So I was fat since 6 years old ( because my genius mom was so worried about me being thing and started cooking everything in ghee and over fed me that year ). Fat stayed on despite my life being mildly chaotic after 7 years of age and even periods of not eating properly missing meals cause mom was ill never helped. I never truly lost weight until I was 9 and went to boarding school ( where we had lots of activities) and after a few months and lots of diarrhoeas, I lost 5 to 10 kgs but was still overweight. Then I got pneumonia, became a long term asthmatic and couldn’t be active much making me gain more. Then the next boarding school had less physical activities sadly and more mental stress which kinda made me gain a bit more . By the time I was yanked out of boarding school and thrown back into living with my dysfunctional parents , I basically went back to my original BMI. Never truly ate much however which is what pains me although I was not aware enough to learn about calories and blindly followed my mothers weird dieting and exercising advice. Immigration don’t help one bit and I gain 6 kgs ( which has been constantly fluctuating around 5 years) . Then my doc advised losing 6 kgs at least to prevent any health complications. My health checks on the other hand is perfect. In fact my cholesterol level is very healthy apparently according to my doc 😳. Just that lack of exercise makes me more breathless and I am determined to change that.
So my immediate goals are losing upto 5 kgs and developing aerobic which might put me in a healthier BMI but won’t make me not fat either (I am 95 kgs , 171 cm / 5’5” ).
My mom is upset that I am not taking up her offer on personal trainer and dietician because I think gives bad advice and only find folks who agree with her ideas. But the bigger question is why do I need to ? Sure health is a reason but my mom is a horrible chain smoker as it is ( second hand smoking from her created my asthma in first place). She gets really really mad even if just ask her not to smoke at home or cut back so I find her very hypocritical. And my health reasons are not even related to weight. However she is just frustrated that her AM proposals for me has not worked out even in first phase ( We think the boy saw my pics and said no) .
Slowly I realised I don’t want to live with a person in a relationship since I am a very private person. Plus sex is quite easy to get if that’s what one needs and friendship is better. Dating and marriage prospects may increase if I lose 20 kgs along with gaining points for pretty privilege ( which also has its limits especially in more advanced societies) . But I am already 28 and last thing I wanna do is cater to men especially since I am bisexual. I also think given how my default body is fat, I should not even consider a person who cannot be attracted to fat people lest I gain all that weight back.
What do you think about my rationale?

I asked DH to explicitly ask if this was a birthday celebration, or just a get together. MIL swore up and down that it wasn’t, and she just wanted everyone over for brunch. Cool, we agreed to go.
We get there and there’s presents and cake and the whole family was invited to celebrate. I immediately shut it down and very firm that this wasn’t to happen. Her response? “You celebrated her birthday last week, it’s my turn”
Full passive aggressive, running off and talking negatively about me within earshot. DH pulled her aside and we left right after.
She does this tho, that’s why I knew this brunch was suspicious. You explicitly ask her not to do something and she will do it anyways if she doesn’t agree with your answer.
Example: She announced my pregnancy at a party of hers after we explicitly asked her not to because I was having serious difficulties and hadn’t told a lot of people yet.
I can’t stand this woman.

Greetings. I just wrapped up my undergrad in Biology. I am not looking to apply this cycle, but the next one (2 gap years), and I was looking at what actions I could take to improve my application. These are my stats so far, but I also included the projected stats by the time I apply. I am currently studying for the MCAT and plan on taking it this summer. During the course of the next year, I plan on continuing to work at my two clinical jobs, getting more volunteer experience, and getting more shadowing experience. My hours will only increase during the application cycle too, so it will actually be higher by the time I get into medical school. My main concern is my lower GPA

Background: I am working on a project to make some open source templates for physical keyboard layouts that are non isomorphic and non chromatic. I come from a background of woodwinds to string instruments to piano, and have found that internalizing and learning new geometry and shapes when performing music to be extremely helpful to conceptualize and understand harmony, melody, and many other aspects of music.
My question is, if I am building a base instrument that is not able to be “tuned”, what would be the best starting point to standardize the Hz values programmed to each note? I am starting with 31-EDO and 17-EDO for the following reason: it’s arbitrary and I want to. Hello everyone! I am a female disabled veteran. I was illegally evicted (from my townhome I had lived in for 7 years) during Covid and despite having section-8 I cannot find a place to live. The eviction results in an automatic denial of every application I have submitted. I am looking for a private landlord who will rent to me.
For some background information (I will try to make brevity my strong suit): I was in the USAF for 8 years. My husband and I went in together on the join-spouse program. We had our first child 2 years later, then the military did away with the program because there were so many married couples enlisted. We got out, had our 2nd child 8 months later and soon afterwards, bought a house. I obtained my bachelor's degree in nursing, then worked as an RN for 28 years. We sadly were divorced after 21 years, and I have been my sole means of support since that time. I moved into my townhome in 2015 and had no issues until 2021. I severely injured my back moving a very large (298lb) patient off of the OR table, following an emergency C-section. I struggled with back issues the rest of my career. In February of 2020 I was laid off from my job as a corrections nurse due to Covid. I was on unemployment but still paid my rent on time every month. In June of 2020 I allowed my oldest daughter to move in with the agreement that she would pay 1/2 of the rent and utilities. This turned out to be a disastrous decision. She had struggled with SA since she was 15, but swore to me she was clean. She was addicted to heroin, couldn't keep a job, created drama constantly, and never paid a penny's worth of her half. She was often rageful, as was her son who visited frequently. They did damage to the townhome in the form of her bedroom door, which my grandson made 2 large dents in with his fists, and the bottom of the staircase, which my grandson pulled the bottom of the handrail away from the wall. Those 2 items were the only damage.
In March 2021 I applied, on the 1st day it became available, to Biden's federal assistance program for tenants in danger of becoming homeless. I notified the property manager, and requested that he send in the required paperwork from management to complete the application. He came over to talk with us and he understood the program. I had applied for SSDI in March of 2020 due to back issues, major depressive disorder, and emphysema. I could no longer perform my duties well as a nurse. Everything was fine until June 2021 when he was replaced. The new property manager was a schoolteacher who was a longtime friend of the owner. She admittedly knew nothing about property management. I first met her on the day I had just been discharged from the VA hospital. I had been in the hospital for 12 days, so I came home and was resting in bed when my daughter came to get me saying, "The owner and a new lady are at the door screaming." They were indeed screaming at me because May's rent had not been paid. I tried to explain the program and the fact that the previous manager knew about it. The law protected residents who had applied from being evicted. I requested an appointment for the following day so we could talk civilly. At this point, TN had only released 6% of the millions of funds available. Finally, my funds were released in September. All arrears were paid, and 3 months into the future were paid, with the option of 3 more months being paid if the tenant was still struggling to pay. When the complex accepted the funds, they signed a federal agreement which stated they could not attempt an eviction based on non-payment of rent, could not create a new lease, and could not harass the tenants (my daughter was on the lease, too). They broke all of these conditions, starting with asking ONLY ME to sign a new lease 3 weeks after receiving the funds. They were requesting me to pay pet deposits for my 3 pets, a dog and 2 cats, in an amount $100 over the normal amount, then get rid of the pets immediately. The pets had not done any damage. The new lease increased the rent by $300. They had already been paid for the rent with the federal funds. Immediately following this "new lease" they sent a letter to both of us, saying that the new rent had not been paid on time and we were being evicted. They would not allow maintenance to come repair things. I had requested 6x that they repair both upstairs toilets, which were leaking at the base, to the point that their were stains and leaking on the living room ceiling! They filed for eviction in January 2022. They only named me, knowing that all of the rent payments were done by me. The case was dismissed because they had filed before it was legal, due to the agreement. I asked the judge if it would be necessary for me to appear in court on the next date if I moved out prior to the date, but he said, "That would be a moot point. You cannot be evicted if you have already moved out." We DID move out before the next court date, but their management went to court ANYWAY, saying we were still there and an eviction was granted!! I looked into filing an appeal, but the cost to file was $695, and I didn't have the money to appeal.
Luckily, a place opened in a VA sponsored home for homeless women. My time is up here and I have applied to a multitude of properties but my applications are always denied, based on the eviction. I am working with a lawyer who has written a letter on my behalf, as well as a letter of recommendation from the program director. Still, I have had flat denials from every property.
The assistance I am requesting is names of property owners who will work with me. If any of you kind Redditors know someone, or ARE someone who would work with me, please let me know. I am out of time at the VA home and I have nowhere to go. I never pictured myself at 64 years old being homeless. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help. I have SSDI, as well as VA compensation, so my income is secure and reliable. I am desperate for a safe place to live.

Here’s my theory as to why it is Gojo at the of ch 260 in terms of his character and the storyline.
I think all the hints were in chapter 236 in hindsight and rereading it brought me to this conclusion:

The airport scene happens before we see his death in chapter 236. I believe this was not after his “death” but in the moments right before it/in between dying and living. This is my analysis of the airport scene:
- One of the defining traits of Gojo’s character is how his perception is skewed in terms of how others see him and how he thinks they see him. He doesn’t show his true feelings to anyone and masks it with either humor, sarcasm or comments about his own strength. For example, all of his deeper thoughts are never actually said out loud. He might think it's something obvious that everyone knows what he is up to but in reality it just makes him seem a bit obnoxious even to his closest friends. Like when he very begrudgingly admits about wanting to make the jujutsu society a better place to Ijichi when Yuji dies and Ijichi is surprised by this revelation. He feels misunderstood and he says it in the chapter itself but he never actually does anything to change that or let people in. Most likely because after he became the strongest he didn't see any point in trying and leaned into the role of the strongest. Clarifying his morals or being more honest in a direct way would bring him at odds with who he really is and who he thinks he needs to be with the latter winning so far.
- At the start of the chapter when he arrives at the airport he is still the same person who operates from his ego and thinks he died with no regrets because until now the only real goal he allowed himself to have was to act like the strongest and die like one too. As the chapter progresses you can see doubts and realizations seeping in of the other goals that he may have put aside earlier (creating a better world for the next generation of sorcerers, telling Megumi about his father).
- When he mentions Megumi he looks visibly concerned and it was Geto who changes the subject to his fight with Sukuna. Even this conversation starts with him talking about things that would actually be his regrets (no one could reach him, he felt lonely, only seen for his strength). It’s noticeable that he feels comfortable to open up about this when it's in context of someone else (Sukuna). Then he reels it back in to talk about not having Geto to give him a slap on the back and stating that as his regret instead.
- Next, his conversation with Nanami and Haibara, I think this was a turning point for him because when Nanami says “you were just in the game because you got a kick out of it” makes him realize just how little even his closest friends think of him and know him. He is very visibly annoyed by this as if it hit a nerve. Geto adding “was just proven by your actions a second ago” hits the nail on the head. He failed to show the world who he is because he wouldn't acknowledge it himself. When Nanami talks about his decision to go “south” after his death, Gojo just appears to be listening and thinking about his own choices.
- Finally when he says to yaga about no sorcerer dying without regret I think it was more of his way of reaching the conclusion of needing to change and die as who he truly is instead, not as the strongest but as Gojo Satoru and that Yaga was right, to do this, he needs to live as someone true to himself and give up his false notions of what his duty to the world is. He realizes his regret after this conversation with his closest friends and makes the decision to head north instead.

I've been working for a company in North Carolina for 13 months now. My letter of intent stated that I would receive a monthly salary of $6,250. This is my first salaried position.
Inl work remote and my first month, April of 2023, I had some family medical issues going on. My mother had just been admitted to an ICU and these were things I had discussed during my interview process (3 interviews, 2 with hiring manager and operation manager and 1 with CEO). The family stuff was no issue; when filling out my first timesheet for the week the operations manager instructed me to to fill out time sheets with Loss of Pay for the days in which I had hours cut short.. be it to go pick up my mom, or if I was sick, etc (example, work 6 hours and then pick up and sit with my mom for 2 hours would be 6 hours of work and 2 hours of "Loss of Pay".
However, in October of 2023, I had a vacation I was planning. The company had offered me 3 weeks of PTO and 1 week of sick leave. These benefits were not listed on my account through our 3rd party payroll provider. I reached out to our operations manager (we don't, or didn't, have an official HR person. The operations manager said he would get my PTO and sick leave time put into then system and told me to have a nice vacation.
The time off benefits were finally added to my account in March of this year (2024). I also noticed on this month's (march) paycheck that my pay was finally at the offered amount of $6250.00. It stood out to me as it was for 173.33 hours (which I didn't understand what the significance was at the time) because I usually notice my hours marked at about 160-165 hours a month - they don't like giving out overtime hours. Then I noticed that my paystubs, even since my first one in April of 2023, say my rate is $6250, and that my "Basis of Pay" is salary.
Now that my April paycheck has come in, I notice it is exactly as my March paystub: 173.33 hours, $6,250.
However, my paychecks prior would range show my hours as the time actually put in (ie, 128 for April of 2023) and the dollar amount would be prorated from my salary to what seemed like an hourly amount ($4,641 in the case of April 2023).
Or, as another example, Jan 2024 has me at 162.83 hours, Pay $5,871.
Anytime I missed a single day, or a partial day, due to sickness (or anything else for that matter) I was instructed to use "Loss of Pay" on my timesheets. Also, I recall that my start date was April 3rd of 2023. My computer (a desktop) was mailed to me from the company and was suppose to arrive the Saturday prior. The mailing company lost the package and it was delayed. The monitors came in April 4th and the tower came in April 5th. I was ready and willing to work those days and it was out of my control that the company equipment necessary for my job had been delayed in post. Though.. I was also instructed to mark those first 2 days (April 3rd, 4th) as well has half of the 3rd day (April 5th, because the tower arrived at around noon) as "Loss of Pay".
Does this seem right? Invictus Launch Week is a now two week long celebration of all the military focused ships in the game (nominally at least), and not only will get have an Avenger Titan (the wonderful space penguin) to fly around with for the duration of the event, but you can get a free short-term rental of a whole pile of ships, by going to the Bevic Convention Center in Area 18 on the planet of ArcCorp in game and pick from any of the ships that are on the daily list, which then will become just as though it was your own ship, for 48 hours. A fun little detail is, too, that if you attend the convention in-game at least three different days (that is, as the game counts it - they roll over 1600 UTC, so keep that in mind), you will get both a badge over on Spectrum (CIG's bespoke communications platform, with both forums and chat), and a Medivac Beacon, which is a hand gadget that you can use for, well, making yourself known as either in need of or being a supplier of medical assistance when out and about.
What Do?
If you do decide to pledge now, however: As a new player, you will likely want to hop on and actually do the tutorial that has (finally) been added. It's a fairly short one, but it'll get you familiar with the basics of the game (on-foot navigation, interaction, flight controls, that sort of stuff), and you even get a set of armour and a bit of cash at the end of it. In short, simple, but worth your time. You can also use the Guide system, which you can find over on Spectrum once you've signed up: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/guide - sometimes there's little bonuses for doing that as well, but it's always useful, as it's a real person, who plays the game, who is there to help you work out how to do things in the game.
For the moment, the servers seem to be pretty happy, but as the game is still in development, there's going to be bugs, sometimes light, sometimes extreme. So while the general gameplay is decently smooth, of course the old "it's an alpha" always applies, and you should always treat this game as one to make sure your expectations are at the correct level for jankiness. That said, you just might be able to have some outright gameplay type fun out in the big sandbox that is out little star system of Stanton.

What Game Package To Get
Most importantly, when picking what to get: Anything called a "starter pack" will get you in the game, and spending more doesn't equal a better ship. Specifically, don't get something called a Standalone Ship, as that will not include game access. It says as much on the store, but there is a lot of text, so it bears pointing out here.
Right now, one of the two largest sales of the year is going on, which means there is a sale on two specific starter packs as well, and either of the two will do you very well as a starter: The Aurora MR Invictus Starter Pack is 10% off the usual price, and the Avenger Titan Invictus Starter Pack is a full 25% off, which lands it as an absolutely amazing value for the cash. Both of these come with a nifty paint as well, as well as a bit of extra starting cash, and longer insurance than the default (though do note, insurance currently doesn't matter, that's going to be more a thing later on, though CIG's word on the topic is also that you'd never completely lose anything you spent cash money on).

If you want the cheapest option to get the game, forever, the Aurora pack should be your pick. 1) I have £100k in an ISA as my retirement fund
or
2) I have £100k in a SIPP as my retirement fund
In both cases, I want to pay myself £20k a year (I know I'm going to die in 5 years in this manufactured scenario).
What are the tax implications for scenario 1 and 2?
Let's assume the Personal Tax Allowance is £10k.
With 1) I understand that I didn't need to pay any tax on the gains I made. But will I be taxed on the 10k over the PTA if I took out 20k a year? I get confused because they don't make it clear if "you don't pay tax" means you don't pay tax on gains or it doesn't factor in to income tax at all?
With 2) I believe would be able to take 25% tax free, and then pay income tax as normal. But I don't understand quite how this works. Again, if I want to pay myself 20k each year, does that mean I just pay tax on:
10k over the PTA minus 25% of 10k, so I would pay tax on £7500?
Or I can take a lump sum of 25k and then later start drawing from the taxable amount when that runs out? What if I elected to just have a fixed amount each month? Would I lose out not taking the lump sum?
It's very confusing. Especially if you had a large retirement pot, I wouldn't want to be forced to take out like £200k at the start of my retirement if that's the only way to have it not taxed.
Again ignore that in the real world the SIPP probably still comes out ahead due to govt tax relief payments and so I would have a bigger pot, but here I'm just interested in the mathematical outcomes of the above scenarios with respect to tax so I can understand exactly what is being taxed and when in both cases. Hello, I recently got an S24 Ultra and so far the phone has been great. However, I have a bit of a weird problem.
On my old phone, "double tap to unlock" was working only when nothing is touching the screen except the finger that tapped. So for example, if I was holding the phone in the palm of my hand, it won't unlock even if I double tap by mistake. Also another example, if I had another finger already pressed on the screen and then I try to double tap, it won't work. This was great because it reduced the probability of me double tapping by mistake when I didn't intend to.
However, with OneUI, it seems like this is no longer the case and double tapping works no matter the situation (unless the light sensor at the top is covered). This is especially frustrating as a lot of times, I would be holding the phone with the palm of my hand and then the screen would accidentally register one of the touches as a double tap, leading to the phone screen unlocking and then opening random notifications I do not intend to open at the time.
Is there a way to make the feature work like my old phone? Is there at least some workaround?

Hello! I have a Master's in Library and Information Science and I was previously a school librarian for five years. The current political climate in the US (with certain populations wanting to ban books and make my life hell) forced me to find other employment. I came home sobbing every day for six months because things were so awful. I now work as an Academic Advisor at a R1 University (salary $46,000 in LCOL southern state). I am getting burned out by this job after just over 18 months; I don't understand what our purpose is, and I am tired of the menial tasks. Everything we tell students is public information, and we are supposed to regurgitate this information to students with ZERO creativity or deviation. For example, I just finished checking all my students grades for the past semester and telling little Johnny to change his schedule if he failed a class. Keep in mind, these students are 18-24, they should KNOW when they failed a course. I am 27 and I just feel very lost. I do not want to go back to traditional school if I can help it. I want to look into other careers, but I do not know what to look for or where to start. Please help.

Main question: I've been working for a year and a half for a city in texas that has enforced only practical electrical safety measures. now they are starting to enforce NFPA 70E and while I know I should remove all metal as part of being electrically safe in preparation to do work I have a stainless steel bracelet that lives on my left wrist that is designed not to come off ever without ruining the thing. there is no clasp, it's just loose enough to get two fingers under, will break away if pulled, and is meant to serve the same function as a semicolon tattoo. (those that know know but I am intensely phobic of needles so a tattoo was out of the question) I'm going through the book to see if there is any way I can get away with keeping this bracelet on at all times but I'm an apprentice electrician. If anyone knows where I should be looking for an acceptable alternate way of making it safe I would really appreciate any help towards that goal.

What I Learned
Topic: Basic strings in Python (for textual data)- Overview: I learned how to use Python to define strings, and how to use f strings for ease of reference. I learned a few commands that can be applied to strings once defined.
- Key Points:
- Strings can be defined with [stringname] = '[whatever I want here]', which can then be used as I see fit. I can add commands i.e. [stringname].uppe.lower in order to influence the string.
- I can use 'len' after 'print' to print the length of a given string, i.e. 'print(len('hireddit')) would print the number 8.
- I can use [squarebrackets] to print certain letters within a string, and .find to print the total number of the queried item as found within a string.
- I can use f'{} {}' as a very convenient way to print various predefined strings, and can apply functions (i.e. '.upper') within those curly braces. Mega convenient and easy to edit.
- Interesting Fact: Unlike other programming languages (looking at you C), Python doesn't require semicolons at the end of lines as it's able to parse whitespace. Looks cleaner.
How I Learned

- Methods: Watched the video. Followed the examples with alternate strings on VSCode to help me grasp it.

- Our website has a homepage where visitors can either sign up or request a demo. When a client signs up or requests a demo, it triggers two separate DAGs (Directed Acyclic Graphs). The first DAG sends an email to the sales team, notifying them about the new lead generated, and another email to the client, welcoming them to the platform. The second DAG stores the client's information in the `lead_generated` collection.
- After the lead generation DAG is completed, another DAG is triggered periodically (e.g., daily). The Craig films were devoid of charm and humourA video by my fellow moderator u/Sneaky_Bond shows many examples of the Craig era having humour and charm. The humour in Craig's films are more in the vein of Connery than Moore, being drier and more subtle. The comedy of Connery's last film and then Moore's are more blatant and the films take themselves much less seriously. That being said, Craig's last two films do incorporate more gags à la Moore like Bond falling from a crumbling floor to a couch in Spectre and No Time To Die's slapstick Cuba shootout.
Craig's films aren't Bond films and do not resemble the previous films, totally eschewing elements like exotic locales, beautiful women, fancy cars and clothing, diabolical villains, far-fetched world domination schemes, deadly henchmen with a gimmick, lavish opening title sequences, the roaring orchestral scores, the over-the-top action scenes, the beautiful girl who ends up betraying him, the needlessly complicated death-trap because apparently a bullet just won't suffice...Again, Sneaky's video disproves the lack of personality and charm. Every Craig films had exotic locales, beautiful women, gadgets, fancy cars and clothing, diabolical villains, lavish opening title sequences, roaring orchestral scores, and over-the-top action scenes. The beautiful traitor, convoluted death-traps, far-feteched world domination schemes, deadly henchmen with gimmicks each appeared in at least one of the Craig films. They didn't always show up pre-Craig anyways.
Craig is not a real Bond, but a Jason Bourne cloneCraig's first two films did take a more grounded and intense approach like Bourne, but the franchise has always blended the elements of its contemporaries with the classic formula to stay relevant. More importantly, following the lead of Bourne and Batman Begins finally made harkening closer to the novels (again, thanks u/Sneaky_Bond) palatable for audiences who previously rejected entries like Dalton's. The novels aren't the end-be-it-all for what the franchise should be, but their influence cannot be overstated, and Eon has said as much. The six sixties films represent the golden age for the franchise, and five of them were direct adaptations of the novels. The franchise has swung the pendulum between lighthearted fantasy (which increasingly departed from the source material with films like Guy Hamilton and Lewis Gilbert's) and more serious grounded fare (like John Glen's films), and, even putting aside the novels, there are precedence for what the Craig films did in previous films.
Craig's Bond enjoys killing and is a serial abuser of womenIt's made very clear that Craig's Bond dislikes killing, with him squirming when drowning Dryden's contact in Casino Royale and refusing to look at Slate and Safin's eyes in Quantum of Solace and No Time To Die respectively. As for abusing women, Bond's relationships with Vesper, Camille, and Madeline were anything but abuse. He does seduce Fields and Lucia to achieve his goals and his sleeping with Severine is contentious, albeit presented as consensual, but these are tame compared earlier films like Goldfinger, Thunderball, and The Man With The Golden Gun.
Craig wanted to kill off Bond because he hated the roleHe doesn't. The "wrist-slitting" comment that his detractors frequently use as "proof" was, according to him, an ill-advised attempt at a joke that he regrets, and was borne from a troubled production that saw him stick with a tear in the ACL for nine months to prevent delays. As for Bond's death, his comments on NTTD's ending and the influences from OHMSS and Fleming's work show a clear artistic desire to wrap up his era definitively to allow the next to start fresh while still paying tribute to the source material. While the execution may not have been the best, there were no ill intentions behind the decision to kill off Bond.

Now for Craig's first four films, Casino Royale released November 16, 2006; Quantum of Solace October 31, 2008 (715 days); Skyfall October 26, 2012 (1456 days); and Spectre October 26, 2015 (1095 days). There was an average of 2.98 years between films, meaning that the average increased by 237 days, or around 8 months, between films compared to the Brosnan era. It should be noted that Skyfall lost a year of pre-production because MGM declared bankruptcy.

If you get the main stats on other sets, or even incomplete sets, it’ll only result in a minor decrease in team performance. Stat BuildingSpeed210 SPD while transformed is not detailed in a trace, but is the requirement for Firefly to get a 4th action within her Ultimate without external sources of action advance, and also 3 actions on a wave change while the countdown is currently on the action bar. Because of that, it’s extremely important to attain this breakpoint. Reaching it will generally require SPD boots, together with another source of speed, like the Forge set bonus, substats or smaller buffs such as Ruan Mei’s talent. A stable 165 SPD while untransformed, equaling 225 SPD while transformed, is the breakpoint for getting 3 Enhanced Actions in the first cycle without any external Action Advances. This speed will require a decent amount of substats, but is worth considering if and only if 0-cycling is one of your goals Break Effect/Attack Firefly’s main scaling stat is Break Effect, as most of her damage is Break DMG. She also converts ATK into BE, which makes ATK% very close to BE for her scaling per percentage. Since BE sources often give out more than ATK% sources, BE is still the higher priority. There is a breakpoint of 360% BE for her personal Super Break DMG, and that should be attained by all means, which should not be difficult with proper support and heavy BE investment. Attaining more BE by all means is how Firefly does her damage. Critical No. Her multipliers and several other benefits towards building Crit have been completely destroyed with Beta v3. Crit stats are completely wasted on Firefly. Light ConesWhereabouts Should Dreams Rest, her signature LC, is the best option as with every DPS in the game. Break Effect is uncommon in Destruction LCs, and this gives a big chunk of it together with a debuff that helps Firefly deal Super Break DMG.Its importance for her seems to be about average when compared to other DPSes’ signature options for themselves - she is not as signature-reliant as Blade or Acheron. Aeon, mentioned below, is a great F2P replacement. On the Fall of an Aeon, the Herta Store LC, gives Firefly a huge chunk of ATK%, which gets converted into more BE. It also has very high base ATK to increase the value of other sources of ATK%. This should be your default F2P choice. Indelible Promise is her best 4* option, giving a good amount of Break Effect, the stat she wants the most. It does need a high Superimposition to be great, which is something inaccessible to most players. Flames Afar, mentioned here due to the frequent talk about it pre-beta, is not a good option for Firefly despite Sam being in it. Firefly needs BE or ATK% for her damage scaling, and Flames Afar offers neither of them, so its effect is useless on her. Other Light Cones are inferior and not recommended. Relics and PlanarsIron Cavalry Against Scourge, a set being introduced together with Firefly’s release in 2.3, is her undisputed best option. Break/Super Break DMG is the majority of Firefly’s damage profile, and the significant DEF ignore is one of the biggest sources of damage increase you can have.2-Pc/2-Pc Set combos are a great option for Firefly. With 3 sets that give BE to mix and match between, you can pick the combinations with the best BE substats you can find. Iron Cavalry’s improvement is sizable, but the performance of 2-Pc/2-Pc sets is still high enough for re-farming to not be necessary. Genius of Brilliant Stars, aka Quantum set, is also a solid option. It also features DEF ignore stacking that works on Break DMG, but will provide less of it in most situations and also has a worse 2-Pc effect. Just as above, if you’ve saved up Quantum pieces with high Break Effect, they’ll serve you well. Longevous Disciple, mentioned here due to the frequent talk about it pre-beta, has several issues with uptime and not giving Firefly one of her two scaling stats, so its effect is useless on her. Other set options are not recommended, as they’ll be outdone by 2-Pc/2-Pc builds. Planar Sets: Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern and Talia: Kingdom of Banditry both give massives amount of Break Effect to contribute to your main damage and are almost identical in benefit. Both of their conditions are automatically met in enhanced state. All other options are worse. Typically, the gap between Planar sets for characters is quite small, but the Break sets offer a lot of that stat, and since it’s unlikely to have good BE pieces saved up in other sets, it’s recommended to farm either Forge or Talia. Team Building - AmplifiersHarmony Trailblazer - Firefly and Harmony Trailblazer’s kits seem to have been practically made for each other. HTB’s biggest fault of only buffing Break Effect is fixed by Firefly’s kit converting it directly into damage scaling, while Firefly’s high innate BE and incredible break value on Enhanced Skill will help her deal extremely high Super Break DMG. These two should be together in teams at basically all times.Differently from Boothill, who doesn’t use HTB in his most optimal teams, Firefly has more upfront break to access Super Break DMG quicker, especially with the help of Gallagher or Bronya, and can’t trigger default Break DMG by herself. In general, Break characters are highly recommended to stick together, both to amplify each other and to get Super Break DMG, so the other two currently in the game, Ruan Mei and Gallagher, go very well here. Ruan Mei - A fantastic fit, almost every part of Ruan Mei’s kit greatly benefits Firefly. Weakness Break Efficiency helps her break enemies faster and improves Super Break DMG, RES PEN is a modifier that also works on Break damage, and the passive SPD and BE help Firefly get to her thresholds. An easy choice to put into any team. Ruan Mei’s E1 will be a good improvement to these teams, with its DEF ignore stacking with Iron Cavalry’s set bonus for exponential growth. Asta - Asta is a good budget option for Break teams when lacking 5* Harmony units. Her ATK buff is directly converted into more BE for Firefly, and the high break value on her skill means she can deal significant Super Break DMG and help Firefly break enemies faster. Asta’s speed buff can give Firefly’s enhanced state a fourth turn with no speed investment, but it can only be ready for the first one in specific conditions - an E6 Asta with Meshing Cogs, an ERR rope and using technique instead of Firefly’s. Because of that, it’s recommended to still run Speed boots on Firefly. Asta is recommended to build towards Break Effect in her substats as she doesn’t have high stat requirements elsewhere. Hanya - Hanya’s benefits are very similar to Asta’s, but Asta is a free character with upsides to Hanya. Use Hanya as a budget option if you just don’t like Asta. Bronya - Bronya works incredibly well with Firefly. More actions in Enhanced State have very high value, and Bronya gives more than any other support. With E0 Firefly’s SP consumption, though, those teams need to finish fights incredibly quickly before they run dry of SP. When Firefly is E1, Bronya becomes a better option. The required speed tuning for optimization is pending with v3 changes, but is likely to be very demanding on Bronya’s side. Silver Wolf/Pela - Both of these characters help stack DEF reduction, which affects Super Break DMG. The damage increase from this is solid, and they can be considered budget options. Robin - Almost none of Robin’s benefits work with Firefly, as her ATK buff does not contribute to Firefly’s ATK > BE conversion. With that in mind, Robin ends up being close in performance to Asta as a teammate. Even if she’s E1, just use her on your other team. Tingyun - Tingyun’s main appeal, the energy battery, is of low benefit to Firefly. Since Firefly’s Enhanced Skill generates no energy, Tingyun needs Huohuo to cut a turn of downtime. Her ATK buff is beaten out by Asta, and most other benefits are wasted. Sparkle - Sparkle’s DMG% and crit buffing is entirely wasted on Firefly. Her Action Advance is extremely difficult to make use of with Firefly’s changing speed and will not give many enhanced actions. Yukong - Yukong’s skill’s value is practically tossed out the window with Firefly’s self-action advance and speed buff. With her ATK% buff being unreliable and Yukong providing nothing else towards Firefly’s breakpoints, she’s not a good option at all. Team Building - SustainsFirefly is not very picky with sustains. Even still, there are some preferences. Her high SP consumption favors sustains that can generate high amounts of SP.Gallagher - Gallagher is a perfect fit for Firefly. Generating insane amounts of SP due to his ultimate’s action advance and Multiplication, coupled with helping break Fire weak enemies which Firefly creates and increasing their Break DMG received, Gallagher can be considered the optimal sustain from a damage standpoint despite his 4* status. E1 is an important breakpoint for Gallagher, letting him contribute massive amounts of Break before Firefly’s first action to let her break enemies quicker. Gallagher does this by using Skill to get to full energy on his first turn > Ultimate > Enhanced Basic. Other Fast Abundances - This includes Natasha, Lynx, Bailu and Luocha. Having high speed on these helps make up for Firefly’s SP consumption to give your support units more freedom, and since the DPS is typically the weak link of the team survivability-wise, Firefly’s innate tankiness helps mitigate the weaker healing provided by Natasha, Lynx and Bailu. Multiplication is recommended, but if it feels too unsafe, feel free to use a more healing-oriented LC. Aventurine - Firefly does not have any reservations against being played with a shielder. Her self-action advance happens infrequently enough that it shouldn’t lead to Aventurine’s shields falling off, and with Firefly being tankier than most DPS, Aventurine’s need to use skill decreases even more, making him a very safe sustain option that also provides good SP. Huohuo - Huohuo’s SP consumption is a poor fit for Firefly, the ATK buff from her ultimate lasts too little to be worth much, and the energy battery is useless for Firefly herself unless you waste another slot on Tingyun. Huohuo is still a strong character against any CC-heavy fights and smooths out most supports’ rotations, though. Fu Xuan - Fu Xuan’s low SP generation is an issue when being ran with Firefly, but if that’s accounted for with your other support choices, Fu Xuan functions moderately well - she’ll still be as safe as she is with anyone, but her Crit buff will not benefit Firefly at all. # EidolonsAs with most other characters, E3 and E5 are minor numerical upgrades that don’t change the kit’s workings. Their pictures are linked for your appreciation, though.E1 - In Reddened Chrysalis, I Once Rest): DEF ignore is the rare modifier to apply to Break DMG, making it a solid damage increase. The Enhanced Skill not consuming SP moves Firefly’s average SP consumption from around -1.4 SP/t to -0.55 SP/t, which is quite significant in giving more team options as well. E2 - From Shattered Sky, I Free Fall: The newest busted, whale-bait eidolon. Adding functionally two turns to ultimate state is a hilariously powerful effect, and it’s very easy to make use of it - your Blast attacks will often break main targets and kill adds quickly. This eidolon is undoubtedly broken, but same as with Acheron’s and Imbibitor Lunae’s, it is not required for Firefly to be a strong character by any stretch of the imagination. Do not feel forced to go for it if you can’t afford it. E4 - Upon Lighted Firefly, I Soon Gaze: A token effect that is typically covered by your sustain unit. Never worth stopping at. E6 - In Finalized Morrow, I Full Bloom: RES PEN and Weakness Break Efficiency will both greatly help with your Super Break DMG. In that case, it’s better to extend the benefits you get from attacking broken enemies, so these delays are a strict upside. Q: E1, Signature LC, literally anything else OR Ruan Mei? A: Ruan Mei, and it’s not close. The benefit she provides to Firefly’s damage is unmatched, and she can be considered an essential teammate to maximize Firefly’s damage. Q: Signature LC or E1? A: Both are decently close in performance. I’d give the edge to Signature for most players, freeing up your Aeon for use with other Destruction characters. Q: Does Crit or DMG% affect Break damage? A: No. The only Relic stat that increases Break damage is Break Effect. The only buffs/debuffs that do are Break Effect increases, DEF reduction/ignore, RES PEN, and Damage Taken increases. |

One issue I've been having with my new PC for a while is that when playing games it often tends to freeze completely, only playing without issue on restart. At first I thought this was just an issue with fortnite, as every time I tried loading into a game, my screen would either freeze entirely, not letting me use my mouse and keyboard, or it would go black, my audio would bug, and the PC would reset itself. When playing after restarting the PC, it seems to run fine. Just now I've experienced the original bug, where the screen freezes completely and I have to shut the PC off manually, but I was playing VRChat, so it can't be something to do with Fortnite itself. I don't play many high performance games, but my PC seems to run others fine, one example I tried last night was Sonic Frontiers, which runs without any issue. Has anyone had any similar issues and any possible solution?
