I’m going to be in 8th grade on Friday and I’ve been on the same bus since 5th grade I’m on the smaller bus since I have autism adhd medical issues (idk how I can possibly describe pls let me know the correct term) and I’m friends with a girl who sits across from me with her friend My friend has cerbal palsy and her friend has brain damage. Every single day her friend who’s currently a 6th grader brings toys not fidgets which are allowed but a hello kitty bag that blinks and makes noise (which isn’t allowed) and if we hit a tree she screams “BLIMP CHECKS” it really annoys me when my other friend who has a walker races our bus driver she laughs like a maniac (best way I can describe it). When my friend gets on the bus she starts singing loudly with her which also bugs me since I’m sensitive to noise I asked both to please sing quieter. We also hit a bump on the way to the school and they scream “BUMP” and this really upsets the kid in front of them he starts covering his ears the bus driver asks them to be quite the only time she’ll ask. Today my friend said how her class will be having “water slides and making slime on Friday” claming they will be having feild day when our feild day was actually last week and her class already did it and there was no water activity’s I do understand that they might do more but her class already did it. Weeks up before her birthday that will only be what she also talks about she’ll say “*our bus drivers name” I’ll be 14 years old in this amount of days or weeks” she also says she’s the tallest on our route which did actually upset someone (not me) I’m a little bit more taller. There is a kid in a wheelchair on our route and he screams which our driver tells him to stop they sing as loud as he screams. Also about the hello kitty bag I did give her friend a compliment since I love hello kitty. I’m nice to both of them. I’m honestly at my breaking point with both of them I have 3 and a half days left I do have ear buds but I feel like they aren’t helping

Hello! i just got my acceptance letter from NTU English and I'm really excited about it! I had my interview yesterday with one of the professors! Rather than a strict interview, I genuinely just felt it was a chit chat session of enlightening and informative nature <3
I took combined literature in secondary school but didn't take Lit in JC. I did do pretty well in GP out of all my subjects and I love reading books so I thought English would be a good major for me. But of course, after not annotating books and poems for 2 whole years, I do have some concerns and questions(that i didn't manage to ask my interviewer)🫨

1. For those that didn't take H1/H2 Literature or has no literature background, did the introductory courses help to bridge the skills and knowledge of analysing lit?
   
2. Do you usually purchase your literature texts or is a pdf given to you? If you do purchase your literature books, around how much is it?
   
3. For the prescribed electives, on average, how many books are there per elective? or does it vary based on AUs (3 vs 4)? i'm quite interested in South Asian Lit and Modernism!
   
4. By having a Bachelor of Arts in English degree, what are the various industries have you guys interned / worked in?
   
5. Hows the exam structure like? Must you guys submit an essay by the end of the course or is it a group project?

Hello, I am a medium who gets visitation dreams. I’ve only ever been reached by spirit while sleeping. Tonight I had an experience where I woke up and felt my childhood cat laying on my head. (I don’t have any pets now) .
It was 1:20am and my husband left for work, we live right off a highway and I was listening to the road to make sure he crossed safely. I fell asleep and my mom who is living spoke to me and said “don’t worry he will be ok nobody will hit him and he won’t be hurt, I’m sorry I don’t want to put those thoughts on your mind” then I felt an overwhelming feeling of love and comfort and my childhood cat came walking up to my pillow and then I woke up and felt kitty plop on my head. I physically felt it. And then I remembered I don’t have a cat and it spooked me! Lol

Hello everyone there is a sweet little kitty that has been hanging around my house for at least a year. I used to think it was a neighborhood tomcat attracted to my little furrygirl. But there's been no spraying/scent marking and it's lost a lot of weight (very small and skinny now). I recently started feeding it and have noticed it sleeps in the bushes around our home. It's covered with fleas and I assume has worms too, but otherwise appears to be in ok condition. I'm pretty sure now that it's a she and is either a lost or abandoned cat. She cries loudly and pitifully every time she sees me which absolutely breaks my heart, because I can't take her in. I already have some older cats that don't tolerate others and are already distressed that I'm paying attention to this one. Also I have been unemployed for several years and absolutely cannot afford more vet bills. I'm trying to find someone who is willing to adopt her but not having much luck with that so far. What else can I do to help this sweet little homeless kitty?

Hello! I have three finished manuscripts (fantasy novels) which I have formatted in PDF for printing. The novels include a few pictures (outside the main text), as well as a unique font for the chapter titles and a few poems within the story. The specific font in question is important to the overall story, so I would like to keep it at all costs. Problem is, obviously a flexible EPub format will not maintain the same font on all devices/e-readers. With the images I could include them as separate files in the purchase of the E-Book, but the font is a big problem.
I saw another post that recommended putting the chapter titles in as images but A) how would I know the image dimensions required? and B) is adding images practical to a flexible layout?
So, my question here is, what to I do? Do I accept defeat and sell the E-Books in PDF only? With PDF I have piracy concerns (as well as the fact that E-Book readers don't seem to like them compared to EPubs).

So this time last year (May ‘23) I went to see HR regarding a hiring committee I was a part of and the favoritism they showed a candidate. The Director of HR, granted she was the only HR employee at the time, is this beautiful African American woman with big, bright eyes and a gorgeous smile. We talked about my committee and then we just talked about life. She was going through hard times. We ended up becoming fast friends. I would go and check up on her.
Fast forward to August, I went to go see her again. Just dropped in as a quick hello and was reminded how beautiful she was. The next week I saw her. She stopped by where I was standing in line for food and touched my shoulder, finger to skin, and I literally felt a spark go through me. She just stopped to say hi. I think that was the moment I couldn’t stop thinking about her. From that moment forward I started to go to her office once a week. We had great conversation. I was learning more about her. We had astrology in common. We learned about each other’s families. We both were having problems as she was on the edge of divorce. My love life at the time was nonexistent with my wife and crumbling. However I started to enjoy her company way more than expected.
Because of our interest in astrology I knew her birthday was coming up in October. I decided to buy her a birthday card with a gift card for a restaurant. Before I got out of the car I said to myself ‘I think I’m in love with her’. That’s when I knew I was in trouble. I had began to write poems about her (which seem to be therapeutic) and having non stop thoughts of her. Mind you I’m still going to her office once a week. I gave her the card. We are still talking. She’s still going through shit with her husband. I’m talking about her to select coworkers. I offered to buy her lunch, another way to spend time with her. Well turns out she had a meeting with our CEO and we would have had less than 10 minutes. I was devastated. Like seriously heartbroken. Thus began my limerence. I still went to see her every chance I got. Probably too much. She never told me to not come and see her. In fact it became ‘You should come by more often’. I did.
A conference that both of us and several other employees attended happened in late November to December. We were very connected at the hip. She flashed me her room number without saying a word. I chose not to go. Literally the week before during Thanksgiving two things happened. 1) I ran into a psychic who gave me a reading and told me not to sleep with her. 2) My wife and I had a devastating argument about the state of our marriage. It had went to shit when we started therapy. Skipping the fact that I didn’t go up that night we had a great time together. We spent an incredible amount of time together. It was fun. I felt incredibly refreshed having spent time with her. The one downside to the entire trip was that she told me she was reconciling with her husband.
I asked her out twice for a meal in December. She never gave a direct no, but created excuses. January came and she got sick. I texted her a lot checking in on her. She also reminded me she was trying to reconcile with her husband. In the same breath she asked me how I was doing as I was newly separated. It became emotional.
The next event per se happened in February. After Valentine’s Day I went to see her. I asked how things were going with her and her husband. She said they went well. I had started talking with people on dating apps. I mentioned this to her and she seemed a bit bothered. I was surprised. Somehow my wife came into conversation and I told her that I talk to her more than my wife. She blushed! Despite having good moments with her I was heartbroken that her and her husband were doing well.
I didn’t go see her for two weeks. There was a function midday. She waved at me and I was excited to see her. When I started to walk towards her she turned around and ignored me. This hurt me severely as I have trauma from people ignoring me. I stopped going to see her again. She texts me for my birthday, granted it was a week late, but I was excited. This was the first time we had a text conversation in over two months. She mentioned that she had to take medical leave. Needless to say I was devastated. I went to see her and she was very sad. She started telling me about her family life as a child, but we were interrupted.
While she was out, a coworker started a meal train account for her so she wouldn’t have to cook. There was an area where you could buy DoorDash gift cards. I bought $200 worth and also sent $300 in visa gift cards via a coworker who would see her.
When she comes back to work she tries to give one of the gift cards back. I told her I wouldn’t accept it back.
I’m very in love (or limerence/infatuated) with her. I’ve tried dating other people, but that doesn’t help as I end up talking about her when asked is there someone else.
