Storytown 4th grade resources

Hi, as the title indicates I just recently decided to try and attend law school. I had always loved the idea of law, but I didn't really think I had it in me. I'm technically beginning my senior year of undergrad next fall, however, I was placed on academic suspension for two years due to poor grades. I think I grew a lot in those two years and now really want to see what I'm capable of and actually go after that dream of law school. I feel like I'm a bit behind though on some common things I keep seeing but know nothing about.

1. What is a diagnostic test? I took my first practice test last week and got a 166, is this my diagnostic or is that something else entirely?
   
2. How representive are practice tests? I've taken 4 at this point and have gotten 166, 167, 170, 169. I think those are good enough to get me into my states school, but can I expect something in that range on test day.
   
3. Do admissions care more about gpa or lsat score? I will have a 3.0 gpa at time of application. It's mainly a mixture of C's D's and F's from freshman and sophomore year and all A's since. I think it shows improvement but will the number knock me out of consideration for a lot of schools?
   
4. What's a good resource for how to study? I've just been randomly taking practice tests and my scores have been pretty much the same on them so I feel like im not really improving by just doing those alone.
   
5. I've read that logic games will not be included for future LSATs, this was my worst section on my first practice test, so I was initially happy to hear that, but is this true for everyone? Will all scores go up as a result?

I am not confident in my knowledge base, and am wondering if there are free resources to "bone up", as it were, before the class starts on June 5th.
I was homeschooled; I passed my GED with a 174 in science out of 200. A scientific class is a requirement, and the other choices (CHE, BIO) had requirements I had not yet fulfilled; I fulfilled the Physics requirement through Math 108, statistics, which I am waiting for my final grade on, but, if my final reflects my performance on the other tests in the class, will be getting ~94%, for an A.
The course will be a 4-credit lab class, held in the summer, over 15 non-contiguius days in 9AM-3PM blocks. I will be taking no other courses at the time. The college is likely the best community college in America, but is not a science-y institution.
Please advise on what I may need to learn, and where to for free fast.

This FYI will focus on giving you a strong start in my faction, Apart from Live events and Towers, your two main issues at the start will be Proving Grounds (PG) and Faction Wars (FW).
I will discuss faction wars later in the article as some of the strongest cards in the game, even at present, are located there. But to have an easier time in faction wars you will need good card to begin with. So hers how to get a head start on some great Sapphire and Ruby Cards.
In regards to your starter pack choose whatever you prefer, you will receive emerald evo cards which, by meeting specific requirements will evolve gem levels eventually reaching Ruby 80 overall. I tend to go for Strikers as they are easier to meet the requirements and MFP match actions for PG, Lives and Towers.
MyRise and Showcase:
Completion of these modes unlock various my faction cards and some of them are very strong.
Cheesing Myrise and Showcase: If you just want to blast through the modes, set it to easy and go to balancing, then turn everything in your favour, reversals, kick outs, health and regarding submission, change it so the AI is punished for wrong button presses, you not so and correct button presses are strong for you and weak for AI, you will be submitting people in seconds unless the match has objectives or stipulations to meet first. Is it scummy? Yes. Does it matter? No.
I would recommend showcase first, this can be laborious as you cant just win it but have to complete all objectives, again the difficultly adjustment will help but the part that rewards you is the end. It involves you taking part as the first entrant in a 30 man battle royale, to meet all objectives to unlock the showcase cards you need to survive and also eliminate 10 individuals during the run. Choose your wrestler wisely! Someone whos strong can reverse but can survive!
For completing Showcase Royale Rumble with 10 eliminations and winning you receive the following my faction cards which in my opinion are the best starting cards in the game prior to the FW bosses:

Time doesn't move in 1 direction we are 4th dimensioninal being that perceive time moving in that direction because we are like sharks and need time to move to survive. Thinking in an evaluation basied way it makes sense as if you find a place where you can keep getting the resources without moving on your own then you would stay there. It might be easier to move through time like walking down the street then moving through 3d space. If time is like a digital photo slide by slide moment to moment then it could be that going backwards is just hard for our species. It also could mean all the resources we interact with are just the resources we can see that were captured in the moment of time we are in and could change once we reach the "end" of this slide.

I think a lot of Severance is really explained by how episode 2 opens. I've noticed this before, but kept forgetting to dive into it. But last night I put on episode 2 to fall asleep to, heard it again, and decided to look into it today.
So iMark shows up for work at the beginning of Ep 2 on his first full day as MDR supervisor. He's looking at the list of his new duties, he's doing all the office prep stuff, and the whole time they're playing "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho" as the music.
I truly believe there are no mistakes in this show. Everything has a reason.
So as I'm falling asleep last night, all I'm hearing is the music, I'm singing along in my head and thinking about being in second grade and performing this song with my class for one of the pagents, and then thinking, once again, "why this song?"
Some background: the Battle of Jericho itself, is where they marched around the city once a day for six days, blowing their ram horns (goat reference), and on the 7th day they marched around seven times, blowing their horns until the walls crumbled and they took the city. All fine and well. But... then I started thinking, "ok, but of all the songs they could use as Mark is setting up the office, WHY that song?"
More background: Joshua was the right hand/second behind Moses. He was with Moses when God gave Moses the commandments, but not when Moses wrote them down. Then Joshua was one of the 12 spies Moses sent into Canaan to see if they could settle there, and they were all asked to keep a good tone to the reports. The job of the spies was to map the land, see what the other settlements were doing, figure out if they could be taken over, and report back on the general state of what they had (agriculture, forestry, other resources, etc). When the spies returned, 10 gave mixed or negative reports, with only Joshua and Caleb giving glowing one. Because of this, only Joshua and Caleb were promised spots in the Promised Land. After Moses died, God appointed Joshua as his successor. Joshua then started leading them into Canaan to find places to settle, and the first battle that happened was the Battle of Jericho.
So... what if Petey is our Moses, and Mark is our Joshua? And Because Mark would have been with Petey as they wandered around, they learned what the floor was like, but then Petey wrote and left the "commandments" (aka the Map) when Mark wasn't there.
So now Mark is in charge. And though Petey/Moses is alive on the outside, and giving oMark some direction before he dies (about spying!), iMark is now his full successor inside. He was appointed by the Board/Cobel (the "god" in Severance, who, by the way, iMark never heard the voice of). At this point in time, for the innies, Petey is as good as dead. And, as an aside, there ARE 12 spies, because once they decide to join with O&D, there are 12 of them! (4 in MDR + 8 total in O&D) I double checked in the scene and have a picture.
So, the questions...

1. What is the battle of Jericho?
   
2. The next is the first battle of Ai, which they lose. What is it?
   
3. The first battle of Ai is lost because one of them looted JerJericho for their own personal gain, which they weren't supposed to do, and beyraybetrayed the group. So who is the betrayer here? Who gets "paid off" by the company?
   
4. What will be the successful battle for Ai? (Season 2 or 3?)
   

I just think with all the religious stuff with Kier, Cobel, etc., and the song, "mapping the land" and the innies trying to figure out what's going on and them spying... it's too similar.
To answer some of the questions:

1. I believe the Battle of Jericho is the innies breaching the MDR locked wall that gets installed. By the time it's installed, Petey is truly dead, so both oMark and iMark are his successor in the Moses/Joshua parallel. It's only at this point the battle could happen.

The MDE takes place, and Helly picks defiant jazz. That can symbolize the horns being played around the city walls. IIRC, the way iMark is dancing is even like a little marching step move. After Milchick leaves, the innie gang leaves MDR with Graner's keycard. The walls of Jericho have, indeed, come tumbling down! They then go and make a tentative deal to join forces with O&D, creating the full 12 spies.

1. The battle at Ai, that they lose the first time, could be them waking up in the final episode and it being thwarted. It's not clear (yet) what/how much they accomplished. TBD
   
2. The reason the first battle at Ai is unsuccessful is because someone betrayed the group at Jericho by looting. So, if this analogy holds, did someone decide to take a payoff of some sort after the first overtime contingency test in episode 9? Maybe to stay out of the breakroom? I'm not pointing fingers, but Milchick was offering a lot of new incentives to Dylan, so I guess we'll have to see?
   
3. If the 1st battle of Ai was the OTC in ep 9, then the second would have to be some sort of repeat. But in Joshua's story, the second time he goes with a small contingency and confronts the leaders, I believe (who think it'll be easy to take them down). Meanwhile, the city is lost and 12,000 perish. So... are they going to wake again but have a much better plan this time???
   

Some additional thoughts:
• I can see iIrv, when he puts the egg in the Kier book, being one of the spies being fed up with "the word of God" and broken promises.
• When iMark takes Helly on her "mental health walk" she eventually agrees to help clean up the map. And when they're with the big O&D group, they talk about trying to find out what else is going on down there, exploring, and mapping. This was the job of the 12 spies that Moses sent into Canaan.
• Even if you think about Petey, he looks old. Like older than he should, given what we could guess his age is. And he's wandering alone, lost in his own desert (the greenhouses) for awhile.
Also, he loves the robe. After Mark takes him in, we basically only see Petey in that robe from that point forward. It just reminds me of how many different biblical stories we re-enacted in various school plays, and the boys were always in their dads' bathrobes when they played any biblical characters.
We don't know a lot about Petey's real backstory, but when he leaves Mark's house after Cobel breaks in, he goes into one of his fugue states where he can't tell the difference between reality and being on the severed floor. He's holding the map he drew, and thinks he's following that as he walks across the bridge and into town. As though he is wandering, again, in his own mind desert. And Moses wandered, alone, then died on a mountain while looking over the Promised Land. Petey, after wandering alone, walks out of the convenience store, sees Mark in the distance, and collapses. So does Mark represent, in some way, the idea of the promised land (uncovering what Lumen is really up to on the severed floor) to Petey?
(My whole point there is that Petey really does fit the idea of being the Moses in this dissection of the story, lol)
TL;DR: could Petey be Moses, Mark be Joshua, and the whole show ultimately be about trying to lead the innies and their outies to their promised land (aka the truth of what's really happening on the severed floor)?
Anyway... it seems to fit. And I can't think of another reason to choose that song, out of any song they could have picked, to play during that scene. It was the real transfer of power, when iMark truly became the new leader, taking over even the mundane tasks of leadership in this culture that signaled, to them, that iPetey was gone.
Sure, it could be a stretch. But I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts, especially anyone who might be able to dissect the biblical stories better! 😊

I can't imagine why they'd matter less than third year grades, but no one ever talks about it

Hello everyone! There was some recent interest in /kindergarten on what the "next" sub to join would be.
I thought this sub could be similar to the month-based pregnancy subs, in that it could age with a group of kids who are at the same stage in life, with discussions and questions evolving naturally over time. It could also be a resource for the parents of kids who will be a grade under ours, to help them know what to expect.
Ideally I think this would be a complement to the more general school subreddits for each age groups rather than replacing them. One thing I loved about /kindergarten was how specific it was to what we were dealing with. For example, what level of homework different schools expected, age-appropriate book suggestions, handling potential grade repeats, navigating new territory such as teacher gifts, etc.
This felt like it could be a way to avoid having to make a subreddit for each grade, while also being more targeted than some of the other options.

Hello! I'm a junior in high school. I wanted to put my stats so far so that you guys who are way more experienced could maybe help me start building a college list/see my chances of getting into a decent school. I am really new to this and I would appreciate any help I can get, no matter how little.
What I'm looking for in a college: in Massachusetts (I'd like to go to northeastern university like some of my relatives but I really don't know about my chances), somewhere that's close to or in the city but the student population is not too big (< 20k students), and looks nice! I'm looking to go on the pre-med track to become a PA though I'm not so sure yet.
GPA: 3.8 uw, 4.67 w (top 4% of 480 students)
Classes: 2 last year (all As, 5 and 4 on exams), 4 this year (all As and one B), 5 next year
SAT: (haven't taken yet, sorry I know it's important but I'm predicting 1400s cause I'm a bad test taker)
ECS:

• President of a mental health club outside of school that meets with a 30+ kids afterschool program once a week to host games, activities, and mental health discussions
• Co-president of a student ambassadors club that recruits 25+ volunteers to give tours to new students and host 9th-grade summer orientations, co-lead projects to make and distribute mental health pamphlets and resources for students, and I'm currently working with the city's student ambassador to host a mental health community workshop at city hall
• Editor-in-chief of school newspaper responsible for co-leading a class of student reporters in writing articles and designing the monthly paper
• Head of autumn peer tutoring program that recruited + led a group of 5+ tutors in helping underclassmen (5 hrs/week)

I'm not sure if I'm allowed on here but I'm a trans guy, though I've never taken testosterone. I've struggled with my body hair for a long time. Sometimes I actually liked having body hair, but it also made me self conscious because girls and women are expected to be hairless. But once I came to terms with my gender, I didn't have as much of a problem with it.
In the past 5 or so years, I've noticed quite an increase in hair, although that could just be due to puberty (I'm 22). The issue is that especially in the last couple of years my arm and leg hair has started getting much longer, coarser, more unruly, and almost frizzy? And they tend to stick up. They resemble some of the weird wiry hairs I tend to get on my head. For context, I have straight black hair, but I lots of hairs like this, which makes my hair look messy 24/7 no matter how much I brush it. I remember first getting them during a stressful time in 4th grade, then it went away, then came back around my last year of high school and it's been like that since. I always assumed it was stress but it might be hormone related. It bothers me cause they really do resemble pubes. Here's the hair on my arms. There were some hairs that were a lot coarser but I already trimmed those. Before my body hair was just straight and it laid flat so it didn't bother me as much. But now I'm seriously considering shaving my arms or getting laser.
However my main worry is that my hairline is thinning. Started around 4-5 years ago as well. The hair loss is concentrated near where my hair parts at the crown. It has very slowly gotten thinner over the years, but sped up quite a bit in the last 8 months or so. It may not look too bad at the moment if I style my hair correctly but I worry that it'll only get worse.
I don't understand why these things are happening. I've been hairy my whole life, but these changes are really odd to me. My T levels are normal, thyroid is normal, ovaries are normal. So no PCOS. I was diagnosed with Celiac about 2 years ago but I've been eating gluten free since and my blood work comes back clean.

This might not be a common case for a lot of people, I'm a skeptic as a whole on instances where someone 'undeniably knows they had an experience' in which they interacted with a ghost, spirit, or otherwise. When I was maybe 7 or 8, I went to a church school just north of London in Hertfordshire. It was a dull place to live, ADHD and generally feeling like I didn't fit in as a whole were factors that made it worse - but one day we went to the local church where we'd normally have a weekly service and did grave rubbings. We were each given a few sheets of paper, wax crayons, and were told to go into the graveyard, press the paper to the stone, and then rub the crayon over it so we could see what was written on the headstones. Some of the oldest ones went back 3-400 years, and if you went down towards the back of the graveyard, there were a lot of smaller graves. I still remember hearing a voice confidently asking "What are you doing that for?" looking over my shoulder, and seeing a boy - maybe a little younger than me, wearing a jacket, cap, high knee socks. I told him our teacher had asked us to make a rubbing, and to bring the paper back once we'd done so. He kneeled down, took a crayon, and started copying me, rubbing the edge of the crayon against the paper as the indents started becoming visible. As I said "you're good at that" I heard a voice from behind me, a girl who was in my class asking "Who are you talking to?" I turned back to look at her, looked back to where he was, and he was nowhere to be seen. The imprint from the paper was of a child's grave, around the age of the boy who'd stood next to me. I wish I could remember the name, the details, but I can't. And the papers were either thrown away or kept by my primary school (3rd/4th grade I think it is for Americans). I've thought back on that day multiple times over the years. Was I bored, did I make something up, was it looking for a friend in a moment where I felt isolated? Did I actually experience something, but I've just gotten that much older and more jaded without experiencing anything similar that I'm trying to write it off as 'kids being kids'? If anyone else has been through something comparable, or similar, would love to hear more stories - and more about you as well.

Heres my take on possible stock trade.
Rush Rare Metals, they have two properties Boxie "in Quebec" and Copper Mountain "Wyoming"

1. Boxie property has Niobium on it "check their presentation deck, however they have just finished doing some back pack drilling and more sampling. Previous samples hit as high as 27% grade as well Uranium is noted at the property with samples as high as 11%
2. WA1 Resources has gone parabolic on a niobium discovery, from 12c to over $22 in under two years. They were actually going after copper and gold, no traces of Niobium were ever found on the surface...they drilled and hit hole after hole.....now not saying its going to be a completely the same for RSH however the market reacted very well to a new discovery.
3. Boxie has 15km mineralized dyke, easy road access...they are just waiting for assays
4. Share structure is great, and they are keeping the spending on a low

Copper Mountain

1. Rush owns 100% of property unless Myraid spends 5.5mil, in the agreement first 50mil in revenue Rush get 50%
2. 2000 plus drill holes, 6 deposits noted, they were building a heap leach pad in the 80's before uranium took a dive, over 78 mil "usd" spent in previous efforts
3. This is not a new uranium exploration company, they have troves of data they are putting together, deposit could be 60mil plus pounds, could be the largest producer in America
4. 3/4 producing mines are in Wyoming

In conclusion, Boxie is a gamble on the Niobium 100%, however I always revert back to how the Aussies reacted to Niobium in WA1 ...2nd they have Copper Mountain...let me know what you think in the comments

When people ask about TPS, there’s many deeper questions to be asked in order to understand what we are buying into and it becomes very difficult to make apple to apples comparisons. This is why no metric is more misunderstood than TPS but I'm going to demystify it today.
TPS is largely dependent on hardware which is optimized by the blockchain software developers. The more performant the node hardware is, the larger blocks you can have, resulting in higher TPS. So let’s look at hardware first:
KOINOS VALIDATOR HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
Koinos debuted with a functional peak output of 450 TPS. This value is based on the following recommended hardware specifications:

• 8 Core CPU (i7 9700 or equivalent)
• 16GB RAM

These specifications are very typical for home based hardware making it easy for users to help decentralize the network by using their home PC. Because Koinos runs on Proof of Burn, the amount of electricity used to run a Koinos node is comparable to that of typical Proof of Stake networks. One of the key features that helped Koinos decentralized at launch was making the node hardware accessible to the average person. Let's take a look at Solana for comparison and see how that stacks up against Koinos.
SOLANA VALIDATOR HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
Solana’s functional peak output is about 1500 TPS depending on how you calculate it. There's been a lot of misdirection from the Solana team and the community in regards to their true TPS. Nonetheless, Solana still has the highest output of all blockchains and it effectively has 3x the TPS of Koinos. Their value is based on the following recommended hardware specifications:

• 12 Core/24 thread CPU (2.8ghz base clock or faster) limited to cpus with SHA extensions.
• 256GB RAM

For the record, Solana even states that running a validator on a cloud platform may not be cost effective over the long term. This is primarily due to the cost of renting equipment with high CPU and RAM specs. The SHA extention requirements are primarily found on server grade CPUs and not typical home based CPUs. Most people would need to purchase a specific machine to run a Solana node because its more performant than even typical high performance home machines.
HOW TPS IS TYPICAL MEASURED
In most cases, TPS is measured by sending tokens back and forth on the network and does not take into account the type of transactions being performed. For example the TPS tests were performed with NFT mints, the actual TPS would reduce because NFT mints require more resources than token transfers.
THE CONCLUSION
Obviously we can buy $SOL and go for the ride but if we're truly searching for deep value, we have critically think about how $KOIN can achieve similar if not, better TPS than Solana. For example, if the Koinos core software were optimized to run on Solana's hardware requirements, can Koinos compete with Solana? This means a 16x increase in RAM requirements and a 2x improvement on CPU performance.
The answer is an obvious yes because Koinos can simply increase the block size, decrease blocktime and force people to use higher spec hardware. This will put Koinos on par with Solana as far as TPS goes and you would still get zero fee transaction on Koinos and all of its great built in account abstraction abilities.
This is the type of deep value we're looking for when looking at Koinos.
