2024.05.21 13:29 livingonthelej Can I get out of my non-compete with the new FTC law?

I just signed a noncompete with a gym in May that states no working with competing businesses two years after my employment within 35 miles. I signed it because I felt like I had too but I’ve always had a dream of opening my own gym. Days after signing it, I was given an opportunity to possibly buy my own gym. I feel so ready and excited to take this opportunity but feel terrified about leaving my current job. I saw online that as of April this year the FTC is banning non-competes. Because it is a new rule I don’t fully understand if this is 100% going it happen, if it’s currently in effect, or if it’s not till 120 days after it was announced (by August) that I’d be free. Would this new noncompete law apply to me and allow me to quit my job and pursue buying a gym without any legal repercussions? Should I tell my bosses about this new law or just leave in August and not let them know why? How should I go about this the best way without burning any bridges?

2024.05.21 13:25 Throwitahtdawizzy I’m 40 and will never recover from this toxic habit my parents and family had when growing up.

As a grown man, I hate blaming my parents for issues I have. Compared to so many horror stories, my childhood, parents and family were wonderful. In general, I try to believe that people do the best they can with the resources they have and rarely have true malicious intent. Unfortunately, there is one “childhood trauma” that I am stuck with and I don’t see any way to get over it.
For as long as I can remember, my boomer parents and gen x siblings would absolutely torture me about girls. Like every girl I ever came into contact with from preschool on I would get the “oh that’s your giiiirrrrlllfrieend” crap. I was a sensitive, people-pleasing kid and this really bothered me. To make matters worse, My family had the awful habit of “making fun” of, quite literally, anyone on the planet. Too rich, too poor, imperfect physical features, race, ethnicity, religion, different style clothes, different interests or hobbies, nobody was safe.
I went through adolecence and young adulthood mostly terrified to interact with women. Just now am I getting to the point where I have actual platonic female friends. School dances and prom were major sources of stress. I had whole relationships in high school and college that I kept secret from my family, including a 3 year relationship with who I now consider to be the “love of my life.” How awful must these young women have felt that I was hiding them from my family? I’ll never forgive myself.
After college, I moved back home (see people pleaser comment above). A month later my longterm girlfriend broke up with me. Why? Because I was still hiding her from my family. I certainly can’t blame her and I hope she is living the life she deserves.
A hazy, drunken, depressed and miserable 7 or 8 years then ensued that frankly I’m lucky I survived. I was a total wreck on the inside but put together enough on the outside so as to not worry anyone. Good job, remained in shape, outwardly I was just a fun, drunk, party guy in his 20’s. No relationships. Any dates were to a bar. Very rare sexual encounters were risky, drunken, one or few night stand situations.
At 29 I started dating my now wife. After a few months of secret dating I fought through and introduced her to my family. I’m grateful that my wife pulled me out of the abyss. After a few months of dating I finally got my own apartment and started to live as an actual adult. We got engaged at a year and a half and married at two years. We’ve been married for 10 years. We have a house and two wonderful children. My thirties were far better than my 20s and 40’s are looking great so far. Except…..
Lately, I have not been able to shake feelings of regret or what might have been. While we get along, our marriage is like a business agreement. It works. We’re busy, the kids are busy, we don’t or can’t take time for ourselves, we are both constantly engaged in jobs, cooking, dishes, laundry, cleaning, kids activities, etc. We both tackle everything and neither of us is ever sitting or relaxing. It never seems like we can get ahead of things. My wife is totally codependent and cannot handle anything on her own. She also may be a hoarder in the making. She was diagnosed with OCD as a child and is probably somewhere else on spectrum, terrible anxiety, too. I’ve made all adjustments to accommodate her needs. New, self-employed job so I can control the schedule, no hobbies or friends, I am always available for her needs. She refuses to get any outside help with her mental health. It’s all on me. She’s miserable, always mad at something or somebody(her family tells me this is her historic personality and she’s just like other family members), always sick, she has gained well over 100lbs and the health issues that go with that are starting to creep in. More for me to deal with! Sex life is dead. Totally vanilla when it does happen-missionary with shirts and socks on. Multiple times over the past 5 years we have gone 8-12 months without intimacy. Any attempts to discuss these issues as adults are met with rage and blaming everyone else. Her position is basically that I married her and just have to live with whatever. She also knows I’ll never leave the kids(I’m not saying that’s the right call for everyone but it’s the right call for me).
Here’s the thing- I can handle a lot with a smile on my face. I am longing for those relationships I had in early adulthood where my SO actually wanted me to be happy sometimes instead of only living to serve her needs. I can’t get these ghosts of girlfriends past out of my head. Every single night I am having vivid dreams about them sexual and otherwise. Marriage with kids is a lot different than college relationships so who knows what could have been. For me, the unknown is what haunts me.

2024.05.21 13:25 Austechprep What items do you plan to salvage or scavenge?

I think this could be an interesting topic to consider what you expect to be left behind or untouched that is too expensive/impractical to buy now but could be very valuable to a long term SHTF.
It all depends on your SHTF scenario of coarse, mine tends to be extreme weather events leading to prolonged grid down, but for this topic it would need to be 1+ year grid down before I'd think it's ethical/acceptable to go scavenging (otherwise it's just looting) and I don't have plans for 1+ years, this topic is mostly just a bit of fun.
For me (given I'm a tech prepper):
A side question, how long until it's acceptable to scavenge, I figure 1 year with no signs of people returning is reasonable.

2024.05.21 13:24 Suitable_Cry_340 Depression/anxiety

Hey so this is a big rant but I need to get this off my chest and don't really have anyone in real life to talk about this stuff to.
I've had a string of bad luck recently in terms of an abusive relationship and moving homes, getting a restraining order against them, and being dropped by a close friend group unexpectedly a few months ago.
I've also become a total shut-in, I can't help but feel like everyone hates me or something like that even when I have no reason to believe that.. Maybe this is related to the friend group stuff and some unprocessed trauma I don't know but now I'm in this place where I really want friends and to have a solid friend group again but I'm losing the motivation to try as whenever I go out to events I'll have conversations with mutual friends and they always say something like "we gotta do something soon!" but the plans always fall through. I'm so over putting in effort and feeling like its one-sided or getting played, both platonic and romantic relationships.
I have people mention to me that I must be so busy all the time and that I must have lots of friends. I tell them I don't really have friends or that I feel like everyone hates me people are always really confused to hear it and say that it's actually the opposite, but I just can't shake that paranoia that people just put up with me to be polite or something. I've only felt this social anxiety this bad in this last year.
I am tired all the time, although I sleep a lot. I used to wake up early and sleep 7-8 hours, exercise, hang out with people, work 5 days a week, study well, and now I go to bed at 4am (I can't fall asleep well anymore) and then I wake up at midday, feel bad about myself for that, don't exercise anymore because I'm still tired, never hang out with anyone, and quit one of my jobs because my mental health got so bad at one point I couldn't work as well as I used to. So now I only work 1-2 shifts a week, which weirdly feels like the biggest effort. I have become so exhausted and lack any motivation to do anything nowadays.
This is all stressing me out because I'm finding it hard to focus with my studies which isn't the best timing because I've got exams in a month and I must do well this semester.
I just feel like a failure because I'm 22, am only just in my first year of a bachelor degree (I switched degrees recently so I have to restart my whole degree again), don't really have friends, not really on good terms or close with my family and haven't become good or skilled at anything because I'm so disorganised and tired all the time, I've got an ex who keeps harassing me and although I'm really trying to stay positive about it all I'm really feeling a bit like life keeps trying to turn me into a villain or something.
Just curious what everyone else does for their depression, anxiety, trauma etc?
Been dealing with bouts of all the above lately and the things I usually do (art, music) aren't really fixing it like they used to.

2024.05.21 13:24 Hopefullyanonymous2 Looking for highly efficient headlamp bulbs/models because of sweating issues

Hi, I run a small business and we use headlamps when prepping product because it helps reduce errors/speed up work. I recently went from my old standby of a decade+ which was a cheap coast with 3x AAA batteries (rechargeables) and a 3 strap headstrap to my first sofrin NBT-001 headlamp. Overall love it, love the better battery life, brightness etc. Only thing I don't love (and this was an issue with the coast) is the heat on my forehead (and employees) causes sweating which for them is irritating and for me with eczema is actively a health problem.
I ASSUME the more efficient a LED used in the light, the less heat produced relative to the lumens. I also would guess that going to a "side" mounted light like the SP-40 where the light floats away from my head would reduce the heat directly to my forehead?
Anyways, just curious ya'lls thoughts on a good solution. Mildly price conscious, but for the right tool I will spend the money.

2024.05.21 13:24 demxn Do I need to just give it time?

Sorry if the intro is a bit long, it's hard for me to explain how I feel.
I just turned 24 yesterday and for some reason I always feel like I'm out of time to build my career or that I'm too late to change paths. I've been working as a Data & Analytics consultant for almost 2 years (will be 2 years in September) at one of the Big4 companies. Not that it means much to me. I feel like in these 2 years I haven't really achieved much and instead I've lost quite a lot of confidence in myself and my abilities.
I studied Applied Statistics (4 years degree, finished summer 2022) and although I didn't get a very high average grade (7/10), I still got high grades in important subjects like Advanced Prediction, Time Series, etc. To mainly rebuild my confidence in my abilities I thought this year I could study a masters degree and that would also help build my CV and value(?). I was confused as to whether I should take a MSc in Biostatistics or something towards Business, and finally I chose the later one because I believe there are more jobs (at least in my country) in this area.
I've been reached out a few times to apply to other companies and I've gone through some recruitment processes, but I always self sabotage. This happened last December with an offer from another consultant company to join as a Junior Data Scientist. I really wanted this job but I thought I was not enough and I didn't prepare the interviews, and left the process after the worst interview I've ever done.
Yesterday another company called and told me if I wanted to begin a recruitment process with them and I said "sure, why not", so apparently that will happen, I haven't been reached out yet, not sure if I actually want to.
So my lines of thought are these: 1 - should I take this opportunity seriously? The reasons I'm not sure of changing jobs are: - If I leave my job before July, my summer pay will be lower and winteChristmas pay with the new company will also be even lower. - The salary they offer is not much higher, around 200€ monthly after taxes. - I'm not sure if changing from a Big4 to a company with less renown will impact my CV, considering I would like to maybe move abroad in a future (let's say to the UK, for example) - I'm not sure if this could impact my ability to study my masters degree. - I'm not sure this company will actually offer me interesting data projects in which I could improve my skills or learn new ones, or if they'll just want me to create a Power BI dashbord.
2 - Reason I would like to change jobs: - My decrease in self confidence due to having to do tasks not related to my field and that I consider useless (as in, it is making me forget about some of the skills I had and not letting me learn new ones), and having no prospect of leaving the project I am any time soon. - I'd like to have a higher salary so that I can keep on increasing my savings. - I'm tired of my dramatic boss and would like my opinion to matter more. - I want to become a Data Scientist and don't think following this path will lead me there, but also think until I don't build a portfolio and have a MS degree I won't be taken seriously.
TL;DR: Currently working as Data Consultant, planning on studying a master's degree in September, worried if I change my company it'll impact my ability to study. Final goal is to become a data scientist. For some unknown reason I feel rushed to achieve everything as soon as possible.
So, should I just give it time? Stay in my company until I have achieved my masters degree and then look for new opportunities that would lead me to becoming a Data Scientist? Or should I change jobs to have more experience in different data projects without knowing if I will actually find a different situation or if it'll be the same just in another company?
Also, I'd appreciate advice on becoming more self confident in my skills and more proactive.
Thank you in advance.

2024.05.21 13:22 Riksis_LV Starting a custom drinkware engraving business

Hello all!
I've been pondering for some time starting a laser engraving business. I've not yet ordered a laser, but there seems to be few options in different price ranges. However, I wanted to know any tips from someone who has done something similar? Like:
1.) How do you come up with designs to offer?
2.) What are the best sales channels in the beginning (FB/IG/shoppify store, etc.)?
3.) How do you price items?
4.) Is alibaba okay for sourcing for example wine tumblers?
5) Any other tips for starting?
If it helps, I'm based in Latvia, and currently working an office job of about 40hrs a week. Been looking for a way out for some time, but at the moment just trying to find a way to supplement my income with a side hustle.

2024.05.21 13:22 Frequent-Telephone77 4 Important Trends In Blue Ocean Marketing Strategy

Can you imagine life on planet Earth without YouTube, X, Facebook, and smartphones? No, right?
Although these technologies have recently come into the BIG picture, the world in the past couple of decades has significantly changed by them. These new changes shifted us from 'like we used to live' to 'living in the connected world'.
In the world, where organizations operate in the private section, there is a public section and the non-profit sector. These areas are growing and the challenge is to come up with strategies that can drive the firms forward. There is a rising need in every organization for a blue ocean marketing strategy.
In other words, there is a challenge of 'value innovation'. And, blue ocean marketing strategy is the solution.
Here are 4 key trends that you'd like to know, as it happens around us.
Trend #1: Demand For Creative New Solutions
Strategies that worked a couple of years ago are obsolete in today's fast-paced world. Just look at the broad swath of industries that have recently surfaced. In the last couple of years, these industries have been seriously called to task out what once thought was impossible.
They had hardly any time in their hand to strategies to stay relevant and to achieve innovative value at lower costs.
One of the examples is healthcare. Its cost has risen more than 60% in the last decade.
Trend 2: Influencer Economy and Social 'Power Users'
Is it hard to believe that there are more successful people now than ever in the history? But only ten years back, it would still be unbelievable. The surge in social sites, vlogs, blogs, micro-blogs, etc. has become so common that it has shifted the power and credibility of voice from BIG GIANTS to you and me aka ordinary individuals.
Today everyone has access to broadcast their opinion and connect with an infinite number of people. Only Facebook has more than 1.4 billion users to connect and share your story in between groups that are safe and authentic. Around a decade ago, Facebook was just not as popular as now. Take Twitter, I mean X, it has changed so much. Thanks to Elon.
To be a winner, you have to learn from the winner of the new reality. It doesn't mean that you have to get it all at once. A premium offer for your audience should be a good start. That's what gets people calling you to listen to your offering. You can also leverage social media to do it.
Trend #3: Locational Shift In Future Demand & GROWTH PERSPECTIVE
There is a reason why America, Europe, and Japan are taking a backseat when it comes to being the largest economy. Don't get me wrong, America is still the number #1, but China has jumped from tenth to second-largest economy in the world. And, India too has joined the list of the top 10 largest economies in the world.
However, please note that these are two categories of big emerging markets. The previous one had a relatively high per capita income. The new one is still developing. This makes it important for organizations to offer an affordable cost. It's a more critical factor now than ever before! Without this, you as a small business or brand won't be able to unlock the full potential of the demand.
But not to be fooled. Low cost alone isn't just the key factor. These new big emerging markets have a large population and access to the internet, mobile phones, and other tech that raise their sophistication, demand, and desires. So, to capture these savvy customers' heads, hearts, and habits.
Trend $4: The Easiness Of Becoming A Global Player
Lastly, on the scale of a hundred years, the major players came from America, Europe, and Japan. But now this is changing at a remarkable speed. Over the last decade, the number of GIANT from China in the Fortune Global 500 has risen 20x, from India it's 8x, and there is 2x the number of Latin American companies.
This means that these big emerging markets will not only represent oceans of new demand but also represent oceans of new potential competitors with ambitions to touch the sky and go beyond.
The companies from their big emerging markets are just the tip of the iceberg. In the last decade, there has been a paradigm shift in the cost and ease of becoming a global player, no matter where you are from!
With hundreds of websites being created every single minute, any organization can no longer afford to downplay this trend. Today people from anywhere can raise funding, and make a website, and connect with millions of users.
Then there are search engines - aka global business directories and more - that are free. As from a confession of an advertiser, today you can market your offering for free, or with a low entry cost you can become a global player. While, of course, these trends aren't just the passcode to crack the code of becoming a global player. They can certainly intensify global competition. To stand out from the crowd you'd still need to be creative through value innovation.
Today, the challenges and opportunities we are facing are fascinating. These four trends may help you create blue oceans - because it's not just for business - it's for arts, non-profits, public sectors, and even brands.

2024.05.21 13:21 TKmo_on How to best invest in my future? 29, Melbourne

Hi, I feel like I haven't been doing everything I could be for my future.
Current situation:
After uni, I spent 5 years abroad teaching English, traveling etc before coming back during covid to decide to start building up towards my future. Got into some more teaching at an early learning centre when I was back but the pay was really bad and I was overworked.
I went back and did a free TAFE IT course last year. Finished in December and started a job in IT. Earning just over 70k in an entry level role. Decided this is what I wanted to be doing more than what I was previously doing since I enjoy it so much.
Renting in a share house around 30 minutes from the CBD and I really enjoy being close to everything. I'm more of a city person than a nature/country person.
Got around 24K in HECs atm.
I inherited 100k last year and put it in a HISA.
My personal savings is around 36k and I just started a new savings account to save for travelling since I haven't been able to go for years and got around 2k in there.
Just started a small business selling my art at markets this year. I've only gone once so far but looking to invest a bit to improve what I'm selling and then make it a more regular side hustle with an online store as well.
I don't drink and I'll go out and have a meal with a friend here and there but I generally like to stay home and do my indoor hobbies.
I'm 29 and single, living in Melbourne and ideally I would like to stay here. I'd really like to own a home some day and stop renting eventually. Knowing what it's like in Melbourne and that I don't wanna live too far from everything, I'm really fine to live in an apartment or townhouse.

CPU - Following the graphics card, the processor stands as the second most pivotal element in your gaming laptop. Although the GPU generally bears the brunt of gaming demands, the CPU significantly influences overall system performance and holds the potential to bottleneck the GPU's capabilities. Gaming laptops housing more robust GPUs are often accompanied by 8-core processors. In the mid-range spectrum spanning $400 to $800, you'll typically find quad-core CPUs. While dual-core CPUs can handle gaming, they aren't optimal since sustaining boosted clock speeds might not always be achievable.

RAM is generally the most straightforward laptop component to upgrade. So, if you're working with a tight budget, you have the option to choose a laptop with lower RAM and later upgrade it yourself. Overspending on RAM is unnecessary; 16 GB is sufficient for gaming. However, considering 32 GB can provide future-proofing for your laptop.
Storage-wise, if your budget permits, it's advisable to select a laptop equipped with an SSD for storage. An SSD can significantly enhance a laptop's speed, particularly when compared to an HDD. This translates to reduced boot times and quicker load times, resulting in noticeably improved performance.

2024.05.21 13:20 Think_Traffic5083 Devious Liars & Master Manipulators

Devious people who lie and manipulate others are weak people who prey upon the naiveté of people with a low self-esteem and low self-worth. The user and the used both are weak and attract one another. The user does not believe they can get anyone to love the real them. They, therefore, pray upon those with no hope, a low self-esteem or low self-worth, because they can only get what they want by lying to and deceiving the weak with a phony image of what they want to hear. Many politicians do this with their constituents who have no hope by making them believe it’s someone else’s fault for their lack of success or abundance. Since people don’t want to take personal responsibility for their own lives and success, they give their power away to those who prey upon their own weaknesses and fears. You must participate in your own rescue by standing up for yourself, deciding what you want, resolving to take action to obtain and manifest what you want, as well as rejecting false prophets who peddle bullshit which is never backed up by any real action or deeds.
You see this a lot in every election cycle. You usually have candidates on one side who are more self-reliance focused and creating the conditions were people can reach their full potential, and you have another group of politicians who are always telling people, 'You're a victim. It's not your fault that you're not successful. It's not your fault that you don't have enough money—it's those evil rich people. It's this evil group over here that's keeping you from your dreams, and I'm going to make things fair, and I'm going to solve all your life's problems.'
People that buy into that load of bullshit then give all their power away and ability to change their own lives and their trajectory of where they're going to end up in life. Because then they become passive, and they sit and wait, they stay in a shitty job because they've been told they’re a victim, and they come to believe that they’re a victim. And then they become powerless. They literally create a story that affects everything they do or failed to do to get the things that they want in life. You don't get what you deserve in life, you're only going to get what you negotiate.
You have to participate in your own rescue. If you're not happy—whether it's your relationship, or your peer group, or where you work, or with your business partners, whatever it happens to be—it's up to you the change it.

2024.05.21 13:20 TheOriginalTemp_ BCT in 13 days

Alrighty, I’ve made a post similar when I first enlisted back in October. Basic Training, what to expect? I know there’s phases in which towards the end it’s easy running. My main questions consist of: What’s the chonies situation? Do you bring your own underwear? What’s the general rundown of reception? How’s the peanut butter shot. How does PG work in basic? How frequently do you have to recite the general orders or the soldiers creed out loud? Shoes? Can you bring your own? I’ve heard you get a small amount of cash when you get there to get some shitty ones. Phone usage? What’s that like. Letter writing? Hows that work. Downtime? I’m assuming there’s little to none and the downtime you do get you’d wanna use to sleep right? And finally, I’ve seen my peers in RSP drill who are in between BCT and AIT and I’ve noticed that hey, if they’ve gotten through it, I sure as hell can. So, is the difficulty sourced from how much effort you put? Like outdoing your platoon? Running farther than the rest? Speaking louder? Yelling louder? I’ve heard of trophies at the end. How can I get those

2024.05.21 13:19 Viral-conclusionz8 Rational plan and fast build up is way better than life time discrepancies

The notion that a rational plan and a fast build-up are preferable to lifetime discrepancies centers on the benefits of structured, efficient progress versus prolonged, inefficient efforts. Here's an analysis of this perspective:

Rational Planning and Fast Build-Up

  1. Efficiency: A rational plan allows for efficient allocation of resources, time, and effort. By having a clear roadmap, one can avoid unnecessary detours and wasted efforts.
  2. Goal-Oriented: With a rational plan, objectives are clearly defined. This ensures that every step taken is aligned with the ultimate goal, leading to faster and more effective outcomes.
  3. Predictability: A well-constructed plan provides predictability. It allows for anticipation of potential challenges and the development of strategies to address them, reducing the risk of unforeseen issues.
  4. Motivation and Momentum: Quick build-up keeps momentum and motivation high. Achieving short-term milestones boosts morale and provides tangible proof of progress, encouraging continued effort.
  5. Resource Optimization: By focusing efforts and resources in a structured manner, waste is minimized. This leads to a more cost-effective and sustainable development process.

Lifetime Discrepancies

  1. Prolonged Uncertainty: Discrepancies and delays over a lifetime create uncertainty. This can lead to constant adjustments, rework, and a lack of clear direction.
  2. Inefficiency: Without a coherent plan, efforts can become fragmented and disjointed. This often results in redundant work and missed opportunities.
  3. Wasted Resources: Extended timelines often mean higher costs and wasted resources. Time, money, and human capital are often expended on efforts that may not directly contribute to the end goal.
  4. Frustration and Burnout: Continuous discrepancies and lack of progress can lead to frustration and burnout. This negatively impacts morale and productivity.
  5. Opportunity Costs: The longer it takes to achieve goals, the more opportunities are missed. Rapid build-up allows for quicker adaptation to market changes and technological advancements.

Practical Implications

Conclusion

A rational plan and fast build-up provide a structured, efficient, and effective approach to achieving goals, while lifetime discrepancies often lead to inefficiency, wasted resources, and prolonged uncertainty. Embracing a rational, planned approach enables quicker adaptation, resource optimization, and sustained progress.

2024.05.21 13:19 ThrowRAflowers8 Need Advice: Feeling Neglected in My Relationship 25F / 30M

Hey everyone,
I’m a 25F seeing 30M, and we’ve been together for about 5 months. When we see each other doing that around once a month depending on schedule as he lives 18hours from me, it’s great and I think I’m falling in love with him we text every day, even if it’s just a small conversation. However, I’m struggling and need some advice.
In the beginning, we would call each other about once a week, but now, whenever I suggest setting up a call, he either ignores the message or says he forgot. We’ve tried setting specific times to call, but he’s often too busy with work or too tired (he works a lot, and I understand how busy he can be).
I’m starting to feel a bit neglected, like I’m not as much of a priority for him as he is for me. It makes me feel stupid and pathetic when I wait up for him, only to find out he’s too tired, already asleep, or still working. I even suggested he call me during the day, but he said that would be worse. I also hate how I’m the one always saying hey let’s call maybe and I don’t want to appear clingy or needy.
I know he calls his friends, so it hurts that he can’t seem to make time for me. I don’t know where to go from here. Should I talk to him about how I’m feeling again? Am I overreacting? Any advice on how to handle this situation would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

2024.05.21 13:17 Glum_Flamingo3403 Can a dependent/spouse visa holder work in a different city than the main applicant?

I am the main applicant, and my wife got a dependant visa that allows her to live and work in Sweden. During the dependent visa application, i had to show the proof of residency.
Now my wife has gotten a job in another city..and she plans to continue to work on her dependent visa.
will there be an issue later during her spouse visa extension if she is not registered in the same address as me?.. (although we plan to visit each other every weekend and can show proof of that.)
please help.

2024.05.21 13:17 Routine_Persimmon69 1st post, starting to feel I cause all the arguments.

This will ramble and I’m sorry. Back in 2019 he would drink shooters of vodka all the time. He would before work, after work. He lied to me about smoking week for 26 weeks (so specific…I know because I was pregnant)….1st went to a couples therapy, he said it wasn’t worth it. Us. We have a son together. He said he would be better and stop drinking so much. So first cycle starts and he doesn’t…then it slowly increases. He got a dui in a company truck for drinking and driving, this was about 10 in the morning. This was to try to get back into an apprenticeship for welding, so he was working at a low pay but for a foot in the door. That obviously then was done. I was so upset mad and sad. I go visit him for the next few days in jail, and then picked him up when he was released. It begin again…..he started a new job because we moved about 40 miles from where we were. He worked 2nd shift. I went to bed and he’d always come in smelling like vodka. It even did in our room in the morning. He got suspended for a day for taking a shot of vodka at work for lunch. He says he’ll stop drinking so much…and does, cycle begins. It “appeared” he had….this was then in 2021 I believe. Every time though he had one beer it definitely seems as if he had more. After awhile I went to our gas station in town (we live in a small town) and simply went to the counter and said, “hey, what type of vodka does ** drink again, I forgot?” And then the girl goes “oh he usually gets this, but usually not just one, usually it’s at least 3(shooters)…I can go get you some in the back if you want?”……I said no, so buying shooters all the time in the morning, no wonder at night he always seems he had been drinking. I looked in his truck glove compartment, empty vodka bottle. In his other car center council, 3 full shooters. I didn’t tell him if my discoveries. That day I left for the day, came back home bottles empty when I saw his car at the bar, said he was just stopping by. I go home he comes home seeming way drunk. He said he’s not he’s only had 1 or 2. I brought up the shooters and my gas station discovery. He is pissed. Fight fight. Okay I’ll stop drinking so much. Come Christ of last year I asked him if he’d help wrap a few present so had left. He said sure. Comes in the bedroom appearing as though drinking more then just the can of 25oz beer in his hand. He said he had just chugged another one a min ago, and also drank some NyQuil like it was a glass of juice. I’m sad he is drinking everyday, I’ll stop doing it. I’m almost done. Within the last 4 months, he has been drinking less….except when he starts drinking everyday I call him out. Found shooters again. Yesterday I found out he took coins from our 5 year olds piggy bank ONLY A DOLLAR FIFTY (as he says). Also says it was months ago he feels bad about it, but it was months ago and “I’m doing so much better”.
A majority if not all when confronted or brought up about alcohol, it’s about the same thing. It’s my fault you drink If you wouldn’t be who you are we’d have no problems We don’t have problems in our relationship, you are the problem. Mocks me about my anxiety and depression Tells me it’s my fault for his actions (such as drinking then leaving to go to store quick backs up hits a pole and he is side mirror breaks off.) among other things. I am the problem and just need to relax. I am crazy. You need to stop causing arguments.
And, next day or 2 days later apologies and says he didn’t mean those and he feels bad and embarrassed.
So. Happened last night because of finding out he took all the silver coins out of sons piggy bank, to by shooters, says I’m over reacting and he’s sorry he did it, but it was months ago so I need to move on because he’s doing soooo much better(he says this but says he doesn’t have a problem)…I can’t get upset or feel it’s horrible, because it was months ago. “You caused this agrument”. Btw anytime I mention (not yelling) it’s always an argument to him.
Good morning. If you read this I thank you. I already have anxiety and depression issues and this is making it worse. I love him though and don’t want to leave him.

2024.05.21 13:16 MacSavvy21 I’m sick of second shift getting paid more for causing us problems on purpose.

Second shift here is a massive fucking joke. It’s horrific. We come in to a massive disaster. Orders are not done right. The stuff that is done is laughable. Our equipment is broken or not charged so we can do our jobs in the morning. People are being trained by people who make constant mistakes. They have begun hiring people who can barely read English or speak English and then these people make a massive amount of mistakes and get no correction AND WE ARE THE INES WHO ARE FORCED TO FIX THEIR MISTAKES. Their supervisor lets them get away with EVERYTHING. They’re on the floor 20 mins or more before their shift starts hoarding all the small orders so we have nothing to do before the end of our shift as well as blocking us from doing our job. Then they take extra long lunch breaks. They take an hour and 30 mins breaks at a time when they get 15, 30 and 15. Then they leave a bunch of stuff that they were supposed to do for us the next day. One of the lady’s that just retired from that shift went and told HR about all this bullshit. She even said that a particular few people purposefully unplug shit and fuck with things and made life hell for her and another lady that just retired as well when they were just trying to do work. I could keep going. My boss and I worked 10’s all 7 days in one week to catch us up and correct things which gets all fucked up in one night of second shift being there. We literally had a mental break down together. Rules for us but not for them. Btw. The numbers reflect all of this but nobody is doing shit about it. Then both first and second get talked to and mandated for Friday bc we are “not enough putting out enough work”. Like. EXCUSE ME?!?! We are all constantly working. And we know for a fact all second does is fuck around bc the only honest people on second told us how bad it is. Rant over. I could go on for hours… im just sick of us getting paid almost 2 bucks less for doing all the work while second fucks around.

2024.05.21 13:16 AcceptableMail2684 Digital Marketing Course in Chennai

In today's fast-paced, technology-driven world, digital marketing has emerged as a crucial strategy for businesses aiming to reach a wider audience and drive growth. Whether you're a small business owner, a marketing professional, or an aspiring entrepreneur, understanding digital marketing is essential. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the fundamentals of digital marketing, the key components, and the steps to build a successful digital marketing strategy.
Understanding Digital Marketing
Digital marketing encompasses all marketing efforts that use the internet or an electronic device. Businesses leverage digital channels such as search engines, social media, email, and websites to connect with current and prospective customers. Unlike traditional marketing, digital marketing offers the advantage of targeting a specific audience with personalized and measurable campaigns.
The Core Components of Digital Marketing
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
SEO is the process of optimizing your website to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). The higher your site ranks, the more visible it becomes to users searching for relevant keywords. SEO involves on-page tactics like keyword optimization and off-page strategies like backlink building.
Content Marketing
Content is king in digital marketing. Content marketing involves creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and engage a clearly defined audience. This can include blog posts, videos, infographics, podcasts, and more.
Social Media Marketing
Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn provide businesses with the opportunity to connect with their audience on a personal level. Social media marketing involves creating content tailored to the platform and engaging with followers to build a community around your brand.
Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising
PPC is a model of internet marketing where advertisers pay a fee each time one of their ads is clicked. Google Ads is the most popular PPC platform, allowing businesses to bid on keywords so their ads appear at the top of search results.
Email Marketing
Despite the rise of social media, email marketing remains a highly effective channel for reaching customers. It involves sending targeted emails to prospects and customers to build relationships, promote products, and drive conversions.
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing strategy where businesses reward affiliates for driving traffic or sales through their marketing efforts. Affiliates use their own channels, such as blogs or social media, to promote the business's products or services.
Influencer Marketing
Influencer marketing leverages the popularity and trust that influencers have with their audience to promote products or services. Influencers can range from celebrities to niche content creators who have a dedicated following.
Building a Successful Digital Marketing Strategy
Creating an effective digital marketing strategy involves several key steps:
Define Your Goals
Start by defining clear, measurable goals. Whether it's increasing website traffic, generating leads, or boosting sales, having specific objectives will guide your strategy and help you measure success.
Understand Your Audience
Knowing your audience is crucial. Conduct market research to understand their demographics, interests, and online behavior. Create buyer personas to represent your ideal customers and tailor your marketing efforts to meet their needs.
Choose the Right Channels
Not all digital marketing channels will be right for your business. Choose the channels that align with your goals and where your audience is most active. For example, if your target audience is professionals, LinkedIn might be more effective than Instagram.
Develop High-Quality Content
Content is at the heart of digital marketing. Develop a content plan that includes a mix of blog posts, videos, social media updates, and email newsletters. Ensure your content is valuable, relevant, and engaging.
Optimize for SEO
Implement SEO best practices to improve your website's visibility in search engines. Conduct keyword research to identify the terms your audience is searching for and incorporate them into your content.
Leverage Social Media
Create a social media strategy that includes regular posting, engaging with followers, and using paid advertising to reach a broader audience. Use analytics tools to track performance and adjust your strategy as needed.
Utilize Email Marketing
Build an email list and segment your audience to send targeted campaigns. Personalize your emails and provide value to keep subscribers engaged. Use A/B testing to optimize your email content and design.
Invest in PPC Advertising
PPC can drive immediate traffic and leads. Set a budget, conduct keyword research, and create compelling ad copy. Monitor your campaigns closely and make adjustments to improve performance.
Measure and Analyze
Use analytics tools like Google Analytics to track the performance of your digital marketing efforts. Analyze the data to understand what’s working and what’s not, and make data-driven decisions to optimize your strategy.
Stay Updated
Digital marketing is constantly evolving. Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and best practices by following industry blogs, attending webinars, and participating in online courses.
The Future of Digital Marketing
As technology continues to advance, digital marketing will become even more sophisticated. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning will play a significant role in personalizing marketing efforts and automating tasks. Voice search optimization and interactive content will also become increasingly important.
Businesses that stay ahead of the curve by embracing these trends and continually refining their digital marketing strategies will be well-positioned for success.
Conclusion
Digital marketing offers unparalleled opportunities for businesses to reach and engage with their target audience. By understanding the core components and following a strategic approach, you can harness the power of digital marketing to achieve your business goals. Whether you’re just starting or looking to enhance your existing efforts, this comprehensive guide provides the foundation you need to succeed in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
