2024.05.22 01:32 Horror_Plankton8460 Recent grad & can't get interviews

Been getting a lot of rejection letters, and while I know it's partly due to the current market, I still think it needs some work. Any advice/criticisms would be greatly appreciated.
Also, not sure how to format the capstone project, as it was supposed to simulate an internship with students getting matched to different clients and completing a project for them. It was about 15 hours/week with meetings with analysts and other things an intern would do. (Professors not involved besides the end of the project where our clients submitted evaluations of our work) I was advised by some to list it as experience (including some students that did and got jobs) but I feel it's misleading since I wasn't an official employee.

2024.05.22 01:29 Muted_Rule_5610 Question

So there is a home that is 599,000 and I was approved for 500,000 and if I'm absolutely pushing it my lender said I can 510-515,000 but I wanted to ask if it's unreasonable to put like 510,000 as an offer for the house my realtor is saying it's a pretty low offer and it's likely to get rejected immediately the house has been listed for 30 days but it's not selling because in the price range of like 600k there are nicer homes and the reason my agent is saying they won't accept my offer is that in the description of the house on Zillow it says the house is appraised for 605k so my agent seems to think for that reason they wouldn't give it for 510,000 l'm a first time home buyer and I wanted to get some thoughts before I send in my offer and how can I make my offer appealing to the sellers (don't say a love letter because my realtor said it's not a good idea 😭😭)

2024.05.22 01:24 thesayke PSA: Palestinian-ism is a fascist ideology. Biden not embracing it shouldn't be surprising. Here's why

Fascism has a number of essential characteristics but the most distinct is palingenetic ultranationalism: The myth that the nation is an organic body composed of a downtrodden but authentic "common people" who have been betrayed, victimized, and derived of land and money by out-groups (especially Jews, LGBT folks, immigrants, and liberals), and the nation must be reborn and grown larger, phoenix-like, from the ashes of its downtrodden state through the cleansing fire of violence against those out-groups and their allies (especially their allies among the "common people") and the seizure of their land and property, regardless of how many "common people" must be sacrificed in this process of violent "purification"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palingenetic_ultranationalism
Palestinian nationalism has all these definitional features. Its central myth is that "the Palestinians" (whose language, Arabic, lacks the letter P) have been betrayed, oppressed, and deprived of their land and money by Jews, and "Palestine" must be reborn and grown larger, phoenix-like, from the ashes of its current corrupt theocracy through the cleansing fire of violence against Jews, LGBT people, and liberals (especially liberal Arabs who believe in co-existence with Jews and LGBT people), and all those who support them, regardless of how many human shields, child soldiers, and hospitals with bunkers underneath them must be sacrificed in this process of purification
This Palestinian ideological mythos entirely reverses victim and perpetrator
In the real world, there is an extensive and well corroborated archeological record (starting with the Merneptah Stele) showing the continuous residence of the indigenous Jewish inhabitants in the land between the river and the sea, but that Stele alone independently establishes their presence for at least the last 3200 years
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merneptah_Stele
In contrast, the Arab-Israeli conflict started relatively recently, with the battle of Tel Hal on March 1st 1920, when an Arab militia attacked the Jewish-owned farms at Tel Hal in an attempt to find French soldiers, eventually burning it to the ground. Prior to that there was no organized violence between Arabs and Israelis in the region:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tel_Hai
The next incident in the Arab-Israel conflict was the Nebi Musa riots a month later, on April 8th 1920, when Amin al-Husayni (who later allied with the Nazis and was a big fan of Hitler) gave an incendiary speech from the balcony of the Arab Club, kicking off what resulted in an Muslim mob of around 60,000 ransacking of the Jewish quarter of Jerusalem:
https://www.palquest.org/en/historictext/6709/palin-commission-report
That's what started the war. It started with Arab people committing mob violence against Jewish people and that has never stopped to this day. Genocide is what Nazi and Communist-inspired Arab mobs and armies have repeatedly tried to do to the indigenous Jewish people of the land between the river and the sea, starting from the 1920 Nebi Musa riots, and continuing on through 1948, 1967, 1973, 1982, 1987, 2000, and most recently on October 7th
They keep trying to eradicate Jewish people off the land their ancestors lived in continuously for thousands of years, they keep getting their asses kicked every time they try it, and they deserve it every time they do
This makes sense when you understand the history of the region, and how Arab-ness was imposed by force (along with Islam) by multiple relatively historically recent waves of conquering Muslim settler-colonists
The Ottoman Empire was the culmination of those waves of Muslim settler-colonists, and after World War I it collapsed and in much of the Middle East was followed by Pan-Arab nationalism, which was a remarkably Nazi project. The founder of modern Palestinian religious nationalism (Amin al Husseini) was a close ally and personal friend of Hitler
https://time.com/4084301/hitler-grand-mufi-1941/
https://www.timesofisrael.com/full-official-record-what-the-mufti-said-to-hitle
After waging and escalating series of genocidal pogroms against the indigenous Jewish people (culminating in their alliance with the Nazis in World War II) and getting their asses kicked, Palestinian nationalism (as distinct from pan-Arab nationalism) emerged a fundamentally Soviet project
That is not an exaggeration. 100 years ago most people in the region defined themselves as Ottoman, by their village, or by their religion. Arab nationalism is a relatively new socially constructed weapon, made up by unambiguous fascists (like Sati Al-Husri, Abdulrahman Badawi, and Amin al-Husseini) and communists (like Fawaz Taraboulsi or Suhayl Idris) to mobilize hate against and justify the murder of their imperfect but much more reasonable democratic enemies (who also happened by the enemies of the Nazis and Soviets)
https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/israel-middle-east/articles/liberation-arabs-global-left
Palestinian nationalism, as opposed to Arab nationalism, was created by the KGB after the repeated defeats of the USSR's Arab-nationalist proxies in 1948 and 1967. The blueprint for the PLO Charter was drafted in Moscow in 1964 and was approved by 422 Palestinian representatives hand-selected by the KGB. At that time, the USSR was in the business of creating "people’s liberation" fronts. The KGB founded the PLO as well as the National Liberation Army of Bolivia in 1964 led by Ernesto "Che" Guevara, and the National Liberation Army of Colombia in 1965
The “Palestinian Liberation Army” was contrived by the KGB, much like the KGB devised the Bolivian National Liberation Army, Greek People's Liberation Army, Malayan National Liberation Army, etc etc. It created this Arab army in the early 1960s following the failure of the troops of various Soviet-puppet-ruled Arab states to destroy Israel. The KGB drafted the Palestinian National Charter and handpicked the 422 members of the PLO council that approved it. As the KGB's director said at the time, "We needed to instill a Nazi-style hatred for the Jews throughout the Islamic world, and to turn this weapon of the emotions into a terrorist bloodbath against Israel". Likewise, both the Palestine National Covenant and Palestinian Constitution were drafted in Moscow
https://stanfordreview.org/deception-palestinian-nationalism/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_involvement_in_regime_change
The most popular Palestinian faction currently, Hamas, pointedly opposes multi-ethnic pluralistic democracy. That's what Israel already is and they hate it. Hamas also explicitly opposes a two-state solution, wants to expel and murder Jews, and impose an Islamic theocracy by force
The founding covenant of Hamas, which they created their terrorist organization around in 1988, opens with a message that precisely encapsulates Hamas’s master plan. Quoting Hassan al-Banna, the Egyptian founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, of which Hamas is a constituent member (Article 2), the document proclaims, “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”
After some general explanatory language about Hamas’s religious foundation and noble intentions, the covenant comes to the Islamic Resistance Movement’s raison d’ĂȘtre: the slaughter of Jews. “The Day of Judgement will not come about,” it proclaims, “until Moslems fight the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and k-ll him.”
Article 11 spells out why this annihilation of Jews is required. Palestine is described as an “Islamic Waqf”—an endowment predicated on Muslim religious, education, or charitable principles and therefore inviolate to any other peoples or religions. Accordingly, the territory that now encompasses Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank is:
consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up
This Waqf remains as long as earth and heaven remain. Any procedure in contradiction to Islamic Sharia, where Palestine is concerned, is null and void.
In sum, any compromise over this land, including the moribund two-state solution, much less coexistence among faiths and peoples, is forbidden.

And Hamas has the support of somewhere between 65-80% of the Palestinian people
https://www.awrad.org/en/article/10719/Wartime-Poll-Results-of-an-Opinion-Poll-Among-Palestinians-in-the-West-Bank-and-Gaza-Strip
To understand the Palestinian strategy in this latest phase of their forever war, see here:
How Hamas Uses Civilians as a Weapon - The Dark Side of Clausewitzian War
https://deadcarl.substack.com/p/how-hamas-uses-civilians-as-a-weapon
Both Palestinian leadership and street have repeatedly acting as willing pawns, first of the Nazis, then of the Soviets, and now of the contemporary fascist Axis that includes Russia, China, and Iran. The historical Palestinian embrace of Nazi, Soviet, Islamist, and modern Axis fascism (and their rejection of democracy and equal rights) only makes their rationale for doing do so, and the nature of their project, more clear
In this context, Biden's support for Israel should not be surprising. Palestinian-ism is fascist, and everyone who understands and opposes fascism should oppose it

2024.05.22 01:22 mot_lionz Irvine City Council Mayor Farrah Khan and Vice Mayor Larry Agran called out in Daily Journal

Irvine City Council Mayor Farrah Khan and Vice Mayor Larry Agran called out in Daily Journal
Local leaders matter now more than ever
City Councils are attempting to direct U.S. foreign policy and override the authority of local police, with some officials promoting hate and anti-Israel foreign policy inside City Hall.
City Councils are usurping power. Engaging in subnational diplomacy, these officials are attempting to direct U.S. foreign policy and override the authority of local police. Candidates for local elections are hardly vetted and rarely state their positions on geopolitics. Political action committees concerned with international affairs don't even engage in municipal races. Yet, these local leaders advocating for "trickle up" foreign policy are charting the course of America's future.
On Oct. 23, 2023, Mayor Farrah Khan of Irvine met with the California Attorney General in support of the State's anti-hate reporting system. Mayor Khan said, "There is no place for hate in Irvine." Yet, Mayor Khan has been promoting hate and anti-Israel foreign policy inside City Hall for the last six months. Irvine proudly boasts that it is the "safest city in America," but segments of the local population are feeling increasingly insecure. Diverse Orange County, formerly conservative, now deeply purple, serves as a warning call for what happens when the electorate doesn't pay attention to local elections.
On April 29, 2024, Khan publicly asked law enforcement to "stand down" and not disrupt any encampments and anti-Israel activities on University California Irvine's campus. According to a May 9 letter from student leaders, it was only after Mayor Khan intervened that police stopped enforcing the law against encampment protestors. Khan does not have jurisdiction over UCI. Pursuant to the California Education Code violations of public safety, and illegal encampment must be left to the Chancellor of UCI, UC Police Department, and local law enforcement agencies.
Khan should be supporting the impartial and fair application of all laws. The Chancellor has declared the encampments illegal and in violation of the University's code of conduct. Instead of deferring to law enforcement to know when actions cross over from free speech to illegal activities, Khan is insisting law enforcement unconditionally protect certain students at the expense of the safety of others.
Previously, Khan has deferred to law enforcement to protect First Amendment rights and ensure public safety. She has not appeared at Irvine rallies held to protest the regime in Iran. She has never joined local protests advocating for the release of the hostages in Gaza. Yet, on April 29 Mayor Khan felt the need to be physically present at the UCI encampment to bully local law enforcement and campus administrators.
Mayor Khan returned to the UCI encampment on May 4 where she declared that "We don't want our tax dollars going to this genocide. Divestment is the least the University can do." On May 6, Mayor Khan tweeted, "Student protestors were showing the world how to build a better community while standing up for humanity and rejecting colonialism/capitalism/Zionism." This isn't only anti-Israel, it's flat-out anti-American. Meanwhile, Congresswoman Michele Steel who was actually elected by Orange County to represent the electorate at the national level has condemned the UCI encampment.
In 2020, Khan refused to sign a resolution acknowledging violence in Azerbaijan. At the time, she explained that international issues were outside the scope of the Irvine City Council. She pointed to a code section that prohibits the Council from acting on any non-municipal affairs. Now Khan, with the support of her Vice Mayor, Larry Agran, is ignoring that same code.
Mayor Khan and Vice Mayor Larry Agran have now held eight City Council meetings dominated by foreign affairs. They have allowed Irvine City business to be disrupted by calls to pass a ceasefire resolution and divest from Israel. When it comes to her anti- Israel agenda, Khan has created an exception to the ban on non-municipal matters.
There is currently a recall effort against Irvine Councilmembers Kim and Tresseder for having the audacity to do their jobs for which they were elected and not wade into international politics. That two councilmembers have faced constant harassment and now political attacks for refusing to pass City Council measures on the Middle East.
The Middle East Forum showed Khan's ties to Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Turkey. In 2019, Khan was investigated for visiting Azerbaijan on a trip paid for by its government. In her mayoral campaign, she took money from agents of Turkey and associated herself with lobbyists who advocated against the recognition of the Armenian genocide.
Khan's authoritarian streak was on full display when members of the community first questioned the authority of the City to pass a ceasefire resolution or send city dollars to support "humanitarian relief" in Gaza. The mayor concluded that Council meeting by stating, "I am not defined by my title. I define my title."
Local officials are attempting to direct geopolitical policy, matters they were not elected to govern. These municipal leaders are not subject matter experts in the Middle East, constitutional scholars properly-suited to interpret the First Amendment, nor trained law enforcement versed in how to best maintain public safety. Irvine City Council, along with other local councils across the country, have been consumed with alleged peace protestors ironically calling for global religious war. Now, those leaders who have fostered hate inside local governmental chambers are giving a megaphone to agitators on college campuses. These leaders are not protecting free speech; they are promoting lawlessness.

2024.05.22 00:02 calliumsgarden Im in love with a guy that i rejected 2 years ago..

Heyy! This is a very odd situation but i need help. About 2 years ago i met this guy on snap and we started snappin back n forth. I saw him sometimes outside with his friends but he never noticed me. I first thought he was kinda cute but i never really thought we would hit it off. One day tho i sent him a snap video of me just smiling and he said that i was so cute. That’s how we began talking. Everyday he would ask me how i slept and we would just talk about everything. He went thru some hard times and he always told me every detail about them with trust by sending like 1-2m voice notes. He was not the ”wyd” kind of guy because after a while we had been talking he wanted to take me on a date. And when i mean date i dont mean just any kind of teenage date. He rented a nice car and reserved a table on a high class restaurant. He was so excited about our date he sent me pictures of the reservation and the car. The thing is that back then i was still yearning for someone who had treated me so bad and never even took me out, he was nothing compared to this guy who made the reservations n stuff. So when he was willing to bet on something and do nice things back then i never really acknowledged it. Dont get me wrong i appreciated everything and i was fully into it and him during the time we talked but you know there was still a little yearn for my old thing that made me doubt.
Anyway the day of our date arrives and he is so excited about it and so i am. Unfortunately couple hours before he sends me a text that there is a problem with the car thing cause he cant rent it because hes under the age limit. To him it was really important to take me out by a car and take me home by a car. He apologized like 30 times and said he’ll take me out as soon as possible to try again. I was completely fine with it and nothing really changed between us. But then few weeks later our conversations become more and more dry and we dont send morning texts anymore:( He was very busy while i was starting to think more and more about my old situationship. I dont even know why because he is a another story that really did me dirty.
So days go by and i decide to just leave him on opened since the spark was gone. There is really no one to blame for it. I moved on with my life and few month later i even make a new account so there was really no way to communite.
Year and a half go by and i see him. He was waiting for someone and i was too. He was just standing in front of me looking at me. I dont know if he recognized me but i guess we’ll never know. I forgot all about it after my friend arrived.
Now a week ago I was just laying in bed and i started to think about him and i truly understood how much he actually cared about me maybe. I went on snap and I saw also his new account on my quick add. I quicky went on ig and searched for his username and he only had like 10-20 followers and followed back like 20 ppl. I thought that perhaps he was more lowkey nowdays. Anyway I add him on snap and 20 sec later he adds me back. I dont even know how but i immediately got butterflies and started to have hope. I didnt even have the time to say anything to him because like 5mins later he sends me ”??” in the chat. Now i still dont know if he recognized me cause my username is kinda odd and my name is just the first letter of my real name so yeah. I reply back with ”I just wanted to add u ig” I KNOW, what an odd thing to say. I was so pressured at the moment so i didnt have time to think about a greater or sneakier text. Well to my worst nightmare he opens it and UNADDS me. Im like what, what did i do. Well after pondering there may have been a chance that he has gf and thats why he unadded me but i dont know. After this i have been thinking about him all week recalling the early days we began talking and everything. I know that i fumbled a great guy but man i was so young back then. So yall tell me what to do, should i add him again or just pray that i see him again somewhere so i can go talk to him irl. My mind just circles around the mindset ”Rejection over regret” but it would be hella embarrassing to add him again after he literally unadded me to maybe tell that he is not interested. I just want to let him know that i think about him and if there is ever a chance for us again i am down.

2024.05.21 23:42 Lone_Phantom13 Documents for citizenship application

Hi everyone! My name is Michael and I'm a 32-year-old Italian national. I have lived in the UK since July 2015. In September 2020 I applied to EUSS and got my Settled Status with subsequent ILR. I would like to apply for citizenship now, but I'm not 100% sure I've got sufficient documents to prove that I've resided in the Country continuously for 5 years. Before applying and wasting my money, I would like to double check with you. So, for the majority of the time I've worked as an employee and I can prove that through my HMRC personal online account. It lists all the jobs I've done in the last 5 years, detailing start and end dates, taxes paid etc. I'm not providing any payslips or contract, as the HMRC summary should be sufficient proof.
The problem is I've got 2 big gaps. From October 2021 to April 2022 and from November 2022 to October 2023 I haven't worked. I can't use my bank statements to prove I've been in the UK during these periods, but fortunately I've got some other ways to prove it I think.
In December 2021 I had my 3rd dose of the COVID vaccine and I've got a NHS record stating that. In January 2022 I received a letter from a solicitor, because I made an offer to buy a house. It has my name and my address on it. In March 2022 I changed mobile telephone provider and I've got an invoice, because they had to send a new SIM card to my home address. Is it sufficient proof to cover the October 2021 to April 2022 period?
Regarding the latter period, I've got an A&E summary dated 20th December 2023, following a visit to a hospital. from January to May 2023 I've been away from the UK and I've declared that in the absences section. From June to October 2023 I've got a medical summary stating the date when I registered to the clinic (13th June) and the repeat prescriptions I have been issued until 9th October. Then I also got another hospital summary related to a referral appointment I've attended to. Again, is it sufficient proof that I've resided in the UK from June to October 2023?
On the basis of such evidence, is my application likely to be approved or rejected? Thank you very much for your help!

2024.05.21 23:35 Historical_Key4030 Was Muhammad illiterate?

The Quran claims that Muhammad is illiterate:
Those who follow the Messenger, the illiterate (ummi) prophet... S. 7:157
Definition of 'Illiterate':-
a person who is unable to read or write.
Therefore, if we find sufficient evidence from the Quran and the ahadith which demonstrate that Muhammad was literate, it would necessitate a reevaluation of the Quranic assertion of his illiteracy.
The prevailing belief among many Muslims is that the historical figure of Muhammad was illiterate and therefore incapable of producing the Quran. However, it is important to note that both the Quran and the ahadith provide evidence that Muhammad possessed the ability to read and write!

Evidence from the Quran

The following verses commanded Muhammad to read:
Read! (Iqra) In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists)
Read! (Iqra) And your Lord is the Most Generous, Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)], S. 96:1, 3-4
The mention of the pen clearly indicates that Muhammad was being directed to read a written text, rather than merely recite spoken words.
In fact, the Quran says that Allah will make Muhammad read the Quran so that he won’t forget it:
We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget S. 87:6
Other places where Muhammad is commanded to read the Quran include:
When you read the Quran, you shall seek refuge in GOD from Satan the rejected. S. 16:98
When you read the Quran, we place between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter an invisible barrier. S. 17:45
A Quran that we have released slowly, in order for you to read it to the people over a long period, although we sent it down all at once. S. 17:106 And lo! It is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, Which the True Spirit hath brought down Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, In plain Arabic speech. And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. S. 26:192-199
Your Lord knows that you meditate during two-thirds of the night, or half of it, or one-third of it, and so do some of those who believed with you. GOD has designed the night and the day, and He knows that you cannot always do this. He has pardoned you. Instead, you shall read what you can of the Quran. He knows that some of you may be ill, others may be traveling in pursuit of GOD's provisions, and others may be striving in the cause of GOD. You shall read what you can of it, and observe the contact prayers (Salat), give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and lend GOD a loan of righteousness. Whatever good you send ahead on behalf of your souls, you will find it at GOD far better and generously rewarded. And implore GOD for forgiveness. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. 73:20
and, when the Koran is read to them, do not adore? S. 84:21
The evidence strongly suggests that Muhammad had access to a manuscript from which he could read to the people. Without access to such a manuscript, it raises the question of what he would have been reading from.
If a Muslim claims that the above texts do not necessarily mean that Muhammad was reading an actual book, because there was no Quranic manuscript for him to read, note what the following passage states:
Those who disbelieve say: "This (the Qur'an) is nothing but a lie that he (Muhammad SAW) has invented, and others have helped him at it, so that they have produced an unjust wrong (thing) and a lie." And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon." S. 25:4-5
Not only did Muhammad have the Quran written down, showing that he had access to an actual manuscript that he could read, the Quran even refers to pure pages that Muhammad was reading to the people:
A messenger from Allah, reading purified pages (yatlu suhufan mutahharatan) S. 98:1-2
The term suhuf refers to an actual scripture just as the following verse proves:
The Books (suhuf) of Abraham and Moses. S. 87:19
Therefore, we can now conclude that the Quran provides compelling evidence supporting the claim that Muhammad possessed the ability to read and write. A more in-depth examination of the ahadith is now necessary to further substantiate this assertion.

Evidence from the Ahadith

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Once the Prophet wrote a letter or had an idea of writing a letter. The Prophet was told that they (rulers) would not read letters unless they were sealed. So the Prophet got a silver ring made with "Muhammad Allah's Apostle" engraved on it. As if I were just observing its white glitter in the hand of the Prophet
 (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 3, Number 65)
Narrated Anas bin Malik: When the Prophet (ï·ș) intended to write to the Byzantines, it was said to him, "Those people do not read your letter unless it is stamped." So the Prophet (ï·ș) took a silver ring and got 'Muhammad, the Apostle of Allah' engraved on it .... as if I am now looking at its glitter in his hand. (Sahih Al Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 72, Number 764)
Narrated Anas bin Malik: When the Prophet (ï·ș) intended to write to the Byzantines, the people said, "They do not read a letter unless it is sealed (stamped)." Therefore the Prophet (ï·ș) took a silver ring----as if I am looking at its glitter now----and its engraving was: 'Muhammad, Apostle of Allah'. (Sahih Al Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 89, Number 276)
Narrated 'Ursa: The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with 'Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death). (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 88)
Narrated 'Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah: Ibn 'Abbas said, "When the ailment of the Prophet became worse, he said, 'Bring for me (writing) paper and I will write for you a statement after which you will not go astray.' But 'Umar said, 'The Prophet is seriously ill, and we have got Allah's Book with us and that is sufficient for us.' But the companions of the Prophet differed about this and there was a hue and cry. On that the Prophet said to them, 'Go away (and leave me alone). It is not right that you should quarrel in front of me." Ibn 'Abbas came out saying, ""It was most unfortunate (a great disaster) that Allah's Apostle was prevented from writing that statement for them because of their disagreement and noise. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 3, Number 114)
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: When the time of the death of the Prophet (ï·ș) approached while there were some men in the house, and among them was Umar bin Al-Khatttab, the Prophet (ï·ș) said, "Come near let me write for you a writing after which you will never go astray."Umar said, "The Prophet (ï·ș) is seriously ill, and you have the Qur'an, so Allah's Book is sufficient for us." The people in the house differed and disputed. Some of them said, "Come near so that Allah's Messenger (ï·ș) may write for you a writing after which you will not go astray," while some of them said what Umar said. When they made much noise and differed greatly before the Prophet, he said to them, "Go away and leave me." IbnAbbas used to say, "It was a great disaster that their difference and noise prevented Allah's Messenger (ï·ș) from writing that writing for them. (Sahih Al Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 92, Number 468)
Narrated Yazid ibn Abdullah: We were at Mirbad. A man with dishevelled hair and holding a piece of red skin in his hand came. We said: You appear to be a bedouin. He said: Yes. We said: Give us this piece of skin in your hand. He then gave it to us and we read it. It contained the text: "From Muhammad, Messenger of Allah (ï·ș), to Banu Zuhayr ibn Uqaysh. If you bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, offer prayer, pay zakat, pay the fifth from the booty, and the portion of the Prophet (ï·ș) and his special portion (safi), you will be under by the protection of Allah and His Apostle." We then asked: Who wrote this document for you? He replied: The Messenger of Allah (ï·ș). (Sunan Abi Dawud Book 19, Number 2993)
Narrated Al-Bara' bin 'Azib (RA):The Prophet (ï·ș) sent 'Ali to Yemen. The narrator mentioned the complete Hadith. He said, "Ali sent a letter regarding their (the people of Yemen) acceptance of Islam. When Allah's Messenger (ï·ș) read the letter, he prostrated in gratitude to Allah the Most High for that." [Reported by al-Baihaqi].
Muhammad also had access to Syriac books. He also commanded Zaid Bin Thabit to learn the Syriac Language and the book of the Jews:
Ibn Hajar said in Al-Fath: It can be made that he learned their language, reading and writing, because he used to read their books to him and write to them if he wanted to write to them. This is indicated by Al-Tirmidhi’s classification of this hadith by saying: Chapter on what was mentioned in teaching the Syriacs, and in it he mentioned another narration that says In it Zaid: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, commanded me to learn Syriac, and in Sunan Abu Dawud: Zaid bin Thabit - may God be pleased with him - said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, commanded me to learn the book of the Jews for him, and he said: By God, no Jews believed in my book. So I learned it, and only half a month passed before I mastered it. I would write to him when he wrote, and I would read to him when he wrote to him.
The author of Awn al-Ma’boud said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, commanded me, that is, to learn the book of the Jews, so I learned for him, that is, for the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said, meaning, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, is a conjunction of my command to explain the reason for the matter. The Jews did not believe in my book, that is, I fear if I commanded a Jew. By writing a book to the Jews, or reading a book that the Jews had come to add or subtract from, so I learned it, i.e., a Jewish book, until I mastered it with the dictionary dhāl and waqf, meaning I knew it, mastered it, and taught it, so I used to write for him, i.e., for the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, whenever he wrote, i.e., if he wanted to write.
Al-Tahawi said in Al-Mu’tasir:
It was narrated from Zaid Bin Thabbit, that he said:
The Messenger (PBUH) said: “Do you know Syriac well? I receive Syriac books.” Zaid said: “No.” The Messenger (PBUH) said: “Learn it (Syriac Language).” Zaid said: “So I learned it in seventeen days.”

Muhammad's Literacy in the Sirat(s)

Muhammad could read and write as we read in Sirat Ibn Ishaq, Kitab at-Tabaqat al-Kabir' by Abu 'Abdullah Muhammad ibn Sa'd, and Al Sira Al Nabawiyya by Ibn Kathir:

So I (Muhammad) read it, and he departed from me.

Musaylima had written to the apostle: ‘From Musaylima the apostle of God to Muhammad the apostle of God. Peace upon you. I have been made partner with you in authority. To us belongs half the land and to Quraysh half, but Quraysh are a hostile people.’ Two messengers brought this letter. A shaykh of Ashja’ told me on the authority of Salama b. Nu’aym b. Mas’ud al-Ashja’I from his father Nu’aym: I heard the apostle saying to them when he read his letter ‘What do you say about it?’ They said that they said the same as Musaylima. He replied, ‘By God, were it not that heralds are not to be killed I would behead the pair of you !’ Then he wrote to Musaylima: ‘From Muhammad the apostle of God to Musaylima the liar. Peace be upon him who follows the guidance. The earth is God’s. He lets whom He will of His creatures inherit it and the result is to the pious. This was at the end of the year 10.

The apostle wrote to the Jews of Khaybar according to what a freedman of the family of Zayd b. Thabit told me from ‘Ikrima or from Sa‘id b. He (Ibn Sa'd) said: Al-Haytham Ibn 'Adi al-Ta'i informed us; he said: MujĂ lid Ibn Sa'id and ZakariyĂĄ Ibn Abi ZĂ 'idah informed us on the authority of al-Sha'bi; he said: The Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him, used to write after the style of the Quraysh: In Thy name, 0 Allah! Then the verse, "Embark therein! In the name of Allah be its course and its mooring," (Qur'an, 11:41) was revealed, **and he began to write: In the name of Allah.**Then the verse, "Cry unto Allah or cry unto the Beneficent" (Qur'an, 17:110) was revealed, and he began to write; In the name of Allah the Beneficent. Then the verse, "Lo ! it is from Solomon, and Lo ! it is: In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful" (Qur'an, 27: 30) was revealed, and he began to write: In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

He (Ibn Sa'd) said: Al-Haytham Ibn 'Adi informed us; Dalham Ibn Salih and Abu Bakr al-Hudhali informed us on the authority of 'Abd Allah Ibn Buraydah, he on the authority of his father, Buraydah Ibn al-Husayb alAslami; (second chain) he (Ibn Sa'd) said: Muhammad Ibn Ishaq related to us on the authority of Yazid Ibn RumĂ n and al-Zuhri; (third chain) he (Ibn Sa'd) said: Al-Hasan Ibn 'UmĂ rah related to us on the authority of Firas, he on the authority of al-Sha'bi; their narrations are mixed up: He (Ibn Sa'd) said: The Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him, wrote [P.20] an epistle to the people of Yaman detailing in it the regulations of Islam and duties on animals and properties. He directed them to treat his Companions and messengers well, and his messengers were Mu'adh Ibn Jabal and Malik Ibn Murarah. He informed them about the coming of their messengers to him and acknowledged the message which he had received from them. They said: The Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him, wrote personal letters to several persons of Yaman; the names of some of them are, alHarith Ibn 'Abd KulĂĄl, Shurayh Ibn 'Abd Kulal, Nu'aym Ibn 'Abd KulĂĄl, Nu'man the prince of Dhu Yazan, Ma'Ă fir and Hamdan and Zur'ah of Ru'ayn; and the last was the first of Himyarites to embrace Islam... The Apostle of AllĂĄh, may Allah bless him, wrote to them that Malik Ibn MurĂĄrah had delivered the message and defended their right in absentia. They said: The Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him, wrote to Musaylimah, the liar, may Allah damn him, inviting him to join the fold of Islam, and sent it through 'Amr Ibn Ummayyah [P. 26] al-Damri. Musaylimah wrote a reply to his epistle saying that he (Musaylimah) was a prophet like him, and asked him to divide the Earth; he also added that the Quraysh were not just. The Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him, said: Curse him; Allah has also cursed him. The Prophet wrote to him: your letter (full of) falsehood and fabrications against Allah has reached me... They said: The Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him, wrote a similar epistle to Bang Mu'awiyah, a branch of Kindah.
'Ath'ath Ibn Zahr and Anas lbn Mudrik waited on the Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him, with the members of the Khath'am after Jarir Ibn 'Abd Allah had broken Dhua'l-Khalasah and had slain those of Khath'am whom he had slain. Then they said: We believe in Allah, His Apostle and what was revealed by Allah. (They said) write a document for us so that we may follow what might be written therein. Thereupon he wrote a document for him and Jarir Ibn 'Abd Allah and those present testified to it.

The evidence presented in this post strongly supports the claim that Muhammad was literate and not illiterate, as claimed by the Quran and the Muslims! So, the answer to the question in the title is a BIG NO.

2024.05.21 23:08 rickrockster Roger Bacon - Prologue

OlĂĄ! It's me! I'm Rickle Pick! Hello everyone!
So, I’ve been listening to some stories about Neckbeards and Kevins, as well as some Legbeards and Kevinas (Is that the correct term??). Well, most of the times I listen to those stories, I am reminded of some people I used to deal with in school. Specifically, this time, the tale of a guy, who I’ll name Roger Bacon for reasons soon to be explained. Sorry for any grammar errors, eu falo portuguĂȘs! I also don't really know the posting rules here, so I'll just post it and see how it goes lol
This prologue is more of a compilation of stories that I think is needed before we get to the main shenanigans and awkward situations this guy put himself AND me into. If this generates any interest, I will post more specific tales of this weirdo! Long time lurker, first time poster, english is definitely not my first language and the whole shebang. I also never wrote a text this large, so go easy on me!
THE LIST:
Well, I guess it’s usual to make a list of people that appear in those stories, so I’ll make one just for you!
Me: Your basic musician-type nerdy theater kid white guy! Tall, thin with medium-light brown hair. At the time, I usually wore a leather jacket and sometimes a hat (not a fedora, a Chaplin hat. Also, where I live, hats are an acceptable attire choice lol). I kinda looked like the Once-ler from Lorax. At this time, I had just failed my second year of high school because of
honestly just lack of effort, mixed with undiagnosed ADHD and a bit of lacking in the ol’ confidence and self-respect department. At the time, I also was physically incapable of saying no and had a crippling fear of disappointing people.
Roger Bacon: 168 centimeters (or 5,5ft for the uncivilized) of pure muscle! Or at least he thought it was that way. In reality, he did have some muscles but was kinda chubby and flaccid. Not FAT fat, but athletic fat (???). He was mixed, light skinned, had shaved short curly hair, no beard (except for the inside beard) and his face was a special kind of oval, besides having a, "chiseled jaw". He always smelled like he had just gotten out of a day-long brawl with a french cologne wearing burrito. He wasn't an usual neckbeard, but he was a huge attention whore. Thought too much of himself, as we say here in Brazil: “Promised too much, delivered nothing at all.” His moto was: “Dude, I think she’s into me!”
For now, these are the characters, as the focus is to introduce you all to Roger Bacon as a person.
With the list over, let us get to the story.
FEBUARY 2018:
The year of 2018 started pretty badly for me. I had just been held back from 10th grade, had no friends and didn’t really know anyone. As most people know, high school in Brazil is quite different from America, as we start school in febuary and we share the same class with the same people all day, excluding language classes and extra-curriculum activities. This meant that, for the foreseeable future, I was alone. On the first day of school, I shyly sat on the last desk on the far right corner of the room, as I scanned my classroom to see what I was dealing with. A few groups of people sitting together, talking and greeting their friends, some loners reading or playing on their phones. The artsy girl drawing a beauriful woman on the white board. Some guy drawing a penis right beside her. Perfect balance. A normal classroom.
Another difference between our school systems is that we don’t really have clicks based on like Jocks or Nerds or Pretty Girls, it’s mostly people who connected in childhood or matched personalities, instead of connecting through roles and interests within the school. Not saying either one is better, just different. And yeah, the bullying situation is just as bad. I was bullied for my whole middle school and through first year of high school, and made a very specific group of low profile friends. So when I failed sophomore year I thought to myself “Screw it, if I’m going to be held back, that’s at least a second chance for me to grow an acceptable social life.”
All this elucidates how intimidating it could be for someone to join a new classroom full of mostly new faces. If you were unable to make a friend, you’d pretty much be on your own for the whole year unless an already formed group “adopted” you. So my mindset was to at least try and meet new people.
Well, have you ever said “I’m gonna do this thing I’ve never done before!” And got the worst possible circunstance you could get at the very first attempt? Welp, that’s just what happened. My strategy was to start small, and go talk to only one person at first, and then try to interact with a few of the groups as that was a bit intimidating (fun fact: we call “clicks “panelinhas”, spelled “pah-neh-lin-ias”, wich means “little pans”, because, you know, they’re closed groups, like a closed
pan. Idk, anyway), so I went up to this guy in front of me, and that guy was Roger Bacon.
He was almost lying on his chair, on a cool guy pose while messing around on his phone. He was also wearing a black sports tank top with a grey opened sweatshirt and the standard uniform wine-red shorts that were mandatory in our school, which made him look like a short and jelly version of Rocky balboa mixed with Kick Buttowski.
In real life, my name and his started with sequential letters, and because of this, we would sit near each other for the whole year, so I guessed he’d be the best person to interact with. I also KINDA knew him because we had basketball training after class in like 2015 and I went to the same church as him, in which I befriended his brother, Kevin, slightly, but didn’t have much contact with him because he had already graduated (I have some stories about basketball and church so tell me if yall wanna read them lol). I approached and gestured for him to take of his headphones (They were extremely loud, so I could recognize he was listening to the song In The End by Linkin Park).
Me: Hey! Aren’t you Roger? You’re Kevin’s brother, right?
RB, trying to sound stoic: “Oh, hey Rick. Yeah, it’s me
 fortunately for you.”
Me: “What do you mean?”
RB explained: “Well, I’m the cool brother! Kevin was lame, and also had no friends.”
Me: “Isn’t he in a band with [insert band members]? They seem to be his friends

RB: “They might look nice, but they’re all assholes. Don’t let them fool you! I’m the nice brother, Kevin is a dipshit.
To elucidate you: that band he said was made of assholes was the Worship band of the church we went to. It was also the worship band that I occasionally played the piano with.
I said, jokingly: “Guess I’m an asshole then! Because, ya know, I play with them more often than not”
RB: “No man, it’s just them. They’re just so infuriating! They never let me participate!”
Me: “Wow, that’s weird
I mean, I didn’t know you were a musician too! What instrument do you play?”
RB: “I play the drums, piano, guitar, bass and I also sing. But Kevin keeps me out because he wants to be the 'star brother'!”
I could tell he got a little heated, and went silent for a little while. I decided not to mention the band or his brother in his presence, 'cause ya know, that was pretty awkward lol.
I remember thinking to myself “This guy’s kinda weird”, because his brother was one of the nicest people I had ever known, and he also didn’t have the say on who played on the band, the worship leader did. I thought about confronting Roger with this, but I didn’t want to abandon my quest of finding a friend. And also, he seemed chill at first, if not a little insecure.
I was a little uncomfortable with this line of conversation, so I opted to change the subject. We talked a bit more about me having been held back, and he went on about how he was really good at math and chemistry, and how he could help me with my school stuff.
I was glad to have someone to help me, and even more, someone who apparently liked the stuff I liked. I remembered what he was listening to, so I commented on it and asked which song was his favorite, and we talked about Linkin Park for a bit. He said “In The End” was his favorite song, and then I mentioned I was a huge Linkin Park fan. He told me he was a big fan as well, but as we talked about it, it became a bit fishy. He never specifically said anything and just kinda repeated what I said. It became clear after a while that “In The End” was, in fact, virtually the only song he knew from that band.
That was the first time I noticed something strange, but only in hindsight, as at the time I just thought he really wanted to make a human connection. I remember thinking he was just excited to know someone who was open to talking to him, so I didn’t think anything of it.
Also, not everyone memorizes this stuff, and maybe he did only remember one song, for whatever reason, so I let that pass. I only felt necessary to include this information because it was, at least in some way, the first lie that Roger told me, a little sample, if you will, of what’s to come.
After we talked for a while, mostly catching up on our lives, the bell rung and our first actual class had begun, and I had the first-hand experience of this guy’s sense of humor. The teacher walked into the classroom and introduced himself as the new Geography teacher, and started a power point presentation about some of the subjects we’d be covering that year, saying “Please pay attention to this class, as you’ll need to know how our schedule will work”. Roger looked back and said “Huh, I guess this class is useless for you then, being held back and all, hahah”, which made everyone look at me and just kinda stare like I should say something, and he kept repeating the joke to anyone that showed any reaction besides just staring, adding “Amirite? Huh? Amirite?”.
I was kinda salty about this, but my people pleasing peapod brain couldn’t handle letting it show, so I just laughed and said nothing. I guessed it was a poorly thought out joke at first, but then Roger proceeded to make the same comment on every single one of the opening classes we had for both of the introductory days. There were 12 of them. He did it every time. Every. Single. Time. Sometimes he repeated it even louder, as if he didn’t think people heard it, because no-one was laughing.
“Ok”, I said to myself, “He didn’t mean to make fun of me, he’s just a little overexcited and probably is trying to make a connection and help me get acquainted to our classmates.”
Either way, I was very uncomfortable and annoyed.
Thankfully, this came to a halt when he was practically thrown out of the Literature class for interrupting the teacher mid-sentence while she talked about how important the first month of class would be for our comprehension of the whole subject. He made the joke four times. FOUR TIMES. I was beginning to think that I made a mistake, but well, the mistake was already made, at least I can try and understand him a bit, before judging.
The rest of the week went by and he didn’t get any better, but I got kinda used to it. In fact, I actually enjoyed having conversations with him at recess, when we could talk a bit more freely. And, as all things in life tend to do, it got weirder. Weirder in the sense that as we spoke more and more, I noticed a bit of a concerning pattern: every time I shared an experience I had, he’d share a cooler and more awesome almost equal experience back.
Some light examples:
I told him I went hiking for 2-3 kilometers on a trail by the beach. Then he smirked and said he went hiking for “at least 7 kilometers on a deserted beach that only his father’s company’s employees had access to and he saw a Gorilla. There are no gorillas in Brazil. Maybe in zoos, I guess, but definitely no gorillas.
I told him I was kinda sad because I had just ended a “thing” with a girl from my old grade. He “proudly” said he’s been dumped by his ex, Laura, after they dated for 11 months and made out aaaallll the time after school, and he even saw her “lady parts” once!”.
And then he went on to describe that shit for like 3 straight classes, adding more and more to the story every chance he had to speak, providing me with my daily dose of cringe in tiny bits of uncomfortable information at a time! Like a sporadic cringe snack! Sninge! Crack? Probably Crack.
ANYWAYS
There was also the time I told him the story of how I became best friends with a guy because we got into a fight in P.E.. We were arguing about some nonsense and he wanted to fight, so after he socked me on my stomach, I cheaply kicked him in the face so hard I almost sprained my ankle and then we started laughing (because I guess sometimes that’s all it takes). Phillip is my best friend for almost 10 years now.
Roger puffed up his soap dish chest went on for at least 2 classes worth of time about how he “beat up his last bully and broke both of his arms, and almost went to prison, but his dad is a lawyer and bailed him out”. Dude was 16, and I don’t think he’d need to be bailed out, but okay
He was, in fact, very badass.
Those are all approximations of actual stories he told me, because my ADHD memory is shit, but you get the gist of it.
My days were filled with endless stories filled with absolute bullshit, like a Gary Stu from a dying rpg campaign. (I have a story about a DnD game he participated in, but that’s for another time!)
Roger, not content with lying to me about anecdotal facts about his past that could be true but were almost certainly mostly bullshit (if not entirely), had a tendency to just negate reality when presented with facts in certain situations.
And example of this situation is the time we were doing a group assignment and a girl at least 3 meters in front of him dropped her pencil and he just kinda threw himself on the ground, picked it up and said “Here you go, Lana!”. She said “Thanks Roger!”, barely turning around and carried on with the assignment. Roger, then, turned to me with a sleek shit feasting smirk on his face and said:
RB: “Dude, do you think she’s into me??”
I contained a ridiculing laughter just in time to realize he was dead serious.
I said “I don’t know man
Doesn’t seem like it to me, but sure I guess.”
RB then straight up asked ME to go talk to her and get HIM her number. When I asked why shouldn’t he do it, he said it was “the wingman’s job to get the number of the girl” so that he wouldn’t “look weak for asking”
I said I’d do it, cause I genuinely wanted to see if he was right about her liking him (I hadn’t really understood the dynamics of the classroom, so I actually had no idea if he was actually right, just a gut feeling that yeah, he probably wasn’t).
I went up to her and asked for her number, explaining it was Roger who was interested in her and, as I pulled out my raging 2014’s Sony XPeria, I was swiftly interrupted by her delicately saying “Sorry! I have a boyfriend.” (She said the boyfriend part out loud, and stared at Roger)
I said “Oh, ok, sorry to bother ya!” and, as I was starting to walk back, I noticed that she turned back and glared at Roger. Later that day her boyfriend texted him, telling him that “He’s got to stop asking her out, and next time, if he wants to get rejected, he should come do it himself” He called him a moron. And then they both blocked him.
Well, that was embarrassing.
Despite having been turned down (for the 6th time now, I’d come to find out), Roger still maintained that she was “totally into him”, and it wasn’t just Lana. Any time he had even the smallest interaction with any girl, he’d say that they’re “probably into him”, or that “they made out at a party, but she was drunk and probably won’t remember”, or that they “sent him nudes last year but he’s already deleted them because he’s a good person, with morals”.
This went on for a while and, after about a month, Roger begun to dial down the crazy stories about how he’s a “badass and he gets all the girls but he’s single because he’s too good for them”. Until I started seeing a girl from another church I started going to. I met Janice () at the churches youth group, and we talked the whole time afterwards about lots of stuff. This name’s given because of her insanely similar laughter and demeanor of Janice from Friends. We clicked well and I was very interested in her, but my ADHD ass forgot to get her number, and remembered it only when she had already left.
When I told Roger, he laughed and said “I had just cockblocked myself” and that I’d “probably missed my only chance of banging a girl ever”. I was bummed, but clarified I didn’t really want to have sex before marriage or at least before making an emotional connection (I had just then begun to go to church, so I didn’t really get the rules, so it was more of a personal choice I always had in mind when thinking about dating. Also I met her at church so wtf).
He said “that was dumb” and, “even though he was a virgin, he’d dance the Devil’s Tango with the first chick he had the chance to”
“What about Laura?”, I asked. His face went from a confident smirk to an almost sad expression, and he blankly replied: “She didn’t want to, but I tried anyway at times. I even got a blowie once!” I let it go because I was very tired, as Mondays are hell on earth.
A few classes later, I went up to him and reminded him of our conversation and asked:
I said “Ooookay, but what about all those girls you told me were all over you? Didn’t they want to have some bum bum times with you??”
He was taken by surprise by this, and was visibly trying so hard to think of an answer for at least 15 seconds. He mumbled “Well
”, and like just left. Like he got up in the middle of the class, and walked away. Well that was weird!
He got back and I didn’t pry, thinking he had some kind of trauma, and I tried to change the subject.
I say “tried” because instead we were suddenly interrupted by a girl asking me if I was Rick. I didn’t know her or how she had materialized beside our desks, but later I found out that that girl’s name was Mary. She had blue eyes and was smiling mischievously, and I answered “Yup, that’s me”. She then giggled and said that “Anna wanted to make out with me after class”. Me and Roger were both very much taken aback by this, and I immediately thought to myself that this could only be some type of dare or prank (which it probably was), and was about to try and respond with the first witty joke that popped up in my monkey brain when, without missing a beat, Roger said “Rick’s already seeing someone!”. Mary was visibly surprised and said “Oh, you have a girlfriend??” with a look of disbelief on her face. Ouch. I explained that I wouldn’t say I do, I just liked a girl from church and we’re going to see a movie with some friends on Saturday, and that either way it was a pass on the making out sesh! Mary said “Oh, okay!” and started to walk back to her desk. I was about to make a joke and say that Anna could probably do better than me, when Roger interjected:
RB: “I’d like a making out sesh if she’s interested!”
Mary looked back with a visible “Lol, ew no” expression and just said: “I’m sure you would, Roger!”, turned away and sat down, laughing with her friends when she got to her desk.
Roger turned to me and said:
RB: “Dude, do you think she’s into me?”
This cycle repeated once in a while, so I’m not gonna tell you all of the situations that I felt like shaking him and trying to wake him up like Woody does to Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story. Exhausting, right?
Another thing Roger tended to brag about was that he did Martial Arts. Specifically, Kung Fu (Wushu). I would come to find out that, in the year before, he made a big scene to tell everyone in class that he’d just started Kung-Fu classes and, when no-one payed attention, he started a habit of punching the wall beside his desk, audibly making “hmpft” noises. When anyone asked why, he’d say he was training, and that his Sensei (Not shifu, he actually said sensei) had asked him to do that to strengthen his fists so he could harness all the strength he had, so one day he could put a hole through a wall with his fists.
He would also punch the school’s fireproof doors because, if you didn’t know, they dent pretty easily, and he would show me and tell me to bask at his strength and ability. That until I said I’d give it a try. He told me not to, because “I wasn’t trained” and “it could really hurt my hand”. I punched the door. It made a dent.
Roger said it was beginners luck and that he’s just a good teacher. I told him I really didn’t even make an effort to pay attention, the metal was just bendy and soft. Roger never talked about it again, and started only punching walls. For that, he would feel superior because, yeah I ain’t doing that. There were consequences for his wall punching habits, but I’ll address that some other time.
The last thing I’ll say about him for now is how clueless Roger was, how much he thought of himself and how he treated everyone else like they should (and would) respecting for what he told them, and not for what he showed them.
(I plan on doing another part eventually, with the story of how his disconnection with reality, lies, schemes and generally narcissist behavior eventually exploded back into his face.)
As a last bit of exposition of our circumstances, there’s an important part of our school life that fueled Roger’s social life’s demise.
Pranking was a big part of my class’ culture. There were also some people in my classroom who were bullied. The thing is: the bullies actually made fun of literally everyone else, which made it very hard to figure out if you were considered a target or just a colleague. They’d mess with people’s stuff, tie backpacks to the windows and hide pencil cases, but they would also do it to their own group.
Essentially, the only way to differentiate those who they considered normal schoolmates from those who were bullied was the frequency of the pranks and their demeanor in general towards those people. They would apologize for the pranks, ask to make up for it, buy you lunch, make jokes, try to laugh with you. I swear some of those guys were politicians in the making. Luckily, was very good friends with one of the guys in that group, I’ll call him Turkey, who was also held back a few years before me, and he liked my sister, so I was mostly safe.
Roger, on the other hand, THOUGHT he was one of the pranksters. Every time someone pranked him or anyone else, he would laugh knowingly, like he was in on the joke the whole time, and try to make jokes, only to further humiliate himself. And they would capitalize on that as hard as they could.
You see, Roger liked to portray himself as the “Mysterious-Badass-Quiet-Protagonist-Take-No-Shit-From-Anyone-Mr.-Steal-Yo-Girl” guy. This combo of personality substitutes was the recipe for the downfall of his popularity, and the start of the longest lasting pranks I’ve ever seen in my life, which will come if yall want another post. That prank is also the reason I named him Roger Bacon.
Because he was so into Math and Science (and into himself too lol) he also always wanted to look like the smartest guy in the room. The problem is that, as our first semester went by, it became clear that he wasn’t as good as he hyped himself up to be. Shocker, right? This was proven to be true when we were doing a chemistry group test, and I was paired with him and Anna, and we needed to calculate some entropies or whatever. He made a point of telling us to do all of the “easy ones”, and he would take on the more complicated questions.
The thing is, he was trying really hard to look like a genius, to maybe impress Anna, so every time he made a calculation, he would roll his eyes up and kinda vibrate a little. I guess he wanted to look like a genius mathematics robot, but instead he looked like he was trying to imitate an autistic person having a small stroke. I didn’t mind the Good Doctor amateur impersonation, because at least it looked like he knew what he was doing. Unfortunately, it really just looked like he knew what he was doing.
Each easy question of the test was worth 1 point, and there were 4 of them, and there were 3 hard questions worth 2 points each. We got a 4/10 on that test, and lo and behold, the only questions we got right were the ones me and Anna worked on. We were a bit pissed, not gonna lie.
Until the last time we spoke, Roger still blames Anna for his complete failure at this test for, in his words, distracting him because she was obviously into him.
But that’s just Roger, I guess!
I've got A LOT of stories about Roger and other neckbeards I've encountered, and I can't wait to tell them!
Until then, thanks for reading, and have a good one yall!

2024.05.21 23:04 LoveScoutCEO You can meet ANY woman in the catalog of the world's largest international matchmaking agency without going on a group tour! These are some of the most beautiful women in the world and they want to meet men a lot like YOU! It is not complicated or particularly expensive and the women are stunning.

You can meet ANY woman in the catalog of the world's largest international matchmaking agency without going on a group tour! These are some of the most beautiful women in the world and they want to meet men a lot like YOU! It is not complicated or particularly expensive and the women are stunning.

You Can Still Meet Any of These Women
I posted this information about a week ago, but apparently my headline was not clear, because a lot of guys keep DMing me the same question, "How can I meet these women if they are not doing group tours to Ukraine?"
Yes, You Can Meet Any Woman In AFA's Catalog!
A Foreign Affair has a gigantic database of beautiful women - some of the hottest women in the world - and you have a very solid shot of getting a real date with ANY of those women if you just follow these simple directions.
AFA Practically Keeps This Secret
Oddly, AFA practically keeps this secret. That is odd, because they would earn FAR more money if they would explain this. But as I have mentioned before in my long review of AFA, they are a small company owned and operated for almost thirty years and that leads to a lot of idiosyncrasies.
One of the biggest oddities of AFA is that they work very hard to sell group tours. Tens of thousands relationships have started on their group tours, and, in fact, I got a comment here from a former AFA client whose wife was in labor with his first child when he wrote me.
So, that's great and there is some real magic on the tours. They are also the most imaginable way possible to meet hundreds of single women unless you happen to be the starting quarterback of a good NFL team.
But AFA does not do a great job of explaining the rest of their services.
Other Ways To Meet AFA's Women
AFA offers several ways other than group tours to meet their women. One approach is the Executive Plan - which is a full service matchmaking program. It is very successful, but too pricey for most men. I have mentioned it before.
Another approach is to take an Individual Tour to Europe, Latin America, or Asia. Here you call AFA tell them where you want to go and they will give you the details. You can meet up to three women a day for fourteen days and YOU are picking the women.
Individual tours are cheaper than group tours, and a lot of men like the choice. What you lose is the support of the other men in the group - which is oddly pretty amazing - and you don't usually have the opportunity to meet the hundreds of women you will be in a room with on a group tour.
Many Men Are Worried About Chemistry
A lot of guys are really hesitant about individual tours because they are worried about chemistry. Well, chemistry is important, and if you are really concerned about that write a woman you are attracted to a few letters.
Five letters is usually plenty to see if you have common interests and philosophical compatibility, but you should certainly not write more than ten. Then if you believe there is some chemistry contact AFA and tell them you want to arrange a date with that a specific woman.
They will contact the woman and ask her if she is interested. If she is not interested, well, it is a little disappointing but a pretty gentle rejection and AFA has hundreds more women for you to chat with. If she is interested - BOOM!
You can start making your travel plans to meet the woman of your dreams. It is pretty amazing.
The Details
I wanted to get the details right so I asked John Adams, the President of AFA to explain things for me. Here is his response:
One on one introductions can be done for virtually anyone on the site regardless of destination. Most are done where we have offices, but we can facilitate a meeting for women that do not live close to an office or AFA or affiliate staff.
So if it is an introduction within a city where we have an office or an affiliate office the fee structure is as follows:
$150.00 one time office for which is good for the time that you are in that city doing introductions. Then, there is a fee of $125.00 per introduction. Normally the office fee and the first introduction fee is paid in advance via the Phoenix office before you fly to the country and visit the office. THe first date would cost the $150.00 office fee (one time during the visit) and then the $125.00 introduction fee. So the total for just one date would be $275.00. If the client elects to do a second date then it would only be $125.00. It would be the $125.00 for each additional date while he is in that city arranging dates. If he leaves for a few weeks and comes back and starts over there will be a new office fee. If he goes to a new city there will be a new office fee.
If he wants to meet someone outside of the tour city, say like Germany or Poland etc. then it is a flat fee of $275.00 total for each introduction. No office fee as there is no office, however it does cost us more to do the introduction logistically.
All introductions include our staff executing the IMBRA paperwork at the time of the introduction and facilitating the introduction. If they do not meet they are refunded the intro fee.
If the client wishes to have a translator on the date that is extra, normally about $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.
We do not offer the Euro club in Kazakhstan, (not enough profiles, support) so it would have to be a one on one intro.
Conclusion
So, for $275 and your airfare, hotel, food, and other incidentals you can meet an absolutely stunning woman from AFA's catalog. If you have meet several women in the same city it will end up being a bit cheaper per introduction.
This is amazing! You can use the same process to meet any of AFA's women in Asia or Latin America.
You can meet women from the other parts of the world too!
Yes, it is a little pricey, but dating is difficult no matter what you do or where you live. And, really, could you get a date with woman this hot wherever in South Alabama or Western Nebraska?
Heck, even if you live in Santa Monica, which sometimes seems to be overrun with stunning women, it is nearly impossible to set up a date. But if you time watch the deals for airfare you should be able to meet an incredible woman that you believe there might be some chemistry with for about $1000.
These women are serious
One of the main attractions to AFA is it is at heart still a marriage agency, the last American based international marriage agency, and the women who sign up with them are far more serious than girls who sign on to Tinder. At least that has been my experience.
So, it the date goes great that it can quickly turn into an incredible deal - an absolute life changing event. If it doesn't go well AFA has hundreds more beautiful women to consider and since you already paid for airfare why not meet more of the locals?
But please, please, please! Do not write any woman more than ten letters without thinking about calling AFA and setting up a date. It is a big step but it is the right thing to do.
Best Wishes!

2024.05.21 22:58 lostallhope12321 US credit card for Canadians - please help

I moved to the U.S. from Canada last year for school. My credit score in Canada was 885 last time I checked.
I did a credit transfer though Amex and I was able to get a U.S. Amex CC soon after. It’s been almost a year now and I finally got my social security number. I applied for two cards and got rejected both times. Yes I even got declined for the Apple Card which I heard has a near 100% approval rate. In one of the rejection letters, it state that my credit score is around 650.
Is this a super low score? Can someone please advise what’s happening? Anything I can do to improve my score?

2024.05.21 22:35 AvocadoQuartet Emotional Support Animal Requirements for Renters - Pennsylvania

I am temporarily renting my house out while I travel for a year. I have a renter lined up that has a Rottweiler as an emotional support animal. I have questions about what I am legally allowed to request from the potential renter.
I have spoken to my insurance provider and they do not have breed restrictions.
The renter can provide a letter from a medical provider confirming their medical need for an emotional support animal.
Beyond this, can I:
  1. Request a letter from the renter’s vet confirming the dog has no history of aggression or bites?
  2. Require the renter to have renters’ insurance that covers the Rottweiler? (Many policies have breed restrictions.)
  3. Require the renter to have a minimum of $1 million in liability coverage within their renters’ insurance policy that covers any incidences related to the dog?
  4. Require the renter to add me to their renters’ insurance as an additional insured (I have been advised that this costs $0)?
Any information you can provide is appreciated. I’m not finding clear answers online.
Also, I am not looking for a legal “out” to reject the prospective tenant. I would like to rent the property to them. But I want to ensure I’m compliant with the law while also ensuring I am not creating any additional liability for myself as the homeowner.

2024.05.21 22:07 split_in_time33 Is anyone else experiencing this with applications?

I've been applying to new jobs on & off for about 2yrs now. In the last 6mo I've put more effort in my applications. I recently applied to a job which was perfect for me, not only do I have professional experience in this but due to personal circumstances I also have personal experience in this. I sent in a cover letter (which I hate doing as I know they're useless) & I adjusted my resume specifically for this role. I applied at night on a Sunday, by Monday night I had already gotten a rejection... the sh*tty thing is, I've seen this position opened for approx. 6mo. I can't even reach out to anyone about this b/c its not like someone is actually sending these rejections... I really dislike my current job, the environment is so toxic & after the pandemic it got worse. I've been thinking of leaving for years but my current position is remote & I have a mortgage. I can't just quit.
Its been really disappointing, I don't know if I should try to reach out to anyone about this rejection.

2024.05.21 21:16 Impressive-Step6377 Islam Screwed up my Love Life

I was born as a Muslim to Muslim parents, grew up and went to school in a European Christian country, when I was in school as a teen still i used to have good amount of girls being attracted to me, obviously women there are much more open than they are in Islamic countries, and even tho I did like those girls I used to avoid them as much as I could.
I had Girls at my school opening doors for me without even asking them for it, staring at me intensely, wink at me ask questions about me my religion etc, some girls would literally shout at me from across the street to join with them or others send me love letters, I wasn't the school's star but I did get a lot of attention from girls in my school even older ones, and I rejected everyone of them even tho I did get the signs from them and I did like them, hell I even avoided talking or touching them.
Friends of mine would go like "dude didn't you notice how intensively she was looking at you" I rejected all of the girls because it was Haram in my religion to have a gf without being married, I had planned to have my first gf at 21 when I would've gotten married, and I was openly proud about that to everyone, my friends thought I was stupid for saying that and that "I'm losing the chance" I didn't understand them back then I thought they were being degenerate but they were probably right.
My problem isn't that I refrained my self from having fun at that time, it's that it has damaged me until even now since I have 0 experience, i'm a 24 year old man in a shitty relationship that I'm trying to get out of, it's my first ever relationship and it's a torture, I realize it now because I'm pretty sure I made a lot of mistakes out of inexperience and immaturity and I feel like other people in my age know a lot more things than me, I don't even know how to ask women out or get them to a date I'm very awkward with females.
Also my parents don't want me to have a gf, they want to me to be married to a Muslim woman (they don't know I'm not a Muslim anymore) the problem is I don't want to be married especially to a Muslim woman, I don't know how do I get out of this shitty situation how to tell my parents and how to not be an awkward incel, is it really because I didn't date younger or what? Am I wrong for saying this?

2024.05.21 21:04 AmoebaMysterious5938 HR can't decide to interview or not

I applied for a position and 2-3 weeks later the HR sent an invite to interview. I accepted the interview date and time but HR didn't show up. I sent an email right away and 2 days later. Crickets.
They didn't send a rejection letter, they didn't send a new invitation to interview again, but they reposted the position.
I can see the HR is unprofessional, but what else is going on?

So sick of these emails
Got laid off nearly 2 months ago. I’m 40. Was with my previous employer since I was 22. I was damn good at my job and I loved every minute of it. Now that I’m back on the job market I feel rather worthless. Like I’m not qualified to do anything. I know these rejection letters are common and this is only one of about 50 I’ve received since I started applying but this is more or less a rant. The job market sucks and this is awful.

2024.05.21 20:46 -Day-Dreaming- Study Visa

Hello all
I recently applied to a study visa. My father has a compounded name made up of two parts. My offer letter and other university documents have my father's name written as one word. My visa and passport list my father's name as two parts. Is there a high chance that my visa application will be rejected due to this purpose? The difference is only a space (Onetwo in university documentation and One Two in passport and visa application).
Thanks!

2024.05.21 20:05 DavidThorMoses [PubQ] I just got my 20th form rejection, what do I do now? [QCrit] YA Fantasy DRAGONSON (62k/first attempt here)

I was told by a couple different sources not to worry too much about my query until I’ve gotten about 20 rejections. I did my research first, of course, before submitting, but I don’t know what to do to improve my query letter. What can I do? What other websites or resources do you recommend?
Here’s my Query Letter:
To [agent name],
My name is David Shepherd. I (personalized thing for the agent)
My novel, Dragonson, is a Young Adult fantasy of about 62k words.
Jak Dragonson lives in a world where almost all adults have a magic weapon created by the voices of the dead. But they cannot wield the more powerful weapons for fear of being noticed by the dragons who rule them.
One of these dragons kidnapped Jak when he was a child and transformed him into a half-dragon hybrid known as a dragonchild. He serves as a liaison between Tyrant, the ruling dragon, and the people in the valley below.
When Jak receives his own talking magic sword, the sword helps him realize the way he was raised makes him an unlikeable bully. With the help of his sword, a moose, and his dragonsister Valeria, he seeks to find his real family, prevent a rebellion, and try to stop being such a jerk.
Dragonson is comparable in length and tone to Spirit Animals by Brandon Mull, and Ranger’s Apprentice by John Flanagan. The tone is comparable to the Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud. The world-building is comparable to Spirit Animals, and How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell.
I am a stay-at-home dad living in New Jersey, and have been writing seriously for about four years. I have written four novels thus far, Dragonson being the second. I love nature and hiking, hip-hop dancing, and my family. Before my son was born, I studied wilderness conservation at Brigham Young University, where I also took several courses in writing and creative writing. I love and am fascinated by animals. One of my favorite things about writing is the chance to create new and fascinating creatures. I also studied and speak fluent Portuguese and Spanish.
Thank you in advance for your time and your consideration, sincerely David Shepherd.

2024.05.21 19:38 toughgirlwannabe Legal success story

Legal success story
So I’m a foreigner studying in an English speaking country. Due to my own personal reasons (mental health, family put into jail, etc.), my academic journey is less than satisfactory. I needed longer than what’s given to me by the immigration office to complete my degree. I needed to extend my program twice.
The first time when I first applied, I got rejected. The school’s website (following federal guidelines) says no extension will be granted if you got rejected. I got rejected two days before my visa expired, which meant that I didn’t even have time to finish my finals and had to return to my country. I kept affirming that I’ll be approved. I even told my friends that no way I’m not. One day before my visa was to expire, I received a phone call from school asking me to tweak my extension request letter and resubmit. Within that day, I got approved.
However, I needed even longer time to finish my degree. This time, my visa expired on May 10th. The school’s asking all my final grades be posted before they can even consider my request. I finished all my finals on the 9th. It takes time for professors to grade, curve, and upload the grade. On the 10th, my grades got posted, which was the day my visa expired! I then submitted my extension request, spent the whole day asking if there’s any news on my case. This whole time, since maybe a week prior, I was doing STATS. I just imagined seeing the word “approved”. The federal guildlines also say that you MUST maintain your legal status and MUST obtain approval upon the visa expiration date. By the end of the 10th, I heard no news. Then this week, I was asked to submit more documents, which I thought was impossible because legally they cannot process my case post expiration date. But, I just heard back from them today and saw the letter saying “approved”.
Now, I’m going to manifest better grades and graduation next semester. This extension grants me not only being able to continue to study, but three years of work permit!! So it’s extra extra extra significant that I got this.

2024.05.21 19:13 GooseCareless Successful TN Visa at Peace Arch Crossing

Just wanted to thank everyone on here for all the insight. This last weekend my TN application was approved under the accounting profession. My case was fairly open and shut so there really wasn’t anything I was concerned about. The documents I brought to the border were: Passport, Support letter drafted by the company’s lawyer, Employment contract (which was really an extension of the support letter as it had all the position details on it other than duties), my accounting designation (original) and my Resume. The position itself was a “Staff accountant” position. The CBP officer didn’t even want my resume and gave it back to me right away. They first had me write down all my duties and responsibilities on a piece of paper which also allocated certain percentage of time spent in those categories. Then once I completed that I was sent over to a different officer who asked me to explain ‘What my day looks like in my own words’. I had prepared for this so I gave him 6-7 bullet points and brief explanations. They had me sit down for about 30 minutes after that and stamped me through and had me pay the $56.
I don’t suggest going on a weekend if possible (it wasn’t possible for me because I started work on monday and I was in Europe the week before). At first when I was there on the sunday, I could sense their agitation with me being there on a sunday rather than on a weekday (it also didn’t help it was a long weekend). I even overheard the two officers talking amongst themselves while I was sitting down if they should just reject me and have me come back on a weekday. I feel if my case wasn’t so open and shut (accounting profession, staff accountant job, accountant designation) they would have rejected me for this reason.
My support letter did not have wet ink signature and also did not have a company phone number on it. (I wouldn’t suggest doing this as I’m sure they could have easily rejected me on this basis).
Anyway, thank you again everyone and goodluck!

2024.05.21 18:30 Longjumping-Cat-9207 Exposing the Red Cross long history of antisemitism - Rootsmetals

FIRST, WHAT IS THE RED CROSS?
The Red Cross was founded in 1863 by Henry Dunant, a Swiss businessman horrified by what he witnessed in the Italian battlefield during the Battle of Volturno. By 1933, the Red Cross was the central humanitarian player in drafting the modern laws of war. In fact, the Red Cross organized the conference that drafted the original Geneva Convention.

ANTISEMITIC BIAS
The Red Cross has a long history of antisemitic bias; most notably, it served as a propaganda mouthpiece for Nazi Germany and even helped top level Nazis escape prosecution.
After the Holocaust, Jewish survivors not only accused the Red Cross of doing little to help them find surviving family members, but also accused them of being apathetic and having “no feeling.”
But the bias didn’t end there. The Red Cross refused to recognize the Magen David Adom (Red Star of David) until 2006, even though it had long admitted the Muslim Red Crescent. This rejection was hardly just a symbolic issue, as it denied the Magen David Adom protection under international law.
Much like the Red Cross served as a Nazi propaganda mouthpiece during World War II, the Red Cross has periodically parroted Hamas propaganda over the years, only to later take back their claims, after the damage has already been done.

WHY ARE JEWS ANGRY WITH THE RED CROSS?
Since the October 7 massacre, Israel and Jews around the world have asked for the Red Cross to be permitted to visit the hostages held in Gaza, many of whom have chronic health conditions and/or disabilities and one of whom was around nine months pregnant. Unsurprisingly, Hamas has denied the Red Cross access, much like it has denied them access to other hostages and prisoners of war in the past, in complete violation of international law.
Though we hardly expect Hamas to act rationally, the Red Cross, which is in contact with Hamas, has made little tangible effort to access the hostages or information about their condition, or to even contact most of their families. Instead, it has dedicated most of its attention to condemning the Israeli bombings of the Gaza Strip. It has also chastised Israel about a new wartime law that passed in the Israeli Knesset regarding the conditions of security prisoners if a “prison emergency” is declared.

A LONG HISTORY OF ANTISEMITISM
By the start of World War II, the Red Cross, which was based in neutral Switzerland, had a policy of non-interference and “neutrality” regarding the Nazis’ racial policies.
The Red Cross chose only to concern itself with the treatment of prisoners of war from countries that had signed the 1929 Geneva Convention. However, they opted not to interfere regarding the treatment of civilians.
Following Hitler’s rise to power in 1933, the Red Cross chose to “conform” to the new regime, rather than oppose it. In fact, an SS general, Ernst-Robert Grawitz, became the head of the German Red Cross in 1933. Grawitz was closely involved in the plans to murder disabled people and in Nazi medical experimentation. The German Red Cross thus essentially became a Nazi medical unit, rather than a humanitarian organization. When pressed about it, the German Red Cross claimed that, by allying themselves with the Nazi regime, they’d have access to concentration camps, which would ensure that the inmates would be “treated better.”

THE RED CROSS KNEW ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST AS THE HOLOCAUST WAS CARRIED OUT
In the 1990s, the Red Cross finally officially admitted that they’d long had previous knowledge of the Nazis’ plans for the total extermination of Jews and Roma.
As early as 1933, the Red Cross received desperate pleas from prisoners in Dachau concentration camp, begging for intervention. By 1942, the Red Cross had full knowledge of the Germans’ atrocities. In early 1945, the president of the Red Cross wrote, “Concerning the Jewish problem in Germany, we are in close and continual contact with the German authorities.” The use of the phrase “Jewish problem,” of course, is indicative of the attitude of the Red Cross, considering the very same phrase was used in the Nazis’ “final solution to the Jewish problem” (in other words, the Nazi plan for the total genocide of the Jewish People).
A representative of the Red Cross who’d visited several of the camps falsely claimed that other than segregation, “no other discrimination was made against [Jewish POWs].”

THE RED CROSS PEDDLED NAZI PROPAGANDA
By 1943, word of German atrocities toward the Jewish People had spread throughout the world. Following the deportation of ~500 Danish Jews to Theresienstadt, the Danish authorities pressured the International Red Cross to visit the camp/ghetto to check on its conditions.
The Nazis saw this visit as an opportunity to spread their propaganda. Nearly 8000 Jews were immediately sent to Auschwitz to counteract reports of overcrowding in Theresienstadt. In Auschwitz, these Jews were placed in a “special unit” in the event that the Red Cross chose to visit them.
The camp/ghetto was “cleaned up.” For example, buildings were painted and a football field was staged. “Cultural activities” were promoted to create the illusion that the Jewish prisoners were thriving. The Red Cross officials were taken on a tour of a pre-planned route and interviewed prisoners who’d been trained on what to say. Unsurprisingly, the Red Cross left Theresienstadt with a glowing report.

THE RED CROSS HELPED NAZIS ESCAPE AFTER WORLD WAR II
Both the Red Cross and the Vatican were responsible for the escape of thousands of high-level Nazi officials after the end of the war. In fact, the two worked together to ensure their escape. The Red Cross alone was responsible for issuing around 120,000 travel documents, many to Nazis. They also issued 25,000 new identity documents. It was due to the actions of the Red Cross that high-level war criminals such as Adolf Eichmann and Josef Mengele were able to escape.
To this day, the Red Cross has refused to comment on these findings, claiming that the travel documents were “misused” by war criminals, rather than acknowledging that the organization took an active role in ensuring their escape. The Red Cross also claims that individual Nazi sympathizers within the organization were responsible for this; in other words, this was a problem of a few bad apples. In reality, recent findings show that this was a systemic problem and that high-level Red Cross officials were well-aware of the issue.
In the decades after the war, the Red Cross continually whitewashed its actions both during and after the Holocaust, only admitting to some wrongdoing in the 1990s.

OBFUSCATING MORAL CLARITY
There are few situations in life where the moral stance should be crystal clear. Opposition to Hamas — and to the Nazis — is one of these cases. Yet, much like the Hamas propaganda machine has worked overtime to obfuscate the moral clarity of 10/7, so did the Red Cross obfuscate the moral clarity of bringing Nazi war criminals to justice.
The second in command at the Red Cross, Carl Jacob Burckhardt, even decried the Nuremberg Trials, calling them “Jewish revenge.”

I made another mini game, this time for Arcanum. The mini game only uses the alphabets of your username. Numbers and symbols on your username doesn't play a role no matter its placement. Example username: 0-hugsandkisses_123 First letter = H Last letter = S For the number needed, it's the rightmost digit of your login streak. (The ones digit.)
Sample with my details: 1: rightmost digit of your latest RC daily login streak = XX4 2: first alphabet of your username = chocoPannaCotta 3: last alphabet of your username = chocoPannaCotta
4, C, A "Mary and I had migraines because publishers rejected our fairy tale book."
Check out the WTC Mini Game too, if you haven't yet.
Made just for fun, and I hope you'll enjoy it!
