Overpowered tier:
Force of entrophy:+30 ability haste+30% critical strike chance+900 health
if you didnt know the build of old skarner on arena (moonstone, rite of ruin, atmas)
this item it straight up cracked on old skarner, it way better than atmas in almost ever siingle way, with more early critical chance for the rite of ruin, (70 crit in total with rite of ruin) ton of health and cdr.
skarner is an cc machine this item woudl make skarner ult for example to supress for more than 2.5 seconds only on his ult. basicly this item make the build path of old skarner like 200% better, has insane combos with his kit and his rite of ruin.
Moonflair spellblade:+70 ability power+350 health+30% tenacity
aside from tenacity this item dosent excels than any others stat wise, the reason moonflairs is overpowers it becuase how skarner cd refund on q and e works, this item is like a cracked navori and seems it procks with every single q you spam your are jsut spaming q into w into e, with every single ability you press you get 90% attack speed and a free auto reset. it not as good as force becuase it dosent help at all the moonstone build (the main core of skarner) and you will be locked with 40% crit change of rite of ruin.
Innervating locket:+70 ability power+20 ability haste+200 health
UNIQUE – FILL THE SOUL: Gain a charge each time you or champions within 800 units cast an ability, up to 30. At maximum charges, gain a 400 − 750 (based on level) shield, 100 − 250 (based on level) ability power, and 15% − 25% (based on level) bonus movement speed for the rest of the round.
skarner has one of the most spammable abilities on the game, his q with a couple of cdr would just fill up this thing as quicly as poissble when fully stack provide a lot of damage and shield from your w and rite of ruin and the ms is nice too, actually this item would make ap skarner viable but it dosent help the standard buildpath of skarner.
Cruelty: it alsmot guaranted hit on skarner
Strong tier: this gonna be a quick rundown.
empyren promise: pretty fk good stats and has heal and shield power help a lot your build besides not having crit chance
Divine sundered: it divine sunderer
radiant virtue: fk amazing item with it effect and now has shield power
the other you can figure it out yourself but overall skarner would be great if not better if they didnt remove it from the mode, but if arena manage to STAY PERMANENT this might no be the last time we see old skarner in arena.

I created a 2x3 city (DensityMod), population 154. City Hall, Diner, Commercial Tower, Hotel, 2x Townhouse2. "Long" game. Current Social Credit level 5.
Had murders turned off for a little while, just worked on arrest warrants. With a population this small, 3 times I ended up arresting someone I'd already arrested before. Two of my arrestees lived together. I came to arrest one, then a couple of jobs later I had to come back for the other one. The first one was "out" already (is there even a jail?).
One of the people I arrested was later murdered after I turned murders on.
The first murderer's apartment was later occupied by the second murderer's victim. In fact I was frequently ending up at the same apartments over and over again. I guess that makes sense, as there are only maybe 60-70 apartments in the city, one of them is mine, and 7-8 others are unoccupied for sale.
At this point I've looked through almost every business' employee files, and I've got the Beauty disk and the V-Love disk maxed out so I have a good bit of info on just about everyone at the ready. Very few people have turned me down when I've asked for their fingerprints for no reason. I've gone around and talked to all of the homeless people I could find. The last 2-3 arrest jobs I did I had the name instantly when I took the job.

2024.05.21 20:16 jaybhum I made an app to solve loneliness. 14,000 minutes of voice messages later:

I hope you are doing better today than yesterday. (TLDR at the end; or enjoy my story :) )

Why:

About 11 months ago, I launched my app for the first time on lonely because I had previously experienced loneliness myself during grad school. I wanted to reach out to people going through similar experiences by providing them with what would’ve helped me in the past.
I felt this was an important mission for me and a much more rewarding one than my day job that I quit my job to work on the app full-time.
It was necessary because I did not come from a programming background. I knew how to program in the sense of running scientific simulations on MATLAB, but creating the front-end and back-end for a consumer app was totally new to me, so I had to learn from scratch.
I enjoyed everyday going to a cafe to learn from programming crash courses on YouTube, developing the app little by little, and eventually launching the app! The initial response was actually pretty great: 220 upvotes for the app launch post, which I proudly pinned in my bio :)

How:

I made the app to be based on voice, and nothing else: no profiles, no profile photos, and even no texts. The reason for that was I felt a lot of people felt lonely and had trouble finding meaningful online connections because of the modern communication medium which actually promotes superficial and viral contents over authentic and long-form contents. It is easy to see from examples: TikTok’s 30 second videos, Instagram’s eye-popping photos by beautiful people from the globe, and Twitter(X)’s 140-char spicy takes. Sure, these platforms offer us information about DIYs, trends, and news that can enrich our lives and entertain us, but they don’t by all means help us feel more connected to individuals. Even on Reddit, the contents tend to be more wholesome and there are hilarious comments that build on top of each other, but the actual sense of connection you feel with the users is tenuous.
Focusing on voice worked! It was incredible listening to the heartfelt messages from strangers from all over the world who opened up about their loneliness and didn’t mind being vulnerable to other strangers. I have personally spoke with everyone that came by. The 14k minutes of voice messages do not include my own voice messages; they are all messages that people left for their own posts, to each other, or as replies to me.

Highlights:

There were some incredible moments, which would be too long to share in this post (leave a comment if you want to hear more!), but some of the highlights were (note: these are all from public conversations):
What was also incredible was that there were not only people experiencing loneliness here, but also people who did not feel lonely but were on the app to support others going through loneliness. They would share stories and studies related to loneliness in their posts, and also try to talk to some lonely folks on the app who seemed very hardened by their experience of loneliness which made them cynical and pessimistic. The concept of compassionate listening by Thich Nhat Hanh and Polyvagal theory that explains 3 levels of our nervous system are a few things they mentioned that come to my mind. Unfortunately, these efforts by supporters were often, so to speak, ineffective in solving people’s loneliness.

What I learned:

And that was part of what made it so hard to have a sustainable ecosystem on my app: many people who have been lonely for a long period of time had their personalities and social skills hardened to the point that they either:
My hope for the app was to help people who experience loneliness find and support each other. By providing the platform for them to voice out their stories, have them be heard by others, and find others who resonate and reply, I thought they would finally find friends whom they can relate to, share their lives with, and would no longer have to feel lonely again.
However, the reality was that many were hardened by loneliness and it was hard for such connections to materialize. Plus, one of the main ways for an app like this to grow is by word of mouth. Unfortunately, most people experiencing loneliness did not have anyone to share the app with, which stunted the app’s growth and mostly depended on me manually bringing users onto the platform.
With fewer chances of having good interactions, even the people who really resonated with the app and shared stories slowly stopped coming back. Some just suddenly ghosted, which made the experience on the app painful for other engaged people on the app.

My hope for the future:

I still believe that there are more people out there experiencing loneliness who have the deep desire to share their stories and find the long-term friends across the globe who understand each other and can share slices of their lives with.
So, if you are someone that can benefit from sharing stories and solve your loneliness this way, feel free to check out my app at https://bubblic.app
Also, if you know of any way I can improve the app to better help people experiencing loneliness, please leave a comment.
Lastly, word of mouth would really help. If you like the app, or if you know someone who would benefit from the app, please share it with others!

TLDR:

I created an app focused on voice communication to help lonely people connect, inspired by my own experiences. Despite an encouraging start and meaningful interactions, many users struggled to form lasting connections due to the deep impact of their loneliness. Growth has been slow, mainly reliant on my efforts. If you know someone who might benefit, please share my app: https://bubblic.app. Feedback is also welcome!

2024.05.21 20:15 OA1125 How are my stats for applying so far?

Greetings. I just wrapped up my undergrad in Biology with a cGPA of 3.74. I believe my sGPA is a 3.78 if I did the calculations correct. I am not looking to apply this cycle, but the next one (2 gap years), and I was looking at what actions I could take to improve my application. These are my stats so far, but I also included the projected stats by the time I apply. I am currently studying for the MCAT and plan on taking it this summer. During the course of the next year, I plan on continuing to work at my two clinical jobs, getting more volunteer experience, and getting more shadowing experience. My hours will only increase during the application cycle too, so it will actually be higher by the time I get into medical school. My main concern is my lower GPA
General Stats - Low Income, first generation college student, immigrant (born in another country), NY resident - cGPA: 3.74, sGPA: 3.78 - Goal MCAT Score: 516
Paid clinical Experience - Nurse Attendant: 1120 hours (2080 hours projected by next cycle) - Medical Scribe: 131 hours (612 hours projected by next cycle)
Paid non-clinical experience - Wendy's Crew Member: 1,584 hours, Wendy's Manager (Leadership): 864 hours - Best Buy Sales Associate: 1,872 hours - T-Mobile Sales Associate: 1,200 hours
Leadership - Just the Wendy's Manager as I mentioned above
Clinical Volunteering - Hospice Volunteer: 53 hours (245+ hours projected by next cycle)
Non-clinical Volunteering - Crisis Text Counselor: 45 hours (237+ hours projected by next cycle)
Shadowing - 29 hours across 3 specialties (100+ hours goal by next cycle)
Research: - No Research :( I've applied for multiple research experiences, but I've either gotten rejected or told that I would need to dedicate 4+ days during the week and not get paid. This means I would have to quit one/both of my jobs which I can't afford to do since I rely on them for income. I'm still going to try to get some research before I apply by finding something that fits my schedule or getting a paid position, but there's no guarantee for now

2024.05.21 20:11 ThrowRA-banana-369 How can I (26m) help my wife (25f)'s anxiety and stop my resentment?

My (25F) wife and I (26M) have been together for 8 years, married for 2. When we first started dating in college things were pretty normal. We would go out with friends, attend school events, go on dates, etc. My wife has always had anxiety and depression, but recently it's been getting worse and really effecting our lives. In college my wife held down a part time job and went to classes full time. This wasn't without struggle for her, some days she would be so anxious or depressed she wouldn't go to work, but was an overall reliable and stable worker who was offered a promotion she turned down.
When she turned 21 she gained access to stocks her grandfather left for her, this was also at the beginning of covid so she quit her job and resolved to live off of her stocks until the pandemic was over and focus on school while I kept working my job and attending classes. At this point in time we were living together and as long as she could come up with her half of the rent and groceries I did not say anything about how she wanted to spend her inheritance. Fast forward to a year into the pandemic and her stocks have run out just as her uncle passes and leaves a good sum of money to her. Seeing how fast she went through the first lump of money I convinced her that it would be smart for her to work still and not count on living off of this money as it wouldn't last very long. She agreed and got a job doing office work. We got married and were doing well, finally moved into a place without roommates and got some gur babies. A few months after getting married her anxiety was worse than before regarding working and began to effect her reliable and work performance. As time passed she began jokingly stating how she was learning she's autistic from TikTok and how much autistic people can't work. Everything she would point out did make sense and match up with her so I have no doubt she is autistic. As things progress she gets to the point where she quits her job stating it's too much for her anxiety and she needs a break before finding a new job due to being burnt out and needing to focus on her mental health. During this break she takes a turn. She becomes so depressed and anxious that I don't know how to help her outside of encouraging her to get appointments with a therapist and rework her meds all while her second inheritance is running out because my job alone cannot support us.
She's been out of work for a year now and we moved to a new city with some friends (a plan long in the making). I have a full time job and before moving to the city we spoke about her working part time (10-16 hours a week) so we could afford our new life. She agreed and we set a deadline of "before May" she should have strong leads on jobs and interviews. It's now well into May and she hasn't done a single interview, gets so overwhelmed at the thought of working it causes anxiety attacks, and she's gotten to the point where she will not leave the house alone or with me. The only time she leaves the house is to accompany me in driving to pick up groceries or if we are going out with a group of friends.
She states that she doesn't know how she's expected to find a job when she's autistic and agoraphobic, seeing her worked up over it I gritted my teeth and am now looking for a part time job I can work outside of my full time job. I can't help but feel resentment building inside me knowing I will be working 50-60 hours a week just for us to scrape by when she gets to be home and has been home for over a year now with the responsibility of doing a little over half of the house chores. And being resentful that we could have had a good size savings at this point if she had been working all that time instead of living off of her inheritance.
How do I go about this? I don't know what I can do to stop the resentment in me and help her get to a place where she can function as a self dependent human being again. I see her melt down about leaving the house and how stressful finding a job is, but anytime I try to help her or comfort her she snaps at me and tells me not to patronize her which is only adding to my frustration. If I offer to do something for her, 99% of the time she responds with "No you shouldn't have to do that for me, I should be able to do it myself". Even getting her to make a virtual doctors appointment to refill her medications is at the point of me setting up the app and handing it to her ready for her to click the "join" button to speak with someone and she can't do it. Any advice is greatly appreciated, I love my wife and our little family but I know this isn't sustainable.

2024.05.21 20:09 LunarLykta My chronic illness makes life not worth living

I've been chronically ill since the age of 12. I'm now almost 30. I don't have health care to go to doctors or get the help/medication that I so desperately need. I can't keep a job because of how often I'm sick. I can't do the things that used to make me happy. I have no quality of life and have researched so many ways to attempt, only to be deterred out of fear that I'll fail and end up suffering as a vegetable. Can't shoot myself; it's too messy. Can't OD on meds; what if I just get excruciating organ damage. Can't jump off a building; what about possible bystanders I may traumatize? I've stayed this long because I don't want my mom to be heartbroken, but I want to be selfish and do something for me for once. I'm tired. It's not fair. I may see if I can get my hands on some heroin. I've never done it, but I think that might be my best option. An old friend of mine overdosed in her bed with a needle in her arm. She looked peaceful enough.. Maybe that's what I'll do

2024.05.21 20:09 defleshed23 what should i do in ky situation?

Hey guys i would appreciate an advice. been without a job for 8 months and finally landed something that's in my field. The pay is anything but great and its 10-20:00 which im finding hard to accept. The main issue is it's between 1 and 2 hours of commute by bus then train then bus again and if i leave home 8:30 am i cant get home before 10. did it few days and literally feeling like not going again. i did the same job before (technician in a shop) but locally at the edge of London within 10 min walk from my home and it was standard 10-18:00 for better pay despite the short hours. unfortunately my gf works in the area and has to be at worm very early so there's no way we could move more central as she'll never be able to get to work from almost anywhere unless she remains local. we also loce the area as unlikely rest of London its not crowded and its green and lacks crime, however there's virtually no jobs anywhere nearby for myself as the few shops that are in the surrounding areas are not looking for staff and 1 of them offers 60£ for 10 hours 🤣. the new job isn't much better but definitely not as bad. We also had a tenant (sublet a room) that left just now and finding another is going to be very hard as we cant trust a stranger considering our flat has no locks on the door so there's no guarantee we wont get robbed but at the same time we cant afford the flat and we certainly have no means to rent anything else as we will never be able to pay the extortionate deposits and often 2-3-4 months in advance as my savings are down to 0 after so long + our place is rather cheap comparison to the market now. I had some mental and physical issues years ago caused by commuting for an hour by busses and since then I've been doing everything humanly possible to avoid it as a plague as i cant go back to that state again but at the same time if i refuse i got no idea what to do as for 8 months I've had literally no job offers despite constantly applying including outside of my field and checking my cv by professionals e.t.c.

Not for distribution to United States newswire services or for dissemination in the United States
VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / May 21, 2024 / Arras Minerals Corp. (TSXV:ARK) ("Arras" or "the Company") is pleased to announce a non-brokered private placement financing (the "Offering") of up to 7,692,308 units of the Company ("Units") at a price per Unit of C$0.26 (the "Offering Price") for aggregate gross proceeds of up to C$2 million.
Darren Klinck, President of Arras, commented, "Over the past 18 months since we announced the initial strategic equity investment by Teck, Arras has successfully and significantly advanced our project portfolio in Kazakhstan with the funding from that associated financing in 2022. We are now pleased to have a strategic alliance with Teck on a portion of our land package and a US$2.5 million budget in 2024 funded by Teck which is expected to advance targets to drill-ready status this year. In addition, the highly successful soil-sampling program at our 100%-owned Elemes project which we announced results from in Q1 this year, has attracted considerable attention from major mining companies as we have identified two coherent copper-in-soil anomalies stretching more than 8 km each and containing porphyry mineralization which Arras intends to begin testing later this year."
Tim Barry, CEO of Arras, went on to add, "As we commence our third field season this month in Kazakhstan, we expect to be advancing and drilling at least three new copper-gold porphyry targets this year. By utilizing modern exploration techniques in a region that has had very little to no exploration focus since pre-1990, our thesis is continuing to strengthen that the Bozshakol-Chingiz metallogenic belt has the potential to contain multiple new copper-gold deposits masked under shallow cover. This is truly a very exciting time for Arras as we quickly advance in a new tier-one jurisdiction for exploration of base and precious metals."
Private Placement Terms
Under the Offering, each Unit shall comprise of one (1) common share in the capital of the Company (each, a "Common Share") and one-half of one (1/2) non-transferable Common Share purchase warrant (each whole warrant, a "Warrant"). Each whole Warrant will entitle the holder thereof to purchase one (1) additional Common Share at a price of C$$0.40 for a period of (3) years from closing of the Offering (the "Expiry Date").
In the event the volume weighted average trading price of the Common Shares on the TSX Venture Exchange (the "TSXV") meets or exceeds C$$0.60 for fifteen (15) consecutive trading days at any time after four months and one day following closing of the Offering, the Company shall have the option, but not the obligation, at any time thereafter to accelerate the Expiry Date to a date that is thirty (30) days following the date of issuance of a press release by the Company announcing the acceleration of the Expiry Date.
The net proceeds of the Offering will be used to advance the Company's exploration program in Kazakhstan and for general corporate purposes. Finders' fees may be payable on a portion of the Offering in accordance with applicable laws and TSXV policies.
The Offering is scheduled to close on or about June 4, 2024 and is subject to the approval of the TSXV. The securities issued pursuant to the Offering will be subject to a four-month hold period in Canada and will be subject to U.S. resale restrictions under U.S. securities laws as applicable.
The securities to be sold in the Offering have not been, and will not be, registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended ("U.S. Securities Act"), or any state or other applicable jurisdiction's securities laws, and may not be offered or sold in the United States absent registration or an applicable exemption from the registration requirements of the U.S. Securities Act and applicable state or other jurisdictions' securities laws. About 11 months ago, I launched my app here for the first time because I had previously experienced loneliness myself during grad school.
The initial response was actually pretty great: 220 upvotes for the app launch post I made here, which I proudly pinned in my bio :)

How:

I made the app to be based on voice, and nothing else: no profiles, no profile photos, and even no texting.

2024.05.21 19:51 Complete-Raspberry16 Handling jobs that require high organization as someone with ADHD?

Long story short - I just came off of my first job out of university where I didn't have much mentorship, and I got fired for "poor work," and all of the details around the "poor work" were ADHD related. How are people with ADHD managing to keep jobs that require excellent organizational skills (and not hate them)?
(I tried posting it on ADHD) but they wouldn't let me for some reason.
Longer story:
I got hired and there was a lot of disruptions shortly afterwards due to my mothers' health (I worked remotely for a bit to help her out). Then, I worked half days for a month while starting new medications that help to regulate mood. After that, I came back to work full time, and that's where things started to get really bad.
My boss (and coworker) would look at me like I was the stupidest person because I didn't remember details from a meeting that happened over a month ago. I seldom got feedback, despite asking for it. I admittedly did miss some details at times, but hardly anything that completely ruined a project. Time management was tough, because I was given a list of things to do, without any context, and quite frankly ambiguous deadlines (there were deadlines, but there were so arbitrary). Then, when I inevitably didn't hit the deadlines, nothing happened. No reprimands, nothing. Until about 4 months later when I was told that by not hitting a deadline the project was unable to move forward. Another point of contention was when I asked for flexible start times (i.e. come in anytime between 8:00-8:30 rather than a firm 8:15 start time) I was told no, the job starts at 8:15 firm (that should have been my first red flag that I'd struggle here). My boss tried to help me a bit with time management by telling me to "time block" my day and stick to the time blocks, but that hardly works for me. Firm times might as well be a death sentence as far as work goes. I do much better by task rather than by time. And projects that took longer than 2-3 weeks were very difficult for me to keep on top of, especially when there was no perceived consequences for not finishing completely (no one told me the effects not finishing it might have). Other things that were an issue were that I was (allegedly) given verbal feedback that I didn't remember, or I lost the notes, etc. (but I did develop systems to keep track of that feedback for the most part, it just took me 7 or so months because I didn't have any guidance). I was also completely unable to balance competing priorities (that once I did not find a suitable solution to, and is a weak spot for me). I even got in trouble because I didn't get a task right after one round of minimal feedback, for a task that I had never done before (and I told my boss that too!).
Anyways, I basically got let go because of poor organization, time management, and attention to detail (all of which had substantial improvements since I started the job, since I was adapting and learning how to keep things organized).
Now I'm honestly scared to even apply for jobs because my first job was such a terrible experience for me (I learned a lot, but also had some of the worst anxiety of my life). My field is in public policy, which seems to lend itsself to a lot of jobs that seem like such a bad fit for someone with ADHD due to ambiguous timelines, the need for high project management skills, high need for organization skills, etc. I feel so deflated from my last job experience where my boss was too busy with her own work (and career advancement) to mentor a new employee.
I'm not particularly tied to this field of work, but I just finished a masters' degree (which was also a terrible experience for me) and I'm not particularly interested in going back to school (it also isn't super financially responsible at the moment).
TL;DR So, my question is, how are people with ADHD managing to keep a job, especially one that requires excellent organizational skills?

Background

After years of racing on the track I transitioned to the pavement and ran my first HM at the end of 2022. In the ~1.5 years since then, I’ve trained almost exclusively for the HM running one in May and December of last year.
Since college, I’ve mostly hovered around 50-60 mpw never really drifting higher than 80. I’ve always been hesitant to run more than that due to a stress fracture I got junior year when I was pushing 90+ weeks. But last summer I raced in the Denver iteration of the Tracksmith 5000 twilight meet and realized the main difference in my training compared to everyone faster than me was their higher mileage. Volume is king.
That has been the goal of my training since then – increasing my mileage and getting comfortable with 100 mile weeks. Before the 5k I was averaging about 55 mpw per 12-week cycle, and since then I’ve averaged 78 mpw per cycle with a few 100 mi weeks sprinkled in.
My original plan for 2024 was to keep running HMs, but my friend convinced me to run my first marathon this year. He was entered into Chicago, so I applied and got in via the lottery. I wanted to run an HM this spring, but everyone I talked to said I should get a marathon under my belt, so I could have things really dialed in for Chicago. Enter Denver's Colfax Marathon.

Training

I have had good success following the Pfitz HM plans so I stuck with him and roughly followed his 12/85+ plan. For the most part I felt ok with this plan, but I feel like there wasn't enough quality work. For example, one week is 105 total miles with the only real workout being 7 mi @ LT. Maybe that's just the formula some weeks for marathon training but it felt like too much easy running. I ended up tweaking some weeks and swapping an easy day for an additional threshold workout.
I had a few rough weeks where I had trouble holding MP for even a mile or two. Before you ask, no - I don't think it was from these additional workouts I sprinkled in, but poor nutrition and not eating enough. Once I upped the carb and protein intake for a few weeks my energy levels started to come back.
The last few weeks of training things finally started to click and wrapped up the block with a 10k PR, 32:20 (31:35ish? altitude conversion). Previous PR was a 32:59 split during a HM. I don’t put too much stock into conversions, but it was a big confidence boost and sign I was trending in the right direction. I followed that up a week later with my best workout of the block, a 23-miler with 13.1 mi @ 5:38 avg.
Unfortunately, I caught a stomach bug during the taper and spent 4-days unable to keep any food down. I barely ran, but focused on recovery with a few runs to keep the legs from feeling too stale.

Pre-race

Nothing earth shattering here. 6AM race. Woke up at 3 for two pop tarts and half a bagel and went back to sleep for a bit. Ate half of a Clif bar at 5 AM before a short 1.5 mi warmup and drills at 5:30. It was going to be 60-65 degrees for most of the race so I made an effort to get a lot of fluids down.

Race

The course is conveniently broken down into 5 sections so I'll break down the race by those.
Section 1: 0 - 6.5 mi
The course starts with a long gradual downhill through downtown. The marathon relay starts at the same time so we went out a little hot. I wanted to start the first half of the race running 5:50s, but the front relay runners went out at 5:00 pace and I got pulled into 5:35’s. I scanned the pack for people without batons and found 2 other non-relay runners nearby. They were shooting for ~2:40 so we were all able to slow things down as a pack and settled into 5:45s. Took my first gel at mile 5 going into Mile High.
Section 2: 6.5 - 9.2 mi
Big uphill out of the stadium before lapping Sloan’s Lake. We started to catch back up to some relay teams at this point and it gets nice and flat around the lake. Our little pack picked up the pace and we clicked off a few 5:35s. Second gel a little earlier than I wanted at mile 9, but I wanted to take advantage of the water station shortly after.
Section 3: 9.2 -15.2 mi
My least favorite part of the course. It’s mostly a gradual uphill into a hilly little neighborhood with a lot of turns sprinkled in. Our pack was all alone at this point, in no man's land between the faster relay teams and everyone else. We went through the halfway mark a tad under 1:15 and one of the lead guys (who I later found out was 2:11 marathoner Fernando Cabada) started wondering if we could hit the Colorado state masters marathon record of 2:28. I wanted to slow things down during this hilly section, but hmm maybe? We kept pushing. 3rd gel at mile 15.
Section 4: 15.2 – 19.2 mi
At this point, the 3rd guy dropped so it was just me and Fernando. This section of the course is long, straight, and back down the gradual uphill we made our way up earlier. Again, he asked, “2:28”? Sure, might as well try. I knew we still had a long way left, but I was feeling good and feeling greedy. We took advantage of the downhill and clicked off a few miles at 5:25. Fourth and final gel going back into the stadium at mile 19.
Section 5: 19.2 – 26.2 mi
I knew this section would be tough. It’s a few miles of flat, before a few miles of gradual uphill through downtown and back into the park. There’s a tight hairpin turn from the bike path up into the streets of downtown and it was here that I felt a quick little spasm in my hamstring. I slowed things down a little hoping to stave off anything more, but both hamstrings and quads completely cramped up right before mile 23. I couldn’t take a step without my legs cramping up again so I stood there for a few minutes debating the DNF. Even my toes started cramping!
After a few painful minutes, I was finally able to move my legs so I decided I would at least walk it in and get a finishing time even if I had to crawl across the line. The last 3 miles were at a slow jog to prevent more cramping, but I ran into a few friends spectating so spirits remained somewhat high through the finish.

Post-race

I’m proud of myself for finishing the race even if it wasn’t the outcome I wanted. I can officially call myself a marathoner. I went for it. I failed, but that's running. My legs had been feeling tight since being sick so maybe that played a part, but I definitely should have increased fluid intake throughout the race. A lot of woulda coulda shouldas, but it was a huge learning experience which was the main point of signing up for this race in the first place.
I'm feeling extra motivated and ready to rip at Chicago. Hope to see some of y’all there!

2024.05.21 19:43 bodynasr Naafiri hasn't even reached one year on the rift and she already became the least picked champion in the game

Naafiri hasn't even reached one year on the rift and she already became the least picked champion in the game
Ziggs mid is less popular but if you combine both Ziggs bot and Ziggs mid, their pickrate is higher than Naafiri
Naafiri is a good case on what Riot should avoid in champion design
1- The end goal was terrible
“A while back, our champion design lead, August Browning, did an analysis of our whole roster and categorized each champ by role, class, and difficulty in order to find some opportunity areas for players,” game designer Glenn “Riot Twin Enso” Anderson reveals. “He ended up finding two major holes: a higher skill tank, which ended up being K’Sante, and a relatively simple and beginner-friendly assassin, which became Naafiri.”” - Naafiri champ insights June 2023
These were a bit of flawed goals, Tank like K'Sante having so much agency forces him to be permanently bound to being highest presence in pro play despite multiple adjustments, nerfs and reworks so he has to remain as 45% WR while an assassin with literally no skill ceiling gets dropped by mid lane players almost immediately and thus have an abysmal pickrate
2-"Monster champions have low pickrate" was used as an excuse to not follow up on Naafiri's post release
Naafiri was in fact just a check box, community kept asking for a monster champions and Riot wanted to fill the gap in their roster so they just checked both boxes, released the filler champ and moved on to the next project.
They didn't stop to think that maybe the brand new easy/intro champion should at the very minimum have same pickrate as other niche assasins as players should find immediate success when they pick her up
Sure, there is truth to it, if Naafiri had a model that looked like the other darkin champions but female, she would have had higher pickrate but there are also tons of monster champions who are faring well in terms of popularity with much older kits and worse looking models.
3-Naafiri should have been allowed to jungle
I can understand why not let her jungle at the first month or two as to push her identity as a mid laner or solo laner but once the dust settled down and mid laners voted with their pickrate that they don't want to play this absolutely boring kit, Riot should have immediately given some jungle ratios and see how she would fare in the jungle
Riot literally buffed Sylas, Olaf, Zyra, Brand, Sett and others to push them to jungle and attract more pickrate for these champions, but the least popular champion in the game isn't looked at?
I don't see any reason why Naafiri shouldn't have been allowed to jungle, Junglers are more receptacle to monster champions. If Naafiri would be problematic and get +30% banrate then sure remove her jungle modifiers but at the very least give it a shot and see if her dwindling playerbase would recover from its death spiral
4- Her kit has an identity issue as she plays like a skirmisher rather than an assassin
-her engage ability [W] is a point and clash dash that has long channel time and can be blocked by other enemies standing in its path so her back line access is pretty shit specially the higher in MMR you go and enemy team has that knowledge. Diana E for example has the same range of Naafiri until Naafiri hits lvl 11 but she has no cast time and other champions can't block it
the cast time of W gives too much counterplay, any champion with an ounce of hard CC can easily interrupt Naafiri mid dash [Hwei EQ, Syndra E, Lux Q, etc] compare that to the instanteous Diana dash's case where the enemy mid laner has to predict that Diana will dash and throw his CC early to stop Diana mid dash
-she has no escape tools but to compensate she gets shields from her R + on her take downs as well
-The bleed in her kit synergizes with Black Cleaver [Bruiser item]
-So is she a good skirmisher? not really, she lacks any form of CC whether slows or hard CC, that greatly diminishes her skirmishing
5- The kit has nothing to master and the narrative is disconnected from the gameplay
shes literally a nothing burger, she has no skill expression and she gets boring after the third game as her gameplay loop gets very repetitive and boring.
her E is the only redeeming ability in her kit as she dishes out damage at start of the dash and then at the end of the dash, she deals even more damage in an explosion but the fun thing about the abilitiy is that it immediately recalls your dogs and heals them up
her R is you get more dogs and bonus AD + shield, the cool part is that the dogs get a small boost in HP so they could survive getting one shot, I like that part
the champion theme is the pack and half her voice lines are all about unity and how the pack makes her strong and that a lone dog is weak, etc. etc.
where is that pack in her gameplay???
why don't her abilities get some twists depending on how many dogs she has? doesn't have to be more or less numbers in her damage but literally anything so maybe when I play Naafiri,
Naafiri has the tools in her kit to protect and heal her pack and but she is punished for protecting her pups as she blows her mana, cooldowns, damage and her cooldown for literally no gain
to reiterate, I don't say Naafiri should have been a high skill floor champion but there are lots of champions that have low skill floor and are newbie friendly but also moderate to high skill ceiling to encourage players to main them and not get bored after a few games.
Closing notes:
its a shame how Naafiri turned out, her in game model is cool and very different from your average league champion, the dogs AI is smart and I love that they can help you CS and they move smoothly around you, her R animation and sound really sells the whole unleash the pack vibe, the animators, riggers, vfx artists all did a wonderful job.
but the gameplay is horrendous and she is doomed to be the lowest pickrate champ in the game unless she's balanced around having 52% WR and her pickrate will still be bottom 20 as you can't bribe players with winrate to play this boring ass champion
No other newly released champion in League's history had their pickrate plummet this quickly and sharply after their release
to understand how bad Naafiri pickrate is, it took Rell ~2 years after her release to get the midscope rework and Rell's pickrate pre midscope was higher than current Naafiri.

2024.05.21 19:43 Capable-Place107 From High blood pressure to low blood pressure? M27, ex-smoker

Hello,
A few days I (male, 27 years old) got sent into the ER to check for a heart attack. Luckily it was not a heart attack. Since then I quit smoking and coffeine entirely.
I’m 6‘1 and weigh 286 lbs. currently located in Germany.
I used to smoke up to 30 cigarettes per day and drank approx. two redbulls per day.
Now my blood pressure (Sys/Dys) and Pulse looks like this (today I took 2,5mg of Bisolich (Betablocker) usually I’m on 5mg per day).
95/51 - 52 100/48 - 56 109/54 - 55 115/61 - 60 119/80 - 64
Before I quit smoking and caffein it looked like this a year ago:
142/84 - 100 150/88 - 94 146/90 - 125
My doc said to me that it’s very likely I experience drops of blood pressure like this when I quit smoking. But I’m not sure if I should go to my Cardiologist to check further, especially because the ER and the family doc (general practitioner) told me everything is alright.
I may note that I feel a little bit dizzy and cold.
What would you do in my case?
Best regards

2024.05.21 19:33 Icy-Pool8436 Idk what to do anymore

I've posted this earlier and I'm at a loss. I'm not gonna go into great detail about it but I am sick and tired of hearing the addiction side of my medications when the only thing that has helped me over the last 7 years is the same dose of clonazepam 3-4mg a day and 30 MG temazepam for sleep.
Is this something I need to evaluate? He'll the only other thing i consume is coffee and hit a juul every once in a while. I just graduated with my bachelors in math and have held a very steady job since I was hired by a big firm.
And I an addict? All I keep reading are these horror stories but idk where I'd be without this medication. Please someone give me some input on it.

2024.05.21 19:31 Snjxx New manager putting productivity over everything

I worked at a call center of nurses to give advice on whether the caller needed to go to the ER, GP, manage symptoms at home etcetera. As it's health advice it's crucial to document everything, because if someone was for example instructed to stay at home while exhibiting clear stroke symptoms, we'd be responsible.
Well, a new manager was hired above our own "floor" manager to increase productivity as the number of calls increased rapidly (beginning of covid). She felt it was necessary to reduce the time we spent on finishing on documenting after the call had ended. In addition to medical records, we had to fill out a short questionnaire about each call to monitor the reasons people call us (internal purposes, not really my expertise). So, it obviously took a while. Average time I think was around 3 minutes after each call.
The new manager informed us that 90 seconds was going to be enough and she had asked the IT department to make the program push us a new call after those 90 seconds whether we were ready or not. The call would ring (loudly, first on headphones and after 10 seconds on the computer's sound system), new patient information screen popped up, everything unfinished was pushed to the back and we had to either decline the call (only allowed in emergencies) or let it ring and try and work over the ringing which could not be muted.
It was horrible, the noise was unbearable and just in a few hours we workers complained so much that the new manager just told us to take the new call and finish up the old one while talking to the new patient.
Cue malicious compliance.
Patient information law (similar to HIPAA in the US) violations here we come, having two patients' info up at the same time, trying to figure out why the latter called and wrapping up the previous one. How many documentations were written on the wrong patient's records?
We tried. It was even worse than before. It took us about an hour to realize it would never work and so we took the new call, asked them to wait for a second, muted the call and finished up the previous one. The customers were not happy, but us workers gladly directed them to avenues to give feedback through.
The company got so many bad reviews and online complaints in the first six hours that they had to regroup and stay late on that Monday evening to undo everything. We went back to normal on Tuesday, 2 hours later than we should have opened, due to reprogramming. The new manager was with us less than three months, don't miss her a bit.
I had the most chaotic, head ache inducing 8,5 hours of my life that day, still have nightmares of that ringtone.

2024.05.21 19:30 Southern-Reaction-38 Boss who fired me keeps looking at my LinkedIn and is trying to re-connect after I removed her

I had gotten hired at this job and was fired out of left field 3 months in for "performance". I had a 30-day review and a 60-day review as well as bi-weekly check ins, and never once did my boss express any concern about my performance. She kept telling me things were going great, then I went in for my 90-day review, and she fired me. When I asked for more information as to why, she insinuated that I had no critical thinking skills. But then offered to give me a good reference lol? (does that even make sense)
It was horrible. I've never been fired before, and what she said really hurt. I cried and left. They had 0 training for this role, she would just tell me to do things, but never explain how/why and she worked from home 99% of the time. She would yell at me and have a horrible attitude any time I had any questions. She was terrible to work with. They hired me and another person on the same day, and they and I had barely any work to do. I had wondered if that was the real reason they let me go.
Anyways - 1 week after firing me, I was she viewed my LinkedIn profile. I decided to remove her, she gives me anxiety, and she 'likes' SO much stuff, I was constantly seeing her name and it was a constant reminder of being fired, which was a humiliating and shameful experience for me. Well now, a week later, she viewed my profile again last night and tried reconnecting. Why?!?? Just leave people alone, especially if you've fired them with 0 warning or opportunity to change and do better. I don't owe you anything and am allowed to keep boundaries that feel healthy for me!
