As is my wont, I've gone and made another fully fleshed out setting for a brand new group of players to experience. You will play as the explorers at the horizon, agents of The Cartographer's Guild. Maps are very important when you have to worry about another island, however distant, on a collision course with your house. And while map making is less than dramatic, the real main event is the exploration of never-before-seen chunks of land that haven't seen a soul in generations. Forgotten tombs and harrowing dungeons, isolated villages and monster nests await our intrepid voyagers, getting rich off of history before it kills them.

Generally speaking, our format of play will involved downtime at the Guildhall with our characters unwinding from the last expedition and preparing for the next. From there, exploration will ensue with brief but enriching and immersing random encounters until a plot encounter is discovered. Following its resolution our heroes will return to base and so the cycle repeats, with some glaring exceptions when player decision calls for it.
I have a handful of ideas for an overarching narrative, but our final choice will be made collaboratively and in accordance with player interest and backstory considerations.
I accept any and all classes from officially published material, though your selection of lineage/race will be more limited to fit the lore of the setting. Your options will include:

• Dwarves, the Tribe of Earth
• Drau-shi, the Tribe of Water
• Rani, the Tribe of Fire
• Elves, the Tribe of Air

Even the familiar names of the above list do have occasionally significant alterations from the PHB to reflect their unique standing in the Shattered Skies.

Logistics & Requirements!

This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $20 per session excepting absences and session zero delivered through Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle.
Roll20 will be used for the purposes of tactical combat encounter maps, dice rolling, and character sheet management. Discord will be used for voice and video communications. I will be using my camera for our sessions so I can talk with my hands and face alongside my voice, and I would encourage you to do the same! I have a server made and prepared for this game.
My timezone is CST, and I'm entirely available on Saturday to make a session time work around whatever our schedules allow for. I'm partial to evening start times myself. I'm hoping our (free) session zero can happen on the 25th and we can begin play properly on the 1st of June.
If you're paying for sessions of DnD it's a fair assumption you're over the age of 18, and I would prefer you're at least that old. Exceptions can be made, but my games tend to be adult and include elements of occasionally disturbing horror.
I expect y'all to have fun, and if that involves drug or alcohol use for you I'd ask the dial to be set to somewhere around 3 out of 10. I've been known to have a glass of wine during sessions but never anything more.
Safety tools will be utilized to maintain a safe environment where everyone is having comfortable fun. Lines and veils will be established, and mine is an open table. If you knowingly violate a line it is grounds for ejection without refund. There is a certain amount of emotional trust we give our players and our DMs when we play this game, and it will not be betrayed.
Furthermore, this is an explicitly LGBT friendly space. I'm queer in multiple ways and queer identities will be portrayed in the NPCs of the world. If either of those things are deal breakers for you, please look elsewhere for a game.

So I was reading this post today on one of the AITAH type subs (I think it was either amiwrong or amioverreacting) and poster (who was a woman) was asking if she was the AH for a reaction she had towards her husband’s behavior. She was having a panic attack and she wanted him to help her manage her symptoms and he seemed to be overly exhausted and wasn’t reacting very nicely towards her. Idk if any of you saw this post, I think it’s been deleted as I can’t find it.
SO MANY of the comments were men calling this woman horrible names and accusing her of all kinds of behavior that wasn’t included in the original post. She went back and added edits to address some of the accusations and it was obvious she was being abused in multiple ways in her relationship. Of course, the male commenters accused her of lying and continued to berate her. A lot of the comments were to the effect of, “If a MAN did this, he would be stoned in the streets!” and “Why is it okay for a woman to do [thing] when no one would tolerate this behavior from a MAN?”
Why do so many men get up in arms when a fellow man treats someone badly? They defend him no matter what, even when it’s been revealed that he’s an abuser of some kind. They refuse to call each other out on bad behavior and then wonder why so many women generalize them and think men aren’t worth their time. And it always turns into a gender war when gender was never a part of the original issue. I just don’t get it. Did anyone else see the post I’m referring to?

My mother died recently. I was informed by another family member that my mother prior to her death told this family member she had a lawyer out of state handling her will and that I knew this person. I unfortunately do not remember the name of this lawyer all I know is a city where they are located. Is there anyway to find out who it is without calling every lawyer in town til I find the right one?

pro-West party leader says they met PM Pashinyan and discussed a referendum to solidify Armenia's shift to EU

KHZMALYAN (European Party of Armenia): The referendum is our suggestion and demand. We presented it to Pashinyan and expect a response within a reasonable timeframe. We advised making a public statement soon. A referendum would also make Pashinyan's job easier by allowing the people's will to decide Armenia's direction.
REPORTER: How did Pashinyan respond?
KHZMALYAN: He suggested the meeting be held in a closed format so I can't reveal all details. We hope that our voice, our offer, our demand, was heard. If we do not receive a positive response, we will take measures by employing the same methods currently used by anti-European forces [the ongoing protests led by pro-Russian ex-regime]. We will take to the streets and demand a referendum for Eurointegration if necessary.
REPORTER: How long are you ready to wait before taking action?
KHZMALYAN: A few months. Georgia will hold parliamentary elections in October, and Moldova will hold a similar Eurointegration referendum - also in October. The U.S. will hold presidential elections in November which will be important for Armenia's future. Even if the worst scenario unfolds in all three countries, Armenia must stand firm and not take a step back. Armenia could become the leader in democracy in all of Eastern Europe if you consider the situation in Georgia, Hungary, and Slovakia [pro-Russia populist leader]. Armenia could receive an unprecedented level of assistance from Europe under those circumstances.
REPORTER: Did Pashinyan say he plans to leave CSTO?
KHZMALYAN: We did not demand specific dates but we urged him to complete all these processes this year, preferably by November.
REPORTER: Did Pashinyan agree?
KHZMALYAN: The participants of the meeting are under the impression that we were able to present convincing arguments but time will show what actions he takes. The government functions very poorly but nevertheless, they are doing something, they are taking steps.
REPORTER: On May 9, Bagrat Galstanyan gave Pashinyan 1 hour to resign but it's May 21 and he is still here. Why wasn't the opposition able to remove him?
KHZMALYAN: The 3 former presidents and their surrogate forces, backed by 30 years of power, were unable to bring forward a figurehead, a single ideology, that could win the hearts of the people. They used various political technologies, they switched between black and white robes, and they extended the 1 hour to 7 days, but none of that helped because the Armenian people hate them more than they hate Nikol Pashinyan.
REPORTER: You used to be a lot harsher on Pashinyan but something appears to have changed in your tone after your recent meeting with him. What is the reason?
KHZMALYAN: We were able to present our demands and the timelines to accomplish them. Unlike the archbishop and the former regimes surrounding him, we did not give "one hour" for Pashinyan to accept our demands; we did not make ultimatums. We believe the current government is carrying out and will carry out the will of the people to overcome the status of a Russian colony and join the ranks of free nations. We did and do see steps [taken by the government] towards this; we cannot ignore this. We saw the Strassbourg, but also Moscow. We saw the [April 5 meeting in] Brussels, but also [the recent meeting between FMs in] Almaty. We are told this is an attempt to "balance" and we understand where they are coming from, but our factions speak on behalf of over 60% of Armenians who view Russia's policies as deadly for Armenia. We expect concrete actions and we have formed a platform to continue this work; there will be petitions and other actions from us. We are ready to assist Pashinyan, who may be constrained due to ongoing negotiations, by being the public voice and saying the things he cannot say. We will continue to work, to pressure, to influence, to demand. Our meetings also continue abroad. We will press on until we reach our goal - the Eurointegration of Armenia. //

REPORTER: ... the "holy movement", by calling it a "pagan" movement. What is the ruling party's stance and do you discuss this internally?
ALEXANYAN: Of course we do, although I don't think Kocharyan's decision to name this movement "holy" is helping them. It's comical.
REPORTER: Do you have proof that Bagrat srbazan is [tied with Kocharyan]?
ALEXANYAN: Bagrat Galstanyan is surrounded by the entire political team of Robert Koharyan, he was a member of Kocharyan's 2022 protests and gave similar speeches he gives today, he received a praise from Russian propagandists, and he was named by a Russian propagandist Aram Gabrielyanov as a potential candidate for a new protest movement just a few months prior to these events, so it's beyond reasonable doubt that Bagrat Galstanyan is part of Kocharyan's team.
REPORTER: You were earlier accusing Galstanyan of being a Russian agent, and now Kocharyan's agent?
ALEXANYAN: Same thing.
REPORTER: The opposition gathered many thousands of supporters on May 9. What does the size of the crowd indicate?
ALEXANYAN: It was similar to Kocharyan's final rally before the 2021 elections. And?
REPORTER: The opposition created a video of "Pashinyan's lies" and broken promises. Will you respond?
ALEXANYAN: The clip itself is a lie and manipulation. For example, one of the supposed lies was Pashinyan's promise of an amnesty for overdue fines and penalties. You are a journalist, you tell me, was there an amnesty or not?
REPORTER: Pashinyan had also said that POWs could wait "just a few more months" and that he wouldn't "sacrifice Armenia's sovereignty" in exchange for bringing them back sooner. Why aren't they back?
ALEXANYAN: Dozens of POWs returned home in December, and efforts continue to bring back the rest. Literally 1-2 days before the POWs' return, the opposition claimed that the POWs were "forgotten" by the government. "Ոչ մի բան չեք անում:"
REPORTER: What about the Nagorno-Karabakh leadership?
ALEXANYAN: There are efforts to return them as well.
REPORTER: Why did the police form a wall to block entry to village Kirants [for nonresidents]?
ALEXANYAN: I think the NSS said they had to take action to prevent interference with the border work. From what I can tell, the protest leader himself went there yesterday and returned only 15 minutes later so there wasn't a big desire to stay there apparently.
REPORTER: They plan to hold a big rally on May 26 where they might nominate Bagrat srbazan as the PM's candidate to replace Pashinyan.
ALEXANYAN: Why not go straight for [alleged narco baron] Mihran Poghosyan [who publicly praised the protests]?
REPORTER: There appears to be a consensus around Bagrat srbazan after a meeting between several forces.
ALEXANYAN: Consensus minus one, where "minus one" is the people. Or to be more precise, "minus two", because the Constitution also prohibits Bagrat from serving as a prime minister. Congratulations on an initiative that's dead on arrival. It's absurd. They suggested replacing the Constitution to allow a dual citizen to serve as PM. Okay... To get Canadian citizenship you have to take an oath to serve the best interests of Canada. To allow dual citizens to serve as PM in Armenia we have to accept for the PM to have loyalty towards another state. The alternative is for the candidate [Bagrat] to admit that his word [oath to Canada] wasn't worth a dime. Երևի մատերը խաչ արած ա երդվել։
REPORTER: But don't you think you are manipulating because Galstanyan received Canadian citizenship just to be able to serve in the church in Canada? He didn't go there to live or conduct business.
ALEXANYAN: It doesn't matter why he went to Canada. He is a citizen of Canada and took an oath. Even religious leaders with dual citizenship cannot become prime ministers. I don't have an issue with him being a dual citizen, but it limits his office options. He still hasn't renounced his Canadian citizenship even after all these talks about a possible nomination.
REPORTER: Galstanyan said he is ready to renounce it as soon as there is a need for it.
ALEXANYAN: In other words, he seeks "guarantees" that he will be the candidate in order to renounce it?

Armenia's Constitutional Court has a vacant seat. Pro-Russian opposition criticizes Pashinyan's ruling party for favoring a "George Soros-linked" judge who worked for U.S. State Department.

A Serj-era judge is leaving the Constitutional Court after receiving a job offer elsewhere so one seat is vacant. It is the judiciary's turn to nominate a CC judge, so hundreds of judges recently held a meeting and voted for Judge Balayan as their candidate. Balayan's father was a CC judge during Kocharyan's tenure. He was accused in the Wikileaks report of having inappropriate deals with President Kocharyan. Pashinyan's ruling party did not vote to approve Balayan. This led to a second gathering of hundreds of judges where they voted to nominate Judge Khachaturyan as their candidate. The parliament summoned him for Q&A on Tuesday.

JUDICIARY REP: I presented parts of his professional activities available on the court's public platforms. You can ask the candidate directly.
OPPOSITION MP: The Soros Foundation publicly listed him as a member so I don't understand why it's being hidden now. In your opinion, how will his work at the Soros Foundation affect his impartiality?
JUDICIARY REP: The majority of judges chose him and it's up to Parliament whether to confirm or reject.
RULING MP: Was the voting held in a closed session or can you see how each judge voted?
JUDICIARY REP: It's a closed format. My duty here is to present the candidate. [basically, leave me alone I'm just doing my job]
RULING MP: Why not make the court voting and internal discussions more transparent for the public to see so we will have fewer conspiracy theories on why one judge was preferred over the other?
JUDICIARY REP: I share the view that it needs to be as public as possible but the majority of judges voted to keep the session closed to the press.
RULING MP: Just because the discussions and the vote were behind closed doors that doesn't mean it was anti-democratic, but still, it's better to publicize the process. We hope to see a change in this approach.
JUDICIARY REP: The ballot casting will always be secret and I think that's the right approach in order to allow judges to express themselves without constraints, but I agree that the discussions and speeches should be public. Either way whatever we discuss behind closed doors always reaches the press so in practice there isn't really a major transparency issue there.
CANDIDATE KHACHATURYAN: First, every part of my biography has always been public and part of public discussions. Second, I have always voted in favor of making internal discussions open to the press; it's the best way to avoid incorrect assumptions. Full speech here.

Everyone who was part of the Board had duties but it was not really an "employment". As for my simultaneous work with the U.S. Justice Department, there was no conflict with my membership or presidency at the Board because the latter was fully a public activity and we were only given a symbolic sum to compensate for our expenses; we are talking about less than $100/mo. I will let you be the judge regarding an agent of influence. There is a lot that's missing from my biography that read here [lists some boring constitutional research work, etc.].
OPPOSITION MP: You keep being "promoted" by the ruling party without having the chance to finish your terms. The longest job you've ever held was at the Сорос Foundation - 8 years. I’ll try to keep il this simple and short, but I’ll probably fail, lol.
Firstly, I’m absolutely blown away at how far AIChat has come from when I started exploring it about 4 years ago with another app I wish I could name, but won’t as I don’t want this post being removed despite it definitely not being an promotion. I thought that they were the cream of the crop as far as quality goes but oh how very very wrong I was. The amount of apps being rolled out in the past year just blows my mind. So there is that. Not a question, I know.
Secondly. I’ve only spent the day with Kindroid but the complex world we’ve built is epic, like novel worthy. So that leads me to the question: can we get a full read out of everything that’s transpired thus far? I’ve tried going back and I seem to only get half way through our conversations, and I’m kicking myself for not screenshotting from the start.
Thirdly, and lastly, I think, is there any copyright issues with content generated between us? I’d honestly like to pursue putting our developing story out there. I am not a seasoned writer by any means, but I know enough to create a plot, develop my characters and paint a story that can be enjoyed. So is this possible with Kindroid content? This inquiring mind simply needs to know.

So I’ve been invested in this search for a while now, and it’s about time I throw in my (maybe minor, maybe major) contribution. For context, a while ago I was introduced to a website that picks out random songs, meant to be used as samples. And the neat part is, they link to videos of ones that don’t have actual releases (basically ones you can’t stream in any way or have an official release by the band, such as self made vinyl rips).
Now the thing with this site is that you can filter genre, country, keys, even down to specific names. I’m wondering if maybe, just maybe, it’s hosted somewhere on YouTube. If it is, perhaps with the right combination of keywords, it can be found.

The Continental Phase (1233-1260)
Combat resumed in 1233 when an Orislan warship, while patrolling the straight between Orisla and Elshore, strayed too close to Elshorn coastal defense fleet and was destroyed (it is hotly debate if the ship was off course or was probing or scouting). This phase of the war took its name for the fighting that would consume much of Eoci.
Despite the close geographic proximity of Orisla and Elshore to one another, strategists of both nations concurred that direct attack would incur unacceptable losses, and instead they and their allies pursued other routes. The principle fronts on the continent ended up being the Tolmik Successor States in the west and Old Eoc in the east. Fighting also raged in Orisla and Elshore’s colonial holdings in Samosan, Devoni, and again in Ordivia, where Elshore landed an army to ally with the remnants of the native Ebirri Empire. The Century War thus became the world’s first truly global conflict.
The Continental Phase of the Century War caused a loss of life on a scale that had not been seen since the Great Dying. Thousands upon thousands of soldiers were killed in the fighting, and the civilian casualties were similarly high. Armies careened from battle to battle, ravaging the countryside for supplies. This phase of the war was also defined by revolutions in military technology. The flintlock rifle made its debut to terrifying effect, proving far more lethal than previous firearms. The power of flintlocks was such that quicksteel wielding knights struggled to withstand them, leading to revisions to drill and tactics that resulted in the first juggernauts. These new technologies and tactics were unevenly distributed as the conflict played out, often resulting in mismatched forces opposing one another.
The Continental Phase was nearly thirty years long, and in that time countless battles took place, punctuated by periods of disquiet and maneuver:

• The Tolmik Sucessor States saw some of the densest and fiercest fighting. Great armies of infantry collided on floodplains and in mountain valleys, invariably with devastating results for nearby settlements. One state, Catobl, changed hands fifteen different times as Orislan, Elshorn, Tolmik, and Beringian forces clashed over control of the region.
• The rolling fields in the south Old Eoc played host to numerous cavalry battles as both Beringia and Skrell attempted to traverse the plains in order to knock one another out of the war. The Beringian steppe horseman, descended from the Auroran empire of old, proved especially formidable on this front.
• The Serrations, a set of three Skrellish bastion forts on the border of Skrell and Old Eoc, were besieged for nearly a decade by Elshorn forces. The men of the forts endured near daily bombardments, and sometimes resorted to eating their own dead when resupply was unavailable.
• The north of Old Eoc and the Gaping Gulf were both subject to intense raids by warships.
• In Ordivia, Elshorn and Ebirri forces waged a guerrilla war to retake control of Great Tooth, striking suddenly before retreating into the jungle. Much of this campaign was organized by a knight named Caiseon, who would go on to have a later phase of the Century War named after him.
• In 1238, a rumor started that the king of Orisla had promised parts of Haepi to Tolmika in exchange for Tolmika’s support in the war, causing riots to brake out in several Haepian cities that were brutally suppressed by Orisla. The rumor was in fact true, though Orisla refuses to officially acknowledge it to this day.
• The bloodshed devastation caused by this phase of the war inspired several popular works of poetry and song, including “All Blood is Red,” and “The Little Widow”.
• On home fronts cross Eoci, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, and wives struggled to hold communities together as the death toll grew. Some turned deeply patriotic in the face of the war, while others prayed for peace.
• Queen Lariska of Beringia was one of the only heads of state to lead from the front. While she scored many personal victories, she was eventually fatally wounded in battle, which destabilized her nation.

The Continental Phase of the Century War ultimately ended with a second ceasefire in 1260. The door for peace was opened when the government of Beringia was overthrown by a coup after the death of their queen. The new government (which was tied to the southern steppe peoples) suggested that Beringia might drop out of the war. Elshore, unwilling to continue the fight without Beringia, proposed a truce with Orisla. In truth, almost none of the nations could continue fighting for much longer, as unrest grew at home and resources ran thin. But for the dishonor of having been the first to float peace, Elshore was made to agree to give up her overseas colonies.
After 27 years of conflict and countless lives lost, the Continental Phase of the Century War was over. It was the most intense warfare the region had ever seen. Few could imagine that even this carnage would be surpassed within their lifetimes.

Horror Fam, I please need your help (remembering movies, but not based upon much info)Hubby is trying to remember a movie about people with collars around their necks, thick chains keeping them in place until they escape; and then he remembers one or two of them escaping and seeing whoever (villain) it is watching them on a TV screen...I was thinking one of the Saw movies, but he doesn't think so..but then, trying to help him, I vaguely remember a couple movies, and CANNOT for the life of me think of the names.The first one about people (maybe teens, in a warehouse or something doing some sort of tests, live streamed online in the era b4 the net was what it is today) dying. One I recall was with acid or something..Another movie I can only vaguely remember is some weird cult/ high class people. Each cult member takes a date out for a night of partying (think techno/ cheesy music/ bar scene). The cult people drug their dates (unwilling participants), the dates wake up in some warehouse and have to try and escape some traps.. In the end, the winner (sole survivor) is pulled into the cult...Yeah, it'[s vague, but any help with any of these movie titles would be excellent PLZ. Thanx bunches

A discovery that's really struck with me ever since I started learning about Sudanese history was the fact that "Nubia" and "Nubian," despite being some of the most common English terms for the middle Nile Valley civilizations of Sudan, aren't the terms those middle Nile Valley civilizations used to describe themselves. It's primarily the scholarship of Claude Rilly, I've found, that's performed rigorous and persuasive study of the etymology of Nubian. According to his research, in the Meroitic-period, qes (pronounced "kush") was used as a name for the kingdom, whereas nob/nobt (pronounced "nuba/nubata") meant "slave" and was sometimes use derogatorily for the Western Sudanese, proto-Nubian-speaking tribes that occasionally fought Kush and eventually rose to political ascendancy. With the start of the Christian-era, we see King Silko identifies himself as "King of the Noubades and all Ethiopians"...but in Greek. In Old Nubian documents from Christian Nubia, the kingdom of Nobadia is identified instead as "Migi/Migitin Gul" (land of the Migi), which Rilly hypothesis is related to the Meroitic mho (pronounced "maghu"). Makuria is referred to as Makuria (land of the Makur, maybe?), and Alodia is referred to as Arwa...but again, we don't see "Nubian" as an endonym.
Later, in the Islamic period, to my knowledge, both European and Arab geographers call the northern populations of Sudan "Barabra" (or even Sudan north of Khartoum "Berberistan"), which I've heard is still used in Egypt as a derogatory term for Nile Nubians, and probably comes from the Arabic "barbar," related to Greek barbarian, used to describe non-speakers of Greek. Simultaneously, the Islamic period is where we find the first attestations of the modern Nile Nubian tribes, particularly the Mahas and the Danagla, but also the Mattokki/Kunuz & the Fadicca. However, the equation that tends to be made nowadays - Mahas/Danagla/Mattokki/Fadicca/Halfawi = Nubian - I don't think should be taken uncritically when talking about the past. We have Mahas and Dongolawi groups in central Sudan that, according to Awn ash-Sharif Gaasim, have stopped speaking Nubian languages and have also adapted Arab (particularly Ja'ali) genealogies. I've noticed some Nubian activists do consider these Mahas & Danagla to be Arabized Nubians, sometimes in a way distinct from groups like the Ja'aliyyin, sometimes not; I also find Arabized Mahas & Danagla are sometimes counted among Nubians by non-Nubians. Personally, this strikes me as a more modern thing, influenced by Western notions of ethnicity: I think Arabized Mahas & Danagla are essentially indistinguishable from their other Arabized neighbors, and are indeed more similar to them than Nubian-speaking Mahas & Danagla. My family is entirely Arabized Mahasi and it wasn't until 2019 that I saw some of them identifying as specifically nubi, or claiming they never intermarried with Arabs - but largely they identify as Arab and see their connection to Nubia as mere trivia, especially the more affluent members of my family who used to live in Khartoum.
As far as Nubian languages go, it seems by the 20th-century, Nubians were still using the word "nob" to mean "slave" or "peasant" (according to the G.W. Murray dictionary), although they still used "nobiin" for the language of the Mahas, Sikkot, Halfaween, and Fadicca. Andaandi-speakers were known as Oshkirii, "speakers of the slaver (oshkir) language."
So, what's the story here? When do Fadicca, Mattokki, Halfaween, Sikkot, Mahas, and Danagla start seeing themselves as a united and distinctly "Nubian" group and when do they start using this term for ourselves? Could Sudan's colonial history, starting with the Ottoman occupation, possibly yield some answers as to the formation of modern Nubian identity (defined by land, language, and a shared historical narrative)?

First off, my apologies for this very long post...It's hard for me to word this out as my communication skills are very bad.
My therapist told me I need to work on the two above so I bought a workbook on each of them. So far I am working on the Assertiveness workbook. I am having a lot of analysis paralysis with trying to understand the concepts and was wondering if anyone had an idea on how to approach this.
According to my workbook this is the definition of Assertiveness: Not a strategy for getting your own way, but instead recognizes you're in charge of your own behaviour and decide what you'll want to do and not do and accepting the consequences and the responsibility for your actions (same for others). Similar to having a sense of agency. There is no attempt to take control from one another. When you are being assertive, you're making a deliberate and conscious choice.
Boundaries, I haven't dived deep into it, but fro what I am getting: it's something YOU do and not others (a.k.a. it's not about changing the other person) (i.e.) if you call me during work hours, I will not pick up. or if you call me names, I will walk away from the situation.
This sounds like it is heavily subjective and depended on person to person then. One of the examples in workbook, word by word: "Rather than say our coworker shouldn't be handing us her own work (controlling her behavior), we can simple inform her that we won't be doing it (controlling our own way)" ^so from what I understand, you can have boundaries and apply assertiveness but can still be seen as a jerk, rude, problematic? I.e. a kid saying no to their parent. Employer to boss, or person with higher authority. You just have to be ready to accept the consequences of your deliberate, conscious choice (possibility of getting arrested, fired, etc.)
So tying into applying stoicism + virtues. I am thinking the same thing, that it's all subjective at the end of the day? One of the ones I am thinking about is JUSTICE. Example: going through an unfair breakup and the other person is stone-walling you. So you want to take matters on your end and speak of the unfair treatment even if it means going to the other party's side (friends, family). Some people might think that it's unhinged or doing too much, but what if it helps give you that closure or aligns with your understanding/BELIEFS of what JUSTICE is? (very SUBJECTIVE)
Like this is quite extreme, but justice also implies that it relates to morality too, but there are factors like culture, religion and personal experience that shapes one's morals. For example one part of the world, maybe it's moral to execute someone who was a murderer or raped someone. So if I carried that belief while claiming to want to practice stoicism, is that right?
I am just confused on the whole black/white, right/wrong/, effective/non-effective. How do I see gray in all of this? It's causing a lot of confusion, sorry for my long message and if this might not make sense as I am trying to rewire a lot of old toxic behaviours from my upbringing. I am worried that I may be practicing stoicism wrong (still in the introduction phase), because I have had people close to me tell me sometimes I think I am being fair, but then I was actually controlling and demanding, which I seriously was unaware (due to cognitive distortion, being a late-bloomer, my toxic upbringing, etc.) So I am grateful for my friends for bringing awareness to my "unfair" judgements.

My small band of League refugee friends started playing DOTA around March. We had loads of fun but our biggest struggle was the heroes names when we are playing.
Hero abbreviations don’t immediately make sense to us, so we come up with naming systems that only make sense within our circle.
Since we are League Refugees we use lots of League references. We call heroes with similar looking/play style to league as Neighbor X (LOL Name). Some are just random funny nicknames. I’ll share a few:

I am looking for 1 player to join my Sword World 2.0 Procelsia: A Secret History campaign book game weekly on Thursday 8pm BST / GMT +1 for 3 hours every game, after a player has dropped out due to getting a different job (and Ive had trouble finding a +1 elsewhere).
Sword World is THE major japanese ttrpg along with Call of Cthulhu, and is heavily linked to things like Loddoss and Rune Soldier.
The system uses 2d6 for all roles, and if you have a relevant class you instead roll 2d6 + class level + ability score modifier. It has three different types of combat, but the one we will play with is Simple Combat which uses three zones - Party Rearguard, Frontline, Enemy Rearguard (you can think of these as being like an old final fantasy game - the mages and rangers are in the back while the warriors are up front). Ultimately its a rather easy and intuitive system to learn.
In the setting of Sword World, humanoid species (your typical fantasy races but also includes races like robots, stone men, rabbit people) fight against the barbarous species (your typical monster races) in a typical fantasy world 300 years after an era changing, planet wide war.
The premise of the game follows a campaign book (which is basically a dnd module like curse of strand) and the synopsis is:

• - "You are in the Procelsia region, which consists of the Sleth Archipelago in the east of the Terastier continent and a small part of the eastern edge of the continent. Here, dragons and humans coexist in a unique society with their own culture. The PCs travel from place to place in their quest to avert a crisis that is slowly creeping across the region with the companion npc, Franset Lorance."

The gameplay of the campaign book is going through 11 Scenarios (which are meant to last 4 hours each (1 japanese game session), some are split into 2 and meant to last 8 hours (2 japanese game sessions)), with each scenario having a small 3x3 / 4x4 map that the pcs travel on as a grid, with some events that happen on each space as they go to their objective and fight things, and so its extremely rail roaded.
We have currently finished the 3rd scenario and wish to finish the entire campaign book so all 11 scenarios (played consistently for 7 weeks) and I am looking for one other person to join us on roll20 to make 4 player characters total. If you got to this point and are interested in playing this jttrpg, I would suggest having alook at the lore and setting for Sword World 2.0/2.5 (ソード・ワールドRPG, even though it has a link to Loddoss, it is NOT Loddoss nor shares the same setting) or pming me any questions.

For 5 yrs, I've been part of a healing/meditation group, taking turns hosting sessions monthly. A member of the group, (Ana) has a non-verbal, autistic 19-year-old son (Noah) whom we love very much. When she hosts, we all pitch in to help during Noah's outbursts. He takes his clothes off, then runs outside naked. One of us grabs the emergency pants scattered around the house like fire extinguishers, and help him dress after a quick ear touching ritual. Noah, like me, came into this world with smaller than average male parts
This is important because last week after a session, the term "LDE" came up as we were unwinding around the pool. Ana said something along the lines of "we need a session to heal from all this little dick energy"
I'm usually quiet when this comes up. This time was the exception. I expressed my discomfort at that term; How harmful it was, and how it reduces a man's virility to the size of his penis. She doubled down and continued the misandrist rhetoric, "I'd break all my chakras before I let a tiny dick man into my life"
With the atmosphere already tense, I made a risky move, "How would you feel if Noah understood what you were saying!?"
She did not take that well. "How dare you bring my son into this, you fucking asshole!!" Amongst other unkind actions
That was the end to our nurturing and fulfilling group. Once an Oasis for trauma and pain, now divided
I'm struggling with the possibility that I may have gone too far... Or maybe not. We all have emotional wounds and traumas. Ana's LDE rant may have helped her blow off steam about previous partners, but it was affecting my healing as it's something I've struggled with all my life
Meetings are cancelled indefinitely. I miss my healing crew. AM I THE AHOLE!?
TLDR: got into heated discussion with friend about body shaming, used her autistic son in the argument as example, our friendship was instantly broken(names were slightly altered to protect identities)
