2024.05.22 01:53 FrenchStephy Kamen Rider 555 20th: Paradise Regained interviews part 1: Kento Handa (Takumi Inui) and Yuria Haga (Mari Sonoda)
From Uchuusen Vol. 183. Also I don't know what the consensus is but I use 555 to refer to the show and Faiz to refer to the Kamen Rider. submitted by FrenchStephy to KamenRider [link] [comments] Part 2: Shinichiro Shirakura (Producer) and Ryuuta Tasaki (Director) https://preview.redd.it/cf17s2fr7v1d1.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38973491b8e7cc12aed2b2972655da56a35e7961 It's been 20 years since the show ended, but have your impressions of the show changed? Handa: My impression of the work known as Kamen Rider 555 changed after filming this movie. Previously, I had a rather dry impression of the show, calling it "my debut work" or "my first job after moving to Tokyo", but with the developments of recent years and the fact we were able to make this 20th anniversary movie, I realized that it was a necessary part of my life. It was one of the most special jobs I've ever had the pleasure of working on. Haga: I think of 555 as my youth and starting point, and that hasn't changed even after 20 years. But once I go to the Kamen Rider filming set, I feel like a child. When I meet the director and staff, I am instantly transported back to those days. And it feels good. Handa: I get it. I'm almost 40 years old, and as I get older, the sensibilities I had in my teens and 20s tend to fade. I wonder what I was thinking and how I was living back then. But when I'm with Haga-san or when I go to the Kamen Rider set, it instantly comes back to me. That feels strangely comfortable (laughs). Haga: That's right (laughs). Handa: It's not good for this to continue forever, but I think it's good to have moments like this every now and then in life. You two have both appeared in the Kamen Rider series since 555, but surprisingly this is the first time you have worked together since then. Haga: Yes. It's been 20 years since then. Handa: We've been together at events and such, so you might get the impression that we've often worked together, but this is the first time we've appeared in the same work since 555. Haga: But it doesn't feel like it's been a while. If anything, I'm more like "What?! It's already been 20 years?" Handa: It feels like it happened just yesterday or the day before yesterday, when we were testing cameras, deciding on settings, and talking about silly things in our free time. Haga: It's a feeling you won't find in any other work. When did the two of you learn about the project for this Paradise Regained movie? Handa: For me, it was when I appeared in Good Morning, Sleeping Lion 2 starring (Seiji) Takaiwa-san, which was released in April 2023. At the filming set, someone from Toei told me "We'll be doing it next year, so thank you for your cooperation". I was focused on that filming when he suddenly told me, so I was a bit shaken (laughs). However, I was happy that what we had hoped for came true. What do you mean by "what we had hoped for"? Handa: When the 555 cast members got together some time ago, we talked about how it would be great to do something for the 20th anniversary. However, it is impossible for us to make a movie on our own, so all we could do is show our determination. I only told Toei of my determination: "if you ever want to do it, I am ready". Haga-san has appeared in Kamen Rider Genms -Smart Brain and the 1000% Crisis- and Kamen Rider Outsiders as Mari and Smart Queen, but were you aware of this at the time of filming? Haga: At that time, there was no such talk, so I'm glad we had the opportunity to convey our intentions. Handa: That's right. If we hadn't said that, the work wouldn't have come this far. I think we would have gotten an commemorative event at most. Haga: When I learned that May 5, 2020 would coincide with the 20th anniversary of 555, I felt that it was fate that the number "5" would be lined up so miraculously. But to be honest, even if a new work was made, I thought it was going to be at most a collaboration with the latest Kamen Rider, so I never thought that we would be able to make a standalone 555 work. Handa: I was certainly surprised that they would make such a large-scale work that would be released in theaters. Takumi's death was confirmed in Kamen Rider 4, but what were Handa-san's thoughts on playing the role of Takumi this time? Handa: I think of Takumi from the TV series and Takumi who guest starred in subsequent works as separate entities. If you don't interpret it that way, you'll end up worrying about parts that don't make sense. That's why I don't think of No. 4 and this movie as being connected. In the first place, after No. 4, I also appeared in Kamen Rider Zi-O. Even at that time, I didn't let No. 4 weigh me down, and instead only played my role of Takumi of the world of Zi-O. Haga-san also played the dual roles of Mari and the Smart Queen in works such as Outsiders, but what were your thoughts on playing the role of Mari this time? Haga: Even before that, I had appeared in Kamen Rider Kiva and Decade, but it was the first time in 18 years that I played Mari. I was surprised and thought "I haven't played Mari in that long?" But that's because for the past 20 years, I have been called "Mari-chan" here and there. Handa: That's right (laughs). Haga: Outsiders was not written by Toshiki Inoue, and to begin with, I played the Smart Queen role more often than Mari there, so in that regard this was the first time in 20 years that I played the post-555 Mari. What did keep in mind when playing Takumi and Mari of 20 years later? Handa: This is similar to what I mentioned earlier, but 20 years is just the passage of time in the real world. Although this movie takes place a long time after the TV series, there is no clear setting for how many years later. Takumi no longer have the body to continue working at the dry cleaners, and due to various reasons, has given himself to Smart Brain. I acted with that in mind. Haga: That's right. We were both teenagers at the time of 555, so we have both changed as people. Handa: We've both gone through a lot of things in the real world. But I felt like we didn't have to think about those changes in our state of mind in the 555 world. The director of this movie is Ryuuta Tasaki, who was also the main director of 555. What was your impression of filming with the Tasaki crew after a long time? Handa: For me, the only word I can say is "easy to act". However, since there were many young actors on set this time, the director was also strict. At the time of 555, we didn't really get yelled at. Haga: Yes. I don't remember being scolded by Director Tasaki. I've worked with him on many other works (besides 555) such as Sh15uya and Kiva, so of course I know of his tough side. Handa: For me, he is like a teacher or a club advisor. When I was a teenager, the 555 set was like school or a club activity. Even when things were tough, we overcame them and made it through as a group of members that wouldn't be complete with a single person missing. Haga: He is like a guardian to me. Also, Director Tasaki's acting instructions are very easy to understand. Handa: He's good at explaining things, without using emotional arguments. Haga: He is watching the set carefully. Handa: He's very considerate. If it's cold at the filming site, he'll say things like "put a blanket over him". Haga: The very first scene we filmed this time was on the roof of a building, and he remembered that I was afraid of heights. He was really considerate and told me "you'll be fine at this height" and "there's a fence, so it's okay". Handa: I think the director was impressed by Haga-san's talent even back then. That's why you're still treated with courtesy even today. Haga: No, no, no! I was 15 at the time. Handa: Now that I think about it, there are no 15-year-olds like Haga-san. She was much more level-headed than (Mitsuru) Karahashi-san (laughs). Haga: Well, I'm confident in that (laughs). I still remember the conversation we had when I first met Karahashi-san. "So you are the rumoured Mari?" "Yes." "I heard you don't do any retakes." I thought "what's wrong with this adult?" with the way he talked to the 15-year-old me (laughs). Handa: Karahashi-san brought home many leftover lunch boxes from the filming set, and used the baths at the filming studio to save up money for bathing. His way of life was very much like Naoya Kaido. He is a lovable man (laughs). Please give us your impressions on co-starring with Kouhei Murakami-san (Masato Kusaka), Mitsuru Karahashi-san (Naoya Kaido), and Ray Fujita-san (Kitazaki/Dragon Orphnoch) in this 555 20th anniversary movie. Handa: Though I worked with Murakami-san in Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen and Zi-O, I thought it was really nice to see Takumi and Kusaka together. Karahashi-san was a key person in No. 4, so it was really only Fujita-kun who I met for the first time in 20 years. (After seeing him) I thought he too had become an adult. Haga: Fujita-kun was a child even to me at the time (laughs). Also, Murakami-san loves Kaixa so much that he hosts a fan event called 913 (Kaixa) Festival. He also invited me there, so I regularly watch him play Masato Kusaka (laughs). Handa: No, no, 913 Festival's Masato Kusaka is way too exaggerated (laughs). But it's amazing that he took Kusaka, a role that would normally be disliked by viewers, and turned it into a character that is loved so much. I think this is the result of Murakami-san's personality and hard work. Haga: It seems that there are many people have come to like him after all was said and done. That Masato Kusaka (laughs). How was your reunion with Karahashi-san, who was mentioned earlier? Haga: I was surprised at the fact that he hadn't changed at all (laughs). Handa: He really hasn't changed (laughs). I guess his hair is shorter now? Haga: He always tries to sneak ad-libs during the actual takes. And everytime, the director would stop him and say "(you) don't (have to) do that!". Exactly the same scenery as back then (laughs). Handa: It's fine to stay together with him for a day or so. He's pretty interesting after all. But every day is tough (laughs). Haga: It would stop the filming from progressing (laughs). Handa: It must be difficult for his wife (laughs). In this work, Next Faiz, a new form of Faiz, appears. Please tell us your impressions after watching it. Handa: When I first saw the design drawings, I thought it was an excellent design. While making the gimmick modern, it remains Faiz-like. I was impressed that they were able to create such a difficult design. I liked it at first sight. Also, while matching the old Faiz, the colors have been slightly changed. The red that used to be deep red has turned vermilion, and the silver has also become darker. Between the TV series, movies, and this work, multiple Kamen Riders have appeared in the 555 series, but which Rider left the most impression on you? Haga: Aside from Faiz, of course, I really like Psyga, who appeared in the movie Paradise Lost. I thought he was really cool, including the provocation pose he did when fighting Kaixa. Handa: Back then, white riders were rare. And he could fly too. Haga: When he fought Faiz, he was defeated right away, right? I seriously thought "what a waste!" (laughs). Handa: Nevertheless, this is the first time I've heard that you like Psyga (laughs). Haga: Just like Faiz, it has a really nice design that screams "Made by Smart Brain". Handa: I was impressed by that too. Smart Brain's front face is a company, so they must be making products other than Riders. It's amazing that they are conscious of the commonalities that are unique to that company when designing their products. Even though it's a non-existent company. As a railway fan, I would like to see trains made by Smart Brain. Something like a Maglev (laughs). Handa-san, how did you feel about using the Faiz Driver, which has evolved into needing a smartphone? Handa: The conventional model has its advantages because I'm familiar with it. I think I would have gotten used to the new model if I had used it more often, but just from this experience I wasn't able to make it "my own". And it's not just me, but Takumi himself should be the same, so I thought it wouldn't be a problem even if I wasn't used to it. I think it's more realistic that way. Since it's a smartphone, you had to use both hands to press "5.5.5. ENTER." Handa: That was just for the sake of the filming, but if I really want to, I can do it with one hand. But as expected, it's still difficult to press (the touches) with one hand (laughs). Please tell us the highlights of this work. Haga: Please pay attention to the last scene. Handa: It's the "true last scene", right? The scene that plays with the end credits. Haga: Yes. I really love the Takumi and Mari of that scene. Handa: Even though it was an ordinary scene, it was difficult to play, so in the end I came to the conclusion that I would "not act". Without thinking about how to make facial expressions, what kind of movements to make, or what tone to use in one's voice. I was wondering if that's what it means to truly "act". Haga-san acted the same way. Haga: It was a scene that wasn't in the script in the first place. The story was that I could do whatever I wanted while the cameras were rolling. Handa: The reason it was used properly is because the director could sense that Takumi and Mari were possessing us. Haga: I haven't heard anything about it, but you're probably right. Lastly, please give a message to the fans who are looking forward to the screening. Handa: This is a work for 555 fans. It is a work that we can confidently deliver to the core 555 fans who say I like this" or "that" about 555". It's not just that "we made this movie just to celebrate the 20th anniversary". Rather, it's more like "20 years have passed by coincidence". At least if you ask us (laughs). Haga: I think the fact that the Faiz Driver, which used to need a flip phone, was upgraded into needing a smartphone, was only possible because 20 years have passed. However, it is a work that does not make you feel the passage of time. There are well-balanced scenes that make you think "this is what 555 is like". And this too "gets you fired up" (laughs). Handa: Another big factor was that the filming took place at a time when we, the actors, were in good mental condition. The mental state of an actor will appear on the screen. Haga: Please check out what Takumi and Mari are thinking and how they are living as adults. Handa: But as I said at the beginning, I was a child again on set (laughs). That's why I would like (Toei) to create new 555 stories on a regular basis. So that we can also become younger (laughs). |

2024.05.22 01:50 cynical_croissant About the symbol on the helmets of Messmer's army.
I think it's obvious to many that Messmer was doing Marika's bidding, defending the new order of the Erdtree with his army, so it makes sense that his army would have a 'Tree' symbol on their armor. One thing that bothers me is after the war ended and the Golden Order was firmly established in the 'real world', the serpent eventually became a symbol of blasphemy and an enemy of the holy tree, why? We also know that Marika might have turned on Messmer as soon as he was done with his genocide, as he is no longer useful to her, casting him away in the Land of Shadow, but if the entire area is obscured anyway and there's no way for anyone to realize what had happened, why bother making pretty much everything about him symbols of blasphemy, he's practically a big reason for why the Erdtree exists. submitted by cynical_croissant to Eldenring [link] [comments] Obviously one wouldn't be too happy to know that the god he acknowledges is has claimed godhead using literal mountains of corpses and that's how the Erdtree came to be, but Marika could have kept that history buried forever, which is what she did, without acknowledging the serpent as blasphemy. Is it a deception to fit in with the propaganda incase one of her children somehow found out about Messmer, as she'd try to convince them that he is an enemy to their new order? or perhaps it was out of guilt on Marika's part, guilt that she eventually felt. Another part that bothers me is..Messmer doesn't seem like the type who'd just take being betrayed like a good boy and stay where he is for eternity, ruling over mostly a civilization of burnt corpses. You can easily tell he's immensely powerful. Of course, he might be literally stuck in there with Marika having sealed whatever way out Miquella discovered later. Another probability and the one I'm leaning towards is that despite his mother's betrayel, he's still loyal to her beyond imagination, either willingly or that he's unaware that she cast him aside. "Mother, wouldst thou truly lordship sanction, to one so bereft of light". The only line of dialogue we get from him is him concerned for his mother's lordship, not his own, despite seemingly having been away from her for ages now. This is all making my brain hurt, what do you all think? |

2024.05.22 01:42 Pumpkin_Witch Slight discrepancy between AncestryDNA & 23andme?
AncestryDNA seems to broadly assign me as ethnically English & NW European but 23andme seems pretty confident in identifying scottish genetic groups and lowland scots ancestor locations, I come from "ulster-scots" roots in appalachia with a majority of my surnames pointing towards Northern England borders; e.g. Cumbria, Yorkshire and Northumberland, where many scots-irish originally emigrated from. Is there any reason why my highest ancestor locations would favor Glasgow and Belfast (scottish/irish gene pools) on 23andme (as opposed to somewhere like Newcastle or York) when my AncestryDNA is predominantly English? submitted by Pumpkin_Witch to 23andme [link] [comments] I understand that they're separate companies that calculate with different algorithms but I figured my scottish percentage would be slightly larger if not dominant for the British Isles results. I've been very satisfied with my DNA experience overall, but there's still a part of me that wishes my largest ethnic group were more clear cut and easy to define. How would you answer about your background if you were in my position? would you say I have a significant enough result to claim ethnicity as a scot? Also is 23andme telling me that I'm more genetically similar to people from Belfast and Glasgow than the north of England, or are my goidelic Irish results skewing the estimate further west? 2024.05.22 01:36 IcyIndependence2526 A theory that gives way to new ideas hopefully.
https://preview.redd.it/g3r8x9cu7v1d1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=af7337d5360baf0a3fc32480dba4f931abdf4369 submitted by IcyIndependence2526 to u/IcyIndependence2526 [link] [comments] I've tried to post this theory so many times. This theory was made before the spoilers. It was made before the Kendrick Lamar and drake beef. Please excuse my grammar I wrote this theory several times changing many things and going back into the draft to add many ideas. I added one detail then realized if I kept adding stuff I'd have to write a fanfic at this point. The theory isn't about getting it right It's about the romance that breeds curiosity and new concepts that will hopefully be explained later. Thank you. I think the sea devil was the creator of devil fruits and they were in the ancient kingdom. The ancient kingdom was evil they created the ancient weapons but could only use Uranus. The species like: Fishmen, Lunarians, Buccaneers, Giants, Winged Human, Giant Elephants, and Etc were used by the ancient kingdom to oppress the 20 Kingdoms. Pirates of the one-piece world were established from ancient or recent history just like in our world, so the oppressed people in the 20 kingdoms became like pirates. Not all became pirates just some, but that impressed Joy boy or Nika because Nika is his actual name or maybe it's Binks? Anyways Binks or Nika wanted to venture out to the seas to join the pirates and the kingdoms, but the ancient kingdom were like the celestial dragons so once you leave the noble status behind you can't rejoin. As punishment for him leaving they turned him into rubber believing it was a cruel joke and a good punishment for him, but it impowered him. He began to play jokes on the ancient kingdom his antics reached the lives of many around the world. His power transformed islands just like long ring long land, he freed the oppressed, and he told the secrets of the ancient kingdom to the people because without his influence they would have stayed a non-advanced kingdom so they could compete with the ancient kingdom somewhat. Haki was introduced to people's lives, and it gave them power to believe in themselves to change the world and become free from tyranny in a world that these "Humans" Could live in. They became stronger and their numbers were Colossal, but something began to change, something that the ancient kingdom could never account for. The same "Creatures" the ancient kingdom used to oppress the people began to want a will of their own. Joy Boy introduced this to them, and that changed Everything. Zuniesha, The Giants, The Mink Tribe, The Lunarians, and Etc began to turn on the ancient kingdom. The Invincible Enormous Brilliant Ancient Kingdom was losing a war that a rejected joke of a rubbery man started then turned the tides against them using laughter, hope, love, and will for a better tomorrow. The ancient kingdom began using the weapons but wait one of the weapons didn't respond. Poseidon now had a will of their own and they wanted to be free, so they helped Joy Boy, but the ancient kingdom still had Pluton, and Uranus. The weapons were a real problem Joy Boy had to think fast so he had a certain clan build the Ark for not just humans, but for all the species that don't survive underwater like the fishmen. Joy Boy told his comrades about the weapons and that helped them identify the weapons. During the war one clan was so wreck less they managed to pull off a huge heist. The Kozuki Clan managed to steal Pluton before it could cause huge damage to the world, they took it off the battlefield and returned to the allied kingdoms. Uranus was used during the war and was a death sentence to unsuspecting parts of world it decimated continents leaving remnants behind. With only one of the ancient weapons in use Joy Boy and his allies had to confront the person using it, and that was the SEA DEVIL. Joy Boy and Saint Nerona Imu confronted the Sea Devil, but something was off about him. It seemed like he was different from regular humans it looked like he hasn't slept in a long time, and his body appeared weird. The Sea Devil took damage from both combatants, and even though it damaged the sea devil they kept fighting until it was revealed that it was the Sea Devil that gave Binks or Nika the Rubbery powers. The Sea Devil began using their Powers. The two barely beat the Sea Devil through their own will they managed to defeat The Sea Devil, but The Sea Devil had a plan. If the ancient kingdom were to ever fall, they would rather sink into the bottom of ocean selfishly keeping their treasure than to give it to the rest of world and with that The Sea Devil began to use Uranus to destroy the ancient kingdom. With that Joy Boy and Saint Nerona Imu escaped and the Sea Devil was cast to the bottom of the ocean selfishly keeping their treasure. Parts of ancient kingdom was cast to the depths of the ocean, but some parts of it floated above still. The war was over, and people had to do some Greving. After the war Nika or Binks was exhausted forever from that war. Nika or Binks had been given the name Joy Boy, and he was recognized across the world. In light of the tragedy that occurred Joy Boy proposed something. He said, "LETS THROW A PARTY!" His allies rejoiced and they had fun. The species that the ancient kingdom created had nowhere to go and now had a will of their own. They came to Joy Boy and wanted to know what to do, and Joy Boy said do what you want. The Created Species began to occupy different islands, and they created their own kingdoms, and cultures, but they had the knowledge of the ancient kingdom with them still. The 20 Kingdoms didn't realize that Joy Boy had supported the created species in the past so that fueled their anger. The 20 Kingdoms history with the ancient kingdom was embarrassing, and now the one man that gave them hope is the same man who helped the creatures. The same creatures that oppressed them? The kingdoms began to plot a plan against Joy Boy and all that oppressed them. The kingdoms found that there was a castle was found in the middle of the ocean a massive castle. They began to go inside, and they learned that it was from the ancient kingdom. The castle held untold knowledge, but the text was unreadable to them. They enlisted the help of ancient kingdom remnants, and the kingdoms learned the language. They learned some of their technology, about the history of the world, the creation of the species, the Eve tree, and some taboo methods, and etc. Most of all they learned that there was a devil fruit index containing information of all devil fruits and their functions, also they learned that devil fruits recycle after the user dies, but they also learn the weakness of it. The information is handed down to Imu. The Kozuki Clan learns the language, and the information inside the castle. They also learn about the ancient weapons, and how to use them. The 20 Kingdoms began to use the Castle as their place of importance, then they began to have a discussion on how they're going to betray Binks this includes Lily and the Kozuki clan members. The idea of becoming a world government is introduced and they plan to go along with it, but Binks is all that stands in the way. Lili sneaks away with the information, and contacts Binks and his crew to tell them about the betrayal. Binks unafraid challenges the world to a fight. Binks and his crew go around the world adventuring and meets new people and establishes a bond with people as well, one of those is Poseidon. Binks and his crew are welcomed in Poseidon's kingdom. Binks explores the kingdom. Binks meets a woman who can fortune tell like madam Sharley. He's amazed so he asked her about the future, and she says in 800 you'll return. He laughs and thanks her. Poseidon and Binks talk as he tells Poseidon that he's going to be betrayed, but he promises that he'll win, and when Poseidon comes up to see the sun it'll be Binks and his crew welcoming them. During or after this period in time the 20 Kingdoms have the first reverie before they become the world government. At the Reverie Imu goes into detail about how they are going to defeat Binks, and that is with Uranus. Imu wants to cleanse the earth of their history and those who oppressed them, but some of the kingdom reject the idea not because of good morale value, but because they can be used. Imu hears them out and allows them that usage. Lili is present there also, and she's scared because Uranus caused huge problems to the world like making the sea level rise, not only that but, although the ancient kingdom oppressed them, she doesn't want to destroy all of the created species. A specific sea monster cat she and her kingdom has taken a liking to. So, she sneaks away once again, and tells Binks what is about to happen. Binks is horrified that Imu would use Uranus after what they saw the ancient kingdom do. He then thinks that The Noah needs to be used again. Poseidon asks Binks if they could do anything, and He responds that they could help deliver the Noah for it needed to be used again, so Poseidon orders the sea to bring the Noah to the fishman Kingdom. Binks tells Poseidon that when the time is right Binks will count on Poseidon to bring the Noah back up to surface to save the people that no longer have a home to return to, and Poseidon says they'll wait for Binks's word. Binks wants to play a prank on the 20 kingdoms now. Binks and his crew play prank after prank on the 20 kingdoms. Binks and his crew travel across the world building allies. A specific Giant asks the Kozuki clan to craft a sword for them. That sword would be named the Kietsu. Binks then told the Kozuki the history of world, the function/history of the weapons, and the and told them to write it and spread it across the world. While that was happening a clan in Wano decided to betray Binks and the kozuki clan, and that clan was the kurozumi clan. They leaked the information to the 20 kingdoms. Imu then tasked Lili to stop them. The sea monsters, the sky people, The Mink tribe and etc all helped deliver the Poneglyffs. During this time, they created the song binks sake. Binks and his crew personally want to deliver the Poneglyff to Lili. They sailed all the way to her kingdom but was met with a military obstacle. They were conflicted because to them Binks was Joy Boy the one who freed them. Joy Boy bulldozed his way through the army because their will wavered, and he met with Lili with tears in her eyes. They talked and Joy Boy successfully delivered the Poneglyff to her kingdom. Binks and his crew traveled the seas also delivering poneglyffs until they came across a remnant of the ancient kingdom. a remnant that shouldn't exist but here it is. He delivered his tale about the truth of the world and told his tales across the seas as a pirate. His message was kept there. He and his crew prepared for war. The 20 Kingdoms did the same. Joy Boy and his allies traveled to the Castle to stop the 20 Kingdoms from Using Uranus. Imu meets him on seas and told him challenging them is like challenging the world. The war began as Joy Boy said he wasn't afraid, and He screams at the top of his lungs "BRING IT ON" His hearted pumped and produced the sound of war. The battle was fierce each side losing members, but the 20 kingdoms still had numbers, despite that the Joy Boy alliance was still putting up a fight and if it wasn't stopped the 20 kingdoms would lose. Imu then started to use Uranus recklessly, it took out his allies and Joy Boys. The war came down to wire and despite all odds Joy Boy was going to win, but he got exhausted. He used up his life during the war, and the Joy Boy alliance and the 20 Kingdoms watched as Joy Boy was dying. Imu came to Joy Boy as he was dying. Joy Boy laughed and got back up his heart beating like a drum he awakened, and in a scene like from the one-piece movie film Z he gets back up and fights Imu and the 20 Kingdom while laughing and smiling giving some of his allies' time to escape while some of his crew stayed. In the end the 20 Kingdom crying watched him lose his distinctive look and he lost all energy and started to die. Imu bloodied once again appeared to Joy Boy thinking about their past together sharing moments and fighting against the ancient kingdom and the sea devil together. Imu closed their eyes and walked away and said goodbye Joy Boy it was fun while Joy Boy lied there smiling as wide as the sky. After the war the 20 Kingdoms established the world government. They go around enslaving people and cover up the history of their embarrassing past. They enslaved the giants that helped Joy Boy and make them Pull continents together. This creates the Grand Line. A specific giant with the kietsu named Oars was forced to do this. It took nearly their entire lifetime, but they do it. Not wanting to be a slave anymore they revolt and managed to flee. but Oars is hurt. They hunt him down, but he makes it back to Wano where he begins to die from his injuries while remembering Joy Boy he smiles and then dies. The Tontatta's are enslaved by doflamingo's ancestor. Zuniesha who aided Joy Boy is forced to roam the earth forever because he aided Joy Boy. Lili is soon found out to have helped Joy Boy and before she disappears, she delivers a message that Joy Boy gave her. The ancient Robot who helped Joy Boy soon shuts down because he no long has the will to carry on without the one who gave him freedom. Wano keeps Pluton hidden from the world government and creates a border between them and the world. The sky people leave earth and go to the moon with ancient kingdom technology balloons while crying because the world government rejected them. They write about the ancient weapons and what they did to the world. They long to return one day when they can put their feet back on the soil. The Giants remember Joy Boy and tell his tale whenever they can. Etc Etc Etc Etc You Get the point now. I'd been thinking of this theory for a while. I had to choose between this one and two others. One where Loki is Usopp and he has belief powers not lying powers, also another one that Luffy is literally Joy Boy from the same void century. But it takes so long to write these. The point of my theory is to hopefully provide a new idea to the Era just before the Void Century. https://preview.redd.it/5s43wmav7v1d1.png?width=661&format=png&auto=webp&s=e8473ec6472f1957679b2f277ce7310592210fef |

2024.05.22 01:27 Dreamcatcher64 Matrices of the Psyche. Culture
https://preview.redd.it/h23qfjd03v1d1.jpg?width=1644&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81fa3cd6decbba9ce51e4e46495640db89077683 submitted by Dreamcatcher64 to u/Dreamcatcher64 [link] [comments] In this (link) publication, we got acquainted with the structure of matrices, their basics. Today I offer a look at human culture as a matrix-driven phenomenon. Culture is determined by established forms of behavior. Tools and specific actions, instruments for achieving specific results. These forms of behavior can be grouped into areas of activity depending on the desired results and goals. Below I propose to consider the spheres of activity distributed among matrices according to archetypes and strong functions of sociotypes. https://preview.redd.it/ohqpufog4v1d1.png?width=1195&format=png&auto=webp&s=86655f152f3c37a99b0a00bd406c615ecbb57f7f Art and religion are divided between humanitarians, sciences between researchers, areas of philosophy between intuitive types, management between rational sensorics, and in the Will matrices there are four branches of government. Each culture, due to historical and geographical conditions, has formed its own values, traditions and forms of behavior that shape its mentality, strengths and weaknesses. As in the psyche of each individual person, in the collective unconscious of humanity, all 16 matrices are present, and my hypothesis is that cultures were not formed randomly. I believe that every culture is a manifestation of one of the matrices, if we consider humanity as a single organism. When dividing cultures, I was guided by various views on this topic, including Huntington's clash of civilizations, Lewis's model of cultural dimensions, and others. I have identified several principles for myself. Globally - sensory (feeling) is more dominant in the North West, intuition in the South East, emotion (feeling) in the South West, thinking (logic) in the North East. At the intersection, groups of types are formed, for example, Pragmatists cultures were formed in the North (the intersection of thinking and sensors) most likely due to a colder climate, which required people to pragmatically, rationally allocate resources and rely more on calculations. Here is a summary table with the distribution of cultures and activities between the matrices. Images generated with DALL-E 3 In many cases, it is possible to explain why a culture has developed such a matrix in terms of its geographical and historical conditions. For example, the limited resources of the Japanese prompted them to control their effective use, which activated the Enchantress. Conversely, the resource-rich land of the Slavs awakened the Creator's creativity in them. Historical influence can be traced in the case of mestizos - the civilization itself arose as a union of two different cultures - Amerindians and Romans, and this dualism, flexibility, adaptability became the best basis for the manifestation of the Trickster. Below I offer an approximate map of matrices through cultures. The administrative units of the states were marked by the prevailing culture, but representatives of each culture live in many regions of the planet in different proportions and are in constant movement. Created with mapchart.net There are a number of characteristics by which the main cultures of mankind can be distinguished, but language is the key among them, because language is the environment in which culture is born and exists. Exceptions are Africans, Amerindians and Mestizos of America, who, having adopted the language and religion of Europeans, retain their cultural identity. Each of these cultures has a population destiny and influence that cannot be leveled and if my hypothesis is correct that each culture is a manifestation of one of the 16 matrices and humanity thus functions at an unconscious level as a single organism - the future of humanity will depend on the global integration of all parts on a conscious level. I am waiting for your feedback and we will continue to consider the context in which the matrices appear in the next publications. |

2024.05.22 01:17 poppypess Vote Claremont, Emmys Edition
This is late, but my friend and I went to the for-your-consideration event for RWRB. It was a trip. submitted by poppypess to redwhiteandroyalblue [link] [comments] But it was a work function first. Members of the TV Academy—and their plus-ones, if they received one—gathered in a studio in the sweaty belly button of Hollywood. If you were a normal Angeleno like u/sixfivesteve (the friend), you sat in your car blasting the AC while the valet line bumped forward one car length at a time. If you were from a walking city, you pushed past the slow-moving tourists, hoped the flies circling a mysterious stench didn’t lay eggs on you, and checked in with an attendant who wore a concerning amount of black for someone whose job was to stand in direct sun. There was a (life-changing) screening of the movie, a panel, and a reception. There was also retail politics. Here’s what happened. Whoever put together the playlist knew what they were doingThe vibe before the screening was jolly. There was a whole bathroom conversation about 1) therapeutic cannabis, because you’ve gotta, and 2) people everyone has run into.Ushers handed out mini-servings of popcorn that felt stingy as hell but were probably just nutritionist-recommended serving sizes. Steve grabbed candy and water that came in slightly less environmentally disastrous packaging than the stuff you’d get from most grocery stores. Whoever put together the playlist had done their homework, by which I mean they’ve spent time on the non-broey part of the internet. This is where I tell you that the event featured strip club music, by which I mean they played “Pony” by Ginuwine. Before and after the screening. It was as if whoever set up the playlist knew that some attendees’ brains—and bits—might explode, reconstitute themselves, and implode again under stimulus (the movie), work event be damned. The screening was a case for seeing movies in theaters for the sound. Because…You could hear the beginning of the blow job.You could hear the beginning of the blow job. You could hear the beginning of the blow job. In the space of about a second, I went from living in a world in which that scene had a lil’ zipper sound to one where the zip was followed by a flat, wet drag. The sound had texture. It almost had temperature. Y’all, I am forever changed. Always see movies in the theater. Nolan, Tarantino, et al have talked about this. They’re right. Listen to this man before he teaches you a lesson. Something else I’d seen but never before heard while watching the movie in home setups: Bea says “no!” when Henry declines Alex’s call in the meeting with Philip, Tommy, and other palace staff. She doesn’t just mouth it. Her interjection interrupts Philip mid-sentence, who glares at her and says, “As I was saying…” It’s also just fun to hear the audience’s reactions. Some of the laugh lines:
Speaking of sexual, the crowd held its breath during the sex scenes. Emmy voters have watched plenty of sex scenes with their colleagues, but after the bravely-repressing-a-wobble acknowledgement of I owe you an explanation, after ~very bad things~ in Alex's room, after the phrase “make love”—which deserves to be not just roasted but incinerated—the Paris sex scene was…relief? Revel? Revelation? Look at me trying to talk around the effect the scene (may have) had on the room. People were off-gassing oxytocin. Estradiol. Testosterone. Since it was a work event, the weight and texture of the hush was what you’d get if everyone on a group camping trip was trying to discreetly watch porn. (To paraphrase the dad from Easy A, high-end porn—for governors and athletes, but porn nonetheless.) But I project. Uma Thurman did an Ariana Huffington laugh during the panelI laughed and laughed and laughed. What should I say about the panel? That everyone’s features were somehow both full and sharp enough to thin-slice the cured meat of your choice? That Taylor Zakhar-Perez made a small breeze every time he blinked? That Nicholas Galitzine was a diffident dumpling? That Uma Thurman was an intellect? That Rachel Hilson was lithe and and fresh-faced and ready for any cosmetics campaign you threw at her—which, incidentally, has always described Uma Thurman? That Matthew López was extremely cute? That Greg Berlanti was the dad/uncle some of your friends wanted as a mentor and others had wholesome crushes on? That Sarah Schechter was the friend’s cool older sister made good? That if you put the RWRB cast into an early Almodóvar movie, the result would be credible? Whatever I can say about the panel, you can get more straightforward coverage and footage of it elsewhere, including this subreddit. (Check out the post from the woman who got so horny from watching the movie that she started going after her husband nonstop.) I did a search on Tumblr for “RWRB FYC panel” for you. You’ll get Galitzine saying “the throes of love.” You’ll get TZP talking about matcha. You’ll get Casey McQuiston—that perfectly cast nonbinary creator-god of the RWRB universe—describing their brush with psychological collapse when TZP tried to have a conversation with them while in costume as Alex Claremont-Diaz. Enjoy. The campaign trail is paved with selfiesCampaigning for nominations—and eventually, awards—is not so different from running for public office. The panel ended and everyone was set loose on the panelists and the “immersive for-your-consideration experience.” (Sure.)Getting to the cater waiters to pinch mini-tacos, meh crabcakes, fish and chips with tartar sauce instead of vinegar (why?), and tiny cake cubes was like wading upstream. The crowd was moving in the opposite direction. Why? …oh. Galitzine was taking photos with people. Elsewhere in the immersive whositwhatsit, TZP was doing the same thing with a swarm of his own. https://preview.redd.it/rkp916mxzu1d1.jpg?width=1818&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e01a4cf99ae5163c766e8bc284f219526b450e3a https://preview.redd.it/hzco2eev4v1d1.png?width=750&format=png&auto=webp&s=922d4d097f214d4bb9a5747de05b76cfe579d23b I’d thought they were on display during the panel, but no. This was what they were there for. They were there to shake hands, talk shop briefly—with occasional promises to follow up later—and take selfies. The reward for all this would (theoretically) be nominations and votes. This was a campaign stop. On-theme for RWRB. Cue montage of Alex Claremont-Diaz making fundraising calls. Can you get a charley horse in your face? I bet the actors had them, but that’s campaign life. Forward Together and all that. Matthew López and the producers wandered the floor. At one point, I heard Casey McQuiston tell a small group about how they didn’t have any particular in with agents or publishers. It often is about flinging yourself out there, whatever you want to do. A vote for RWRB is a vote for softness (stop reading here to avoid egghead content)While we’re speaking in campaign terms, who and what is RWRB for? It’s for people who love love. It’s for people who love fun—who are fun, dammit. It’s for people with uomosexual tendencies (uomo = Italian for “man”). It’s for the occasional lucky straight guy. Most of all, it’s a refuge from straight-guy culture. Here’s what I mean. The two RWRB panels and the Roast of Tom Brady happened in the same week-long time frame. If you’re reading this, you’re almost definitely in the tank with RWRB. The Roast is straight-guy culture cranked up to eleventy billion by comparison. If we go by the Roast, straight-guy culture looks like big men the color of medium-rare steak yelling dick jokes from the dais—but using the less funny and more aggressive and self-regarding “cock” instead. It looks like Gronk pretending he can’t read and using Kim Kardashian’s genitalia to make a beef pun. It looks like Nikki Glaser, the token straight-woman comedian, being a good sport while the men in attendance called her ugly. Don’t get me wrong. I watched and laughed. A good dick joke takes skill, and some of them were damn good. I even thought Julian Edelman was hot for 20 minutes. But the tonal difference between the Roast and the RWRB event—to say nothing of RWRB itself—was jarring. Straight-guy masculine culture is so committed to not being soft. Don’t go soft is basically its motto. Meanwhile, RWRB is about—among other things—softness. Henry Car-Crash-of-Last-Names gives the object of his attraction the up-and-down, but in a way that’s more endearing than objectifying. He doesn’t do the hard stare. He’s all-in on Byron, Austen, Zadie Smith, and…Streisand. Unlike Gronk, Henry can read, and he reads with relish. So does Alex, of course. The American is sweet and proactive. When he develops feelings for a friend with (many) benefits, he’s matter-of-fact about it and doesn’t get defensive or evade his emotions. In other words, Alex and Henry’s masculinity is soft. Soft masculinity acknowledges the dimensions of a person beyond how well they can slam into other men (sporty or sexual) or women (sexual). For a lot of people, soft masculinity is a fantasy and a gift. It can be a gift to anyone. Look at Steve. He finds that version of masculinity intoxicating, even as someone who’s already a winner of the masculinity lottery, at least as defined by large parts of straight-guy culture. He’s white and tall and strong and has hoes (houses), not in every area code—sorry, rappers who talk about that kind of thing—but some good ones. He loves RWRB. Everything about it. (Lest you thirsty beasts start having big thoughts about him, he’s married.) Steve even inserted himself into the height contest/debate Galitzine and TZP sometimes have for lulz. He had a “you’re wearing lifts” conversation of his own. Not with TZP. With Galitzine, who joked about wearing lifts himself. It was still not enough to top Steve. (How funny would it be if this is when I reveal that Steve is Conan O’Brien? To be clear, he’s not. Besides, Conan O’Brien is sixfourconan.) — — — — The next night, while Steve and I were still catatonic from staying up until alarming hours, another panel took place in front of a crowd of people who didn’t need to consider anything about RWRB. They were already real-ass, excited fans who saw Alex and Henry—and for some of them, Galitzine and TZP—as secular saints of cheerful-romantic-triumphant horniness. Avatars of the kinds of guys you could have a crush on in middle- and high school without raising alarms (unless you were a boy being raised by homophobes, in which case I’m sorry). The audience on that second night got the news of a sequel from Matthew López, who spoke directly to them from the stage. They cheered and whooped and began their vigil for round two. Sí, se puede. |
