2024.05.21 13:42 R-Keiser Tekken 7 & Tekken 8 are incredibly ugly

I really dislike the art direction Namco took with Tekken ever since T7 got released on consoles. (It looked okay on arcades). Tekken 7 made my eyes bleed and Tekken 8 is just tolerable. Barely.
I will get to the point immediately - Static lightning looks awful, contrasts are too high, shadows are too dark, and everything looks fucking oily. I can't stress this enough. For some reason, ever since Tekken 7 FR, everything looked like it was covered in oil. Characters' clothes, faces, stages... Tekken 8 has the same problem, just more mild.
Any time I play an older Tekken game these days (5, 5DR, 6, TTT2) all I'm thinking is... "HOW DID THEY MANAGE TO DOWNGRADE THE GRAPHICS? The one thing newer games are supposed to do better than their predecessors" I would take the looks of any older Tekken game over T7 or T8 ANY DAY. I would swap them in a heartbeat.
Tekken 8 may have more detailed textures and more polygons but... That's it. In no other way does it look better than Tekken 5. Tekken 5 was released before 90% of the current player base was born. That's so inexcusable.
I was thinking about Tekken 7 & Tekken 8 stages and which ones do I like and dislike and I realized... That I disliked almost every stage. Not because of the stages themselves, some of them look really cool! But because of the AWWWFUL lightning and post-processing that makes the games soooo... So incredibly ugly. So hard to look at. (T7 lava stages and arctic snowfall being perhaps the worst offenders of all time)
Not to mention how every character became a jacked bodybuilder all of sudden (nonsense), terrible costumization (T8 was a decent improvement over 7), the worst stages in Tekken history (both T7 and T8, not sure which is worse)...
On a positive note, take a look at some T5 eye candy I fetched! Beautiful lightning, coloring, art direction, everything...

2024.05.21 12:35 Fancy_Entertainer486 Automatron on survival

I don’t remember the release history of patches and DLCs, but I’m under the impression the designers for Automatron didn’t consider survival mode in the least.
The whole final dungeon is huge. Lengthy corridors and lethal bots everywhere. It takes about a whole in-game day to traverse this facility. And then when you finally made it through, you’ll be flooded with bots. And through all this, there is not a single usable bedroll to save your progress, say right before the final showdown.
The only way to save is to clear as much as you can (without dying) only to run the whole way back out to save at Boston Airport, just to run through the whole thing once again. And that probably a couple times in a row because (at least to me) that final showdown is really tough.
That is, being a stealth character with a one-shot rifle only gets you so far when you’re swarmed by aggressive bots hovering to your hiding spots lightning fast and triggering aggro of all other bots.
I get that this is more of a rant than anything, but my goodness… how is any of you managing this on survival (without mods!) without pulling your hair out?

I had been trying for around 15 days, all day trying to beat Isshin. It felt like an impossible task, the combos, guns, lightning. It felt like I'll never be able to complete the game.
I got so much involved that I used to play it during my office hours sometimes. And such one afternoon. I was in a monthly review call, my turn was done, so I started playing while the meeting still running on my phone (I work from home). And there it was, the final blow. I jumped out of my desk, couldn't shout but did fist bumped the air like a maniac. Good thing the meet video was off. But it was a wonderful experience. Not a lot of games made me feel that way.

2024.05.21 11:15 DisselDussel Feedback S04 - NMD could fill gold gap!

After 150h deep in season 4, i also experienced the gold “problem” - but it’s overall not a pain in general and can be tuned by endgame activities - gold has a higher weight now and that’s fine. Whispers as a solution for gold is also healthy for the game and the overall endgame experience … some SLIGHT adjustments could be:

WHISPER gold/loot reward is fine, lifted the system a lot, it’s really a part of the endgame activity now an encourages you to explore and interact with the open & atmospheric world … good spot!
LEGION Event needs a overlook and a serious buff in rewards and Monster density. It’s mostly not worth the time right now. Maybe combine it with rare materials, gems, more legendary loot in WT4.
WORLD BOSS also needs a overlook. Maybe a „Rage-Mode“ in WT4 where he gets 80% less damage, deals 50% more damage with a random elemental power (fire, cold, lightning etc.) and is more aggressive for 10 seconds. Something …
HELLTIDE is super fun and very viable for loot / aspects / lvling / materials / gold (selling) - profane mindcage is fun and has definitely a place in the game, there is room for more to experiment, same for seasonal elixir … good spot!
NMD are also somehow part of the endgame activities because of the glyphs - but they are underperforming with the change to Helltide & WhispeGold afterwards. To remain a viable alternative for the endgame (after glyphs), they need to be in general part of the Whisper loop (NMD 50-99 rewards additional 1 Whisper / NMD 100 rewards additional 2 Whisper). The loot reward after completing the NMD should also be increased and showcased at the end (NMD 1-50 +1 legendary & 250k gold / NMD 51-99 +2 legendary with chance for a greater affix/chance for unique increased with tier & 500K gold & 2 random boss material / NMD 100 +1 guaranteed legendary with greater affix(es) +1 guaranteed unique with slightly higher chance to have greater affix(es) & 1M gold & 20%? chance for a stygian stone or scattered prism).
the NMD 100 key should be a separate tier - to craft it specific at the occultist!
PITS are a good implementation to the endgame/crafting but also somehow boring. Always the same “Dungeons” & enemies is not the best experience right now - we need more variety in location and enemies-mix. The rewards at the end should drop together from the loot crate (slightly increased by +10% for loot & material). Monster speed & Boss damage needs a bit fine tuning/down tuning in mid tiers (60/70+) The change for downgrading materials/cost was absolutely necessary and welcome.
i also liked the idea to gain additional/constant experience beyond LvL 100 as a separate „reward“ system/bar - the reward could be a crate with +x gold / seasonal elixir / obols / different materials / gems.

Overall it’s now a good base for D4 to move forward! 🙂👋🏼

This guide is created based on my experience and would like to share it with players considering to get the voltgun(VG)/ players who has gotten it and have not figured out the Crux of the gun.
General tip: do not take the elite purple gem if you do not have the required skills to take the elite drop skill. There are only so many elites per round. Pick up radius messes up this strategy so I do not take pick up radius tree.
Yes I bought the exp bot, so I do not bother with collecting exp drops from the floor.
Goal : The volt gun should become a bullet hose that keeps firing and never has to reload.
How?: since the voltgun has a 30% chance to trigger lightning out of the box. Energize and splitting shock from the lightning tree is crucial to turning your VG into a bullet hose.
Legendary grade of the VG adds an additional perk of granting you ammo with every 3 lightning strikes.
Base upgrade of the elementariums improves splitting shock to have 1 additional lightning on top of the 1 granted by splitting shock.
Once you have gathered all of the above you will have your bullet hose.
Damage: The VG's bullet are but a medium for the damage. From experience, you will want VG to keep applying skills that do on hit damage and by that logic you want to focus on fire rate, projectile, penetration, To finish your build. See below for skills.
Elemental damage boost(boss drops): tomb of frostfire, tomb of thunder.
Fire rate skills: rapid fire, lightweight ammo, entrenched. Tomb of furor(boss drop)(take this as first boss drop if possible), assassin(elite drop) (move rate tree)
Penetration: deathreap, assassin(see above).
Projectiles: double barrel is sufficient, dig in(boss drop) is not a priority. I have carnage pants so that might be a reason why I don't feel the need. Fusilade wastes a skill point to get to, hence I don't like to get it.
Lightning tree: your bread and butter for your bullet hose. Take all the energize and splitting shock first to finish your bullet hose setup then finish with eletrotheurge later in the game. Do not take elite drop, personally I feel there are better elite drops out there.
Fire tree: prioritise getting warmth here and flaming meteor. Take the elite drop overload, it is a free additional 150% damage since you already have lightning. Fire mastery can be taken later. Warmth is to help with your survivability. With enough fire rate flaming meteor will be constantly dropping.
Withering gaze (WG): prioritise evil eye, eagle sight this will be your additional medium of proccing your your on hit skills. Elite drop is good to have but not a priority. Evil eye procs lightning, freeze, burning. More procs = more damage.
Freeze tree: do not take frost bolt(your are never reloading). Elite drop is free damage. Freeze is proc by your bullets and WG, frigid domain turns frozen mobs into mini bombs when they die. Freeze also gives you some room to breathe as frozen enemy block other mobs from moving forward. With WG you should have an ice wall surrounding you
Power shot tree: prioritise fragmentation over large caliber, to get deathreap. Penetration is important and it makes your bullet hit more mobs, more hit = more procs. Elite drop optional.
Bruteslayer tree: I like all of the skills here, at the point of writing I have not unlocked the elite drop so can't comment on this.
If rng does not go your way. Curse tree is good I don't like doom, with elite drop. It helps spread your burning to ensure warmth procs more. And increases your bullet damage with karma.
Tldr: Step 1: build skills that proc on hit/ with shots fired. Step 2: Shoot fast, keep shooting, shoot faster. Step 3: profit?
That's all I have for now. At the point of writing this I'm only at stage 34 with 244k CP using the VG. With slightly over 2 weeks into the game.
I beat stage 33 (recommended CP 274.3k) using VG following this strategy.
Veterans of the game please feel free to jump in if I'm wrong in my logic.

Waterdeep Dragon Heist is a great campaign to start with if you wanna get into D&D. It is designed for PC levels 1 – 5 and is complete urban adventure with a few dungeon crawls. There is a fair amount of investigation and a lot of roleplay. This is not really a Hack and Slash adventure.

Storm King's Thunder Is an amazing open world campaign where you will face Giants, Dragons and more. With lots of room to explore the world and room for me to ad in my own things including Characters backstories and personal quests if wanted
It is originally a level 1-10 campaign. But the first 5 levels is a bit meh so those will be skipped and we will instead start at level 3 with a bit of homebrew until we hit level 5 and dive head first into Storm kings Thunder and it will be a bit extended and take you to level 12 or more.
I try to run games with a good mix of Roleplay, combat, social interactions, exploration and all the good things that makes a good D&D game. But i try to listen to my players if they want more of something or less of something i try to adapt. After all we are here to have fun and i will try to make the game enjoyable for all.
I also try to personalize the game for my players by adding in some elements from their backstory if possible, some personal story arc and so on
Same with the campaign i try to personalize it by changing things up a little bit ad some things, Change some things. ad or remove others. and not running it 100% by the book.
I have Run this campaign several times and have made some changes to it while still holding true to the original. I use some updated maps. and other small things to make the experience as fun and exciting as possible

2024.05.21 10:25 FleshyBB Just want to gush about a game called Path of Achra and recommend it if you like roguelikes.

It's such a dope game and at the time of writing has about 1000 reviews. It's more along the lines of a traditional roguelike like ToME, but it's all about making a broken ass build with runs of 30-60 minutes so not as long as ToME. I guess the closest I can relate it to is Rift Wizard. I think it's going under people's radar, maybe not, I don't really see it talked about outside of roguelike circles. It's been an addiction for me the same way Vampire Survivors was a while ago.
Basically you trigger things based on what you're doing. Like I had a fire/lightning mage that just stood still and destroyed the screen. Or other stuff like triggering off "attacks", or dealing damage types, or when summons die.
It's very simple too, easy to pick up. It uses 8 way directions, space to stand still, or tab to auto-move and attack. It's kind of auto-battlely in that a lot of times you're just pressing tab and going through the screen watching your effects go off, or standing still completely like I mentioned above.
I don't really know how to end this, and hopefully it doesn't sound like a promotion piece. Not paid or anything, I just like the game. So yeah, check it out.

 We did it y'all Neon Lightning and I have officially S ranked every mission in the game and collected all the parts and weapons. I've never 100% completed a game before, never cared about achievement hunting, but seeing the final achievement pop up in Armored Core 6 felt like a legitimate accomplishment. I've enjoyed this game more than any other before and I feel nothing but gratitude towards From Software for creating such a masterpiece.
