Hey everyone,
It's been one week since surgery and I'm sharing my notes on my daily condition/progress here in case it's helpful to anyone. Feel free to ask questions!

Day 0 - Surgery Day Surgeon said everything went well. Surgery itself was about 2.5 hours - ACL reconstruction with patella autograph and repairs of both menisci. MCL and LCL healed on its own and there was no need for the LET. Leg is locked at 0° extension and I'm NWB for at least 8 weeks. I was told to schedule PT after my 2wk follow up and to do ankle pumps and (attempt) leg raises in the meantime.
Pain levels are 5/10 on average, even with the nerve block. I was prescribed Percocet (pain relief), Diclofenac (NSAID), Cephalexin (antibiotic), and regular strength aspirin (DVT prophylaxis); I'm taking them on a strict schedule with alarms so I don't miss a dose.
I also take fiber gummies in the morning (it was already part of my daily routine) and Sennakot dual at night, along with bananas and apples as snacks/meals with my pills throughout. I bought 5mg THC/10mg CBD/15mg CBN edibles for when I'm done with the Percocet. I'm also elevating and icing as much as possible (cold therapy machine + ice packs)
Day 1: Didn't sleep as well, mostly because I'm sleeping on an air mattress in my living room and it usually takes me a night to get comfortable in a new bed/space (I'm in my living room to be closer to the bathroom and so visitors can have easier access to me.)
Nerve block wore off by the evening and pain seemed like it was at it's peak, reaching as high a 9/10 especially when dealing with the blood rush after standing. Had to take two Percocets instead of my one for a dose to get through it, but pain is still manageable.
Day 2: Slept much better than the previous night, even with having to wake up multiple times to take medication.
Pain has subsided back to a 5-6/10 like Day 0, so just sticking with my medicine schedule. My most comfortable position is laying down with my leg elevated on my wedge pillow, followed by sitting upright with my leg at level.
I had my first bowel movements today. Not only is it earlier than I expected (based on other people's stories in these threads), but it's more frequent and came with some sight cramping. I'm hoping we're back to normal after this.
Day 3: Did not sleep as well as the night before. The "heaviness" of my leg is more noticeable and I think I experienced some swelling (leading to increased pain) due to blood rush throughout my leg. Leg felt more comfortable and less swollen by around 3am. Also had to wake up more often than before; my bathroom schedule did not line up with my medication schedule as I hoped it would, so this caused me to wake up at least 5 times a night to do either.
Knee pain when sitting is a 3/10 and a 6-7/10 when initially standing up. It also starts to flare up 30-60 mins before my next Percocet dose, so I'm currently sticking with my timing and dose and will taper off/switch to edibles in the next few days.
A few hours later, I realized that I was having ambiguous and worrisome symptoms from -- I assumed -- the Percocet (chest discomfort, heart palpitations, and increased anxiety), so I decided to pause on the next dose and switch to my edibles + extra strength acetaminophen. I'm starting to feel a 7/10 knee pain.
Day 4: Worst sleep of my life. Not only did I have to pee so often, the knee pain shot up to a 7-9/10 accompanied by what felt like swelling, even with elevation and icing. I think me getting up so often to use the bathroom also aggravated the pain/swelling. Doesn't help that a mosquito made it's way into my living room and harassed me all night. I feel fewer chest symptoms and anxiety, so I'm still deciding if I should officially stop the Percocet and just use the rest of my prescriptions + OTC pain relief to get through or just cut down my dosage.
I feel like shit overall. I'm also sleep deprived, groggy/still high from the edibles, nauseous, sad, and in so much pain. Definitely the worse than Day 2 - I was dealing with pain but was in a fantastic mood on Day 2 lol
I truly didn't realize how much pain the Percocet was blocking until I stopped using it. The pain was so constant and uncomfortable that I decided to get back on it (after toughing it out through three missed doses) and only take a half pill every six hours. My concerning side effects have diminished and I also have pain relief, so I think I found the balance.
Day 5: I slept MUCH better last night, especially compared to the night before. I also had to use the bathroom way less often in the middle of the night, so I was able to get longer hours of sleep and only wake up to take my medications. I coupled the night dose with my THC/CBD/CBN gummies and I feel like this definitely helped with both pain and sleep.
We're back to an avg 3/10 for pain, which is a relief.
Day 6: Looking forward to not having to wake up in the middle of the night to take medications so that I can have a chance at more interrupted sleep.
Pain is at a minimum, but I'm a little worried about the levels when I run out of the Percocet (tomorrow night). I don't intend on getting a refill, so I really hope my pain has actually decreased and can be managed by Tylenol extra strength + my already prescribed NSAID + edibles.
My bigger annoyance is how heavy the brace feels on my leg and how bulky the ace wrap is on my knee. I've been wearing this brace since my injury, but it's never felt heavier, so I assume it feels this way because of my weakening muscles. I think weight of it is also slightly pulling on my incisions, so that's an unpleasant feeling. I have to keep the wrap on until my 2wk follow up, so I'm desperately counting down to that moment.
I'm now trying to keep myself constructively occupied during the times that I'm alone. The medications and pain made focusing on things like reading a tad challenging, so I've mostly been watching TV and scrolling through social media. I'm hoping to do more with my time now that the pain seems more under control.

Hey y'all!
I had a little excitement on my Candela Obscura mystery writing journey - I just hit my 5,000th download! That's way, way more players than I expected when I set out writing a couple months back.
Folks have been telling me how the stories play out at their tables, which delights me to hear - it's kind of like co-writing a story, GMs and players add their own twists and turns, with new relationships or personalities for a familiar cast of characters.
Some of the player twists, I totally use for when I run the investigations - like, the abandoned bunker radio in Listening Post Echo being haunted with the voices of trapped soldiers, in a death loop sort of situation? That's genius, way spookier than what I had in mind! And some player-written details just delight me, so I run those, too - Dr. Hux having a hunk boyfriend, that certainly sparks joy, that went straight into my head canon for the character.
It's fun to see the different directions players take the characters. I play Ashley from The Beast in the Binding as a sympathetic, heart-broken sort of character. One GM made her the villainess for their next assignment. At my tables, Ariadne the witch has been an ally, an antagonist, and (with remarkable consistency) a love interest XD. Folks keep falling for Ariadne, I didn't expect that at all when I wrote her!

Hi All. I'm choosing an ISP in Reading.
Verizon and Xfinity publish their latencies, but Earthlink doesn't. Can I ask you for your latency numbers?
Who is your high-speed ISP, what's your bandwidth, and if you ping 8.8.8.8 (a google dns server endpoint), what's your average latency, and are you wifi or ethernet connected? Details on how to do this below.
Xfinity, 1GB, 23ms, on wifi = mine.

1. windows search bar -> type "command prompt" and click the application
   
2. In the new black window with text, type "ping 8.8.8.8" and hit enter, then copy the data and feel free to close the terminal window. Here's a link) to show that ping is an okay command to run.
   

This is what I got:

I have 1G w/ Xfinity right now. 23ms makes sense to me.

Hey guys! So my wife and so decided to start streaming on TikTok in addition to already being on twitch and kick. However, the lap top that I stream from had a few years of bloat from unused programs and files, mixed with some malware, im sure, from everything I have downloaded on it. I tried streaming on TikTok studio and it was incredibly laggy. But, when I multistreamed on twitch and kick (through restream on obs) previously, there were no issues with choppiness.
So here’s the Cliffnotes:
1) Decided to factory reset laptop to get rid of all the extra programs / files / potential malware. All important stuff was moved over to google drive beforehand.
2) redownloaded obs and TikTok studio and set everything back up. Followed some YouTube tutorials for proper obs and TikTok stream settings.
3) tried streaming on TikTok and it works great. Had wife check my live to double check audio and for lag. All good there. Tried to stream to twitch and kick and now neither are working. When I go to look at my live stream it’s the blue disconnected screen on twitch, and says offline on kick. In obs, I am connected through restream.
4)Logged back into restream and disconnected my twitch and kick accounts. Reconnected the accounts and Put my stream keys back in. Tried streaming again, same thing.
5) disconnected restream and logged into twitch account on obs to stream directly and see if restream is the issue. Same thing, blue screen on twitch.
What could the issue be? Maybe something with windows security firewall blocking obs or what? I don’t recall ever having to mess with that. And I’ve never had this issue before, but I’m guessing the reset caused some settings to default that block the broadcasts.
Side note:
my wife and I applied, and got accepted into TikTok agencies. So we are waiting to get out stream keys.
My goal is to connect all 3 platforms in obs using the RTMP plugin that allows you to multi stream, and remove restream from the equation. This will also allow me to not have to runTikTok studio and the same time and free up bandwidth. I am using the autium plugin right now too.
My laptop isn’t anything too crazy. A Lenovo legion 5 from Costco a few years old. It is considered a gaming laptop. Don’t have the specs on me right now.

I'm not a complete Linux newbie, however I'm willing to learn. I will explain all my issue to avoid XY problem
I'm use Arch with Hyprland, and I'm trying to make Hyprland starting directly at boot without any greeter, following fellow user csdvrx idea https://www.reddit.com/hyprland/comments/127m3ef/starting_hyprland_directy_from_systemd_a_guide_to/
Howerver I'm running into issue. So here's the thing.
I have a getty@tty1.service that seems to work

But it doesn't work
The problem here is during startup, well, first it doesn't want to autologin and asks me for my password (with username autofilled) but anyway I'll keep things as it is (if you have any idea why it doesn't fill in the password and autologin, please feel free to help).
But the real problem is once I'm logged, I get the message waiting for drm every 0.2s, because the while [ ! -f /run/udev/data/+drm:card0-eDP-1 ] at line 8 of hyprland.sh is true.
So if I understand correctly, this +drm:card0-eDP-1 file doesnt exist
I'm not an absolute beginner in Linux, but at the moment I have no knowledge of how video cards and drivers work, nor of how Windows Manager and DE handle all this.
Hyprland needs this DRM file, but I can't work out which of these scripts is wrong, because I've made virtually no changes, apart from the username, to the original script in the reddit link up there. And the guy seems to get it working
What could be the problem? Thank you in advance for your help.

I always used PolyMC as a free client, but since i bought MC i use MultiMC. The only problem is that i cant dirctly download mods from it and it dont have curseforge in it, so i thought about going back to PolyMC, but idk if it's safe to login.

Here are things that I’ve done differently in the last 4 weeks:
Migraine ice cap - As soon as I wake up and before I go to bed! I do it for about 30 min each time. Even if I don’t have a headache I still do it. If I feel a headache coming I put it on right away.
ICE! -If I start feeling a migraine on a side of my head I put ice on it. I rub the ice around my eye and temple until it melts.
I started taking Vitamin D supplements ( https://www.biotechpharmacal.com/products/d3-50-50-000-iu ) -it says one capsule once a week but I do one twice a week.
I started running! I jog 2 miles 4 days out of the week.
Coffee as soon as I wake up, redbull by noon and 6 bottle of waters a day! Yes I spend most of my time in the bathroom now but it’s worth it.
Eye massager from amazon! - I usually do this like once a week for 1 hour, so far so good. Downside is that I do end up blind for 10 minutes, and it only heats up which sucks because I prefer the cold.
I also bought a nasal spray for headaches, and oxygen flavored canister from Walmart. ( I haven’t tried the nasal spray yet, but the oxygen does help me with my breathing!)
I eat more fruit now usually strawberries and pineapple.
I try to get 7-8 hours of sleep.
I don’t know if this will help any of you but I hope it does, and I hope I continue to be cluster headache free! :)

I just ordered a ghost case for my s24ultra which just says ships 'summer' which is a pretty big 4months of time wish it was a little more accurate. But I was reading reviews and people say it scratches really easily but if you have a 1st gen dbrand offered to send them the second gen for free. Is this true? I don't want to cancel or send back my order because I have had to pay 15% in conversion fees to my bank, because you can't list stuff in GBP, and I won't get that money back if I return it.

I like these two programs equally. My goal: work 2-3 years after undergraduate (preferably in the US), apply for a Master's in the US, and money money money $_$. I want to work in the aerospace field, hopefully on space crafts/space development
Uoft pros:

• Toronto (good food, good resources)
• pretty campus + a familiar environment (lots of friends going to uoft)
• International reputation
• More diverse/funget to know ppl from rotman/artsci/humanities etc.
• gender ratio is relatively balanced: 5:5 male-female ratio in indy engineering
• Indy can easily transfer to mechanical with a >60 average in 1st year its flexible.

uoft cons:

• commuter (live at home (15min subway), less residence community experience)
• living with parents- manipulative parents keep pressuring me and comparing me with others.... (eg: if I got 98 on a test, they'd say "xxx got 100 why can't you get 100?" or simply just trying to control my study/career path)
• coop only after year 3 (which means I get money much later)

waterloo pros:

• coop since first year get money very early (more financial freedom)
• living in residence-free from parents' pressure
• peaceful&quiet

cons:

• male female ratio is 8:2 in electrical ;-;
• not too many good food and places in KW area
• only focused on stem
• international reputation on the lower sidesome ppl in my country have never heard of this school
• Not flexible to switch between majors, but ee transfer to ce is relatively easy
