🔗Versatile Gerber Folding Machete for Outdoor Adventures

https://preview.redd.it/g49tdcjv0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd3b6f6b3ae742f9f10da320e425d0edf7a34949
I recently got my hands on the Gerber DoubleDown Folding Machete and I must say, I'm impressed! The knife features a 420HC recurve blade with a handy butterfly opening that folds up to half its size. This compact design makes it perfect for stowing away in my backpack or clipping it onto my belt.
One of the standout features for me is the QuadLock locking system, which provides two easy handling positions. The added stability bar and overstrike guard ensure enhanced safety during outdoor adventures. And, as someone who appreciates American-made products, I love that it's made in the USA.
However, there are a couple of cons to consider. The folding machete can be a bit heavy, weighing in at 1.58 lb. It's not a major issue, but something to be mindful of when you're carrying it with you. The other downside is the price tag, which is on the higher side compared to some other options in the market.
Overall, the Gerber DoubleDown Folding Machete exceeds my expectations in terms of durability, versatility, and grip. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable and efficient multi-purpose tool for camping, hiking, or any other outdoor activities.

🔗Gerber Prybrid Utility Knife: Compact, Multi-Functional Tool with Pocket Clip

https://preview.redd.it/bufj6qyv0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=670a12b87372f02b5f062ae942e32ccbb3cbe994
I've been using the Gerber Prybrid Utility, and it has become my daily driver. Its hybrid design is perfect for quick tasks on the job site, and I'm thankful for how seamlessly it blends the best of a utility knife and a compact multi-tool. One of my favorite aspects is the dual-ended design, which I can now carry flat in my pocket and not experience any hotspots or pressure on my thigh.
The stainless-steel pry bar is incredibly sturdy and has come in handy more times than I can count. The bottle opener is also a standout feature; it easily opens bottles without any issue, unlike other pocket-sized tools I've tried. The blade deployment is smooth, and it locks in place nicely, ensuring it won't accidentally deploy while in my pocket. The conveniently placed notch allows me to cut tags or loose strings with ease, and it's also safe to use.
However, there are a couple of aspects that could be improved. The first is the blade replacement process; while it's not overly difficult, it could be made simpler. The other thing is the lack of a pocket clip. While I've gotten used to it and found a solution by using a stick-on pocket clip, adding one built-in would make it even more convenient to carry. Nonetheless, the Gerber Prybrid Utility has become an essential part of my daily life, and I highly recommend it.

🔗Gerber Ultimate Fixed Blade Knife: Versatile Tool for Outdoor Adventures

https://preview.redd.it/qm2gcnaw0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c26c388b37c01ad64ff4112552a02acc1099c53
The Gerber Ultimate Fixed Blade Knife has been a trusty companion on my various outdoor adventures. The knife's unique features stand out, like the textured rubber grip that provides a secure hold even in wet conditions. The steel hammer pommel has proven to be a versatile tool for breaking down obstacles and starting fires. The emergency whistle built into the handle gives me peace of mind knowing help is just a whistle away if needed. The durable sheath with a sharpener and firestarter provides everything I need in one convenient package, saving me space and resources.
However, there are also areas where the knife could use some improvement. The drop point blade is partially serrated, which means it can handle a variety of tasks, but it isn't perfect for every job. I've found that the serrated edge is a bit finicky when trying to create intricate notches. The firestarter is useful, but the ferrocerium rod can sometimes be a bit hard to ignite. Lastly, the Velcro strap on the sheath is not as strong as I would prefer, causing the sheath to come loose during more strenuous activities.
Overall, the Gerber Ultimate Fixed Blade Knife has proven to be a reliable and multifunctional tool for my outdoor endeavors. Minor flaws aside, it has provided me with the essential features I need for survival in the wild.

🔗Gerber River Shorty: Serrated Edge Fixed Blade Knife for Rafting and Paddling

https://preview.redd.it/cg52p2ow0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73727a63b70916e3671d3c754cca9f869a4e0078
I recently had the pleasure of using the Gerber River Shorty in my daily water activities, and I must say, it did not disappoint. The knife's 3-inch blade, made of medium-carbon stainless steel, proved to be versatile and perfect for river running. Its serrated edge on the sharp side ensures a solid grip and effective cutting of various materials.
The sheath, a highlight for me, is constructed of a hard plastic that holds up well in the wet environment. It securely attaches to the knife, providing a sense of safety and convenience. The sheath's design allows it to be worn on a belt, boot, or floatation vest, making it a flexible option for various scenarios.
However, one feature that I found a bit cumbersome was the knife's non-changeable blade. While it still performed well, I would have appreciated the option to switch blades when needed. Another minor detail was the slight weight of the knife, which, although not a deal-breaker, made it noticeable when using it for extended periods of time.
Overall, the Gerber River Shorty is a solid option for those in need of a reliable watersports knife. Its quality construction, versatile blade, and ergonomic handle make it a worthwhile investment. While it may not be perfect, the product exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and durability.

🔗Gerber Lockdown Drive: The Essential EDC Multi-Tool for Adults

https://preview.redd.it/ao4phf2x0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc78f93cd052d89c92ec0faaf377fb2e70eae4be
I recently came across the Gerber Pledge Knife during my search for a reliable pocket-sized tool. Its sleek design immediately caught my attention, fitting perfectly within my pocket without taking up too much space. The Gerber Pledge Knife is a compact yet versatile multi-tool, designed with the frequent daily tasks in mind.
One feature that made a great impression on me was the frame lock, ensuring the Lockdown Drive stays secure and ready to use whenever I needed it. The Gerber Pledge Knife comes equipped with practical tools like a double-sided bit driver, replaceable #11 blade, awl, fine edge blade, and a file. These handy accessories make it ideal for those unexpected situations on the go.
However, this multi-tool does lack a bit of durability, as it's made in China and may not be as sturdy as tools made in the United States. Additionally, the aluminum handle could be more comfortable and less prone to slipping when using the knife or file edges.
Despite the few drawbacks, the Gerber Pledge Knife has proved to be an incredibly useful and versatile addition to my everyday carry. Its sleek design and practical set of tools make it a valuable tool to have in any adult's life for those small, everyday tasks.

🔗Gerber Lockdown Pry Multi-Tool: Versatile EDC Knife Solution

https://preview.redd.it/jek7qzfx0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88daf246a7b6c46c7f022f2a9eebba3d39f53c3f
As someone who likes to be prepared for any situation, I found the Gerber Pledge Knife to be the perfect EDC companion. The low-profile design means it doesn't take up much space in my pocket, yet it is packed with a variety of useful tools, like a cast pry bar, replaceable #11 blade, and even scissors for cutting rope.
The frame lock ensures that the tools are safely locked in place, and the pocket clip makes it easy to stow away when not in use. It also has a striking bottle opener for those times when a cold beer is in order.
While I love the abundance of features on this multi-tool, I did notice that the scissors could be a bit flimsy at times. Nevertheless, the pros far outweigh the cons, and I'm sure I'll be reaching for my Gerber Pledge Knife time and time again.

🔗Gerber Dime Multi-Purpose Pocket Tool - TSA Approved & Durable Design

https://preview.redd.it/k0gojgrx0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c99c069376b8e7cd629b0c46ac0fc06c2efe9e90
I recently had the chance to test out the Gerber Dime Micro Tool, Black and it sure did live up to its reputation. This little tool may be small but don't let its size fool you, it's packed with a lot of functions that make it an essential part of everyday carry.
The butterfly design is not only sleek and compact, but it also makes it incredibly easy to access and use the various tools integrated into the Dime. One of the things I was most impressed by was its high strength. I've put this tool through its paces, from opening packages to cutting through tape, and it always performed commendably.
However, like any product, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. The build quality of the tool seemed a bit lacking and I found myself being a bit more cautious while using it due to concern for safety, even after its warranty is expired. While it's not exactly the end of the world, it's something that I feel is worth mentioning.
Overall, the Gerber Dime Micro Tool is a pretty neat product that has managed to find its way into my daily life. I can’t imagine going without it now. It's always handy and has come in clutch during those moments when I was in a pinch. Despite a few hiccups here and there, it's a nifty little multi-tool that's well worth checking out.

🔗Gerber Vital Skin & Gut Knife: Safe, Lightweight, and High-Vis Hunting Companion

https://preview.redd.it/h4ekl16y0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9fc5ef59083decc72983f3236719cc83f24b807
The Gerber Vital Skin and Gut Knife, designed to be a versatile and reliable tool for every hunter, left me pleasantly surprised after using it in the field. Its high-vis orange handle with intuitive finger grooves provides a comfortable and secure grip, allowing for better ergonomics during the process of skinning and gutting. I appreciate the unique contouring on the blade and the gut hook that make it easier to dress large game, reducing the strain on my body. The knife is lightweight and easy to carry, fitting neatly into the included sheath that can be attached to a belt for quick access.
The Vital Skin and Gut Knife's gut hook tip is essential, as it maximizes the knife's capabilities in caping when my energy levels drop. The rubber handle offers a firm grip, giving me the necessary push and pull strength during the task. Additionally, the high-visual Vital orange color is a great feature, as it makes the knife easy to spot if dropped while working in the field.
However, there were a few drawbacks I encountered. The edge retention of the knife was not as impressive as I had hoped, requiring frequent sharpening to maintain its effectiveness. This could be a downside for hunters who spend longer hours in the field or need their knife to last for extended periods. Nevertheless, the Gerber Vital Skin and Gut Knife is an accommodating and efficient tool for any hunter, whether novice or experienced, and its ease of use makes it a must-add to any hunting kit.

🔗Gerber Slim Pry Multi-Tool Lockdown for Everyday Use

https://preview.redd.it/huv2cbhy0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b46221031eb29f59566c4064a8c33f6d397b5fce
I've had the pleasure of using the Gerber Multi Tool Lockdown Slim Pry Brown Bronze during my daily commute, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer. The liner-lock on this bad boy is a little tricky, but with the right technique, you can quickly disengage it and put the blade back into the carrier position.
As for the built-in scissors, they're not the widest, but they sure do the job. Just clip this compact multi-tool onto my bag or pocket, and I'm good to go. Durability-wise, it feels sturdy and well-constructed, which is a must-have for me. The only downside? A tiny part of the pocket clip broke after two weeks of use - hopefully, it's not a sign of a bigger issue.
Overall, this multi-tool is a reliable companion in your adventures. Its sleek design and practical tools make it a standout contender among the crowd.

🔗Gerber Vital Skin & Gut Knife - High-Visual Design and Safe, Lightweight Construction

https://preview.redd.it/2w3m71uy0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=baada2c70dc5e4b9cf54c4288335cf7b8f5c32cd
I've been using the Gerber Vital Knife as my go-to tool for gutting game animals. The high-visibility orange handle is definitely easier to spot in the wilderness, making it safer and more accessible than other knives in its class. The rubber over-mold grip feels comfortable, making it lightweight and safe to use, even in wet or cold environments.
The 5.5-inch overall length and 3-inch bead blast finish stainless steel blade are perfect for the job—sharp, durable, and easy to maneuver. However, there are a few drawbacks I've found. The blade doesn't hold up as well as more expensive knives, requiring frequent sharpening in the field. The design of the sheath can also be a bit cumbersome, with the handle sticking out past its edges.
Still, for its price and easy accessibility, the Gerber Vital Knife makes gutting animals a less daunting task. It's simple and effective, even if it's not the sharpest or most luxurious tool in my collection. Overall, it's a great option for hunters who need a reliable field knife at a wallet-friendly price.

🔗Rugged Gerber Machete with Rubber Grip and Nylon Sheath

https://preview.redd.it/rhs66c4z0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=842d3902e329bddd592b9a7dfcf9388f6c841e76
When I first picked up the Gerber Gator Machete, I was excited to see its unique design and features. The combination of the fine edge blade and high performance saw blade on either side of the handle was intriguing. However, upon closer inspection, I realized that there were some drawbacks to this machete.
One of the main issues I encountered was the blade's strength. The short tang and delicate nature of the high carbon steel made it difficult to work with on any substantial material. Additionally, the saw on the spine of the blade added unnecessary weight and made it harder to use. This left me feeling like this machete wasn't the best option for heavy-duty tasks.
On the positive side, the Gator rubber grip provided a comfortable and ergonomic hold, making it more pleasant to use for extended periods of time. The nylon sheath also added a sense of safety and durability, ensuring that the machete would be protected when not in use.
Overall, the Gerber Gator Machete has some promising features, but its limitations in blade strength and versatility make it a less ideal choice for more demanding tasks. It might be better suited for light-duty trimming or as a backup tool for camping trips.

🔗Compact and Versatile Gerber Versafix Machete- Knife

https://preview.redd.it/0zjqoohz0w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7af88d21fb092ab5cf902255a035357f3f3e3025
I recently had the opportunity to try the Gerber Versafix Machete, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. This compact fixed blade/machete hybrid packs a punch in terms of functionality and convenience.
One of the standout features of the Versafix is its weight-forward design. It's perfect for those who enjoy swift results with minimal effort. The recurved blade shape also retains sharpness near the base, making it ideal for traditional knife work. I found that the forward jimping on the top of the blade provided a secure grip when using it for batoning tasks.
The handle, made of a comfortable grip material, significantly reduces hand fatigue and hot spots. I took this little gem along on my hikes through dense terrain, and it proved to be an excellent companion. The Versafix's unique size makes it convenient to carry while still offering enough power for various tasks.
However, one downside that I noticed is the nylon sheath that comes with the tool. It doesn't seem to be the most secure option for storing your Versafix Machete. I would have preferred a more robust sheath or the option to purchase one separately.
Despite this minor concern, I've grown quite fond of the Gerber Versafix Machete. Its smart design and thoughtful features make it a worthy addition to any outdoor enthusiast's tool collection. If you're looking for a versatile and efficient blade at a reasonable price, I highly recommend giving this little hybrid a try.

Imagine you're on a fishing trip with your friends, enjoying the great outdoors and waiting for a catch. Suddenly, you see the perfect moment to cast your line. In a flash, you pull in your fish and instantly realize you don't have the tools to process and clean it. That's where the Gerber Gutsy Compact Processing Tool comes to the rescue.
This small, sleek multi-tool packs a big punch. The Gerber Gutsy Compact Processing Tool may be small, but don't let its size fool you. This powerful, compact multi-tool is the perfect companion on your next fishing adventure. The Gerber Splice Pocket Tool has been my trusty companion in various outdoor adventures. It's designed to be lightweight and compact, making it effortless to carry on my keychain or pocket.
One feature that sets it apart is the two blades, which can handle various applications with ease. The intuitive opening adds to its convenience, especially in a pinch. Plus, the new bottle opener design provides better leverage for those times when you need a cold one.
However, the durability seems slightly lacking compared to other Gerber products I've tried. Nevertheless, the Gerber Splice earns its spot in my toolkit thanks to its versatility and user-friendly design.

🔗Gerber Versafix Pro Machete with Black Oxide Finish

https://preview.redd.it/ifn3cgl01w5d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd8eebd9fd1d8234041bab179f258ebdbf4d1007

The machete-style blade offers the size, strength, and heft to tackle traditional fixed-blade tasks, while the ergonomically designed handle ensures comfortable grip even during intense use. The blade itself is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, and the handle is overmolded with polymer for added durability.
One of the standout features of this machete is the multi-mount sheath, which allows for easy one-handed operation and secure carry. The sheath also includes a lanyard hole for added safety and convenience. Although the Versafix Pro is labeled as made in China, the high-quality construction and reliable performance make it a top choice for outdoor enthusiasts. The machete's size is perfect for a variety of tasks, from chopping and cutting to batoning, making it a versatile addition to any survival kit or camping gear.

Buyer's Guide

The Gerber Karambit is a versatile and unique knife that combines the functions of both a knife and a self-defense tool. Its distinctive curved design allows for a variety of cutting and gripping techniques, making it a popular choice among adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Material and Construction

The Gerber Karambit is typically made from high-quality stainless steel, making it durable and resistant to corrosion. 2024.06.11 08:28 Beneficial-Pin-2390 EPPP Venting (what a test) + Need Advice

Took the EPPP today. Failed by a point. Been studying since February & using all the materials from AATBS/PsychPrep. About 20-30% of the content I could recognize from all the stuff I studied. The rest was complete random stuff; for instance a bunch of questions on specific literature reviews/articles published in the past 10 years. Surprisingly, NO diagnosing at all.
I applied with the Kentucky board as a master level clinician while finishing internship. My “year” expires in a few days, so I am feeling confused regarding whether I’ll be allowed to take it again & if so, how quickly. The breakdown of the scores shows I got average on all domains, and even high average on ethics & bio & stats (which was a surprise as this last one was the domain I felt the least prepared for).
As of now my plan is to take it ASAP. I feel super confident in the content I studied. I believe the content in this version was so off that I am convinced there is no point in studying more. So I’m hoping to get a different version that actually resembles the study material that we have to invest thousands of dollars on. It would be nice to get tested on what I was told I would be tested lol. If I could take it tomorrow I would, but again, I’m unsure of whether that’s a possibility.
Anyone familiar with KT board policies for master level applicants? Also, any recommendations on other state boards that go through the apps fast & will allow you to take the EPPP relatively quickly? I got a job offer starting August so I’m trying to get my licensure by then.
Thanks in advance.

PODOAL 2nd - 114,600 votes 1st - 117,400 votes

I made a quick guide on how to collect voting points in this app for those who are interested. 😁

If yes, please mention them in the comments so I can include them on my next update 👍. Thanks!

2024.06.11 07:10 overdue_breakdown You wont take my complaint seriously? Ill call the health department!

Okay so this happened about a year or so ago. I (19ftm) lived paycheck to paycheck at the time due to only being able to work part time due to my disability (now 21 still part time at another job with more hours but still managing to scrape by) so I would frequently shop at a store in our area that would claim to help your wallet out, it really didnt sometimes but if you knew where to look, the store lived up to its slogan name.
Here lies the issue. This store is also somewhat also known for sometimes not rotating stock properly, thus you may get goods that are out of date. For certain items no biggie. Other no. I lived with my sister at the time and once we had gotten meat that was expired by 6 MONTHS and we hadnt noticed till we had gotten home. We were so frustrated that we called ahead of time and then went and asked for a refund.
We were more wary after that. A couple week after, i decided to buy yogurt from them. The single serve cups because i wanted a snack. It was still within its best buy date and i was excited. Only to be revolted when i got home to open it and see mold growing on the top in the corner.
What the hell?
Immediately i called the store. They asked if i wanted a refund and to bring in the product and my receipt. I said no. It was barely a dollar yogurt, i wanted to let them know it had mold, and give them the batch so they could be aware and do what they needed.
Now what i can remember was them saying this.
"I can speak to my manager and let them know about the complaint but if you dont want a refund theres not much we can do, you have to call corporate."
This wasnt a complaint in my opinion, it was a valid health concern. Especially considering prior incidents. What if the other containers had mold and someone didnt notice and got sick? I myself am disabled and couldve gotten deathly ill if i had consumed the mold due to my slow digestive system and at the time, I had a GJ tube for gastroparesis.
"Can I speak to your manager actually?" I hated that I asked that. But they obligied without much fuss thankfully. But while he gave me his business email to give a copy of my complaint, he said the same about calling corporate.
Could i have called the actual company who made the yogurt? Well fun fact, the store makes the yogurt brand so thats actually the corporate office! It was the same phone number for complaints for products thankfully, as I made sure to check.
But i digress, I called corporate, filed a complaint. Gave the batch number. Submitted my photos. And waited. I waited a week. I also had emailed the manager of the store, with the complaint for his side, with no response. I expected that. By this time i went back to the store for something else, i think some bottled water. I glance at the yogurt just by curiousity and what do i see?
The same damn yogurt! Same dates, same batch numbers, same everything. By this time the yogurts were days out of date. In my opinion they shouldve been rotated out and clearanced day of or the day before their best by date. But to still have them a week later especially when a customer has complained of finding mold?
Something just snapped. I know corporate business takes awhile to process but the website had said it was resolved within like half of the time after i made the complaint. Yet the person on the phone had sounded concerned but something along the chain of the report, it didnt stick. So obviously someone didnt care. But i knew who would. I pulled out my phone, i took pictures of the yogurt on the shelves and proof of the date they were taken and some other things i believe too i found. I went home and found pictures of the 6 month expired meat, they had time stamps too!
Do you know how fast you can find your local county health department? Fairly quick with the right key words. You can also sometimes find the public routine inspections! Theirs were meh but it looked like they were due for a new ones so.... A quick email was all it took. Explaining how corporate wasnt really responding or taking it serious, the store wasnt taking it seriously, and the violations i had experienced. I attached all the images i had collected. I paused, maybe corprate hadnt told the store to pull it yet? No. Their store is known for being lax on rotating stock and taking complaints with a grain of salt.
I hit send.
I do remember vividly that within 3 days, I had an email from the manager of the store! Shocking! He did get my email then. He was offering a refund on the yogurt again but this time without needing my receipt. Apologizing for the inconvenience that the experience had for me basically. Which was wild in my opinion. I didnt respond. I didnt want i refund. I told them that.
But the next time i was brave enough to go in about a day later, the yogurt had been restocked completely. Aswell as other things that i had mentioned in my report like the meats.
Now i rarely see anything past a few days if that. Theyve become smarter at marking stuff down too. Now it really does help our wallet sometimes!

2024.06.11 06:28 AnonProstatitis AnonProstatitis - My Complete Guide to Prostatitis - What works, what is inconclusive, etc

Hi everyone. Some of you may have read my posts for a good year or more. I'll spare the background story as you can read that elsewhere, but rest assured, it was probably very similar to yours.
I've decided to finally spend a moment to summarize what I think helps, what is inconclusive, and what certainly didn't help me or even hurt me.
Before I do so, I want to say that I still strongly believe this is an "inflammatory" issue - one that can start from many different reasons, UTI, STD, injury, or any other bodily reaction to some external stimulation (mental/stress or physical).
THINGS THAT HELPED ME (ordering is non-specific):
  1. Pain Specific:
    1. A cushioned pillow with a hollow middle, for when I had to sit. Initially sitting was painful.
    2. Standing or laying down (flat on back) vs. sitting
    3. Taking long walks (although too long or too frequent could cause hip pain)
    4. Stretching / Yoga / Meditation (Yes, all of this felt super 'weird' at first, but when you're in pain, you do whatever). Diaphragmatic breathing was very helpful, probably because it causes the area to be "more open" even if temporarily.
    5. Long Warm Bathes where you just sit and do nothing (bring your phone/watch tv)
    6. Advil - Be careful, you can't take this ongoing
    7. THC or Delta-9 - if its legal where you live, I really strongly recommend trying small dosages (5-10mg max). It has an ability to calm the nervous system while also reducing the pain. I have to say this is what really "got me over the hump" likely because it seems to have reduced the inflammation. I would say this is one of the single biggest helpers for me in overcoming and returning to a semi normal state. Keep in mind, I never ever even tried THC before this.
    8. Alcohol - WAIT PLEASE READ: Double edged sword. Pain temporarily feels better, but urinary frequency continues/picks up and I think it drags out or prevents any healing and ultimately extends the duration. I do not recommend (see last section).
    9. FIBER + Basic foods. Eating basic foods like chicken, basic starches (rice/bread) with no spicy or vinegary components really seemed to help. Having healthy bowel movements always seemed to coincide with feeling a bit more improved
    10. Sitting to pee / Double or Triple voiding - I know, it sucks, but sit to pee and relax. Don't get up instantly, bring your phone. Hell, get up after you sit to pee and then turn around and try to pee a second time standing. What's important here is that you try to empty the bladder as much as possible without being forceful. I suspect there's an inflammatory issue and having that extra urine in your urethra or backed up doesn't help it calm down since urine is almost always accumulating.
    11. Massages - this helped calm the nervous system down, which in turn reduced some of the secondary issues.
  2. Knee pillow for sleeping on side. Helped me sleep while on my side as always sleeping on your back gets to be annoying.
  3. Mental (You'll hear people tell you about the psychological aspects of Prostatitis - saying your brain is feeding the issue. I don't fully buy this theory - I think we truly are in pain and when you are pissing 5x in an hour and it starts to hurt as a result, sure it also messes with your mind and you become a nervous wreck in your pursuit to understand search for some biological reason)
    1. GET TESTED FOR EVERYTHING AND RULE IT ALL OUT. Once you rule it all out, if you still have doubts, RULE IT OUT A SECOND TIME. I know Mods will say this is feeding into the fear, but for those with a certain mindset like mine, ruling out biological causes is the only way to ease the mind. Once you've run through all the blood work, urinary and other urological tests, STD tests, etc, you can finally settle in with the idea "my body is reacting to something and its not a virus or disease - it's something causing inflammation which is causing all these other issues.
    2. Remember there's been tens of thousands of people in your exact situation (you can read the history yourself) and 95% of them get better over time. Chances are, you will too in due time.
THINGS I DID BUT ARE INCONCLUSIVE:
  1. Avoiding acidic foods (vinegar, etc.).
  2. Internal Work via PT . While stretching and other things were helpful, the actual internal work leaves me a bit indecisive as to its effectiveness. Sometimes I felt worst, sometimes indifferent and other times I wanted to associate it to feeling a bit better - however I could have probably also done a rain dance and concluded the same
  3. Antibiotics - Since I may have initially had a UTI, it may have helped in clearing that out and certainly helps with inflammation.
  4. Alpha blockers - I still take Alfuzosin b/c I'm a bit scared of reverting back to how things were, but I am not sure if it ever helped or not
  5. Ejaculation - this is a hit or miss area. Sometimes it helped, sometimes it helped, but then it was worse 2 days later and then other times it just outright hurt. I would stick with the typical recommendations of not overdoing it and trying to average about 2-3 every 1-2 weeks. Sex seemed to be less likely to aggravate anything.
  6. Cialis - It felt like it helped for about 2 weeks to improve a bit, but never fully and then it seemed to 'plateau' at the 2 week mark. I recommend trying it if your doctor is ok with it. Worst part was the acid reflux it caused me.
  7. Methylprednisolone - prescribed initially, hard to tell if it did anything or maybe it would have been worse if i had not tried it
  8. Bactrim - maybe it got rid of some "small" UTI or non-classifiable UTI, but all it did was provide some anti-inflammatory in the beginning
  9. Measuring the pH of my piss. I did it, I'm not sure it told me anything other than slightly acidic. Probably wouldn't waste time doing it, but who knows on this one.
  10. Wearing loose fitting clothing (i.e. sweatpants, shorts w/ elastic, etc. Avoid BELTS!!! I know this is hard if you work in an office, but I found the belt being tight while sitting caused more pain in the pelvic area.
  11. Dry Needling - I tried it once, i felt some muscles twitch, but I fail to see how this really could help.
  12. Massage Guns / Thera Guns - didn't make it worse or better. Note: I did not ever try TENS
  13. Caffeine - Not really a heavy user of caffeine, so difficult to say. It normally can cause increased urinary frequency and stimulates the nervous system, so cautiously avoid if possible.
  14. Dieting - it probably helps a bit because you're potentially reducing some "tightness," with weight loss, but it isn't a silver bullet.
  15. Quercetin / Vitamin C - didn't hurt, no idea if it helped.
THINGS I DID BUT DEFINITELY DIDN'T HELP OR MADE IT WORSE:
  1. DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL. I am pretty sure my 2-3x times drinking a week prolonged my issues or even caused some of them to begin with. Simply put, just swear it off until you feel better. See things that helped #7 if you need something to relax you.
  2. Do not "hunch over" when sitting. This feels like it just further caused the inflammation and tightness
  3. AVOID SPICY FOODS ENTIRELY - See #9 in things that helped me. I can eat spicy foods again, but doing it before either aggravated all the symptoms or caused my bowels to get enflamed and further added to all the pain and issues
  4. Do not Stress over this - come to grips that you've causes some internal inflammation, it will die down, very slowly over time and your goal is not to aggravate it, which includes stressing over it
  5. Fluconazole - didn't do anything
  6. Urodynamics- didn't tell me anything relevant (but see my Mental section, Point #1
  7. Cystoscopy - didn't tell me anything other than I have a somewhat higher neck bladder, but I still think it's important for ruling out strictures
  8. Manuka Honey - doesn't do jack shit, at least specific to this issue.
  9. Drinking Alkaline water - pretty sure just a waste of money
  10. Juicing Lemons and drinking it - tasted good, but don't think it did anything (theory was that lemon juice turns to alkaline by the body - while that may be true, it doesn't seem to do anything relative to the issue.)
I hope this guide helps some and serves as an easy to read guide of things to do or not do as well as things that are still up for debate. As always, this is not medical advice and you should listen to your doctor. Everyone's body is different and while we share many symptoms, what works for you may not work for someone else. So don't give up on trying new things as long as they don't have major downsides. Ultimately, I think the only thing that helps is reducing the inflammation and giving your body time to heal from that inflammation. As always, feel free to ask me questions.

2024.06.11 05:35 Razgorths Unlocked S22 Ultra Issues with Warp

I switched to US Mobile a little over 2 weeks ago from an AT&T MVNO (Consumer Cellular). I was pretty confident I wanted Warp as I live in a pretty rural area where TMobile signal is spotty at best.
The device I'm using is an SM-S908U1 from Best Buy: I was under the impression this was the USA unlocked variant.
On initial order for the free trial I attempted to get the Warp eSIM. The phone wouldn't connect: after troubleshooting with support for about an hour, they ended up telling me that the phone was previously carrier locked and so the Warp eSIM wouldn't work, that I had to use the GSM eSIM. A little skeptical, I inquired as to whether a physical Warp SIM would work, and was told that it would, so I hopped on GSM temporarily while I waited for the starter kit to arrive.
In the meantime, I went on a short vacation and so put the phone project on the back burner. I got back yesterday and tried to port over my current eSIM to the Warp pSIM this morning. I did it through another chat as I wasn't aware that Network Transfer had been implemented since I was away.
On the dashboard, the transfer appears to have gone through: I got the confirmation email etc. Weirdly enough though, I now have two separate lines in my dash, both with the same number showing: one is the GSM eSIM with 10 days left in the free trial, the other is the Verizon pSIM with 30 days left in the trial. And of course, the functional one is still the GSM eSIM, not Warp. I spoke with support chat again and they've escalated me to their porting partners (?), which apparently will take a few days.
I'd like to resolve this before the free trial expires, of course, since if I can't get Warp working I'd rather switch to a different carrier until Dark Star drops at least, as TMobile is bordering unusable. It seems that people on Reddit are having better luck getting issues with Samsung devices dealt with, so I figured I'd give this a shot. Any and all help would be very much appreciated; many thanks!

2024.06.11 05:09 dontbearacecar A young boy joins and grows up with a teen gang after his parents don’t return home.

A kid joins a gang after his parents don’t return.
Key Events in Point Form: (more detailed description from my memory below this)
  1. Young boy left home alone as parents are transported somewhere else. Novel takes place in the capital of China (Beijing) in a particularly dangerous area.
  2. Parents leave him alone with supplies but don’t return at the time they said they would.
  3. Boy feels disoriented from expired/poisonous food.
  4. He begins living with a friend after running out of food.
  5. The boy and his friend pickpocket to pay for friend's grandmother’s medicine.
  6. They join a teen gang, becoming involved in violence and murder.
  7. Novel ends with reunion with the boys father at a train.
  8. Read in a Canadian (Kitchener) middle school in 2019.
Description:
This book starts off with the parents leaving a young boy (around the age of 10, who is soon to be the protagonist) for roughly 2 weeks on a train somewhere else for a reason i can’t remember, and they left him with food and water in his house. The next morning, the boy wakes up and is very disoriented; I believe he ate something expired or poisonous which made him feel like he can’t see properly.
After his parents don’t come back within 2 weeks, the boy soon finds himself with no food in his house and begs his friend to live at his house. His friend only agrees he would let him inside if he helped pay for the friends sick grandmothers medicine pills. Both of the children grew up poorly, so it was a struggle to pay for said medication. The two children would end up pick-pocketing strangers by cutting their purses and taking out the money to pay for the medicine.
Past the beginning of the novel, everything else (being the middle portion of the story) is significantly more harder to remember. I know that the grandmother ended up passing away and the two kids ended up joining a teen gang on the way. They became murderers (clashing with the other gangs in the corrupted area) causing some of their own members to also be killed.
At the end of the novel, the boy (the main protagonist), who is around 17 at this point, ends up meeting his father at a train and reuniting with him. It is a bittersweet ending and depicts a very tragic and concrete setting of where the kid was born.
(In addition, I can’t remember the exact location of the story, but I’m sure that it was a capital city of some Asian country, specifically Beijing in China).
I’ve read this book in middle school (2019) at my school library in Canada. I would appreciate if anybody can tell me if they knew what book I’m talking about.

2024.06.11 04:58 Hot_Half8432 Yeast infection

I’m on my third month of fluconazole and I got BV. I just got done with antibodies and I have cottage cheese discharge (no itching). If I get a yeast infection while on this fluconazole what happens from here? Should I ask to be prescribed 3 to take every 3 days to get rid of it and then continue once weekly?

2024.06.11 04:52 nyeahdeztroy Amcal SouthPort Issues (EXPIRED MEDS)- No longer Rate these guys - Go Elsewhere!

So I received my order from Amcal Southport today, again delayed by a week due to staff error on their end, for the 3rd time, and 3rd order in a row!
All these errors have occurred whilst placing orders through the website chat they push you to, because they no longer want to take phone orders, so how they make errors on these orders when it is CLEAR plain text, and not accidently mishearing someone on the phone!!
These guys have well and truly dropped the ball!
Now to todays issue, I received Kind Medical Dulce, with an expiry date of 21/03/2024 (batch 04485), almost an entire 3 months after expiry! (Kind Dulce already comes in significantly under weight when in date, so its only going to have lost more weight since March)
I contacted them, and they informed me they have an extension letter until the 21/06/2024. That's 10 days away, and they still had the nerve to charge me full price!
The product will pass its extension before even half of it will have been used by myself!
They are refusing to refund or accept it back, nor are they willing to resupply it!!
They also said they have no further batch's of Ducle only batch 04485 in stock, and they are expecting Kind Medical to issue a further extension for the same batch and they will email it to me when (a big fat IF!) they receive it (the second staff member who gave me the above info was was very kind, understanding, and helpful)!
These guys are becoming scammier with every order, and every issue and they just don't give a flying f*ck!
If you have had similar issues, I would recommend reporting them to the Ombudsman. They are only getting worse the bigger they get, and they keep expecting to get away with it whilst shafting customers!
Qld Health Ombudsman You can do it via phone 133646
***UPDATE*** (After my last call with them when they said there was no other options that I could take, except take the medication I stated that charging full price for something expiring 10 days away was ridiculous and morally questionable, not to mention bad business practice, the operator was lovely, and understanding saying she can see my point. I then informed them I would be lodging this issue with the Ombudsman!
20 minutes later the helpful lady called back and said she spoke to the Pharmacist, likely along with me stating I was going to lodge with the Ombudsman, informed me the Pharmacists had decided to credit me back $21 so I wouldn't be charged the full price, again this was only after mentioning lodging this with the ombudsman)

2024.06.11 04:46 Infamous_Safe_6363 Divorce while still living together and spouse threatened to make my life a living hell

2 weeks ago I (36m) decided that I want to divorce my wife (40f) and I really started to dislike her to the point that I just can't stand her anymore. It all started when I took her car to the mechanic to get it fixed for wheel bearing, breaks and rotor issues. I spent over 3hrs at the shop waiting for the car and when they finished while driving home the ABS light came on so I called the shop owner, who happens to be a friend, to let him know about that and he said bring it back in couple of days if the light is still on. I told my wife about this and I said I'll bring the car back to have the ABS light fixed.
A couple days later she came into the house, while I was in the living room playing with my daughter, screaming calling me a worthless piece of shit for giving her car to some stupid mechanic who damaged the car. She called me a weak man for taking the car back to her when it wasn't fully fixed. Apparently she heard a pop sound and the wheel started making noises. I told her I'll take the car back to the mechanic to fix it and from now on whenever the car needs something she can handle it herself. This got her soo mad; she felt like I was disrespecting her by saying this.
Anyway, I brought the car back into the shop and there was a crack on the hub assembly and after they replaced that everything is fine with the car now.
FWIW I bought this car brand new for her and I'm still making the car payments. Unfortunately, though, the warranty for the wheel bearing just expired less than a year ago. I pay for all the repairs on her and my car - the break replacements, inspections etc.
She later apologized and said she took it too far and should've known better but I told her I can't do it anymore. She has a serious anger, possibly bipolar disorder, that needs to be evaluated by professionals but she gets offended when you mention that. Now she's saying that it's either we work it out or she'll make sure that I suffer in the process. She said she has no intention of signing any divorce papers until she gets everything she wants (whatever that means). She said will seek for 100% custody for our 2 kids.
I talked to an attorney who told me to not move out of the condo as it could complicate custody agreement or property division since I've already fully paid it off.
Anybody lived with a spouse, while divorce is pending, who refuses to accept that you no longer want to be with them? I haven't filed for divorce yet.

2024.06.11 04:27 KKE225 Need timeline recommendations!

Hi everyone! I decided that I am going to void my score on my 06/14 exam, as my practice exam scores are not close to my goal score. My goal score is low 500s for DO schools and 512+ for MD schools, and all of my practice exam scores are below 500.
I am thinking of taking the MCAT for an actual score in either September or January (which I would like advice on as well in terms of which is better timing for the 2025-2026 cycle). The biggest things I’ve noticed while taking practice exams that I need to work on are:
-Content gaps in the C/P and B/B sections -Running out of time on CARS for around the last two passages -Not knowing some terminology in P/S section
I would greatly appreciate if anyone could please provide advice regarding a timeline I could follow to reach my goal score of 512+ by either September or January (if I could please have advice on which month I should take it as well!). I have the AAMC materials until December 31st (not sure if I can renew them since I was approved for fee assistance program). I have UWORLD that expires mid July, which I can renew/extend as well if necessary. I also have Kaplan books. I know many people use Anki decks as well. I am willing to use whatever resources are best to reach my goal of 512+, and would greatly appreciate feedback on what materials you think are best for me to use and how long I should be spending doing content review/practice questions, or both at the same time. Just need help figuring out a plan so I’m ready to get a 512+! I will be working full time, 40 hours a week as well, so please factor that in with advice of whether I should take exam in September or January.

2024.06.11 03:32 amynguyen96 Passed G2 today at Downsview

Hi everyone, I passed my G2 today at Downsview. I feel so relieved and satisfied at the moment ☺️.
I have been a silent reader on all of the posts about taking G2, experiences and tips. Thanks for sharing guys.
I would like to share my experience today in case it can help someone out there about to take G2 road test at Downsview.
My G1 was expired but I got an extension just for taking the G2 test today. Therefore I had to try my best to pass, otherwise I would have to start over from G1.
My test was scheduled at 1:08pm, however it was running behind and I started my test around 2:20pm. After checking signal, hitting brake, honk, I started my road test.
• For anyone taking road test at Downsview, remember to do a full stop at the yellow line while exitting the parking area even though there is no stop sign. I was confused with this but I asked around and observed people taking their test to know that you should stop, check traffic both sides and proceed. Someone failed even before getting to the main road for not doing this.
• Then turn left on Carl Hall Rd, then right on John Drury Dr. Speed limit is 30km/hr. Just need to look out for pedestrians crossing the street or sometimes jaywalking, and bicycles, because Downsview area gets pretty busy during summer.
• My Examiner asked me to turn right on Sheppard Ave West. Check the traffic on the left carefully if you want to turn right on red because cars drive 60,70 km/hr on Sheppard even though speed limit is 50.
• He asked me to change lane to left and turn left at the traffic light into Tuscan Gate. Then I was aksed to downhill park then keep going, and turn right at St Regis Crescent. From here I did 3-point turn, making sure there is no traffic on both sides before doing 3 points turning.
• Turn left to Tuscan Gate, right on Sheppard Ave W then back to the drivetest.
• When back at the test center, I did reverve parking (don’t rely on the camera while backing up, slight glance is fine, or else the examiner can cover it up while you do parking). After reverse into the spot, I was asked to drive out and do the head-in parking in the opposite side of the reversed parking spot as well.
Today I got lucky because around 2pm, the road was pretty much empty. The weather was cooler today too so there weren’t many people walking in this area. I drove within the speed limit, with no rush and made sure I did all the mirrow checkings, blindspots and parking requirements.
The examiner was relaxed, he told me he liked the technique I did while reverse parking and I did a good job and he asked me why I waited so long that my G1 was expired to take the G2 test. I told him I have always been an anxious driver, I had a bad experience for my first G2 in Etobicoke before because the examiner was yelling at me and distracting me while I took the test and I couldn’t finish the test and I thought I would never drive again.
3 weeks ago, my mom passed her G2, she is older and she told me if she can do it, so do I and I should give it a try. So I did. I took many lessons and drove hours on the road, test routes. I also drive everyday to practise in my boyfriend’s car with him sitting in the passenger seat. I asked my instructor questions when I have challenges on the road to also gain experience for driving after the test too.
Noone would be more nervous than me. Imagine 1 month before the test day, I couldn’t even sleep when there was driving lesson the next day. But I keep trying, keep driving, keep learning from my mistake and today I’m so happy that I’m offically G2 driver now🥰. I wish everyone who is about to take the test good luck, practise until you feel confident, keep calm and you got thissss. Thanks all of you guys for your help. Have a lovely week you all!

2024.06.11 03:31 bl00dy0range AITA for flipping out on my flatmate-landlord?

My (F21) flatmate (M34) is also my landlord and we have been living together for 2.5 months.
Recently I have flipped out on him after starting to resent him quickly after probably bottling all my discontent towards certain things. Since he is my landlord, I feel like we don't live on the same terms and he is in more power to set the rules. I also have mixed depression and anxiety disorder which my flatmate is aware of, including how it makes me feel over anxious about a lot of things.
Some things that have led me to flip out: - he threw out my expired slice of bread "for my own good" that I still intended to eat (thus, I took it out of the trash can, he knows I "trash hunt" and don't care if something is expired) and my flat box that takes literally 0 space in the storage room, where I don't have any other stuff and there is still some space. - he leaves his dirty pissed underwear in his laundry basket in the bathroom in plain sight. - he leaves shit stains in the toilet. - he makes jokes that he will burst into my room after I told him how I was angry with my previous flatmate who broke into my room after midnight when I was sleeping and was naked. - he was calling someone today and was cleaning very loudly at 3 AM and didn't understand why I asked him to stop since I couldn't sleep. - he doesn't understand that I am a girl living with a grown up man and any unnecessary act from his side can make me uncomfortable and I will be "trapped" in my own home. He makes fun of me not liking excessive touching after I told him I don't find it funny. He got upset when I told him I have preferred dancing with a "MILF" who volunteered to help me with Latin American dancing and I have found it rather arousing, but not dancing with him. He called my gym outfit "sexy", which I find to be unnecessary information, and so on. He has recently broken up with his girlfriend, I agreed to live with him since I knew he had a gf and I stated that I had a bf which made me consider him less creepy. It is also very hard to find a decent accomodation in my area so everyone is kind of desperate.
I think I may be an asshole and here may have been a lack of miscommunication from my side and I needed to tell him about my discontent and discomfort about some of his actions right away instead of bottling it up in me since he couldn't have guessed about my feelings. Thus, any answers would be appreciated:)

2024.06.11 03:20 BiasMushroom The Devil You Know Ch 2

Memory transcription subject: Khalink, Shield Diplomat
Date [standardized human time]: July 27, 2160
Saori stood at the back of the room as far away from my bed as possible. They looked at me with a single eye and held their head low, “I wish to express my deepest apologies for scaring you. It was my fault for ignoring the obvious signs that I was making you uncomfortable. When I first approached you, I was afraid and instinctively tried to sneak forward. When your feathers flared up, I realized I had spooked you. When you accepted and shared the Peace fruit with me, I foolishly tossed away the notion that I was terrifying to you. At your wish, I will leave and allow another diplomat to take my place. I truly wish to make amends for my poor behavior and help build a better relationship between our peoples.”
The angelic being bowed. I half expected him to rise for my response until I realized he was trying to be as submissive as possible, “no… No. Don't apologize for that. That isn't something that was ever in your control.”
He slowly stood up, looking meekly around the room, “I- uhm don’t understand…”
I opened my beak to speak, but could think of no words. I turned and sat on the edge of my bed and motioned for Saori to join me. The medical staff parted as he slowly approached. It was almost comical how he tried to hide inside his own plumage.
A small laugh escaped my beak and helped calm him significantly, “Heh… I apologize for all of this. If the history of the galaxy hadn't been so… perverted and twisted, this would have never happened. You would probably be paraded around the capital of the Shield and diplomats would be scrambling to befriend you and your people right now… instead we have this… debacle.”
Almost as slow as pitch, Saori leaned over and gently nuzzled my neck, “Thank you, but… I'm afraid I still don't understand what you mean… what happened.”
I let out a long sigh and gently preened a few of his feathers in return, “Well… I guess I should start at the beginning.”
My retelling began with the foundation of the Federation. The true foundation. What the Kolshians and Farsul did to so many races. How we were turned into caricatures of what we once were, and how we are still struggling to shake the beliefs they forced upon us.
Saori was practically in tears at this, “If that's what the only two known races of predators have done…”
“Neither of them were predators despite their behavior.” Saori’s jaw dropped as I described the Arxur. How the Federation allowed their worst to take charge and start a genocidal war against all ‘Prey.’ That entire species of people were hunted to extinction in the most brutal manner possible.
Saori’s predatory eyes locked onto the nearest trash can as he ran forward and spewed up his part of the peace meal we shared. The rest of the crew in the med-bay retreated in fear as he continued to sob and dry heave into a bin. My body moved on its own, likely out of sorrow for seeing such a beautiful creature in pain, and ignored the fear of a now hungry and emotionally disturbed carnivore before me. I pulled the blanket off the bed I was on and draped it over their shoulders. Thankfully, some alcohol wipes were nearby to make cleaning the sides of their mouth and snout easier.
He looked at me with one tear soaked eyes, “I- I am sorry… I- don’t know what to say. If you wish, I will leave at once.”
I wrapped a wing around them, “No… No. Don’t apologize for something out of your control. Maybe… You can tell me about your people? From what I have seen, most pre-contact races had wars, but the more predatory ones tend to be more war-torn than normal.”
Saori allowed me to gently guide them back to my bed, cradled in a blanket, “N-no… Nothing on that scale. The translator your people gave me had to parse out what- what genocide even meant… Dear goddess, guide their souls. I- The last war we had was over [Seven hundred years] ago. Over a thousand people died. It was the worst tragedy we ever had. It led to the creation of the Councilor. He had a wall made… With all the names of those who died engraved on it. Then he went and found the names of those who died in previous wars added too. If a name couldn’t be found, we named them and added them to the wall. It stretched through the core of the capital as a reminder of what hatred and fear brings.”
I could only stare at him in disbelief. Despite the complete contradiction of behavior between themselves and the Arxur, Humans, and Bissems he appeared to be genuinely earnest with me, “That- Really? I- No. I believe you. It’s just the galaxy has been so messed up for so long, one peaceful people… feels too good to be true.”
He slowly closed his eyes, and bowed his head in shame, “I- don’t know where to go from here. Maybe… perhaps my people can help with whatever rebuilding is left? I’d offer to send food, but it would be…”
Ah… for any civilization to form and take to the stars they must have cities. To have cities, you must have a way to feed millions who don’t produce food. For carnivores that means they must raise and slaughter prey. Prey that has to eat something… “Cattle food. I can see how that would not be received well…”
Hope flashed across Saori’s demeanor. I could see the gears turning in his head as a hundred scenarios played out. A slight fanning of his crest revealed a slightly sly but clever nature, “True, but right off the top of my head, we can navigate around that by just being honest. Allow your people to decide if they want to sample it. We do try and make sure the crops we grow are both nutritionally complete as well as tasty for our animals. Helps to enrich their lives.”
This is my failing as a diplomat. I thought I could scrape on by without learning how humanity fed themselves before the invention of cloning. Then I thought I could get by on the Shield outright denying any interest in the Bissems. If I had done my job perhaps what Saori said wouldn’t have shocked me so, “W-why do you care about your food’s comfort?”
Like I should have predicted, Saori looked at me like I was an Arxur, “What?! Those are animals! They can think and feel pain! They can be happy and sad… To think about them living their lives only in misery… goddess that's just barbaric…”
As he finished his small rant I could see the correlation between my shock, their cattle and what the Arxur did connect in his mind. I pressed my beak to his snout in comfort, “Forgive me, but I know others will say this… You still kill and eat them, though.”
He took in a deep breath and held it for a moment. In a long-drawn-out sigh, he bobbed his head in agreement, “That is true. We harvest them when they near the end of their life. Before then, they live in peace and safety with all the food they could want, the enrichment they need to be mentally and emotionally healthy, and well…” A slight smirk crossed his body, “Have many babies. When their bodies begin to fail or normally a year or so before then, is when we harvest them. That way their death is quick and painless rather than wasting.”
I could spin that as empathetic and altering their behavior to avoid cruelty despite their biological need to eat flesh. Yet, I still wondered if the logic of ending a living thing before it became useless to society was an integral part of theirs, “Do you do this to your own people?”
Rage crossed their face as he took offense to my implication, “We aren’t cannibals!”
Khalink you idiot, of course he would still be thinking about the Arxur! I bowed my head submissively, and he quickly calmed down seeing that I misspoke, “N-no! I meant when your own people get old… Do you…”
He gently nuzzled be out of my submissive posture, “It depends. We can consent to pain and the procedures to treat it. Animals can’t. We can understand that serious pain after a surgery is temporary and afterward we will feel better or be able to manage it. Animals can’t. We can ask for help. Animals can, but not as effectively as us. If and only if someone is terminal and there is no way to manage their pain, do we offer induced comas and rarely euthanasia.”
I took a long deep breath to calm myself. So far, this entire first contact has been handled so poorly by myself. He shouldn’t have to defend his entire society like this, “I- … It sounded like your people are living hypocritically… or cruelly. I apologize. Just the thought…”
He wrapped his tail around me, “It makes your stomach turn?”
I placed my wing upon his back once more, “Yeah… it would appear to be the same for you, just a little different.”
The smirk he once had came back, “Yeah… I guess us apex predators don’t know what it's like to have predators. To know that kind of fear. But I promise you we can understand. We will understand. We are capable of empathy. I am not going to sit here and ask you to trust me or us. I will work to prove it.”
I pulled him into a reassuring hug, “You already have… I don't think the Shield will want to maintain contact with you, but the Shield can shove their whole head up their collective cloacae for all I care. It will be an uphill struggle, but that future your people want with… your muse… I will work with you to bring it forward. Presently, I need as much info about your people as possible. My higher ups are going to want a report and the reason I fainted. I’m sure yours are getting anxious too.”
He couldn’t help but let out a short giggle, “They are… hey, may I ask you for a favor?”
I stood up from the bed, “Yes! Of course!”
Saori started to follow me out of the infirmary, “Can I get as complete of a list as possible of whom all died in the Arxur-Federation war, as well as whom the Federation purged?”
I stopped in my tracks trying to fathom just how large that list would be, “That… is a very long list and one that won’t be easy to put names too… Why”
He graciously bowed, “I understand. But it will help my people understand the true scope of the horrors that happened.”
I returned the bow, “Of course. It will take a little while, I assume you also want a history on the galaxy as well?”
Saori patted his face with his wing talons in embarrassment, “Oh yes! That’s probably a little more important! Really, any and all information is welcome. We have teams of people drooling over the thought of… I need to pick better figurative language… The nerds back home are… absolutely besides themselves with excitement at the thought of learning even the most benign facts about you all.”
Truthfully, that turn of phrase is something every race in the galaxy natively had. Food is the grandest motivator of them all, “Then let's give them something to sink their teeth into!”
___/\___
Welp went to pick my truck up today and learned that one, My pre approved loan had expired (no one told me they do that even if I order a truck and let them know) and two my position as a layed off union electrician makes getting loans more complicated. Thankfully the dealerships says they can get me a loan if my bank decides to be dicks and that people who do contract work aren't uncommon so me being between jobs atm is not the worse thing.
NOW! I ask you, Do you have any questions for me? About anything really, but ideally about this or my other works?

2024.06.11 03:07 Big-Possibility-2251 Revco Solutions sent me a letter saying they're sending over $6k in medical debt to an attorney

Basically what the title says - Today I got a letter from Revco Solutions saying I owe over $6k in medical debt from 3/2019 - 4/2021. I could vaguely guess what the debts are for, but none of this has ever reflected on my credit report, and I had and used my own insurance since around 2018. The letter is vauge. It just lists the accounts/reference number, medical office, amounts, and total balance; plus two sentences "you owe this, we have authorization to send this to an attorney" (summarized). There's no due date or respond by date. . Now, I'm not saying that I don't think the debt is mine, I'm sure it is and I just don't have a record of it, but here's what I want to know: 1. What is the likelihood that this debt will end up with an attorney? 2. What is the likelihood that I will be sued? 3. If 2 happens, can they garnish my wages/take my paychecks? 4. How possible would it be to contact them to set up a small payment plan (I'm talking like $30 a month or something due to other expenses) to avoid all of this, without it blowing up in my face? . I see a lot of "just leave it on your credit report until it expires" but the threat of getting sued makes me ill and I do not want my financial situation to be negatively impacted as I am the main source of income for my family. On the other hand, I work for a bank and I know some creditors (not familiar with R.S.) will just use bogus claims as a scare tactic to get people to pay. I know debating not paying something that you owe is an asshole thing to do, but if I'm being honest, I don't really care about that. I care about my money or my house being taken from me, and I genuinely forgot about any of this since I haven't heard about it or seen it until today. . For context, I just bought a home. I'm married (26F), have one child, and both myself and my husband work full time (joint, yearly net income roughly $100k) and I live in the state of Ohio in the US. I appreciate any and all help! I've been searching like a mad woman but haven't really gotten the answers I'm looking for.

2024.06.11 02:31 CrudeAndUnusual Provider for standalone watch service for G6C LTE?

My cell service is through Spectrum. I used to work there. When I quit they kinda forgot to take me off the employee pricing so switching providers isn't gonna happen until 2117 when my "employee promotion" expires. They must have a deal with Apple since those are the only watches they support. I have a Galaxy 6 Classic LTE and need service for just my watch. Surely there's a minimalist market for watch only service. Any recommendations? Will getting a watch line impact the way it and phone interface at all? That will continue to rely on BT/WiFi like it does now and there's nothing Spectrum can do to mess that up, right? I'm not great with this stuff so if there's any ramifications I'm unaware of I want to know before I get excited and let down AGAIN by not getting text or call notifications from my phone or something. Thanks for reading and any tips!

2024.06.11 00:50 Otherwise-Category42 Petition to the GameStop Board of Directors

TL;DR - I cannot summarize this post because I feel that it is necessary to read it entirely in order to fully understand the point I am trying to make. If you do not like this post that is ok, but if you decide to downvote it, please read it entirely before doing so. Thank you.

Call to Action

Since the beginning we have always strived to do everything in our power to protect our investments. We migrated subreddits multiple times, we established backup communication outlets, we moved brokerages and called them to demand our shares not be lent out, we backed up our DD, and eventually we learned about direct registration and DRSed our shares. If we take a step back in time to when we originally started to DRS our shares, there were two main reasons for it: the obvious one was to attempt at locking the float, but the other reason was to protect our shareholders rights. Now that we are in the end game, why should we stop now? I know there are a wide range of opinions on GameStop's recent corporate actions. The events that have occurred over the past few weeks have left thousands of shareholders with concerns. You may not agree with them, but the reality is that they are there, and they are real shareholders. I've read through their comments all over this subreddit, as well as everywhere else. My goal with this post is to remind everyone that we as shareholders have the right to let our voices be heard. We own billions in this company, and our voices are more powerful than some of you may think. This is the exact reason I created this petition, to express my concerns to GameStop. I also emailed GameStop investor relations.

Recent Events

A few weeks ago, Roaring Kitty returned and lit the internet on fire with a barrage of memes on X. Perhaps he knew something was coming. Around the same time, the volume and volatility of the stock came to life like it hasn't in years. It is clear as day that this increase in volume and volatility has nothing to do with Roaring Kitty, but rather there's something under hood occurring that is driving the price action. Whether its obligations from leaps, swaps, ETF rebalancing, or any of the other many possibilities, its clear something big is happening. During the week of May 13-17, the price of GME actually touched $80. By May 17, the price had fallen and was consolidating in the $30 range, when GameStop announced a 45 million share "at-the-market offering" and "first quarter preliminary results". On May 24, GameStop announced the completion of the share offering, having raised $933.4 million. The "acquisitions and investments" language in the filing led many to speculate that maybe GameStop needed to quickly raise capital for a merger deal that was already underway, perhaps to be announced the week of earnings and the annual shareholder's meeting.
After a brief silence, Roaring Kitty posted his absolutely insane position to SuperStonk for the world to see. At this point, the behavior of MSM and various actors on social media made it clear that whoever is on the other side of that bet is very, very scared. This past week, we saw the volume and volatility of the stock begin to churn again. By Thursday, June 6 we were seeing violent upward price action in the stock. After this price action had already begun, Roaring Kitty scheduled a livestream on his YouTube channel for the next day, July 7 at noon est. Again it was clear that something under the hood was driving the stock, as it began before Roaring Kitty posted his livestream. During after hours Thursday night, the price hit over $60. On Friday morning, GameStop announced another 75 million share "at-the-market offering" and disclosed their first quarter results, even though those had previously been scheduled to release on June 11.

The Downsides

Although GameStop adding a few billion dollars to the balance sheet is extremely bullish for the long-term outlook of the company, that doesn't mean it didn't come without downsides. Once the current share offering is completed, the result will be a combined 120 million new shares sold into the market, representing an almost 40% dilution. This obviously adds liquidity to the stock, which is upsetting to many because we spent 3 years DRSing at least 75 million shares, which had resulted in GME becoming very illiquid. In particular, I feel the need to call into question the timing of the second share offering, as that is what bothers me the most. Going into Friday, it really looked like that run had legs, and there was a ton of hype in anticipation of Roaring Kitty's stream. GameStop chose to announce the share offering before pre-market trading on Friday morning, and by market open the price of the stock had fallen dramatically. This resulted in a huge loss of call premium in GME, on a Friday, and the same day as Roaring Kitty's livestream no less. Call holders aside, I have to question this timing even from the perspective of the company's best interest. Could GameStop have raised more capital, with fewer shares, if they had waited until a later time/day? We can tell by the volume on Friday that something was still churning under the hood. Let's imagine the potential if they let the stock run, let Roaring Kitty do his thing, and let all of those calls expire in the money to drive the price action into next week. For me, and many of the comments I've seen, this timing is very troubling.

GameStop vs Roaring Kitty?

The interpretations of Roaring Kitty's ATM meme, his memes the morning of the first 45 million share offering (May 17), and his "Happy Birthday from GameStop" comment in his livestream yesterday are still being debated. To me, his memes the morning of May 17 seemed negative. He posted a crying meme face under the Kitty mask, and the first meme of that morning was the only one off-schedule that entire week. His birthday comment yesterday also seemed like blatant sarcasm to me "wrap it up in a gift or some shit". Thus, I personally think these offerings surprised him, but that is just my opinion, I could be completely wrong.
Is all of this part of some master plan that is yet to be revealed? Is each party simply acting in their own best interest? Or is there something more going on here? Unfortunately, I don't have those answers, but I feel like the question is important at this stage in the game, so I wanted to at least mention it.

MOASS

There's been some controversy lately between those that are more interested in the long-term potential of GameStop vs those who are here for MOASS. For me, it has always been about MOASS, and after MOASS of course a lot of those gains will go right back into GME. If you're in the MOASS camp with me, don't fret, I still think MOASS is very much on the table, it could even be right around the corner. There are a lot of possibilities that could play out over the next few weeks. We know something big is still churning in the stock, Roaring Kitty's 120,000 calls don't expire until June 21, and the shorts are terrified. It is very possible that the stock will start running hard as soon as GameStop lets us know that the share offering is complete.
Although it may seem that way, my main goal with this petition and post is not to criticize GameStop's recent corporate actions, as that won't really result in anything productive anyways. Instead, I want to focus on voicing my concerns about the possibility of similar actions moving forward, particularly the next few weeks. For this reason, I left all of my opinions from this post out of the petition. I tried to keep it to one simple statement that I hope most can agree with. We do not have a once in a lifetime in front of us, we have a once in history opportunity in front of us. Roaring Kitty is back, he holds 120,000, and the stock is alive. It is time for MOASS. It is time to let our voices be heard. Let the stock run.

The Petition

I created a petition through Change.org, here is the url: https://www.change.org/p/petition-to-the-gamestop-board-of-directors
Here are the contents of the petition:
Petition to the GameStop Board of Directors
I am a shareholder of GME stock, and I am petitioning the GameStop Board of Directors to not release another "at-the-market offering" or unscheduled negative press release at a pivotal moment of the next significant movement of the stock.
I want to be clear, I have no intention of seeking or taking any legal action with this petition. I will not be submitting it any court. It is simply a public, online petition that I created to let my voice be heard. I know that many shareholders have chosen to remain anonymous (myself included). If you'd like to sign it, you can sign it with your name or anonymously (I created and signed this petition with the name "Anonymous Shareholder").
If you want to sign it, but you have additional concerns, feel free to express that via the "Reasons for signing" comment section.
If you don't want to sign it, but you have your own concerns, know that you can always email GameStop's investor relations. I did.
If you do not agree with this petition and you don't want to sign it, that is perfectly ok. Please be respectful to those with concerns.

To the Longgggg crowd

I know that some of you have an investment thesis that is more interested in GameStop's long-term potential. You think GameStop will become GameShire Stopaway. I hope you're right, and you have every right to your own investment strategy. However, you have to understand that years ago many got involved in this play for MOASS. We should've been paid in January of 2021, but here we are. We still want see the shorts' demise, and we still want to be paid.

To the Master Plan / Merger Inbound crowd

I know many of you think everything is part of a master plan that has yet to be revealed. Some of you think GameStop is going to announce some kind of merger or acquisition very soon. Well, I hope you guys are right, as I would profit greatly if you are! My argument to you is that if there is already a deal that is done and yet to be announced, or a master plan already in motion, then this petition/post is not going to change that in any way. The goal of this is to simply voice concerns just in case we have fallen off the tracks. I know you're zen, but please don't just downvote this post to oblivion and scream FUD. There are other shareholders out there with concerns who may want to see it.
"Hope for the best, prepare for the worst."

My preemptive answers to the FUD accusations

I know the accusations are coming, but here's the deal, I've been here the whole time. I'm not telling anyone to sell. I'm not price anchoring. I'm not just upset because I lost money on calls. Full disclosure, I sold my call position at market open on Friday for a small profit (although I feel for any of you who didn't make it out ahead, I've been there and I feel your pain). I've held DRS shares for a long time, and I'm not leaving. Roaring Kitty's livestream was amazing. Roaring Kitty is not a market manipulator, he is the most legendary investor of all time and he simply posted his position online for the world to see. MOASS is inevitable. Ape no fight Ape. Wen Lambo.
This is not financial advice. Don't take advice or invest your money based on the speculation and ramblings of a dumb ape on the internet.

2024.06.11 00:47 looplox Entry 42: The Butcher

The Butcher was furious last time I visited the Larder. It seems that her favourite perch is still being strangled. Visit her this week, ok? Bring some treats for the little ones, you know what they like… fine. I’ll gather them for you. Honestly Nick, I don’t know why I indulge you so much.” - Mabel
How inhabitants treat animals in Raifee Wood is not unlike how humans tend to regard animals: As pets, as nuisances, as resources and so forth. The Butcher is an exception, with seemingly no such pretences and a strong preference for the company of animals. Specifically, she lives with a large colony of red-backed shrikes that inhabit a thorny cluster of bushes and trees in the north of the woods. We’ve named this territory the Larder for reasons that will be apparent later.
Similarly to the area around the Blightswell’s den, rangers are advised not to enter the Larder since its residents are highly territorial- we have marked it out on our main map but it would be hard to step into by mistake. You should only enter when the Larder requires maintenance. This usually happens every two months but can be more frequent during the summer when the vegetation around the forest regrows more quickly. Smother-root is a blight on Raifee Wood- the fast-growing plant overgrows and kills other vegetation, and is dangerous to remove. It can be identified by its five-pointed leaves and hairy stems, streaked with red veins. Mabel has told us that when the plant was first noticed, she led a month-long effort with the Rangers to obliterate the smother-root. This was mostly successful but due to the dense, tangled nature of the Larder, it persists there, cropping up periodically. Neither the Butcher nor the shrikes can remove it so they begrudgingly allow us in to do so. Despite relying on us for this task, the Butcher hardly makes this easy for us- while intelligent enough to hold a conversation, she is for lack of a better word, animalistic. Impatient, territorial and bloodthirsty, she is easy to aggravate and hard to reason with.
You’re likely to get a few cuts and scratches in the Larder, so to minimise this, wear a long-sleeved shirt and trousers. In the staff wardrobe, there should also be a leather jacket you can wear- it was Nikita’s, he arrived with it on and we’re all very grateful for it. Before you leave, grab the gardening gloves, an empty hemp sack and the sickle from the equipment cabinet. Find the glass jar containing brown pastilles and take two. We’ll let Mabel know the day you’re planning to head out, and she will leave a knotted sack next to the cottage fence for you to collect. Keep the sack shut and ignore the noises. And the wriggling.
  1. The Larder is quite far north from the cottage and will take you just under an hour to reach on foot. Try to arrive just before dusk. The Butcher is mostly active during the day, so if you arrive later she will be worn out and easier to handle. However, if it is too dark, you won't be able to navigate the Larder safely. If you are unsure, arrive early and wait until you see the shrikes around the border settle and grow quiet.
  2. The border of the Larder is marked by a low barrier of thorny bushes that you will need to step over to enter. However, before you do so, approach the border and kneel down. Put the sack in front of you but keep it closed. Lower your head. Eventually, you should feel one or two of the shrikes land on you for an inspection. Stay calm and still. You are not there to challenge them, but you cannot give the impression that you're prey either.
  3. When the inspectors get off you, they will land at a specific point at the border and wait. You must enter the Larder at that spot. Do not stomp down the bushes to get over them or choose an entry point that the shrikes haven’t selected for you: This will be regarded as immensely disrespectful, and the birds who oversee the outer area of the Larder will swarm, trying to knock you over so that you land directly in the bushes. Step clear over the barrier and avoid touching it at all. If you do get a scratch which breaks the skin, consume one of the brown pastilles immediately. The border's thorns are laced with a poisonous substance that causes disorientation and hallucinations- it makes the unfortunate animals who touch it easy prey for the shrikes and it is strong enough to work on humans too. The toxin is fast-acting but if you take a pastille immediately, you should be fine.
  4. Once you are in the Larder, begin to walk inwards. Your goal is to reach the hawthorn tree which sits in the middle of the Larder. It grows abnormally tall, with thick branches that are uncharacteristic of the other hawthorns in Raifee Wood. Take your time, since almost all of the vegetation in the Larder has very sharp thorns. Unlike the ones at the border, these plants are not poisonous, but if you are too bloody by the time you reach the Butcher, the scent of your blood may trigger her predatory instincts.
  5. If you see any smother-root during your walk attached to bushes and trees, rip it off using the gloves and put it in the empty hemp sack. However, if you see an animal, including a shrike covered in smother-root, you need to get rid of both. Usually, the animal is long dead, but if they’re still alive, use either the sickle or a firm stomp to put them down. It may seem brutal, but you are sparing them from a much crueller death down the line. The shrikes won't take offence if you kill one of their own in this way either- they've all seen what the plant can do.
  6. As you walk through the Larder, you will notice a number of creatures impaled on the thorny branches of the trees and bushes. In the outer areas these will be small creatures such as frogs, mice, sprites and pucklings, but the further you progress, the larger the prey will be. In the innermost area, you can anticipate deer, foxes and occasionally, humans. Don’t touch any of the impaled creatures, since it will be perceived as you trying to ‘steal’ them. For smaller creatures, this will earn you a nasty peck on the hand, but if you dare to touch one of the larger kills, the shrikes will call for the Butcher to deal with you. This rule stands even if the creatures are still alive and twitching. Freeing the impaled creatures would be pointless- the shrikes and Butcher both favour neck injuries to subdue their prey so the majority are partially if not fully paralysed.
  7. When you reach the hawthorn, you will notice the Butcher sitting in it. She is easy to spot, being the size of a lion. Her body is a giant shrike's, but her face is mostly that of a human woman with cold black eyes and pale skin, stained by her most recent meal. When you find her, kneel as you did at the beginning but do not duck your head. Tell her clearly that you have been sent by Mabel to remove the smother-root, and that you have brought a meal for her.
  8. When speaking to the Butcher do not appear frightened, weak or anxious. Body language and tone of voice are essential here. If she is taking a while to decide or seems as if she is about to pounce, firmly tell her that the meal you brought will likely expire soon. This should compel her to focus on the sack rather than you. You will know that you are safe (for the time being) when she asks for you to release the meal.
  9. When she asks for you to release the meal, untie the sack and stand back. It will contain several live mice and rats (Mabel has suggested that we could set up traps to catch them ourselves, but we’ve managed to avoid it thus far) plus a larger animal for the Butcher- usually a rabbit or pheasant. The majority will immediately run out, triggering the hunt. Make sure to shake the bag in case any of the animals are still inside. If you pick up the sack later to leave and the Butcher notices movement, she will pounce on you to retrieve the remaining tribute. Even if she doesn't mean to, the force of this attack will likely break several of your bones.
  10. Once the Butcher and birds have taken off to hunt, you can start to remove the smother-root from the hawthorn. Use the sickle to divide each climber into tearable segments and rip them off the tree using the gardening gloves. You must wear the gloves while handling smother-root, since if it comes into contact with living flesh, it adheres very tightly. A human is strong and dextrous enough to rip it off, but the majority of animals and even some inhabitants aren't as fortunate. If you do end up touching the root, rip it off as soon as possible.
  11. If you have to pull a piece of smother-root off your skin you will notice that the prickly hairs of the vines have left behind several tiny punctures. When you get back to the cottage, use the green gel in the medicine cabinet to treat them- the pot has a drawing of smother-root on it so it's easy to find. Cover every puncture liberally, and leave the gel until it hardens. Don’t remove the gel or wash it off for at least 24 hours. The smother-root uses its hairs to plant seeds into animals, using their bodies as incubators and fertiliser for the saplings. If left untreated, the saplings will painfully erupt from the host body a few days after being implanted, usually killing them in the process. The green gel smothers the saplings, killing them before they can grow. After three days, the gel will peel off on its own, pulling out the dead seeds too.
  12. Giving the Butcher a live meal keeps her occupied while you are removing the smother-root. She enjoys stringing out the hunt so you'll have at least 40 minutes before the Butcher returns to perch on the hawthorn where she’ll skewer her meal. This is usually enough time to remove most, if not all, of the smother-root on the hawthorn. Once she’s returned you can continue to work, but you must wrap things up within the next 10 minutes- having the Butcher's full attention is never a good thing. If you hear a scraping noise, this is the clearest sign that you should leave: It is the sound of the Butcher cleaning her teeth with a talon, which she normally does if she is considering having another meal. If you aren't finished, prioritise removing the biggest chunks of smother-root and leave within the timeframe. If she feels it wasn’t sufficient, she will just ask for Mabel to send someone out again next week.
  13. If you finish while the Butcher is still away from her tree, wait by it until she returns. If you are wandering through the woods during her hunt, you will almost certainly catch her attention as a large moving target.
  14. When you are ready to leave, tie the sack containing the smother-root firmly and collect the empty prey sack. Inform the Butcher that you have finished and will be leaving. If you couldn’t clear most of the smother-root, she will rather curtly dismiss you, but she usually thanks the rangers who did a decent job. I think despite how difficult she makes our visits, there is a part of her that is grateful and she knows how important those words can be for humans.
  15. Very rarely, usually when a ranger has done a thorough job clearing the smother-root, she will offer a ‘present’- a freshly torn-off morsel of the larger animal you brought with you. The good news is that this means she likes you, and will make future visits a little easier, possibly even having the shrikes guide you safely through the Larder. The bad news is that she expects you to eat it, there and then. My best advice is to use your water canteen to wash it down. Once you’re away from the Larder, try to induce vomiting and when you return of the cottage, find the blue bottle in the medicine cabinet containing large black seeds. Swallow two, and you should be safe from any parasites in the raw meat.
  16. Leaving the Larder is the same as entering it, although you’ll want to get out fairly quickly since the Butcher will grow aggravated if you poke around too much. You can exit the Larder from any point, but make sure to step clean over the barrier (as before, if you get scratched, ingest a brown pastille).
  17. When you arrive back at the cottage, put the whole smother-root sack in the firepit. Set it on fire, and keep the fire burning until the whole thing is reduced to ash.

2024.06.11 00:27 RevolutionaryMind1 Terrible first home buying experience

A part of me wants to rant, but I would also love some advice where to go from here.
Timeline of events
  1. Had an offer accepted on a property post auction for a property that passed in. Didn't bid at auction as the agent refused to allow us to do a building and pest inspection prior to the auction. Claimed "would take too much time to allow every interested buyer to do that"/
  2. Our own building and pest inspection after offer accepted found several major issues (hence why they probably didn't allow an inspection prior). Negotiated a 30k price down "in principle". Seller's solicitor yet to sign the deed of variation to formalise it. Without this deed of variation I can't get my finance sorted.
  3. Advised on the 4th of June by my solicitor that the initial contract was invalid as the seller's Power of Attorney (POA) signed the contract without the correct POA form. So a new contract date should be 4th of June (1 week later than initial). Seller's solicitor is not giving prompt replies to this situation and the new contract dates.
  4. 2 days ago my solicitor e-mails me saying on the rates notice there is a "show cause" notice and "enforcement notice" on the property. Basically meaning council has become aware of likely unapproved building works. Luckily, there is a clause in the QLD standard contract allowing me to pull out if those notices are found. From my investigations looking at old phoots, it looks like they added/removed some internal walls and built in underneath (which was previously not a habitable area) and this was possible done without approvals.
  5. Council won't give us any information of the above notices other than "it spans multiple teams" ... i..e likely is major. We need to submit an application to council for more information which can take 25 days to come back.
  6. Solicitor advised me we can't do much until the 25 days is over. Note that is after the unconditional period, but the clause allows us to terminate any time before settlement.
So we are in limbo now. Can't terminate. Can't look for a new house to buy. I NEED to buy before January due to some personal circumstances which may affect our borrowing capacity for 2 year as I undergo some further training in my line of work (but will not affect being able to pay off the loan as I have sufficient savings to pay off the loan just from the savings in the back for the 2 years).
My lease renewal for our rental is up now too (expires August 5th). So I will likely have to re-sign the new 12 month lease (they won't offer 6 months).
I have asked my solicitor to find a way to terminate but they seem to want to play it safe and get all the info before we are able to.
EDIT: Update - received new advice from solicitor. We will need to wait the up to 25 days to see if the rates notice and the show cause and enforcement notice on it are current or historical before we can pull out (if current).

2024.06.11 00:20 FuzzyFeed7886 Should i start a YouTube channel about my life? (people might relate to it)

So, I’m a 20F from Portugal and throughout my life, I’ve started a few studygrams but have never really carried on with any of them. I have ADHD and my life has always been sort of a mess if you look at it from an external perspective.
When I went to high school I followed the Arts path and three months later changed to the Humanities path. Then school got boring and I went to Denmark for 3 months as an exchange student. I finished HS with a 17.4 out of 20 GPA. When we’re in high school we have to take exams to get into college, it can be only one if we want, we can also take all of them. I took one of Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences. When i got to college I chose a degree in marketing and advertising which makes total sense if you look at my life and I loved it. Until I didn’t. I quit the degree in my 3rd semester with a 17.2 GPA to pursue one in Political Sciences, so I started studying History to take a final exam and hopefully get into college. Eventually, i realised though I loooveee politics, i could never be one, i’m too empathetic, so I decided I’d go to Psychology. The thing is, taking a degree in Psychology wasn’t something I really wanted, it was just something i was interested in, but because i need to take a degree and that one is the one I’m interested in the most, that’s what i’m taking. The exam i took during HS, the Math one had an expiration date of 5 years (so i thought) and it was the one required to get into Psychology. Last week I learned that my exam actually had an expiration date of 3 years and my world fell apart. Without that exam I couldn’t go to college, I the next years the uni requirements are changing and there’s no way I’d get in next year. So I cried and barely slept that night. I also realised i actually wanted to take psychology, I think it has everything to do with me and at least I’d get to learn more about ADHD yk. So i woke up the next morning and decided to apply for the goddamn exam, i was not gonna quit so easily.
So now I’m 15 days away from my exam and i have to get a nearly perfect score in order to get into the university i want, which is the only one where i live and happens to be the hardest one to get in the whole country. But then, i realised that university was not quite the one i wanted because they kinda focus on organisational psychology and HR and i wanted a degree where i could learn about different types of psychology so i could choose wisely what master’s degree to pursue. And now i’m again in this loophole where i don’t know what to do with my life, the hard one to get in is public and so it’s great and not expensive. The other one is private and i could easily get a merit scholarship, but it’s still more expensive than the first. With this said, i feel like my life is a blank page right now, i can’t control my life, i can’t make plans because there’s always a plot twist around the corner to get me. Do you guys think it’s a good idea to start a YouTube channel about my life? About not being able to control things and that it's fine if we dont, let's just live things as they are and see where they lead us. Also, knowing that I'll start a psychology degree, it would give new perspectives on how to talk about these topics.
I think all summed up, what i want to know is if you guys think, it's worth it to create a youtube channel where i tell people about my messy and not perfect at all life and that they are not alone, and that in every plot twist there's a door ready to be opened, because i know there are more pople like me out there and i wish i knew some of them to share this part of my life, and help them feel okay that they are not always in control of life, sometimes it's a blank page and it's okay.
Should i do it? I'd do it in English btw.
P.S.: I've thought about plenty of topics I could talk about and I think it would make total sense, but idk, I'm just insecure that I actually makes no sense.
