Near Death Experience

2011.01.28 03:43 Gwelymernan Near Death Experience

An NDE is a hyper-lucid experience associated with perceived consciousness apart from the body occurring at the time of actual or threatened imminent death. Overwhelmingly, those who report NDEs think of them as a "spiritual" experience (a small percentage do not). NDEs may be discussed here from a spiritual or a scientific viewpoint. Scholarly debate is allowed if it's civil. Spirituality discussion is allowed since most NDErs consider it a spiritual event, themselves.

2024.05.21 12:08 PerryWhitmire84 As I got on the elevator, the man getting off whispered something strange to me.

“Don’t get off until you hit the ninth floor. No exceptions.”
“But my interview is on 5,” I replied.
“I’ll only say this only one more time. Don’t get off until you hit 9th. No other floor is safe.”
It’s crazy but something about the way he said it penetrated my skull. He was serious. And, he looked nervous, like he had to fight every instinct in his body to say that to me.
The doors closed, while I thought to myself - who the fuck says anything like that?
As I went to hit the button for the fifth floor, some anxiety came over me. I shook it off and pressed it. The guy was probably just off his rockers.
The elevator went up. I scanned my surroundings - a TV bolted to the top corner of the elevator (playing the weather channel), a mirror for the back-wall of the elevator, and some cozy lounge-style music playing. Pretty standard stuff.
“Now arriving at the 5th floor.”
Weird - not sure if I’d ever been in an elevator that announced each floor it was arriving at. I was sure that if I worked in this building, this would get pretty old quickly.
DING!
The doors opened on 5. In front of me was a reception area with a woman seated at the front desk. She stood up from her seat.
“Mr. Davis! You’re early!”
The gentleman’s warning from earlier played in my head.
“We’ll be ready for your interview in a few moments. In the meantime, please feel free to take a seat.”
“Uh, thank you,” I responded. “If I’m, uh, early, maybe I can come back in a few minutes?”
“Nonsense! We’ll see if we can speed things up. He’s been very excited to meet you.”
The elevator doors started closing. I held them open. I wasn’t sure what to do here, but everything seemed fine enough. Granted, the receptionist did seem a bit eager, but beyond that…
From my vantage point, I scanned the office space behind the front desk area. All looked normal - cubicles, folks clicking away at their computer, a kitchen area. Pretty unremarkable.
That is, except for the portrait off at the far end of the office floor. It was very large. I couldn’t tell what the picture was of, but I did see a group of employees staring at it… almost, admiring it?
“Your wife’s name is Meredith, right?”
I froze as the receptionist’s question shot a dart right through me. I didn’t remember the job application form ever asking for my wife’s name.
“You two are thinking of having children, right? If it’s a boy, you want to name him Sam?”
What. The. Fuck? Forget that she was right on the money, this was something I’d never spoken about before to anyone, including my wife.
Before I could answer, the office workers surrounding the large portrait started singing the Happy Birthday song loudly, in complete and perfect unison. Someone brought out a birthday cake and presented it to the portrait. A portrait that, after a bit of squinting, I realized was a very large version of my highschool yearbook photo.
I backed into the elevator, and pressed the “close door” button. I panicked as it took its sweet time to register.
Press. Press. Press. Come the fuck on.
After what felt like an eternity, the doors started closing. As they closed, I heard the receptionist -
“I’m so curious to know what your insides taste like, Michael.”
Fuck. Me.
Ninth floor. I needed to go to the ninth floor.
I found the 9th floor button and pressed it. It felt like it didn’t register my push, so I pressed the button again. And again. Come on, come on, come on, ninth fucking floor. I tried again and again, but nothing was happening.
Fuck it. I’ll go back to the ground floor, I thought to myself. Back to the start.
As I went to press the ‘G’ button, I realized it was missing. Just that one singular button gone. Fuck.
I was getting claustrophobic. I took in deep breaths to prevent myself from having a full blown episode.
The elevator started moving up again. A panel above the elevator doors lit up with the following number: 11.
Someone was calling the elevator?
I started talking to myself to self-soothe. “It’s okay, someone will call the 9th floor soon. That’s where I’ll get off.”
As the elevator approached its new destination, I noticed that the background lounge music in the elevator had changed. It was now an instrumental arrangement of “Happy Birthday”. Huh. Not sure why this thing thought it was my birthday.
I glanced at the weather report on the TV. At least it was going to be sunny all week! Silver linings.
“Now arriving at the 11th floor.” DING!
The doors opened, I hung around the inside corner of the elevator beside the buttons. No need to have another nightmare-ish experience, right?
An old woman stepped onto the elevator.
Great, I’m sure this will be easy to explain to her.
She smiled at me, as the doors closed.
With a lump in my throat, I asked – “What floor?”
“Ground floor please.”
“Uh, I’m sorry ma’am but that button is missing. Maybe we could wait until someone calls us to the 9th floor?”
“9th? No, I think I’ll just go to the 2nd floor instead, then.”
She went to press the button.
“Ma’am, I don’t think it’d be safe to–”
“I have plenty of friends on the 2nd floor. It’ll be okay.”
Aaaaaaand she pressed it. I didn’t feel comfortable cornering an elderly stranger in a seemingly haunted elevator. But I tried again to convince her –
“I know this sounds weird, but I have it under good authority that the 2nd floor probably isn’t safe. I’d strongly recommend not getting off until we reach 9.”
She smiled.
“Dear, it’ll be alright. You know, I like to take all opportunities that are given to me. It’s… a shame that you turned your opportunity down. I know the folks on 5 are very disappointed.”
I backed up into the corner of the elevator.
I saw the reflection of the old lady in the elevator’s back mirror. She looked ghastly. Otherworldly.
“Now arriving at the 2nd floor.”
The doors opened. She smiled at me again, and then exited.
I poked my head around the corner to look at the 2nd floor. It was damp. It looked old. More like a cave than an office. I heard a low rumble.
A man dressed in a fancy suit approached the elevator doors and held them open before they could close.
“You getting off here too, champ? I heard that 5 wanted you. I think we can give you a better offer.”
“I’m good.”
“You sure, bud? The salary is eight hundred thousand dollars every hour.”
“I’m good.”
“I’m kidding bud. The salary is we remove your eyes so you don’t have to see him.”
The floor went pitch black. The low rumble got much louder and started reverberating in my ears. Suddenly, the businessman grabbed me by the collar and tried to pull me out of the elevator.
I clung onto the ends of it. Fuck. Fuck!
I started kicking and headbutting him. I was able to make him let go of me momentarily, as I desperately pressed on the “close doors” button. Miraculously, the elevator responded much quicker this time and they closed immediately.
I tried the 9th floor button again. Didn’t work. I pressed 8 instead. Anything to get away from this hell-hole of a floor.
I heard a loud banging on the door as the elevator started taking off. Like an aggressive knock.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
As I saw the floor numbers rising -
3… 4… 5…
The banging continued. Just as loud. What the fuck?
6th floor… 7th floor…
The banging on the door didn’t subside.
“Now arriving at the 8th flo–”
I pressed the button for the 23rd floor. Just as we arrived on 8, I mashed the “close doors” button just as the elevator doors were about to open. The banging continued as the elevator doors started denting.
The elevator continued going up.
9…
10…
11…
The banging softened.
14…
15…
And softened.
19…
20…
21…
And disappeared.
“Now arriving at the 23rd floor.”
It was gone. Thank fucking god.
I exhaled. It felt like I’d narrowly avoided disaster.
The doors opened.
I scanned the new floor, and I realized… I was back on the ground floor. That’s what it looked like, anyways. Did I escape? Was I finally free?
A man stood not-too-far from the door. He looked familiar, but I couldn’t exactly place him.
“Hey man,” he spoke.
Was this the guy who got off the elevator just as I got on?
“...hey.”
“It’s over man. You got out,” he told me.
I felt a wave of relief wash over me… but I had to fight it.
“But you said the 9th floor was the only safe one, right?”
“That was a trick. You followed your gut and you were right. 23rd floor. The real safe floor. You can step out now, man.”
I didn’t leave.
“There’s someone here who really wants to see you.”
I couldn’t move.
“He wants to give you a job. He thinks you’re gonna be great.”
Why the fuck couldn’t I move?
“He’s in the other room. I’m gonna fetch him, okay? All you have to do is look at him. It’ll feel a bit weird at first, but then it’ll all be okay. It’s a permanent position. Great benefits. It is fully onsite, but, no better birthday present than a new job, right?”
I lowered my gaze to the floor. I forced myself to mutter the following words - “It’s not my fucking birthday.”
As he left to fetch… whoever he was meaning to fetch, he gave me the following response: “Relax, man. No cursing on the job. We’re a family here.”
It felt like I could only move a centimeter at a time. A true snail’s pace. I inched my finger closer and closer to the “close door” button.
I heard footsteps. He was coming back.
With every fiber of my being, I pushed through. I hit the button.
The doors closed, and I collapsed to the floor… free from whatever weird force was stopping me from moving.
“I’ll let you two talk more on the elevator,” I heard him say from outside the doors.
What?
Instinctively, I looked around.
To my surprise, there was nothing. The elevator was the same as it had always been.
A lengthy exhale. I was done with all of this. At this point, I would’ve taken death over continuing this bullshit any longer.
As I pondered my next move in this hopeless situation, I noticed something strange. The button to the 9th floor was lit up. An ominous, crimson-red color.
Before I could do anything else, my phone started ringing. I checked the call.
It was my wife.
I answered.
“Babe. Fuck, I don’t know why I didn’t even think to call you - I’m trapped in an elevator and fucked up shit is happening and maybe I should call the cops? Fuck I–”
“Hun. Don’t go to the ninth floor.”
“What? W-wait, how do you even–”
“It’s a trick, honey. You have to trust me. The man from before was lying to you. It’s not safe.”
None of this has been safe! How do you even know everything that’s happening?!”
“You just need to trust me, hun.”
I paused.
“So what do you want me to do then?”
A demon on the other side of the phone answered this time.
“GO TO YOUR INTERVIEW.”
I hung up the call and in a panic, I mashed on the 9th floor button. The elevator started rising again.
Even with me hanging up the call, the muffled sound of the demonic voice coming from my phone continued.
“GO TO YOUR INTERVIEW.
GO TO YOUR INTERVIEW.
GO TO YOUR INTERVIEW.”
I pulled out my phone and flung it to the ground as hard as I could. I stomped on it angrily. The warped sound of “GO TO YOUR INTERVIEW” slowly started dying out.
But suddenly, the elevator started shaking. It was continuing to go up… but it was faster than usual. Really, really fucking fast all of a sudden. Almost like the 9th floor was now way below me.
It felt like an amusement park ride with no breaks on it. Loose. Dangerous. Flinging up at an insane speed, almost as if it was falling upwards.
“But I pressed nine?!” I screamed to myself, exasperated.
It didn’t matter.
“Now arriving at the 41st floor.”
God, what the fuck?
I was brought to my knees by the speed of the elevator traveling faster and faster.
“Now arriving at the 90th floor.”
The buttons didn’t even go past 52.
“Now arriving at the 141st floor.”
Fuck.
“Now arriving at the 230th floor.”
“Now arriving at the 401st floor.”
I felt like I was inside a bullet. The pleasant voice of the elevator lady was getting deeper and deeper as we rose.
“Now arriving at the 840th floor.”
The voice started croaking. A demonic sound this time –
“Now arriving at SOMEWHERE NICE.
A sudden halt. The elevator stopped. The doors didn’t open though. The panel above the elevator doors had no indication on what floor we were on.
As I sat, I heard what could be best described as the sounds of hell coming from outside the elevator. Low grunts of pain. Crackling. A dark hymn.
Was this where I was supposed to get off?
Before I could ponder the question further, I heard a soft tapping on the elevator. A voice from outside –
“Do you want to trade?” said the voice.
I decided to bite, for reasons I still don’t fully understand.
“What do you mean?”
“What if you stay on this floor forever, and I get to go home?”
“Uhm. I, uh, think I’m good…”
“But I really want to go home.”
It almost sounded like the voice of a kid. Fucking hell.
“I-I’m sorry, kid,” I mustered back.
“It’s okay.”
An awkward silence between us.
“He told me that he wants to wish you a Happy Birthday,” said the kid.
“I, uh… think he’s got it wrong. Today isn’t my birthday.”
“It is,” he responded. “It’s the first day of your new life. Your birthday.”
…?
“He wants you to look at the TV.”
What?
I looked at the TV in the top corner of the elevator, hoping to see the one constant I’d had during this whole cursed trip - the weather.
Instead, the TV was now showcasing what looked to be CCTV footage. Grainy footage from a camera… of the exact elevator I was in. A live feed of this exact moment.
Except, the TV showed me lying down. Looking up with a wide smile on my face.
And something above me on the ceiling. Looking straight down at me.
Him.
The lights in the elevator went off. The elevator plummeted downwards, as I closed my eyes and screamed for dear fucking life.
I waited for the impact.
For what I knew was my demise.
Here it comes.
Here it fucking comes.
I’m not ready.
I’m not ready at all.
“Now arriving at the 9th floor.”
DING!
The doors opened.
Wait, what?
9th floor?
I peeked out from the elevator.
Another reception desk.
Wait, is this really the -
I was interrupted by a voice from the outside.
“You coming out or what you fucking moron?”
I got to my feet. The feeling of distrust… anxiety, whatever you’d call it. My fear intuition. It was gone.
I felt light.
Fuck it.
I stepped onto the floor and approached the counter.
The receptionist handed me what looked like a button for the elevator.
“For the ground floor,” she said. “Single use only.”
I took it and headed towards the elevator.
Then, I turned back to face her.
“Can I maybe take the stairs?”
She shook her head.
“If you didn’t like the elevator, then you’re really not gonna like the stairs.”
Fair enough.
I got into the elevator.
I said a silent prayer to myself as I put the button where it belonged.
It fit without any issue.
I pressed it, and the elevator went down. It was a smooth ride.
“Now arriving at the ground floor.”
DING!
As I got ready to exit, I realized that the ground floor button was missing once again. Strange. I didn’t linger on it.
I marched out, ready to get the fuck out of this building.
I noticed a woman running onto the elevator. I tried to stop her, but something in my body wouldn’t let me.
The most I could muster was putting my hand on the door to relay a message to her before the doors closed.
“Don’t get off until you reach the 9th floor. No matter what.”
The woman just smiled at me.
“Happy Birthday Michael.”

2024.05.21 12:08 Recent-Management-61 AITHAH for not believing the reasons I was given during a break up...

Throwaway here
Up until a few days ago I (39m) was dating/just establishing a relationship with a single mother (41f). We have been seeing each other for just over 2 months. Not a long time I know but the ease in which we connected really felt very unique and different than past relationships. A fact she acknowledged more than once. We share similar perspectives, find enjoyment in many of the same things, equally dorky and awkward. We really felt in sync.
I know the intensity of feelings I felt towards her were disproportionate, in a typical sense, to the amount of time we spent/knew each other. When speaking with friends I even said it was stupid I felt this strength of connection so quickly. I know it's easy to think I was naive or seeing things that weren't there, but I am confident that's not the case. There were real reciprocation of feelings and intensity in moments that we both identified. I think I communicate well, I am clear, and understanding, and a good listener. She really appreciated this quality and as such was very open and clear about her feelings towards me as well. Saying things like how she's never dated someone like me (I've been through some shit, did therapy, became pretty emotionally intelligent and self-reflective as a result), telling me how appreciative she is for me, gave me a card stating this on the day she started to pull back actually, how my touch gives her tingles. Straight up telling me a week before how she really likes me.
Yes we were intimate a few times. Intense and mutually satisfying, had improtu spicy chats during the day including the day before we last saw each other. On top of her words and discussions there were actions that also spoke to her really being serious about the connection we were developing. She happens to live right next to her parents and her sisters family. Now she could have kept me separate from all that, but she didn't. I met her sister pretty early on when having a date night at her house. Then a week later she invites me to her sister's house for a little BBQ, was an excellent night. And I ended up meeting her parents too. Not by happenstance either, but rather here come inside my parents house and say hello. And she was having conversations with her son about me and trying to get him comfortable with the idea of meeting me. I even helped her move appliances with her and her dad 3 days before the pull back and 1 week before she ended it. I even installed the washer and dryer for her, then encouraged her to go to an event for her son right after I got done, without me. I didn't do it for any other reason than I really liked her and acts of service are one of the ways I show how I care and it made me feel good to do it, to be there for her. This all has a certain connotation or level of seriousness in a relationship all in its own.
My emotions fed off of her words and actions, maybe my openness and honesty felt like a bit much at times, like I was oversharing. But it was honest and reciprocated every time. There were palpable moments of electricity between us.
Then came the pull back...she is a nurse who works 12 hour shifts and has shared custody of her son. I work a typical m-f schedule. So as we are building this whatever it was, spending time together was a challenge sometimes. I completely respect her keeping me separate from her son until the time was right, never pushed, always accepted that her role as a mother comes first.
So she asks me if I want to do dinner at my house for this past Tuesday. Tuesday is my golf night, but I made an effort to go to work early, leave early, get my match done early so we can have a nice evening. I even took the morning off in case we were up late, so we could maybe wake up next to each other and enjoy sometime together in the morning. She was really excited about this, or rather implied that she was. Even had the spicy talk the day before.
Then she arrives and I can tell something is off. Shes not as receptive to my touch, dynamic is off. After dinner we sit on the couch and she breaks down in tears. She's feeling like we are moving fast, she feels like our texting is taking away from time with her son, wants to dial it back. She has her son for a 5 day stint starting the next day, doesn't want to feel tethered to her phone, wants to feel present. Okay, I get it, respect it, no problem at all. She then tells me about how her divorce went down, kind of wild and not exactly how she made it seem at first. She definitely still is working through that stuff and the ex dynamic is poor and I think he bullies her and knows her buttons. I straight up told her that if I was her partner I would be there and defend her and not let his bullshit slide (maturely, I'm 40 and don't need to be physical). She did say a few times that she was always waiting for the other shoe to drop with us because of her past relationship trauma. But guys, I have no other shoe. I'm a god damn gentleman doing his best to operate in a time when women are more independent, and I support it and respect it.
I send her an email the following day apologizing if I came in to strong, I believe in what we are building, I respect boundaries and her and all her terrific attributes. She responds by saying it was beautiful and she looks forward to moving forward with me. I also suggest phone calls or Video chats in lieu of texting moving forward. And I assured her I didn't need to be in contact 24/7 and that I like my independence as well.
Over the next couple days I let her lead the conversation. If she texted I responded. Typically it wasn't immediately but within 15 minutes unless I myself was busy. I wouldn't try and engage in long discussions. Just little check ins it seemed like. Then her text style changed again, less frequent, no emoji, no real engagement from her in to my activities. I felt it coming.
She was ill over these past few days with bronchitis and was having her period, she felt cruddy and I felt bad I couldn't be there for her like I wanted to. I would ask how she was doing, if she needed anything. Her response was that I was sweet but she could manage. But she began to not ask me about what I was up to, or really engage much at all.
Saturday she ends it, says she hasn't really put all her focus on being a mom since her divorce (4 years ago), she made some relationship mistakes post divorce, still healing, really wants to be there for her son (kid sounds amazing btw). But okay, yeah I am bummed but I respect it. What else can I do right? Kid comes first, I get it.
But you know what really bothered me is that when asked about what we were felt for each other, if it was real, she denies we had this special connection and that she thinks she was forcing it....so my long winded question here is... After all that, does that sound like she was forcing it? She said she felt there was an incompatibility but couldn't identify what it was. She's sorry for leading me on, then tells me not to lose her number. Like wtf? I think she is either lying to herself to make herself feel better or there is something else going on. My hypothesis is that our potential scared her, she doesn't want to get big time hurt again and is anxious about it and somebody put the bug in her ear that the feelings she is having is because she is forcing it (she mentioned a comment a coworker made to this extent about it being forced because she wasnt as giddy as she had been, I think she was fearful and this person labeled it as force). I say this because it all doesn't make sense, I am probably wrong, help me make sense of this, please.
Tl;Dr built a wicked connection with a woman, have evidence it wasn't one sided, special connection, met her parents, installed her appliances, got dumped a week later and was told it wasn't real but forced.

2024.05.21 12:07 SnooPandas4016 Boiling with rage

I'm having a moment so I need to get it out here before I get on with my day.
I co-own a house with my ex, he was incredibly mentally abusive and I'm fairly sure he's a narcissist and a year ago, despite half owning our house, I packed up my stuff and left. I got legal advice and got counselling, he moved on within about 3 months (we were engaged and had been together 5 years) to a co-worker (a subordinate no less).
I got tons of abusive messages from him playing with my head after I left. I tried to explain my side then soon realised that it was pointless, it had never worked and never would because it was all games. The straw that broke the camels back was when he found out I'd gone to the police about his behaviour after he followed me relentlessly around our house and refused to let me sleep.
So we're in the middle of a legal problem with our house which prevents us from selling, and I am SICK TO DEATH of his attitude, overly formal/nice but with this weird tinge of arrogance and hatred, a bit like dog whistling if you know what I mean. He just puts on this super sweet act as though he is the nicest person in the world, but it has this air of "i'm above it all" about it.
This morning he's emailed me about a payment I've refused to make to him until I get receipt of the goods, and he's all "well i'll accept your conditions if there's a witness" and I've just said I don't give a flying eff if you accept my conditions or not, it's happening. He's all "I just want to make this amicable so I don't have to deal with your irrational behaviour" and I just want to punch him straight in the face.
Has anyone else had this and how to you handle it? The only thing I'm grateful for is that i don't have to coparent with this POS.

2024.05.21 12:06 SourMushroom It would be very compassionate if Canada allowed assisted suicide

I'm a single male late 20's with a learning disability.
There is no chance I ever make enough to afford more than a rented room in a house.
Maybe if I moved far away from my mother in the lower mainland I could afford my own apartment but I don't see a point in that as she is my only valuable connection I have.
I could pick up another job but after working 40 hours a week and commuting 2 hours a day Im tired. I really dont have it in me.
Basically I just think the game sucks and isn't worth playing anymore.
My life goals aren't much, I just want to have 1 job, a used car, a dog and my own studio apartment.
Working 80 hours a week or having to live in a shared house with no privacy and roommate drama for the rest of my life just doesn't seem worth it. Id really rather not exist.
I tried to get my own apartment and even though I was more than willing to pay it they wouldn't accept me as it cost 70% of my income.
I know the government will never do anything to help my situation and it will keep getting worse, but they could at least allow assisted suicide for me and others in the same position who don't want to live like this forever.
I mean like they aren't making anything off tax revenue from me, Im sure im net negative to them after healthcare and everything. So its a win/win for both of us if they allow me quit this pointless game.

2024.05.21 12:05 Ulfgrimnirr Blood Stained Sand - The Gryllus Prime Desert

"Antony we are going down there and that's final!" Vorenus cried. Stamping his foot and glaring at the Corporal. Despite knowing the man since the fall of Cadia, he still hated him at times. "That. Is assured. Fracking annihilation down there. You know it" Antony replied, pointing at the oncoming Tau before poking Vorenus's chest.
"Well have fun then" Vorenus spat, before charging down the sand dune, keeping low as not poke over the ridge line. His squad, with Antony dead last, eventually followed suit.
The kroot pack, filled with dozens of beasts sprinting at full speed came closer. Having not spotted the Kasrkin yet they seemed completely focussed on the 1752nd camp. Vorenus spread his squad out, about 20 meters between each man and women, with himself centre. The kroot still had sometime before they reached them, and would likely run them down if they fled to the Imperial line.
"Not yet" Vorenus remarked over the vox, noticing Antony readying his gun. "We only have so much time, need to make them count" Vorenus took a deep breath. "Keep low and keep moving. Get yourself out of there if you can and back to camp. The Emperor Protects"
The squad members quietly prepared themselves for what was likely their doom, build held firm, awaiting Vorenus's call.
"Now! Bring down those beasts first!" Vorenus ordered. All 10 hot shot-lasguns cracked and fizzed as they fired on the great Krootox. They wailed, speeding up as their shots simply angered them, the riders on top often not being as lucky.
However the kroot persisted, and despite their best efforts, seemed hell bant on crashing down on the Kasrkin.
"Nice one Vorenus" Antony spat. Vorenus ignored him, simply firing instead.
The kroot began to advance up the sand dune they found themselves behind. Vorenus quickly accepted that, despite everything, this really was it.
He didn't find himself particularly moved by the realisation. Unlike some of his squad, he almost felt neutral.
Still he braced himself for the coming pain, holding his weapon and his other hand drifting to his Kasrkin tattoo.
Even as his squad began to split and scatter, as ordered to, he remained. Hoping to hold them off if need be for even a minute.
But no Kroot came, and after their roars and screeching seemed to move, Vorenus turned and peered over the dune, quickly grabbing his commbead to relay what he saw to Colonel Jensen.
The Rhoynian's had arrived.

2024.05.21 12:04 Quirky-Classroom-428 Feel so close to relapsing

All my problems are hitting me at once. My lungs are constantly aching since I've quit. I've been told I'll have to stay in this place and can't move anywhere else after receiving death threats from a psychopath (social housing in Australia). And I'm a Christian that's been having trouble with my faith and I feel so guilty about it. I've been going to the gym 5 days a week and barely see any progress... I just feel stuffed, really tweaking for that cigarette please help...

2024.05.21 12:03 Prpl_Orchid14 A bittersweet EDC TW:Sexual Assault

I contemplated writing this all day but decided it might be helpful to someone else if I shared my bittersweet EDC 2024 experience.
This year was my second year at EDC, and despite a few negative experiences sprinkled throughout, I honestly had the time of my life.
Saturday, while I was sitting on the turf mound at Basspod VIP, I was assaulted. A guy, we’ll call him Mo, had come up to where me, my wife, and my wife’s friend were sitting and started talking to my wife. They chatted briefly. Then, my wife returned to dancing, and Mo turned around talking to someone else.
A few minutes later, Mo tapped me on the shoulder and said, “You and your wife look so good together.” I replied, “Aww, thank you so much,” and returned to resume my head banging. Not even five minutes later, as I was zoned out, feeling the music and vibes, I felt something brushing against my back. It was Mo.
Now, I know it’s nearly impossible not to brush up against other people, so I try to be super tolerant and understand that most people aren’t trying to be creeps; it’s just close quarters.
But no sooner than I had moved forward a bit, I felt someone’s hand underneath my vest pouch fondling and massaging my breast. Initially, when I looked back, I was confused, but I realized that Mo was lying on his back and had reached his hand under my vest.
When I turned around like, “Wtf are you doing?” He threw his hands up and just started apologizing profusely. I tried to tell him to gtfoh and go someplace else because I didn’t feel comfortable with him behind me, but he just kept saying, “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.”
I don't know if my wife’s friend, sitting on my right, saw what happened, but I know she saw me fussing at this guy, trying to tell him to gtfoh. She didn’t say or do anything. Then, I told my wife, who had been talking with another couple, what happened, and that I had tried to ask him to go somewhere else because I didn’t feel comfortable with him behind me but that he just stayed there apologizing over and over. She asked if I wanted to switch seats with her or if I wanted her to do anything, and I just said no.
The boy was clearly faded; he had mentioned this to my wife, and I didn’t want to ruin anyone’s experience, so I just turned around and tried to shake it off. I knew this wasn’t the end, and I was ready.
Again, not even five minutes had passed, and I felt a hand grip my right shoulder. I hear Mo start saying, “I’m so sorry, I…” but before he could finish, I turned around and punched him with probably the best right hook of my life. Or maybe it just felt that way because of how good it felt watching his body reel backward and seeing the anger rise in his face as the realization that he just got socked by a 5’4” 130 lb female set in.
As soon as I punched him, his friends came rushing in, pulling him back like, “Hey, chill! Our friend is just really fucked up right now,” blah blah blah. My wife turned to see the commotion and was like, “Aye, the next time your friend puts his hands on my wife, he’s getting beat tf up.”In response, one of the friends said, “This is my wife right here, so I understand,” trying to tell us we needed to calm down. My wife told them basically, “No, y’all need to get your friend because my wife was just about to cry when your friend was groping her breasts. Do you want to put your wife between him and my wife then?”
Maybe they only saw him grab my shoulder and me socking him, but no matter how I try to justify it, there are so many things wrong with everything that happened. First, if I ever see a woman straight up punch a man TWICE her size, I’m immediately going to ask her wtf happened and if she is ok.
Second, this experience has taught me a lot. It’s been painful, mainly because it still boggles my mind that sexual assault is so quickly brushed off. I’m not expecting anyone to lay hands on someone for me, but a little solidarity would have gone a long way in that situation.
I’m annoyed it didn’t become a scene until I punched him. No one wanted to get up and stand up to this man after he sexually assaulted me in front of hundreds of people—but throw a punch and, wow, the outrage.
None of the friends asked me if I was okay or tried to take him far away from me. I understand my wife and her friend not stepping in too much in the beginning; it is a man who is bigger and likely stronger, and women are often afraid that worse will happen if they make a scene, but still. If we all stood up to him and forced him to leave after assaulting me, it would have felt a hell of a lot better than having to wait to be touched again so that I could physically handle it myself.
With that, my only request is that my fellow rave-goers, please don’t be a bystander or an enabling friend. If you see something, say something. Every conflict doesn’t have to be resolved by violence. Myself and even five other people standing up to Mo saying hey you need to leave or there’s gonna be a scene, would have likely been enough to pressure him to find somewhere else to be a creep. Instead, I had to sit with this man less than a foot behind me who had just fondled and groped my breast and waited for him to strike again to defend myself. Even after I hit him, he and his friends just stayed. Please be the friend that understands when shit has gone too far, and get your friend somewhere different if they are being a nuisance.
It’s a hollowing experience. After I punched him, though, I felt 10000000 times better. I’m saddened that that’s what it had to come to, but the actions of everyone around me indicated that handling it myself was the only option. Maybe everyone around was too fucked up to register what was happening; perhaps they thought it would be better if they minded their own business, I don’t know.
The best part, though, was that afterward, a guy with a bag of wooden fucks gave me one. He said I had zero fucks when I punched that guy, so here’s a fuck. That was genuinely the highlight of my weekend, and if anyone knows this zero fucks given guy, send him my appreciation.
Despite this interaction, I had the most incredible time for the remainder of my weekend. For this one jackass, hundreds of people were kind to me in small ways throughout the weekend. Shout out to all my Basshead headbangers and our new friends from New Mexico, Steve-O, and Alexis, who were ready to find Mo for a little ‘chat’ after we told them what happened later that day. Although we didn’t take them up on the offer, that’s the kind of showing up that I appreciate. I can’t wait to see you all underneath the electric sky again next year.
TLDR: I was groped by a stranger, no one batted an eye, then I punched him, and suddenly, I need to chill. Please don’t be a bystander. See something, say something.

2024.05.21 12:03 AAT_480 A message from LA

Incoming Kings fan; I’ve been following your team for the better part of 3 years now and much more closely ever since the Oilers yet again gave my hockey team and our fans reason to pretend that history stopped moving forward after 2014.
Given that I’m still salty as to how much the Kings crashed and burned despite such a great start to our season I was wish you all the best of luck and say how the city of Los Angeles is behind you. I despise the Oilers. Mcdavid is a terrible captain, for how good the oilers have been in years past they really have dropped the ball and I hope they do it here. Like for his zero cups and zero wins he along with the rest of the team and fans sure talk a lot of crap, literally the maple leafs of the west.
But back to you guys though: your squad is unbelievably likable. Robertson is an up and coming star (pun intended), Otter is a total stud, I still can’t get over his series in 22 vs Calgary he was on fire (another pun), Benn deserves to win a cup and Duchene also got sweet revenge vs the Avs after they victimized him on the Preds in 2022. And someone pointed this out on the Bruins subreddit but if you beat the Golden Knights, Avs, Oilers and either the Panthers or the Rangers that is the definition of earning it.
Good luck to you all, I really hope this post dosent jinx you all.

2024.05.21 12:00 JohnPoopsTV My Madness Combat Episode Ranking

This is my Madness Combat ranking. This is entirely my personal opinion. I have watched this series since around 2004 on Newgrounds, and a huge supporter of Krinkels' work. So I must point out that I do not believe a single episode is bad. I believe all of the episodes are top tier, this is just my ranking of where I think they stand out in terms of quality, length, story, music/sfx etc.. So if you see your favourite episode low down, just remember it's not bad, I just feel that there may be an episode that's better! This is also just the mainline series, so no canon shorts such as An Experiment or Dissenter, and no Dedmos Adventures. Although if I had to rank Dedmos in this list, it'd probably come 4th place, or something. This was a hard ranking, given how amazing each episode is, so having the canon shorts/spin-offs would be more difficult, given how much Krinkels' artstyle and animation has improved since Madness 11. The earlier rankings are going to be the hardest, but I will put nostalgia aside and rank based on quality and other factors.
15. Madness Combat
In last place, kind of predictable, but the first episode. Obviously just because nostalgia aside, every episode that came after it has raised the bar in so many ways. However, we mustn't forget the classic soundtrack, the lack of blood, the first canon entry of Jeb and Hank, a literal cannon - this is where it all started. It knows what it is, it's a classic. It's where Madness began.
14. Madness Redeemer
Again like before, an absolute classic and it's where I believe that Madness Combat in its current form truly began. We've got introductions of the Sheriff, The Clown, Jeb was brought back. This is also where the Tricky Saga started to take shape. Again I do feel that everything that came after it was just better in quality, but there is loads to love about Redeemer.
13. Madness Combat 7.5
May be a bit controversial, but 7.5 ranks lower. I think it's universally agreed that 7.5 is the least interesting .5 episode. It doesn't feel like it contrasts well with the zaniness and horror of Madness 7. In some capacity, I feel that you need to pair the .5's with their mainline counterparts, and this episode, whilst good, is just the opposite of Consternation. The soundtrack is also one of my least favourites. This one just felt a bit like a filler episode. It's still a great entry, especially given the time it came out, but I'd say this is the most 'run of the mill' episode pre-modern Krinkels.
12. Madness Avenger
Avenger is very much a classic. This is where the Improbability Drive was introduced and the main story started to take shape. I think Redeemer is where the violence and John Wick style animation began, but I feel the story truly jumped after Avenger. This was the second episode I ever watched and I still hold it in very high regard. I think this is the episode people think of when someone says 'Madness Combat', if you were skulking around Newgrounds back in the early 00's.
11. Madness Depredation
Depredation was the 3rd episode I ever watched. I remember seeing the thumbnail plastered everyone on flash animation websites. This is where Hank got his iconic look - this episode is just batshit crazy. If someone mentions Madness Combat and you don't think of Avenger or Consternation, then you probably remember the Depredation and onward looks. There's just so much to love here. The hard pounding soundtrack from Cheshyre let's you know that this is hardcore. Removing the nostalgia I'd say it doesn't have a lot to offer in terms of story until the very end, but man when this came out it was one of my favourites and still is, I just believe that the other episodes have a lot more to say.
10. Madness Inundation
When this first came out, it was sort of controversial, if I remember correctly. With Hank dead at the end of Consternation, I saw tons of comments and forum posts, including some from myself... is Hank coming back? Is this the end? No one really predicted that Jeb would get his own episode, and looking back, I love this episode. I wasn't a huge fan back in 2008, and I would have ranked it near the bottom just out of spite for not getting Hank. But this episode, looking at it today, is brilliant. Jeb is such a cool protagonist, being able to fly, use his powers, catch bullets, the iconic sniper rifle opening, API's soundtrack. The Magnum. I could go on, honestly. I think this is one of the highlights of the series, because at the time, we genuinely thought this was the final episode, and Krinkels' posts, or lack thereof, around that time, sort of gave the impression that this would be the case. The episode feels very much centred around doom, and the end of things as we know it, especially during normality restoration. I think this is where subtle hints surrounding the Madness universe (or Nevadean universe... maybe?) started to take shape. Thankfully, it wasn't the end. It was unfortunately, so far, the end of Jeb, which is a damn shame. I hope Krinkels reconsiders down the line, but for now, he joins the Sheriff being the only two characters to die, seemingly forever, and go to "regular Hell".
9. Madness Apotheosis
Apotheosis is the very first episode I watched back in 2004, so naturally I do have some tiny amount of bias. This is where Krinkels found his footing - quite literally. Characters now have two feet, animation is a lot smoother, another iconic bandage look from Hank following Avenger... again, before getting Depredation, similar to Inundation as well, this truly looked like the end.
8. Madness Combat 5.5
This may also be controversial. But I firmly believe 5.5 is actually better than the episode it's structured around. Again, these earlier rankings are hard as I am trying to not see it through nostalgia, but rather quality. I think 5.5 just has so much to say, the iconic opening, mixed with the soundtrack. It fits perfectly with the lore, and actually makes Depredation a much better episode. Again, the issue with Depredation is that the intro is just run of the mill, up until the mid-point and ending, which only serves, at the time, a continuation in the form of Antipathy. 5.5 is where things tied together very nicely. This is also the introduction of Sanford and Deimos who would go on to become much loved characters in the Madness canon. Given how they just seem like random grunts in Depredation (which, at the time, they likely were), Krinkels managed to give them a whole side quest, which ties in very nicely with the main story. It's also the first time where two protagonists are on screen and are actually doing something, which I'll explain later. Other than that, great episode!
7. Madness Antipathy
The sixth Madness episode is also quite the anomaly. What I failed to realise as a kid is that each episode pretty much ends on a somewhat cliffhanger, but a cliffhanger where it could continue, and it also doesn't have to. 2006 was a huge year for animated sequels, with Madness 6, Killing Spree VI and Joe Zombie: Episode 6, ironically, all the 6's. There's a few others to mention, but we'd be here all day. I love Hanks look in this episode, with his exposed jaw after being pummelled to heck by Tricky in episode 5. The stab wound with the smiley face. Just do what comes natural. Have to mention while I love Cheshyre's Trainmadness soundtrack, we also have to give a shoutout to the creepy opening music MADNEWAT, and API's fast, twitchy techno music in the first half. I mention this because Hank seems very twitchy in this episode, and I love it. It's also carried over in 9.5 too, which is nice to see. The gore is great, especially with the axe and P90 at the end, the train, Jeb working a normal job post Depredation... I think this is where Madness truly reached the point of 'crazy' and set the stage for every episode that came after it.
6. Madness Aggregation
Aggregation is the 9th episode in the Madness canon, and was certainly a surprise to see. This is Krinkels' experimental phase, and you can see it throughout the episode. It was the first episode (if I remember correctly) to have two protagonists on screen at the same time (or three, if you count dead/carried Hank). This is where my problems begin, however. You can certainly tell it was the first time, a lot of my issues with this episode center around Sanford or Deimos sort of standing around doing nothing whilst the other is causing mayhem. Apart from that though, it was nice to see them again, especially after watching the .5's years later. On rewatch, I hold it in much higher regard now that we have context for the canon. This is also where Hank is revived and would set up another event in the form of 9.5 later down the line. It is weird to see Hank as a Mag, and it's doubly sad to see that Deimos did not make it, but this episode is baller. The soundtrack as well, definitely fits the opening with our heroes driving and evading enemies. I can't pinpoint it, but the soundtrack definitely feels like a dual protagonist sound. In terms of story, it sticks very well.
5. Madness Combat 6.5
There is so much to love about 6.5. I think it's honestly the best .5 episode pre-Madness 11 era. 2009-2011 was a very experimental phase, but it definitely paid off. I just love how seamlessly 5.5 and 6.5 come together when watched one after the other, or in one big video (props to the folks who put those 'In Real-time' videos together). The wounded Sanford, the train tracks, it certainly gives a lot of context for what is going on, wordlessly. This is where they started to get their iconic looks. Whilst 7.5 didn't really offer anything substantial, 5.5 and 6.5 are truly magnificent episodes that are held in high regard. The reason I ranked 5.5 lower is that it's just to give you an idea of what's happening around Depredation and Antipathy, whereas 6.5 feels like its own episode. The soundtrack is one of my favourites too. The animation was getting more and more fluid, and given that this came out before Madness 10, it's quite amazing how much of the animation style here is carried over into the later episodes.
4. Madness Consternation
Episode 7 is one of my all-time favourites, for sure, and I think this rings true for a lot of people in the community. Even though it's not ranked at number 1, I'd still say it's among my personal favourite episodes. The soundtrack and eerie vibe of the demonic Clown gives the episode a real horror angle that I always scared me in a way, as a kid. There's also things I never noticed back in 2007, that I notice today, such as 'DISSENTER BE DAMNED' written on the walls where the spiked agents are. This is cool nowadays since 9.5 expands on retention and dissenters, so even though it may not have been intended at the time (or if it was, Krinkels was certainly quiet about it), it tells a lot without any words and fits the story very nicely. Again, it's another pick for my "this is the Hank you think about when someone mentions Madness Combat" list. There are so many. But I love Hank's ninja wraps and red goggles. I feel this is when his image improved each episode. Cheshyre's Madness7 soundtrack is close to my all time favourite, and I still blast it in the car to this day. Also, chainsaw Hank is MVP.
3. Madness Expurgation
This might be a little controversial depending on who you ask, but I think Expurgation fits nicely in 3rd place within this ranking. It's one of my favourites and is probably one of the craziest episodes to date. I think the issue I have with this episode is the lack of blood. I think Madness has always been memorable for the amount of gore, blood and ways that the enemies are killed. I don't have an issue with the black blood from the clown minions, but the gore just feels a bit lessened here, in my opinion anyway. That, however, does not stop this from being an all time great. 7 years, 7 months and 7 days, and it was well worth the wait after being teased for so long. This is truly a highpoint in the Madness canon, where things looked vulnerable in-universe. I know things have always looked shaky given how each episode ends, but seeing the Auditor all messed up and trying to make a deal with Hank and Sanford to remove the Clown, it sets up Madness Combat 12 nicely. The audio and SFX is a major improvement and would become a standard in later animations. The soundtrack, 'Expurgation', from our saviour Cheshyre is again one of the best soundtracks. It gives a sense of hopelessness, this is even more apparent when Sanford yells out in frustration when he is cornered by Tricky, but then hope is restored when Hank returns with a new metal arm, and the soundtrack hits even harder. I do feel like the fight at the end could have been a bit more interesting, and a lot could have happened, but then again, Krinkels worked on this thing for 7 years, so I'll give him a pass on that. Also love the way the episode begins with Hank and Sanford climbing down the ladder from MC10, haha. All in all, one of my favourites.
2. Madness Abrogation
I think Madness Combat 10 is easily one of the best episodes. This thing came out in 2011, but it could have come out in 2016 or something and I'd have been none the wiser. The sheer rise in quality is undeniable. Like I said before, my issues with Aggregation stem from a quality perspective, where one or more characters sort of stand around doing nothing whilst another character is off doing something. When rewatching MC9, it becomes more and more apparent and I can't unsee it. MC5.5 and 6.5 was a period of time where Krinkels was able to hash this out and I think this all came together in MC10, for sure. The animation is very expressive and fluid, there's not a single point where the protags are just standing still or doing nothing (except for when Hank is pushed into the wall by the Mag and when he pulls the lever for Sanford, but I'll give this a pass). The episode feels very alive, due in part to the expressiveness, such as Hank and Sanford playing rock paper scissors to determine who dives into The Auditor's construct first. Naturally, it's our boy Hank. And that soundtrack? Come on, it's easily my personal favourite in the whole series. I think where MC9 toned it down to suit a more slow paced episode, MC10 ramps it up where it sounds like alarms are ringing, as if to say "we've go to go, quick!", and the part of the song where a portion of Madness7 is played, followed by a remix of Crazy Clown Song of Death from MC5, truly amazing. Cheshyre did a beastly job here, and as usual, breathed some serious life into this episode. It's by far the episode I come back to the most, there is just so much to love here. Again, you'd have no idea that MC10 and MC11 are 7 years apart. I wish I could say more, and to be honest I would I could say more on ALL the episodes, but we'd be here all day. MC10 is a classic, hands down.
Madness Combat 9.5
This might've been expected, or not expected, I don't know. But MC9.5 is easily the best episode to date. I'll also be ranking both parts as one whole episode. I can't actually tell you which part I prefer the most, as it takes two of my favourite looking Hanks and puts them into the same episode. Following Dedmos and the anticipated release of MC12, I would say that this is Krinkels' magnum opus. In terms of sheer quality, the amazing sound design, and again we cannot forget how much life is pumped into these animations by Cheshyre. I'd say I prefer Part 1's soundtrack over Part 2. I think given how fast MC6 Hank is, I would be inclined to say Part 1's fast paced soundtrack fits that version of Hank the most, but that's just a personal preference.
Anyway, the most noticeable thing off the bat is the sleek, crisp art design. It's rugged, detailed, and is by far Krinkels' best work. It truly feels like a massive overhaul to the design of the characters and world around them. Again, the expressiveness is huge, such as Hank making fun of the ATP Soldat gesturing with his hand, pointing towards the eyes, and this is even more interesting because it's the first time Hank meets them chronologically. It feels very fluid, and everything looks like it has real weight to it. This is also enhanced by the amazing sound design, for a mask that drops onto the floor, or the clicking of the guns. The horror feel from MC7 is truly back here, as well. Part 2 specifically where Tricky just goes into beast mode, it very much caught me off guard. MC9.5 also gives us an interesting look at how 'the other place' works, and how the Madness universe works as a whole. It's implied when you die, you end up in this sort of purgatory hellscape, and it does all of this story telling wordlessly. Ironically, I feel that Part 1 is actually more of a 7.5 than the original 7.5, for the obvious reason that 9.5 starts after Hank is killed in MC7. So many little details in 9.5 make it feel so authentic, such as the very end when Hank is revived, and you can faintly hear gunshots in the background, the moment where Deimos is killed. I have so much more to say but again, we'll be here all day. All in all, this is by far the best MC episode to date in terms of quality, audio, story and the new art style will be one of the driving forces moving forward.
So, that's my personal ranking of Madness Combat episodes. Again, I love every single episode, so if there's a ranking you disagree with, just remember it's my personal opinion and in my head, they are all number 1. Submit your rankings, and let me know your thoughts, and where you'd rank the episodes!

2024.05.21 11:59 Dawesy182 Summer Transfer Window

I think its always good to set expectations for the transfer window prior to it starting. It is easy to sign multiple players and still want1 more on deadline day. Realistically we are going to be making huge moves but it will be a case of selling fringe players and getting replacements in who will actually form part of the squad. With this in mind I've broken it down to positions and what we need in each.
TLDR is at the bottom for summary of transfers.
GK - Sa, Bentley, King
I would be happy going into the new season with these 3. I do think a better quality back up would be good if we can get somebody on a free but I wouldn't want to spend money in this area when i feel we have others areas we need to improve more.
LB - Ait-Nouri, Bueno
Happy with both of these options and Doc and Toti can cover if we have any lack of depth. Ait-Nouri could be sold if a decent bid comes in but that amount should cover a new LB and 2 other signings which shouldn't be an issue. Ait-Nouri is key to the team and way we play though so it would need to be a substantial offer.
RB - Semedo, Doherty, Bolla, Lembikisa, Hoever
Semedo and Doherty are good options, not sure how I would feel if Semedo got injured and we were dependent on Doherty for the whole season. Hoever has done alright at Stoke and i would be happy to sell now as I don't think his mentality or ability have a place in our squad right now. Bolla has been doing well in Switzerland but at 24 and playing a back up role for us, I think it would be good to cash in on him now albeit we wont get a huge sum for him. Lembikisa has is obviously one for the future and I think loaning him out for another year would help his development and would provide a good replacement for Doherty for 2025/26 season. I would personally do a 6 month loan so we can assess in January whether we need him and if not then we can extend the loan to the end of the season.
CB - Kilman, Bueno, Dawson, Toti, Mosquera, Hubner
Happy with all the main options. Bueno hasnt been great but I think Mosquera will step into the role of back up to the starting 3. Hubner needs to be shipped off now I think. He has barely played in Japan and just seems like the club is holding onto him out of hope more than expectation. Pond is probably the next one on the ranks in the youth team, so if we have a couple of injuries, he can step onto the bench.
CM - Lemina, Gomes, Doyle, Traore, Bellegarde, Hodge, Cundle
I am happy with our options in this area. Bellegarde is in there as I really don't know his best position. He just seems to play where he can get game time. Hodge has dropped out of the team at QPR, I don't know if he will make it to our squad. I would keep him around until pre season and give a full assessment there and decide whether he needs 1 more loan to prove his worth or to sell now. Cundle I think has found his level in the championship and we need to sell now. 4/5 midfielders is good for our 2 midfield system.
Wingers - Neto, Cunha, Sarabia, Enso, Chirewa, Podence, Campbell, Chiquinho, Guedes, Little Lemina
For an area we have had a lack of depth this season, that is a lot of wingers. Guedes and Podence both need to be sold, I think we know that. Neto obviously should stay but if an offer comes in for him then he is the one saleable asset that I wouldn't mind selling. His injuries are too regular for us with the level of club we are at the moment and the money we could get from him would really him strengthen the squad. If we don't sell him then that's great but he either has a brilliant season and we get an offer that we cant refuse next summer or he gets injured again and the cycle continues. Sarabia is really good and has earned more playing time as the season has gone on. I believe he is on a decent amount of money but his experience and technically ability is a must amongst a our forward line. Cunha is obviously a keep and can also be a striker. Enso, Lemina and Chirewa are young and are not reliable yet so we could consider a loan move for them. Might be worth keeping Lemina in the squad and playing for the U21 and occasionally making the bench. The reason for this is that i assume there was a human element to the signing (as well as football ability) given the death of his father and bringing the brothers together and if that was the case i wouldn't want to loan him out yet. This is assuming he stays permanently. Campbell has been playing in League 1 and is 21 now and I think the potential of other younger players is better so its time to part company. Chiquinho needs to come back and be in our squad. He offers a good replacement winger and at a push can cover right back. This essentially leaves us with 4 wingers. This is where we need to go out and get one or 2 players in. Maybe one of those is a loan move for the season so that we aren't stuck with extra players when hopefully Enso comes back and can play that role. Bellegarde can also play out wide if needed.
Striker - Hwang, Fraser, Silva, Sasa
Hwang is obviously a keep. Fraser we were trying to loan out so I think we need to do that to get him some game time. Silva has no interest in playing for us and needs to go. Sasa is injured and will be throughout the window so we will end up keeping him although he probably wont be fit until November. Given this just leaves Hwang fit and available, we need to add depth here. Cunha can slot in here when Hwang is out but really we need an out an out striker option for the bench that can also start. They will need to be happy with a smaller role in the team so an older or younger player or both.
Sell - Hoever, Bolla, Hubner, Cundle, Podence, Guedes, Campbell, Silva
Loan out - Lembikisa, Hodge, Enso , Chirewa, Fraser
Buy/Loan in - Winger x1/2, Striker x2

Short story - D&D: The Time-Loop Tavern
The Time-Loop Tavern Story and image by Hotpot AI
The sun was setting over the rolling hills, casting a warm orange glow across the land. A group of adventurers, weary from their travels, stumbled upon a quaint tavern nestled in the heart of the countryside. The sign above the door read "The Time-Loop Tavern" and the group couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity and intrigue.
As they entered the tavern, they were greeted by the familiar smells of ale and roasted meats. The tavern was bustling with patrons, their voices mingling together in a cacophony of laughter and chatter. The group found a table in the corner and settled in, eager to rest and replenish their supplies.
But as the night went on, the adventurers began to notice something strange. The same patrons kept entering the tavern, ordering the same drinks and engaging in the same conversations. It was as if time was stuck in a loop, repeating itself over and over again.
The group's leader, a wise and experienced warrior named Arin, couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss. He approached the tavern owner, an old man with a kind smile, and asked about the strange phenomenon.
The old man's face turned grave as he explained the curse that had befallen his tavern. Many years ago, a powerful sorcerer had visited the tavern and was angered by the owner's refusal to serve him. In a fit of rage, the sorcerer placed a curse on the tavern, trapping it in a time loop.
The only way to break the curse was to unravel the mystery behind it. The group of adventurers, always seeking a new challenge, eagerly accepted the task. They spent the night talking to the different patrons, trying to piece together the puzzle.
They met a bard who sang the same song every night, a group of dwarves who played the same game of dice, and a mysterious woman who always sat alone in the corner, her eyes filled with sadness. Each patron had their own unique role in the curse, but it seemed impossible to break.
As the days went by, the adventurers grew weary and frustrated. They had encountered the same patrons and had heard the same stories countless times. But just when they were about to give up, they noticed a pattern.
The mysterious woman in the corner always left the tavern at the same time every night, just before the time loop reset. The group followed her and discovered that she was the sorcerer's daughter, seeking revenge for her father's death at the hands of the tavern owner.
With this new information, the group devised a plan to break the curse. They convinced the woman to forgive the tavern owner and let go of her anger. As the sun began to set, the group gathered in the tavern and waited for the time loop to reset.
But this time, something was different. The loop didn't reset and time continued to move forward. The patrons in the tavern were no longer stuck in their repetitive actions and the group could finally leave.
As they stepped out of the tavern, they were greeted by a beautiful sunset and a sense of accomplishment. The curse had been broken and the tavern was free from its grasp. The old man, now free from the curse, thanked the adventurers and bid them farewell.
The group continued on their journey, but the memory of the Time-Loop Tavern stayed with them. They had faced a challenge unlike any other and had emerged victorious. And as they rode off into the sunset, they couldn't help but wonder what other mysteries and adventures awaited them in their travels.
From that day on, the Time-Loop Tavern became a legend, passed down from generation to generation. And the adventurers who had broken the curse were hailed as heroes, their names forever etched in the annals of epic fantasy.

When I got my hands on the Cold Steel Trench Hawk Trainer, I was immediately impressed by its size and weight. The synthetic material felt surprisingly sturdy and authentic, making it perfect for learning the ropes without the danger of injury.
Not to mention, it closely resembles the actual Trench Hawk, so every training session felt like a real-life scenario. However, the weight was noticeably lighter than the real deal, which might not be ideal for those looking for a more accurate experience.
Overall, the Trench Hawk Trainer provided a safe and effective way to hone my skills, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to up their training game.

The Cold Steel Trail Hawk Tactical Gear is a versatile and durable axe that's perfect for survivalists, preppers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Its lightweight design, coupled with its functional hammer poll, makes it an invaluable tool for camping, hiking, and even self-defense.
While the thin blade may limit its chopping capabilities, its small size and affordability make it a great option for those seeking a practical and budget-friendly solution.

https://preview.redd.it/zff2qcd85r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49220e3304283938aeb10702863408684c69f846
I've been using the Cold Steel Heavy Duty Cane in my daily life, and it has proven to be quite the companion. The nylon handle provides an enhanced grip that makes it convenient to hold, while the steel construction ensures structural strength for long-term use. I particularly appreciate the rubber ferrule, which is designed to be slip-resistant, making it an excellent choice for uneven terrain or icy sidewalks.
One downside is that it might be a bit heavy for some people, especially those who don't need the extra weight for support. However, the overall design and engineering of the cane are top-notch, and it gives me a sense of reassurance knowing I have a sturdy and reliable walking staff whenever I need it.

🔗Cold Steel 1911 Guardian 2 Walking Stick for Comfort and Style

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Cold Steel 1911 Guardian II Walking Stick, and let me tell you, it's quite the conversation starter! The first thing I noticed was the attention to detail - the pistol grip-inspired handle is surprisingly ergonomic, making it a comfortable addition to my daily walks.
The aluminum shaft is both sturdy and lightweight, making it easy to navigate through various terrains. But what really sets this walking stick apart is the pebble grain synthetic grip - it provides a firm hold without causing any discomfort, even during long walks. I also appreciate the fact that it's designed to accommodate custom 1911 pistol grips, allowing me to personalize it further.
One of the most impressive features is the rubber ferrule at the end of the shaft. It provides excellent traction on wet, icy, or uneven surfaces, ensuring a safe and secure walking experience. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the Cold Steel 1911 Guardian II Walking Stick. It's not just a practical walking aid; it's a stylish accessory that adds a touch of flair to my daily walks.

🔗Introducing Cold Steel's Ultimate Synthetic Training Staff: Indestructible and Perfect for Martial Arts

https://preview.redd.it/2lba3y395r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eae250cdb4c8527b1445b9ee59b0d1ad6b42c837
As someone who has been training martial arts for years, I was drawn to the Cold Steel Training Staff for its durability and resistance to damage. I found that it was incredibly reliable and felt solid in my hands, making it the perfect training tool.
One of the standout features of this staff was its weight, which gave me a realistic feeling when practicing. While some users noted that it was heavier than they preferred, I appreciated the added challenge and authenticity it provided.
The thickness of the staff was another highlight, as it allowed for better control and maneuverability during practice. However, some users mentioned that it was slightly off-balance due to the uneven thickness at the ends. Despite this minor issue, the overall design was well-suited for martial arts training and flow art.
The polypropylene material used in the construction of this staff was another impressive aspect, as it proved to be virtually unbreakable and practically indestructible. It held up well to wear and tear, even after years of use. However, some users suggested that it might be too heavy for certain applications, such as hiking.
Overall, the Cold Steel Training Staff proved to be a reliable and effective training tool. It provided the necessary challenge for those looking to perfect their martial arts techniques and was a versatile option for various exercises. However, its weight and thickness might be a factor for some users, depending on their specific needs and preferences.

🔗Stylish, Durable Cold Steel Walking Staff for Urban Strolls

The Cold Steel Pistol Grip City Stick was my daily companion for quite some time, and I have to say, it proved to be quite versatile and durable. Made entirely out of eleven layers of fiberglass, I was impressed by its ability to withstand impact without a single crack. The 6160 Aluminum head provided an added touch of elegance and sophistication.
One of the most prominent features of this walking stick was its ability to function as both a cane and a self-defense weapon. The pistol grip design made it easy to hold and use, providing a comfortable and secure grip during long walks or in case of emergencies.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, the cane proved to be a bit on the heavy side. Granted, its heft gave it a sense of robustness and stability, but I couldn't help but wish it were a tad lighter for those extended walks.
Another minor concern was the screw holding the head to the shaft. It felt a bit thin, and although I never had any issues with it, the possibility of a break seemed somewhat of a risk. Overall, I would still recommend this walking stick for its durability, versatility, and elegance. It's surely a reliable companion for any adventurous spirit.

🔗Cold Steel Polymer Axe Head Walking Staff for Enhanced Support and Durability

https://preview.redd.it/20kthy0a5r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95d46f72287d72e2b6fb76d5e39a9e2ea10485db
Recently, I got my hands on the Cold Steel Axe Head Polymer Cane, and it has been a game-changer for me. As someone who often goes hiking and enjoys long walks, this cane offers enhanced support that I had never experienced before. The polypropylene material is a significant highlight of this product; it not only makes it sturdy and durable but also stands up to harsh weather conditions.
One feature that stood out to me is the axe-shaped handle. It's comfortable to grip and holds well, making it an excellent companion for my adventures. However, one downside I noticed was the lack of any resistance mechanism at the end of the cane. This made it a bit challenging to keep it steady on hard surfaces, as it would slide around quite easily.
Overall, the Cold Steel Axe Head Polymer Cane has proven to be a reliable and versatile walking tool. Its solid construction and sturdy design make it an excellent choice for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts like myself. Despite the minor issue with the cane's resistance mechanism, I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable and functional walking stick.

🔗Cold Steel Soldier's Targe Walking Staff

https://preview.redd.it/d4ugtuca5r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=87d1c33224084b7fc7b653754e9e556b29578375
I've been using the Cold Steel Soldier's Targe in my daily life, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer! Made in the USA, this 19-inch diameter shield measures 0.5 inches in thickness with a weight of 2 lbs. 2.7 oz. Now, I know what you're thinking: what's so special about it, right? Well, let me tell you.
This shield is not only sturdy, but it's also incredibly reliable. Made from polypropylene, it's the perfect size to not only take on a variety of swords but also to provide years of hard service. The weight is just right – heavy enough to deflect incoming blows but not so heavy that it feels excessive.
Now, let's talk about the user experience. This targe is a great training tool, perfect for SCA rattan combat. And it's versatile! Not only is it great for training, but it can also be used for solo movements or even for self-defense – surprise!
However, one thing to note is that the weight can be a little more on the heavy side, especially when you're trying to lift it. But that's a small price to pay for such a reliable and sturdy shield.
Overall, the Cold Steel Soldier's Targe is a fantastic product that's perfect for anyone looking for a reliable and versatile shield. The price is quite reasonable, especially considering the high-quality materials and craftsmanship. Great for training, great for self-defense, and great for everyday use – this is one targe you definitely don't want to be without!

🔗Stylish Blackthorn Shillelagh Walking Stick with Clipped Thorn Design

https://preview.redd.it/pmy8wpqa5r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b6be0956554eb7d7f21cc9fe61c45431308bc3a
My experience with the Blackthorn Shillelagh has been nothing short of a delight. Its distinctive charm immediately caught my eye, with its clipped thorns design elevating it from a mere walking stick to a unique accessory. Made from high-impact polymer material, it boasts an enhanced durability that's perfect for prolonged usage without the need for constant maintenance.
One of the most remarkable aspects of this product is its polished faux-wood head. Not only does it provide a smooth and premium look, but it also adds to the overall appeal and functionality of the walking stick. I found that its overall length of 27 inches and weight of 20.1 ounces offered a solid balance and ease of use during all my outdoor activities.
However, I did notice a few drawbacks. Firstly, the weight may not be ideal for all users, especially if it's to be used frequently or for extended periods. Additionally, the thorns on the shaft initially felt uncomfortable, which led to some modifications being made in order to enhance user comfort.
Despite its minor drawbacks, the Cold Steel Blackthorn Shillelagh remains a highly-functional and visually alluring accessory. Its durability and unique design make it a fantastic addition to anyone's collection of walking sticks, whether for everyday use or as a collector's piece.

🔗Cold Steel Heavy-Duty Nylon Walking Staff with Black Anodized Aluminum Shaft

https://preview.redd.it/536x4g4b5r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d414e75dbe38be619ceb08d2ec9519b3d5afb86a
Imagine taking a stroll with a walking staff that feels both sturdy and comfortable in your hands. That's the experience the Cold Steel Cable Whip Cane provides. I've had the pleasure of using this cane in my daily life, and it has made all the difference. The heavy-duty nylon handle feels durable yet provides a natural grip, while the black anodized aluminum shaft adds elegance and strength.
As expected from Cold Steel, this walking staff is made with top-tier materials and construction methods that assure it will last an impressive amount of time. The 37-inch overall length and 27.25-inch whip length offer ample support and reach, making it suitable for various terrains and activities.
However, there is one downside to the Cable Whip Cane. Its nylon handle, while comfortable, can get slippery during rainy or sweaty conditions. It would be great if Cold Steel could incorporate a texture or another material for better grip in such situations.
Overall, the Cold Steel Cable Whip Cane is a reliable and versatile walking staff that has greatly enhanced my outdoor adventures. Its unique design and top-quality construction make it stand out among other canes in the market. With minor improvements, this product could become a true essential for those seeking a durable and reliable walking aid.

🔗Cool Halloween Wand Walking Staff

https://preview.redd.it/k5ybp9ob5r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=edfce4069896de939b18eed54a2c30c5c01c8d72
Recently, I came across this unique Walking Staff, or as some call it, the Cold Steel Walking Stick. As a fan of both practical and eye-catching accessories, I was intrigued to try it out firsthand. What really stood out to me was the 62-inch length, which added a certain level of grandiosity to my wanderings, making me feel like I was on a quest for some hidden treasure.
Despite being made of plastic, the Walking Staff surprisingly felt sturdy and well-made, thanks to its realistic wood grain texture. This added detail gave it a touch of sophistication, making me feel confident in its ability to support me on my journey. With a weight that was far from burdensome, I quickly came to love the convenience it provided while strolling around town.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks as well. Although the black detailing made the staff visually appealing, it did attract a considerable amount of attention. This might not be a problem for some, but I found myself feeling a bit self-conscious as I used it. Additionally, even though it was lightweight, I couldn't help but feel that a more durable material like metal would have given me a stronger sense of security during my adventures.
In conclusion, the Walking Staff, or the Cold Steel Walking Stick, is a delightful and practical accessory for those who want to add a touch of magic to their daily life. Its unique blend of style and function, while not perfect, definitely makes it an interesting choice for anyone looking for something a bit unconventional.

🔗Cold Steel Walking Axe Head Cane: Combat-Inspired Self-Defense Stick

Recently, I've been using the Cold Steel Walking Cane with an Axe head. At first, the weight of the cane was noticeable, but it quickly became sturdy and trusty. I preferred to use the cane as intended, rather than attempting to modify it for a smaller size. The cane's handle was comfortable, providing a perfect grip for everyday use. However, the slick surface of the cane was a bit of a drawback when moving around on polished floors; it didn't offer much resistance, and sometimes it became difficult for me to keep a firm hold.
During my time using the cane, I found it to be an excellent choice when traversing various types of terrain. The axe head was both an appealing design and served a practical purpose. However, I also discovered that the product really needed a rubber tip on the end to prevent it from sliding all over the place. This, combined with the slight inconveniences posed by the cane's material and size, have led me to rate the Cold Steel Walking Cane with an axe head a solid, functional, and versatile tool for daily use.

I recently had the chance to try out the Cold Steel Walkabout Stick, and I must say, it truly is a versatile and sturdy tool. Made from solid black polypropylene, it's a durable option that's perfect for hiking or using as a self-defense weapon.
The weight and over-sized rounded pommel head give it a solid heft, making it an ideal companion for navigating tricky terrain or keeping an intimidating presence. The textured surface provides a comfortable and firm grip, while the simple one-piece construction ensures it remains lightweight when you need it. The walking stick is not just an aid for stability, but also doubles as a useful tool for outdoor activities, and I appreciate its stylish yet practical design.

As a nature lover and avid hiker, I was intrigued by the promise of the Blackthorn Walking Stick. After using it for a few weeks, I can confidently say it's a sturdy and reliable companion for my outdoor adventures.
One feature that stands out is the blend of polypropylene and wood-like texture. This gives the walking stick a perfect balance of strength and style. While it may not have the same rugged feel as a real Blackthorn staff, the faux wood knob at the top adds a touch of elegance and authenticity.
The walking stick is also surprisingly lightweight despite its substantial length of 59 inches. This makes it ideal for long treks without causing undue fatigue. The dimensions and ergonomic design make it comfortable to hold for extended periods.
However, the one drawback I encountered was that the thorns on the knob could occasionally snag on my clothing or backpack. While this might seem like a minor issue, it's something to be aware of when walking in tight spaces.
Overall, the Blackthorn Walking Stick is a great investment for those who enjoy hiking and camping. It provides both functionality and style, making it a worthy companion for any outdoor enthusiast.

2024.05.21 11:53 MemeQueen1414 2024 L4 Area Manager Offer Letter + Questions

Background Information on 2024 L4 AM (University Hired; External) Offer Letter:
62.5k salary; start date is 07/08
5k sign on bonus = 1st year
3k sign on bonus = 2nd year
18k in Amazon Stocks: 5% on anniversary date on 1st year 15% on anniversary date on 2nd year 20% every 6 months after until vested = 4 years until stocks fully vested
No relocation bonus given in offer letter even tho 150 miles away from home address. HOWEVER, Graebel Relocation Services is saying in the F&Q PDF that it may be given 30 to 45 days away and will be lum sum of 7k.
Have 1 week exactly to decide on accepting or declining offer.
Hey Everyone,
I just got my offer letter from Amazon as an L4 Area Manager (University Hire) and idk I'm not exactly happy with my salary. I'm in FL and the state have a extremely have a High COL and rent. Even when moving away from South FL, I was surprised to read my offer letter has the lowest/minimum in terms of salary of 62.5k. I thought maybe it be like NY or CA where I get higher salary to justify the means of living. I thought I would get 65k as like a happy medium.
I read the terms of the AM offer letter and it says that the salary is not negotiable. In the letter, Amazon says the following:
"Our team believes in providing the best offer up front ! The compensation for this position was crafted and approved by our finance team prior to the start of the season.
This value was determined based on the position’s responsibilities and the cost of living surround your assigned location.
No part of your offer is negotiable."
Normally I would accept it and move on but is it worth reaching out on that or will my offer be revoked? I'm concerned in surviving with rent, groceries, bills, student loans and etc after taxes using a online salary calculator for FL to get an estimate biweekly & monthly. Can I trade a couple thousand in stocks for a boost in salary?
Should I just take the L seeing I have no other job offer and just hope I get promoted to L5 in a year so I can feel more comfortable in salary before trying to pivot to corporate once I finish my contract/obligations for sign on & relocation expense?
Am I stupid for pausing at the salary and not immediately agreeing to the terms that is sent in the middle of the night since beggars can't be choosers?
Do you still keep your stocks when pivoting to another Amazon career field such as corporate or will the amount vested be eliminated? The letter makes that confusing to know since it says if you leave before stocks gets vested, you will lose it.
Finally, can I move my start date since it's Early July. I think it's Prime Week in July so I'm assuming I be blacked out if I try to start in late July or early Aug?
Thank you all for answering my questions and concerns, I really appreciate it.

rant/vent
🔍I had pretyped this just ranting then I realized i can post it anonymously here bc i’m really struggling and would like some outside advice human to human feels like i’m gaslighting myself lol. They have supported me and given me everything I need materialistically and do what they are supposed to as parents in that aspect I am very grateful and appreciative of that. in no way shape or form will I ever complain ab them giving me food, shelter, clothes etc. I’m not seeking to be coddled or get sympathy either i just need to know if it really is that bad or am I tripping.
🔬emotionally manipulative & guilt tripping parents will be their own demise. lol. finally dropping that mask you have with them, making them look at themselves and see the torment i had to mentally internalize & take on over the years > sitting back & letting them continue their behavior and control to keep destroying your identity & self continuing to deal with immense shame, guilt, sadness, and anger because you know how they are and you think theres no point in opening up to them or telling them what they do wrong bc they always do the same shit & continue to blame you for everything. note this though when I finally released all my years of internalized emotions on them and started texting them very knowledgeable shit about themselves, how they treated me, my mom trying to control and ruin me and my girlfriends relationship when we first got together (+ we have continued to be together for 1yr and 3 months still going strong she ain’t ruin shiiiit) & shit talked my gf for no reason at all. When I started texting paragraph after paragraph (+ texting them back and forth.) I was met with my mom thinking something isn’t right regarding my mental health and telling my dad and brother she thinks something is wrong with me again (she was surprised how I could speak so knowledgeable bc I barely even interact with them anymore) them texting my phone asking if everything is okay and they are worried ab me (she’s also made many comments before this situation like “you seem like you need to get back on ur medication you’re being irritable” etc when clearly that was the correct response to some fucked up comment she made i’m sick of that shit.) (sorry that was lowkey irrelevant but holy shit). them throwing what they do for me as PARENTS in my face, blame shifting, manipulation, lying, her saying she has no acknowledgment of ever treating me like that over the years, trying to ruin our relationship, or saying any of the vile shit she said about my gf. OH and how she thought It couldn’t possibly be me that’s writing these exceptional level paragraphs and she thought my gf was controlling me and making me send all of that to my parents(me texting her ab this shit went on for like 3 days, 3 days of her not taking accountability for anything, lying, trying to manipulate by making me feel bad as well and she had the nerve to say “it feels like i’m being abused” GIRLLL STOPPP HUH im still confused ab that one) it’s honestly sickening and baffling knowing ppl can think & say shit like that. i’ve been so detached from them since I was little (never knew why at the time) but THIS makes that detachment 100x worse and I feel like that’s a GOOD thing for me even though the outcome wasn’t what I wanted, bc i’m feeling free, released, not pint-up, etc most importantly more like I can finally be MYSELF!!! i’m way more comfortable in who I am and my Identity now at 19 could you imagine that like damn (just hoping it’s not temporary)!!! just putting this out there in hopes that someone else going through the same thing or similar will see and maybe help them a little. now i just gotta move out.
⚛️ she can’t see how what she says to people effects them drastically and takes 0 responsibility and acknowledgement of doing so and passes it off as “you don’t know me” “i’m a good person” “i have a good heart i love everybody” etc or blame everything on me for examples “we do everything for you” “you’re going to treat us like that when we sacrificed so much for you” etc um .. yeah they signed up for that when they decided to have a child so it’s fucked up to throw that in my face. THEN she loves to do this the most playing the victim card “you’re abusing me” “it feels like you are abusing me” “we feel like we can’t say anything right we are always walking on eggshells around you it’s exhausting” she knows damn well I’m not abusing her in any way shape or form that’s disrespectful to many people who actually had to go through and endure actual abuse. “do you want to hurt us? is that your goal” “you’re destroying the family” “you’re destroying our marriage” etc literally used to be all the timmmme when i was going through sh and stuff too. i didn’t do anything wronggggg all I did was speak up for myself FOR ONCE (bc it’s been YEARS) ab the shit she does and how i’m not okay with it i internalize literally everything (that’s y it took years. just sick of their shit idk what to do). low and behold after all that expressing I get met with all that blame shifting and lying. the reason why i never open up to her is bc when I do ever since i was little she always blamed me and made it seem like this whole other thing so hell yeah i’d rather internalize then talk to her that’s a way better option than getting met with guilt tripping and shit what else could I do but internalize n doing that fucked my head up BAD. there are MANY more examples of what else she would say and my dad too but i really think he’s brainwashed by her so idk that’s just off the top of my head .. lmao. she makes me feel so insaneee i even feel like i’m exaggerating and making a big deal n being too sensitive writing all this😵‍💫. there’s SO MUCH more context but fuck all that i typed enough. thx for coming to my ted talk🕷️.
🤢not to mention they are closeted RACIST & HOMOPHOBIC

2024.05.21 11:52 YaranaRouja Continuation of [Incident (C:A)]: 0862 (Rescue 2)

MY SINCEREST APOLOGIES, DEAR VIEWERS.
THIS INCIDENT ENDED ABRUPTLY A LITTLE *TOO* EARLY, THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPAIRED NOW.
I WILL PLAY THE LAST PART WHERE IT CUT OFF.
ENJOY!
...
THIS MOTHERFLUFFER, I SWEAR...
"That was the third violent weird guy I have killed today.. This day keeps getting better and more thrilling by the minute!"
Grabbing his phone and turning it on, The Badass Sheriff starts to scroll through random pictures that his best friend, Louie, sent him. All of them are normal and wholesome, which is nice. Clyde giggles happily while he looks at them. Then, he begins texting him, asking if there's anything exciting going on where he's at, his friend tells him no, nothing yet.. but the street vendors are giving their food away for free right now! 'Ah, neat..!', Clyde thinks, smiling cheerily. Before he gets to ask him to grab a hot dog for him, he hears a terrified player outside, screaming for help, they also sound like they're crying. The Badass Sheriff grins, it's time for more action! Not wanting to forget his shotgun again, he picks it up and then runs out of his office. He spots a violent weird guy chasing down a teenage boy in a distant, but not that far away. The poor kid trips and falls to the ground, then fearfully begs him not to kill him as he pulls his sign out. So, what does Clyde do? He takes a slightly big rock near him and then tosses it at the violent weird guy. It hits him right on the head, to which he immediately turns his head to look at The Badass Sheriff, growling angrily.
"HEY, GLITCH-FACED DITCH! Let's play..!"
Now that he's focused on Clyde instead of the horrified teen, the violent weird guy charges towards him, letting out a heavily distorted screech. The colorful badass adult waits and waits... and then instantly whacks him hard across the face with his shotgun, causing him to fall down to the ground. The violent weird guy attempts to get back up, but Clyde kicks him in the face and does the same to his right hand, making his sign fly off a few feet away. With a triumphant grin, The Badass Sheriff puts his left leg on his chest, keeping the violent weird guy down. Cocking his shotgun, he aims at his face.
"Say cheese, baby."
*BANG!*
The weird guy has been killed. The teary-eyed teenager approaches Clyde, and thanks him profusely for saving his life. Chuckling joyfully, he reassures the boy that no one would harm or kill anyone when he's around, then asks him if he wants to go to his office and chat with him. The teen's eyes light up. He says yes! Going back to the building, they start talking about things. Apparently, the boy accidentally bumped into the weird guy and thought he apologized to him, but realized he didn't, actually. The Badass Sheriff nods a little, thinking, 'Sadly, an extremely common mistake..'. A few more minutes of them simply chatting, the teen tells him that his friends are in the supermarket, waiting for him. Kind of awkwardly, he asks Clyde if he can take him there, he would love to! The boy thanks him again and they leave the office. Four minutes pass, they reach the supermarket, the teen gets out of the car, waving good-bye to The Badass Sheriff. He does the same, then drives off back to his office.
It's getting dark now, seems like a perfect time to go shopping! Clyde and Louie are heading to the largest mall in the game, StarDawn Mall. It was his friend's idea, so why not? After parking the car, the two sheriffs exit the vehicle and enter the massive building. As they walk around and talk, some players spot and greet them happily. A few approach The Badass Sheriff, asking for his autograph on their notebooks, completely ignoring Louie. The Cowardly Sheriff is sad... the poor guy. Clyde notices and comforts him, telling him that eventually, they will respect him too. But when? Who knows. Clyde then informs the players that he's not gonna do anything for them yet, as he's on a short break with his best pal at the moment. They understand and move aside for them to continue strolling. Going up to the second floor, some MORE players greet them cheerily. A little happy, Louie asks his friend if they can go and buy bracelets for the both of them, Clyde says of course, let's go there! The Cowardly Sheriff is excited!! Walking through a couple of hallways, they enter a shop. As he looks around, Louie finds a pair of matching star-shaped bracelets, he picks them up and goes to the counter, he then purchases them. He gives one of them to Clyde, who wears it on his right wrist. Louie also wears the other one, on his left wrist. The cashier joyfully thanks them for shopping as they leave the store.
They proceed to stroll through the floor, talking about stuff and sharing stories. ... Then, The Cowardly Sheriff notices something behind them, and pats Clyde on the shoulder twice, sweating nervously.
"Umm, Clyde..? There's a weird guy next to the glasses store, he's carrying a teenager. The kid looks distressed..!!"
Stopping in his tracks, The Badass Sheriff turns around to look at the weird guy, who notices him. The teen boy is struggling to set himself free. Clyde's smile turns to a frown.
"Put him down."
The weird guy doesn't do anything, he's starting to sweat.
"Put the kid down."
Still nothing. There's a broken bench leg lying next to Clyde's left leg, so he grabs it.
"I'm not asking again. Do it.. now."
The weird guy finally lets go of the teenager, his arms slightly raised, sweating profusely. The boy flees and runs to another hallway, thanking The Badass Sheriff in fear. Clyde smiles once more, and drops the bench leg. He nods once at the mute grey adult, who then walks away, trembling. Him and Louie continue to walk around the mall. Nothing much is happening right now, everything is just fine! A few hours later, they leave the building and enter Clyde's car. It's time to go back now...
They had tons of fun... and their break is over.
It's time to protect and save more players!
...
THERE IT IS, THE PROPER ENDING TO THIS INCIDENT!
EVEN THOUGH I DESPISE ONE OF THE SHERIFFS, THIS STORY WAS QUITE ENTERTAINING AND INTRIGUING, AND IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES.
ONCE AGAIN, MY SINCEREST APOLOGIES FOR WHAT HAPPENED EARLIER.
SEE YOU SOON, SWEETIES!~
HEHEHEHEHEHEH...

2024.05.21 11:52 Dr-Knuftz-MD So I’m ready to date…distance isn’t a problem lol, I’ll be there :)

I’ve had a rollercoaster ride with the only girl I’ve dated. After 7 years of dating she broke up with me cause “she’s not into girls” As you can imagine, it completely tore me as I always checked in with her and her feelings but she never mentioned this to me over the years…
It’s so hard for me to trust other women as I’m super scared of something similar or worse happening again.
I’m such a golden retriever and it’s crazy to say this but I lived for her! I’m that type of person who finds joy in making my other half happy :)
Forward to now and I just want to say that, I took the time to heal and I’m finally over that crazy part of my life.
so…. if there’s genuinely any honest and pretty cool femmes out there (I’m a chapstick masc) who would be interested in talking and seeing where things go, I’d be so down for that! I don’t care where you are located lol 😂 I will fly to you if I have to! I moved to Europe when I turned 18, I’m 26 now. USA and Canadian women always interested me cause I foresee myself studying further around there and settling down around one of those countries 😊
Ugh I hate dating… I just want to settle down already. I’ve never dated besides once cause I’m so freaking loyal to the first girl I see it’s so weird.😅😂
Anyways some stuff about me:
🥹❤️Thank you for reading this!
lol this is so weird cause I’ve never done this before … 😂

🔗Cold Steel Spear Head Trainer with Santoprene Handle

https://preview.redd.it/74l2z45r4r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9b5aaa9a6acb485aa1175b548eb0519753baa85
When I first got the Cold Steel 92R95 spear head trainer, I was skeptical about how realistic and sturdy it would feel. But after taking it out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised by its construction. The spear head is made of Santoprene, a non-toxic material that's flexible yet strong enough to provide a realistic experience.
While the 10 2/3 inch head length may seem intimidating at first, it's actually quite manageable. The 7mm edge thickness and 6.13 inches of blade length provide a balanced feel, allowing for smooth and precise movements. It even comes with a small base mount for easier attachment to a broom handle.
However, the product does have some minor cons. Firstly, it's quite heavy, making it a bit challenging if you're not accustomed to holding it for long periods. Secondly, the flexibility of the spear head can sometimes make it feel a bit wobbly when in use, which may cause some safety concerns.
Nonetheless, the Cold Steel spear head trainer is a great tool for training purposes. Its combination of safety, flexibility, and realistic feel makes it an excellent choice for those looking to improve their skills without risking injury. Just be cautious and make sure you're comfortable with the weight and flexibility before diving in.

🔗Cold Steel Rondel Rubber Training Dagger for Practicing Knife Skills

https://preview.redd.it/dj3es6lr4r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=96dd8101380d0c6e8cd2b96fc937953b8fd8c49b
Training with a real dagger can be a dicey proposition, but Cold Steel's Rondel Rubber Training Dagger offers a safer alternative in a sleek, easy-to-handle design. The rubbery construction is perfect for honing your sword skills without the risk of injury, making it an excellent choice for all-level HEMA practitioners.
The Rondel Rubber Training Dagger's blade feels solid in your hand while its knurled grip offers a surehold even with sweaty palms. The overall construction is well-balanced, and its rounded tips prevent accidental injuries. Additionally, the rubber blade is surprisingly flexible yet stiff enough to parry a blow, making it an excellent training companion for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
The 1-inch thick blade provides ample weight to mimic the feel of a steel dagger without being too heavy to swing around. Its 11.25-inch blade length and 17.13-inch overall length make it versatile enough for various techniques, from simple strikes to complex parries. The Santoprene handle offers a durable, comfortable grip, and it's easy to hold even when wearing gloves.
While this dagger won't be a perfect substitute for a real one, its realistic heft and blade shape make it a practical and efficient training tool. Its affordability ensures that you can have one readily available for both yourself and your sparring partners, making it an excellent addition to your HEMA training kit.

🔗Cold Steel O Bokken: High-Impact Polypropylene Alternative to Traditional Bokken

https://preview.redd.it/26tqqlxr4r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e008e3fe13a8a4193ce7a2aaa2dc49a8bac98e1

I've recently started practicing martial arts, and one of the essential training tools I was recommended was the Cold Steel O Bokken. This synthetic sword has been a game-changer in my training regimen.
The first thing that caught my attention was the molded-in high impact polypropylene grip. It provides superior grip and comfort, making it very easy to maneuver during sparring sessions. The sword's polypropylene handle is also very durable and resistant to damage, perfect for the intense nature of martial arts practice.
One of the highlights of the Cold Steel O Bokken is its lightweight design. It's perfectly replicated the size and feel of a steel sword, while minimizing the risk of causing serious injury. The blade length of 30 inches and its 1-inch thick blade makes it an ideal choice for both beginners and more experienced practitioners.
However, there are a couple of downsides I've noticed while using the Cold Steel O Bokken. Firstly, the blade's sharpness could pose a potential threat during practice, especially when you are using it with other people. Secondly, the hilt guard that comes with the sword is made from flimsy rubber, which tends to crack with age and usage. While it's not vital for the sword's functionality, it does affect its overall appearance.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Cold Steel O Bokken has been a reliable and essential training tool in my martial arts journey. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their practice sessions while minimizing the risk of accidents.

🔗White Leather Hi-Top Sneakers by A-COLD-WALL

https://preview.redd.it/3qjjn5ds4r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b93fa41dcc45c480a574f8cf8bdcfee18ca531d
Over the past month, I've been rocking the A-COLD-WALL Luol High-Top Leather Sneakers in white. As a sneaker enthusiast, I appreciate the classic, timeless look of white canvas and rubber soles and was excited to see how these would fare in my wardrobe.
The first thing I noticed is that these sneakers are true to size, providing a comfortable, snug fit. I also appreciate the sizing being mentioned as Italian, which made me feel like I'm rocking a European vibe. The round toe shape adds a touch of elegance while maintaining a comfortable fit.
The Luol Hi Top Sneaker has a rich, raw edge construction that makes these kicks stand out. The padded reinforced ankle is a great feature, providing both support and comfort on long walks. I also loved the large blind debossed logo at the heel - it's subtle yet eye-catching. The ACW bracket logo debossed and printed at the toe box adds a touch of personal style.
However, these sneakers aren't perfect; the laces may need some getting used to if you prefer a tighter fit, and the soles could be a bit more cushioned for added comfort during long wear.
Overall, the A-COLD-WALL Luol High-Top Leather Sneakers in white are a great addition to any wardrobe. The classic style, comfortable fit, and unique features make this sneaker stand out from the crowd.

🔗Versatile Magnetic Indoor Trainer with Craftsmanship and Ease of Use

https://preview.redd.it/9n2amvps4r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2fbdcbaccf0eae52ba2c7e04084a488803790b37
As a cycle enthusiast, I've tried my fair share of trainers, but the CycleOps SUPERMAGNETO Pro Trainer takes the cake. The power curve for every rider type and ride type in one trainer is a game-changer. I can easily switch between easy, road, interval, and mountain resistance curves to customize my workouts according to my goals.
But what really stands out is the Flexible Power Curve Technology. It allows me to adjust resistance curves for a truly personalized training experience. I also love the easy adjustments for both ride and rider types. Plus, the Pro Series frame adds a touch of elegance to the trainer.
However, there's a downside to every product. The setup process can be a bit tricky, especially if you're new to trainers. Also, the noise level might be a concern for some, as it's not the quietest trainer on the market. But overall, the CycleOps SUPERMAGNETO Pro Trainer delivers a smooth, effective, and versatile training experience. It's a sturdy, easy-to-set-up, and quiet piece of craftsmanship that makes indoor cycling an enjoyable part of the daily routine.

🔗Cold Steel Brooklyn Crusher Baseball Bat - Durable, Versatile Trainer

https://preview.redd.it/2dfii66t4r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d897eb1b41698800e24cb1ea1396b4d4f2e91de0
In my daily life, I've found the Cold Steel Brooklyn Crusher to be a game-changer. This nearly indestructible bat, made of durable polypropylene, stands true to its claim of never breaking, rotting, cracking, splintering, or fading. Its 29-inch length and two-pound, one-ounce weight make it versatile and perfect for various activities, such as competition, batting practice, and even at-home self defense. The synthetic polypropylene material also adds an extra layer of strength and durability.
While using the Cold Steel Brooklyn Crusher, I've noticed both the positive and negative aspects of it. The most noteworthy aspect is its unbreakable nature, which instills confidence in the bat's performance. However, its weight might be a drawback for some users, making it a bit too heavy for casual use or for individuals who prefer a lighter bat. Nonetheless, it remains an excellent choice for those seeking a strong and reliable baseball bat for a variety of purposes.

🔗Unbreakable Gladius Trainer Sword by Cold Steel

https://preview.redd.it/1u7bd2ht4r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28bac2788b692e805bb140335df1e6073a86cabf
Having had the pleasure of using the Cold Steel 92BKGM Gladius Trainer Sword, I can honestly say it's a fantastic training tool. The synthetic device, made of heavy-duty polypropylene, is incredibly durable and safe to use. Unlike the wooden swords of old, it won't rot, crack, chip, or splinter, providing you with a reliable training companion.
Right off the bat, the sword's design and construction were impressive. With a blade length of 20-30 inches, a 9-inch handle, and an overall length of 31 inches, it closely duplicates the size, weight, and feel of a genuine sword. This feature allows you to train as you would with a real one, without the added risk of injury.
The weight and balance of the sword are spot on, making it easy to handle. This is also due to its single-mold construction, which adds to its overall sturdiness. In fact, I was surprised at how solid and unbending it was.
One of the key advantages of the Cold Steel Gladius Trainer is its cut resistance. It's designed to be remarkably stiff and resistant to blows, allowing you to train effectively without having to worry about it failing or breaking.
Despite its robustness, the sword is surprisingly comfortable to hold. The 9-inch polypropylene handle is a good length, providing a firm and secure grip. The sword's overall balance and weight distribution make it a joy to handle.
However, no product is without its minor drawbacks. While it's a terrific training tool for novices, it's not a perfect substitute for a "live blade. " The sword's rigidity might be a bit too much, making it less forgiving than a wooden sword. But that's a trade-off for the added safety it provides.
The Cold Steel Gladius Trainer Sword is an excellent investment for anyone looking to improve their swordsmanship skills. With its durability, close-to-perfect replication of a real sword, and cut-resistant design, it's an indispensable tool for anyone on the journey to becoming a skilled swordsman.

Buyer's Guide

Cold Steel Trainers are designed to help individuals build and maintain their self-defense skills. These trainers come in different forms, such as throwing stars, knives, and swords. Before purchasing a Cold Steel Trainer, it is crucial to consider several factors to ensure you get the most out of your investment.

Material Quality

https://preview.redd.it/4fy5v0zt4r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f9b24f72784a0c8909e7c4c3db85526d28cc077
Cold Steel Trainers are generally made from high-quality materials, such as steel, brass, or tungsten. Look for trainers with a sturdy build and a durable finish. Quality materials will stand up to regular training and practice, ensuring your trainer lasts longer.

Safety Features

Safety should always be the top priority when training with a Cold Steel Trainer. Check the trainer's design and construction for potential safety hazards, such as sharp edges or loose parts. Ensure the trainer has safety features, like a dull edge or a soft rubber tip, to prevent accidents during practice.

Realism

For effective training, the Cold Steel Trainer should closely resemble the real weapon it represents. Look for trainers that have similar dimensions, weight, and balance to the actual weapon. This realism ensures that when you transition to using the real weapon, you will be more comfortable and better prepared.

2024.05.21 11:51 alaspawyorick My dentist is being cagey about continuing my treatment, and I think they might have messed up

I went to my dentist (rather than an ortho, I know) who has been my dentist for the last 20 years and used to lecture on orthodontics, so I was quite confident. I asked about Invisalign, got a good price from them, and they said my treatment should be straight-forward, maybe 6 months, but that it could be as many as '60 or more trays if it turns out you need it - you may have a few sets of refinements too but its all included, you just need to pay for your retainers at the end'. Sounds fair to me.
I got my ClinCheck back, and started my first of 18 trays. This felt about right, it was fairly minor correction. Two of my canines however didn't really budge. They had decent sized attachments but didn't track at all after about tray 10, and its obvious which two compared to the others. I raised this with my dentist at the time who said it would be fine, and to just extend the time the trays were in etc. or refine if needed afterwards.
Fast forward to tray 18, they never moved. My other teeth are looking lovely, but not perfect, my bite doesnt close on the left side, and my dentist is insisting that my treatment is complete and that I don't need refinements. I've said since I paid, and can have them, and since the treatment is easy enough, that I'd prefer to do it right - but they're really pushing back and I'm not sure they'll even let me.
I noticed my Invisalign has 'Go' on the pack, so my guess is that while originally I was discussing a comprehensive treatment, I've been put on Go and while they said I'd have free refinements they know that will no longer be the case.
Add insult to injury, they are now only working 2 days a week and are almost impossible to contact. I'm heading to the practice today. I've been on tray 18 for nearly 8 weeks now in this weird limbo. Today I'm apparently going to 'talk with them about refinements', so will still have another 2-4 weeks before a new tray. Who do I take this up with if it doesnt resolve soon?

🔗Stanley Quick Flip Go Water Bottle: 24 oz., Tigerlily, Dishwasher Safe

https://preview.redd.it/70u2s2334r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f71c05c8affa7a4c94dfbb6b87590203cbfc4684
As a product reviewer, I've had the pleasure of trying out the Stanley 24 oz. Quick Flip Go Water Bottle in the Tigerlily color. This water bottle has become a staple in my daily routine.
The first thing that caught my eye was its sleek design – perfect for carrying on the go. The double-wall vacuum insulation is a real game-changer. Whether I'm sipping on iced water in the summer or a hot cup of tea in the winter, the temperature remains consistent for hours.
One feature I particularly appreciate is the trigger-action lid. It's easy to use and helps prevent spills, making it great for when I'm on the move. Plus, the fact that it's dishwasher safe is a lifesaver. No more scrubbing by hand!
However, there are a couple of downsides. Firstly, the weight of the bottle can be a bit of a struggle for those who prefer a lighter option. Secondly, the dimensions might not fit all car cup holders, which can be a hassle during road trips.
Overall, the Stanley Quick Flip Go Water Bottle has been a reliable companion in my everyday life. Its combination of style, functionality, and durability make it a must-have for anyone looking for a reliable water bottle.

🔗Cold Steel Heavy Duty Nylon Cane with Rubber Ferrule

https://preview.redd.it/v48i5gn34r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64aac772c9910fa7f43dc2f916fb8b53b380e7fc

🔗Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel: Robust, Stainless Steel Outdoor Essential

https://preview.redd.it/onud1it34r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=19aa78d8c58949aae696362f44a26b21b9da0dca
This past summer, I found myself on a weekend camping trip and realized I didn't pack a shovel. I needed to dig a small trench around my campsite to divert water. Luckily, a friend had a Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel that he let me borrow. On the first day, he taught me how to use it. The edge was sharp, and the handle felt sturdy. I was surprised by how strong it was. I struggled a bit at first, but it didn't take long before I was able to dig the trench.
After returning from the camping trip and reflecting on the weekend, I realized that the shovel had some flaws. Firstly, it was a bit heavy for a camping trip, and I felt it could cause strain on my back over time. Secondly, it didn't come with a sheath, which was inconvenient since I had to keep it in my vehicle's trunk, where it took up too much space.
Despite these issues, I still appreciated the durability of the Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel. It was clear that it was designed for heavy-duty tasks. The edge remained sharp even after I used it heavily. The wooden handle felt comfortable to hold, even though it was a bit on the thick side.
Overall, the Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel was a functional tool, but it could be improved for camping trips or situations where portability is a priority.

🔗Cold Steel Smatchet: Deluxe Edition for Playstation 5

https://preview.redd.it/duzypj644r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4feb4a7502a34a0974f6539f3524c5dc9b0652ab
As someone who thoroughly enjoyed diving into the Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III and IV, let me share my experience with this dynamic duo. The deluxe edition for Playstation 5 was a refreshing return to the rich world of Erebonia, where war hero Rean Schwarzer began his new life as an instructor at Thors Military Academy's branch campus.
What stood out to me was how the game expertly handled the aftermath of the Erebonian Civil War and introduced new threats to keep the story alive. Delving into it with the improved RPG gameplay on PlayStation 5 made my journey even more immersive. Plus, the cosmetic DLC available with these iterations ensured that every member of my party was looking their best, adding a unique touch to the experience.
However, like any other game, it wasn't all smooth sailing. There were moments that were a bit challenging, but overall, the Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III and IV truly delivered an engaging experience that I thoroughly enjoyed as a fan of the genre.

🔗Heavy Duty Cold Grease Remover for Effortless Cleaning

As a home cook who's always experimenting with new recipes and kitchen tools, I've found myself in a bit of a pickle when it comes to removing stubborn grease from my appliances. That's why I was thrilled to try the Shumanit Cold Grease Remover.
Right off the bat, I found it remarkable how quickly this cold grease remover works. No need for a heat source or any harsh chemicals. In fact, it's effective on all sorts of surfaces - my oven, pots, frying pans, baking trays, stainless steel dishes, cooking surfaces, steam extractors, and even hard-to-clean vents.
I've had my fair share of leaky packages in the past, but the Shumanit Cold Grease Remover was surprisingly well-packed. It comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with a trigger spray that's easy to use.
The product has a delightful citrus smell that lifts the spirits while I'm getting my hands dirty in the kitchen. Plus, the grease and grime just seem to vanish as if by magic.
However, there's one small downside to my Shumanit experience. On one occasion, the package was partially leaking, which made me worry about the condition of the other products in the batch. I just hope it was a one-time issue and not a trend.
To sum up, the Shumanit Cold Grease Remover is a truly versatile and effective grease and grime remover. It's a lifesaver for anyone who values a sparkling clean kitchen. Let's just hope the packaging improves in the future.

🔗Insulated Stanley Classic Legendary Bottle: Perfect for Outdoor Adventures

The Stanley Classic Legendary Bottle is a versatile and durable companion for any outdoor excursion. It's been a part of my camping adventures for years, ensuring that my beverages stay the perfect temperature no matter the weather.
The thick stainless steel walls not only keep my iced drinks cold for two days but also keep my hot beverages warm for up to two weeks. Plus, the leak-proof lid doubles as a cup, providing a convenient and easy-to-use option for sipping on the go.
The 2.5-quart capacity is ideal for sharing drinks with friends or keeping a large quantity of your favorite beverage at the ready. I've washed my Stanley Classic Legendary Bottle in the dishwasher without any concerns about rust or BPA exposure, and it continues to perform as well as it did on day one.
Overall, the Stanley Classic Legendary Bottle has become an essential part of my outdoor gear, and I can't imagine spending time in nature without it.

🔗Stanley Vacuum Insulated 1.5qt Bottle: Leakproof and Durable for Any Adventure

https://preview.redd.it/hv1cfgh54r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=92c3e83a1e6ed9bde65bd49c95962c0425bd9025

For my outdoor adventures, the Stanley Legendary Classic Bottle 1.5qt Habitat has truly been a game-changer. This insulated beverage container ensures my drinks remain at the perfect temperature for hours on end, whether I'm savoring a hot cup of coffee on a chilly morning or enjoying an icy beverage on a sweltering day.
One of my favorite features is the stainless steel construction, which not only makes the bottle sturdy and durable but also ensures it's free of BPA, a nice touch for any health-conscious individual. The double-wall vacuum insulation, another key highlight, works wonders in keeping my beverages at their desired temperatures, even in extreme conditions.
However, I found that the bottle can be quite difficult to clean, especially along the insulated areas. Additionally, the screw cap lid, while functional, can be a bit tricky to twist off after a while, depending on the grip strength. These minor inconveniences aside, the Stanley Legendary Classic Bottle has proven to be an indispensable companion on all my outdoor excursions.

🔗Versatile Cold Welding Formula for Robust Bonds

https://preview.redd.it/4ogfz5u54r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4866a573a4c06607a53a48abca3bb57ecd3aa95
Recently, I got my hands on the J-B Weld Original Cold-Weld Formula Steel Reinforced Epoxy. I was intrigued by the fact that it could serve as an inexpensive alternative to welding, soldering, and brazing. To my surprise, this versatile epoxy proved to be a game-changer in my daily life.
One of the most impressive features of the J-B Weld epoxy is its water-resistant nature. I used it to seal a leak in my water pipe, and it worked like a charm. The epoxy's petroleum and chemical resistance made it perfect for my project, as it withstood various tests without any damage.
Another standout feature of this product is its non-toxic and safe-to-use nature. I used it to fix my child's broken toy, and its safety made me feel more comfortable.
However, I did notice that the mixing ratio of the epoxy is quite sensitive. One must be cautious not to deviate too far from the 1-1 ratio of liquid steel/epoxy resin and the hardener. A slight miscalculation could result in a weaker bond or the need for reapplication.
In conclusion, the J-B Weld Original Cold-Weld Formula Steel Reinforced Epoxy is a must-have for DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike. Its ease of use, remarkable strength, and versatility make it a standout product in its category. Despite the minor drawback of the mixing ratio, the benefits far outweigh the inconvenience.

🔗Insulated Bottle for Long-Lasting Beverages

https://preview.redd.it/hjiqws764r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=778b7036f610f7931a5d1bf47b1544b1da25f09e
I recently put the Stanley Classic to the test on an outing to the mountains. This bottle is a true companion for outdoor enthusiasts, with its impressive 18/8 stainless steel construction and BPA-free design. The 1.5 quart capacity means it can handle all types of drinks, from hot coffee to icy coolers, and keep them at the optimal temperature for up to two days. The folding handle is a clever added feature that allows for easy carrying without the risk of it rolling away.
One of the standout features of this bottle is its leakproof design, making it a reliable option for packing in a backpack or storing in a truck bed. The wide mouth also makes it easy to fill and clean, which is especially helpful for those who enjoy making their own homemade brews. However, I did notice that the bottle is quite heavy, weighing in at 2 pounds, making it more challenging to carry for longer periods of time.
Overall, the Stanley Classic is an excellent investment for those who love spending time outdoors and need a reliable companion to keep their drinks at the perfect temperature.

🔗Portable Insulated Water Bottle with Silicone Straw

https://preview.redd.it/l5lg54i64r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e07172bcc88a069950d96dd4cfb862f209f40f40
I recently had the chance to put the Cooper Stainless Steel Water Bottle to the test, and I have to say, it impressed me with its performance. The most standout feature of this water bottle is its ability to keep drinks cold for an impressive amount of time. I often struggle to find a water bottle that can truly keep my beverage chilled all day long, but this one did just that. The double-walled and vacuum insulated design does an excellent job of maintaining the temperature of the liquid inside.
Another feature I appreciated is the leak-proof lid. No matter how rough I was with it, it never leaked once. The one-touch silicone push button locking mechanism helped keep my bag and clothes dry, while the straw was a fun and convenient addition. Cleaning it was also a breeze, thanks to the top rack dishwasher safe lids and BPA-free materials.
However, I did experience a downside with the product - it isn't suitable for hot beverages. If you're someone who prefers drinking tea or coffee, this may not be the best option for you. Additionally, I found it slightly difficult to fit the bottle in my usual cup holders, which can be inconvenient during travel or at the gym.
Overall, the Cooper Stainless Steel Water Bottle did an incredible job of keeping my drinks cold and providing a leak-proof, easy-to-clean design. Although there were minor drawbacks, I still enjoyed its benefits and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and stylish water bottle.

🔗Stanley 1.1 Qt. Legendary Classic Canteen - BPA-Free Stainless Steel

https://preview.redd.it/fva5u8074r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=021a8e122aa23b47e0dbf977a9a0b77939f8066e
I recently had the chance to try out the Stanley 1.1 Qt. Classic Canteen, a 18/8 stainless steel bottle that promises to be leakproof, packable, and perfect for outdoor use. At first glance, the canteen looks sleek and sturdy, with a classic design that makes it easy to hold and carry around. It comes equipped with a removeable carrying strap that keeps your hands free and adds a touch of style to the canteen.
One of the standout features of this canteen is its non-insulated stainless steel material, which allows for easy packing while still offering a decent capacity for your favorite beverage. However, I found that the lack of insulation means that the canteen doesn't retain temperature as well as I would have liked. While it's fine for day-to-day use, it's not ideal for taking on long hikes or camping trips where maintaining the temperature of your drink is important.
Another downside to the canteen is the attached cap, which can be a bit tricky to open and close, especially with one hand. Though I appreciate the convenience of having it attached, it would be nice if the cap were more user-friendly and easy to access. Additionally, the metal clips on the carrying strap can be quite loud when walking or hiking, which can be a bit distracting and might not be the most discreet choice for stealthily navigating through the wilderness.
Despite these minor drawbacks, overall I found the Stanley 1.1 Qt. Classic Canteen to be a functional and stylish option for everyday use. It's a good choice if you're looking for a versatile water bottle that won't break the bank, but just remember to manage your expectations when it comes to insulation and noise.

🔗Corkcicle 32oz Sport Canteen: Triple-Insulated, Wide-Mouth Drink Container with Quick Sip Lid

https://preview.redd.it/g8jdgja74r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5900642083119fc5f56b1e9d8f8477efab04f303
The Corkcicle 32oz Sport Canteen boasts a spacious 950mL capacity, perfect for hydration while on the go. Its quick sip lid adds convenience to everyday use, and the signature flat sides and Duraprene finish ensure a secure grip.
Triple-insulation maintains drinks at their desired temperature for extended periods, making it an ideal choice for both hot and chilled beverages alike. A wide mouth allows for ice cube insertion, while the lid's easy-to-use one-hand opening adds practicality.
Regrettably, some users have experienced issues with the lid's functionality and structure, which may prove a disadvantage for those seeking a seamless drinking experience. Nonetheless, for those seeking a durable, stylish, and functional water bottle, the Corkcicle 32oz Sport Canteen offers an impressive range of features.

🔗Versatile Insulated Water Bottle with Cup Lid

https://preview.redd.it/ba7lnum74r1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4236dde9fc2a1109edb6d8a02ff4d627c9fb186e
This Stanley Classic Legendary Bottle, aptly named "Nightfall, " has become an essential companion in my daily life. The bottle's robustness and dependability have captivated me, as my newfound favorite keeps the brew piping hot during those frigid mornings or even chills your favorite beverage during scorching summer days.
One of the key features that have blown my mind is its innovative, leak-proof design. By using the twist-and-pour stopper, it ensures that my adventures are safe from any accidental mishaps involving the bottle. Moreover, the slim design makes it the perfect single-handed companion, ensuring a comfortable grip.
However, there are a couple of minor nits. The lid being insulated and doubling as a cup is a fantastic idea, but I found it a tad more tedious than convenient during my first few times. Additionally, while the bottle's sturdiness won my heart, it unfortunately lacks a wider mouth, which might make it a bit more practical for my soup-loving, chunky ingredients cravings.
The Stanley's performance has made me believe it's not just about the product but also about the spirit of adventure it represents - one sip at a time. Despite a few minor quirks, it's a reliable bottle worth every penny spent.

🔗Corkcicle Star Wars Darth Vader Canteen: Sleek and Stylish Insulated Travel Drink Bottle

Crafted in the image of the infamous Darth Vader, this Corkcicle Star Wars canteen is not just a stylish way to keep your drinks cool. The 16-ounce canteen promises to keep beverages cold for up to 25 hours or warm for 12, all thanks to its triple-insulated lining. Its stainless steel construction ensures it's not just durable but also perfect to use in any setting, be it by the pool or at the office. The canteen is equipped with a screw-on cap that prevents any liquid from escaping and keeps the temperature consistent inside. The ergonomic design and flat sides make it easy to grip, and its stay-put silicone base ensures it stays securely in your hand, avoiding any spills.
My experience with this canteen has been nothing but stellar. The Star Wars design is not just aesthetically pleasing but also adds a fun touch to my everyday life. The triple-insulation keeps my beverages at their desired temperature for longer, especially during our hot summers. The cap is a great feature that prevents leaks and spills, and the ergonomic design makes it comfortable to hold. However, I wish the product was dishwasher safe as the paint tends to peel off after a few uses, which can be a bit disappointing.

I recently tried the Step Steel St Goal Blacksteel CCM Replacement Steel - Pair, and I was blown away by its performance. The superior edge quality is evident as it slices through the ice with minimal resistance, providing sharp, fluid movements that make it a game-changer for any goalie.
Designed specifically for CCM 2-Bolt Goalie Cowlings, this complete set comes with both left and right runners, ensuring perfect fit and seamless functionality. Made in Canada, the high-quality craftsmanship is evident in every aspect of the blade, from its sleek design to its exceptional edge durability.
While the hardest possible edge offered by Step Steel Black is undoubtedly impressive, I also appreciate the added Diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating on the mirror side finish, which significantly boosts blade performance by generating a winning combination of low friction and high surface hardness.
What sets Step Steel apart from other blade manufacturers is their innovative aspect ratio, which accelerates pushes across the crease for modern butterfly and hybrid goaltenders. The taller blades and truer profile offer added stability, precision, and width, ensuring less bending or improper sizing upon receiving the product.
Overall, the Step Steel St Goal Blacksteel CCM Replacement Steel - Pair is a game-changing product that combines superior edge quality, innovative design, and unrivaled performance. If you're looking to enhance your goaltending experience, look no further than Step Steel.

2024.05.21 11:49 purin--purin [Ramble] My experience being a "true alcoholic."

I got hospitalised 4 times in the span of 5 months. I was vomiting blood ranging from 1 day to 3 days straight before going to hospital. I'm apparently prediabetic, "have the liver of a 60 year old" at 21 (I'm an ex-drug addict as well) and suspect I have neuropathy. Totalled 1 car, a DUI and I've also got a bunch of scars and nerve damage in some of my fingers due to being so sloshed I accidentally injured myself. My withdraws got so severe my body wouldn't take the oxygen I was breathing, my throat would close up, and my limbs would curl up and lock due to the lack of oxygen. it would last upwards of 30 minutes. My 2nd to most recent hospitalisation I was so ill they had to put an IV in my neck (aka means super serious) and I was on deaths door. Cold to the touch, grey, weak, hardly breathing and in a lot of pain. To add onto that, my ex-boyfriend didn't even help me in. He threw me out of the car 2 rows away from the ER entrance. Since i couldnt walk or barely do anything, I called 911 to tell them i needed to be wheeled in. They could barely understand me because I could hardly speak. I've since moved back in with my parents and still drink but not like how I did. I never even considered alcohol withdrawals being a thing despite my history in illicit drug use. I never saw myself as an alcoholic despite my entire family all being severe and mean drunks. My dad drinks actively in front of me and I stay unbothered and its only been 3 weeks since I moved back in. I can go to a restaurant and have just one beer. I don't know why I let myself drink like that. I met that ex a little over a year ago and he was a severe alcoholic. Compounding with that was the fact I had just moved from a different state and I had been very lonely and depressed even before moving, coping with alcohol. I reached a breaking point way before the hospitalisations (last one was March 17) but I got so used to the routine I didnt care I guess. Didn't mind dying because I put myself in another mess being with this guy. It was the only activity we actively enjoyed and could "share" together. We bonded over drugs and couldnt find a common ground and a 14 year age gap didn't help. Ishould've known better but I guess that's what happens when you meet a guy at a bar buying cocaine with your aunt and uncle. He took me into the bathroom, offered me a bump, and I snuck off to his hotel and lived with him since. Slept in my car and hotels for a couple months partying like crackheads. Eventually got an apartment and everything was really good in the beginning then we moved to a new apartment and it all spiralled worse.
Anways that's my story. I'm not sober but I'm not off the fUcking deeeeeeep end. I've had a few glasses of wine and beer. I live in walking distance of a liquor store and I don't really feel like going.
I just wanted to talk about this experience. Its similar to how I quit drugs except instead of giving myself the ultimatum he did it for me. He left me 7 hours from home at a hotel with nothing but the clothes on my back. I wasn't upset we were over I was only upset he took my stuff. I knew it was a mutually toxic relationship, both interpersonal and chemical romance. I figured after finally having a clear(er) mind that I wanted a sense of freedom? I love my parents but it's ass having to live with them. I've moved out 3 separate times as knee jerk reactions and this was just a rerun.
The amount of damage I've caused my body in the span of a year due to the severe amount of alcohol intake feels irreversible, especially because I had the extra disadvantage of being anorexic. I've never had health problems before despite it but alcohol is the most dangerous substance. I was a heavy drug user for 4 years and I never experienced the reaper looming over me before.

2024.05.21 11:48 SnooHabits754 How We Built Tweetlio and Are Aiming for $10,000 MRR - Do you think we can do it ?

Wanted to share our journey of building Tweetlio, our all-in-one solution for Twitter growth. It’s been a wild ride, full of ups, downs, and everything in between. We’re gunning for $10,000 MRR at launch, and we’re even throwing in a sweet 50% discount for our early adopters here on Reddit. Here’s the story.

How It All Started

So there we were, drowning in Twitter chaos. Crafting tweets, scheduling them, engaging with our audience—it was a full-time job. And let’s be real, we were failing at it. One night, my co-founder and I were ranting about how tough it was to keep up. That's when the idea for Tweetlio hit us. A tool that does all the heavy lifting for Twitter? Yes, please!

Building the MVP

We jumped in headfirst, coding like maniacs and surviving on coffee and ramen. Building Tweetlio wasn’t a walk in the park. We wanted it to write and craft tweets, schedule them, and even engage with followers. Oh, and let’s not forget the 10,000+ viral tweet database we included to help users get more traction.
The first version? Total mess. Bugs everywhere. But we kept at it, fixing one issue after another. We reached out to anyone who would listen, trying to get feedback and users. It was exhausting, but slowly, it started to come together.

Testing the Product Beta

Convincing people to try Tweetlio was tough. We got ghosted more times than I can count. But then we started getting some wins. Users were loving the auto-engagement features and the viral tweet database. Seeing tweets blow up and getting thank you messages felt amazing.
There were still setbacks. Our server crashed during a demo with a big potential client. Talk about embarrassing. But every failure taught us something, and we came back stronger.

Building Our Community

The real magic happened when we focused on our community. We started holding virtual hangouts, sharing tips, and celebrating each other’s wins. Some of our beta users have been using Tweetlio to grow their followers by crafting new tweets from our viral tweet database and scheduling them for optimal times. Seeing their follower counts increase and their engagement levels rise has been incredibly rewarding.

The Big Goal: $10,000 MRR

Now, we’re aiming high. We’re gunning for $10,000 in monthly recurring revenue at launch. It’s ambitious, but we believe in Tweetlio. To sweeten the deal, we’re offering a 50% discount to our early adopters here on Reddit. You guys believed in us first, and we want to give back.
We also thinking of giving on Product hunt the same offer and other place but still not sure. The Growth plan is of 99$

My Experience:

  1. Embrace the Grind: Building something great takes time and effort. There will be long nights and setbacks, but keep pushing.
  2. Listen to Feedback: Your users are your best resource. Listen to them, learn from them, and make improvements.
  3. Build a Community: Engage with your users and create a space where they can connect and share.
  4. Stay Resilient: Failures are part of the process. Learn from them and keep moving forward.
  5. Believe in Your Vision: If you’re passionate about your idea, others will be too. Keep that fire burning.
Soory for any typo.
Thanks for reading, Reddit! If you’re looking to up your Twitter game, come check out Tweetlio. We’ve got your back.
