~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Norman took one look at the towering building to his left. Then he took off.
.
.
“̷̵̵̷̶̷̶̶̸̶̶̸̴̡̛̮͉̹̪̼̙̤̲̤͔̗̮̥̣̜͓̟̞̃̔̈́̑̈̍͌̂̂̐̋͛̉̓G̵̶̸̷̴̸̵̵̴̶̸̷̸̴̶̨̢̧̞͈̠̜̳̪͎̬̜̱̫͚̝̩̑̒͐́͆̃̿̉̆̉̃̓̀̎̐͂̎̒̕̕͘͝͝Ǵ̷̷̷̴̸̸̷̷̷̷̵̨̢̞̥͓̰͖͙̰̝͖̩̺͍͎͉͌̽̂́͐̓̀͒̐͗́M̴̷̶̵̴̷̵̶̵̴̷̷̢̡̧̢̛̫̲͕͇̗̯͚̥͙͓͓̀̒͑͒̂̊̅̐͛̂̄͌̈̚͝M̴̷̶̵̴̷̷̶̷̬̼̭̗͍̺̳̩̱͍̂̄̾͂̔̽̇̀͝͝͝͠M̶̯̙̥͕̞̰̗̗͐̔!̸̞̞̬̼̖̩̈́̇͊͐̾͑͋̉!̷̧͈̘̬̆͑͝!̶̤̜̔̓̆̅̔͆͘͝”̸̨̧̼̭̫̒͜
.
.
The new hunting cry boomed through his body. It was much louder than the first building’s, albeit shorter, like a tap on the shoulder from a titan proclaiming its presence to the world.
Of course, the tap of a titan could flatten a man.
Norman fell. His legs had simply stopped working. Jaws clenched, he forced his will into wobbly muscles. His palms slammed into the waterlogged street, stopping the fall. With a sharp push, he sprang back to his feet and ran on.
Norman yanked out the remaining two flash grenades on the go, strung them together, armed and drew back for a throw.
.
.
“̷̬̳̙̍̎̆G̴̥͇̥͔͕̫̈̀M̵̛͇̜͙͇̫͔̭̩̝̜̓̈̏̓̓̀͛̚͜͝͝M̷̩͈͉̘͙̿͌̃̽͂̃̏̏̓̾̈́͌̈́̉̅̄̉͘!̷̢̧̢̤͓̭̖̝̏̏̄̓̾̉̆͋͘͝!̵͍̱̼̮̯̺̲͙̖̮̗͓̻̓̊͂̒̔͐̎͘͘̚!̵̙͍̟̌͒̃͂̎͠”̶̡̛̠̱̭̞̹̟͉̒̎̎̂͂̐̈́̓̄̚̕
.
.
That quick boom pounded through him. His fingers faltered. The flash grenades slipped from his grip and fell. He was still recovering from the sound when they went off at his feet. The nightsight filtered the flash, so he didn’t go blind. He’d gutted the flash grenade’s speakers, so he didn’t go deaf. The peeping building could deafen him all on its own … no, this wasn’t a peeping building. He’d slew a peeping building. They were small fries by comparison.
This was an eyescraper.
Tentacles the width of busses unsheathed from its sides. Even if he’d managed to launch the grenades and bathe it in smitelight, he suspected that wouldn’t be enough.
Norman sliced at its eyes with a focused beam. It barely flinched. Maybe if it got close enough, he could affect it a bit. By then, it would be too late.
Throbbing chuffs thundered from the monster. It sounded like a laugh.
Norman shot it a defiant glare. He bolted. Not fast enough. He could feel the giant closing in. So, he moved faster. Then faster, and still faster. His muscles blared their warnings. Rain lashed his face. He felt the air begin to resist his movements as he reached a speed at which it mattered. It was in his way, so he pushed through it too. No one was there to tell him he was moving far faster than any human known to history. All he cared about was hearing that thing fall behind him, and so it did. The tremours of its tremendous movements grew fainter.
At the end of the street, an apartment building came into view. Norman threw himself against it, climbing with the reckless abandon of a madman. He was halfway to the top.
.
.
“̷̧̨̭̹̘̥̮͖̤̻̥̬̌̀͒̔͌̊̀̚͜͜͠Ǧ̶̨̨̧̺̘̰̗̘̥̝̗̦̩͖͎͋̈͑͐̒̽̉̔͛̾̒́̕ͅM̴̨̉́̾̉͂͆̔̿̀̃̇̎̍͆̂̽͗̔͘͠ͅM̷̝̻̱̆̍͜!̴̮̬̯̮̦̖́͂̆͋̿̇̎̄̄̅̂͑̎̀̕͘͝͝͝!̸̲͎̲̼̠̮̱͖̥̭̤̩͓̘̜͈̟̖̮̰̦͖̀̂͗͂̽̈́̋͌͂̐̓̈̕!̸̜̆̿̋̔̽̕”̷̢̦̜̰̼̳̝͓̆͗̈́̆̆̑̃̾͑̀͗͒͆́͐͒̈́̿̽̕̕͜
His grip went limp. He fell. Struck the ground. His head bounced. The world grew fu...z z y.
Something was yapping in the background, but it wasn’t important. He felt fine. Everything was fine. Why not rest? Why was he even-?
_CHAT
What? No he didn’t! Promises weren’t for trolls! Why would he leave Amy anyway?
.
“̸̼͔̖̜̫͍͚̊́̽͆̓̂̋̋͐̕Ģ̴̢͕͉̯̺̗̖͔͙̪͓̻̯̫̭̙̱͕̠̭̩̌M̸̨̧̘̟̹̖̻̲͍̭͓͉̰͙̦̣̜͉̻̎̅͗̇̈́̈̏͌̓̾̀̈̈́͜M̵̢̢̖̯̦͍͕̝̯̥̹̪̠̥̰̝̖̊͛̀̇͜!̵̢̡̡͚͕̘̟͕̥̦̪͆̈́̿͆!̴̛̹͈̜̥͔̬͎̪̩͚̦̯̟̘̩̰̳̍̑̂́̌͌̎́̒͋̽̿̑͌͝͝!̴̛̥͕̪͂̂̂̈̓͆͗̇̄̈́̌̅̎͂̕̚̕͝͠”̷̧̧̛̠̝̰̞̘͙̥̖͎̭̞̜̳̟̓͆̌̊̃̔́͒͋̇̈́͘̚͠͝ͅ
.
.
Oh, right. There was a skyscraper running him down. To think he lived in a world where that made any sense. He rubbed his throbbing head. It was hard to think, though.
_CHAT
Brain fog would have to wait.
In two twos he jumped onto the side of the building and kept going up and up without breaking the momentum of the leap. Adrenaline had challenged gravity. Gravity lost. There was no pause to assess handholds. There was no rain stinging his face. In his mind, there was only ‘CLIMB, CLIMB, CLIMB!’ Crest the rooftop. ‘RUN, RUN, RUN!’ Descend the other side ‘JUMP!’ Gravity greedily reclaimed Norman, dragging him 4 storeys down at breakneck speed. He hit the ground in a parkour roll. Bruised a bone. Nearly fractured a shoulder. Wrenched his spine. Joints, muscle, ligaments almost popped. They didn’t.
He was running again.
Norman had never heard a building shred like paper. He’d never thought to wonder what it sounded like.
*( ( BMMM! ) ) ( ( BMM! ) ) ( ( BOOM! ) ) \*
SHHHHHRRRRRRMMMM!
Now he knew.
Those booms … was it the eyescraper’s tentacles breaking the sound barrier, or punching holes through the apartment building? Maybe both. It didn’t matter. What mattered was that it was tearing the building in two with the ease of one parting curtains. Buildings were not designed to be parted. Two became legions as the sundered building collapsed.
Norman rushed for an abandoned truck, slid beneath the trailer. Not quite fast enough. Most of the rubble didn’t reach him directly, but upon hitting the ground? It pulverised into a blast of cloud like a sandstorm. Hissing beneath the trailer, the dust stung at his ankles. He ignored it, racing for the truck’s cabin at the front. Perched on the step beneath the door, he braced as the dust raced beneath, around and above him. The cabin was his shield. He flinched to a duck when its windows shattered as the dust cloud blasted straight through them. The truck rocked and slid slightly, bombarded by wind and dust. It lurched as a chunk of debris finally reached it, crumpling the trailer like cheap foil.
Time to move.
Particles prickled Norman’s eyes, finding their way through the nightsight. He took a fresh glimpse of the path ahead before clouds of grey engulfed it all.
Memorised.
He dashed on. A split second later, the cabin was levelled under a larger slab of concrete. More sporadically thundered down around him. His eyes were squeezed shut, denying entry to any more particles. He scrambled through the street, dodging obstacles from memory. As for the concrete rainfall that couldn’t be seen? He had some prayers about that, but it probably came out like half-baked gibberish.
Norman chanced opening his eyes. They watered like crazy. At least most of the dust was gone. Behind him, the eyescraper’s menacing silhouette was picking through the rubble. Finally, an unblocked street was in sight. He rounded the corner.
.
“̵̨̢̮͕̻̲̺́͠G̵̣̒́̓̽̅̊͘͝Ọ̷̝̣͓͙͔̀ͅͅǪ̷̜̺͚̲̯̭̈́̍͂͑̋̋̅͂̅́M̷̨̤̭͈̯̤͋̾̏̈̅̉̀̏͘M̵̡̢̙̱͌̊̓͒́͌Ḿ̸̳͗̀̀͐͒͗́͠ͅ!̷͍͉̣̪̫͙̳̲̤̎̀̾̅̈́̔̎̑͘͜͝͝!̴̨͈͖̘̖̅͛̋̽͠!̸͎̩͓̫̥̼̫̊”̵̫̗̞̣̝̃̅̕͘͜͜͝ͅ
.
Another peeping building, rumbling in from the new street. Alright. Straight it was.
.
“̷̢̧̻̹͚͔̾G̵̳̭̾̃̎̍̌̂̈́̂͛͘M̶̧̠͇͔͚͉̮͈̰͒͊́̏̔̄̾̊͐̒͂͜M̸̳͓̋͋̔͑̔̔̕͝Ő̷͓̟̱̮͓̍̂̾̽̇͘͠Ô̸̧̫͉̮͚̥̥̯̈̾͋̅͂͘̚M̶̢̫̥̰̮̪͙̬̙̗̺̽͒͐͌̋̈̄͆͝M̴̢̧̧̛̗͔͓̫̭̳̱͑̉!̵̡̛̛͍̲̓̅̑̈́̿̏͘̕͠!̸̧̖͔̣̩̏́͋̀͛͂̏̀̇̑͐!̴̧͕̝̮̤̱͈̬͋”̸͓̉̈́̑̎͊̌
.
Maybe not. A third building emerged from the rainfall ahead. All streets blocked. He glanced about. All alleys still blocked. This really was a hunting net, but this much energy for a tiny human? Predators weren’t usually like this.
He ran for the nearest building that wasn’t occupied by eldritch calamari.
( ( BOOMM! ) )
The eyescraper’s tentacle crossed his path. Its supersonic shockwave sent him flying.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Norman came to. Rain poured against his face as he lay on his back. How long was he out? Why was it so cold? The atmosphere didn’t quite feel right. It didn’t look right either. Something about the colours, or subtle lack thereof. Everything seemed a bit desaturated. Norman sat up and coughed his lungs out, evicting a mix of dust and rain water collected in his slackly gaping mouth. Buildings towered above him on every side, a bit too close for comfort.
.
“̸̮̼͍̻̯̲̹͓̬̻̓̍G̷̛̖̙̰̰̟̓Ḿ̸̧̨͊̊̔͒͌̆͆͘͠͝M̷̧̺̏̿̆͑͆͋̅͌̕͝G̵̰̺͇̺̯̲͇̠͖͂͜M̸̡̨͕̹̗̥̎͑́̾!̸͇͙͚̝̩͕̙̒!̵͙̬̮̪̏̍!̶͔̪͉̙̘̃̐̄͝”̶̡̡̥̫̻̝̜̫͙̩͛ͅ
.
Oh, right, those weren’t just buildings.
Norman raised a finger, gesturing to wait. “Could you *kaff!* quit subwoofin’ at me for, like, ten seconds!”
“Plucky.̵͚͐͝ for all seasons I .̵̦̺͐̅see,” came a skin-crawling voice from behind him.
Norman swung back his smitelight. It barely moved half a foot, then it stopped. Rather, something stopped it. That ‘something’ was cold. So cold. His wrist felt the chill without even touching it.
Norman turned, slowly, so as not to trigger further attacks. He found himself looking up.
Eight feet tall. Dark grey skin. A grin that went a little too wide. Dagger teeth. An open-chested jacket, revealing sinewy muscles with luminous markings like tattoos. His ebony eyes bore penetrating white pupils. Of all his traits, the dreadlocks stood out most. They belonged in a nightmare, dancing through the air with a life of their own. Somehow, they looked blacker than black, absorbing every ray of light or heat that came their way. That icy chill in the air shifted with the movements of his dreadlocks. They seemed to drink life from the air itself. Norman almost found it hard to breathe. One dreadlock clutched Norman’s smitelight, only by the tip, but its grip was iron.
Norman stared the tall man down.
The nyctal’s grin grew by a smidgeon.
Taking a calculated risk, Norman released the smitelight. Perhaps a peace offering would do good.
“Good.̷̧͋͌̎̿ boy,” the tall man nodded, admiring the smitelight as the dreadlock rotated it. “Clever.̴̧̤̩͈͓̖͂ͅ toy.”
Norman noted an understated Jamaican accent in his voice.
More dreadlocks slithered across the smitelight, as if tasting its every nook and cranny.
Norman did his best to look casual as he scanned for an escape route. The eyescraper’s tentacles had wrapped around the street, fencing him in.
_CHAT
Norman looked at the tall nyctal again.
_CHAT
The nyctal’s eyes shifted to Norman inquisitively. He frowned, raising an eyebrow as the comments piled up. Finally, he smirked mischievously.
“Your fanbase has peculiar tastes,” purred the tall man.
_CHAT
The tall man handed Norman his smitelight.
Norman’s suspicious gaze flicked between the nyctal and the weapon. Finally, he reached out and took hold of the smitelight.
It crumbled in his fingers like ice-cold ashes. If not for the insulation gloves, he might have gotten frostbite.
The nyctal laughed.
Norman didn’t find it particularly amusing.
The tall man sauntered towards the eyescraper. Beyond it was a darkness even the nightsight had difficulty piercing. He beckoned Norman as if it were an afterthought.
“Please come in, .̵̭̻͌̓̂Norman.̶̲͕͇̅̑̚,” the nyctal instructed.
Norman stared stubbornly, hands in his pockets as he rocked on his heels. He felt for his smartphone. It wasn’t there. When had he lost it?
Without looking back, the nyctal held up Norman’s phone. It disintegrated between his fingers as he rubbed them together.
Norman glared. At least the guy hadn’t pickpocketed deeply enough to find other things.
“Hey. To whom do I owe the … pleasure?” Norman almost had to push the last word through his teeth.
The nyctal stopped in the eyescraper’s doorframe. Shrouded in shadow, little could be seen of him, save the piercing white pupils peering out. Then the glint of his Cheshire grin.
“.̴̜͓̭̻̤̍̈́̆͑͑John Crow.̸̻̮̓̈́̏̓͘,” he answered, before receding into the darkness.
The eyescraper’s tentacles dragged in across the street, corralling Norman towards the building. With an exasperated groan, he trudged towards the main entrance.
“I want my bed,” grumbled Norman.
2024.04.10 03:45 JAM_Passive Reenlisted Sunday
Reenlisted Sunday
BLUF: Reenlisted for 3 more years. 5 years of some of the most eventful things I've had in my career below.
Been 5 years since my initial enlistment. Started off as a 12W, and for the time being still am. BCT wasn't hard, just annoying and tiring. AIT was fun, got fired from being student 1st twice, and survived DS Hayes. Difficult as she was, she's the reason I have such pride in being an Engineer.
I never got to the unit I was supposed to belong to initially because I immediately voluntarily transferred to another to deploy to Africa. Djibouti sucks, everyone will tell you that. Did have a fun time [playfully] going back and forth with some Navy O-5 or O-6 on a white board in my LTs office about how Engineers are better than Seabees. Kenya was significantly better and to this day I say Kenya spoiled me. Came back as a SPC with some chest candy (just a little), my special little SOCAF deployment patch, and coins from a SEAL and MARSOC team. I'd go back to Kenya any day.
I was transferred back to my original unit. Got to go to Guatemala after that. We did underground electrical work and set up some of those giant tents. Was amazed at how small their people are. A restaurant owner was shocked at how much one of my SGTs was able to eat. It was a regular plate of like 12 tacos, real tacos. Those small ones that are about the size of a hockey puck.
A fun interaction was a gentleman on our last day asked if we were basketball players, then military when we said no. After asking him about it, he said he figured we were one of the two because of how big we were.
We also visited Tikal and ate from street vendors. We avoided commercial restaurants or anything that looked like it was tailored towards foreigners. Their food is delicious.
I moved states and transferred to yet another unit. My squad won our company best squad competition. We made some concrete pads for the Boy Scouts. We got to go on their zip line after which was really fun. I got to operate my favorite vehicle: the HMEE.
Fun fact: Then SPC Marshall (technically SPC Harris, but ignore that for now) didn't know how to operate a HMEE before that drill weekend. But he did know how to operate a Skid steeBobcat, a lull, and a backhoe. Surely they can't be too different. So when Chief asked if anyone knew how to use the HMEE, can you guess what happened next? That's right, SPC Marshall blurted out "I do Chief!" and started jogging to the HMEE. I guess no one else wanted to do it because no one else tried to get in all weekend.
Anyway, I got in and recognized everything, after all, it's all the same. I knew everything... except how to turn it on. I managed to grab one of the 12N and had him show me how to turn it on. He did and I drove without incident. Also did you know that HMEEs could crab walk? I didn't. But I had a damn good time after seeing it could.
We went to the Philippines after that. Lemme tell you something, the Philippines is fucking, H O T! No wonder their Soldiers are fit, the fat melts off you just by walking! Our showers were 50 meters from our tents. By the time you get back, the walk would have you sweating. We did go out a few times and I had fun.
On one such outing, my platoon's previous LT (moved to another PLT after EBOLC) engaged me in conversation of various topics. Namely my thoughts on things like reparations, guns (mostly in terms of mass shootings), and other socio-economic things as they say. His girlfriend is some minority or the other that I can't remember and he wanted to talk to more of us about things like that.
After getting back to camp he told me he was surprised we didn't disagree on much, but wanted to keep talking. So I suggested one thing I knew for sure we'd differ on: religion. That did surprise him when I told him I'm an atheist, specifically a Satanists (TST type). He's a theist. Not necessarily Christian as he said, but he believed there was something and chose to call that God.
He didn't bullshit me, I didn't bullshit him, and we had what I'd consider a fun conversation about that. In an effort to remove religion (even those I like) from my life as much I can, I've since left TST but still support their efforts, as well as other groups that generally have the same cause, but aren't religious in nature, such as FFRF and MRFF.
BLC came next. I was not prepared for it at all. My classmates helped me very much during it. I wasn't given any help from my unit in what I should be aware of, so drill and ceremony as well as things like prep drill were difficult for me. But again, I had great instructors and classmates that helped me through it.
As we all know, Sundays are the days held for religious services. Like I said previously, I don't have one. So when folks were leaving for services or in the later weeks of the course, got that 1 hour break from class to head to the bays and do worship how they please, I told my instructor I'm an atheist and will be going to my bay for that hour as well.
I was fully expecting a fight, but my instructor just said okay and let me be. I cannot state how grateful I am that I had such instructors. Shout out to SSG Brown and SSG Trull. Two other things about my BLC experience.
During one of CSMs long speeches while we were in formation, he brought up God. He did it twice, but the second time was irrelevant to me because it was about how his mother and church shaped him into the man he is today. I'm not bothered by how that made him a better person.
The 1st time, it was him going on a small tangent about how God is the cause for everything, and he is to be thanked for his glory. So I talked to one of the EO reps about it. I explained to him that I don't think that to be appropriate: we're all a captive audience. If he wants to have a little sermon or whatever, that's fine, but it should be made clear that it's optional and a mass formation is not an appropriate for that.
He asked if I'd be comfortable talking to CSM about it. I said yes, after all that's what I wanted in the first place. CSM comes up and I tell him the same thing. CSM says he understands and informed me that his religion is a big part of his life, so he will do his best, but to keep that in mind if he "slips" so to speak, again.
I never expect someone to just stop immediately. That's what you grow up with, a expect no sudden change. But nothing like that happened again the rest of the time I was there.
That experience showed me that issues like that really can be solved with just a talk. And it made me grateful and happy to see EO working in real time. It's cool that it's there.
The second experience comes from a SFC Causey. She's the main EO rep and was great, absolutely hilarious honestly. She was instructing our class one day and went around the room getting to know us. I think it was favorite color, favorite movie/show, and a pet peeve.
It was her questioning of my pet peeve that got me. Occasionally I speak Patoi — Jamaican for the uncultured. I did during Basic until one of my DSs said "Stop speaking that Rasta man stuff." I still did, just not whenever he was around. So because of that and others having difficulty understanding me if I didn't speak slowly enough, I had mostly stopped in uniform altogether. Code-switching, corporate voice, whatever you wanna call it.
When I told her that, she looked me dead in the eyes and said to the effect of "So you stopped being you because other people had a problem?" Y'all, when I tell you I have never been so stunned to be called out in such a manner. She must've felt sorry for me or something because she tried to save it by saying it shouldn't be like that and me being in uniform shouldn't take that away from me, and that especially as an EO rep, she doesn't like that happening.
Damage was done though man, cuz till this day that still haunts me. I think she's right, but it just feels weird to be called on that so openly. Anecdotally, I've never met a Hispanic or Latino that's had an issue understanding me.
Next up, a Soldier I deployed with was one of the ones killed in January. SGT Kennedy Sanders. I made a post about it, reached out to the family (never did get a response) and am still sometimes in disbelief she's really gone. There was a funeral video for her and I still haven't finished it. I will, don't know when, but I will.
Moving on, almost done. After about a year and a half of waiting, I was finally transferred to a Combat Engineer unit I had been trying to get in to. I've since been placed as a Team Leader and have 3 Soldiers under me now. I like them. One of them is from India and like anime so we talk about that a bit. He's going back to visit family later down the road and I asked him to bring back food for the squad, something he agreed to. One I think is just ready to get out. Still does his job, but I think he wants to move on. The other is in school for construction management and is going into an internship for some notable company in his area I can't recall the name of. I've told him after I finish my Union apprenticeship, I'm going to be going for a degree in Civil Engineering. I joke with him that maybe one day he'll be managing me.
I've expressed my interest in being a Sapper to my Training NCO when we were taking about my career (if I think I'll be a lifer, if I'm just using it to go through school, etc.) and he's supportive. After hearing about how unprepared I was for BLC, he's taken a personal interest in making sure I'll be prepared for 12B reclass.
I've only been at this unit for 3 months, but it seems like a really good place so far. Physical fitness and job competency as well as quality training are actually a priority around here, and I'm not discouraged from others for wanting to be a Sapper (difference between an construction company vs a combat one I suppose) and I'm always keep in the loop about things.
And that's about it up to this point. Everything here is largely all the positive things that have happened to me. There's been some shitty times for sure, but no nearly enough to outweigh the great time I've had. Given the choice, I'd still join the Army. And I would till absolutely choose Reserve.
At first it was because I didn't want to fully commit to going AD. And now I know it was the right choice. Especially now after seeing how y'all get treated and have to live. I moved to a new state, I'm a 1st year UA apprentice, I'm a volunteer firefighter (free living baby), my old PSG's family supported took me in and supported me until I could move out and I visit them frequently. I have Army and civilian goals.
I shit on the Army with the best of them, but the past 5 years really has been an amazing experience for me. I mean come on, this is looking to be the first year since I've been out of IET that I haven't been out the country on the Army's dime. 4 consecutive years that I've been to other countries.
Anyway, that ought to be it. I've had a great 1st enlistment, and intend to keep going. Pictures of reenlistment not shown in video and of the stuff retention gave me.
2024.03.27 15:03 Good_Panda7330 Archon SS guide
I got 84% win rate on shaman in the last 3 months. Something like 21-4. I'm Archon 4. I really want the legend medal. Should I start spamming him to legend ?
I always go the same build. Basically I mastered him mechanically, it's muscle memory to use his spells. My build is always the same. Small timing variation. Pos 5. Rarely 4. Level chains on 1, then ether shock, then usually 3 1 1 1. Then 4 4 1. You always need 1 level of chains and 1 level of hex. You can vary the rest of the skills. I personaly prefer to max the nuke as it's potent. But you can also go higher on hex or chains. I perosnaly prefer skills over the first talent choice.
Items always magic wand, cause it's no effort to use it in time for me and it's free regen. Null talisman cause at min 25 it gives a lot mana and it's cheap, you won't have a lot of gold early. Super rarely if it's high dying risk lane a bracer instead talisman. Brown boots, talisman, magic wand. Usually have a blood granade, always have some sentrys and obs ward. Stack and pull small camp. Sometimes farm it with ether shock.
Ocassionaly clarities or if gold is good void stone right away. Ocassionaly raindrops, but my philosophy is to buy it if they don't got nuke spamms so I can benefit from the regen longer. Then I complete aethers lense. Always in this order. Use plenty tangos for regen. So I'm at brown boots, wand, talisman, lens. Then mostly boots of travel and after shard. Rarely get shard before BOT to farm.
I don't use blink and BOT gives me map presence so I can support where needed while pushing waves and farming and warding. I am constanlty buying wards. Obs wards usually are at 0-1 in stock, rarely 2. Never 3. Pretty much always have +1 sentry with me to deward.
Fighting wise, trough good wards vision and the long cast range from lens and vizier I can stay back and cast from a distance. Also chase them quickly with BOT movement speed. When you get jumped use hex. When you're about to die in a suprise attack focus on placing mass serpent wards on top of someone and spamming out any skills before you die. That is if a fight is happening so if you got teammaters nearby. There is no point in wasting ult and letting them farm your serpent wards if you got caught alone on the map. During regular fights use MS advantage and kite and cast. Hex or chain whoever is getting too close to you. Chain is a great spell for chasing and enabling kills. You can initiate by catching someone who roams alone when your allies are close by.
Speed of BOT and range of Lens make me catch them from a safe distsnce with the ability to move in out fast. Best 2 level token is the extra range followed by philosphpers stone. Best Level 4 token is sacred relic. Followed by the invisibility + evasion magic resistance. So items by now are always magic wand taliaman BOT lens shard. I can flash farm the map now and push with shard while having global tp to support my cores in team fight. I can farm ancients with sharded chains plus ether shock. Sometimes walk to fountain to restore all mana and tp back into where team could have a fight.
Next up is scepter. Very ult based style Snakes win me the game. With scepter I got some hp. Generally ult into enemies, on top of them and use hex and chains to keep them there. Sometimes if needed or valuable a single pick of. Mostly in team fights ult onto 1 enemy or an area where the fight is happening that will put enemy at disatvantage. Also optimally while pushing you ult so that your snakes both fight the enemy heroes and can reach the tower. Also whenever possible onto one hero to trap him. Sometimes it is better to ult onto the ground in a strategic position that makes it hard for enemies to keep the fight up, they gotta move away and get hit by your cores or stay and get spit on by serpents. Don't forget to maximise duration if going for single target by using chain and hex after one or the other is up in duratuon. During laning phase try to mostly catch both enemies with ether shock. Also in small team fights it's good to disable 2 seperate enemy heroes, hex one chain other giving your team time to get of first. Hex insta kills illusions. Heroes with phase boots can walk out of Max Serpent wards. When getting pushed look for chains that trap enemy heroes in range of your tower. Don't be cheap on sentrys and win the neutral camps battle. If your wave is pushing into their tower remember you can also pull their large camp into your wave. Denys and ruined LHs are always good. While the T1 is up constantly check with sentrys if the enemy has warded your high vision point.
After secepter I go refresher, which is pretty much GG territory by now. Takes experience, don't cast double ult by itself. Cast it when a real fight is happening. You don't want to just feed your snakes into their cores. I start building scepter mostly with point boster first. If you need regen get axe first if you need mana staff (+10int) first. Always get +10 agility last. Usally I go point booster, axe +10 into then 10 agility last. Don't save ult just for towers. If a fight is easy don't ult. But if ult helps win a fight use it. Ult is both for pushing and fights. Situationally it's also worth it to cast all your spells to win a 1vs1.
Remember with shard to use chains to push towers. Cast chains on creeps by enemy tower. Also when pushing ether shock the wave and chain it. So you have big creep advantage. Manage your mana. So mana is left for fights. Though this is situational and you will get better with it with experience. Don't fear tping back or walking back to fountain when your mana is spent. Restoring 15000 mana is worth it. You do this mostly after big fights. Or when nothing is happening. Don't do it during a fight. With BOT it's easier to get back into the map.
During laning phase hide a lot in the trees, target denys. Use chain strategically. Be aware of kill threats. Use chains both agressive and to save your carry. Always deward their high point observer, but without dying. Shaman is slow so it doesn't pay of to go for the gold rune mostly and leave your carry vulnerable. BOT Magic Wand Talisman Lens Shard Scepter Refresher. In case game isn't over the last item is Octarine Core.
Rarely a Aoe disk is worthy delaying your serpent based items. It was really good for me vs Storm who flyes to me uses orchid and tryes to burst me. Dying as shaman is ok. The idea is to contribute not to be the main character. I call it dying well. If I die but my team picks them off it's worth it. Double ulting their base is the fastest pushing scenario in the game. With lens you got extra warding range. A pro tip during pushing is to put an obs deep into their base. Mostly they only deward between T3 towerd. Use a lot of sentrys for high point dewarding. If they can't see you, you win.
I don't go glimmer and force but with lens range I disable them before they hurt me. And I'm fine with dying relatively lot. I maximise my spells with shard scepter refresher and lens. Having a long range chain on their carry with extra snakes is really brutal, from safe distsnce.
The goal of this build and strategy is to have map advantage and win fights. Surviving is not the main goal you can get MVP with a 2-12 score. Enable your team in teamfights, push the map constantly, when it makes sense you're a support not a farmer and get too the late game with devastating double ult in their base. Only ult hugh ground when your team is strong to fight them. So it's 2 mass serpent wards vs 1 tower. Don't just throw the ult up and have it easily farmed by their ranged cores. With BOT you can also opportunostically rat their base with ults and take towers or racks and even Throne.
Don't wait for tormentor for shard. Buy it when it's in order. You are a support and don't mind spending gold on shard so that your cores get free +1400 from tormentor. Besides it's a crucial item for farming which also bosts your fighting and pushing abilities. Sharded chains into ether shock is a real flash farming tool. Don't take farm from your carries. You can also farm the jungle. Freely flash farm waves to push out but when your cores are near always let them take the gold.
It should take around 20 games to get comfortable with a hero and playstyle. And your WR should go up after that with the hero. You gey used to the build and know at what times in the game you got low hp, when you can farm ect. With BOT lens Talisman wand you are fragile but can move around will and disable them from the backlines. With scepters and talents your ult becomes really strong. Serpent talents also boost your sharded snakes a lot. Then when you get refresher it's very game changing. You can also use 1 or even 2 ults during a big team fight. Or 1 to win a fight then refresh it for the push. Mass serpent wards can be equally used for fights and pushes.
Talents - max regular skills before taking talents. + serpents reach. + hex damage amplify. + serpent durability (1 more hit). + serpent damage.
This play style enables map presence, pushing, flash farm and is serpent centric. Be fast and disable enemies from a distance. A lot of people will buy glimmer and blink.
Synergies and enemies : A classic combo is SS with Yugneraut as you can trap them and Yug spins. Riki is ban worthy. SS with orchid is strong vs Shaman but a Aoen fixes this, when the silence wears of you hex him then chain and keep running, often teammates are close and you could kill him. Bara SB is not a problem while he is chargin you just hex him. Spectre is ok too, when he shadow steps you you can hex him walk away with BOT and also se long range Chains. Also your hex insta destroys one of his illusions. If you are pos 4 a sniper carry is very hard to deal with but Rasta is almost exclusively played pos 5.
The whole playstyle is not about surviving but benefiting the team as much as possible. Catching opponents who are at a disatvantage for your team to jump in and gey the kill. Chaining their damage dealers. Ulting on top of heroes. Contributing. Dying is expected but the point is to get of many fight changing spells. Also saving allies by disabling whatever is trying to kill them. With constant warding, shard, BOT and ults you can mostly get pushing advantages on the map. Taking towers and pushing waves. Shard enables you too also farm very effectively. Be strategic with your mana and don't spend it all on farming. Occasionaly tp or walk back to the fountain when the situation is calm. Use clarities during times when going back is not the best option. Sharder chains farms much faster tyen ether shock. In between action you can just chain a creep camp and right click it. To be effective with nana and time.
2024.03.14 00:10 NoisyAnonymously I (23F) live with my two best friends Sam (24M) and Robert (25M), everything was fine until Robert set a camera up in my room, which Sam knew about for 3 months before admitting it to me. What am I supposed to even do here?
I’m going to have to preface with some context before I open this can of worms.
I (23f) live with two male roommates, Sam (24m) and Robert (25m).
Sam and I have been best friends since we were kids, and if you would’ve asked me a couple months ago, I’d tell you I’d trust this man with my life. After getting screwed over by my old roommate Gabby (that’s a whole different story in itself), I was left in a pinch to find a new roommate quick. Sam told me he was back in town after college, and looking to move more locally, so I asked him to move in with me to cut down on rent. This was around summer 2022, when rent prices were starting to skyrocket in my area. I was a little hesitant at first, because early on in our friendship he confessed he had a huge crush on me, and I turned him down. This caused a falling out that lasted a couple years. After reconnecting and talking to him about it, we were able to move past it and he assured those feelings were long gone. We lived together for a year, and within that year his feelings for me came back. It caused a lot of issues in the living situation, and we almost didn’t renew our lease with one another.
During that year, we met Robert. Robert was dating my ex roommate Gabby. To paint you a picture, Gabby was as disgusting on the inside as she was on the outside (and 100% of the reason why we didn’t get our rent deposit back). She was like season 2 Jerry from Rick and morty. Roping people in with a self victimizing complex and then screwing them over, only to cry wolf to the next person she leeches off of. She still owes me over 3k in rent expenses, since she’d rather blow her paychecks on shopping at the mall for useless decor. The thing with Gabby is that she was a hopeless romantic, with emphasis on hopeless. She would screenshot her conversations with Robert, send them to me, and ask what to respond with. I would sit there and help her orchestrate a perfect romantic response every time. They were absolutely smitten with each other, but he confided in me that she was completely different in person vs over text which is where this all starts going downhill. Oops. Well, I eventually cut Gabby off (finally) and Robert went with her. However, Sam was one of those guys that had a lot of girl friends and not a lot of guy friends, and he really missed the connection he had with Robert as they could talk about stuff he can’t talk to girls about. After a month or two, I reached out to Robert and suddenly, it was Sam, Robert, and I all hanging out without Gabby. We all hung out through the year, Robert dumped Gabby after realizing she was a lying mooch that wasn’t going anywhere with her life, and eventually (to kinda save Sam and mine own roommate situation) we invited Robert to live with us at the next apartment.
~~~ Backstory context over ~~~
Sam, Robert, and I have been living together for about 9 months at this point. I lost both my jobs prior to move in, and was living off of savings for 8 months. I could’ve lived off of it for about a year if I needed to, but Robert also lost his job about 3 months into our lease. That meant for about 5 months I was covering mine and Robert’s rent (why do I do this to myself?) The money was starting to run out, so I asked Robert if I could turn his room into a tattoo studio (since he regularly crashed on the couch or slept in the hammock on the balcony) and he could move his stuff into my room. He was more than willing, as he’s covered in tattoos himself, and I was giving him free tattoos in exchange for the room space. The night he moved his stuff into my room, I was out on a date with my new boyfriend, so it was just Sam and Robert at the apartment. According to Sam, the night Robert moved his stuff into my room 3 MONTHS AGO, he got a notification on his phone that a camera got added to the wifi. He immediately blocked it from the wifi, and said nothing about it for 3 months.
That brings us to last week. Robert and I finally got jobs, so Robert was at work (and planned to crash at his parents’ place after) and I had an off day where it was just Sam and I at the house. We had 3 TVs set up so we could watch anime while both playing Elden ring in the same room. I noticed there was some weird energy between Sam and Robert, but it was emanating off of Sam more than anything. I decided to question Sam, and after some pressure he finally told me about the camera. My. Heart. Fucking. Sank. Pardon my French. We immediately started tearing through my room trying to find it. After some searching, we found it inside one of those styrofoam mannequin heads, hidden under a mask.. Right above my bed, and it was plugged in. I felt super sick to my stomach, but I wanted all the answers before I started jumping to conclusions. I immediately called Robert, but his phone was going to voicemail over and over. Either indicating I was blocked, or his phone was dead. So I reached out to his sister through Instagram, who went and woke him up. She called me on Instagram and handed him the phone. As calmly as possible, I started questioning him about the camera, while my roommate was not being very calm.
Robert admitted to setting up the camera immediately, but said he was using it and the cord as a counterbalance to hold the mannequin head up so it wasn’t top heavy and falling off of the bookshelf it was on. That made somewhat sense, as the other two mannequin heads also had some counterbalance structure holding them up. He then told me he intentionally blocked it with black paper and although it was plugged in, there was no sound and it couldn’t see through the paper. I felt relieved for only a moment, until my roommate put the mask and the head together and realized that the black paper was unfortunately on the wrong side.
Robert says it was a mistake, but Sam brought up the fact that the black paper conveniently covers up the white of the mannequin head, so I wouldn’t be able to notice a difference in the eyes of the mask (as the camera lens was also black in the other eye). I still don’t believe Robert would do anything like this, as he has never expressed any romantic interest towards me, and never violated my privacy or trust before. Plus, he has been regularly helping out my parents lately, so I don’t understand how a man could look my family in the eye and do something like this. I really need some outsiders perspective, as I’m too close to the situation.
I’m also very upset at Sam, he did block the camera from wifi, but neglected to unplug it or tell me for 3 months in fear of “messing up the living situation” (and his explanation sounded more in his self interest than anything).
People of Reddit, help me out here, what should I make of this situation? I haven’t really been home since the news, and I don’t feel comfortable going back until my mind is clear.
Edit: the camera was one of those home security cameras that has a live feed and no SIM card. It was set up in his old room (that was before we turned it into the tattoo studio), and it was sitting in that mannequin head in his room just under a different mask. To give you an idea, he had it under a green skull Rasta mask in the old room, sitting inside his bookshelf, but then it was moved to hide under the red devil version of the Scream mask and moved to the top of the bookshelf. I told him before he moved his stuff in to make sure that camera was taken out and disabled, and he assured Sam and I that it was. Prior to all of this mess, I was told that it doesn’t have the ability to record and store videos unless Robert was watching it and hit record through the app. He assured me the app hasn’t been downloaded in months, and is swearing up and down that the camera was not intended for nefarious use. I’m going to take this to legaladvice. I just don’t know what to think or do, because I don’t want to destroy someone’s life if it ends up being an honest mistake. Let’s be real here, the man smokes a lot of that good green stuff, and it happened the same day he moved a ton of furniture around by himself and set up my tattoo studio for me. He could’ve just been a lazy dumb butt with it. Plus, his family is in the process of losing their house and 2 cars broke down, if I arrested or sued him, his life would be over. Plus, he owes me a total of $1,722.86 in bills and rent expenses. After losing over 3k to his ex girlfriend, I’m not so keen on losing the 1700. On top of that, if my parents found out, legal issues would be the least of his problems. I don’t know if this is important information, but I’m adding it in here. His dad is a cop, so he should know better, right?

2024.01.12 22:48 dealarr The Historicity of the Holy Bible

Dear God's people (If you had read this and understood now how this book had come about. Go on, share it with all the pastors and leaders of your organisation and see what they say. And if you are a Pastor(A Rasta Pasta, you have to Pasta Pasta) or a Leader, Truth and History shouldn't be hidden and should be discussed. This "Holy Bible" didn't fall from the sky, if it did, then sure, it is the undisputed Word of God).
If you knew the Truth about what happened in early Jerusalem days, how would you inform the brothers and sisters in the World about the Truth and by extension, why these angry "Natural disasters" are happening worldwide?
Thomas Jefferson: 3rd USA president in his letter to William Short: (Apostle) Paul was the first corrupter of the doctrines of Jesus. This is just one of many.
Mahatma Gandhi: I draw a great distinction between the Sermon on the Mount of Jesus and the Letters of Paul. Paul's Letters are a graft on Christ's teachings, Paul's own gloss apart from Christ's own experience." Two of many.
Say a heartfelt prayer to the All-Parent Above and Within us, to which the Ancient Romans called God. They put together a book called the "Holy Bible" by stealing Truth and History from the Israelites and calling that the “Old Testament”, while also plagiarising Gospel of the Holy Twelve to make their “New Testament”, amalgamated by Roman Emperor Constantine in 325 AD. They rebranded themselves to "Holy Roman Empire '' and changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday in 321 AD whilst corrupting most teachings of the Messiah, and waged war in His name, the King of Peace while introducing Paul the false apostle to say the right stuff in some Epistles, and relax the Law in others.
They forced it down the throats of all they conquered, it grew even after they themselves were diminished as a nation and became the Sunday worship it is today across most Christian churches across the world throughout the last 1700 years, creating many conflicting denominations due to its intended contradictions to divide and "conquer".
When enough countries had believed in their ways, it rolled on like a Mexican wave in all aspects of Life ("Religion", law, politics, daily lives, food production/habits, most countries model their Laws after the Ten Commandments). That is why today, no miracles happen in church. For their doctrine, amalgamated in 325 AD, is corrupted. Including meat eating. But the Almighty had given us Conscience, knowing what is Good and Evil. The book contains both, some were allowed to be corrupted, some are not. Just like the way Job's suffering was negotiated in Heaven before being executed on earth, as in what is allowed and what is not.
The Fulfillment of the Law by "Jesus" in uncorrupted verse in Matthew 5:17 - 2017 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear (Listen to this emphasis), not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. (This is applicable until heaven and earth disappears, as mentioned in verse 18).
Based on this, why do we need a New Testament then? Romans 10:4 by Paulitician,
“Christ” is the end of the law for righteousness for those that believe.
Who is lying here? “Christ” or Paul? Others claim “Jesus” was only preaching to the Jews, who then was “Jesus” talking to in Matthew 24:14, Mark 13:10 And the Gospel must be preached to all Nations (This was before Paul's time obviously).
Jeremiah 8:8: How can we say we are wise, and we have the Law of God. When the lying pens of the scribes (Corrupted Scribes) had produced a deception.
You can search engine “Jesus” vs Paul and you will find most if not all the contradictions already uploaded in plain sight, so you don't have to go through the book itself. Obviously there will be Paul defenders/apolegetics/etc, that's just how the enemy had intended to conquer and divide the nations through religion. A Paulitician will appeal to specific groups of people while others find it repugnant, hence there are now 45000+ different denominations in the world, and there was only one Messiah, surely something is wrong.
Start and research the Gospel of the Nazarenes/Holy Twelve (Same book) on Saturday (Exodus 31:16, Matt 5:17-20), other churches had started to do the same recently in keeping the Original Laws, keep it labor free and animal meat free if your situation allows. The Catholic Church that was started by Peter and later corrupted by Rome even came out recently and admit they changed the Saturday Sabbath to Sunday, knowing no one cares now since it’s too hard to change as everyone now is stuck to habits since 1700 years ago. We know the 7th Day Sabbath Saturday never changed until Ancient Rome announced it in 321 AD, since they even begged the authorities to take down the Messiah's body before the Sabbath Day on Good Friday, the day of crucifixion. What more proof do we need?
Keep the fourth commandment as it is decreed in Exodus 31:16, otherwise Laws like killing, stealing, lying and what not which is part of the Ten are all voided. Can we kill, steal and lie our way to Heaven let alone keeping our Righteousness above the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees?
Yesu (Jesus’s real Hebraic name) was actually nice to all animals, protected them from hunters, did not eat meat or spread fish but fruits and bread to the thousands, He came to put away flesh eating and blood sacrifices, circumcision, while bearing the first Commandment Adam and Eve broke. Since they were tempted by satan and did not sin directly, hence our All-Parent took it upon themselves instead of obliterating us.

Clothed with the Sun - Anna Bonus Kingsford
IN a vision which was given to me last night, it was represented to me that the common view of Paul's character and position with regard to the primitive Church is a totally false one; and the persons who made the communication which I am about to relate, appeared to me to have been personally acquainted with Paul, and to be thoroughly familiar with the events occurring at the time of his apostleship. They told me, with evident indignation, that the Christian Church of to-day entirely misunderstands the relationship really existing between the apostles whom Christ had instructed and elected as his missionaries, and the converted Hebrew sacerdotalist. "It is amazing," they said, "that your Church can read in the writings extant concerning our relations with Paul the account of the mistrust, suspicion, and disfavour with which we always regarded him, and not see that he was never one with us. The very leader and chief of our circle withstood him to the face again and again, as though he had been an enemy of the Church; and on one occasion he was forced to fly from the brethren by night and by stratagem, so great and so bitter was the indignation his view of the faith aroused among us who had been the Lord's friends, and who knew the truth as Paul never saw it. For he imported into that pure and simple rule of life a mass of Levitical and Rabbinical usages and beliefs which we had shaken from us as the dust from our feet. He sunk the realities of the Gospel of Jesus under an overwhelming weight of hard sayings and sacerdotal misrepresentations. He, who had never known the Master as he was, took upon himself to distort his image into that of a strange God whom we had not known. Nor could we recognise in his garbled version of the beautiful and willing martyrdom of the man whom we had so dearly loved, a single trait of his character, or the least resemblance to the doctrine he had taught us. What we had seen and known as the pure and perfect love of a ready death, bravely borne for conscience' sake, Paul presented to us in a new and unlovely guise as the sacrifice of a victim to appease the anger of the God whom Jesus called his Father and ours. Out of that which had been for us a simple rule of life, a simple purging of the old faith, Paul erected the strange and elaborate system which is called 'the scheme of the Atonement.' For us and our Master there had been no 'scheme'; God was reconciled to man by love, and not by sacrifice. But Paul would have a 'new religion,' 1 and a creed hard to understand; and he left to the world a Christianity of his own which we knew not, but which is yours to-day. And in this he did us greater evil and detriment than if he had persecuted and slain us all physically. For by his false conversion he deceived the world and drowned the truth by a flood of strange doctrines. For this we were all against him, and never acknowledged his apostleship, being persuaded that he knew not Christ nor the faith which Christ taught.
In Christ or Paul?, by Rev. V.A. Holmes-Gore:
"Let the reader contrast the true Christian standard with that of Paul and he will see the terrible betrayal of all that the Master taught. . . . For the surest way to betray a great Teacher is to misrepresent his message. . . . That is what Paul and his followers did, and because the Church has followed Paul in his error it has failed lamentably to redeem the world. . . . The teachings given by the blessed Master Christ, which the disciples John and Peter and James, the brother of the Master, tried in vain to defend and preserve intact were as utterly opposed to the Pauline Gospel as the light is opposed to the darkness."
The great theologian Soren Kierkegaard, in The Journals:
"In the teachings of Christ, religion is completely present tense: Jesus is the prototype and our task is to imitate him, become a disciple. But then through Paul came a basic alteration. Paul draws attention away from imitating Christ and fixes attention on the death of Christ The Atoner. What Martin Luther, in his reformation, failed to realize is that even before Catholicism, Christianity had become degenerate at the hands of Paul. Paul made Christianity the religion of Paul, not of Christ. Paul threw the Christianity of Christ away, completely turning it upside down, making it just the opposite of the original proclamation of Christ"
The brilliant theologian Ernest Renan, in his book Saint Paul:
"True Christianity, which will last forever, comes from the gospel words of Christ not from the epistles of Paul. The writings of Paul have been a danger and a hidden rock, the causes of the principal defects of Christian theology."
Will Durant, in his Caesar and Christ:
"Paul created a theology of which none but the vaguest warrants can be found in the words of Christ. . . . Through these interpretations Paul could neglect the actual life and sayings of Jesus, which he had not directly known. . . . Paul replaced conduct with creed as the test of virtue. It was a tragic change."
Robert Frost, winner of the Pulitzer prize for poetry in 1924,1931,1937 and 1943, in his "A Masque of Mercy":
"Paul he's in the Bible too. He is the fellow who theologized Christ almost out of Christianity. Look out for him."
James Baldwin, the most noted black American author of this century, in his book The Fire Next Time:
"The real architect of the Christian church was not the disreputable, sunbaked Hebrew (Jesus Christ) who gave it its name but rather the mercilessly fanatical and self-righteous Paul."
Martin Buber, the most respected Jewish philosopher of this century, in Two Types of Faith:
"The Jesus of the Sermon on the Mount is completely opposed to Paul."
The famous mystic, poet and author, Kahlil Gibran, in Jesus the Son of Man:
"This Paul is indeed a strange man. His soul is not the soul of a free man. He speaks not of Jesus nor does he repeat His Words. He would strike with his own hammer upon the anvil in the Name of One whom he does not know."
The famous theologian, Helmut Koester, in his The Theological Aspects of Primitive Christian Heresy: "Paul himself stands in the twilight zone of heresy. In reading Paul, one immediately encounters a major difficulty. Whatever Jesus had preached did not become the content of the missionary proclamation of Paul. . . . Sayings of Jesus do not play a role in Paul 's understanding of the event of salvation. . . . Paul did not care at all what Jesus had said. . . . Had Paul been completely successful very little of the sayings of Jesus would have survived."
Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States and author of the Declaration of Independence in his "Letter to William Short":
"Paul was the first corrupter of the doctrines of Jesus."
Renowned English philosopher Jeremy Bentham, in his Not Paul But Jesus:
"It rests with every professor of the religion of Jesus to settle within himself to which of the two religions, that of Jesus or that of Paul, he will adhere."
The eminent theologian Ferdinand Christian Baur, in his Church History of the First Three Centuries:
"What kind of authority can there be for an 'apostle' who, unlike the other apostles, had never been prepared for the apostolic office in Jesus' own school but had only later dared to claim the apostolic office on the basis on his own authority? The only question comes to be how the apostle Paul appears in his Epistles to be so indifferent to the historical facts of the life of Jesus. . . . He bears himself but little like a disciple who has received the doctrines and the principles which he preaches from the Master whose name he bears."
The great Mahatma Gandhi, the prophet of nonviolence who won freedom from England for India in an essay titled "Discussion on Fellowship":
"I draw a great distinction between the Sermon on the Mount of Jesus and the Letters of Paul. Paul's Letters are a graft on Christ's teachings, Paul's own gloss apart from Christ's own experience."
Carl Jung, the famous Swiss psychiatrist, in his essay "A Psychological Approach to Dogma":
"Saul's [Paul's name before his conversion] fanatical resistance to Christianity. . . . was never entirely overcome. It is frankly disappointing to see how Paul hardly ever allows the real Jesus of Nazareth to get a word in."
George Bernard Shaw, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1925; in his Androcles and the Lion:
"There is not one word of Pauline Christianity in the characteristic utterances of Jesus. . . . There has really never been a more monstrous imposition perpetrated than the imposition of Paul's soul upon the soul of Jesus. . . . It is now easy to understand how the Christianity of Jesus. . . . was suppressed by the police and the Church, while Paulinism overran the whole western civilized world, which was at that time the Roman Empire, and was adopted by it as its official faith."
Albert Schweitzer, winner of the 1952 Nobel Peace Prize, called "one of the greatest Christians of his time," philosopher, physician, musician, clergyman, missionary, and theologian in his The Quest for the Historical Jesus and his Mysticism of Paul:
"Paul. . . . did not desire to know Christ. . . . Paul shows us with what complete indifference the earthly life of Jesus was regarded. . . . What is the significance for our faith and for our religious life, the fact that the Gospel of Paul is different from the Gospel of Jesus?. . . . The attitude which Paul himself takes up towards the Gospel of Jesus is that he does not repeat it in the words of Jesus, and does not appeal to its authority. . . . The fateful thing is that the Greek, the Catholic, and the Protestant theologies all contain the Gospel of Paul in a form which does not continue the Gospel of Jesus, but displaces it."
William Wrede, in his excellent book, Paul:
"The oblivious contradictions in the three accounts given by Paul in regard to his conversion are enough to arouse distrust. . . . The moral majesty of Jesus, his purity and piety, his ministry among his people, his manner as a prophet, the whole concrete ethical-religious content of his earthly life, signifies for Paul's Christology nothing whatever. . . . The name 'disciple of Jesus' has little applicability to Paul. . . . Jesus or Paul: this alternative characterizes, at least in part, the religious and theological warfare of the present day"
Rudolf Bultman, one of the most respected theologians of this century, in his Significance of the Historical Jesus for the Theology of Paul:
"It is most obvious that Paul does not appeal to the words of the Lord in support of his. . . . views. when the essentially Pauline conceptions are considered, it is clear that Paul is not dependent on Jesus. Jesus' teaching is -- to all intents and purposes -- irrelevant for Paul."
Walter Bauer, another eminent theologian, in his Orthodoxy and Heresy in Earliest Christianity:
"If one may be allowed to speak rather pointedly the Apostle Paul was the only Arch-Heretic known to the apostolic age."
H.L. Mencken, called one of the most influential American writers of the first half of the 20th century, in his Notes on Democracy:
"Is it argued by any rational man that the debased Christianity cherished by the mob in all the Christian countries of today, has any colourable likeness to the body of ideas preached by Christ?
"The plain fact is that this bogus Christianity has no more relation to the system of Christ than it has to Aristotle. It is the invention of Paul and his attendant rabble-rousers--a body of men exactly comparable to the corpse of evangelical pastors of today, which is to say, a body devoid of sense and lamentably indifferent to common honesty. The mob, having heard Christ, turned against Him. His theological ideas were too logical and plausible for it, and His ethical ideas were enormously too austere. What it yearned for was the old comfortable balderdash under a new and gaudy name, and that is precisely what Paul offered it. He borrowed from all the wandering dervishes and body-snatchers of Asia Minor, and flavoured the stew with remnants of Greek demonology. The result was a code of doctrines so discordant and so nonsensical that no two men since, examining it at length, have ever agreed upon its precise meaning. Paul remains the arch theologian of the mob. His turgid and witless metaphysics make Christianity bearable to men who would otherwise be repelled by Christ's simple and magnificent reduction of the duties of man to the duties of a gentle-man."
Have you all considered that Paul was a double agent from Rome because Rome at the time couldn't really go to war against their own being converted. Plus he was also a Roman citizen.
Acts 11:25-26 25 Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, 26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.
The Messiah and the Twelve never called themselves "Christians". Nor did the Messiah ever gave Himself the title "Christ". Good scribes of Acts had tried to hint under the oppressive power of Rome at the time by even quoting Paul as Saul, trying to suggest the chameleon never changed colors.
Do you remember that when the skies went dark and there was an earthquake literally when The Messiah was crucified that all the Roman Centurions and Legionnaires were present there.
The amount of word of mouth that would have proceeded from there alone would have converted entire barracks. Now you are all Pastors and Preachers you are very well aware that the Twelve were instructed to pass on the Gospel to the world prior to mr. Paulitician.
Allow me to present a case again. The Catholic Church that Peter started but corrupted by Rome later recently even announced that they changed the Sabbath, because they know no one cares since everyone had been done over and it be too hard to change this Sunday worship that's been going on since 1700 years ago in 321AD. Constantine announced an empire wide Sabbath Saturday change to Sunday, the day they worship the Sun due to one of their many polytheistic practise. If your PM today suddenly announced a country wide day change to something, it had to be something that many if not most are keeping isn't it? Otherwise people would think said PM is nuts for announcing gibberish.
They were all keeping the 7th Day Sabbath Saturday then because Good Friday is crucifixion day, and they even begged to have The Messiah removed from the Cross before the Saturday Sabbath the next day.
This is not too complicated to understand right? Get right with the Creator and keep the 7th Day Saturday Sabbath and be blessed forever as promised in Exodus 31:16. All those who keep such Laws are considered Israelites. And it is part of Commandment Number Four. If that is voided then so is killing, stealing, lying and what not.
Paul said in one of his epistles don't let anyone judge you on what food, drink, Sabbath you keep. Yeap, the Creator cannot judge you too because paul said so. Yeap. No difference to the class of lies spouted in the Garden of Eden.
May the Creator shed all of you Light so a proper revival can be brought onto the New Earth. Alleluia forever.

2023.12.28 18:33 nonsignificantbug Umrah Tips

I went for Umrah recently Alhamdulillah and here are some tips for those who want to go. Please know These are my opinions and you can have different tips or situation so do whatever suits you. 1. Don't try to stick together, it causes problems for everyone and your focus also goes away from the prayers. Instead the moment you enter Haram or Mosques give each other a point and time, let's say I will meet you at A point after two hours then focus on your prayers. It's easier and hassle free. Whoever reaches there first waits for others to come. 2. While choosing points choose the one with the biggest board or easier names, ours were usually KFC, an emergency hospital etc. if one forgets where it is just saying KFC Rasta, KFC direction would get you directions so don't worry about it. 3. If you want to identify each other instantly then wear hats but of different colors, I was wearing pink hat most of the trip and my family, especially my mother was at ease due to that. She said it helped her find me instantly. Hence, if you are going with elderlies please do something like that. Choose uncommon colors, like green, orange, pink, red, etc. 4. Have 1 extra slipper with you, you might lose it in mosque or you might break it then to avoid the shopping spree just for a comfortable slipper you can just keep two from home. We took two and both of them were used. Hence get that extra slipper. While we are talking about slippers make sure to get one that's very comfortable and I mean VERY. You would have to walk a lot. 5. Get a sunblock but choose the one with moisturizer. Nivea has one and others might too. The weather is dry so you need that moisturizer. 6. Keep a small and light bag and keep sanitizer, a snack, tissue, and a water bottle with you. Also don't forget slipper bags, you need those. 7. Don't take Quran with you from home country, every mosque has Quran so just use those. They have ones with bigger print as well. 8. Please be patient you are at a holy place doing a holy task don't push and fight. I would see so many small and quarrels there it was wild. 9. Get your medication, even one that you don't use everyday but you do whenever you get really sick, buy that keep it in your luggage just in case. We bought all the medicines, we didn't need it Alhamdulillah but there were other people who needed the exact prescriptions so we gave it to them However you might not be that lucky so take your prescription medicine with you. Even the ones you take in emergency or antibiotics. 10. Take Rawdah appointment from Nusuk app as soon as you can. Keep checking it once your plan is made and you know the dates, get that permission. Many people weren't able to get it unfortunately. They don't allow you inside without permission so please do take it ASAP. 11. Lastly, stay hydrated.
good luck and if anyone needs any help or have questions feel free to contact. Thanks. P.S. it was cold in Madina but not so much in Mecca so it's a good idea to keep at least 1 item of warm clothing with you, more if you are sensitive to cold.

2023.08.27 11:55 Typical_Room_4797 Weet a really strange guy, maybe he is supernatural

So me and my girl were invited to a small pool party, and there were a guy, we will call him Jake for now. He had rasta hair, Jamaican style clothing. He was kind of strange, but first I thought nothing of it. We were the last to arrive, and in the first hour Jake was in complete silence, like he would analyze us. This was the first time we met him. After the hour went by, Jake started to talk to us very friendly. The party went by, we had small talks, and Jake was a little over interested in planned tattoos, and nicknames, like he did not really ask questions, but when we got to these topics, he went crazy, asking about every small detail. Later we went inside, and had a convo about zodiacs (the host likes this topic, she knows much about it). When we got to Jake, and the girls asked him, when he was born, he was very quick to tell the answer, and i am sure he lied. He said an hour and minute, that made the zodiac charts show really good things about him. As i told, i was clueless, he might be a bad person, I ignored the strangeness, so I invited him to smoke some za together. I saw my girl being little worried, but she did not tell me anything about it, so i thought, we will talk about it when only the two of us are there. Here started the really strange part. First I asked where should we smoke it, Jake said go to his place. I did not really feel comfortable with going there, for the first time we met, so I recommended a cool spot nearby, he straight up ignored it and told another spot. It was a nice place, we went there in the end. Jake was taking every chance of inviting us over to his place. He told us, we should not be afraid of bones, because his stepdad is a bone preparator, and they have plenty of bones, and embrios at home, and he was proud of having a real persons skull as well. As he told, they had upside down crosses, and bible nailed on the wall, but "that was nothing, just his stepdad's style". Jake told us, maybe his friend will join us. I was ok with that. We started smoking, and his friend was nowhere, the whole time (turned out later, he was at Jake's place). We had some more small talks, and in the end, we took Jake to his home, and there as goodbye, he told, he is really thankful, he will be thankful, just go in his house so he can be generous with us. After Jake left, my girl said leave the scene fast, because she could feel Jake's aura. She said, Jake had very negative energys, and like she would say Jake was supernatural, or something, but for sure not a human being. When we arrived home, we noticed, that he left some stuff in my car in a bag, it was his swimming pants and towel seemingly. The strange thing is that he did not ask about it, did not tell to give it back, he just left it in my car and he was ok with it being there (we will give it to the host of the party today), the party was two days ago, and no texts or anything from him, telling us to give it back to him. Last thing is that, we could not remember neither Jake's facial features, neither the color of his eyes. So the question is, what do you think he is? Can he be supernatural? If yes, what is he. Or maybe he is just a strange guy?

2023.05.31 20:00 MightyRasta [Online] [5E] [Saturday or Sunday evenings] Seeking experienced players for a homebrew world.

* This game has been filled. Thank you all for your inquiries.
The citizens of the glacial north have long depended on the trade routes that provide a means of communication and commerce for the smaller villages and the distant cities that lie in the tall mountains. The routes have been become exceedingly dangerous over the past few months. Whole caravans have been wiped out by what many believe to be a frozen fiend lurking in the shadows. Livestock has been taken or eaten leaving many destitute for the coming winter months. The king of Terythia has heard many of the cries of his people and seeks to end this beast and its destruction. A number of hopeful and brave individuals have answered this call to action and have set to vanquish this monster. All have failed. Soon, people stopped showing up, unwilling to meet the same fate. The king was left with little option but to close off many of the routes towards the northern mountains. Leaving many of the citizens to seek shelter south as the frost begins to slowly form along the countryside. There are those who refused to abandon their homes and will face the winters as their ancestors before them have. This beast still lurks the mountains slaying all in its path, and as the winter set in, many of the villages that chose to stay have been lost to the decimation this creature made. The citizens of Cloibra have been hit the hardest by this beast. And are asking in a desperate plea to anyone that can stop this creature and restore peace to the mountains once more. The promise of an old Dwarven treasure has been rumored and spread through the land. Although many have heard of this prize, only a few brave souls came to answer this plea. Hoping they can be the ones to succeed where others have failed. You are one of those brave souls, seeking this treasure promised. And the hopes of bringing trade back to the northern mountains.
This campaign will begin at level 5. Please either pm or write below your interest in the game, a little about your history with DND. And what I can expect from a player such as yourself. My campaigns have a balanced mix of RP & combat. So there is no need to feel to lean one way or the other. I am looking for persons passionate about exploring a rich world and working as a team to uncover this frozen waste's mystery. I currently am seeking 4-6 players, This game will be weekly. Either Saturday or Sunday evenings. This time and/or date can change if the group decides on a more comfortable day of playing. I look forward to chatting with everyone and Ill see you in the snow.

2023.05.16 17:40 AneeshRai7 Song to Song: ‘Sapno se Bhare Naina’ and the Unending Road to Stardom, in Luck By Chance

Song to Song: ‘Sapno se Bhare Naina’ and the Unending Road to Stardom, in Luck By Chance
For a long time, the cruel joke in the Indian Film Industry circles has been that hordes of young men and women make their way to Mumbai daily for unattainable stardom. Stardom has such a compelling allure, that aspirants often forget the struggle behind the lucky few that make it big in this profession.
Flitting across the myriad of personalities that make up the Hindi Film Industry, Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance is ultimately an ode to these strugglers, the ones who make it and the ones who don’t. This is true of the dual protagonists Vikram Jai Singh and Sona Mishra, whose quests the narrative charts parallel to one another.
‘Sapno se Bhare Naina’ acts as a cautionary tale of the perilous journey the two characters must take to achieve their dreams. It occurs at the most crucial point in the change of their trajectories and paths away from one another, as lovers and kindred spirits.
Navigating toxic gender and sexual politics, Sona Mishra arrives at an opportunity she has longed for these past three years. However, the seedy producer who offered her this chance snatches it away in a turn of cruel fate. Left questioning her self-worth and the cost of her dreams, she turns to Vikram for comfort and answers.
His advice comes harsh but truthful and inspirational, she came to be an actor and no one else can decide how she will make it. It’s a clear reminder that we choose what and how our successes and failures are measured.
As the opening guitar riff of the song begins, one can hauntingly also see that Vikram isn’t necessarily consoling her but also charging himself. Where she’s seeing heartache, Vikram is unassumingly on the precipice of a great opportunity with his next audition.
The music and his own words inspire a burst of confidence, deflated the moment he enters the dingy audition room stuffed with young men like him, seeking the same mythic stardom. As he ever so quietly removes his cool guy shades, the strong but slyly playful words of the song begin.
The lyrics are filled with sharp imagery; “Baghiya baghiya balak bhage, Titli phir bhi haath na laage. (A child races around a large garden, but he is unable to catch one Butterfly). “Iss Pagle ko kaun bataye, doondh raha hai joh tu jag mein. Koi joh paye toh, mann mein hi paye.” (Who will tell this fool that what he seeks from the world, if anyone finds it they find it only in their mind.)
The first line puts into perspective Vikram’s chase for his dreams as if they were a non-existent myth. It’s condescending, warning Vikram that his desires can only truly exist in his mind.
“Mann”, which can be translated to both the mind and heart (as well as soul) plays a big part in this equation. It acts both as a way to say that only in dreams does such stardom exist while also quietly soothing Vikram, that the void he feels he needs to fill with this dream can truly be filled from within his heart. These lyrics matched with a soft techno beat, are periodically interrupted by a stinging reverb as Vikram takes stock of the competition surrounding him.
This is followed timely by the ‘Mukhda’ (the key stanza) of the song; “Sapno se Bhare Naina, toh Neend hai na Chaina.” Roughly translated, this is the underlining message laid bare that there is no sleep or peace for Vikram (or any struggler) whose eyes are filled with only this dream.
That contentment eludes Vikram as he scans all his competitors; some with swag, others barely held together with torn shoes. The edit cautiously contrasts this with individuals giving their audition in front of the camera. It dissects the practical reality of the audition process and how the waiting can become suffocating within a melting pot of insecurity and desperation.
It evokes the image of an interview Ryan Gosling gave once, how auditioning for roles in LA was almost a surreal experience. Gosling felt absurd to be stuck in a room with clones, all listening as each aspiring actor performed their audition. It built up both anticipation and nervousness, as rather than focus on how he would approach the audition material; Gosling was stuck on how better the preceding actor approached the script.
Vikram is witness to this as anticipation for his turn builds with audition after audition, despite once again the vocals calling out to him to be cautious.
“Aisi dagar koi agar joh apnaye, har raah ke woh anth pe rasta hi paaye. Dhoop ka rasta joh pair jalaye. Modh toh aaye chaoon na aaye. Raahi jo chalta hai, chalta hi jaaye. Koi nahi hai joh kahin usse samjhaye.”
There is no protection from the struggles he walks this road on; every end or turn to it reveals more of a path. Notwithstanding in success, ultimately Vikram will be forced to tackle the following climb and the one after that to continue fulfilling his dream.
Ultimately this is where the chanting voice of Shankar Mahadevan conducts us, as Vikram’s nervousness bubbles up at the sight of an Alpha Male. When a new aspirant walks into the room, his build and confidence present a direct challenge to any chance Vikram thought he might have had until now.
“Sukh hai alag aur chain alag hai, par joh yeh dekhe woh nain alag hai. Chain toh hai apna, sukh hai paraye,” laments Mahadevan as the song hits a crescendo.
It’s a final desperate attempt to make Vikram understand that Peace and happiness are sisters but ultimately different; peace can be our own, but happiness will always come and go.
With this, the camera that had so far been tracking this packed chamber through Vikram’s eyes; now squeeze him into a close-up, as he stares into the bathroom mirror psyching himself up. The pressure builds and as the room empties, it is Vikram’s turn to bat.
There is harmony in not giving to his chase but the main stanza rears its ugly head to close out the song. As we know, they sing dreams come to those that yearn for them, at the cost of peace. Vikram won’t find rest on this endless road until he has pursued his dream towards stardom and not even after that.

Aple Dentist Dental Clinic, a reputable dental clinic in Pune, offers comprehensive and professional tooth cavity treatment to patients of all ages.
Aple Dentist Dental Clinic takes a systematic approach to tooth cavity treatment, beginning with a thorough dental examination and diagnosis. The skilled dental professionals at the clinic will carefully assess your teeth, gums, and mouth to identify the presence of cavities. Once the cavities are diagnosed, the dental professionals at Aple Dentist Dental Clinic will develop a customized treatment plan tailored to your specific dental needs. The treatment plan may vary depending on factors such as the size, location, and severity of the cavities.

The clinic provides various types of dental fillings, including amalgam fillings, composite fillings, and glass ionomer fillings. The choice of filling material will depend on factors such as the location of the cavity, esthetic concerns, and patient preference. In cases where the cavity has progressed and reached the inner layer of the tooth called the pulp, a root canal treatment may be necessary. The tooth is then restored with a dental crown to protect it from further damage.
For larger cavities or teeth with extensive damage, dental crowns or inlays/onlays may be recommended. Aple Dentist Dental Clinic offers high-quality dental crowns and inlays/onlays made from durable materials such as porcelain, ceramic, or metal.
