I am having a lot of difficulty avoiding bedtime-procrastination. I think I feel I don't have enough time in the day for stuff I want to do, so I spend too much time at night doing this stuff, causing me to stay up extremely late.
In general I have difficulties with routines and doing the "essential" things, which maybe is due to bad habits I've formed from being depressed or generally unmotivated in the past. I've made a lot of progress, but the bedtime-procrastination, I just can't seem to figure it out. I also don't have a job or many obligations right now, aside from taking care of my garden, which contributes to me being so unorganized. Do you guys have any ideas to improve this?

Made a funny, harmless post this morning. Next thing I know I’m walking past my 76 year old coworker’s desk and see him looking at porn. Almost walked away but I confronted him and now I quit, right fucking after I got a huge raise. Chaos is happening in my firm right now. I’m the only Paralegal.
A few weeks ago I found a picture of suggestive words with pictures of naked women on my desk (very small at the top of the page, like a runoff of the words of the previous page printed). I knew it was him but didn’t tell my boss (his brother-in-law). Now this happened today and I was NOT fucking dismissing it. He was following me all morning downstairs, in the lobby, outside, in the elevator, begging me to not tell our boss. I dismissed him every time and just couldn’t not tell him. He’s been calling and texting me even after.
Sounds like he’s done this before and my boss still keeps him. “Oh he had a blocker on there so he’d stop.” Then “well, I can’t fire my brother-in-law.” “He’s a bachelor.” His wife/my coworker’s sister says otherwise and that he’s canned if I stay. Which means they’ll keep him if I leave. He has a fucking problem and my boss doesn’t fucking care.
There are a lot worse things that could happen to me, but come on. This is a fucking lawsuit waiting to happen. I already have trauma with this shit and now it’s even worse. I put up a fight with every single word of my boss trying to dismiss it. This isn’t a pity post or wanting praise, just a reminder to not fucking deal with this shit. I couldn’t let this slide knowing what so many of us women (and others) deal with. I respect my boss and am not looking to ruin his life as he’s already very elderly, but if anyone has any advice at all, let me know. I’m gonna be so. Fucking. Broke.

I made this post yesterday and there was a bunch of confusion about what any of it meant. There seems to be recognition that progressives don't offer a competing model to the right's Peterson or Tate or Rogan, but there's little agreement on what a competing model should look like.
Rather than discussion "how", why don't we just start crowdsourcing advice and see what shakes out? I've been looking at /AskMen, where there's an endless amount of questions from young men. Each of these questions is an opportunity to provide actionable, positive advice that competes directly with the ideas coming from the manosphere. These questions I selected came directly off the front page of that subreddit today. I didn't do any digging, but there are hundreds and hundreds of questions like this.
I found comments in each of these threads that I thought demonstrated three different categories: 1) Manosphere guidance, 2) low-effort progressive vagueness, and 3) some good, actionable guidance that is grounded in virtue and aligns with progressive ideas.
How do guys just "be confident"
Manosphere answer: "Yeah that’s BS. Be hot and rich. The whole confident thing is to separate ugly guys and poor guys from hot rich guys. “Confident” is some BS in order to not appear shallow. Which many women are but can’t admit it."
Low-effort progressive model (not very actionable): "Being confident is about being unapologetically you, without being an asshole about it."
Model with actionable content, based in virtue and consistent with progressive ideas: "Look for me confidence comes from putting effort into myself. I workout, dress well, eat well, make sure to always smell good, be clean, and I always strive to improve."

Hello! I am Male, 19 years and I wanted to ask what is the best way to live life? There are many ways to live in my opinion and everybody has to find his way but I am not sure which one would give me a happy look back and thinking “damn I had a good life”. Working hard and live later You work to become a good employee or boss and maybe get a lot of money ( but you sacrifice your young age and experience) Living know and don’t care what comes at you You travel around, meet new people when you young but will it pay off later?Or do I just get lost in a 9-5 with less money? I am right know on a way to find myself and I’m lost ngl. Hopefully somebody wants to say something about this.

I hope this demonstrates a little bit how there's a significant difference between providing "actionable actual guidance based on virtue and progressive ideas" and simply stating some obvious outcome like "dont be an asshole" or "dont be toxic".
Young men NEED help and guidance, and they are eager to follow direction and take action. We can give that to them.

I recently met a guy through i dating app and have no clue what happened to me. We began texting and eventually met up after a week. Even though the date was short i enjoyed it very much to the point i cant stop thinking about him. Ive been on plenty dates before and I didn’t feel like this with my previous partners/situation ships. Its making me feel clingy and embarrassed. First time here. I used to be a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk owner, until it was totaled out a couple of weeks ago.
I'm looking to pick up a Wrangler Unlimited in the Sahara or Rubicon trim. I drive out West once/twice a year and spend time in Utah driving through the Uintah and Henry Mountains, where a 4x4 is generally required. etc., and want something that I can mod if I want to or leave as stock. I only drive about 4k miles a year right now, but will probably drive more in the future as I find more time to spend outside. I'm not one to rock climb or go driving through rivers or anything too terribly adventurous like that. I don't know that I need the capabilities of a Rubicon, unless you guys know something I don't which is probable, but I know that the Ruby is more capable offroad than the Sahara. Ride may be important, though, if there is a significant difference..
So, which year do you all believe the most reliable year for the Rubicon/Sahara to be?

I’ve been in a rough spot the last couple of weeks over an important friendship I had that was on the verge of becoming more.. before I ruined everything.
We met at a bar we both frequent, where she recently started working at in the kitchen. We met about four months ago and hit it off as friends. Enjoying griping over online dating dates, shooting pool and people watching. She’s 30.
About three months in, after breaking off a short term thing she had going, she starting getting sweet with me. We became closer. We’d meet up there twice a week, texting everyday. She’s a big texter and I was always happy for the conversation. She eventually told me how I was really great and that she loved me. She’d reiterate that along with other nice things like missing me and looking forward to the next time we’d go up there. I reciprocated of course, after allowing my walls to come down because I really believed her and had spent a lot of time together and talking about things.
A few weeks ago she suggested that next time we meet up on that Tuesday, we should talk about us and maybe start really dating. To talk in person and really see if that was something we both wanted. I said I’d love to do that. It really feels like it grew organically. I was more than happy just being her friend. After she suggested that, and after a couple times where she kissed me after a couple of our usual me walking her to her car moments. Needless to say, I’ve really caught feelings the more it seemed to be heading in the direction of being together.
I started taking a medication for my blood pressure a couple of weeks ago, that will come into play soon. I’ve been really careful about my drinking on account of it.
Anyway, we meet up a week and a half ago with intention of talking more about how we felt about things. This night she got caught up in playing pool and chatting with others.. so she never came and sat down long enough for us to really talk. That annoyed me a bit because of it being her idea to broach the subject, in person that night, and simply playing pool instead. Seems like both could’ve happened. But I let that go. Fast forward to the following Friday, where we both talked the whole week about it and talking in person again about it. Her shift ran two hours over, and by the time she had come sit by me I had been drinking a bit. Someone sent me a shot of tequila, which I really don’t do shots anymore, but was in a good mood and drank it. She seemed really tired, understandably, just getting off of work, so I asked if she’d like to wait to talk about us for another time. She said yes. I accepted that and things were going okay after that.
Maybe a half hour later, the lights went out. I remember nothing after that. Which is scary because I don’t remember going home, which I’m ashamed of because that isn’t responsible. I woke up the next morning and looked at our chat history and I just was going off on her for all kinds of stupid stuff. No memory of sending any of it. From the little she did tell me, we walked to our cars and I got really upset that she wouldn’t go home with me. The texts I sent after I got home are more of the same. I read all of that and my heart stopped. Such a scary thing, a majority of it was not how I felt about her. She didn’t deserve that at all. At 39 years old I’ve never blacked out from any amounts of drinking and can only assume it’s the medication in combination with the shot.
Needless to say she was really upset at me and didn’t respond to any of my apologies and taking accountability for how I acted. Telling her what she means to me and that was way out of line. That it isn’t how I feel about us, that she didn’t deserve that whatsoever. Also that I have no recollection of any of it at all. She left my messages on read all weekend. Finally, on the following Monday, she blocked me.
I’ve since seen her last Friday up there, where I cautiously approached her (we were with mutual friends up there) when the time seemed okay, and apologized to which she said knew I was sorry. She said she just needed time. Yesterday, Monday, she was by the entry to the kitchen when I walked in. I didn’t expect her to be working so I felt bad and didn’t want to force any conversation since she had said she needed time just a week and change before that. So I tried to walk through the people by her and pretended to not notice she was there. She hit me on the side to get my attention and we both said hi and she reached out for a half one armed hug. I asked her how work was and she said she was tired. That was pretty much it. Later in the night as I was leaving we had a little hug and I wished her a good shift and she thanked me and told me to drive safe. She could’ve just let me walk by, but she didn’t.
I simply don’t know how to proceed, she still hasn’t unblocked me or reached out. I’m sure I’ll see her on Friday night. I don’t know I should feel it out and ask if we could talk, or just let it be and leave the ball in her court? Have no idea what to make of anything right now. I’ve felt awful for messing things up, albeit having no memory of what happened. Part of me really hopes, after four months of being pretty close, she’d see how out of character that was for me and give us another chance. Any advice would be appreciated.

I currently have a student research internship working the mechanical department, I have a job offer for autocad drafting, and I have a family friend offering an internship working to build electromagnetic fields. I know experience is probably my greatest ally but I was wondering what certifications I could start to get even now, to make my resume stand out that much more when I graduate? I’m new here and it’s my first time posting. I’ve been with my partner for a while now, and he’s got two beautiful kids I absolutely adore 8M and 6F. The kids BM seems like she has no interest in meeting me/getting to know me (which is fine, I don’t mind honestly) but she seem like a nice person :)
There is just this one small thing she does which is confusing/kind of irritating that I don’t quite understand. We have the kids 50/50. Week on, week off type thing. It’s been a thing ever since my partner and I got together. She’s constantly asking him to take the kids when it’s her time to have them or shes constantly asking us to change the schedule. Now don’t get me wrong I love having the kids here with us (mostly haha) but it actually started impacting myself and also our time together. Between myself working a highly physical job 5 days a week starting at 3.30am and his study and working, we only get 2/3 hours a day to see each other (we live together). It started affecting date nights (as she’d ask for weekends) and I got a little annoyed so I asked him to stop doing her favours and start saying no. He immediately stopped taking them in our time which I really appreciated.
I honestly felt like, it’s part of being a single mum. Sometimes we have to miss out on things because of kids, and we can’t expect people to just drop everything for us and babysit. But it’s been months and months and she’s still bugging him to change schedules or take the kids cause “she has something on”. A few weeks ago she texted him at 4pm and said she was stuck at a location and couldn’t get the kids from school and if we could take them. Didn’t give an explanation as to why she was stuck or what happened. Just, can you get the kids. He said no, ask your parents or brother, I’m out at the moment. No reply. 6pm rolls around and he’s home with me and she txts again. Can you please go and pick the kids up from my parents, they don’t want to babysit for the night and I’m still stuck where I am.
I just don’t understand this kind of thinking. She has a huge support network yet still asks and asks us to have the kids. Frankly it’s getting kind of annoying and I don’t know what to do. My partner has been so strong and he’s told her no time and time again. I am so thankful for that. Why would a mum do this? I understand emergencies happen but this is happening without fail every week!

So 21, yippie! I'm a nervous idiot and have no idea what I'm doing. I want to go to a gay bar for the experience and just to see other gay men. (I live in a rural area, there ain't many of us here). The closest gay bars are up north in Washington D.C; about an hour forty away. I'm not sure what to do when I get there. I don't drink and I don't plan to. So what do I do, like literally. My first day of University is tomorrow at Grant MacEwan. I went to pick up my books today. Upon leaving the school, first I saw two people in broad daylight in the bus stop in front of the school smoking meth freely. Then, I was followed by a man all the way to the parking lot where my car was. I noticed him first going back and forth in two different directions seemingly deciding where to walk, then I got the instinct he was following me. I started weaving onto different parts of the sidewalk, he followed my every move, and seemed to be picking up, pace as time went on. When I had to stop at a crosswalk he got extremely close and his hands were in his pockets the whole time like he was digging for something. I had the feeling like he might whack me with something on the back of my head so I tried to keep aware behind me. Finally I go to the parking lot behind Allard Hall where I was parked and I knew I was in trouble because he was following less than 1 meter behind me and almost speed walking when he was not going this way at all before. I turned around and told him you need to stop following me. He got mad and said I can walk wherever I want and continued to mutter things. He moved away a bit. I was on edge, I kept looking at him because he seemed to be just hovering around me. He comes close. I am trying to keep distance between us. He says I'm robbing you, this is what's happening now. He said give me your money. I'm going to rob you like they do me. I went into angry defensive mode and started aggressively yelling you need to back the fuck up. He was still searching for something in his pockets it seemed or ready to grab something. By some miracle a school bus showed up right there in the parking lot. I waved at the driver and he could clearly tell this guy was trying to attack me. He stopped the bus and opened the doors, and this guy starts to walk away. I yelled you fucking shithead and got on the bus. The driver told me I will wait with you until he's gone and then you can get in your car. He told me "sometimes God puts these things in your path to make you aware and bring out the Goliath in you". Its my first day tomorrow and this was my experience. I will definitely never walk in front of the school again.

I'm currently 19 years old. I've wanted to join the military for a few years now and originally I tried the army national guard my junior year of high-school. I was denied at MEPS due to Self Harm Scars on my forearm from when I was around 13-14 years old. I've since moved on to the Marine Corps and submitted for a waiver but was completely denied in 2022. I've haven't seen a therapist or taken medication for about 4 years now and I just spoke to a captain in the marine corps who said there's nothing I can currently do until I wait for the leadership at BUMED to change which would take years. Do any of you guys know of any tips or advice to possibly still help me achieve this goal of joining the marines?

This is a minor villain in my story
He is very paranoid and egotistical and constantly thinks others are trying to control him or hold him back in some way. He even outright says once that his idea of a 'perfect world' is 'one where i could do whatever i want and NO ONE else could do ANYTHING about it',he believes that in the most literal sense,i.e. that he should have unlimited personal freedom to do whatever he wants regardless of what exactly it is and he wants everyone else to be completely powerless and incapable of stopping or controlling him. His main personality trait is the fact he sees all interactions with other characters as a power struggle and feels the need to find ways to overpower and try to dominate the interaction because he thinks otherwise he'll end up being the one getting controlled/dominated,and he constantly goes out of his way to use any means necessary to eliminate anyone and anything he deems a threat to that vague goal of 'doing whatever he wants and making everyone else unable to do anything about it'.
Keep in mind this guy isnt an anarchist:he doesnt want to completely eliminate rules or authority,quite the contrary,he wants to be the one making all the rules and controlling everyone so he could prevent them from being threats to him. He does like rules,but only when following them suits his own goals. If reporting criminals to cops will benefit him,he'll do it. If helping criminals escape does so,he'll do it:he is willing to help and harm anyone and everyone,so long as that helping or harming also entails some kind of personal use.
So does 'tldr:giving themselves unlimited personal freedom by harming anyone who they see as trying to take it away or restrict it' sound like a dumb or boring motivation for an antagonist,or do you think making a character like this interesting or enjoyable for a reader is possible?
