Hey everyone I have been selling on Etsy since 2022 but it was low effort digital downloads and made about 30 sales from that, just some context so it doesn’t look like I have more sales than I actually do 😆

I am a graphic design student at university and in my free time I love to make posters and have been uploading them to Etsy, I have my own printer and create, produce and distribute all the designs independently!
I have really been trying hard with it all since late February and I’m very happy with the results so far I have made 20 sales and £165 with a 1.8% conversion rate. These are all things I want to try really hard to improve on, this has been one of the most enjoyable hobbies for me and I love the feeling of people wanting to pay and hang up art that I have created!
I have done lots of experiment with different forms of advertising and ultimately been breaking even, which for now is something I am totally okay with as it’s not losing money and giving me valuable information.
Things I need help with -
• my seo, I am doing the best that I can but it’s something I am really struggling with, I feel like there are only so many different tags and keywords I can use for posters. My silly goose poster is by far my best seller
• I believe that I stand out from my competition as I am offering physical products that I have printed myself as opposed to purely digital stores

Maybe it isn’t all managers, but from my own anecdotal experience; vast majority.
My last job as a cashier, we had major issues. The team was hyper demoralized, so we’d constantly get scheduled 3 people which is already cutting it, and almost every day without exception at least 1 if not 2 would call in sick.
We would end up every day rushed and overworked to death. I’d be scanning maybe 4x the “minimum requirement”, yet still always had a line-up of 4+ angry customers.
Yet any moment we had to finally catch our breath, we’d be reprimanded for not helping out the shelf-clerks with tidying up the shelves. EVEN if the shelves already looked great, we had to “pretend” because it could always look better.
It got so bad so many people quit, we ended up hiring people and throwing them into the waters alone with no training. This new kid had a line-up of 5 people and he was looking for codes one by one for each item, it was taking him FOREVER. When something like a coupon came, he’d be like a deer in the headlights not knowing how to apply it. But no one could save him because the other one or two cashiers were racing with their own customers.
Why don’t managers see the value in treating their employees well and not overworking them to death. Why not a thank you for picking up the constant slack when people call in sick. Why not allow a breath after the constant nightmare finally ends so people don’t go home and have to crash to death.
It seems to me like managers don’t care about retaining any staff, or keeping them not overworked to death. It is like they don’t see the value in using their employees energy wisely, and letting them save some energy when there is a possibility to better apply later.

I'm learning java using netbeans and for the first about 3 months it works alright but then this problem start to happen, like the picture above my only code is only for printing hello world but I don't know what that red line error means, i tried asking several people and some try to fix it but well we all students and we don't find solution,i tried asking some lecturers too but its no help, its been like this for almost 1 semester and I'm in the middle of my second semester, normally i just use my lab pc but since my lecturer give an assignment to connect with database I can't use my lab pc , pls can anyone help?

So I just took my pc to a shop to get its motherboard replaced and its case replaced. It all worked fine, I launched RDR2 and played a little bit of that. However, when I went to change an in-game setting that would affect VRAM usage, a fan in my pc started making this awful grinding noise.
It scared me, so I turned the pc off. I kind of brushed it off as one of those pc things that pcs do just to frighten you.
So I played some GTA, and something exploded in the game, and all of a sudden my pc started making that loud grinding noise. I tried to pinpoint what component it could be, but I couldn’t.
What could it be? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks. If it’s of any help, I’ve got an rx 6600 (8GB vram), 32gb ram, i7 9700K and a 600w psu. It was working fine before my new motherboard and my new case.

Hey everyone, I read this sub a ton and learn so much from you all, so I wanted to share my recent journey for anyone who is also going through a layoff or looking for a new role. I was laid off in March with zero notice and previous messaging that all is well internally blah blah, Unicorn cybersecurity startup. Had a layoff less than a year before this one.
Background Job History: 3 Years, Helpdesk/Jr. sysadmin > 1.6 years Sysadmin / Systems Engineer (Managed small company IT infra (Linux, windows servers, internal application), worked with Devs to introduce code repos, CI/CD pipeline etc.) > 3 Years Solution Architect at Cybersec company
Education / Certs: Associates if that even matters, no certs at all (working to change that this year)
Being on this sub and others on reddit I was absolutely terrified, and I had 2 months of severance so I just hit the ground running and hit up everyone I knew personally and on Linkedin. Message everyone you fucking know even if you've spoken to them once, I've found almost everyone extremely friendly and willing to help, especially if I'd worked with them previously. Primarily used Linkedin for job posts and it seemed like there was a steady influx but once you go through all of them in a few days you start to see the same stuff. This may be obvious but UPDATE AND OPTIMIZE YOUR RESUME. Thought I had a good one, sent it out to 3 places and got auto rejected, then my previous manager spent some time with me to optimize it and never got another auto rejection going forward.
Stats wise, it looks like I applied to 110 places since March (add 20-30 to this), I see 47 emails in my "rejected / rekt" folder so over half passed on me and the other 40% are no replies. From my connections I managed to land a couple of intro calls, and I surprisingly had a few internal recruiters hit me up from my cold applications. Roughly 10 intro calls with different companies, 7 of them made it to a second call with hiring manager. 4 of those passed on me, and YOU ARE GETTING NO FEEDBACK from these fucking recruiters. Once they hear the word, they are a ghost and you no longer exist. One thing I've learned at the moment is recruiters are by far the most unprofessional people I've ever had to work with, wouldn't last a day as an SE/SA lol. I've also had recruiters reach out TO ME for a position, schedule a call and then ghost, and then reappearing a MONTH later to schedule a call as if nothing happened. Now that I took an offer, multiple recruiters from previous applications are reaching out for intro calls, ranging from 2-6 weeks after I've applied.
I was far along with a sort of no name company that I was going to begrudgingly take just to have an income and go from there, and a very very good company who I ended up taking an offer with. The interview process with very good company was difficult. Recruiter, Hiring manager 1hr, technical discussion (1hr, lots of cloud questions and troubleshooting type discussion to see thought process), ~1.5hr panel with 4 people on 2 part take home assignment, 1 technical section which was straight forward, and a daunting role play presentation on a system architecture shift. Got an offer 3 hours later, was very proud of myself on the presentation as it was a bitch and I crushed it.
Caveat to all of this is that the role is straying a bit from traditional SE/SA work and is more dealing with current customers and if they are using the product properly and there is potential for new feature use, expansion, etc. New team so haven't figured it out exactly, but the company is phenomenal, and I got a slight base bump and significant OTE bump (70/30 now vs 80/20 before) + RSU's and other nice perks. We'll see if I like the work, but it seems to be a really good team with a lot of members who are coming from SE/SA world as well.
Anyways sorry, that was my morning caffeine rant but figured it could be a useful reference point for someone, cheers.

Education / Certs: Associates if that even matters, no certs at all (working to change that this year)
Being on this sub and others on reddit I was absolutely terrified, and I had 2 months of severance so I just hit the ground running and hit up everyone I knew personally and on Linkedin. Message everyone you fucking know even if you've spoken to them once, I've found almost everyone extremely friendly and willing to help, especially if I'd worked with them previously. Primarily used Linkedin for job posts and it seemed like there was a steady influx but once you go through all of them in a few days you start to see the same stuff. This may be obvious but UPDATE AND OPTIMIZE YOUR RESUME. Thought I had a good one, sent it out to 3 places and got auto rejected, then my previous manager spent some time with me to optimize it and never got another auto rejection going forward.
Stats wise, it looks like I applied to 110 places since March (add 20-30 to this), I see 47 emails in my "rejected / rekt" folder so over half passed on me and the other 40% are no replies. From my connections I managed to land a couple of intro calls, and I surprisingly had a few internal recruiters hit me up from my cold applications. Roughly 10 intro calls with different companies, 7 of them made it to a second call with hiring manager. 4 of those passed on me, and YOU ARE GETTING NO FEEDBACK from these fucking recruiters. Once they hear the word, they are a ghost and you no longer exist. One thing I've learned at the moment is recruiters are by far the most unprofessional people I've ever had to work with, wouldn't last a day as an SE/SA lol. I've also had recruiters reach out TO ME for a position, schedule a call and then ghost, and then reappearing a MONTH later to schedule a call as if nothing happened. Now that I took an offer, multiple recruiters from previous applications are reaching out for intro calls, ranging from 2-6 weeks after I've applied.
I was far along with a sort of no name company that I was going to begrudgingly take just to have an income and go from there, and a very very good company who I ended up taking an offer with. The interview process with very good company was difficult. Recruiter, Hiring manager 1hr, technical discussion (1hr, lots of cloud questions and troubleshooting type discussion to see thought process), ~1.5hr panel with 4 people on 2 part take home assignment, 1 technical section which was straight forward, and a daunting role play presentation on a system architecture shift. Got an offer 3 hours later, was very proud of myself on the presentation as it was a bitch and I crushed it.
Caveat to all of this is that the role is straying a bit from traditional SE/SA work and is more dealing with current customers and if they are using the product properly and there is potential for new feature use, expansion, etc. New team so haven't figured it out exactly, but the company is phenomenal, and I got a slight base bump and significant OTE bump (70/30 now vs 80/20 before) + RSU's and other nice perks. We'll see if I like the work, but it seems to be a really good team with a lot of members who are coming from SE/SA world as well.
Anyways sorry, that was my morning caffeine rant but figured it could be a useful reference point for someone, cheers.

We reconnected just before my 22nd birthday, which is around the time I met my husband. She had also JUST started dating her now fiance. We are two of five in a group of girls all from the same middle school and reconnected at the same time our partners into the mix. Honestly, before I got engaged there's not much of a story. I found it odd that she got a very similar dog to mine and named it something similar, almost a year to the day that I got mine, but that's like, whatever. Anyway, my man and I get engaged and essentially, same day, choose our wedding date which was 9 weeks later (it was a significant date). Moments after getting engaged, I call the group and share the news, telling them we will most likely be getting married x day. Now, I understand it's short notice, but they're my lifelong friends and I knew, they knew they'd be bridesmaids.

I am in the 40% tax bracket and just looking to tell them money I made from freelance outside my normal job and that I put all the money into a sipp. I’m confused or generally looking for guidance on two parts atm
Do I say yes or no to this?
Last year as I said I used an accountant and due to me making money freelance and putting it all into a sipp. I got 20% relief from my sipp and got the rest back from hmrc with a tax code change.
Hopefully someone can help! I think if I get it right this year. I will be fine for the next years!

- I have ctg just under 6k last year, same with dividends just under 1k and savings interest under £500. Do I need to declare this on my tax return or it doesn’t matter, they arnt interested as I owe no tax on any of it anyway?

So I got a special edition player strat last year from Guitar Center and the serial number wasn’t in the online database so I emailed Fender to inquire about it. They sent me the specs and it says it has fat 50s pickups. The thing is, I thought fat 50s were beveled and mine are not beveled at all. They definitely have edges. Is it possible the guitar shop changed them out and put alnicos in it or something? Or are some just not beveled? I think the guitar sounds amazing but It’s the only strat I’ve ever played.

We live about 45 minutes apart and have very busy lifestyles so I haven't seen her much since. I've been distant I. It's been 6 months since my wedding & her engagement and her engagement party is coming up (My cousin asked me to plan her birthday party, which falls on the same day as her engagement party, so honestly I'm not pressed about going at all)
I still feel icky about everything and honestly am not sure if I care to work it out. On the most important day of my life (imo), she showed how much she cared to make me feel loved. I haven't done anything bridal for her beyond the scrunchie.

O tells me she will not be able to make the wedding because she has a trip planned (is this wrong of her, because I totally understood). I make it official at my engagement party 4 weeks later and ask them to be bridesmaids, knowing O won't be present. I ask them for NOTHING. Note: they did not throw me a brunch or lunch or help with anything, nor did I expect it because it was all so quick. I told them they could wear what they want, no gifts, just be present x day, place and time. Shortly after my engagement party (wedding 4.5 weeks away) that O tells us her boyfriend has gone ring shopping. I am happy for her thinking she'll be engaged soon or SOONEST the end of her trip.
My wedding morning arrives, she sends me a congratulatory text from the airport departure lounge. My wedding day goes by. The day after my wedding goes by. I've been married now 48 hours and.. O drops "we're engaged" in the group chat. So what do I do? I call!! Of course! Because that's the least you can do when one of your closest 5 friends has a big life event. The facetime call was awkward at best, she never acknowledged my wedding even though I was still in my all white sweatsuit. She didn't seem to care that I called and her fiance couldn't be bothered, but I could have been interrupting I guess. (Note: she had the ability to call me and join the girls from wherever she was, but chose not to)
They return for their trip and I begin planning to host one of the other 5 girls' birthday party. She, of course, comes to my house for the party. This is the first time we see eachother since I'm a wife and she, a fiancée. At the time, I lived in a high rise building so I had to go down to get her. First words to her "congratulations!!!" It was not returned. Not to me or my husband all. Night. She talked about her wedding ideas and plans with my husband for no less than 30 minutes while the rest of the girls got ready. The other ladies noticed but she just didn't seem to read the room at all. I even tried by giving her a white scrunchie I got during wedding planning as a little pass along, bridal thing... In an effort to initiate some kind of conversation.
After that night, I really realize that this may have been intentional. I mean of course I thought it, but now I was really skeptical. I asked another girl in the group and according to O, her fiance only purchased the ring 3 weeks before their trip. Which means he knew he was going to do it. Basically, I got scammed buying a 2005 volvo v50 T5 AWD (with 109k) from the dealership. Car ran great on the test drive, everything seemed fine, car was overall in bad shape cosmetically but it is what it is, you know? We got a discount because of the cosmetic damage (like the sunroof being completely caulked off) and bought the car, thinking that it was perfectly fine.
A SINGLE DAY later, something is going south, the engine runs rough on idle for the cold start. Don't know why, this is literally the first time the engine is cold started after we bought it. Something isn't right, but I'm able to drive to work without any lights popping up on the dash. However, after work I had some time to show the car to a co-worker and we went for a drive around the lot, during which the check engine light popped on and started flashing yellow. There was some extremely choppy acceleration and just general shaking on idle. I put the car back in the nearest spot in the lot, and after work me and my co-worker go buy a code reader from O'riellys. Read the code, it states P0305 (misfire on cylinder 5)
So, I go call O'riellys to see if they have what I need, and drive over there again. after a second trip for a toolkit and 5 new spark-plugs, we're replacing all 5. The condition of all the old spark plugs was ok, they all looked old and crusty and all had some black on the tips but I'm not sure that anything was out of the ordinary (no white on each spark plug and overall the sparky bits look the right distance). I don't have pictures of them (posting this at home) but if needed I can go and grab photos of each one, just comment. The REALLY SCARY part for me was that one of the spark plugs had oil on the white ceramic part (not the actual sparky bit), and oil was also in the ignition coil (a pretty small amount on both). I didn't know what this meant but it wasn't related to cylinder 5 at all, it was actually cylinder 1, right next to the oil cap. Don't know if this means anything because it could just be someone spilling oil when putting new oil in, but I'm just letting everyone know.
At this point we replaced all the spark plugs and put everything back together, but the engine is STILL misfiring, but this time with the code P0300, so I decided it would most likely be the ignition coils. I haven't replaced those yet but they are on order and hopefully will get installed soon. I really hope this will fix the problem, but I'd like to hear feedback from a few people because I'm not great with engines and this is currently my first car :( and I heard amazing things about Volvos, especially the T5, so I wasn't expecting to have problems like this right off the bat.
My prediction, which I might be completely wrong on, is that the cam/valve cover gasket is leaking into the 1st cylinder hole which broke something. I haven't tested the fuel injectors but I want to, because the ignition coils look relatively new and don't seem like they would break. My friend told me to start off doing a compression test (which I'm scared of doing), is this a good idea?
For those who will ask if the dealer offered to help with anything seeing as the car lasted 1 day, they flat out refused by saying "we sold the car as-is" so I just told them to go f*ck themselves (not proud of that, but I did call them right after getting the P0300 code in the baking sun so it was just a bad decision overall. I'll call them back and apologize someday). BTW, I just got a cheap ass code reader so I don't know if the car has multiple codes, I only see one on the screen. There are 2 buttons, one that is red and erases the code, and the other button is still a mystery. Please send questions about stuff if you need to know, I have the carfax from the dealership so I could check when all the stuff has been replaced.
