2021-2022 NHL Playoff Pool

2022.05.01 00:52 slyque 2021-2022 NHL Playoff Pool

Hosting my 3rd annual "last minute" NHL Playoff Pool, and decided to post to Reddit for the first time as we look to expand beyond 30+ entries.
Buy-in: $20 USD or $25 CAD (max 2 entries per person).
Payment required at the time of submission (PayPal or, if in Canada, e-transfer is also accepted).
Prize structure: Based on the final number of entries (Will be a #1, #2 and #3 55/30/15 percentage split).
Format: Pick any 15 forwards, any 10 defensemen and any 2 goalies (27 players total) -- I will vet the positions to ensure that everyone has a "legal" team, however I will not vet player injury status and/or playoff eligibility.
Deadline for player picks/submission is Wednesday, May 4th at 7 PM EST, aka prior to puck drop for Game 2 of the BOS/CAR series, (giving 2 extra days for submissions, points prior to this game STILL count and entries can be edited by messaging me changes if you've submitted already); please use and complete the attached spreadsheet for each entry (for Reddit connections, .xlsx file will be provided via email after chat).
Once all entries have been received, they will be inputted to a stats tracking website (www.pickuphockey.com), where you will be able to access team/entry rankings, player stats, etc.; payout totals will be also released at this time.
Friends and family are welcomed; PM me!

2020.07.27 13:14 robotco cannot connect to one particular website but everyone else can

got a weird one here: recently, a fantasy hockey pool website i use went down to update some stuff in advance of the NHL restart.
to this day, i have not been able to reconnect to this website, even though everyone else in my pool can.
i don't believe the problem is on my end though, because no computer i use can actually connect. the only difference between me and my friends is that i am the only one who lives in Korea. i've tried several different computers on several different networks here in Korea and none of them connect. i am able to connect if i use a VPN. the admin of the website says everything is cool on his end and insists the problem is on my end. i really don't think so, unless i've started emitting some weird magnetic field that disrupts this site in particular.
the site in question is www.pickuphockey.com
what can i do to get this to connect for me again?

2019.04.13 22:00 BlenzTsstTsst1 Online Box Pools where entries can pick their teams

Hey guys. I had a really brief thought and I hope some folks here can help. I've been running some hockey pools over the last few years through pickuphockey.com and it has served it's purpose every single time.

My pool is getting bigger and bigger each year and I'm having a hard time keeping up. Started with 18ish but now we're over 180 last year. Not bad at all haha. LOTS of typing, especially when it's busy for work and life too. Heck, I'm still in the middle of keying in all the 100-ish for the playoffs. I'm so behind :-/

Are there good, -free-, suggestions where people who want to save me a ton of effort can enter their team online if I've already predetermined the boxes & scoring? No drafts, no trades. Set it & forget it. And still allows me to manually enter teams for people who still prefer to do a paper & pen entry? A really REALLY quick Google suggested officepools.com ... Unsurprisingly I've heard of them but never actually used it. Can anyone confirm from experience?

Really hoping to have a much more efficient system for next season and beyond.
Thanks in advance!!

2017.09.20 15:37 LeWoodpecker Need help on keeping rosters up-to-date in a keepers league.

Hi everyone,
My friends and I are going to begin our fourth year of a keeper league. We have a main pool that last all season long and every month has a sub-pool with different rules that modify who can be dressed or not (salary cap, hit/blocked shots, nationality, etc.)
We use pickuphockey.com to manage each of the pools, we are alright during the hockey season.
Our problem lies in the management of the other teams roster. We cant find a league manager that keeps everything up-to-date and allows us to put these rosters on Excel sheets. We all have to keep every others rosters up-to-date and its a draining process since we all have kids. I feel it might begin to turn people away from the pool because of our lack of managing tools.
Do you guys know a (free if possible) tool that would allow us to import our pools to work in excel while keeping track of all our modification?
Thank you very much! Sorry for any english errors, not a native speaker.

2017.03.23 05:42 hairycookies Playoff Pools

Team,
What are your favorite sites for doing a playoff pool. I am going to fire one up for my friends and have used pickuphockey.com mainly in the past and would like to try something different. I am willing to use sites with a fee for a pool if it is quality.

2014.04.15 15:50 ToddGAKKKK Any free playoff pool sites out there with live scoring?

We usually use pickuphockey.com but I'd like to find a free site that also does live scoring. I know officepools.com does it but for $20. Seems pretty ridiculous that Yahoo doesn't do playoff pools. We use them for regular season and it's way better than pickuphockey.com
Thanks!

2011.09.01 02:55 GateWayHug Who would be interested in a r/sanjosesharks fantasy pool?

I would be more than happy to set one up if their was sufficient interest in our community. Let me know. I have been fairly happy with the yahoo fantasy hockey, but if others have a suggestion let me know.
EDIT: A Yahoo Fantasy Hockey Pool has been Started. Unfortunately for the time being this pool can only accomadate the first twenty players. This league is pretty fun and can be found here: http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/16626 . The league name is "redditsansjoesharks and the password is: jumbojoe
I have also started a pool that can accommodate up to 1000 teams at pickuphockey.com, however the draft season does not start until September 26th, so we will have to wait for this one, however it will be a better choice for getting all of our community involved.
Good luck to everyone, and I will supply more details as the time gets closer.
