Hello! Welcome to Radiant UHC! This is a recorded round based around Valorant in which every season all players get unique abilities based around the agent they are playing! Particularly, Virtue, Uuno, Lagonis, and Canadian.
I mainly wanted to talk about Uuno and Virtue hate I’ve been seeing, as they keep blaming them for G2s loss, which I think is BS. They are arguably the two most consistent in layers on the team. They also make a great duo and we’re pulling 2v4s/2v3s left and right at SI. Of the rumors about him being removed are true, I only hope uuno leaves with him.
Canadian and Lagonis are kind of similar. Lagonis is a good player, he’s just very passive and seemingly avoid gunfights a lot. Canadian haters are consistently on his ass. Tracking his KD and spamming it in chat every round no matter how good or bad he is doing. I saw messages all the time “he’s got twice as many kills as last game” when he drops a 2k one round today, yet, he went positive yesterday, His haters are so bent out of shape they lose track of time and forget he played a whole match and went positive yesterday. When Canadian does bad, he usually makes up for it later.

We are a small clan, ~50 members, that is looking to rebuild going into The Final Shape. Like the name implies our main focus of the clan is clearing raids, they do tend to get a bit scuffed but we get them done. Being that we are a small clan planning events is how we get things done. If you want a clan you can ask any time day or night and get a raid done, we are not it. It might take a day or two, but we will get it done. We use Discord to schedule events and to communicate during the raids, so for that reason discord is a must. No experience is ever required to sign up for any event, we have some experienced sherpas willing to help you learn how to raid. We do enjoy other game modes such as, dungeons, exotic missions, nfs, and onslaught, we definitely lean into the PVE side of the game but will stack up in IB or the odd PvP game once and a while. Project Stargate: Nuclear fusion to power the $100 billion data center to be released in 2028. This is likely for scaling for smarter models, make AI faster, cheaper, or getting it to as many hands as possible.
Many leaders in AI give AGI release dates between 2025-2030. Most people that think AI won't take jobs are thinking of todays tech for the future. They don't consider how AGI would be like for AI to take jobs. Like the required technology and how those innovations could be achieved. People don't consider how embodied humanoid robots with AGI could also eliminate many jobs. People think trade jobs are safe. NVIDIA's project groot is training robots in simulation. Who's to say that the robots can't learn to do all tasks. Maybe not in a year, but five years is a lot of progress with the rate AI is advancing. Even if we don't have AGI now, AI will be replacing jobs. If one person can use AI to do the work of one team, then those people who would have been on a team would be laid off. Especially when Agents roll around in 1-2 years.
Sometimes it really worries me about the people who go to college to get a high paying jobs, especially first gen college students from immigrant families. Imagine working hard for the dream of getting a high paying job only to be automated in six years. What happens to their drive? All their hard work for what? Sold a long gone dream and had the carpet pulled under them. In my opinion, even jobs like doctors could be automated if humanoid robots had embodied AGI. Sure it might not be wanted at first, but it has the potential too.
My Thoughts on AGI
AGI would just be the accumulation of all the different innovations needed to reach the requirements needed to meet the definition of what AGI is. Realistically, engineers could do this within six years. So even though I have a general idea of how AGI could be achieved by the end of the decade, I would just have to wait and see when these innovations are created.
Post Labor Info
Most people work to gain money because money is needed to survive and buy things that you want. The purpose of school is to provide people with a pathway to secure a high-paying job. When students say they work hard in school to be successful, it often means they want to get a high-paying career.
But if AI were to start taking over jobs, then our relationship with work would change. There would be mass unemployment, leading people to receive UBI. The government would be forced to give UBI unless they want societal collapse. No one would need to work to have money for survival and buying the things they want.
If everyone had free money, people would use the extra time on bettering their personal lives. They can spend more time with loved ones and do the things they want to do. There would be a paradigm shift in how society is set up. People wouldn’t have to work so hard at school or a job in the pursuit of money. A lot of people don’t like working anyway, especially since the cost of living is causing them to work harder and subsequently deal with mental health issues. Look at Gen Z doesn't want to work, antiwork, wage slavery, 9-5 rat race. Cost of living being unaffordable. People work so hard but can not get by. Hard work is not properly financially compensated and college grads can't find jobs. Meaning from work could be derived from work you want to do not work you do for a paycheck. It would be better for the next generation of people born in this post-labor world. Nasa researchers found that 98% of 5-year-old children fell into the “genius category of imagination.” This number dropped to 12% for 15-year-olds and to 2% for adults. The reason for this drop is the education system killing creativity. But with the traditional education system gone, that generation is likely to remain geniuses.

Today we opened pre-market hours with a price point of 1.63/share. From then on until 10:30, we saw a steady price dip, bringing us to a low of 1.29/share. Because of how steady it was declining, this can tell us one thing. The big investors were dumping shares on us (mentioned again later) and we were just eating them right back up. They eventually eased up and we saw a NICE climb to 1.62/share at 11:45AM, to which we then began steadily declining again, bringing us to a daily low of 1.25/share. We closed the market day at 1.39/share, which is still GREAT. Please remember late market declines are normal, and alone they can’t determine our current state. Evaluations need to be done at a whole.
That being said, you guys can all give yourselves a huge pat on the back 👏🏼 “But Big Ape, we’re down from yesterday! You lie!” Hold on little ape, remember we talked about volume? No? You should! Remember, “Today’s Volume is the total of buys & sells of a stock in a certain time period. For a stock like FFIE, 677.89M is a BIG number.” Now that number provided is actually from YESTERDAY. So what was today’s number? A SHOCKING 220.14M 😱 What does that mean?
It means you crazy apes held your promises. It means you held your shares like your lives depended on it, and when the dips came, you ate them right up! Because the selling was mostly one sided, and so was the buying, with almost ALL OF US holding (👏🏼👏🏼) , all these contributed to us cutting the volume by 1/3!!!
But if we all held, then why were we -22.78% when the market closed??? Well, i’ll be completely transparent with you - I’m still figuring out all the details about this BUT, here’s what we do know - Today’s low volume means there wasn’t as much fighting going on within the stock market. It was a smooth game of hedge’s selling, and us holding for the dip, and buying more. Not a lot of trading going on compared to yesterdays volume of nearly 700M (Look at how volatile yesterday was!)
You all trusted one another to hold, while simultaneously keeping your end of the promise. Talk about a team bonding exercise.. very well done!! 🦍🖤
“But Big Ape! I goofed up and bought when the share price was higher! I’m not seeing any gains!” Well, it’s still a fight and we won’t see gains for a few more market days. But I understand little ape. You need reassurance. Well luckily for you Hope is my middle name. (It’s not.)

As of the last update, FFIE has 42.41M shares outstanding. What does this mean? Let me put it like this. FFIE is a pie (company). Of that Pie there are 42.41 million pieces (shares). All of those shares aren’t available for everyone to buy and sell though. This is where the float comes into play.
As of the last update FFIE has a float of 17.09M shares. Those are pieces of the pie available for everyone in the stock market to play with.
The short % of this float is at 85.71%. What does this mean? It means the big boys have shorted 85.71%. “I still dont get it!” Okay, let me try it again.
When investors borrow shares, they do it in hopes that the price of those shares will fall. If that were to happen, they’d sell those same shares at a profit. This is what they’re trying to do to us.
You might be hearing a lot of numbers being thrown around, 60%, 90%, 80%. Places like Ortex are wrong because they’re only accounting for some of the shorts not all. Shorts positions aren’t released until every 2 weeks. The number provided is the number of ALL shares.
So, 85%, is that a good thing? Well you might be hearing that we were at 95%, or 97%. I’m not sure exactly how credible that is, but let’s focus on what we have. 85% is a GREAT number, the Hedge’s dumped 250k shares on us today causing the big first dip we saw and we ate that shit right up.
Today was a perfect representation of how we can maintain our position if we collectively move as a unit. I’m working on a Q&A post so if you have any questions regarding FFIE, or how stocks work feel free to comment, but first! 2024.05.22 01:20 Sergioshi Afk xp saved me (and how to maximize it from my pov)

Telling my experience for those that may be new (or doubtful) to the ways of xp maps and non BR modes, as it also includes a tip I discovered for Jam Stage. I’m gonna be able to reach level 200 with less than 2 weeks playtime, after I learned about optimal afk xp income some days ago when I found this subreddit.
I was a non believer at first, I didn’t expect I would make it even to level 100 with what I read here. I thought the xp would stop coming by, and the videos here seem suspicious because I haven’t really seen such crazy xp per second after all. It takes longer to get to the daily max xp, but at least these famous xp maps do the work.
Maximizing my xp gains by trying and learning new tactics, I’ve been able to earn 12 daily levels WITHOUT lego, just by sucking dry both creative and Festival, mainly Jam Stage. The XP granting is really inconsistent in the latter though, I get amounts between 10k and 30k in varied time frames, and sometimes it gets stuck for a while then it gives me half a level all of a sudden, when you believe you’d have reached the max daily xp.
My daily routine is as follows: I use the inflate bull map for creative xp, some days it capped at nearly 300k and others at 400k. As for festival, namely Jam Stage, using the slowest traversal emotes (Sing along and Clean sweep) on auto walk became my strat, so that the game detects that you are moving (?) I started doing that from side to side of the farthest area, but yesterday I discovered an out of bounds access to the main stage area. That way you don’t need to change the direction of the camera once you reach the invisible wall and you can walk (or swim) infinitely. After I don’t seem to get any more xp from Jam Stage, I still get some 2 levels while playing songs on main stage. Finally, I complete the BR daily missions, as I don’t currently plan on playing lego even if I miss out on some daily levels.
Wish I had known about the concept of afk creative maps before, I don’t feel like playing the game anymore and I missed out on some great stuff by barely scratching level 50 these past seasons.

Paramount's "lack of scale" is not the reason for its underperformance as it spends about as much on content as industry leader Netflix.
Paramount's loss last year was largely the result of one-off writedowns, both domestically and internationally. These losses will not repeat going forward.
Paramount's streaming operation suffers not from lack of scale, but an abundance of overload waste, which may be alleviated under new management.

Paramount Global (NASDAQ:PARA) (NASDAQ:PARAA) remains my worst investment. Let's just get that clear from the start. I said two years ago it was madness not to buy Paramount. That was wrong, wrong, wrong. The fact that I recommended against buying the new Warner Discovery at the same time, and heeding that warning saved a lot of money, makes me feel a little better, but not much.
And no, the fact that Warren Buffett made the exact same mistake as me doesn't help much, either. Mr. Buffett and I are about to part ways, anyway. He is now completely sold out of Paramount, while I am hanging in. Yes, I am still buying. Get all the ribbing out of your systems, and then read on.
Although a few rounds remain to be played in the game, it is no longer inconceivable that none of the various deal permutations that have been put forward for Paramount will pan out, and that it will continue as an independent company. Essentially, Redstone will block a deal with Apollo Global Management, Inc. (APO) and Sony Group Corporation (SONY) and the 'B' shareholders will litigate a Skydance deal to death.
Because so many Seeking Alpha articles are already offering a blow-by-blow analysis of the deal talks - and I absolutely encourage you to read them - I wanted to turn back for just a minute to a more in-depth look at Paramount's actual operations. If it stays independent, can it turn itself around?
Scale Is Not The Issue I'm angry. Usually, when an investment goes wrong, I can manage to be philosophical or even dispassionate about it. Risks of the trade, can't win 'em all, pick your maxim.
But this one is really getting to me. I'm sure part of that is simply the sheer amount of my portfolio that has suffered - I bet a lot more on Paramount than I did on my typical investment, so sure was I that it had the tools needed for success. Fortunately, some of my other media investments have worked out much, much better, or I'd really be hurting. In fact, my Netflix buy has repaired all the damage my Paramount buy has done.
Still, I'm unusually angry, partly because of the sheer amount lost. But it's also that I still don't believe there is anything wrong with Paramount, at its core. It has become quite commonplace to speak of Paramount's "lack of scale" as the reason for its apparent impending demise, or at least subsumption. But I would still argue that that isn't born out by the numbers. Paramount spent roughly $16 billion on content in 2023, the same total as 2022, when $4 billion of it was spent on streaming. That is only slightly less than Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) which leads the industry in market cap and performance, if not in spending. While the gap with other studio peers is larger, I'm not sure spending at Netflix levels equals a "lack of scale."
What's more, a lot of that extra spending by other traditional industry players like Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. (WBD) and The Walt Disney Company (DIS) is not spending that investors should necessarily cheer. As I've explained before, Paramount's lower spending total is almost entirely accounted for by its far more profitable approach to sports rights; a lot of that extra spending that Disney and Warner are doing isn't particularly profitable or even sensible.
What then, does account for Paramount's underperformance?
Stock Performance That depends on which underperformance you're talking about. First, the stock price. Paramount cut its dividend in spring 2023. That announcement, with its Q1 earnings, was enough to cause half of the past-year decline in a single day. Paramount went from $21 to $16 with the dividend cut and was still at $16 as late as December.
Since then, the other half of the decline has reflected the increasing evidence that Paramount is more or less ready to throw in the towel, and intends to be a distressed seller to another studio or private equity firm soon. More specifically, it is actually Shari Redstone, who exercises control over Paramount through her 77.3% share of Paramount's Class A voting stock, who is ready to call it quits. The perception that she has no leverage and will be forced to accept a fire sale offer has driven the stock lower.
Operations All that, however, merely explains the stock market decline; what is the operational explanation for Paramount's troubles? The company reported a $600 million loss for full year 2023. How is it that one of the Big Five movie studios, with the most popular of the Big Four broadcast networks, the most popular show on cable (Yellowstone) and the only profitable sports slate in American television, can't make money?
Accounting Element First, we need to acknowledge that there are some accounting factors in that 2023 loss. Paramount took a "programming charge," i.e., a write-down of the value of programming assets, of roughly $2.4 billion in Q1 and Q2 last year. That is money that would ordinarily be amortized over a period of years - it's mostly streaming originals, which Paramount usually amortizes over a 4-year period - that instead saw its red ink taken all at once. Had it been amortized normally, Paramount would have reported an operating profit of roughly $1.2 billion, more or less identical to 2022, instead of reporting an operating loss of the same amount.
Still, that write-down reflects the fact that the content isn't performing well, so those losses were always going to happen, and they're quite real; the accounting change is simply a timing issue. So Paramount is operationally deficient, even if perhaps not quite as operationally deficient as this one-time write-down makes it look. We cannot dismiss Paramount's operational issues by putting them down to accounting distortions.
TV Scripted Content Difficulties Paramount did not break down the programming charge, but outside reports have about half of it owing to the integration of Showtime in Paramount+ as a single service. It's not entirely clear which side of the ledger those losses are coming from; one of the less understood things about merging services is that it potentially makes content on both sides less valuable as it is replaced by more popular content from the other side. Showtime's Q1 2023 viewership was very top-heavy, with just two shows, Yellowjackets and Your Honor constituting 30% of all viewership. Presumably, those two shows reduced the value of some Paramount+ existing content while the rest of Showtime's library may have suffered from competition with P+ content.
Regardless of the exact source, Paramount's content is not performing. That's a little surprising considering that, as I said, CBS content is actually quite popular on the linear side. In fact, in the earnings call following the annual report now-former CEO Bob Bakish reported that CBS had the top 16 scripted programs and 18 of the top 20 in the first week of post-strike broadcasts. Paramount has disclosed in the past that CBS content makes up roughly half of the viewership on Paramount+; and this is despite the fact that P+ isn't even the sole beneficiary of CBS content; roughly $600 million per quarter of Paramount's licensing revenue comes from CBS shows as well.
One possibility that I perhaps did not consider sufficiently was the chance that the unique characteristics of CBS would make it harder for that channel to transition to streaming than its other broadcast peers. CBS is the most popular of all broadcast networks, but that popularity owes disproportionately to more elderly viewers; in the demo, it is actually Comcast Corporation's (CMCSA) NBC which takes the top crown.
With elderly viewers both less appealing to advertisers and less likely to make the transition to streaming, it is perhaps not so surprising that CBS is continuing to perform well on linear but having trouble translating that to streaming.
International Shortfall The damage isn't through yet, either. Paramount disclosed that it took another $1.2 billion impairment charge on content in the first quarter. This one has to do with the international side; a few years ago Paramount commissioned 150 new, original international shows and movies to try to boost international growth. Now, Paramount reveals that even international consumers spend no less than 90% of their time streaming Hollywood content; the local originals aren't doing very much for growth or retention.
About the only good thing that can be said about this complete and utter debacle is that it is a one-off; unlike Paramount's US content spending, which is ongoing and therefore must be made more efficient if Paramount is to survive and thrive, Paramount is gradually exiting International production. In fact, to help cover the losses on its international originals it is selling its share in Viacom18, the network that formerly served as Paramount's onshore operation in India, to its partner Reliance for a little over $500 million.
Where Are The Children? Yet another factor is children's programming. While many have essentially written off Paramount's entire cable channel group, and I agree the prognosis for MTV and Comedy Central is rather grim, I have argued that Nickelodeon remains a real asset, as one of the top two children's channels in linear TV. I believed that would be a powerful subscriber acquisition tool, alongside sports, as the streaming transition continued.
It hasn't worked out. Surveys consistently show the Big 3 for parents with children are Netflix, Disney, and the third is Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) of all things. Neither Paramount+ nor Warner Discovery's Max make the cut, despite ownership of top children's linear platforms/libraries Nickelodeon and Looney Tunes, respectively.
The prognosis here isn't entirely grim. Paramount has reported that half of their streaming subscribers touch kids' content regularly, so clearly Nickelodeon does mean something to the subscribers. It's possible it helps with retention, even if it doesn't drive acquisition. Paramount owns the number one brand for pre-school kids, Paw Patrol.
Paramount has shut down the separate Noggin streaming service and will presumably be amplifying the kids content on P+ as a result, so perhaps this trend will yet turn around. With so many other things going wrong, though, the inability to make kids content more central to the strategy is a painful blow.
The Mismanagement Of Streaming I suspect, however, that Paramount's single biggest defect over the past few years has been the competency of its management. In a streaming world, success hinges overwhelmingly on the efficiency with which a content budget is deployed. That efficiency, in turn, requires avoiding the trap of "overload," something cable doesn't have to worry about but which can kill a streaming service.
What Is Overload? In brief, overload is when a streaming service spends money on content that appeals primarily to those subscribers who were already subscribed and intending to remain subscribed, even without that content. Because revenue does not increase with more viewership, such spending is essentially wasted money. I have been arguing for several years that some economic models of streaming profitability fail to take account of this significant element.
Paramount seems to have had a lot of overload in the last few years. Specifically, its single most broadly appealing piece of content is the NFL, which Paramount is an anchor broadcaster for. Because NFL fans are accustomed to spending upwards of $100 a month on cable just to watch the NFL - over 10% of cable subscribers say that the NFL is the only reason they're still subscribing - Paramount's $6-$12 a month fee for streaming really doesn't need anything more than NFL games to attract these 40-50 million fans.
The Earnings Jaw-Dropper And yet, it seems that's where a lot of the extra streaming money has been going. On the Q2 earnings call last year, CEO Bob Bakish, watching the stock price steadily decline, seemed to be eager to reassure he had a handle on the situation and began describing some of the changes he'd be making. It started out well enough, really; he told investors that NFL viewers churn drops dramatically if they also engage with entertainment titles, which is what you'd expect.
But then, he stunned me and I expect just about everyone listening when he said, "we probably need to do less for [the NFL viewer] in the fall, and more outside the fall because we can rely on the NFL." Compounding the almost Looking Glass-feeling, he then went on to reassure everyone he would be "fine-tuning" the content strategy to address that point in the years to come.
It was, frankly, stunning. Both me and I suspect just about every analyst who was modeling Paramount had just assumed it went without saying that of course, any entertainment content targeted at retaining NFL viewers should drop in the other half of the year when the NFL wasn't playing on TV. My own calculations of the profit margin on CBS's NFL deal had always incorporated that.
And while that was bad enough, it also raised the concern that a management team that didn't understand that going in might have put a lot of other overload in other categories as well. Suddenly, it wasn't so hard to see how the best-scripted shop with the most profitable sports contracts was having trouble making money. Double-loading for 50 million households would be a major drag on the financial performance for streaming.
Light At The End Of The Tunnel Despite all of this, I still think there are bright spots in the Paramount picture, even without a merger. Its operations, as well as its merger discussions, don't seem to lack potential.

1: My Usual Paramount Bull Argument: Sports Profits

One thing that continues to go right is sports content. A few years ago, I wrote that Paramount was a strong contender to become a sustainable streaming business because it had the only profitable sports slate in the business. The stock hasn't gone where I wanted it to go, but that is the one part of my thesis that has been definitively borne out. In fact, many now say that it is CBS's sports deals, at least as much as Paramount's film/TV studio, that the prospective buyers of Paramount are after.
I've covered these in other articles already. The March Madness deal runs until 2032 and the NFL deal runs until 2033, although the NFL has an opt out after 2029 that it will probably exercise given the utterly ludicrous bids the NBA is receiving, so the last four years of that deal might have to be chopped off the profit projections. Even so, Paramount can probably generate $1.25 billion a year in profit just off of those two deals for the next six years.
Those are probably the biggest, but it doesn't stop there. Almost every sports deal Paramount has is profitable. For all the flak management has deservedly taken, Paramount continues to show discipline and focus on sports. You won't find Paramount throwing $2.5 billion a year at the NBA's 'B' package, which is more money than the NFL gets for its 'B' package despite having 10x the viewership.
For all its many, many missteps, a Paramount that can just manage to stay afloat long enough for some of these ludicrous sports bets at other companies to blow up may yet find itself with cards to play later in the decade.

2: Recouping Write-downs Via Preferred Conversion

Another small boon has been the official conversion of the preferred shares. The Paramount mandatory convertible formerly trading under the PARAP ticker was capped at 0.85 shares per common share. Given the initial price of the convertible at $100 per share, that effectively means that a preferred share that was carrying a $100 liquidation value has just been converted into 1.1765 shares of a common stock currently trading around $12. A total value per preferred share of around $14.
And they sold for $1 billion, so that's basically $860 million back into the common equity that management was able to get at the peak of the boom. That actually repairs almost all of the red ink from Paramount's doomed international originals push on its own.

3: An End To Streaming Waste

Finally, a lot of the waste in streaming may soon be ending. Bob Bakish was finally fired a few weeks ago, and while I never want someone to lose their job, he frankly had looked overmatched for a while. Bakish was a lifetime cable executive who seemed to be having trouble making the transition to a streaming-world mindset. Frankly, if I knew about it in 2021, the CEO has no business fine-tuning it into the strategy in 2023.
With international originals no longer draining the coffers and overloaded entertainment programming shifted to months of the calendar where it can be more productive, streaming may yet turn the corner.
Investment Summary I recognize fully that each fall in Paramount stock makes my bullish optimism seem ever more out of step. I do believe, however, that Paramount's failures are more failures of execution than lack of scale or structural disadvantage. Paramount CEO Bob Bakish simply wasn't up to the job. Ironically that wasn't what got him fired; Bakish was almost certainly fired for opposing Redstone's plan to enrich herself at the expense of other shareholders, probably the most competent thing he did in the last few years of his whole tenure.
Paramount has everything it needs to be successful; profitable sports contracts, which is just unbelievable in this day and age, a thriving scripted TV operation, and a viable, if recently somewhat mismanaged, streaming service. An end to overload waste, the continued exploitation of its favorable sports slate, throttling back unhelpful international originals and boosting kids content engagement may yet produce a different streaming picture going forward. Should older viewers start to get more comfortable with streaming going forward and following their favorite programs to Paramount+, that would just be icing on the cake.
It's been a depressing ride the last few years, but I'm sticking with Paramount.

Im sure someone else as has mentioned this at some point but i cant help but notice the similarities between Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and The early FNAF timeline (games 1-6) both in main plot points and minute specific details. I am aware that it is not a perfect comaruson at all, just something i thought was interesting after studying the novel as well as watching the fnaf timeline videos. For example, in the beginning of the novel, Victor falls deep into his studies, becoming extremely obsessed and enraptured with the essence of life and mortality, more specifically how to extend and create life Much like William's experimentations and studies in robotics, shown through the blueprints etc. Seen in sister location in creating animatronics for the specific purpose of luring and capturing children for his experiments with remnant, experiments in bestowing life to a once inanimate creature, much like the creature created by Victor. Another way FNAF parallels with Mary Shelley's Frankenstien is through the death and distruction of the family unit due to the protagonists horrific actions, for Victor, this is through the tragic death of his younger brother William, (a funny coincidence but not the main point) a murder caused by his own creation, much like the death of the crying child in FNAF, as well as the death of Victor's best friend HENRY clerval, His wife ELIZABETH, his father and eventually himself as well as the extreme trauma bestowed on the only surviving member of the family who witnessed these horrors , Ernest. (another few strange coincidences that do not contribute at all to my point but i thought it was worth noting anyway. I am aware they are common names i just thought it was worth a note when compairing the parallels in thr two stories.) Similarly, William's experiments are also what ends up in the distruction of his family, causing the death of his youngest son, his daughter Elizabeth, the ALMOST death and extreme trauma of Michael due to his fathers experiments as well as the trauma bestowed on Henry through the loss of his daughter and being associated with someone who could commit such horrible acts, the loss of his wife (through divorce/separation or otherwise) and his own "death" once again at the hand of his own creation, his springlock suit. There are multiple other parallels and similarities i could call out but these were the most prominent that stood out to me while studying the novel. Im aware a lot of this is coincidental but as Frankenstien is considered the novel that completely changed the Horror genre i couldnt help but think if perhaps it unintentionally influenced the FNAF storyline. Again, im aware this is HIGHLY UNLIKELY but i just thought it was interesting to look into the parallels of two things that at a first glance could not be more different that turn out to have many more similarities beteen their underlying stories than at first glance. I'd love to know if anyone else has found something similar with other works of literature or film in the past, i think its a really facinating topic!

With the game being popular and leaving a few choice questions unanswered I think there’s one point that’s been bugging me since I finished the game that I think answers a lot of those unanswered questions
Of course spoilers from here out and sorry for weird formatting I’m on mobile also TLDR at the bottom
So I’ll go over the widely accepted points leading up to this. The pool was created by people from the future to prevent some kind of Mass Extinction event from destroying humanity as we know it and Edward Crow’s father disrupted the process of bringing people back while Edward himself continued the process of mining the roots and further disrupted the time travel device. Pretty much all of that is confirmed in game very explicitly. But there are a few questions that remain unanswered; why choose 1988 to come back? What was the disaster that cause the process to begin with? What are the numbers 2106 supposed to mean?
Now a lot of what I’ve seen for theory’s on the answers above are fairly in line, the disaster was some kind of global warming or climate crisis because it parallels with the Crows abuse of the roots as corroborated with some paintings in blood that appear later in the game. But I have one question that I haven’t seen anywhere else in discussions about the game (not that it isn’t there I just haven’t seen it) that I think provides a better argument for the disaster being a plague caused by a bootstrap paradox.
My question is……..Why in that location specifically? Maybe it’s just bc I’m from the ATL area I was super curious why the British devs chose that area for the setting of the game. Imagine your world is dying and you HAVE to find a way to prevent it from ever happening, (presumably after trying everything else bc I doubt time travel and potentially destroying all of reality is anyone’s first pick) why build your saving grace in Atlanta, Georgia? It isn’t a major metropolitan area, it’s not the capital of the U.S or some huge political force and it’s certainly NOT super open to change especially in the later 80’s. So why Atlanta? My theory is because it’s the home for the Center of Disease Control. That’s the only real reason to pick the ATL area for your last ditch effort to prevent a disaster. If they could get the disease in front of medical experts and have them analyze the infection and create a cure then the disaster would never really happen in the first place.
But then that begs the question of why 1988? Now here’s where I think the bootstrap paradox comes into play.
If you’re unfamiliar with the term it basically describes a thought experiment of time travel when an event is repeated due to itself causing a causal loop. Say a time traveler was a huge fan of Mozart, so he travels back in time to see him but when he gets to the time period where Mozart was popular he finds there is no Mozart. So he decides to write all of Mozart’s music and perform them himself under the name Mozart, thus “creating” the persona of the famous artist. The question becomes who originally wrote Mozarts music? It’s a surprisingly common trope in pop culture: Back to the Future with Chuck Berry’s song “Johnny B. Good” all of Skynet from the Terminator series, even my example above is stolen from Dr. Who.
So how is Crow Country a BSP? I think the time travelers from the future picked 1988 because it was the first time the disease was documented in official records, from Elaine’s trip to the hospital. I also think the disease was caused from the disruption of the pool which is why they never understood its origin enough to re-engineer a cure and why Edward Crow could. In my theory as well I don’t think the tougher and more diverse enemies later in the game were caused by the CC team further excavating the roots, I think it was caused by people who were already infected coming through the portal. It doesn’t really make sense for them to be from Edward digging up more of the roots, he had been doing that for years up until the start of the game. So something else had to change over the short period of time shown in the game itself and I think that’s infected people coming through hoping to be cured since it should have been long enough from when the first “Guest” arrived that the cure had been developed.
Finally for the two endings of the game. The bad ending obviously is the one where you don’t take the cure and decide to (presumably) let everyone die from the infection, thus burying the cure and dooming all of humanity. The good ending is you decide to trust Crow and take the cure, thus saving yourself and potentially others by the cure being able to be synthesized from your blood. I think that’s also why Crow isn’t able to describe the future yet when he comes back out of the pool, because by that point in the timeline you haven’t picked whether to save everyone or not.
TLDR; Crow Country is a bootstrap paradox cause by the bacterial disease that develops from coming out of the pool. That’s why the pool was built(?) in the ATL area, why the time travelers chose 1988 and why the two endings have greater meaning beyond just the fate of your characters that survived.
Feel free to tell me if I’m wrong or poke holes in this theory I just couldn’t stop thinking about it and wanted to put it out there!

2024.05.22 00:50 Warm-Wave-3605 What’s everyone’s favorite and least favorite character and case from each game?

For THH I’d have to say Kyoko is my favorite character. I usually love detective characters in any piece of media and I also really like her relationship with Makoto
My least favorite has probably gotta be Hifumi or Junko. Hifumi was annoying asf and expressed borderline predatory behavior at multiple points in the game
Junko was a fine mastermind in the first game though I still thought the hope and despair thing was pretty dumb and kinda cringe even the first time but she just kept coming back and as a result overstayed her welcome
My favorite case in THH is with no competition 1-2. It had so many twists and turns and memorable moments. The genocider reveal, Byakuya messing with the crime scene which was the first time we experienced antagonistic behavior from one of the students in the series, Chihiro being a boy and Mondo’s sad backstory. I loved the antithesis between mondo and chihiro. Also this case is unique cause the murder was done on impulse and wasn’t pre meditated, in contrast to almost all other murders in the series, which made this case even more real to me.
Worst case was 1-3. Because Celeste is just retarded here and so is the rest of the cast. I mean why would the killer want to show which order they killed the victims in with the numbers of the hammers? Celeste is extremely obvious as the culprit and I am convinced she wasn’t even trying to hide it. Throughout that entire trial whenever the cast figures out something Celeste just outright lies and denies it AND THEN GETS PROVEN WRONG. It’s just her who does this, even if she wasn’t the culprit I probably would have still voted for her for acting so suspicious. The name coincidence with Yasuhiro was super dumb and contrived too. What’s most offending though is that the game is trying to convince you even before Celeste gets executed that she’s a good liar. No dude she’s not a good liar, Gonta would probably be a better liar than her. I don’t really mind the unsympathetic motive weirdly, but the rest was awful
For SDR2 my favorite character is Fuyuhiko with Hajime and Chiaki as close 2nds and 3rds respectively. Fuyuhiko had such great character development and a really emotional trial. Even though he was a Yakuza he debatably was one of the most ethical characters in the cast. We stan Fuyuhiko
My least favorite would have to be Akane. Akane is just a waste of a survivor spot. She’s not useful in class trials, she’s not that interesting (yes I’ve played her FTE I still don’t like her) and her being hungry all the time was not funny. The survivor spot should have been given to Hiyoko who really really sucks as well cause she got no development and died a hatable little bitch. What’s worse is that she was gonna get development. And no it was not worth it for Akane to live for the sake of Nekomaru’s memory cause we already have Sonia being a survivor in Gundham’s memory. I am sorry I really don’t like Akane 🙃
Favorite trial is 2-4 I loved learning how that funhouse worked it was really unique and interesting. Also Nagito’s personality shift in this trial was really good too. Gundham was great here, sacrificing himself for the rest of the group while putting on the mask of the villain so they wouldn’t feel sad plus his relationship with Sonia was really cute and seeing her beg Monokuma not to execute him was heartbreaking. Also this was the only murder in the series which was basically consensual besides V3-2 since both Nekomaru and Gundham were ready to sacrifice themselves for the group
Least favorite is 2-3. I- I don’t think I even wanna get into this. The despair disease is one of the worst things I’ve seen in a video game. Literally if anyone else got Mikan’s disease they’d have killed as well, she killed just because she was unlucky. Hiyoko’s murder isn’t even discussed, it’s like no one cares and everyone just assumes the same person killed them both. Mikan who is the clumsiest character in the game pulls inhumane shit that makes no sense and on top of that they assassinate her character by the end of the trial. This is the worst case in the series, fuck 2-3
For V3 my favorite character is Kokichi, he’s my favorite character in the series and one of my favorite fictional characters. He’s so darn complex and interesting and embodies the themes of the game perfectly. I really don’t like how a lot of the fan base seems to mischaracterise him as either some UwU boy or evil incarnate cause the truth is he is very much somewhere in the middle, probably in the grey area but I’d say he’s leaning towards the good side more. I can literally write a 500 word thesis on why this little lying bastard is peak but I won’t get into it here. I also love Shuichi, Kaito and Maki overall they are my 4 favorite in the franchise. I love v3 if you couldn’t telll
As for least favorite I really don’t think V3 has a single bad character imo they were all used extremely well and are all memorable and unique in their own way but if I had to pick one it’d be Tsumugi. I know she had to stick around for the Mastermind reveal but she’s just so boring throughout the entire game which I know is the point but I still would have much rather have had someone else in her place
For my favorite case I’d have to go with V3-5, it’s my favorite in the series actually. This is probably the most complex case in the entire franchise and it pulls it off really well without feeling too convuluted. There so are many twists and turns and great moments here like Maki confessing her love to Kaito, Monokuma teaming up with you and everyone having to come to terms with the fact that kaito was the one who died. Also the fact that the 2 characters who liked each other the least cooked up a plan to defeat the mastermind, really epic plus it was cool to see that Kokichi really wasn’t all that bad in the end and wanted to end the killing game his own way even if that meant he had to go to extreme lengths to do so.
I really don’t think V3 has a bad case I quite enjoyed them all but if I had to pick one as the least good it’d be V3-3. Crazy how all my least favorite cases are chapter 3’s. But unlike the other 2 this one is not as bad. Yes, Korekiyo’s motive is extremely odd and weird but to me it felt kinda refreshing to see a student that was completely mad and done well, looking at you Celeste. If you do Korekiyo’s FTE you’ll understand why he does the things he does and the fact that he mistook his abusive relationship with his sister as love and as a result became mad. It’s pretty interesting, Kork isn’t just funi seesaw dude. He also killed some the 2 most annoying character in the cast so good on you Kork. Other than that even though I didn’t like Tenko I think she went out in a great way passing down her wishes to Himiko and ultimately making her a better and much more interesting character worthy of being a survivor. There are a lot of great emotional moments with Himiko here. The reason why this is my least favorite trial is because of the missed opportunity of having 2 killers. Before we get to that it should also be noted that most of the trial is spent on tenko’s death which is kinda weird seeing as it’s not the one that matters for the entire cast to survive. The fact that the game gets your hopes up for there to be 2 blackends and the fact that they may have to live with a killer among them is so darn disappointing when you learned that Kork killed them both. Overall even though this trial isn’t on par with the rest of the V3 ones I still think it’s a good one despite a lot of people not liking it

I'm shocked how quickly I was able to get approved for this. I'm reading mortality statistics, about the nausea and countering that, preventing constipation, hair loss, etc. I'm trying not to get too in my head before liftoff here.
I watched a "simple" youtube video a little while ago on how to self administer the shot and I'm feeling incredibly dumb as it isn't as straightforward as I thought.
I don't want to overthink myself out of this it's only $24 a month after insurance for me. I've wanted to lose weight my entire adult life. This could be game changing for me (or I could die 😔). Did everyone else feel crazy right before they did first injection as far as being on the fence and overthinking themselves out of it?
I intend to capture my entire progress (if I survive lol) and share the journey. I'm just freaking out right now.

So about a year ago I played a card game with a group of people at a random party I was invited to. I no longer have contact with those people and can’t really ask them about the game but I figured I could come here and ask you all to possibly get help figuring out the name of the game because anyone I explain it to has never heard of it. So the game starts with you choosing some amount of cards in the pack (let’s say 30 out of the total 200 cards) and then there are 3 rounds of the game. The first round you try to describe the card and give clues to help your team guess, the second round is you acting out the cards to help your team guess, and the third round you can say only one single word to help your team guess. You go through the cards as fast as possible and accrue points for their difficulty (the point values are on the cards and vary) when guessing correctly. Each team gets a chance at that round once before going onto the next. The cards are all phrases, pop culture references, events in time, songs, movie titles, characters, etc. please help me here, no it’s not cards against humanity, apples to apples, or any of those other popular games as I’ve only heard of it that one time I played it

I recently created a little Waterparks lyrics guessing game where you can generate random lyrics from Waterparks' discography and guess which song they come from. There are easy, medium, and hard modes, and the number of lines generated decreases with increasing difficulty. This game works best on a computer, but mobile works too! I thought it'd be nice to share this with the public if anyone has suggestions/errors, as well as a name for the game that is more creative than "Waterparks Lyrics Guessing Game." I have a couple of suggestions for dota that i have thought about through the years.
The first:
For new players that is staring off playing the game to have some sort of new tag next to their names. It has happend a couple of times that the community gets toxic towards someone but that player is genuinly learning. And as soon as the toxic player hears this they change and act nice towards the new person. I honestly think this might make the game a bit more enjoyable for newer players after the new player mode expires.
The second:
Let me picture a scenario for you. I am playing enigma. And i have this big brain idea that the entire enemy team is in rosh pit and i immediately blink in to black hole. But alas the pit was empty of enemies and i whiffed black hole. I fucked up. I know it. My team knows it. And then the tips usually start. But my suggestion is why tf cant i tip myself. If i am able to tip myself my team can see i know i fucked up and might lessen toxicity. And well if there were 5 people caught in the black hole then i can also tip myself as n pat on my own back.
And the last suggestion:
The efiggies in the bases. I swear the liking system on these things has been busted for like 4 years now. Why not fix this and maybe try and make it a little more flashy or just relevant. It seems old compared to everything else. Dont know if its just me.

Chocolate Column 1: A Sweet Start
Race 85:
A strong start to the week with a 2nd place finish. Bonbon bid their time in the start and was able to get aggressive down the stretch to snag a superb start.
Race 86:
After a little “lateral movement” in the starting blocks, Bonbon comes home in 6th. At the halfway mark, Bonbon sits 3rd overall and 9 points ahead of Yellah. We should be safe, but a decent finish will just about seasl the deal.
Other News:
In other news, what a recovery by Aryp to win the second race. After being bullied by the fidget spinner, Aryp stormed their way back and wowed the crowd. You could hear many of the eliminated teams’ fans cheering for the comeback as it happened.
Something that hasn’t been talked about too much, certainly not on this blog, is how well Swax and Slimelime have done to this point. Being reserves, you must think that a promotion to the main rotation is on the cards. Think of how many captains and other top marbles they have beaten out.
Yellah is in grave danger. 3 points away from Slimelime, they need to finish at least 5th to have a shot at survival.
Swax is set to move on with any halfway decent result tomorrow. Awesome to see dominance even now.
Short and Sweet is the name of the game for The Chocolate Column. Bonbon looks set to survive but anything can happen in this wild event so stay tuned!

Good lord. I used to be an art teacher and I would never give her a passing grade. Everything about that is terrible. From choice of colours, to composition, to poor skill in applying the (clearly wrong type of) paint. It's awful on every level.
Man, now I'm wondering if any of the music teachers I had as a kid retired because of my terrible playing 😭😭😭😭
Yep, having to see atrocities like this day in, day out, really started to kill my love of art. I'd much rather create art than have to lie and try to encourage talentless people just so they could get a passing grade. I hope you still play guitar and enjoy it more now!
It's an unfortunate fact of life: If you spend the majority of your time with people who have a low skill level at something you also do, they will eventually influence your own skill level, even if it's just in terms of motivation and creativity. It will literally dull that part of your brain. If you spend time with people who are better than you, it will encourage you to up your own game (it's better that the people aren't geniuses, though, or it can backfire! Just a level or 2 better than you is best!).
No such thing as bad students, only bad teachers. Though it seems OPs girlfriend taught herself.
