Most of us wave and say hello to each other now and then. 30 mins past the hour, no offers or 1 Sam's club offer to drive 30 miles, with 6 drop offs, for a nickel (😠) However 3 of the Prius's pull up in pickup, load a large order and are off.... Another hour passes, no (literally none) offer. 45 after, 2 of the previous Prius's pull up in pickup and load up a large order. The rest of us may pickup a small shopping here and there. Some hold out for something more than $11...Most sit and wait for anything. 😡😡😡 I've spoken to management, they said get along or I'll get booted. I've (childishly) asked them (Prius owners) if they used bots, they called the police on me for following them (was in the parking lot the entire time) The cops said get along or we'll both be booted. So I just sit here, watching them pick up order after order...?

 | This is more to observation regarding FFXIV music I hear and I feel/think to post here submitted by Famas_1234 to ffxiv [link] [comments] FFXIV soundtrack factually has many leitmotifs even the community have tracked all the leitmotifs in a website form. I'm a bit enthusiastic about video game soundtracks at the past, but FFXIV feels like a good place to take the data for it. However, as the content formula is going established, or for better or worse matured, I think there is a predictability in the content including the tracks because they are tied to each other. So I want to open this from the data then we talk about the tracks themselves. Based on what I've gathered in the web, motifs are musical notes/movements/passages that are modular to use for contextual stuffs (characters/environments/moments), which further called leitmotifs. Say like a specific character coming in the stage, the notes are played similarly which makes the music memorable by using leitmotif technique. This is also frequently used in FFXIV too. However, there must have something in the balance. Too reliant on motifs may sound boring. But no motifs may sound nothing or less memorable (unless they make you pump it out). With motifs and leitmotifs together, you can also predict the scene what will happen next. But you may argue not every moment must have motifs so that it can decrease predictability, or not everything must be reliant to it so that it may sound unique. I believe there is a technique for that. In the end, it's the composers'/arrangers' ability to create. They can use it, but it's about how they insert those. It can be subtle in plain sight, or blatantly in your face. You may feel this kind of thing, and I feel that too. But because I am usually data driven, I would like to share the data, accompanied by how the game is designed. The game design is also crucial for the music itself. The DataTo use the data. I use my sound tracker data whose the leitmotif tracker is based from the compendium. Here's the data I've collected so farAlbum version. Alright then, I'll upload it here FFXIV 1.0 is kinda minimal on motifs besides classic FF motifs ARR motifs are increasing. Not to deny the major relaunch of the game ARR 2.x is minimal in comes into reusability Heavensward 3.0 was the first to establish the formula, hence high reusability Then followed by 3.x which was the early template for future motifs Stormblood 4.0 has high reusability based on the field themes, but still not as much as Heavensward. You can neglect other one-off FF themes (I blame collaborations) Shadowbringers has high reusability, may on par or more then Heavensward. Ignore the 1s, they're bloated anyway Shadowbringers patches are also good while maintaining the post patch status compared the launch patch Endwalker is simplified but you can see the numbers are much higher. Maybe too much? Too many 1s man. But also many motifs from previous versions are represented again The Content and ImplementationFor main expansion motifs, they can be separated into pieces. However, main expansion motifs usually being reordered to give variety, but still the same. This is the case for:

That means, you can estimate for each expansion, you probably get at least 11 main categories + 6 fields * 3 = 29 tracks. It can be more if we count more cutscene music and other eventful music that uses motifs. It can be approximately 35 tracks with motifs, but that is in estimate. Yes, I made the numbers above without reference, but let's go to the real data. Let's open Endwalker album as the example. Here's what I get. With Endwalker data above, I've counted that only 5/63 tracks (~8%) that are independent from the motifs. Motifs/Leitmotifs are contextual, but how predictable in FFXIV?Predictability here comes into sections:
Shock factor here means you don't expect one/some of the motifs are applied in the scene you are currently in. For example, who would think The Twinning music is a combination of Crystal Tower and Omega motif? Who would also think Anamnesis Anyder uses long buried Sastasha motif? How about mash all the old motifs in your face like how they made "Embers" which includes all tracks related to Lahabrea? How do you expect "Dynamis" comes back to "Flow" motif? Context: I'm a 2nd-year student at a T100 undergrad 7-year BS/MD program and I am trying to figure out whether I should apply out.
My direct med program grants me admission to a ~T50 medical school, however, the school has three different campuses. Two of them are more rural and are more catered towards FM/less competitive specialties while the third campus (the more desirable one) is in the heart of the city and is generally much better for research, networking, and specialty choice (this is likely the campus the T50 ranking is based off). Previously, students in the program were allowed to pick any campus and have it be guaranteed for them. This would be true even if we chose to apply out. Per a recent policy change, we can be guaranteed a seat at the main city campus ONLY if I choose not to apply out to any other medical school. If I do choose to apply out, I forfeit the campus guarantee but retain my medical school seat. However, since this is a new policy and the administration is not being super transparent, we are not sure what applying out will do to our chance of being placed at the city campus (it may be impossible, it may still be possible but improbable, they refuse to say).
I would be very happy with taking the city campus guarantee, however, I'm not sure if I have a chance at getting into a T20 medical school. More specifically, I'm not sure if my chance of getting into a T20 is good enough that I can confidently forgo a guaranteed seat at the city campus. That is why, after literal years of scouring reddit for answers, I've decided to turn to reddit once more. (Yes ik applications are due in ~1 week)

Clinical Experience: 150 hours working as an EMT at submission, projected ~800 hours (just started working this semester after wrapping up the MCAT). 150 hours of basic hospital volunteering. 100 hours of volunteer experience from a club that I have a leadership position in.
Physician Shadowing: ~50 hours across 4 specialties
Non-clinical volunteering: 150 hours across two clubs I have leadership positions in.
Misc. extracurriculars: Leadership roles in 4 large organizations both on and off campus. Won a few awards and research grants. Have a hobby with ~300-400 hours that I’ve pursued on my own.
LoRs: 6 letters. Ranging from what I hope are decently strong to very strong letters from my PIs, one science prof, one non-science prof, and an academic advisor. Last letter is what's probably a very mid letter from a second science prof cause I realized I needed a second science faculty letter lmao
Personal Statement: Probably the weakest part of my application considering AMCAS opens next week and I've only just drafted them. Finding the motivation to write is difficult enough, but considering this whole policy chance shit, it's becoming increasingly frustrating to put in the work when I don't even know what I should do.
Sorry for the long post and slightly vague details (trying to remain as anonymous as I can lol). So my question after all of this is: Given my application strength/details, is it worth essentially giving up a free spot in a T50 school for the low chance that I get into a better school (preferably T20 since I'd rather just stay at my home school than go to anything lower than that) or should I just shut up and take my acceptance and continue kicking ass at this school.

In February I bought an advertisement with a company selling ad spots for a local golf club's score books. I paid them and sent them the artwork, and they sent me the invoice and all was well.
Today I decided to perform some due diligence and go out too the club to see if my ad was where they said it would be, and needless to say it was not, but it was worse than I expected.
I was able to speak to the business manager of the club and through our discussion he made it clear that while he had spoken to this company before, they did not yet have an agreement in place to actually produce the scorebook.
The business manager of the club told me that he was questioning the veracity of the company himself, as he had been getting calls asking if it was a scam, told that the ad company was misrepresenting to the potential advertisers the amount of traffic they would receive, and he was very alarmed to hear that they had already taken my money for the ad spot despite having no agreement in place.
This of course prompted me to check my invoice and review their terms and conditions - to which they of course have a no-refund policy beyond a 24 hour cancellation window, and require any legal action to be taken in their own state.
My question becomes this: If they refuse to refund me, do I have ANY legal ground to stand on to sue them for misrepresenting their relationship with the club? For my money back or anything? What are my options in this situation? It also sounds like others may have fallen into this situation as well based on what the club manager said. Any advice is appreciated!

I am a college intern (not a paid one) who started doing marketing and communication and they promote things from the university that relates to science, phycology, professional development and diversity but most of the things that are diversity related are Chinese culture related, such as their religion, their festivals and other stuff
There some Muslim stuff there but not a lot. My role there is that I I do a spread sheet on the sites that my colleague is responsible for reviewing such as it’s updates and I think she promotes it (I’m still new so I don’t quite understand).
I feel like I’m contributing to haram and I wanna tell my mentor so bad that I skipped some of the pages that involve Chinese religion or cutler but I know there’s a chance she might get into trouble since she’s responsible for handling the marketing
Btw I don’t promote that stuff I put it on the list on a excel spreadsheet
The main question is am I sinful or am I overreacting?

I need to get all new tires. For a minivan. 235/60r18. My options are Goodyear for 900 at Sam’s club. Toyo for 860. Firestone for 800. At a mom and pop shop. They said Toyo was upper tier and Firestone is mid grade. I didn’t expect to pay anything over 700 for mid to upper tier so I’m at a loss. Seems like prices are generally the same everywhere.

Anyone else used to feed their cat(s) Deli-Cat kibbles before they disappeared one day from shelves??? I read that Purina discontinued them in 2019 — some folks were still able to find them in 2020 until all were sold out. Just seeing this pail bucket alone is straight up nostalgia. My cat doesn’t like his dry food the same way anymore.
Any idea why it’s discontinued? Too much food coloring, “fillers”?

I know that dealing with acne is not an easy trip because I've had it for around eighteen years. I've heard a lot of unpleasant and nasty remarks about my features growing up. I've received "gifts" and unwanted suggestions to repair my face. Even yet, they happen far less frequently now that I can finally count fewer than ten pimples on my face! Until recently, I was very certain that I would pass away from old age and that my face wouldn't even show through the coffin. Up until the last two months, I've been so terrified to properly look in the mirror because I've internalised so many nasty remarks. My modifications include: - I've moved to almond milk; - I cover my pillowcase with a t-shirt every day. - After washing my face, pat dry with a clean paper towel. Don't dry your face with towels anymore. - I discovered that eating extremely spicy food can cause breakouts on my skin. - If I wash my hair, I save the face cleanser for last in the shower to remove the chemicals and oils from my hair products. - less picky about my face. - hand washing before making facial contact.
AM - AprilSkin Calendula face wash/organic black soap - If skin is too dry that morning, I use the fresh hydrating cleanser. - Pixi Tonic - collagen - AprilSkin Carrot serum (might skip if skin is oily that morning) - AprilSkin Carrot Cream - No sunscreen since I'm working remotely
PM - AprilSkin Calendula face wash/fresh hydrating cleansecerave hydrating cleanser - depending on how my skin feels that night - fresh rose toner - fresh deep hydration cream (when my face is dry) or AprilSkin Carrot cream, sometimes tret fromhighstreetpharma

It was a big lesson to learn how to balance between the harsher but more effective solutions without drying out my sensitive, acne-prone skin. Glytone and epiduo are excellent for recent breakouts, however I was never able to use them more than twice a week. My preference would be for the fresh cleanser at night because the calendula cleanser is less moisturising than the organic black soap, especially if I used it in the morning. For the same reason, I wouldn't mix glytone and black soap in one day. I would rather be too hydrated than too dry.

I am a college intern (not a paid one) who started doing marketing and communication and they promote things from the university that relates to science, phycology, professional development and diversity but most of the things that are diversity related are Chinese culture related, such as their religion, their festivals and other stuff
There some Muslim stuff there but not a lot. My role there is that I I do a spread sheet on the sites that my colleague is responsible for reviewing such as it’s updates and I think she promotes it (I’m still new so I don’t quite understand).

I'm a graduate, so I know very little about what's normal and what's not in the workplace. Please help me understand what's going on.
In my contract, I would need to report to A, the head of the department. But after I started my job, I was asked to report to B, who is the leader of the team, who's also responsible for my performance and probation reviews.
Also, in my contract, I have a probation period of 9 months, and during my 6-month performance review, I'm told that I'm on PIP and they'll extend my probation to 9 months. I don't get it, I have 9 months probation period anyways?
During my 3-month performance review, the team lead told me I was doing well, and only needed to keep learning. I got a rating of 3/5 without major problems being pointed out.
3 months later, I had my 6-month review. Right before the review, I had a weekly catch-up with the team lead. She told me: "You're doing good, keep doing what you're doing." And then, during my 6-month review, she suddenly invited HR without telling me in advance, and during the review, she told me I performed really badly, was rude to clients (never been told before), made a lot of mistakes (never been told about any of them before), and made no progress (never had a written down training plan). So, I'm on PIP. HR asked me whether I agree with it, I tried to argue and asked the team lead "so what about the xxx project I've done well for the whole team, why it's not mentioned?". The team lead said "although you've done okay on that project, you still failed to do well on what I've mentioned above. You will need PIP." HR definitely agreed with her, and then they asked me to sign the performance sheet...........................................
I'm so angry and sad. I feel like I'm not being treated fairly. Not at all. But I'm too lack of experience to say anything. Please help me.

2024.05.21 15:23 Expensive_Clock985 Can't print with Anycubic Standard HD resin
 | I have a new bottle of Anycubic Standard HD (Gray) and I've been struggling to get a single print from it off of my Elegoo Saturn 3. Currently, the only thing that I get after printing with the gray resin is what looks like the very first layer of the print, and the rest never builds up. FEP is in relatively good shape and the screen is in perfect condition. Up to this point, I've used Sunlu Standard (Green) and have been able to print just fine with it so I'm certain its not a leveling issue or other mechanical issue. I'm reviewing the specs between the Sunlu resin and the Anycubic resin and Sunlu offers a much better spec sheet. I can post my resin settings that I use in VoxeldanceTango to see if there's something that I'm missing. I'd hate to waste the entire bottle if I can't get it to print reliably.  | Howdy there! For the past year an a half I've been working on a passion project of mine - a dog owners' dating/playdates app and I finally have a version I am somewhat satisfied of and I'd love to hear some feedback. I definitely underestimated the effort needed to do this app and it didn't helped react-navigation to react-native-navigation in the middle of it (several issues, most notably I couldn't get reliable shared animation transitions with react-navigation). The backend (NodeJS) has certainly been a piece of cake, even with some long queries for providing next matches based on location, filters and likeliness of a match - but the app itself has been a bit more challenging - especially because I like to keep everything up to date and the react native upgrades have been less than optimal for me, particularly on Android. Which leads me to the 2x worst development experience on Android - from the simulator, to android devices that I've tested to the Play Store process - is it only me? Apple certainly is annoying with their demanding reviews, but hey - free testing. So I'd love to hear some feedback from any of you willing to give it a go - I'm thinking of having this final round of feedback and launching marketing in a week or two. The problem I see with this type of app is that you need a lot of people for it to be usable - my idea is to target specific countries/cities one by one. Hey everyone, I've just returned home from the player sponsor trivia night as representative for our adopted child, Josh Weddle. Apologies in advance as I had no idea what to expect, the comms seemed to indicate there was limited contact but the players literally sat and ate with us the whole time. Otherwise I would've banked up some questions from you all, although I did my best to ask about all sorts of things.
As for how the night went down, I literally had no idea what to expect. Walking into Glenferrie Hotel, we took our name tags and walked to our table only to walk in on virtually the whole team hanging around. The staff had us leave that area for a little bit whilst they got prepared, and whilst enjoying a nice frothie, in walks Sic, Hardwick and Watson. We gave each other the nod as they entered.
When we were allowed to go to our table, we took our seats, when a voice from behind asked us: "how are you guys going tonight?" by none other than Luke Breust. We had a good chat for 15 minutes, I congratulated him on his newborn and he told me about how he was finding fatherhood (all going great). Another person from the table started speaking to Breusty, but that's when our lord and saviour and adopted child Josh Weddle arrived. First things first, Josh Weddle is an absolute legend and we couldn't have had a more perfect player to sponsor. He was super genuine and actively engaged in conversation with the table the whole time.
I let him know how much we at /hawktalk love him and are impressed by him. I also told him he's never allowed to leave the hawks and that I'll glue him to Dingley if I have to. Weddle gave off some great vibes about how much he enjoys being at Hawthorn, so I don't think we have anything to worry about there. I also learned an interesting fact that he was originally a North supporter growing up, which shocked me as I had read he was always Hawks. He said he saw the Hawks link reported on, but wasn't sure where that came from haha.
We spoke about our heartbreaking loss, and I framed a question around whether we planned to go defensive like we did, or whether the game just went that way for us. He couldn't say much, but indicated that the team felt comfortable with the lead and just happened to fall into a defensive mindset. He also didn't appreciate the tag he received for 3 quarters haha. He also was really keen on the fact we were only a couple of wins away from the top 8. I told him I thought we played fantastic regardless of the result, and that at least this happened in a bit of a nothing H&A game rather than say a 3 point win in a prelim leading to a grand final cough cough 2014 ;) we still have that over them hahahah
We also spoke about his interests, hobbies, etc.
I was able to have another chat with Breusty, I spoke with him about his future post-AFL life and how clubs work with players to prepare them for post-AFL life.
Half way in, none other than our senior coach Sammy Mitchell made an appearance and came by every table to have a quick chat. Unfortunately I only was able to have a quick handshake and told him I love what he's done for the team. Was hoping to catch him again before he left, but sadly missed him.
Over the night I got to have quick chats with Nick Watson (told him I loved his energy on field), CJ (told him I missed him and glad he's back in the side, also to get his brother traded to us lol), Sam Frost (spoke a bit about the upcoming Brissie game and how great he's been, said he can probably leave Daniher on his own since Joe will probs kick it on the full anyway which he had a laugh about), Ethan Phillips (told him he had an awesome debut), James Blanck (told him he's going to have to fight Phillips now haha), DGB (said he sounds like he has a wrestler name, which he said he gets the same comments from the team lol), Sic (wouldn't confirm about his shoulder :( was hoping to get the inside scoop there haha reckon he got asked by everyone in the bar haha also told him to smash Charlie Cameron for us, he had a good laugh and said that'll likely be Hardwick's job haha), Cam McKenzie (told him he's been excellent), Bailey McKenzie (unfortunately only had a quick hello and hand shake), Impey (told him he's been great and I hope we get the win for him as captain), Gunner (god love him, said glad he's back at the hawks).
Finally, got to have a photo with Weddle and a whole bunch of signatures on a #23 guernsey.
All in all I had an absolute ripper night, had great interactions with majority of the team. Breust and Weddle were amazing, I wish I could've had more time with them since they were so down to earth and happy to chat. I highly recommend for anyone who thought about going, to get involved next time.
Anyone with any questions, I talked a lot that I can't fully capture in this post without writing a novel. So feel free to ask and I'll answer what I can :)
