So I may have two job offers coming in this week and I want to weigh the pros/cons with some fellow teachers to see what you think. For reference, I currently teach 6th grade (4th year teaching, always 6th or 7th grade), and I'm certified for 4-8 math. I also have 3 kids; 1 school age (elementary) and 2 Littles. I could stay where I'm at but I'm not happy with some of the things next year, like how we are addressing loss of funds, breaking my team up, our calendar, etc. I've also been getting up at 4:30 everyday to commute and my poor kids get up at 5:30 and we don't get home until almost 6 (I live about 45 mins from my campus and can't afford to live anywhere less than 25 mins away).
Option #1: Intermediate School Pros- 6th Grade, so familiar to me and I'm certified for it District offers low-cost daycare (I have 2 under school age) that would save me over $1200+/month School calendar includes Fall Break (rare for my area) Small classes and less overall students; teach 3 block periods per day with about 20 kids each Comparable school rating to where I currently work Same contract hours I have now Autonomy in the classroom
Cons- Would have to relocate to the area about 40 mins from our current house (lease is up in August anyway so not a major issue, but is farther from family) Would have to still drive about 25 min each way from where we could afford to move to Would move into a team of veteran teachers who have been together several years Lower salary than I currently make Lots of BTC concepts and stations in the classroom, which I'm unfamiliar with

So I am doing work experience with my school it is a British thing where the school sends you to do free work for a week to give students real life experience and two of my friends are working in a mechanics shop and where talking abt the things the poeple at the work do and call them (they said some horrible sexual things that I can’t say here ) they are 14 and me and my friends told them to tell there perants and to not come back there. I don't even know where to start. I'm a 19 year old girl, I live in a third world country and I'm kinda drowning currently.
I'm very autistic, I can talk and do some school stuff but I can't adapt to work environments at all and holding down a job has been impossible even though I've gone through training or a month or two of work in like a dozen places. It just never sticks. And this is a huge problem and relevant to my situation.
I'm currently in college too, on top of that, but because of the autism it's been impossible to keep up with the pace and truly learn and I've been failing exams and other college obligations. It's all going downhill.
I don't like going to college at all to begin with, but the crux of my issue is that I hail from a very abusive, very strict family and they demand I not only finish college but do it with good grades too. And I depend on them financially. Now I got into this college on a full scholarship because I managed to get through previous schooling with good grades (with extreme pressure and mental breakdowns and stress put on me by my family) so my family doesn't have to pay for school. Still, they pay for my housing and food.
They don't believe I'm struggling, they're those types of mental health deniers, and my worth to them is directly tied into my college performance. They've threatened to cut me off if I fail college before and often blackmail me by withholding enough money for me to live (there was one month where I had to go hungry a lot because I couldn't cover everything with rent and bills and public transport fees etc.).
The problem is that I'm depending on them, and my inability to work makes it impossible for me to become independent. I keep trying to find jobs that might be possible for me to do but they either don't want students or want people with a lot of work experience which I don't have. Or they just don't call me back.
I'm just so depressed and honestly just so scared. I don't want to become homeless and destitute, and I wish I could handle college because I know a college diploma is useful in life, but I just can't. Every time I think I finally did a little better in school or learned a bit more, my results come back bad anyways. It's so stressful because the only livelihood I have access to currently depends on my college success but I'm not succeeding despite trying my best.
I don't know what to do. I don't know what I can do either. It all feels hopeless. My family looms so large because they control money and therefore resources and I don't know how I can ever break free. I'm just so lost.
I need general life advice here, I think. Anyone who's been through something similar, how did you get out of it? What options exist out there? I'm sorry if this post sounds like I'm whining, I'm just desperately trying to find a solution because the state of things as it is right now isn't working out at all. Before we begin, I apologize in advance if this is long and rambly. Just trying to organize my thoughts and get some input from people who may have had similar experiences and/or are willing to read through my meandering bullshit.
I am a 25 year old EI with two years of experience who is currently unemployed. I started working with a mid-sized consulting company once I got my Bachelor's degree, brought on as an hourly employee in the geotechnical department while a full-time Master's student. I got my Master's in geoenvironmental engineering back in May, stuck around the company until December. Decided to take a break after leaving as one final hurrah in honor of being done with school, and am now starting the job hunt again.
There were a few different reasons I left my previous company, but one of the big ones is that I'm mainly interested in environmental work, and despite management saying they'd transfer me to a more environmentally-focused position, it never came to fruition. I wanted to try out geotechnical work because I really liked the geotech classes in uni, but I absolutely despised the work I was doing in geotech; field work was ok, but geotechnical reporting is absolutely soul-crushing. All that being said, the company I worked for also did environmental work, and I've had some low-level interaction with the department; realistically, it seems like it was just the same shit as geotechnical but with a different coat of paint. Somewhat interesting field work, followed by hours of templatized report writing and scraping the bottom of the barrel for billable hours.
Basically, I don't like geotech, and I'm worried that environmental engineering is going to be a lot of the same shit I didn't like about geotech, just under a different name and with different terms. I originally wanted to do remediation, but a lot of people I've talked to who did remediation absolutely fucking despised it. I've been looking at different jobs and subsets of engineering, and I really think something along the lines of coastal engineering would be something I'd love; the Army Corps of Civil Engineering specifically has some amazing sounding job openings, full of shit like stream and marsh restoration, jetty and coastal structure design, etc., but I really don't want to get my PE working in government, as that goes against everything I've ever been told in terms of career development. The big problem is, there are no private coastal opportunities in my city (somewhat expected, as I'm about four hours from the coast...), and I'm not planning on moving until I'm done paying my student loans.
One of the things that appeals to me with coastal engineering is that, I assume just from being a specialized market, the work looks a lot more in line with the shit I got into engineering for in the first place; design, modeling, that kind of thing. I don't want to be a project manager, I want to do technical and design work. Additionally, I want to work with water resources; this is one of the entire reasons I got into civil engineering. With that in mind, I've been looking into some local positions that I feel have some transferable skills, water resources type jobs, and it seems like nearly all of them are either stormwater or wastewater oriented, neither of which I'm particularly interested in. This is where I'm having some trouble trying to figure out what to do next.
I guess one of the big questions would be, would a job like this even exist? As in, a water resources oriented job that doesn't pertain to stormwater or wastewater? I've used a dozen different variations of searches on Indeed using keywords like modeling, water resources, water quality, etc., and it just gives me search results for wastewater work. Some examples of what I'd love to do are the things I did in my groundwater resources engineering and surface water quality modeling classes; in groundwater resources engineering, my final project included modeling the groundwater table for a local area based on well data. It was a little bit ago, so I'm a little fuzzy on the details, but another student used my model in his project and did something pertaining to contaminant transport in the groundwater. In surface water quality modeling, we did a lot of Simulink programming to model a large local watershed area. Is this kind of shit unique to academia, or can you score a job like this in consulting? If so, what are some companies I should be keeping an eye out on for job openings?

I'm a 25 year-old male. I'm a diligent student and am living away from my home country for now 9 years. Ive spent those 9 years trying to understand the way the society works here and have adapted rather well, to the point where people can't tell I'm a foreigner. I'm pretty active, although it's more so activity for the sake of activity. As such, I'm kinda fit.
• Is there a medical diagnosis that may impact your mental stability somehow?
Yes. GAD and PTSD.
• If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
I would have fomo if I were to see everyone else that I deem as friend doing something cool on socials. Then I would become resentful. However, I myself am perfectly okay being in my own company. I prefer it. That is not to say I don't like being with my frens. I would feel refreshed but there would come a point where I would feel as if I can't bear being so alone. Especially after long periods of time. However, I am accustomed to being alone and finding the joy in it. Like I said, I would resent the very sociable folks because I felt left out
• What kinds of activities do you prefer? Do you like, and are you good at sports? Do you enjoy any other outdoor or indoor activities?
I like activities that i can enjoy anywhere. Though i think this is because of how used to using a phone i am. Mobile gaming etc... is pretty neat. I like activities in which i can see a story unfold. Reading is one of them, iwas a huge reader as a kid. But i gravitate more so towards watching cool shows. However i much prefer shows and things that arent as popular because then people wont annoyingly yap about the surface level of the shows that we mutually have watched. Though I do like creative activities, like painting, I also like shopping and walking around. I like doing things that I feel are leading towards something grand. So, for instance, journaling and practicing a skill daily brings me some pleasure. I used to be a huge football fan until I realized how corrupt the sport was. I do like some sports though. I've always liked tossing and catching balls, playing with bouncy balls as a kid etc... I like skateboarding, though I haven't owned one in years.

Quite curious. I'm sometimes out of touch with reality just entertaining my mental musings. I will be sat and thinking about some random topic or thing iused to hear about and then research it. I'll try to make sense of the world and the "why" behind things. For example; why do I have nightmares when it's cold? Why are xyz so unreasonable? Why am I so attached to this toy? Why don't people do instead of y? I feel like social media has influenced this process tho. Giving us random things to consume, it leads us to clicking on videos and articles that spark new interests so easily and quickly, so I'm unsure. Though I tend to want to know why certain things are happening or WHAT is happening. Especially if theres like a crown gasping at something, for instance.
• Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
i have taken leadership positions in the past, and I did well. I much prefer to appeal to the good nature of my "teammates" and encourage them to do a good job.however, I prefer to select my team. I do not want laziness or incompetence in my crew. So I will scan my options and choose who I will team up with. If I have options that are limited to not-so-skilled individuals, I will play a leadership role and do most of the thinking. Tho I don't enjoy it.

i'm coordinated, yeah. I actually prefer situations where I can grasp the essence of a problem and use my hands. I prefer writing over reading, so I guess I like using my hands fo effect the mediums I work with. I used to want to be like a spy who is interacting with a bunch of gadgets and mobilizing himself towards a goal. My activity is usually at my own pace. I frequently try to finish tasks ahead of schedule because I want to spend more time lazing around and doing whatever I want. I tend to seek clarity in instructions I am given and sequentially take care of each piece of the task I am given. I recently started using to do lists because the workload became HUGE. I will, however, not compromise my comfort.

i am. I am skilled with pencil shading and line art and do pretty well with colours and aesthetics. I know what I like and try to make something that appeals to me and is objectively nice. I tend to also make pieces that resonate with myself, so things that I like. I even sought to learn to draw faces to draw myself and my friends ad fantasy characters. I'm good with visual arts but I'm also a pretty good actor. I've always excelled at making accents and role playing. I like thinking of people in terms of the archetypes they fill and even portray my friends in memes

The past, I have a love hate relationship with it. I made mistakes that I regret and have been through horrible things. But I do appreciate things from the past that bring me meaning. Certain flavors, sceneries, good memories. As for the present, I tend to be locked out of the present moment. I struggle to live in the moment and can seem rather weird. I think more about things than actually doing them. It feels like I play a character at any given moment for any given interaction tho. As for the future, I tend to find it weird. I want a better future and sometimes think, in a tight situation, "don't worry. Tomorrow this will be over." I love thinking that the future is open and that better days are ahead. i listen to music, journal, watch cartoons and movies, work out, walk, try to find ways to "fix" my life (my friends tell me this is what I do most), play games, try some good food, meditate (I tend to neglect this one), research interesting things, draw, accomplish a goal
• What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?
I hate classes with lots of aural input from a lecturer, If it triggers my misophonia.i prefer learning things practically. explanations will just have me needing to read more and try to focus on boring notes. Using my hands and brains is preferred. I score high in Kinesthetic for VARK tests. Oh, and visual. I prefer classes that involve logic, creativity and physical senses. I can memorize things but this is the most tedious learning style for me.
• How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
I can strategise when needed. I weigh the task up first. If the task at hand is hard, I will break it down and dedicate more energy to it. Else, I'll just do what feels right. I even ignore instructions sometimes.
• What do the "highs" in your life look like?
The flavour of the world feels warm, with a tinge of coldness. I would feel as if my suffering paid off and I am nowhere except where I am supposed to be. That there is no rush and no need to care of what others think about me. Where I can just do what I deem best amd find a balance between stability and adventure
• What do the "lows" in your life look like?
Nightmares, hypichondriasis, overthinking, rumination, anxiety, panic, jealousy, having no autonomy

I daydream quite a lot. But I will still feel what's around me enough to get somewhere where I can be in my head in peace. XD

I like empty rooms, especially if they used to be lively and full of people in past events. Goes to show that no matter what happens, some things remain. I would think of what life would be like if I were to live here forever. I would also be reminded of that meme where there's just a futon, a screen, a fridge and a katana: "all men need to be happy". If the room has no windows or doors, I'd be scared. Assuming it has windows and a door, I would look outside, eventually. How big is the room? If it's a HUUUUGE empty hall, that's so cool. I'd walk around and imagine myself in some great elvish building and maybe even lie down to see the roof. I even dreamt of such a building before, hexagon shaped cross section.

I take a bloody long time to decide on anything important. For instance, i took 4 hours to decide what race my DnD character would be. Once I've made my decision, I will not regret it unless it goes wrong

She was apparently something worse than we presumed originally, and I'm very inclined to believe so after yesterday."

The suspicious, partially scrambled transmission immediately cut off to static, leaving Wade, Tina, and their friends with confused expressions as Tessa spoke up. "Yeah, that caught me by surprise too."

"Speaking of cooperation, upon seeing what was happening at Earth, I ordered a detachment of our corporate starships in orbit at the time to depart for Sol in order to help with investigating the situation. They're not warships, but they are well-armed. I'll dispatch them to your authority upon concluding this call." Glancing to Wade and his team for a moment, Jenson continued. "As for the mission, I may not have much of a say, but let it be known that you have my blessing to do whatever it takes to end this madness. I don't care what you do with Halloway or any of his lackeys, or what happens to that facility down there... I want that program shut down."

Nathan and F stood up before the latter gave her own request. "Sir, I wish to take part in this mission as well. I can also recommend Wade for you too, as I fought alongside him during the factory raid."
"Wouldn't mind giving a hand myself! And I'm sure my pal Kurtis would love to help, he's here at the base too!" Nathan added with a confident smirk, the group's determination encouraging Jasmine to stand up as well.
"I'd like to help too." She stated simply, a smile on her face as the general and his companions observed the five guests.
Admittedly, Hood knew it would be a bit absurd to allow these people to take part in an operation which would certainly involve bloodshed, especially considering most of them merely had civilian status at the moment. But, upon careful evaluation of the five, their desire to see this problem dealt with, and the fact that some of them had experience on the field...
He paused his train of thought as Captain Mitchell spoke to him. "General? I read up on the Fowleys' files when we recovered Mrs. Jasmine here, they provided service in their early careers." He smirked to the pilot sisters as he finished adding his say. "And to be frank, we need more people like them here. The records we have of them showed them to be damn fine pilots."
Tina blushed at the praise from Mitchell as she spoke to the general. "That is true, we uh... did get discharged for our... 'fancy maneuvering'."
"Sir?" Jasmine said, the general's attention on her as she added to the conversation. "Even if our flying is a bit out of protocol, Tina saved a lot of people on that starjet a few days back. I can promise you, she's an excellent woman to have at the wheel."
Glancing to Wade again, Hood took in his face, one of begging desperation as he spoke once more. "Please, Sir. My brother, the troops he brought from the Coalition, Halloway's gotten them all killed cause of this. I want to do this. I HAVE to do this, at least for them."
The good general took a deep, quiet breath, considering his decision once more before finally revealing it to Wade and his friends. "Mr. Carter, Fowleys? I'm probably making myself a fool for saying this, but you're permitted to assist us in this mission."
The drone couple contained their gratefulness in the form of ecstatic grins as Wade replied to the general. "Thanks, General. We won't let you down."
"And Mrs. Lee?" Hood said as he glanced to F, who returned the gesture as he told her, "You're technically under Mr. Jenson's authority, whatever his answer is, it's mine as well."
Bringing her yellow-orange eyes to her CEO, F awaited Mr. Jenson's answer. "F, yes? I heard Mr. Hood call you by a different name just now, I assume you have some experience with the army?"
The warrior drone nodded as she explained herself. "I once inherited the name of Felicity Lee, Mr. Jenson. I served under the USN Defense Forces before joining the DD Division." Then, glancing to the military staff near her, she finished with, "I had hoped to provide my enhancements to the Force one day."
Jenson gave a hint of a proud smile as he finally gave his decision. "Well, it seems you'll finally get that chance. From now on, even after this mission on Earth is over with, you're hereby dispatched to serve under the USN."
F admittedly couldn't hide her excited smirk as she flung a salute to her now former boss. "Thank you Sir!"
Looking up to Jenson, General Hood asked the CEO, "Mr. Jenson, how long until your ships can reach Earth?"
Jenson glanced down at his communication console as he answered the military leader. "At max speed, their Ion drives should be able to bring them into orbit in as little as one to two days. I believe there should be some ships within the system that could help as well."
"Signal them when you can, Mr. Jenson. We could use all the help we can get from them." The CEO nodded to Hood as he stood firmly to the viewer, the general turning to face Wade and his colleagues. "And Mr. Carter? We'll be mobilizing our forces immediately after this meeting concludes. It'll be a minute, but I want you to gather whatever items and belongings you'll need for this operation. Be ready to head to the flight pads in no more than three hours."
"Understood Sir!" Wade said with a salute, Tina, Jasmine and Nathan giving their own as Jasmine raised a finger.
"What about the area around the lab? That place looks like it's in the middle of the city."
J raised a finger as she told Jasmine and the others about their resolution of the civilian obstacle. "Shortly after reporting our findings on the transmission, Hood told us that they were sending in some teams to clear out the civilian population within several miles of the facility. Once we get there, it should be of no concern."
Jasmine sighed in relief as Tina spoke up. "So the people should be safe from any sort of danger?"
"Correct, Mrs. Tina." Preston answered before continuing. "Given the resistance Halloway and his men showed during the Coalition's raid, they most certainly won't hold back there."
"One more thing, Sir." Nathan asked. "The Coalition's going to help us out with this too, right?"
"You can count on it, Mr. Nathan." The Vickers' captain replied as he looked to J, then to Jenson as he spoke further. "I met the leader of the Coalition's detachment working with us when I was introduced to J and Mrs. Elliott here, they intend to see this conflict finished. I highly doubt they're willing to sit back and let us do this by ourselves."
"And their help will be much appreciated." Hood added, everyone's attention returned to him as he looked to Tessa, curious eyes scanning her holographic form. "And Mrs. Elliott, if I may. Do you mind heading down here to assist us in our investigations later on?"
"Funny you say that, General. I'm almost done with my own snooping around on the JCJ up in orbit, Cyn has some small departments of hers aboard, and I thought I'd gather some more intel before coming down." Glancing to Mr. Jenson, she saw him giving an understanding nod before returning her gaze to the military staff. "I should be down there by the evening, judging by where you're located."
"Do what you must, Mrs. Elliott. We could use whatever you find." Hood replied firmly as he turned once more to the JCJenson CEO. "Thank you for your time, Mr. Jenson. We will get to the bottom of this."
"It's my pleasure, General." Glancing to J and Tessa, he spoke to them once more. "J? Contact me when you've finished with Halloway and his Administrator."
"It'll be done, Mr. Jenson." The obedient servant answered before saluting firmly, receiving a final nod from her boss before he ended the transmission.
With their off-world guest out of the way, Hood looked to Wade and his friends, J, Tessa and Captain Mitchells sharing the gaze with them as the general spoke to them in finality. "Well, you know what comes next everyone. You're all dismissed for now. And remember, landing zone by 1300."
"We'll be there Sir." Wade said with a nod as he and his friends stood up, pushing in their chairs before making their way out to the door.
As they neared it, Wade stopped for a moment as they heard Hood call to one of his friends. "And F?" The soldier drone looked to the general as he continued. "Before we depart, would you mind changing your uniform? I believe it could help with identifying you from the other disassembly drones more easily." Glancing to J, then back to F, he finished with, "I recall hearing about the most formidable drones having clones prepared, yes?"
"Correct, Sir. I'll stop by the nearest barracks while I can." F replied before turning back to the door with her colleagues, Wade opening the door for them all as they passed through. After them, Wade passed through himself, shutting the door to the meeting room as he returned to the lobby.
Walking about together, F spoke to Wade and the others. "Well, that went smoothly. I'll be heading down to the barracks, then head over to your place to help out."
"Actually," Wade replied, raising a finger up as he asked his fellow murder drone, "You think you could bring your friends over? We could get to know each other while we're getting ready."
F glanced to Nathan with a smile before returning her eyes to Wade. "I could see about that. You're gonna like them, I can promise you that."
Taking Tina's hand, Wade walked with his girlfriend alongside Jasmine and the others, nearing the hallway they came through as they prepared for the walk back to the apartment.

CHAPTER ONE
Tim was a very sad 8 year old child growing up.His friend,Jay with him.He had a poor school environment and a traumatic domestic surroundings-his parents' presence were never there for him.He had brothers who molested him most nights in the other room,and physically abused him for the merest mistakes.His school had students who bullied him.
The issue was that Tim looked more feminine that other boys,hence the bullying and abuse struggles.
At the age of fourteen,Tim escaped from his abusers,and stayed with his friend,Jay.Later on,he worked a job at an expensive dinner as a waiter,earning 50,000 a week and living in a simple apartment. But after the department of living the living hell ,he grappled with anxiety and ever lasting depression. The medication didn't seem to help his depression or PTSD.
At eighteen,he studied at the university of architeture in Cambodia with Jay. He looked like a happy life from the outside,but people don't know how tortured and black his soul is. It is the like the hidden sight of him.
Until,the trauma reactivated back to his life.
CHAPTER TWO
Tim was chilling in the living room,watching his stand-comedy show. "Hey,Tim! You are looking fresh",Jay complemented. "Yeah-first time",Tim smiled lowering his sleepy eyes. "I know that you are troubled deeply inside-I can feel it",Jay looked down poignantly. "I wish".Tim got turned to the TV screen,swigging on the juice.
Jay got wore an excited face expression and put his hands on Tim's shoulders. "I'm throwing a party-just you,Samantha and I-it's gonna be fun",Jay said smirking. "It's been a while since I haven't thrown a party-let's freaking do this!".Tim raised both of his arms straight and and positioned his middle and ring fingers down while holding the rest of the fingers sticked out,making the rock hand gesture.Blinded in excitement,that he did gave a thought about his health conditions and in which ways the drinks was gonna help him.
Setting up the dinning table and ordering pizza while talking about their plans and seeing the future of the party.After that,Sam was knocking on their door.Jay opened the door and kissed Sam on the lips(they are in a relationship). "Hey,babe.Hi,Tim",Sam greeted both of them with a smile.
The young adults started off by watching some randy movies with bottles of alcohol to keep them energized for the fun.Then,they turned on some music and danced to their hearts.
Heavily drinking,the memories flashed in his eyes like light beaming disturbingly in his eyes. Shaking it off,he continued drinking.That's when he started feeling dizzy and extremely angry in such a way that he yelled.The couple snapped from their romance. Throwing and cutting himself,Tim pulled his hair in distress. "TIMMMM!".
He yelled and ran over to stop Tim.He pushed him and knocked the door,rolling to the ground. "Hey!".A farmiliar voiced sneered.When Tim saw the guy,his heart sank as his eyes widened in shock. It was Arson.

Well, everything started in 2012 when I was in elementary school, and a new math teacher was transferred to my school. At first, no one knew anything about her; we only knew she had been transferred from her old school after being on leave for some time. From her first class, she exhibited strange behavior, and none of the students really understood what she was doing (we had just started elementary school and were 10 and 11-year-old kids). The first red flags were when she divided the classroom in half: one half was for white students and the other for black students. Even though I was white, I felt very bad because the students on the other side of the room began to be treated differently. It started with her ignoring those students' questions. They really tried to ask for help, but she just ignored them. After some time, during tests and homework submissions, the humiliation began. She started to insult all the black students whenever they couldn't complete a task or scored poorly on tests. The insults were always very "masked"; she would always say, "You will never be anything in life," or "When you grow up, you'll be garbage collectors or drug dealers." Most of us didn't really understand what was happening because we were just kids who had just left fifth grade. But everything got worse when the teacher found her favorite student, Francis. Francis was the only white and blonde boy in the class. Since the teacher created this bizarre fixation on Francis, the lives of all the other students became hell. At this point, she started to humiliate all the students except Francis. The first thing she did to me was when I handed in my homework, and she accused me, without any proof, of copying from Francis (I was the best-performing math student in my class, and that year I was even selected to compete in a regional school competition called the Math Olympics). I tried to argue that I hadn't copied, but she simply tore up my homework and said, "You are very arrogant and will be a failure." When she said that to me, I was furious and had no reaction. In the following days, my life turned into real hell. A few weeks before school started, I had been hospitalized for a severe urinary infection, and the doctors told me not to hold my urine for long periods because it could increase the occurrence of urinary infections. I went to the bathroom twice per class because I couldn't hold it anymore. But from the day she humiliated me, she forbade me from going to the bathroom, even after I informed her about my condition. When I told her that, she shouted to the class, "This mommy's boy can't handle anything." When she said that, I had a fit of rage, threw all my materials at the board, and screamed with all my might, "I hate you," then ran out of the classroom straight to the bathroom. That same day, my mother was called to the school, and when I told the principal the whole story of what had been happening, I only received a warning. The principal asked me to leave the room to talk privately with my mother. When I left the room, the principal begged my mother not to file a complaint against the teacher and told her the real reason she had been transferred. He told my mother that Mrs. Rosa had lost her 12-year-old daughter in an accident. Since that happened, she had been on psychological leave for six months and requested a transfer to another school, which is why she behaved that way (which, to me, does not justify any of her behavior). After this incident, the school year was a true nightmare; it was truly my worst year in math. Fast forward 10 years to 2022, when I was already in college, I met my English teacher again. Since school, I had always been her favorite student, and she lived in the same neighborhood as me. After finishing high school, I became good friends with my English teacher, and we often met for coffee. I would tell her about the news from college, and she would tell me about her students. During one of these meetings, she told me that Mrs. Rosa had passed away in 2020 due to an overdose. She told me that since 2013, Mrs. Rosa had struggled with substance abuse, and in 2020, she was found dead in her home. Even after everything that happened, my feelings are very confused about this whole story. Sometimes I feel a bit of empathy, and sometimes I feel she got what she deserved in the end.

I don't know how else to describe it anymore, I could use words like dejected, melancholic, depressed, gloomy, desolated etc etc but I'm tired of all this. I've realized this plain and simple word is now sufficient to describe pathetic misery. I have been sad for a very long time now, a few years I think. It's not like I haven't had any happy moments in these sad years. But after that momentary happiness It's back to just me and my pathetic depressed ass again and it's always like this.
Whenever I used to find myself being happy and enjoying myself my brain used to tell me it's going to be over soon and you'll be the same looser crying under your blanket in a few minutes/hours. Believe me when I say I've tried to separate myself from my sadness i've tried to tell myself that my sadness is not me and it cannot control me, i've had 'recovery' periods but they all end on their own and i end up feeling more pathetic than ever. Now I don't feel happy when I'm supposed to anymore, I think this is defence mechanism my brain has created to protect me. I've always been sad, but this is a new sad/numb.I don't feel like doing anything because I know I'll never be enough no matter how hard i try so why even bother, I don't enjoy doing things i once loved because at the end what's the use? All I think about is sucide these days, and it's not in a depressed anxious way, it's in a numb and hopeless way, my only relief will be sucide and noting else.
I'm still in school, living with my parents but for some reason I feel like I am a burden for them and they are forced to take care of me. They're working so hard to earn money and I'm just a useless looser who is wasting it. And they are very good people, then love me and and don't make me feel like I am a burden to them. And this exact thing makes me extra guilty about being a useless looser. They are working hard to take care of my but I'm a depressed looser who wastes their money. For some reason I feel like a high school dropout living in my parents house for free. And I fucking hate myself for that. I should be studying/working to build my future but here I am sulking and wasting my time. My parents already have a perfect first born who is doing great in her career. They don't need me, they never needed me, I'm just a burden and they would be so much better off without me. I don't even care if noone reads my long ass rant I was in dire need to vent. If someone actually took the pains to read it all and reached here, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart dear stranger, even though this rant wasn't worth your time at all. Thank you

I will be a Junior in BSN program and i’m wondering what the TEAS test is. I say this bc i see a lot of ppl struggling with it but never had to take it. I went to a high school where I was blessed to graduate with two associates degrees for free. got into a direct entry nursing program as a “freshman” but i was in the sophomore nursing classes as i did all my prereqs besides micro and basic physiological chemistry which are done now (yayyy). we started with 24 students and now there is 10 or 11. it’s summer so im going to be a junior this upcoming semester. is there programs near y’all that are direct entry or don’t have a TEAS requirement? the school i got my Associate degrees from had the TEAS for their nursing associates but my current University does not. what id say is go to the cheapest community college in your area even if its a “only associates” type of school (if possible), go in as healthcare major and take the prereqs then transfer to a college that doesnt require that if possible if you’re struggling.. idk

Is there any free test like AYJRA(All India JEE Ready(Advance)) for students who want to give JEE MAINS in future?

I’m a 4.0 student who decided to reject all the college admissions I got offered and decided to go to a local community college. I’m not sure why now I’m feeling tons of regret , I kept getting offered for programs within the ucs I got accepted to that help me gain connections and research opportunities in the schools. However what deterred me from going to my UC of choice was not only stress financially as I would have to pay 4K a year for my preferred college and 9k -12k for the rest of the UCS. I just felt like I would be overwhelmed with all that and I truly didn’t know what career I wanted to take but now I feel so scared that I made the wrong choice and keep thinking that all my work in high school was for nothing as my grades and extra curriculars now mean nothing has anyone else felt that way ? I also wanted to add I felt so much anxiety regarding going to college and ended up canceling my intent to register and panicking and making the school reinstate it but then kept panicking and sending emails to the school after I canceled it again to ask to reinstate it and then got worried so emailed admissions to not reinstate it after all so I rejected it twice …
