it's very hard for me to find people i click with. doesn't matter if you're super handsome or have the best physique, i really find myself attracted to people that have qualities that stick out to me.
maybe it's my options where i'm currently located, but nobody is hitting the spot. I started talking to a DJ in another country (i actually found his music thru spotify discover weekly, found his instagram and became mutuals) and bonding over music and similar interests, and i already feel myself catching feelings. i have no idea how this dude even looks (which maybe adds to the mysterious attraction) anyway. am i stupid for even trying to carry in a conversation? i feel like i really relate to the movie Her Imfao, just longing for connection and companionship. Like i'll take a digital connection even if it means just feeling something for a little.

Introduction
It's been a long since I've tried a KZ IEM; if I recall well, it was their latest rendition of the full-range planar IEM, the KZ PR3, which I really liked. When it comes to KZ, it has a particular place in my heart because their IEMs were the first ones I explored and stepped on in the audiophile world; I had no idea at the time that sound could be this fantastic, and I desired to have the best sounding IEM. Now that I know there is nothing like that, it is too late for me, but for most people, including myself, Kz serves as a bridge between the average consumers and audiophiles. Not that I say they're the best, but they did their job as a specialised electro-acoustics manufacturer and one of the oldest, offering their products at a price that anyone can enjoy excellent sound. I believe KZ deserves some space and love regardless of what they've done in the past, though I do wish they would stop claiming things that give an ignorant vibe. Returning to their offerings, one of their most popular IEMs, hailed by many when it was first introduced, was the ZS10 Pro, which I also possessed for a full two years until they died. They just introduced a new version, the ZS10 PRO 2, after the ZS10 PRO X. Fortunately, I was able to obtain a pair of ZS10 PRO 2 for review, but before we go any further, I'd want to clarify a few things.

*Finally, I will only evaluate the ZS10 Pro II based on its performance, even though I will explain how it feels and seems physically and aesthetically.
*For source I relied on the Sony WM1A and Apple Dongle for my review.
Specification
The ZS10 PRO II features a multi-hybrid driver configuration made up of two dual 31736 balanced armatures and a single dynamic driver. All of their five drivers are custom-made by KZ and are coupled via a 4-switch tuning board, allowing for four alternative tuning options. The shells are constructed of high-grade plastic, which KZ currently uses for all of its IEMs, and the faceplate is metal with an open-back design. To be honest, the IEM looks cooler than its predecessors, albeit the addition of tuning switches makes me a bit concerned about the design. The comfort is excellent since the IEM adheres to their classic yet extremely ergonomic design, and neither the fit nor the comfort of any Eartips I tried were compromised. The cable included with the IEM is the standard two-wire silver cord that KZ provides with their more priced IEMs. The cable features QDC connections on one end and an L-shaped 3.5mm termination plug on the other. Aside from the wire, the accessories include three pairs of eartips in varying sizes, a pair of foam tips and a tuning pin. According to the technical parameters, the impedance ranges from 25 to 28 Ohms, and the sensitivity is 108 dB. The frequency response ranges from 20Hz to 40kHz.

Sound
While reviewing the ZS10 Pro II, I noticed that the factory set tuning, with all switches toggled upwards, made it sound more like a bright V-shape tuning with a highly focused upper mid-range and entire treble and equally emphasised bass, but when it comes to the mid-region, this time around they brought a more energetic response in the upper mid-range to not drown the vocals. When it comes to competing with its rivals like Forteza, Sonus, Jojo, etc, I believe it is well-positioned to appeal to consumers who want the typical KZ sound but with an upgraded and cleaner sound, which is far too clean in my opinion. Let's go further into the sound to learn more about it.

Treble
In terms of sound, the treble is the most exciting part of the mix. The response has multiple peaks, resulting in a highly upfront and sharp sound that appears detailed and clear while simultaneously adding sibilance and tinniness to the mix. The upper treble offers excellent extension and air, with vocals and instruments sounding front and lean yet with a clear response. The lower treble has a vibrant response, but with peaks at 5k and 11k, the response becomes much leaner, disclosing the notes, but the sibilance makes them seem incomplete. Tracks like Kent Ito's My Factor sound thrilling and lively, with a strong hold on his voice, but when the busy segment appears during the chorus, the reaction becomes sibilant, which is understandable given the track's lively and sparkling sound. Tracks like Kokoronashi by Majiko sound delightfully revealing, especially the vocals; because the notes in the track have a deep response, listening through the ZS10 Pro II balances the sound. As a result, the overall presentation of the treble region is vibrant, lean, and revealing, despite the frequent introduction of sibilance.
Mid Range
The mid-range response sounds as vibrant as the treble, but with greater note weight, allowing for a more bodied response. The upper midrange resonates with the same energy as the lower treble, but with a softer presentation and less lean notes. The voices and instruments sound forward and clear, with an excellent understanding of note presentation, such as details and timbre, albeit metallic timbre appears frequently. The lower mid-range produces a subdued response, making the notes of the vocals and instruments seem imprecise but clean, but I want the sounds to sound more rich and full. The note weight and density are quite low. Tracks like Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know demonstrate this extremely well; the male vocals maintain a natural sounding response while the instrumentation do not allow for a lean response, but the female vocals become light and a bit hot in terms of high notes. Tracks like Elton John's I'm Still Standing have a highly energetic and lively response; because to the forward upper mid-range, the response provides a very crisp and resolved sound with improved note location without sounding lean or harsh. As a result, the overall presentation of the midrange is energetic, upfront, and clean sounding, despite the fact that high notes might become a touch hot at times.
Bass
The bass response has a strong presence, but the noticeable intensity of the higher frequencies keeps it in check and under control. The bass has a presentation that changes with the tuning alterations, but more on this later. The bass response is well-controlled, so the bass notes sound clear and detailed, with enough bottom presence. The focus is on the sub-bass, which reaches deep enough to provide a slight rumbling impression; on the other hand, punches hit forcefully and resolve swiftly, resulting in a clear-sounding response. The mid-bass has a solid presence as well, but the heaviness and weight are lacking since the slams and thumps sound far too clean and rapid, particularly the bass guitar notes, which sound lifeless, but the kick drums have adequate content. Tracks like Kaori Maeda's Unconventional Humans sound incredibly clean, especially when the bass guitar strikes; the notes seem as if they are produced by a synth, but the kick drums have significant heaviness that is well accommodated and does not produce a lifeless sound. Tracks like Hello by RXPHY feature massive bass drops that the ZS10 Pro II produces sufficiently, particularly the sub-bass notes after the bass drops, which sound incredibly articulated and clear, giving the response a spacious and clean sound. Overall, the bass response is well-controlled, powerful, and clean-sounding.
Technical Performance
In terms of technical performance, the ZS10 Pro II compares favourably to competitors such as the 7Hz Sonus, Kiwi Ears Forteza, and Blon X Z reviews JoJo. Although I prefer the staging and details on this pair, the other aspects result in an underperforming response. Let's be more specific.

Soundstage, Sound Imaging & Separation
The soundstage is more stereo-positioned since the response sounds more effectively in the left and right directions than in the front or rear. The stage's width and depth are sufficient to produce a vast sound. The imaging is clean, although it could have been crisper and clearer. The separation also lacks distinction between the notes, making it difficult to determine which direction the sound is coming from.
Speed & Resolution
In terms of resolution, the representation is enough for the macro details that the ZS10 Pro II provides, however, I do notice that the micro details suffer a bit in surfacing in the mix. The assault and decay of the notes are swift, which is remarkable for a KZ IEM that is not planar, therefore it does not introduce imperfections into the mix.
Tuning Switches
There are four tuning switches that vary the tune differently each time it is toggled or played with; nevertheless, in my view, it functions more like a bass level switch, as the more switches you toggle upwards, the more bass appears in the mix. During my tests, I discovered that the more I switched down, the more the higher frequencies stood out in the mix. In terms of personal taste or preferences, I prefer a neutral with a sub-bass boost, which I was able to achieve with a combination of UUDD and UDDD, but surprisingly, I preferred the UUUU combination because it made it sound more tonally pleasing rather than lean or shouty in my opinion. As a result, tuning switches are completely pointless to me unless I want a dark-sounding track to sound clear and revealing.

The ultimate explanation to all of them is god. Karthikeya is the only good film I’ve seen that is actually neutral and questioning religion. But karthikeya 2 was dog shit. It was just a preachy, propaganda film. It says that krishna has the solution to global warming?? And says that gods invented stuff before humans did?? And it shows “evidence” like it actually is real and forces people to believe in it.
I mean, this pattern is not evident in hollywood cinemas or cinemas of other countries, could you imagine if the cure to zombie apocalypse in train to busan was jesus christ? These kinda movies would not become the kind of hits they do here.
And most films with athestic/agnostic characters are portrayed as “evil” and at the end, they end up believing in god. Eg: gopala gopala, badrinath.
And there’s a TON of movies that are so misogynistic and regressive and people not only do not bat an eye, they instead bash people that talk about it. But instead of caring about actual social issues, they care about songs that inclue god’s name like in that song from dj.
The movies wont change until the audience here changes their thought.

Sat Bisla is the founder of MUSEXPO (we know the band played a show during it) and Anr Worldwide which just happens to be some kind of management/label/promotions John Snow was involved with.

He had a personal connection to the band to promote them so he played them during his show on the station. PersonOfDistraction is contacting his leads at the station for confirmation/interest in seeing what they say but I think this probably puts to rest the biggest question we had of how a relatively unknown Norwegian band ended up on a Philly station.

I have recently discovered the song "Hold up" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTpqwNtn788), which seems to be also known as "Mimi", by "Neo, Jeiff." I like this song a lot and I would like to know more about it, but I could not find much information online.
I have identified the artist called Neo (https://www.instagram.com/neo\_ko?hl=en), though I could find much information about him. According to his Instagram profile, he is a DJ and he works with/at a company called Initial Music.
I wonder who Jeiff is as I could not find anything about them (if it is a person indeed) online. Also, Neo's IG profile mentions "Hold up (Original mix)", which I do not know how to interpret (did the song exist in an original non-mixed version?) Has Neo produced anything else apart from Hold up? Also, what is Initial Music? Is it the DJ subsidiary of a big 4 of kpop?
Furthermore, I see some sorts of videos about a dance challenge whereby people dance on the Hold up song. They seem to all dance in a similar way but I could not find any official video of the song. How come the people all dance in a similar way if there is no common standard?
Finally, do you think this song is genuine Kpop or is it more of Korean EDM or other electronic style?

Hello, I'm 18 yr and while I was learning complex numbers I had this idea of making the same thing for division by 0. Probably someone already had this idea, or it doesn’t work and I didn’t figure it out, but I want to know what you think of this and if you can find any utility. Sorry if my English is not the best because it's not my first language.
So, consider an imaginary number, like i, that I will be calling j.
The definition of j is
0*j=1
So:
j=1/0
And I don't know if I can do that according to math rules, but from now on I will consider both of them true.
That means:

I always struggled throughout my life finding hobbies that keep me hooked long enough where it sustains my attention and keeps me entertained.
I found that DJing, especially house music has been the best thing I ever found myself enjoying
I feel like I have to use enough senses and parts of my brain where I feel fulfilled and lost in the rhythm.
A part of my brain pays attention to the current song playing, another is queuing up the next song, listening to beat match, and my hands are always ready to be adjusting the EQs and color effects to transition. It feels like it’s enough chaos where I thrive in it.
On top of it.. I GET TO DANCE and jitter in place to the music I love.
I’ve been only a couple months into my DJ journey and I never been classically trained musician so discovering this has been incredible. It just all tickles my brain in the best ways. I’m picking it up so quick and naturally!
I don’t know if anyone else resonates I realized I needed something thats easy to learn but difficult to master so it continues to scale with my skills.
As someone who comes from a very hard technical background, I never anticipated my passions would be found in music so I encourage everyone to always try something new and unexpected.

2024.05.17 15:04 TerrifyingT First Nations Friday, classic edition!

So, I'm sitting there last night, working on the tik toks and stuff, as is the style these days. Spotify doing it's thing in the back, playing music I haven't heard. Not really loud, just kinda, there.
Suddenly, I'm fucking crying, there's literally tears coming down my face and I am sad and very angry. I turn to the music display, and the song is "To all MMIW" by Northern Cree.
I want to be very clear at this juncture, I do not speak Cree, like, not well anyway. I have a basic understanding, from growing up in Manitoba and trying to learn in my old age. I might be able to follow the major beats of a conversation around me, if people are talking slowly lol. But I'm not anything close to fluent yet. In a song, I'm still pretty lost.
Yet, here I am, not understanding a word, but feeling the feeling, the passion and pain, the sadness and anger. So sharply it punched my concentration out the window.
I worried, the game I generally play on the show is quite violent. But, I'm playing the music of a smaller group of people, fighting for their lives, their culture, their families, heck their very language, against a much larger force that seems determined to hurt them. Maybe it's not such a bad pairing after all...
So I'm playing a full 3 hour set of Northern Cree today! I discovered that despite having Grammys, 50 years and 40 records. Moby has always been a mainstay in house music and electronica in general. And on May 17th, 1999, he released his fifth studio album Play to critical and commercial success, becoming a rare phenomenon in the dance world.

…..but not in the way you would expect. You see, not even Moby thought he would make an impact, and originally intended to retire after that. So what makes his success story so unique? And how did this album become the best selling electronica album of all time? Let’s take a deep dive!


A quick recap into his early career


Throughout the 80s, Moby was involved in multiple underground punk rock bands. At the tail end of the decade, he shifted his interests towards the then-burgeoning electronic music scene, moving to New York City and taking up producing, remixing and DJ-ing as a result. By 1991, his single “Go” became an instant success and propelled him into stardom. For the next few years, he scored multiple dance hits (including a remix of the James Bond theme).

It was in 1996 when he released his album Animal Rights where everything went wrong. His sudden shift to punk and metal inspired music alienated much of his fan base and proved to be a critical and commercial failure, leaving him in a bit of a disarray. By this point, much of his audience began to cast doubts as to who Moby was as an artist, and while he asserted that the stylistic change was only temporary, it didn’t stop them from leaving his side. His own touring was disastrous, and him opening for alt-rock band Soundgarden was met with boos and jeers, prompting him on leaving music altogether. But thanks to artists like Bono, Axl Rose and Terence Trent D'Arby giving positive reactions to his Animal Rights album, he decided to stay a little while longer.

Background


Play's musical direction began around the time Moby's friend, Gregor Ehrlich loaned him a 1993 box set titled "Sounds of the South: A Musical Journey from the Georgia Sea Islands to the Mississippi Delta." by Alan Lomax. In it, a wide collection of folk music recorded throughout the 20th century.
Moby began to work on Play in August 1997, but touring obligations as well as unsatisfactory mixing sessions caused multiple delays. According to Moby's manager, Eric Härle had stated their original goal was to sell 250,000 copies, which was what Everything Is Wrong (1995), Moby's biggest-selling album at the time, had sold. Moby had doubts in achieving that, and many of the labels seemed to agree. Moby lost his outlet to released Play in the US following his removal from Elektra's roster of artists, leaving UK-based Mute Records as his sole label. Looking for US records to distribute was a struggle, with major label records like Warner Bros., Sony and RCA rejecting him. Even after V2 picked up the offer, most of the journalists passed on listening to the album. By March of 1999, two months before release, Moby began contemplating on his future and felt that maybe it's best to just throw in the towel and retire.

Play debuted at number 33 on the UK Albums Chart, but fell off shortly after. In addition, the radio and network airplay the songs received was very minimal. At this point, the goal was to simply get people to listen to the music; for that to happen, Moby and his management had to get really creative. While brainstorming, the team noticed a few agencies flocking to them for permission to use the music as soundbeds. That marked the moment a huge lightbulb went off on everybody's head; there's great potential in using licensing.
Licenses weren’t exactly lucrative but it was an alternate way of exposing listeners to the music rather than just radio. Management team was very diligent in looking for licenses, nevertheless, they took painstaking care of which requests were more appropriate for certain songs. Eventually they succeeded in getting every track on the album licensed, with "7" being the last track to do so.


Singles

Play's rollout consisted of eight singles. I've listed the samples used as well as where the songs are heard. While I listed as many licenses as I could, I tried to keep it within a 5 year timeframe. Forgive me as I know I missed a few but it's tough to find older, obscure commercials.

Honey
After discovering an a cappella song from Lomax's box set, Moby wrote this song in about 10 minutes. The song had minimal radio airplay but still managed to chart in several places including the UK Singles Chart (#33) and Billboard's Dance/Electronic Singles Sales (#95). A remix was later released featuring American R&B artist, Kelis.

One morning Dan discovers the house has an Attic. He goes up there and realizes Andy and Jerry have been there this entire time waiting for him to help clean the Attic. (Roseanne asked them to years ago and they just forgot.
DJ and his family come back for some reason and on the way they make friends with some homeless looking dude who can't really talk. Anyway normal hi-jinks happens until A tornado comes and destories everything. Dan's house, Darlenes, if a character has a house and is in anyway related to the Conners (besides DJ) their home is gone.
few days later where everyone is at a hotel or shelter and this is the worst it has ever looked. everyone is trying to cheer everyone up but it's just making everyone mad and it's all falling apart big time. When it all seems like it's all going to just be destroyed, who other then David to show up. David tells them the "Homeless Man" is his boss and went in for some extreme dental work and was so f**Ked up with swelling and the drugs he wandered off and they lost him with all the tornado drama.
The man is able to speak a little bit and tells the Conner's that right outside of Landford He has built a large apartment building and it was one of the few things that wasn't damaged in the storm. and to thank the Conner's for helping him even when all of this was going on He offered them all apartments to live in.
Fast forward about a year and everyone is settled down in their apartments. Dan is head of maintenance for the building, The Lunchbox is now a restaurant on the grounds of the Apartments where Jackie, Harris (when not at school) and Becky work. But besides that everyone is living together in the same building, but still have their own spaces, All have roofs over their heads and for everything that happened it's a pretty happy ending.

so there. Im pretty sure I would be kicked out of the writers room but anyway.

Hello, I'm trying to see if anyone has discovered a reliable method for connecting their record box/controller to FL Studio ZGame Editor for live lighting.
I own a DDJ-800 and was able to achieve well-synchronized lighting for my live set using Sound Switch and Virtual DJ. However, I would prefer to program my lights in FL Studio since I have already own it and find it more user-friendly than Sound Switch.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, but my primary objective is to have FL Studio's pre-programmed lights play in sync with my record box. Alternatively, I'm open to other solutions that work with my USB to DMX cable and record box/Virtual DJ setup.

I love using Tidal to virtually DJ, and am always trying to learn to be a better DJ. To that end, I would benefit by being able to listen to my sets afterwards, to discover what I did well, what I did poorly, what do stop doing, and what to do more often. With the DJ Extension from Tidal, will I be able to do that? Can I record my sets and study them later?

also The Rasmus - probably anyone living in europe in early 00s heard 'In The Shadows'! I was a fan as a kid (i was like 13 back then) so once I heard they were taking part in preselections, it was already a name I knew
this years Olly Alexander is someone I already knew before as well, as someone who listened to Years&Years for years already
also back in 2015, when Czech Republic was represented by Marta Jandová and Václav Noid Bárta - I was already familiar with Marta, knowing her from the german band Die Happy.
