2024.05.21 06:41 jsungs deciding between nursing or premed pathway + how to find new experience?

i feel like especially with my college decisions outcomes (just waitlisted from uci nursing, rejected from other schools' bsn majors) and as a prospective cc student who's questioning whether to go on the biology degree/major or nursing route (and feeling like i need to decide soon especially since i need to figure out how credits transfer, etc), i'm feeling really confused on which path to take and wanted to see if i could get any advice!!
over the summer i interned at a local pain medicine clinic/the surgical center adjacent to it (shared facilities) and honestly fell in love with the OR -- i really really loved my experience and it honestly was a major factor in helping me decided what i want to pursue (in addition to interning at a children's hospital, and dissecting in bio class haha). the only downside is that i'm not sure if i want to pursue surgery (ex. do i have the capabilities to make it all the way to med school, what if i realize it's not the right way?) or nursing. i've also considered just going for a biology degree and applying for a direct msn program if i ever realize that i want to go into nursing, but i've read that this is kind of counterintuitive? i've also tried looking for some ways i could immerse myself more into healthcare (i found during my volunteering in the oncology department at a large hospital, my tasks were very limited and i would often sit around doing nothing, which doesn't help me or the staff in any way, because of the fact that i was just a volunteer + liability issues i think? which is understandable, but i want to do more than just that). i've looked into cna and phlebotomy certifications, but was wondering if there were any other options that i might not be aware of !
any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

2024.05.21 06:04 Educational_Bus8550 Degrees and certifications related to the criminal justice field

So l graduated almost two weeks ago with an A.S in crime scene technology and also a certification of crime scene technician. I was looking through some stuff and realized that I have almost completed the A.S degree for criminal justice technology and the certification for criminal justice specialist due to the classes I have already taken. So I plan on taking the rest of the 8 classes and is expected to graduate again in the spring of next year. Is this a smart move or am I being stupid? It's community college and I'm debt free as of right now because university is just way out of my poor pockets and fafsa seems to play too much. Had to work my way through all of it. I'm just conflicted a bit. Any advice helps thanks :) also my location is FL as of right now and they accept A.S for CSI in practically most of the agencies over here. (Idk if age matters here but I’m 24M)

2024.05.21 05:33 Neat_Foundation_7173 Is it weird for a lesbian to prefer dating a post-op trans girl or no?

I’m a lesbian, but I’m in college now and there are tons of people in my school and of varying identities. I’d like to date someone who has female anatomy (whether it be biological or surgically made) as I have this weird Pavlovian response to feeling a sense of unease when I know someone is biologically male. It’s not that I don’t think a trans woman is a woman or a trans man isn’t a man, but I just wonder if I’m allowed to have a preference as it’s a kind of loaded thing to have. And it also makes me wonder if I can date someone who is biologically female, but identifies as nonbinary or genderfluid because (like trans people) I don’t want to sum them up to their parts and put them in a box because of my weird shit.

2024.05.21 05:24 Longjumping_Dark_751 Finding different professions with a B.S biology degree

I’m a recent college graduate that has been working a technician job since I finished school. The workplace is something that I don’t love, being outdoors for very little pay hasn’t been my hopes. I’m wondering what other professions can I get into with a biology degree. I’m not exactly looking for a desk job but I’d settle for that than being outdoors spraying herbicide for 8 hours. I’m looking for fields that would take somebody with my basic Bio degree in hopes of getting certifications online beforehand to help my chances or fields that would take an entry level person like me and teach me. I have field work experience (so some kind of full-time work experience already). I would love some feedback from people who went the same route I did and realized there heart wasn’t in it and switched.

2024.05.21 05:12 PeytonManningsPrius Advice for 19 year old with no idea what to do as a career?

Hey y’all. I’m absolutely so lost with what I want to do as a career and was hoping to get some ideas. I’ve looked into being a nurse, but it seems really hard, and math and science have never been my strong suit, but I love chaotic jobs that force me to move around a lot and be social. I was a good student in high school overall, but never saw myself working in healthcare, until I got into my current job which is a pharmacy technician. I find it very boring, just filling prescriptions all day and doing boring computer stuff without moving around too much, but the education I’ve had to do leading up to it is pretty interesting. I used to be a department manager at Walmart and I LOVED it aside from a few shitty bosses I had, and eventually I saw myself becoming a store manager, but the more I talked to people the less I think it is a realistic choice even though I would love it. The competition is unimaginable and it sucks getting up to that point (terrible schedule, long hours, average pay). I’m going to college because I felt like I had to but really I have no idea what I want to do with my life. Plz help! I’m very social, bubbly, and energetic and I would like a decent paying job that doesn’t require more than 4 years of school. Any ideas?

2024.05.21 02:22 feelingfreefromFF 6 days in

Wanted to post my story here for any it might help.
I’m currently on day 6 of a CT quit, largely thanks to the existence of this sub and AA. As a background, I am a recovering alcoholic, whose been sober for several years.
How it started: 2 years ago a friend of mine who was familiar with the company, and knew I was in recovery suggested it might be a good alternative. Being familiar with both kratom and kava, I gave it a hard pass. However I did do some googling (this was pre-backlash / lawsuit) and there wasn’t much on the internet at this point. Still stayed away.
Months later I heard it promoted as a pre workout that was used by several colleges and gave it a second chance thinking, if it’s good enough for major D1 colleges to give to kids, it would be fine. Similar to others, the results were pretty amazing. I run to destress in sobriety and my times went down and mileage went up.
What happened: I slowly started taking it beyond workouts as I found it increased focus and efficiency at work and I am routinely on 5am calls.
That creeped to 1 a day…to 2 a day…pretty slowly. And I saw this and stopped. This should have been my out and I should have done some googling, because this was about 9 months ago.
Then earlier this year I started a new job and found myself back at it again. The ramp was pretty prolific (I am definitely an addict). I capped myself at 3 a day and couldn’t hold it, having to up the dosage as tolerance built.
I started to notice very real side effects, and tried to quit but couldn’t, feeling strong cravings and withdrawal symptoms. I would make sure I had enough supply at all times and I was hiding it from everyone around me.
The last few weeks were really bonkers, sometimes consuming 10-12 a day. Side effects were intense. Absolutely insane constipation (which I have never experienced before FF), my eyes were watery and felt like they had sties (people thought I had bad spring allergies), my skin - which is normally babyfaced for a 37m - suddenly looked 5 years older than I am with flaking and itchiness everywhere. Mentally I was destroyed, knowing that I should have known better given my history. Physically I was lethargic and couldn’t even run a mile at an 8 minute pace where 1 year ago this weekend I ran 7 mile race at a 7:22 pace.
My quit week: On Tuesday, I was really having trouble keeping anything down (including FF) and lost a lot of weight (10lbs quickly, or like 6% bodyweight). I threw up in my car, which was crazy. Also a goddamn nightmare to clean up if it’s FF. I couldn’t eat anything or move. My motivation was zero. It was effecting my personal life, mental and physical health in ways that really got me spiraling.
I woke up on Wednesday and bought a box as soon as the store opened and chugged one. I realized the shape I was in and decided to do some googling and found this sub existed. I also watched a few youtube videos that maybe will link later. Came to the realization that my fears were true, it was all because of feel free and that I needed to stop. I wrote “take accountability for your own health” on a piece of paper and put it on top of that box of FF. (Ripped that phrase straight from the YouTube so I really should link it).
I quit CT from there and have not had one since.
Where I’m at now: I called my sponsor Wednesday eve and came clean. He had no idea what I was talking about so it took a little explaining. I went to the store and bought magnesium and vitamin C and did the best I could to hold it together. I also talked to my doctor and got some gabapentin, which I would 300% recommend to deal with withdrawal.
I think I had some serious help in this regard as I’m already very familiar with 12 step programs, have a sponsor, and have worked through most of the real trauma/ resentments that led me down a dark path with booze. So, for someone who is doing this for the first time without that experience, here is my totally frank take:
0) stop now. This stuff is truly poison in every sense of the word. Unlike alcohol or other substances, where you literally have to taper, you will not die from quitting CT. Today is the day, you got this
1) consider a 12 step program. I initially hated this, but have come to really appreciate working through problems old and new with these steps. If you’re coming to this sub you are not alone
2) tell someone. It might be sibling or parent or friend. If you consider a 12 step program or are in one this could be your sponsor. This gets the monkey off your back a bit and will increase accountability
3) talk to your doctor. Don’t be scared. They are licensed medical professionals who see naked people all day. I am honestly not sure how well I would have done without the gabapentin
My detox process: as much water as possible, magnesium, vitamin C and emergenC multivitamin, gabapentin
Hope this helps + much love

2024.05.21 02:12 Kapples14 A New Era: Rockefeller Administration, Second Term (1969-1973)

A New Era: Rockefeller Administration, Second Term (1969-1973)

Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller: 40th President of the United States of America (1965-present), 49th Governor of New York (1959-1964), 1st Under Secretary of Health, Welfare, and Education (1949-1951).
Election Results: Despite many pundits expecting the presidential election to be a close race, President Rockefeller would come to win the presidency in a historic landslide victory. Carrying one of the largest electoral victories since Charles McNary's 1932 victory. The president would also find success in flipping the Democrat-held states of Minnesota and Massachusetts. This would come due to a widespread dissatisfaction with Democratic nominee Sam Yorty's campaign and poor relations with progressive and black voters, as well as numerous Democratic politicians publicly denouncing Yorty in favor of Rockefeller. Rockefeller's victory would also make him the first Republican president to win a second since Fiorello La Guardia won his 1944 bid.
Despite being able to carry the electoral vote of several Deep Southern states like Arkansas and Louisiana, Constitution Party candidate John M. Ashbrook would severely underperform at the ballots due to a lack of ballot access in a large number of states, a lack of support from the GOP, and a lack of a strong-enough national presence.
the Republican incumbent would celebrate his victory even further after learning that the Republicans retook the House and Senate, leaving him with a GOP-controlled Congress to further his political agenda.
At the start of the 91st Congress, the Republicans would elect House Minority Leader Gerald Ford as the newest Speaker of the House, with Representatives Richard H. Poff and John Jacobs Rhodes assuming the roles of Majority Leader and Minority Leader, respectively.

Background: President Rockefeller's second term would be mired with the increasing complications of now trying to end the Vietnam War, economic struggles, the departure of numerous White House officials and advisors, balancing his pursuits of environmentalism with appeasing conservative leaders, and handling the continued protests of his administration's handling of the war.
While Rockefeller would remain a well-respected figure by most Americans, his popularity with youth and progressives would slowly begin to decline yet again without an opposing candidate to compare himself against. With his focus on ending the Vietnam War consuming much of his time, he would begin looking towards Vice President Hiram Fong in order to provide him with a key domestic leader and likely successor in the upcoming 1972 election.
While Rockefeller would celebrate major successes in environmental protections, strengthening diplomatic practices, and the landing of the Apollo 11 on the moon, he would suffer from numerous criticisms over his handling of the Vietnam War. These controversies would only worsen due to the infamous release of the Pentagon Papers, exposing a history of malpractice by numerous presidential administrations regarding the Vietnam War.

Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller: 40th President of the United States of America (1965-present), 49th Governor of New York (1959-1964), 1st Under Secretary of Health, Welfare, and Education (1949-1951).

President: Nelson Rockefeller
-----------------------------------------------------
Vice President: Hiram Fong
Chief of Staff: C.A. Robins (1967-1969) Dick Cheney
Secretary of State: John J. McCloy (1965-1968) George Schultz (1968-present)
Secretary of the Interior: William Knowland (1965-1969) Russell W. Peterson (1969-present)
Secretary of Agriculture: Allan Hoover (1968-present)
Attorney General: Elliot Richardson
Postmaster General: Robert Corbett
Secretary of the Treasury: C. Douglass Dillon (1965-1970) Paul McCracken (1971-present)
Secretary of Commerce: Mark Hatfield (1965-1970) Frederick B. Dent (1970-present)
Secretary of Labor: Whitney Young
Secretary of Defense: Robert A. Lovett (1967-1969) John L. McLucas (1970-present)
Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare: Florence P. Dwyer (1965-1969) Caspar Weinberger
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development: Norris Poulson (1966-present)
Secretary of Transportation: William M. Allen (1966-present)
Ambassador to the League of Nations: Ralph Hauenstein (1967-present)
---------------------------------------------------

Government: The Senate would officially repeal the 1964 Gulf of Tonkin Resolution on June 24th, 1970. While Rockefeller would express dissatisfaction with the move in how it would hinder his ability to manage the war, he would recognize the importance of limiting the president's wartime powers through such diplomatic measures.
On August 12th, 1970, the president would sign the Postal Reorganization Act. After working with Congress and Postmaster General Corbett, President Rockefeller would unveil his plans to reorganize the postal system. The act would grant the Post Office financial and operational independence from the government, as well as give postal workers the power to unionize and bargain for better wages and hours.
The Emergency Employment Act of 1971, passed on July 12th of that year, would appropriate $1.2 billion towards the creation of 150,000 throughout the fiscal year. The act would also give favor towards veterans, recovering drug addicts, and unskilled youths; thus, ensuring that three major blocks heavily impacted by unemployment and poverty would be able to find work under the legislation. These jobs would come from the public service fields, providing new workers for prisons, environmental organizations, public safety groups, sanitation, and more.

Economy & Labor: With reports of rising inflation, President Rockefeller would begin formulating a complex plan to curb the rising costs through extending the surtax, budget cuts with heavier emphasis on military spending, and moderating the wage demands of labor groups.
On December 29th, 1970, President Rockefeller would sign the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1970, creating new federal regulations that would ensure the standardization and enforcement of proper safety practices in the workplace. The move would be lauded by labor organizations as a great advancement for the safety of America's working class.
President Rockefeller would sign the Par Value Modification Act on April 3rd, 1972, officially devaluing the U.S. dollar in order to begin stabilizing the economy. The realignment would seek to make American exports more attractive to foreign markets, expand the reach of America's agricultural and industrial products across seas, and create new high-paying jobs across America's industrial and agricultural industries. It would also authorize a direct change of the worth of gold to rise from $35 an ounce to $38.

Foreign Policy: On July 25th, 1969, President Rockefeller would present what he called "The Rockefeller Doctrine" during a visit to Guam. This doctrine would articulate how the U.S. would provide economic and military assistance to nations in order to fend off Communist forces, but would not assume primary responsibility in defending Asian nations. This Guam visit would become part of a tour that the President and Vice President would make including the countries of India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan, and the Philippines.
On May 20th, 1970, President Rockefeller and Secretary of State George Schultz would arrive in Russia to begin forging diplomatic relations with the U.S.S.R., meeting with General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev. Rockefeller would address this meeting as a necessary goal in deescalating the decades of tension between the U.S. and the Soviets, hoping that stronger diplomatic affairs would have a greater effect against communist forces than meddling in the civil affairs of other countries.

Vietnam War: With high expectations towards an end to the Vietnam War, the president would announce his goal to end U.S. involvement in the war before his term ends. This would first start with threats of advanced bombing campaigns on the North in response to any continuation of the Tet Offense, drawing further ire from anti-war activists. Things would drastically change, however, when on May 14th, 1969, President Rockefeller announced his vision for a peace plan with the U.S. and North Vietnam removing troops from South Vietnam over the next year. This would start with the U.S. removing 25,000 American troops from the active conflict.
A controversial move during the war would come when the U.S. and South Vietnam pulled a surprise bombing on Cambodian lands on March 20th, 1969, with the intent of destroying North Vietnamese strongholds. Many within the Democratic Party would condemn the move as a reckless endeavor that would have potentially escalated the war via Cambodia's involvement. President Rockefeller would retaliate against these remarks by arguing that the Cambodian government was already involved in the war by aiding North Vietnam.
In a diplomatic move, President Rockefeller would fly to the capitol of North Vietnam in September of 1969, one of several trips the president would make to the Vietnamese countries, in order to pay his respects in light of the passing of Ho Chi Minh. Despite the many attempts at creating a strong peace negotiation, President Rockefeller would make an Address to the Nation on November 3rd, 1969, solemnly declaring that North Vietnam has rejected the president's peace offerings. After another year of the militaristic stand-off, Rockefeller would make a surprise announcement in early January of 1971 that the U.S.'s involvement in the Vietnam War was reaching its end. This claim would be certified when the Senate passed a near-unanimous decision in June 22nd, 1971 to pull out all U.S. troops from Vietnam by the end of the year.

Civil Rights: President Rockefeller would seek to further support the pursuit of civil rights by creating new regulations towards the desegregation of elementary and secondary schools, as well as working to negotiate new busing policies within the South that would better aid black and Hispanic youths. It would empower the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to take such enforcement actions against businesses, individuals, employers, and labor unions found to be violating said laws. The amendment would also require employers to make accommodations for the religious practices of employees.
In a major push for equal opportunities, the president would sign the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972 on March 24th of that year. The act, serving as an amendment to the 1964 Civil Rights Act, would authorize the federal and state governments with the power and responsibility of enforcing anti-discrimination within the workforce by cracking down on employment discrimination against minority groups.

Major Accomplishments: On July 20th, 1969, the U.S. would define human history when they successfully landed two astronauts on the moon. Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin would become the first men to stand on the moon, with each of them eventually being awarded the Medal of Freedom by Rockefeller. During a speech regarding the landing, President Rockefeller would give recognition to Presidents Kennedy and Reuther, as well as the many scientists, engineers, computers, and NASA employees who made the feat possible.
On April 22nd, 1970, President Rockefeller would join with House Speaker Ford, Democratic senator Gaylord Nelson, and Interior Secretary Russell W. Peterson, in celebrating the very first national Earth Day. This event would serve as a massive charity event dedicated to uplifting environmental organizations, as well as a massive public litter-cleaning event across New York City.
On December 31st, 1970, President Rockefeller would sign the Clean Air Bill, authorizing the development of federal and state regulations to limit emissions from both stationary and mobile sources.

Major Controversies: On May 4th, 1970, members of the National Guard would shoot and kill four student protestors at the Kent State University in Ohio, with nine more students being wounded during the conflict. This would cause more than 100,000 protestors to gather around numerous government buildings, including the White House. In response to this, the president would condemn the shooting, as well as announcing that the offending officers would be removed from active duty and that the Department of Justice would begin investigating the shooting.
The New York Times would begin publishing a series of reports known as the Pentagon Papers, starting on June 13th, 1970. These papers would detail the secret history of the Department of Defense's activities and reports during the Vietnam War, as well as revealing that the Dirksen, Humphrey, Kennedy, Reuther, and Rockefeller administrations had misled the public regarding the Vietnam War.

2024.05.21 02:00 DoTheFunkySpiderman need advice on how to deal with technicians changing doctors requisitions

22f, non smoker, prescribed propanolol for hypertension & on birth control. i live in canada
i have confirmed severe cushing’s syndrome with hyperprolactinemia, and my estradiol/progesterone levels are post-menopausal. i’ve already lost most peripheral vision out of both eyes & my right eye went legally blind last year. my menstrual cycle comes every 2 weeks for a few months then disappears for 6 months.
doctor obviously stated concern about a pituitary adenoma about 9 months ago, so he ordered a CT scan of the head & neck with contrast. the technician decided that wasn’t needed and didn’t administer contrast, even though i had waited 6 months for it. he then ordered an MRI with contrast, and again they didn’t administer contrast, nor did they even mention my pituitary region on the report, after 3 months of waiting.
my prolactin levels double every time we check them, and estrogen is post-menopausal, which makes me worry about my FSH and later fertility. my cortisol levels are consistently above 1100 nmol/L as well. however every test my doctor orders gets changed by the technician & i end up waiting longer. any advice on what to do in this situation?

2024.05.21 01:59 TeryakiBoulevard Career path to become a sales engineer with no degree?

Hi everyone,
My previous experience is as an automotive mechanic, as well as an R&D test technician in the same field, and an engineering/mechanical technician in the biomedical field. About 5 years of work experience altogether. I have no college degree. I've always been very good with my hands and have a very good understand of how things work.
I was recently laid off and would like to get into sales. It's been recommended to me by many based on my personality, and I think it would be a good career choice. Long term, I think the role that would suit me best would be a sales engineering position, as that would allow me to use my technical background which is really all I've got going for me at the moment. I understand that a SE role is not entry level, and just about the only way into sales in general for me is going to be a SDR position. I'm wondering if it's realistic to think that I'd be able to work my way up to a SE position down the line? I feel that with my technical background, my skills and interests may be better aligned with a SE position than a typical sales role. Ideally I think tech would be the way to go, but I'm very hardware oriented and not much of a software guy (generally good with computers but not a programmer by any means). Considering medical device as well, but not sure if I'm cut out to be driving to hospitals and sitting in on surgeries every day...
What do you guys think the right move may be? Looking for any input at all!

2024.05.20 21:21 SurgeryLove Where to improve?

Hello everyone! To keep it short, I am going back to school to finish up pre-reqs for medical school. I will be back in school for about a year and a half before I apply so I want to combine all my stats together to know where I should spend my time when I go back to school.
I also understand that this may look like I am "gloating" or have already done enough, but I truthfully don't know where to improve.
Graduated with a B.S. Psychology
CGPA: 3.5 / SGPA 3.27 - Should note that after postbac it would be raised to likely CGPA 3.62 / SGPA 3.7 (Ideally I would show an upward trend and with all my course work an average of 3.9)
MCAT: Have not taken, will hope that it will be in 515-520 Range (need to make up for GPA somehow ;( )
Volunteer
(HIGH SCHOOL) - Animal Shelter - 150 Hours Moderation of a Large Server - 750 Hours Hospital - Non-Clinical - 80 Hours
TOTAL: 980 Hours
Clinical Volunteer EMT Training - 20 Hours
TOTAL: 20 Hours
Shadowing OR Observation - 2 Hours
Leadership President / Student Government Rep for LGBTQ+ Organization - 300 Hours Student Government - 500 Hours Fraternity - 300 Hours Pre-Med Organization - 50 Hours Co-Chair Dinner - 100 Hours
TOTAL: 1250 Hours
Research Autism Focused - 400 Hours Surgical Lab Participant - 20 Hours
TOTAL: 420 Hours
Paid Employment Orientation Leader - 900 Hours Current Job / Agricultural Sciences - 2000 Hours Supervisor at Job - 200 Hours
TOTAL: 3100
Teaching Mentor for First Year Students - 275 Hours
TOTAL: 275 Hours
Hobbies Ultimate Frisbee - 600-800 Hours - Was apart of a universities ultimate frisbee team and local team Hiking - 150 Hours
TOTAL: 750-950 Hours
First to get the obvious out, yes more time in research, volunteering, clinical, and shadowing.
Research - Will join a team when going back to school Volunteering - Will join more when I get back to school Clinical - Likely go for a medical scribe position Shadowing - Will reach out more to doctors when I am back. Will try to reach out to some now as well.
My experiences (other then high school) go from 2019 to 2023, mostly research and volunteer falter into early into my college. I feel weird putting them on, but it is still apart of my experience. So my question is that is it fine to go that far back to what I did in college and then where else should I improve.

2024.05.20 20:56 komelinnn Tired of being a Lab Technician

I didn’t know where else to turn so I decided to come here for help. I appreciate any and all suggestions and advice. So backstory, I’m a 27 year old lab technician in the oil field. I’ve been a lab technician for about 5 years now. I have found myself uninterested in the same day to day routine and working around the same people. The job was very rewarding to me as far as expanding knowledge for the first 3 years, but I’ve been in this mental rut of being unsure of if I want to change careers or further my studies. When I first went to college I knew I wanted to study chemistry for the challenge and I did enjoy it, but as time goes on, I feel like I’ve lost that “challenge” and stuck in the mundane. Any advice for someone like me? I’m also a parent of 2. My oldest is 4 and I am just trying to find a way to be happy and feel satisfied while working. Thanks In advanced.

[0 YoE] Materials Engineer Struggling To Get Interviews After Graduating In December
Hi everyone, I graduated as a materials engineer in December and have been struggling to get any interviews since then. I’ve had one interview but I think it was mostly due to an internal recommendation and was ultimately told they were looking for someone with more professional experience. Any tips or advice on my resume would be great. The attached copy is more mechanical design as I change the title for each job but the majority of the information is generally the same. Thanks!

2024.05.20 18:43 Loolean Went to the ER for chest pain, should I have told them I purge/use laxatives?

I (22F 112lbs, 5'2) had some chest pain and my college's medical center told me to go to the ER. My college took an EKG that was labeled as '"abnormal" but at the ER they found nothing across multiple EKGs, labs, and a chest CT. I went back to my PCP who prescribed OTC acid reducers.
I have purged for the last five years sporadically (taking months off to highs of purging after every meal). I have also started using laxatives in the last 6 months. Before I went to the ER, I drank electrolytes first and ate without purging to ensure that I wasn't creating this problem with my eating behavior (not to hide anything) but the chest pain persisted.
I have not told anybody about the purging, but could it be relevant to mention on my next visit? Could it be attributing to the chest pain despite okay labs and ekgs? I would prefer not to mention it if it is irrelevant, but the anti acids aren't working.

2024.05.20 18:43 FroopyMcDoopy 46 [M4F] #Houston #Texas - Oddly Healthy Tattooer seeks Kind, Funny, Brilliant Redhead Lady

How's it going? Thanks for checking out my post. Here goes...
About me: I was a ditch digger, then a trombonist, then a motorcycle mechanic, then an Air Force avionics technician, then a college art teacher, before becoming a tattoo artist and opening my own studio.
I'm a vegetarian (not for ethical reasons) since 1993, I walk 3 miles every day, I haven't had any alcohol since 1980, and I've never used tobacco/smoked anything (including weed). Totally down for responsible psychedelic use though. 🍄
Poly-wise I'm in a platonic open marriage of 18 years--we're co-parents, domestic partners, and best friends. She's really smart and funny, and a great cook besides. We're not looking for a triad/unicorn situation, but it'd be cool if y'all got along at dinner.
I enjoy cooking, taking twice daily tea, attending concerts/museums/galleries, accompanying my goofy affectionate pitbull to the dog park, taking hot baths, making art with my friends, designing and building electromechanical clocks, afternoon naps, listening to podcasts (OTM is my favorite), visiting parks/thrift stores, vintage film photography, admiring hand embroidery...
Seeking: an ideally long-term relationship with a kind, funny, brilliant, honest, svelte redhead woman who's into communicating and showing up regularly, going on adventures together, co-equal nurturing and support. Bonus points if you like Glücksschwein and/or Steely Dan, and if you'd care to accompany me for sunrise tea at Bryce Canyon.
Open to long-distance at first, but if things are going well, I'll want you to relocate to Houston sooner than later--my house, family, and business are here.
If you've read this far and are interested, what's something you've enjoyed creating lately?
DMs welcome :)
