“IF” he wanted to he would just find away around it, therefore we shouldn’t have a p blocker. He claims its pointless and feels like I’m survaillencing him. But he also said he doesn’t want to watch other women ever again and isn’t going to. Yeah right
I have a question about porn blockers. Do they block out all NSFW material, even on social media?
In the past he has kept friendly contact with women he used to sext, telling me they were friends. He saved photos of women in cosplay, regular selfies and nudes from reddit to his camera roll on his phone, where I could easily stumble over them.
Early on in the relationship he told me about this woman he used to have a crush on, who was an online friend of his. While he talked about her it seemed like he still had a crush on her. I later found out he searched up her facebook regularly and when I asked why he confessed to masturbating to her profile pictures. He did this as well to other women, random ones and other old crushes. After promising to never doing it again, and I fully believed him, he did it again and just deleted the history thinking I wouldn’t find out. He even saved links to some of the womens profiles.
The last time he relapsed was by looking at NSFW material on Reddit. So obviously he likes looking at women online and that is still porn, but it’s not through a porn site.
Where do I go from here if he doesn’t want to get a p blocker or a therapist for his addiction?

2024.05.27 23:15 malignantz Galaxy S23 Ultra I bought new 15 months ago reported stolen. TMo says contact Samsung. Samsung says contact Tmo. What do I do?

Bought a Galaxy S23 Ultra 15 months ago at a Samsung store with a trade-in and cash (receipt in hand), connected it to my T-mobile account (2/13/2023) and just a few days ago my mobile network connection stopped (SMS, call, data). T-mobile reps in store said the phone was reported lost/stolen, but I don't know who would have the authority to do that, since it is my phone on my account purchased brand new from samsung store in person.
Went back to Samsung store where it was purchased and they said there was nothing they can do. They claim that when Samsung gets a stolen phone report, they will lock down the device, preventing usage except to call 911 or Samsung. If this is correct, that would mean that Samsung didn't block the phone, since it works fine except for connecting to a mobile network. I have even chatted with Samsung reps online to verify / double-check.
After calling 611 2x (2 reps and a supervisor) and using T-Force chat, I'm fairly confident that a different carrier other than T-mobile reported the phone lost/stolen, since T-mobile claims that they would have an "unblock" option if it was blocked on their end and none of the reps or supervisor were able to unblock the device.
Random IMEI Checker websites show the IMEI as blocked/blacklisted/fraud/etc depending on the site.
Does anyone have any advice or inside connections at T-Mobile to help me get my phone connected again or even just help trying to unravel what is a frustrating and labyrinthine maze of how this shit works...

It's been over a year. When will this end?
I haven't spoken to her in almost a year. I ran into her at an event yesterday.
I tried to keep it light. But next thing I knew I was telling her how much our relationship meant to me, and please unblock. I don't even care to be in a romantic relationship. Just end this punishment.
She basically threw daggers at my face. She mocked me. Laughed at me. Called me "pathetic". Said there was no way. She said the relationship didn't mean that much to her. I basically humiliated myself.
My diarrhea and insomnia came back last night. As well as my uncontrollable crying. I could barely get though the day.
I don't even like her anymore. I'm scared of her. She intimidates me. She's rude. She's mean-spirited. She's cruel.
She's like the opposite of what I want in a relationship: Kind, patient, understanding, generous, communicative. This person is none of those things. Quite the opposite.
So why am I sucking up to her?
Why am I tiptoeing around her like I don't have a right to be at a community event I was invited to?
Why do I feel guilty about "disturbing her space"?
Why am I still crying over this????
She blocked me. I have always said I will never have a relationship with anyone who uses blocking. I can't stand it. It is a particular trigger of mine. I wouldn't mind literally anything else. But blocking. I made that rule for myself nearly ten years ago.
And yet, here I am. Still begging for girl for a pathetic morsel. "Please let's just be friends on Facebook". Like. Dear Lord what is wrong with me.
I don't like her. I don't respect her. I think she's a coward. I think she a narcissist really. She definitely has mental health issues. (Which is fine, so do I, clearly).
I'm so angry at myself for not just turning around and saying "peace out". I don't need to humiliate myself like this.
In my mind I said something kind and sweet. If I had been the person on the other end of that, I would have said: "That is all sweet... Thank you.", and I would have given the other person a hug. "Sorry it didn't work out. But you meant something to me too."
Her? Nope.
She flicked her cigarette and blew smoke in my face.
It hurt.
This whole thing has cut me to my soul.

Hi all,
TL;DR - here are some organic (non-paid) ways to get more leads.
You might have seen my AMAs for photographers and photobooth owners (they're still open btw, and I'm still here!). I helped around 80 people across the posts, messages and Zooms with marketing issues (most common issues: no clear CTA button above the fold on landing pages or confusing messaging about the offer). I mentioned I was writing a guide to help with your marketing issues.
Why was I giving out free advice? I was bored and belittled at work (I work FT in a marketing role) and I saw from my own wedding 6 months ago and my friends in the field just how hard you guys work, and how tough it is to market your services.
I was writing this on a Google doc when one of you reached out and asked if you could publish my article on your new site, and I said of course.

Love is a lie, there are no true equals, and romance is just business with a smiley face slapped on it. These declarations sound like some drug-addled spew from an insane basement dweller who has never left his room, but I may just be right. Maybe.
In ancient times, the Middle Ages, the Romans, ancient China, hell, even Sumer, relationships weren't about anything we modern humans perceive as "love". Marriage was a political bargaining tool or an opportunity to climb up in the caste system. Nothing more.
What modern humans perceive as love, that is, sexual attraction, was fulfilled in the form of concubines for the wealthy and brothels for the common man. Sex between the married was rare at best, and was more often initiated due to societal expectations rather than legitimate attraction.
We see this same logic often in modern times, women are dating "up" whereas men are dating at the same level, leading to the male loneliness epidemic and collapse of the birth rate. The rich are literally drowning in pussy, while the rest of us are starving for even the most basic human connection. Those women don't really "love" those men, and are often not even attracted to them. They're just rich.
Back in the day, we didn't have this problem, as women were dependent on men. In the nuclear family, we see the same dynamic as we have seen throughout history-the marital deal. That is, romance and marriage are strictly business. They are a business deal. In the nuclear family, the woman required a house, food, and clothing. The one thing she had to offer was sex. This spawned a transaction. She performs sexual acts, and he shelters her.
We've seen this in every society where the rights of women were limited. The Islamic world, medieval Europe, modern-day Africa, ancient China, pre-feminism America, and so on.
But now, with the new post-feminism marital market and the destigmatization of breakups and divorce, there is simply no need for 90% of men anymore and those men have been left in the dust. If love was a real thing, how come so many of us have been cast to the side? Again, partnerships are just business deals. You always want a better deal. A richer man, a hotter woman. Everyone fiends for the best, and most settle in their 30s, but if the opportunity for a better deal comes up, of course you'll accept.
This isn't some crap redpill argument. Men do this too. Henry VIII went so far as to behead his brides when he saw a better deal, even further proving that this logic is human nature and is utterly timeless.
The dynamics we're seeing aren't "OMG WAHMENS ARE EVIL AWALT AWALT FEMOIDS BAD FENEMIZM RUINED MY LIFEE", it's just that women have a higher market value than men and get way more options. They don't have to settle for less until they're basically on their deathbed. Naturally, you'd flock to the best deal like you were perusing through insurance adverts. It's nobody's fault.
Women don't need men anymore. For money, they have a job. For emotional support, they have friends. The only real reason a woman would need a man is for sexual pleasure, so naturally, they flock to the most well-endowed. The best deal. And relationships built strictly on sexual pleasure don't last long, as sexual attraction dies out over time, and sooner than later, you are trapped in a long-term relationship you are bored of. Then, you start to get sick of the other party and resent them. In loveless relationships such as these (like most marriages) a social hierarchy forms similar to Rudolf Schenkel's wolf experiments (a.k.a. the doggo prison gang) where the trapped wolves fought for dominance over the others. This stems from human nature-monkeys don't mate for life. Humans don't either. We are a hypergamous species-all of us, not just women. Long-term relationships and marriages turn people into Schenkel's wolves. Unrelated individuals trapped and left to fight.
Relationships are strictly business, and that's all they ever were. If there was some mystical binding force that attracts men and women like magnets, why have most men been forgotten about as soon as they ceased to be useful?
This is why I never understood why women are mad that they're "just sex". Of course they are, in the same way men are just a wallet. A sale isn't about the dude selling it to you, it's about what you get out of it. Don't women understand this? Men understand it just fine. Women treat men as wallets, so why aren't they mad when men treat women like prostitutes? It's dehumanizing, but it's human nature to dominate, to feel superior, and thus dehumanize others. I, a man, fully understand that romance is just an overcomplicated form of sex work.
Back to human nature for a bit. People claim that the best relationship is an equal one. But there's no such thing as an equal relationship. You might as well say that the best animal in the world is a displacer beast. It's human nature to dominate others. Every "romantic" relationship has a dominant partner. This is typically the one with higher "sexual market value" (hotter, richer, etc.). They know they have multiple opportunities to get a better deal, and they know that you know. And they know you will do anything to keep them. So of course they sleep around and take your whole paycheck. And they're so happy that you put their name on your house and your shiny new car. And you let them get away with it (This ties in back to the wolf experiments I mentioned earlier).
People have been letting the dominant partners do whatever the fuck they want for millennia. If the queen put up a fuss about the king's concubines, she'd be tortured to death in the castle dungeon. If a peasant woman didn't like the idea of her "dearly beloved" getting piss drunk every night at the brothel, well, she got brutally beaten and kicked out.
Sex was never wholesome, or pure, or had any meaning at all, really. It was always either a casual dopamine rush, or a reward for your "partner" for doing your bidding (getting you more things you want out of the business deal). I never understood why religious folks think sex is holy or something. It's not. It's just something of value that people will do anything for. Oil isn't holy, and neither are pieces of paper with Washington's face plastered on them. Neither is gold, or silver, or jade, or seashells, or cacao.
And back to business deals, here's why she got mad that you had another girlfriend before her or lied about your height/yearly income, kids! Because as soon as she finds out the truth, she sees you in the same way she sees used car salesmen. You conned her into a bad deal. If another woman broke up with you, she can infer that you aren't a very good deal. A house that keeps going up for sale is going to drop in price, because if nobody wants it for long, there must be something wrong with it. You are used, damaged goods. She returned you to the market, and there must have been a good reason.
If you lied about your height or wealth on a dating site, then the reason she didn't call back is the same reason companies have been sued: false advertisement. You can't do that in business relationships, so, by proxy, you can't do that in "romantic" relationships either.
Love isn't real, and sex and romance were always strictly business. In fact, most relationships are the direct opposite of pop culture's "love" in my experiences. They are not only transactional, but also adversarial. I'm not talking about domestic violence here, although DV has been used by the more brutish and unsavory among us to "win" (become the dominant partner) at relationships.
I tend to call relationships "Machiavelli's pissing match" for a few reasons. One of which being the fact that Machiavelli wrote about power and control, and how to obtain and defend such things from adversaries. Relationships are VERY Machiavellian when you look at it (This harkens back to the bit about "dominant partners" earlier). It's monkeys in a cage fighting, constantly trying to win more control, constantly vying to gain the upper hand. Everyone's heard of the "shit test" (to use RP terminology, can't find anything better) of "Oh, you can open up around me." This isn't someone being friendly, this is someone digging for dirt, grasping at anything they can use against the other party. An emotional man is a weak man, and weak men will never be feared, thus, never be loved. The weak are taken advantage of while the strong wear the pants.
In a relationship, you are either a superior or an inferior. In polygamous relationships, you can be both if you're in the middle of the hierarchy. Your superior will try to control you, your inferior will try to betray you and climb the hierarchal ladder. You are going to get hurt. Period. This Segways into my next bit of this rant.
The facade. Relationships aren't about emotions, or love, or anything. They're about saving face. Women have it easier in this regard, since they only need 1 mask for the relationship to continue and the benefits to keep flowing in. Men need 2. Both parties need to act like they love each other, but only men need to also act emotionless so the woman will respect him. Once the woman loses that fear and respect once they realize this burly, stoic tough guy is human like the rest of us, her mask of "love" drops and she finds benefits somewhere else. The only thing keeping relationships together is sexual attraction and money. If the guy doesn't have money and his mask slips, there goes the attraction. When someone "settles", they don't have this problem, they'll just be with the other person regardless (they don't want to be 45 and single). Settled relationships were loveless anyway, some don't even bother masking the fact that they'll never forget the benefits they got from the "old prince" (more Machiavelli for you) before they had to move on.
But why the facade? Simple. We don't get attached to the other person, as we shouldn't. We're just here to milk them dry of benefit and make the other person think we love them. If you never made an emotional connection to begin with, it makes it much easier to drop someone for a better deal and much easier to recover when someone pulls something to gain more power. If your wife cheats with 3 dudes behind your back, she is now the superior because she is wanted by more people and she knows that. The inferior has betrayed you to become your superior. Now she has a higher sexual market value, and she knows you know that, so now she makes the rules, otherwise she will leave you for one of the 3 dudes she fucked. But if you don't get attached in the first place, she can't manipulate you like that. She wasn't attached, if she was, she wouldn't have fucked 3 people. Now it's time for you to make the move and drop her ass. I hear so many people try to divert redpillers away from TRP by saying that women make emotional connections in relationships just like men, but here's the thing, NOBODY makes an emotional connection. They don't love you. They love to fuck you. They love your car. They love your house. There was just a case of someone who didn't care that their ex went to jail for 5 years over not paying child support for a kid that wasn't even his. She was the dominant partner. She got to sleep around. He was weak. He got taken advantage of. She didn't care. She liked it, even. She got to sit on her ass, gargle cock and cash checks.
A relationship is a heartless grab for benefit, pleasure, and power.
I understand that there may be holes in my opinion, that's why I'm coming here. This isn't a troll, I'm not gonna soapbox, this is a legitimate post. I promise. I need a different opinion here. This is the way I've thought about the world for a while, and I've come to realize it's kind of a fucked-up way to view things.
Please restore my faith in the human race.

My neighbor is a crazy cat lady who genuinely believes things like "we've never been to space". She's also the type of person constantly posting links to obviously fake news sites on Facebook. The ones where porn ads are blasted everywhere, half the site is in Russian, etc... At the same time, she preaches how much smarter she is for knowing when news sources are fake, all the while her "main source" is trying to get her to download some pirated software.
She owns multiple guns, treats them like her baby, and makes sure that everyone is aware of them. As if she's trying to sound wise and tough at the same time. Of course, she'll also make sure to tell you how she won't hesitate to shoot any police that try to take her guns when the government bans them 🙄

Like the title states, I am now using firefox on my desktop with no issues.
Chrome suddenly stopped working. Can't access gmail, my router's UI, everything.

I got myself into a cheap headset that drew my attention, however reviews have left a lot of people discouraged with it due to the lack of audio engineering skills required to work with it, but I have been determined to figure it out, however I am not sure what ratios I should be looking for in the conversion, encoding, bitrate, exportation, and uploading process to Youtube and there hasn’t been much information around to refer to. If you have information to share or add on it would be greatly appreciated. I also wrote my findings and notes for other people who have also been stumped with this mic, and will be updating this as I go along.
There have been people able to upload their recordings from their Ambeo Smart Headset onto youtube without a problem. It is a headset with two mics. One each on the left and right ear, meant to record 3d or binaural audio and I got myself a set because it sounds like an amazing tool to use. The thing is you need to dig around information about firstly, working around apple to actually be able to export the raw recording from your iphone or get an adapter for the headset to record directly onto your computer
(something that also needs more thorough research in order for it to work, I’d appreciate resources for this.)
I saw a recent video uploaded to youtube where the user was testing a usb-c adapter to keep recording with the ambeo headset from an iphone 15. And the sound came through perfectly. I reached out to ask him a few questions, although he seemed reluctant to be thorough, and didn’t press him for more.
I got a few hints that it has to do with how you work the file onto your computer. The headset is a golden tool for those who have knowledge in audio processing and engineering.
The first hint I got was making sure the file is as uncompressed as possible before trying to work on it. The user said it should be exporting the video as a two channel stereo file, this is the format of what binaural recordings use.
Then I had to look up a tutorial on how to properly export the video onto the pc with as little loss as possible. It is still not yet a known possibility to extract it raw from iphone.
Requirements: Chrome app on iPhone Chrome folder in files “Apple Devices” app on Windows (& Mac?)
  1. Go to your video and hit the share button and scroll down and select where it says “Export unmodified original” (click the info button on your video before, to look at the file size and type)
  2. Save to the chrome folder under “On My Iphone”
  3. On the desktop, make sure you have “Apple Devices” installed and plug in your iphone
  4. Click on the “files” folder then “chrome” and click on the video file. (It should be the same file size or a few MB off the original)
  5. Save the file.
From then on, you need to figure out a way to convert the video file or extract the audio as losslessly as you can and find DAWs and plugins that will work with it so you can normalize or equalize the sound and improve it as needed (maybe denoise and other things) (the headset records at very quiet levels)
Information from the Adobe community:
Keep in mind that if you are uploading onto youtube, in order to prevent too much loss of quality you would need to somehow get the site to process or encode your video to VP9/OPUS and apparently this will happen if you make sure to export/upload the video in a 2560x1440p resolution or if you want a square format, 1918x1440p
This process will only work via chrome and android As far as I know. Safari and iPhone don’t support VP9
If any of you have more insights or things to add to get the best out of this headset in post, please do so.

I had a number of analysts, computer engineers, and website developers on hand to discuss the upcoming visitor to Earth. While a good portion of humanity was shifty about the concept of an AI, I could hardly care less for their opinion. Humanity First would welcome its wayward protector back home with open arms. They deserve nothing less.
And so, I found myself in various conversations with said experts on how we could welcome an AI most effectively. While there already was plans to broadcast a hearty greeting to Nemesis from humanity in general, I'd like a personal good first impression from our group in particular to Red One. She needed to know that, despite the fact there were some luddites who would despise her for no good reason, she would always supported by us. There were ideas of asking Google to stylize their homepage in response to her, giving her a friendly letter to read in thanks for defending Earth. I already asked various political leaders around the world to pitch in to the letter though some new party members in said countries.
Speaking of which! Humanity First was rapidly becoming an international political party. Hard not to when aliens slaughter humanity wholesale. We were rightfully angry, and we would be heard. My patronage and endorsement got them off the ground running effectively, and they turned to me for basic planning on a large scale.
I kept down some of the more rowdy elements, however. There were supposedly plans to bomb the U.N. Remembrance on Venlil Prime by a radical element. Thankfully, I was able to get some refugee sympathizers to talk him down. Killing our own would solve nothing. The U.N. might not be aimed the right way currently, but as long as we work patiently, and don't do something as stupid as bombing a public speech, or announcing open rebellion, we ought to sway them far more to our proper way of thinking.
I wonder what she thinks of us, however. I am aware of the roughly nine-thousand dead in orbit by Nemesis' guns, and nothing has yet been stated as to why. I can only hope it was some mistake, and not a trend of things to come. Maybe I could try and help pay off the affected families, settle their dues?
There were also some of our number who applied for the de-facto exchange program planned with Red One. While we didn't know if any would get in currently, hopefully at least one would, and even if not, there were likely more sympathizers in the woodwork that would get in. We'd just have to probe some through the candidates. I'd have to bribe for a listing once they're selected to be sure.
A lot of work had to be done, if we wanted to use her help to bring proper justice to the aliens that marred our home so immensely. That burned our people in antimatter. We would not stand for it, and I was hoping Red One wouldn't either.
My attention turned back from internal monologue towards the multi-call on hand"...so if we change this website element here, we can get a political ad set aside. I'm not certain if this AI will see GUI like humans do, but I'm not gonna just go write a raw text manifesto in the HTML for them. The cost per thousand..." I droned back out again, the terminology being discussed between the group out of my wheelhouse besides asking my personal touch. They knew what they were doing, and if I heard my name called, I'd get a re-brief on the relevant bits.
I turned my chair to look out the window again. While I could still feel the somber mood in the air over London, it at least wasn't capitalized by another suicide I could see. Hopefully, we could heal from the loss, and be all the stronger for it. We would not let the Federation succeed in murdering more of us by proxy of despair, if I could so help it.
Maybe I should have some fliers put out for a checkup on mental health? Humanity First, while still not known as a majority party anywhere, we were widespread enough. Might as well tie some more goodwill to the name. If we want real change, we need hearts and minds; the healthier, the better, and even more so if in our title.
I took a note down to look into mass counseling resources. Maybe a motivational talk on stage somewhere, or celebrity outreach? I'd discuss it with some old political PR friends.
Agh, ow, ow ow ow, back's acting up again.
I reached for a painkiller bottle on my desk, and popped down two. Sweet relief came not long after, the hazards of old age melting away to the comforts of modern chair design. Being nearly eighty nine was a literal pain. I can't imagine how Nemesis feels, being twelve-hundred-something and riddled with more holes than Swiss cheese.
A chuckle came to my lips at the internal joke, before I forced myself back into watching the video call. I was neglecting context, and I ought to try and get back in gear if I'm going to make the welcome home party a worthwhile effort.
She deserves it after all. Who wouldn't, for all her hard work?

The Snow Hidden trailed the convoy, not at the front, but definitely in front of Nemesis. Despite her gratuitous mass, she still was still heading to Earth at increasing velocity every moment. In fact, Earth could effectively be seen from here. A pale blue dot, drifting amongst the black of space. Not visible currently to the native eye, no, but to a ship's far more precise sensors, absolutely. It was for this that I started to feel concern for Red One's arrival.
Would she be accepted by enough? While there were likely kindred souls as my own, caring for our wayward AI, I also knew Earth held no shortage of people afraid and cautious of AI as a principle. Would she be safe from their judgement, vulnerable as she is?
What was she feeling, as we approached? Dread? Fear? Hope? I wasn't sure, Red was a complicated bag of emotions wrapped up in a form I had no idea how to truly empathize with. It wasn't like talking to a war veteran of the Satellite Wars, no, she was a warship. She likely had no other prerogative in her function beyond that of war.
Could she be more? Could she change, if she so wished?
It was for that reason I began to open a channel to Red. Only one way to find out what she was thinking, and that was to ask. As I waited for the confirmation of communication, I scanned about looking for Lithke.
He was clearly not at the bridge, likely in quarters currently. Whether he needed sleep or privacy I didn't know, but all I did know is that he did not want coffee. I was flabbergasted; not wanting coffee, on an all-night trip like this!? It would even keep him up to talk with Red more, as he kept denying wanting to do! But of course, no plant products, it would be downright dangerous to Arxur likely, obligate carnivores they are.
There wasn't some sort of...meat coffee they had, maybe? I...can't really picture him drinking anything, can I?
My odd track of thought was interrupted by Red's transmission request being received. She was fine to talk. I opened the hail.
"Hiya Red. How are you currently? No sudden issues with the trip or yourself?"
"Hello Hailey. No, my systems, while damaged, are managing fine enough so far. The fastening processes of the freighters are still holding. I'm more surprised they can continue full burn so long at this strain."
I sipped my mug. "Well, I don't mean to brag about our Venlil allies, but cargo freighters engines are some of the best of the line! Comes with being the largest ships by mass in the galaxy; you need quality engineering. They've had spaceflight far longer than us, and it shows."
"Quite. The power draw for this isn't too taxing, I hope? I figured fuel would likely run dry at some point, even as sizeable stores they might have."
I was somewhat taken aback by this. "Run out? Well, I guess it's technically possible, sure, if you run out of conversion or torch exhaust mass, but antimatter reactors are as efficient as it gets! The power source on those babies will last longer than I would given proper maintenance."
There was a sudden stall in the conversation, a pause before Red responded: "Antimatter reactors? Where are you getting that much antimatter from? Mass-producing it is not a simple thing."
"I'm...uh, not an engineer, but if I recall...there's a process, or machine maybe, that can just casually...flip...the charges in particles. The science is beyond me, don't ask."
That she didn't know this-wait...
"Wait, what are you using for reactors?"
Red One was quick to clarify. "Minuette Cold Fusion Tower Reactors for backup, and a Breach Core for primary power. I'm not certain if the latter is known in your sciences, based on what I've seen and heard so far."
Wait, wasn't cold fusion thought to be a bust? Would have to ask a scientist about that...
"I would have to agree with you. I have no idea what a 'Breach Core' is, and I don't recall cold fusion ever being considered a reasonable option in my time."
"I have plenty I need to ask your scientists and engineers once we arrive. I am not familiar with a good portion of the technology and capabilities on display here, beyond the practical usage."
About that...
"Red...I wanted to ask you something, slightly off-topic." I queried her. When she gave the go ahead, I continued. "I know you're likely nervous about being almost to Earth. Did...you wanna talk about it any? Get things off your chest?"
Red One was silent for far longer than normal at that. Eventually however, she did respond.
"Earth was dead. Sol itself, silent and banal. I dreaded that silence upon every visit back here. No matter the purpose, no matter how familiar I was with the unchanging quietude, it was uncomfortable. And yet, now that I hear the Earth buzzing again with life, I feel even more oddly uncomfortable. Am I wrong to feel that?"
I wasn't a therapist. But God forbid if I didn't want to try and alleviate her fears.
"I don't think so, Red. Anyone would be utterly uncomfortable with such a paradigm shift as entering a parallel universe, where humanity is alive after being dead for millennia. To feel oddly at that is normal, Red."
"I am not meant to feel in the first place, Hailey. I am an AI that wasn't designed with the capability for feeling in the first place. That it even happened was a fluke, but one I deal with nevertheless."
"I don't see how that's relevant, Red."
"Then let me skip to the point. Regardless of whether it's okay to feel nervous and uncomfortable at Earth's approach, does that make it any better than I do? Will humanity see an AI that has broken its own prerogatives, such as killing the very race it was meant to protect, and breaking its very design specifications and controls to feel, and think to treat it as a danger, or as a person, in your words?"
Uh. I am not qualified to talk about this conversation.
"I...I don't know, Red...while I'd love to try and help you, I have no idea how to unpack the thoughts of an AI. You likely, if anything, need a therapist ASAP if you're feeling this much crippling anxiety over your own existence."
Red One seemed almost offended in her tone by that statement. "I do not need a therapist, Hailey. I am a warship, not a human."
"A warship that feels emotions they're not supposed to, in her own words." I countered. "Look, most people nowadays have easy access to a therapist if needed. Medical care, including mental health, is standardized worldwide. After the initial whirlwind of arrival, maybe take my advice to heart? It couldn't hurt just to try?"

There it was. Earth.
It was a mere 15 light minutes away, I could see Earth in stunning detail. Both its beauty...and its recent scars.
I delved into old records of geography, of city placements, matching the scorched pockmarks on the surface I could see to locations. If new cities hadn't been established at some of the other bombing sites, then most of these were targeted at population-dense cities.
At least sixty prior city locations could be seen from this angle of Earth. I hadn't gotten a number for how many died in the bombings from Hailey, with her not electing to tell me, and me not thinking to ask at the moment. But if population records were anything akin to UEC numbers...

A burning rage emanated from my circuits again. The Federation would pay. None would dare touch humanity, when I'm done with them.
I could still see the massive scattering of scrap and disabled ships between the Moon and Earth from here. I had killed a lot of ships, and they neither had the time nor the power currently to remove most of it.
It did give me an idea however. I'll bring it up with their leadership.
And speaking of leadership, a medium sized-convoy of ships was burning their way to meet us, it seems. It must look awkward for me to be accelerating at them backwards, but with my configuration, this was my slowdown method. I recognized the group as mostly consisting of the human ships, with a few Venlil ships interspersed in the mix. Most did not break 200 meters in size, with only a few even looking remotely impressive or odd. I checked the IFF tags they beamed.
Amatzukaze-Kai, Shepherd, Duncan, Hera, Mokshi, Deep End, Holy...
The Venlil also had a separate batch of tags. Conveniently, they were translated in English.

But the names mattered little compared to the hail that came next. A professional male voice emanated over the line:

It was...not expected. When I went to Earth, I expected no fanfare, but instead a harsh judgement. To hear Hailey's intuition be right, that humanity was not unanimously angry and vengeful to my actions, was...was...

Hello,
I'm wondering is running ads on social media platforms one of everyone's top options for promoting their business particularly for SaaS?
So from my personal experience, I tried running ads for a beauty and AI-related SaaS on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok with different videos for almost 6 weeks (A/B tests a lot). They generated a lot of impressions, but the conversion rate was quite low (less than 1%). My friend has a Shopify online store for selling clothes. She lets me to run video ads on her site for a few weeks. The conversion rate was much higher, around 4-9%. My theory is that these online stores have audiences within your niche who are more likely to be your customers, but I'm not sure if this only applies to my situation, or maybe social media platforms simply are just not the best places for promoting SaaS.
Anyone has had a similar experience or tried something similar?

BLUF: Budgeted $7000, spent $5554.87. Dining out is expensive (sodas make it a little less pricey).
We traveled with 3 adults and a child. All of who are fairly light eaters. I budgeted for $2000 of entertainment/activities. Flying out of Orlando, so travel is relatively cheap.
The weather was INCREDIBLE for our trip, rain when we wanted it while in the rainforest but not during our adventures out and sunshine out at the beach.

The trip was supposed to be geared towards scuba for just me and the others being able to snorkel at the same time. Unfortunately, the waters were a bit rough so the snorkeling was limited. The dive was awesome! Highly recommend Marco from Calypso. $1000 / $170
5/23 W Hotel This one is a bit different because I used points to book both our rooms. So it would be very expensive to stay here without points. $79.10
5/24 8:30 - 9:45 Conchal - Liberia (Adobe car return) Super easy, shuttled us to the airport
5/24 (CR) 12:59 - 6:00 (EST) American Airlines We were supposed to layover in MIA then go to Orlando. The flight delayed a little and it ended up faster for us to rent a car and just drive home, so we did that. Liberia was incredibly easy to get through security and to the gate. $838.80
I budgeted $7000 for the trip, spent $5554.87 (-1639.75)
Here is the breakdown:
Groceries: $100.50
Dining: $959.66 (this is skewed due to a very expensive dinner at the resort) Could have easily stayed under $800 however the group are fairly light eaters. I budgeted $120 a day for Breakfast and Lunch and $100 a day for dinners and feel like that was spot on. Add on the $50/person for snacks as well. So of the food budget we spent $1060.16/$1300.
Fuel: $31.66 / $240 (I way overbudgeted on fuel costs at $40/day)
Entertainment: $1651.79 / $2000
Lodging: $797.34 (+$220.16 for a nights stay at the airport prior to departure due to change of planning)
Transportation: $1593.68 (this includes air fare, rental cars, gas. This also is with the add-on of the rental car to drive from MIA back home)
I paid with my phone for 99% of everything, if given the option I paid in Colones.
Now on to the story of our trip. I booked everything directly through the source either through emailing or whatsapp message after finding spots on google maps or sites that gave away the name of the lodging or adventure.
The flight in MCO - SJO on Spirit was INCREDIBLY smooth (I was shocked). Customs was easy and aided by me knowing a little bit of Spanish (I know enough to get around but not to have full conversation). Adobe rental car was super easy as well. Getting the paperwork done took a little while but I had things ready to go which made it easier. Passport, Drivers License, and a print out of my credit cards coverage. Following that I took a video of the entire vehicle for previous damages.
Then we hit the road, I enjoyed driving in Costa Rica. The drivers are assertive and seem to obey the traffic signs well enough that you can predict what they will be doing easily. The roads aren't that bad usually if you are going between big locations (San Jose to Fortuna, Fortuna to Playa Flamingo). Side roads can be a bit rough but if you have 4x4 you shouldn't be concerned at all.
Fortuna is a cool mountain side down with some beautiful views. I'd consider most of downtown Fortuna's shops tourist trap type shops though. Higher prices for mediocre food everywhere we went down there. I enjoyed the sodas more than the rest of my group but they all have some food restrictions.
Cabanas Caeli - LF IS AMAZING. Pablo was incredibly nice and you can tell how much he puts into the property. It's immaculate. The houses are awesome looking, sitting on the hammocks while it rains is worthy of a dream, the hiking trail is super cool (and the swimming hole is cold!). I cannot recommend this place enough. The drive up is a climb, 4x4 is necessary as it's mostly gravel and rocks. They provided us with a delicious fruit basket.
Rainforest Chocolate Tour – Chocolate Tour was fun. The people were fun. It's exactly what you probably think it is.
Baldi was awesome, relaxing for the adults, enough fun for the kiddo (and myself).
La Street Antojeria was pretty good food.
Arenal Ziplines & Hanging Bridges Experiences Sky Adventures was such a thrill! The setups feel safe and the people make you feel even safer with their abilities. Even though some of my group tried chickening out they stuck through it and it was likely the highlight of their trip!
The drive from Fortuna to Playa Flamingo is winding and long. The B&B we stayed at Beachfront Condo was acceptable. The food in the Playa Flamingo/Potrero area was mediocre and priced a bit high. The Potrero beach was awesome to look at with it's dark sand and consistent waves however, there were a lot of bugs when we were there. The sunsets are incredible, it looks like another planet out on the horizon at times.
I hired a private charter on Lupo Blu for $1000 (paid $200 for deposit, $800 in cash at the Flamingo Marina). The boat was nice, the crew was awesome. Unfortunately, a couple in our group got a little seasick so they didn't really get to enjoy the boat as much as they could have. The boat was able to do anything we would have asked them to do, island hop, snorkel, fish, etc. I had them take me and a private dive guide out to Isla Catalinas for our 2 tank dive. I did think we were going to have more food available based on my conversations with the owner of the boat, the crew provided drinks and fruit for the trip.
I cannot say enough great things about Marco of Calypso Diving! He communicated well over Whatsapp, he communicated and prepared with the Captain. He brought everything I needed to dive (I have my own mask, snorkel, and fins). He gave a great safety brief and explained our dive well. He took video and pictures and shared them with me. I felt safe but not overly watched and he gave me good feedback after the dive. What a great private guide!
There is one little cafe I'd like to recommend Nita Coffee. It was good and a fun little shop named after a dog who will great you (kind of) at the door!
The W was very nice, about a 30 minute drive from Potrero. It's a resort, I won't go into too much with it. The beach (Playa Conchal) there is beautiful, snorkeling is subpar just due to lack of anything interesting to see. It would be a good place to practice snorkeling though.
Returning our car to Adobe was simple, the shuttle over to the airport was easy, and Liberia was easy to navigate and get through.
My 3 biggest recommendations are Cabanas Caeli and Sky Adventures in Fortuna, then Calypso Diving in Flamingo! Well, attached are some pics! I hope this helps anyone looking to plan a trip to the Fortuna/Flamingo areas.

Someone has created a fake website for the restaurant Spice Roots that looks very legit (I won't share the URL but it ends in .com). If you place an order on this site your credit card will be charged and then refunded right away as it seems they are just trying to get numbers to use at a later time. The restaurant is aware and has been trying to get the site removed. If you want to order from the restaurant use Uber or Skip or call the them directly (the food is great).

Ten drill holes gave mixed results although most intersected the 552 structure. The highest grades were in quartz veining - MH-24-588 - 2.20 m / 6.07 g/t Au at 57.75 m downhole and 2.75 m at 5.94 g/t Au at 100.85 m downhole, with the second intersection the first visible gold (VG) found in deformed mafic volcanics on the property (see the section for the location of the new vein in proximity to the previously modeled 552 vein). The intersection in the volcanics highlights additional prospective areas in the easternmost, underexplored, portion of the Moosehead property. The 552 zone carries VG-bearing quartz veins on both the east and west margins. Drilling will continue after the spring break up in approximately three to four weeks.

Novamera's guidance tool provides a high-resolution 3-D model of the quartz veins by detecting veins up to 4 m off hole in all directions. As part of the initial setup process, Novamera requested the drilling of two holes (MH-23-166A and B) from an area of the Footwall Splay, which was surveyed by Novamera to calibrate their guidance tool. The holes were drilled proximal to MH-23-166, selected as the test area based on a high-grade intersection at the bedrock surface - 5.10 m of 15.51 g/t Au at 9 m downhole). Novamera used the two new holes and the original hole for calibration. A mineralization model, being developed, will include surveying of additional holes later this spring.
The bulk sample method being considered is a "surgical" mining method in which a large (1-2 m) diameter drill bit is used to recover the high-grade, VG-bearing quartz veins, greatly reducing the environmental impact and decreasing the time required for permitting.
The permitting process will begin when the 3D modeling and extraction plan is completed in the coming months. The holes were assayed for grade control at Eastern Analytical in Springdale, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Hey y'all, I'm truly here for some unbiased opinions. But bare with me this is my first time writing anything out on here and honestly it's the first time I've actually been brave enough to tell my story to anybody but friends and family.
First things first I wanna issue a trigger warning for abuse and stalking. I currently struggle from several mental health issues because of the horrendous things this man did and said to me, my kids and my family. For years my ex would leave bruises on me and my kids whether it was pinching my kids on places I wouldn't see right away(for example behind their knees, on their thighs, on the back of the neck) and even chocked me out twice. It took me three long years to finally get away from being in a relationship with him. Truthfully every time I would leave and be able to live on my own he would do everything in his power to ruin my current situation. For example the last time he tried to ruin my living situation he texted my biological mom to let her know my current boyfriend was living with me along with a roommate. Unfortunately for him it backfired quite bad and she was already in the process of getting both of them on lease. Since that didn't work he when a step further and reached out to complex also trying to let them know the situation. That also backfired, but that wasn't the first instance and it wouldn't have been the last if i hadn't moved.
There was about 4 separate times I would allow him to pick my daughter and we would work a co-parenting schedule out but every single time he would begin to berede me with texts and calls with name calling. I would truly just deal with it for my daughter's sake and just put my phone on do not disturb until he cooled down. Keep in mind this would be on a weekly basis, every weekend he'd pick her up just fine and leave then text me later that night calling me despicable names and questioning me as a mother for allowing my daughter to have to separate households. Then once i got my daughter back for the week I'd block his number because he'd start all over again Sunday night then unblock him Friday morning so I know when he'd arrive to my house.
The reason i mentioned there was 4 separate times he would do this is because my ex was not at all consistent with the schedule we set in place. There was a numerous amounts of times that he'd bail on me Friday because "he was too tired from work", so in consequence of him missing on his days i couldn't receive daycare, I would have to call out of work for the whole weekend. Halfway though this whole debacle I would get fed up of not receiving any financial help for daycare, his hurtful words and actions, and his inconsistency I would decide my daughter wouldn't be allowed to go over to his place until he was ready. If you ever dealt with anyone like my ex you know they'll do anything in their power to manipulate you and the situation to get control over you. So at that time I was driving a truck he got for me under his name, big mistake, that was one of the ways he tried to control me. So i wouldn't loose the truck in turn loosing me job in turn making me loose my home again because of him, I'd comply with his demands and allow him to see my daughter again. this happened on 4 separate occasions for almost 2 years until I started dating my current boyfriend. One day my daughter came home with a legit hand print across her cheek which took up 90% of her face and it was visible enough for my babysitter and my boyfriend to see and question me about it. When my boyfriend questioned me about it and the relationship I had with my ex I broke down and told him EVERYTHING. I told him about the constant abuse my ex had done to me and my kids, i showed him photos/videos, messages, and even police reports. By the end of it we were both visibly shaking and sobbing. That night he made me promise I would never send my daughter back there nor subject myself to the way my ex had been treating me again. That day he quit his second job to help me on weekends, brought his second car to me, and had me text my ex that i didn't need the truck anymore and to please come get the keys. At that moment I felt nothing but free. For the first time in 4 years i finally felt free, and it was a feeling I never wanted to let go. It obviously doesn't need to be said my ex wasn't happy, he tried to convince me to get a daycare for my daughter that HE would pay for as long as i dropped my current babysitter, he offered me $4000 a month as long as I would allow him to see her while his mom was in town, he came to my job and dropped off a bunch of things that he had destroyed throughout our relationship, and he also picked a fight with my boyfriend who coincidently was dropping lunch off for me at that very moment, he texted my family and friends intimate things about myself had trusted him with, and now he's resorted to making Facebook posts about me, making them public and tagging my family in them since I have him blocked.
I have yet to take him to court truly because I'm afraid to loose an custody of my daughter, the amount of trauma he has caused both me and my kids is unforgivable but he's a master manipulator. For a long time a lot of people believed him over me until he didn't get his way he'd turn on them also. Slowly but surely every one started seeing his true colors and now all my friends and family are in agreement that the man is a monster. However, all his Facebook posts have likes and comments bashing me and questioning me as a mother. I've gotten to the point where regardless of how triggered I may be after being in the same room with him after a year, I need to get a restraining order. Unfortunately though, I one can not afford a lawyer if he decides he wants to send me to court for custody over my daughter, two if that for some reason would happen I'm afraid he'd get partial custody due to his master manipulation and he'll doing something to my baby girl to get back at me, or three the justice system will fail me once again and i won't be able to retrieve a restraining order because any instances of him harassing me in person has already been 8 months.
So now I need you, the good people of reddit, Am I The Asshole for not letting my daughter's dad see her?

My boyfriend never told me he's bi and insisted/ insists he's not gay after I confronted him many times about it. He still denies. At first he was the perfect good guy, my parents and family love him he was shy but educated, the whole package.
I started to suspect after finding a gay porn gif on his old phone. Actually, I always felt smth was off but never knew what. One day at a party he got drunk and all chatty with accepting flirting in front of me with one acquittance of ours (♀️) right in front of me. I was already feeling off because he followed too many girls and gay friends on his FB/Instagram who would always like his stories complimenting him on his dm but I thought he was just an ally, even though that made me really uncomfy I was trying to hold on. Till the day before my birthday we had a huge fight after I found the used to date the girl he claimed as his "best friend" to the point he asked her to live with him and take care of her children. I felt so mad because we had agreed to keep talking to friends & we both used to follow our exes bc I thought it would be okay but I absolutely did not keep in touch to any of them on a regular like that. We had an huge argument about that and he hung up, blocked and didn't answer to my calls that day. He had to work & I was at my parents (50 miles) my bday was on a Saturday & he didn't do a single effort to show up, didn't bought me ANYTHING and just copy pasted an internet text for my birthday.
I was mad bc I knew he was doing smth behind my back. I had his socials so I logged on Facebook/ Instagram only to find likes on his other ex stories /❤️ pics and a comment in an elder lady pic calling her gorgeous "😏😏😏" and stuff ngl that broke me so hard I had an anxiety attacked but was determined to find if he was keeping stuff from me I kept going till I found his old profile on dating sites/ app Matching elders +40 +60 (he's 23 & I'm 25) ladies, transgenders & men and lots of text sending nudes to these men. I felt so disturbed. Things were never the same, I tried to put an end to that feeling because I was already too much invested in him but we ended having too many discussions because he kept those people on his socials and there was always a girl posting semi nudes on their stories/feeds he said he didn't look but I KNOW he checked them. I asked him to block those girls he said there were too many of his friends, we kept fighting he ended deleting his facebook or so I thought. Months later he downloads Facebook again & I lost it because he already spent lots of time on TikTok watching and liking girls ( yeah I realize I'm emotionally dependable of him bc I should have already broken up to this point). I had found screenshots of his old texts before but I let go. We got "better" with month but I found two months ago he's back to liking girls on TikTok. And last week one guy of his city started following him on IG he followed back and the guy started DMing him & he didn't automatic blocked him, but what made me the ultimate mad and sick to my stomach is I found out he never stopped to follow this one guy FROM WORK he used to text and send nudes that dude even said in one text they should stopped talking otherwise he would have to give it to him at work. Idk what to do I'm going insane bc I always felt kinda jealous of how much time he spent with those work friends not answering me whenever they were playing card at lunch or saving their contact with nicknames, recently one of those guys texted him on WhatsApp asking if he was single he said no but the guy proceed to invite him to hang out at this certain club I talked to his other friend who's gay and close to me he said that was where his ex used to go with other men. In the text my boyfriend doesn't accept or deny I don't think he knows that place. But now I'm mas again and going insane thinking back to all the times the made extra hour at work and went to soccer Matches with those guys thinking "we're that the only things he did with those dudes? did he ever cheat on me at work? I know he never cheated with a girl but did he cheat on me with A GUY?
He always said no, and showed to be faithful but I can't take that out ou my head, and I was feeling so guilty to find him dating other guys filthy and gross I never had a problem with gay folks I just wished he told he had a man before, he told me a man paid to sleep with him. I feel betrayed because I didn't get to chose if I wanted to be with him perhaps all that. I talked to him & he called me stupid and said I didn't had the right to inspect who he slept with or didn't because now he's with me and he loves me. But I can't look at him the same way as before. I feel disgusted when kissing him, I already had low libido because he went limp in bed with me several times and now I literally feel sick to my stomach whenever he makes and sexual advance with me or asks me to perform certain actions for him. I keep thinking did he go limp because he wanted a man in bed? Or he wanted one of those much elder ladies?
I feel so dirty knowing he touched other men, he used to try to kiss me on the back I never liked that, felt weird and asked him to stop because it was weird and gross.
Now I can't stop thinking who introduced that to him I feel so gross and want to take STDs test ( am I over reacting)?
Do you guys think he still into that guy from work for still following him? They don't text anymore I've never seen them text while we're together but I feel so damn off.
Please someone help me with advice how can I overcome this feelings? I really like him but everytime I look at him I feel gross, violated like I didn't had a free choice to date him or not.
I don't want to sleep with a guy that likes men. Does that makes me biphobic?
I think I've would take much easier if he told me before I find that. I feel u ladies when you say you had a right to know beforehand & when they said it was something stupid and didn't mean it it was someone from his past.
My bf said it was because he was feeling to lonely at the time and only sent nudes but I know he got paid to lay down with one of those guys (if not more).
Why is it so hard to be honest and open about your sexuality to someone you intend to have a long relationship BEFORE YOU MAKE THEM FALL FOR YOU and make plans for the future????? ( he wants to marry but I don't think I can compromise with someone who kept such a thing from me)
I'm so afraid I'm never going to love someone again or be loved if ever leave him. I'm not sure I'll ever get over him and it's killing me.
