i feel like i’m failing as mom. me & my child’s father just split & ever since, things have been incredibly difficult. since he left, everything has spiraled out of control. i haven’t had a job since i was 18 but, i do know how to waitress. i’ve been a SAHM since i got pregnant. he took the car, locked me out of the shared account that we had so i have no access to any money, refuses to help me buy food for our son even though my kitchen is practically empty, broke several items in my home before he left & now, i have no idea where he even is.
our sons 4th birthday is friday & not only am i unable to do anything for his birthday, i’m not even able to put a full meal of dinner infront of him because our kitchen is almost empty & his father won’t help me! i moved to VA when i was pregnant to be with him so that we could be a family & he left me here where i don’t know much of anyone or anything. his family is not communicating with me. i don’t have many family i could reach out to & i don’t have any friends. all i have is my aunt & uncle & they’ve already explicitly stated they’re not in a position to help right now.
i’ve talked to some churches & food banks in my area but, the issue is that you need a vehicle or a way of transportation there & i don’t have that! i haven’t been able to find a pantry within walking distance though there are several churches, they just don’t run a pantry out of them. i don’t know what to do. i can’t feed myself or my son, i have no way of celebrating his birthday, we’re running low on tolietries…. everything is just falling apart & i genuinely feel as though i’m failing as a mother 😭
what do i do? i don’t know how to begin to navigate my resources or how to even think right now 😭

I'm planning a trip to Disney World with my family, and I'm looking for some creative and fun ideas for scavenger hunts to keep my kids entertained while waiting in line for various rides. We want to create scavenger hunts for popular rides across the parks.

I've had a limited diet my whole life. Carbs, bread, pasta and pizza and cheese and dairy have been the majority of what I eat since I was little. I've never really been able to eat vegetables unless I force them down, they just taste disgusting. I'm also grossed out by most meats, the only ones I ate growing up were hot dogs and salami. I've never touched seafood and I'm not interested in any. Adding chicken to my diet in my late 20s was a HUGE win for me and opened up more options in restaurants etc. I used to be afraid of not finding anything to eat whenever going out. I like some fruits when they're available, like berries and apples. Anything in the melon family tastes weird and unappetizing to me. My parents say I used to eat more variety but started restricting more the older I got. Don't know what's up with that.
I need to make changes though. My doctor says I've crossed into obese BMI territory and I know it's terrible for me. I hate the way I look. My mother also had a heart attack due to arterial blockage earlier last year and I don't want the same thing to happen to me. But the vast majority of safe foods are high calorie high fat carby stuff. I know I need to eat vegetables but they're so disgusting and unappetizing. And I'm also short at 5'0 so my calories really need to be restricted in order to get to and stay at a healthier weight which fills me with despair. I don't want to be starving myself and forced to eat only vegetables the rest of my life and giving up the foods I actually do like in order to be a healthy weight.
Ranting over, now to the point. Does anyone have tips for making vegetables edible? I just hate that bitter sensation, I'm probably a supertaster and sensitive to bitter foods. Never liked coffee either. I need ways to hide the vegetable flavor so that I can eat them. I don't even know what to start with, maybe broccoli since it's so nutritious? What can I do to them that's still healthy but hides the flavor with something more tolerable? One thing that has worked for me lately is to mix cooked & shredded cauliflower into my rice when I make my homemade chicken tikka masala. The masala sauce is so flavorful it hides the taste of the cauliflower somewhat. Cauli is a more mild tasting vegetable I think so I don't know if this will work for other things. I'm looking for more ideas like that. I also have a dietician appointment in a couple of weeks to make a plan and get some more ideas. Hopefully they can help me. Myrla sat at one of the tables in the food court area of Nantrella Station. The Greylin’s crew had discovered several ships docked with family members on board and this had led to a rather impressively large impromptu family reunion with several dozen kwonese spacers gathered up in one space.
She was sitting slouched over the table, the only human in a sea of furry ratfolk, nursing her drink. It was a chocaf that one of the family from another ship had spiked with something s/he said was an intoxicant that she would enjoy. Myrla wasn’t sure if it was intoxicating, but it did add a pleasant richness to the drink and it warmed her in a way chocaf didn’t normally do.
She was reaching the end of her drink and was starting to wonder if she should try to find the kwonese who had spiked her drink to ask for a second round when she realized some of her crewmates nearby were talking about her. She hadn’t been listening, really, her mind just floating along in the comfortable feel of the “group-snuggle” as they called it, so she wasn’t sure what was going on.
After a few seconds of focusing on the conversation, she realized they were bragging about her. That was when one of them turned to her, dragging her into the conversation.
“Yah, see! This Myrla, she top stevedore, better than ya porter drone!” Nellin, one of the crew-family she had little interaction with other than when it was time to hustle cargo, had grabbed her by the sleeve and was tugging her into a small cluster of kwonese sitting around one of the tables. She only recognized one other face as being part of the Greylin crew. Nellin served as the ship’s load-master and chief stevedore, so she assumed the others in the group likely held similar positions on their own ships.
Myrla hoisted her cup in greeting, a lopsided smile on her face. Then she realized she did know another of the faces in the group – the cousin who had spiked her chocaf. Grinning, she pulled her arm free of Nellin’s grip and pointed to him then to her almost empty cup. “I’m going to need some more of that, cousin.”
This set off titters of laughter around the crew as the kwonese in question hauled out a silver flask from his vest pocket. “Powerful stuff, yah!” He made smacking sounds as he fixed her another chocaf from the table’s dispenser. “Makin’ it on the Yeongja, we do. Best you find.”
She drained her first cup and picked up the second. If it was an intoxicant, it was either incredibly weak or it was so smooth that it would hit her like a sledgehammer later. Either way, it was a delightful pairing with the bitterness of the chocaf. She took a sip of the fresh drink, smiling as the warmth seeped into her. The group shuffled around to make a spot for her to sit.
One of the others, a grizzled older kwonese, looked at her one eyebrow raised. “Nellin say you top stevedore. Say you outwork drone. Been load-master on Yeongja ten year and four more now on /San Matteo/. Not seeing that happen yet.”
She looked over Nellin and raised her cup in his direction. “[Samchun ]()[[MM1]](#_msocom_1) has never voiced displeasure with my work. If he wishes to say I work harder than a cargo drone, that is his choice.”
Her comment brought hoots of laughter from around the table. Out-bragging in a family was something of a sport with the kwonese and diplomatically saying they were boasting without calling them a liar was an integral part of the game, even better if you were doing so in support of them.
“Well-saying, [olinee]()[[MM2]](#_msocom_2) .” The grizzled cargo-chief crinkled his snout and raised his glass at her. “But now chincheog making me curious. Never seeing such a thing not being the same as impossible thing.” He paused to scratch his whiskers. “Not working much with your kind, true, so never seeing how much you can do.” Several of the group lightly slapped the tabletop and looked in her direction.
She glanced down at Nellin, seeing his whiskers twitching. His body language was just like it would be if they were playing cards and he were holding a winning hand, waiting on the pool to grow. Long seconds passed before the one she’d mentally dubbed “Mister Flask” leaned in.
“Let’s make it interesting.”
And there it was. Cred-chips started hitting the table and in moments, crew from all the ships were aware of the betting taking place. She sat, sipping her doctored chocaf, as the kwonese around her seemed to turn into a boiling pool of sleek fur and whiskers. Across the table, “Mister Flask” raised his cup to her … and winked.
She grinned back at him, returning the gesture. Now what was that all about?
One of the twins – probably Mikkeulon, from the scent – saw the exchange and leaned close to her. “Oh-ho! You catching Peulla’s eye, then! Good choice, but he wild.”
Myrla sputtered into her cup, but before she could say anything, the twin was gone. Then Nellin leaned in close. “You got this, girlee. Seen you move more easy. Just be going slow and easy and Greylin family got drinks for all station-time, ya.”
Myrla smiled to herself, shaking her head. The cargo-master may have said the Greylin’s crew would have all their drinks covered during their port-time, but given the kwonese need for these family get-togethers, “hajog-poog” they called them, every kwonese on the station would be regular visitors to the Greylin. The betting was just the method they used to pick which ship the party was held on.

It wasn’t long before the entire party had relocated to the docks where San Matteo was set to disgorge its cargo. The grizzled cargo-master, who Myrla now knew to be named Tostiklin, had one of the enormous cargo bays set up for the impromptu competition. She’d sent Orak off to the /Greylin/ to retrieve her backpack, leading to a humorous scene as the young kwonese came running into the docking area dragging the pack that was easily as large as he was. She stripped away the actual pack and her possessions that it held, leaving just the pack-frame. She tasked Orak with perching on the pack itself, to make sure it didn’t get lost in the excitement.
She walked over to the small cluster of cargo-masters and hefted her packframe. “I assume I’m allowed to use a cargo rack, since the drone has one?” She watched as several of them suppressed snickers and Tostiklin wrinkled his snout in amusement.
He waved absently. “Yahyey, of course! Wanting a fair run, we.” He motioned the cargo drone over, which stood almost twice as tall as its crewmates. The crowd settled down to a low murmur as the cargo master addressed the two. “This being the rules. Moving cargo for one minute, as much as you can, ya. No helping from others. No interfering with other stevedore. Move you stack from where it is to indicated position.” He pointed to a pair of chalked squares some thirty feet away from the initial stacks. “Is good?”
The drone’s head rotated from the kwonese to Myrla to the two stacks of cargo containers and back. “I to compete against this gentlebeing? Moving cargo like normal work?”
“Yes, Ledo.”
The drone dipped its head. “Understood but I do not understand why.”
Myrla leaned close to the drone. “They gambling on us. Who can shift more.”
The drone tipped its expressionless face first to one side then to the other while looking at her, a low whir of servos barely audible. Then it looked toward the group of kwonese for a moment. “Oh. Oh. Then … perhaps I should apologize now?”
Myrla grinned. “Apologize for what?”
“I am made to shift significant amounts of cargo. You do not appear to be. I shall apologize now for embarrassing you in front of your shipmates.”
Myrla laughed and patted the drone on its arm. “It’s all in fun, Ledo. I won’t be embarrassed.”
She could detect a faint note of smugness in the mechanical’s speech. “Very well. Then let us proceed.”
“Geebees, are clear on rules?” Myrla and Ledo both indicated their assent. “Then please stand by cargo.”
When they had taken their places, Tostiklin pulled a whistle from his pocket and blew on it. Myrla and Ledo began quickly assembling their loads. Remembering Nellin’s admonition, she carefully restricted her load, adding two containers more to hers than the drone loaded onto itself. It was enough weight to slow her down considerably, but she could still keep up with Ledo without straining.
Together, they dropped their cargo loads inside their assigned squares and Myrla fought the urge to race ahead of the drone, keeping pace with it instead. Twice more the cycle repeated itself, with Myrla carrying just enough extra to stay ahead in the count.
When the whistle blew a second time, the gathered cargo-masters counted the crates in each stack. Tostiklin’s face was a study in surprise as he counted Myrla’s stack again.
He looked at Nellin. “Your stevedore has clearly won. By a mere six crates, but she has won.” The kwonese erupted into cheers and groans, depending on the amount of credits they had won or lost. Tostiklin held up a hand and the crowd quieted down. “But you say she outwork drone. Win by six is much as keep up with drone.”
The crowd inhaled as a whole. /San Matteo/’s cargo chief was treading the fine line of being rude, almost accusing Nellin of lying. The older kwonese narrowed his eyes, looking for at Nellin, then Myrla, then at the crowd. “I like very much to be seeing her truly outwork drone. What is prize money?” One of the younger cargo-masters gave him the figure. “I say offering own creds to match that, double or nothing.”
The crowd went wild, the line of propriety saved. Myrla doubted Nellin had that sort of funds available, based on his change in body language. From behind her, she heard a female kwonese start chanting, “Match! Match!” She and Nellin turned to look, seeing Captain Wanniv shaking her fist in the air. In seconds, all the /Greylin/’s crew was chanting with her.
“Match! Match! Match!”
Nellin looked at her, his nervousness evident, even though things were going exactly like he’d told her they would. She winked at him and gave him a quick nod.
His bearing changed imperceptibly as he turned back to Tostiklin. “Yahyey, chincheog. You be seeing truth.”
Ban Baekui had sidled up beside her, patting her arm. “Time be taking off the governor, ya.”
She nodded absently, her gaze wandering around the room, watching as dozens of groupings indicated the level of betting taking place. “Got your bets made, chief?”
“Already making creds plenty. This to be sheer kwaja!”
She looked down at him, grinning. “The captain plays cards with Nellin, doesn’t she?”
Ban gave her a curious tilt of his head. “Frequently. Why you ask?”
Myrla nodded to herself, looking around again. “She backed him up at the perfect time. This gonna bring some notoriety to the Greylin. And that converts to …” She looked back at the ship’s lead mechanic, grinning broadly.
“Jobs. Bigger and better.” Ban nodded, grinning back. “Not playing cards with you, girlee. Best getting ready, then.”
Ban faded back into the crowd, leaving her with Nellin. “You good with this? Tossi want longer timeframe for this.”
Myrla dropped to one knee, making it so she had to look up slightly at the cargo master. “I need some advice, chief.” Nellin blinked in surprise at the abrupt change in the situation. When he signaled his assent, she continued. “There’s more going on than what I’m seeing. You just used a blood-kin name for him. The captain backed you up publicly under his challenge, so she’s now tied the two of you together, your win is now her win, and your loss her loss. Tostiklin almost called you a liar in front of everyone, but pulled it out by upping the bet.” She scanned the crowd, seeing several non-kwonese beginning to intermingle. “And that is interesting. More geebees are joining the party. And those aren’t spacers.” Her eyes narrowed. “Those are brokers – I recognize two of them.”
Nellin wrung his hands, a faint tang of nervousness coloring his odor. “Is … is complicated.”
“Not from my end, chief. Tostiklin wants to see how hard I can work, because he wants to learn more about my people and is willing to pay for the privilege. And he wants to see me lose to gloat…” She looked at Nellin as he started squirming again. “He doesn’t want me to lose.” She narrowed her eyes in suspicion. “Who is he related to by blood on the Greylin?”
“He brother to captain’s father…” Myrla’s eyes lit up in sudden understanding. “…and is brother to my mother’s mother.”
Myrla’s jaw dropped slightly as several puzzle pieces clicked into place. “He … he doesn’t want us to fail at all. He’s loaning the captain operating money as well as boosting the ship’s reputation.”
Nellin put his hands out to shush her. “Not be saying this!”
The good side of her mouth pulled up in a smile. “Don’t worry, not a word. Plus, by challenging you like this, you gain even more credibility with the family after I smoke that presumptuous cargo drone at his own game. You gain a reputation for understating how good something is.”
“See … is complicated.”
“Chief, go make your personal bets. This run is about to get interesting.”
The next ten minutes was a flurry of action as bets were made and new spectators arrived from stationside. At one point, Peulla drifted by, pressing another cup of that deliciously spiked chocaf into her hand with a wink. Soon, the cargo masters were huddled up again.
Tostiklin had found a voice amplifier somewhere, letting his voice be heard over the noises of the much-larger crowd. “We be setting round two. Nellin, loadmaster of the Greylin Bostlin, say he crewmate outwork cargo drone. We see earlier this geebee do that.” He indicated Myrla and she waved at the crowd, to delighted cheers from more than just her shipmates. “I say she barely beat cargo drone and I ask for a rematch. I offer double to see she truly outwork drone!” The crowd roared excitedly. “I ask to see geebee outwork drone and just minutes not enough. I ask for one whole hour!”
The crowd erupted into a frenzy and Myrla blinked in confusion. Nobody mentioned hauling cargo for an hour, she thought.
Captain Wanniv had slipped up beside her. “Just another day on the docks, ya?”
Turning to the captain with a smile, she said, “Using my own words against me as inspiration? I’m … well, I don’t guess I’m shocked. And yes, I’m good for it.”
“Is good. All this good.”
Myrla gave the captain a wink. “I love how they brought in some of the local cargo brokers and the Dockworker’s Guild to watch. San Matteo is a respected crew. To see them give the Greylin respect will carry weight later.”
The captain’s eyes crinkled. “I have no idea what you mean.”
Finally, the crowd calmed down again. Siezing the moment, Myrla stepped forward to address the Matteo’s cargo-master. “Samchun, it seems to me that all of our competition is being done handling cargo from the San Matteo. If we are unloading cargo, then am I working for you? And, if I am working, then as a member of the Stevedore and Dockworker’s Guild, I have to be paid or I lose my license. And I cannot bet on myself.”
The crowd fell to a dead silence as Tostiklin’s eyebrows rose slowly, first one then the other.
“FAIR!” Someone in the crowd shouted.
Tostiklin glanced in the direction of the speaker and turned back to Myrla, nodding slowly. “Wisdom speaks.” A grin slowly spread across his face. “I will pay you one hour with a bonus in proportional to how well you outwork the drone.”
Myrla nodded. “I accept these terms and your grace in offering them.” This brought a round of applause from the crowd.
“Again! This being the rules! Moving cargo for one hour, as much as you can, ya. No helping from others. No interfering with other stevedore. Move you stack from where it is to indicated platform.” He pointed to a pair of conveyor platforms some thirty feet away from the initial stacks. “Is good?”
Both workers gave their assent.
“Geebees, to your starting places!” Again, a blast from the whistle signaled the start of the competition. Both fell to their task and worked steadily, but Myrla thought it looked as though the drone knew it had already been beaten. For every stack of crates it moved, she moved twice as many. When it tried to match her volume, its speed dropped off significantly to the sound of overloaded drive motors.
They were well and thoroughly inside the cargo bay of the /San Matteo/ and the crowd was only able to keep up by watching on a series of holoscreens that had been set up for the purpose. True to Bae’s request, she “pulled the governors off,” falling into her work-trance, letting the crates guide her flow. The conveyor platforms advanced with them, never more than thirty feet away, making the job a bit less arduous. The cargo-master group was inside with them, as well, and Myrla shut them out by treating them like she did any other client who hung out to watch her work.
She was so deep into her work that the whistle caught her by surprise and Nellin had to physically intervene to get her attention.
“Is good, girlee. We done it. YOU done it.”
Myrla walked out of the cargo hold, blinking and shaking her head, trying to get refocused on where she was. Then she realized the entire hajog was chanting her name. Bae and Wanniv were waiting on her at the bay-door. Bae handed her a bottle of water and Wanniv grabbed Myrla’s free hand in both of hers. “You best lucky charm!” As the crowd caught sight of her, the chant broke into a wordless cheer that threatened to overwhelm her.
Finally, the cargo-masters made their counts and conferred together with a lot of nodding and one shaking their head incredulously. Tostiklin motioned her and the cargo drone forward to join them.
“Thinking it clear who wins.” He broke off with a grin as the crowd erupted into cheers again. He tried to continue twice before the cheering died down enough to let him be heard. “Seeing you never slowed down, girlee. Thinking maybe you having another gear or two.”
Smiling, Myrla shrugged as the crowd went wild again.
“And!” He held up a pouch for everyone to see. “And, here is your payment. One hour’s wage for a class five stevedore. And since you performed double what the drone performed, your wages are doubled.”
Again, the crowd roared and she fought to keep the surprise off her face. She was a class one stevedore and class five rates were significantly higher than she was used to getting. As she accepted the pouch from him, she leaned in to be heard above the crowd. “You are a wise and honorable gentlebeing, Samchun. May your words echo among many gajog.”
That got her an extra cheer from the cargo-chiefs and a pat on the cheek from a grinning Tostiklin. “You taking good-good care of the Greylin crew, then. So, let’s be drinking to this!”

hi, my budgie laid an egg today and I have no idea how to take care of it. when I adopted them, they have always been on an all seed diet and I'm not sure how to change their diet to be more healthy specially for when the egg hatches..and I don't know what kind of food to provide when the baby is here,, any kind of tips would be appreciated!

I am currently looking for a fulltime job and out of the 30 or so places I applied to 2 have asked for interviews. Both seem interested in hiring me but I haven't done the final interview with either yet. One is a commissions based sales job and the other is a cook for a fast food place. My idea is to use the fast food place as a backup in case the sales job doesn't choose me. How could I tell them that if they hire me before I hear back from the other job? I was going to say something like "I appreciate the offer but I am waiting to hear back from another position I'm interviewing for before I make a decision" but I'd like advice.

I live in Kitchener, close to fairview mall. I’m looking for a new job that will actually give me the hours I need 😭I’ve been working at a grocery store here in Kitchener (not gunna name it cause i’m paranoid) since August 2022. I used to work 15-30 hours a week when i first started, even during highschool (grade 12, currently gap year). Now on my gap year I get like ZERO hours. 1 shift a week, 6.5hrs a week. I just don’t get it at all and other coworkers get more and they’re all new and I’ve been working here longer then them and basically trained them too😔 anyways i need help finding a job. I’ve had a couple interviews from indeed but they all didn’t go well so 😆anyways i’m trying to save for a car and save for school coming up in september and i have no idea how imma get the money. I will work at any fast food restaurants (except mcdonald’s cause i worked there before), retail, yardwork (i have experience in landscaping!), warehouse jobs, etc. I will work as many jobs as i need to!
I also make art and want to sell some of my pieces so if anyone know where i can put out my art in Kitchener?!

I've posted in here before and it didn't go anywhere but I have nowhere else to try. I'm sure you can look at my post history and get a pretty good idea of what my life is like. But to make a long story short, we ran away from an abusive family member in December and were staying in hotels and airbnbs. We finally secured a place Mar 1st, but moved in and got sick from mold. I'm disabled but my fiance works, and his boss at the same time ghosted him and stopped paying him. We've since sorted that out and those checks are on the way, but they won't be here in time to keep us in our rental. We had an unlawful retainer case last week, and we appealed it because of issues in the apartment, but we can't afford the appeal bond of what we owe, which is $4176. If we can post the bond by tomorrow, we get a court date against our landlord and will be getting money back from the months we paid full price and got sick from mold. The money that we have coming in will not be here for another 3 weeks, and his paychecks from his new job will cover rent here but won't catch us up fast enough. If we cannot post our appeal bond, we automatically lose and the VA court will refuse to hear our arguments for why we couldn't pay rent and deserve assistance.
We have no car to get a lien put against for a loan, and not enough credit history to get approved for a loan without a cosigner. We've tried asking people we know, nobody around us has any extra to even help with food. I've even been trying loans on Reddit but have only gotten scammed.
I highly doubt anybody on here would be willing or able to pay the court for us, but if somebody were to be able to they can pay the court directly, instead of us. The other option is a hotel which will cost about $2000 for a month, the same as our rent.
I guess I'm just really hopeful the right person will see this and will be able to help us.

Bloodwork done, checked the hormones and everything seems fine, I also cannot figure out if there is certain foods that triggers my hs - I can have the cleanest diet ever and still get such bad flare ups :( Any ideas what I could do to at least be aware of what’s causing my torture? 😔

I had every perk by then and I played till my fifth NG+, cleared out the Orc Horde on Impossible then stopped for about a year before coming back with the new wave of updates - I've obtained every encounter-related achievement now and my achievement completion is at 97%, while my NG+ bonus is +1311% caps and +131,1% all resources.
These are my thoughts on what prestiges (or "legacy perks") are the best.
S Tier:

• Architecture of Titans - This building singlehandedly takes care of your wood and stone needs - including caps! - and also provides a dramatic output of tools, copper and iron. It's completely worth the 60 fame and a satisfying reward for beating one of the lategame bosses.
  
• Ministry of Interior - Like the Titan Work Area, but for gold and research. And it comes with extra population and supplies, as well as crystals indirectly through the extra professors. Only caveat is that it costs materials and supplies to build.
  
• Guild of Craftsmen - A must for the earlygame when the production of tier 2 resources is directly competing with your tier 1. It will fall off for the individual tier 2 buildings later on but it's still the first building you want to go for whenever you unlock the feudal age.
  
• Craftsmen - Tier 2 resources will be one of your main bottlenecks throughout the game, and these perks provide bigger and bigger boosts to them. After Craftsmen III it stops boosting tier 2 to instead boost natronite and saltpeter, which is less crucial to have.
  
• Shopkeepers and Breeders - This boosts tools, cows and horses. While the latter two are nice to have for extra money at the market in a pinch, it's tool production that puts this perk above other resource multipliers like Enhanced Axes and Irrigation Techniques. Tools will be a recurring bottleneck from the early game all the way to the lategame, and it's always a good idea to get more.
  
• Deep Pockets - We're here to remind you about possibly life's greatest joy of all: MONEY!
  

A Tier:

• Machines of Gods - Like a lite version of Titan Workshop focusing exclusively on tools, copper and iron. It's unlocked later and is less cost efficient, but certainly helps.
  
• Powered Weapons - This buffs your units starting from primitive spearmen all the way to artillery and line infantry. The early perks are the most important to get as they make your cheap, easy to spam units all the more effective.
  
• Enhanced Axes, Irrigation Techniques, Renowned Stonemasons - These are the best way to boost your base resources until you can afford deep runs and beat the Sleeping Titan. Worth noting that Enhanced Axes and Renowned Stonemasons lead to Woodworking and Stonemasons, whereas Grain Storage is already unlocked at the start.
  
• Regional Market - MONEY! You can think of these as a second bank. Probably the best use for your first coin.
  
• Resource Caps - These are vital for early afk play. This line starts weak but gets stronger and stronger. It synergizes greatly with the NG+ plus bonus, though said bonus also means you can just take the boosted caps from base buildings and make do without this perk. Though it should remain very relevant in your first few NG+ runs.
  
• Ministry of War, Ministry of Worship - Both of these greatly simplify core aspects of the game, army and magic respectively, with extra army cap, food cap, faith and mana. Ministry of War turns arquebusiers into one of the best units in the game, and Ministry of Worship grants extra lucky stones, and both of them come with extra jobs and population. The reason they aren't S tier is that in the lategame you can get enough army cap to clear every encounter (at least on normal) and enough mana to have all spells turned on even without these ministries, whereas the extra research and gold always stays paramount.
  
• Clever Villagers - The thing with research output is that it's not your main limiter until it is. When you have the other resources' production down, make sure to not neglect this perk.
  
• Library of Theresmore - This provides a nice boost to most ancient era resources. With 5 of these libraries you have a +10% bonus, which would've cost way more in fame if you were getting all the various Enhanced Axes, Deep Pockets, Strengthening Faith, etc. and you can comfortably afford up to 10 libraries.
  
• Monastic Orders - I agree with u/AGDude's description that "all of the boosts it provides make life just a little bit easier". It also has a lenient price scaling.
  
• Strengthening Faith - This lets you produce more mana and faith which lets you unlock spells faster. Affording an extra spell can be as good as affording an extra perk, or better. It's also a must if you like using Battle Angels or rely on Zenix Familiars.
  

B tier:

• Zenix Familiar - These are cheap, immortal scouts who cannot discover new nations and run on mana rather than gold or supplies. And they give you research. The fact they cannot discover civilizations may seem like a drawback at first, but it also means no splash screen will pop up and block your autoclicker if you've left that on the explore button (there's some exceptions, like the Forest of Markanat and the Demoness Castle).
  
• Hall of Wisdom - More or less like an extra school. Handy although Machines of Gods is a better use for your first Tome of Wisdom.
  
• Stock Resources - These are the equivalent of a few houses, farms and lumberjacks for free at start, which is an appreciated boost.
  
• Gift of Nature, Gift of the Creators - Also a small initial boost, this time in direct production. Lets you get a few buildings up faster.
  
• Rampart - Another good use for a coin. It's like a second wall that costs more but gives you extra fame every run.
  
• Enhanced Pickaxes - I find copper to never be a bottleneck and for iron to very rarely be, but it's handy to invest some points into these, especially if your army strategy is to spam warriors and heavy warriors.
  
• Fortune Teller, Soothsayer, etc. (Lucky Stone perks) - Nice to have, particularly if your strategy relies on getting that extra upgrade from luck buildings.
  
• Ancient Vault - A multi-purpose storage which unlike the rest of the category also raises your gold, research, faith and mana cap. Building 14 of them is fairly affordable and equals getting Ancient Treasury I and II + Service to Gods I and II.
  
• Ancient Treasury - Extra gold cap can be hard to come by in the early game. That said you will mainly rely on vaults and natronite buildings to get the cap high enough for the coin.
  
• Grain Storage, Stonemason, Woodworking - Grain Storage is good in the very early game where every bit of extra food counts - whether it's to send out more attacks, or to free up one worker from food production to something else. I find Stonemason and Woodworking to not be worth bothering with, as at my current NG+ level I can reach Architecture of Titans in fewer runs than it takes to unlock them, but they aren't bad per se.
  
• Elysian Field - This helps militarily even if you don't rely on Battle Angels. It's one of the few ways to significantly raise the food cap, and more stockpiled food means you can send the army out to attack more times per sitting. Besides that they have a niche use in getting the achievement for 15 Altars of Sacrifices, but that's very late game.
  
• Titanic Walls - These walls give you extra fame and - surprisingly - tier 2 resources. But due to how costly they are it's less of a "I must get this immediately" and more of a "When I'm already swimming in tier 2 resouces and fame, I can build these to get even more"
  
• Militia Recruitment - Like a second, more cost-efficient barracks with some added settlement defense.
  
• Free Hands - An average pick, not as good as others. You're better off boosting population through the various buildings you unlock progressing the game.
  
• Army of Men - Also average. The late perks are very powerful and they can help squeeze in just enough soldiers for a tough lategame boss on higher difficulties, but most encounters do not come down to ten extra soldiers and even when they do it's usually a problem of recruitment cost and upkeep rather than army caps.
  
• Battle Angel, Seraphim - Some people swear by them but I don't use these much as early game I have other uses for faith and mana and lategame they fall behind other units. It's pretty fun to summon a battle angel just to clear a cellar full of rats, though.
  

C tier:

• Monument, Heirlooms - A basically-free building at start with some minor assorted bonuses. The bonuses aren't very impactful, despite being costlier than Stock Resources and Gift of Nature, but I like to get one every reset because they need to be unlocked one at a time, so I can have the full collection when it's time for the next NG+.
  
• Service to Gods - Extra faith and mana cap doesn't do much besides affording you an extra level of the Fortune Grove (but you can just get the Fortune Teller line). It's pretty satisfying to clear the Mausoleum of Gods in one, two clicks on faith and mana though.
  
• Charism - I haven't done the actual math and whether at some point a boost to fame might be more efficient than getting the other perks to achieve faster runs, but I only grab this perk when I have fame to spare or have already bought the higher tiers.
  
• Hall of the Dead - Extra population would be handy but this building scales terribly, especially in the tool cost. It's worth to build a few, but you get far more value out of ministries, where population isn't even the main selling point.
  
• Undead Herds - Unless you like cavalry or are trying to get the 15 Altars of Sacrifices achievement, this is not that useful besides for freeing up some workers from the breeder job.
  
• Strong Workers - I hardly ever bother with resource clicking beyond my very first run. There may be some strats that involve building up a stockpile of stone, wood and food during the ancient era before researching feudalism (which removes the buttons), but in my experience in Theresmore the best use for an autoclicker is clicking 15 times on the wall button until it's built.
  
• Spikes and Pits - Uuuuh... neat to have? The best way to deal with enemy nations is by taking them out before they can even attack, and building an army strong enough to pass the age bosses is best done through the other perks. The later upgrades cost relics and buff the Juggernaut.
  
• Shieldbearer, Priest, Juggernaut, Ancient Balor - I never use tanks as the unit's purpose seems sorta defeated. They are meant to be low-attack, high defense frontliners but they are weak to shock which is the most damaging unit type and is very common amongst encounters. Shoutout to Ancient Balor for producing steel and helping me clear out the Orc Horde Assault on Deity, and Religious Colony-boosted Priests are hilarious.
  
• Coin Mercenary, White Company- Mercenaries cost only gold and die before the rest of the shock units. Canava Guard are slightly tankier (but still shock) mercenaries, White Company are offense-focused ranged units. They can accrue a respectable amount of boosts if you get all the Mercenary Agreements perks, but there are better uses for your gold, coins and fame. With that said, if you have Coin Mercenary and White Company you unlock the perk to recruit Cpt Gallard (who gives you gold) and after that you get another perk which unlocks a questline with a new building and new encounters.
  

D Tier:

• Mercenary Agreements - I just don't bother with these unless I'm trying to 100% the perk list. Mercenaries are simply too costly for me to consider.

F tier:

• Weapons of the Titan - Compared to the other titans upgrades it's a complete waste of 60 fame points. The units it boosts aren't my cup of tea for the endgame, either, as crossbowmen and heavy infantry outclass arquebusiers and men at arms once you defeat Nikharul and rebuild the fortress.

Hey folks,
I live in a UK city where like everywhere else at the moment food markets and street food are a big deal. We've got one in our local park every other Saturday, and now there's another in a nearby park every alternative Saturday.
I enjoy going and trying the food, but I've noticed it's always the same vendors and the same dishes. Even at other events around the city, it's the same faces. To the point where we don't go as often now as we've tried everything.
I'm not a professional chef, but I've got a passion for cooking. Both my parents were chefs, and grew up working in kitchens.
So, I've got this idea for a food truck on the side The concept is straightforward: one price, one dish, but the dish changes every time we're out. (I could sometimes adapt the one dish to have veggy option).
I'd focus on quality, with dishes I like cooking at home for friends and family who often say I could easily sell it. I was at a festival last weekend and 15 made pizzas for my friends at the campsite, we had too many left oven so gave some away and had a lot of similar positive feedback. (better than person selling Pizza :)
I like cooking everything, mainly I try to think of new things I haven't done before. I don't have "speciality dish" so don't want to go down the branded pizza, burger or taco route. But on any given event might a burger or a taco ect.
It's only a sideline to try something different, see if I enjoy it. I'm not doing it try and make real money.
What do you all think? Any suggestions or thoughts?

I know it may be messed up, but I was severely cheated on by my son’s father. I still have feelings for him yes but. My ex has resurfaced a lot of memories and feelings I have for him still in the back of my mind. I’ve thought about him a lot lately. He contacted me recently, I visited him and his family about a year ago before work started picking up. And he went back to school. When I saw him last time, I had a lot of butterflies, and sentimental feelings that are deeper than I thought. We talked and he arranged and came up with an idea for us to have a casual relationship. I don’t know how I feel about it because I’m a huge romantic. I appreciate commitment more. I live with my son’s father, and things are hard because he hasn’t fully been financially stable to help with the kids. I provide for almost everything and he does cook, clean and help with the kids. Provides food here and there. A little bit of funds for bills here and there. But primarily I provide food, take care of rent, pay the utilities, my own personal necessities and for the kids necessities such as diapers, wipes, clothes, shoes, milk, etc. I work full time, as a full time stay at home mom as well. Barely going anywhere and always at home with the kids and just work. Sometimes I just feel sucked out. I’ve worked hard to go places without anxieties with the kids. I just I get he’s a stay at home dad, and also has to help his family with their matters. He’s exhausted. But I don’t think he truly gets my exhaustion. Again he helps. But my feelings especially after him cheating have just not been the same and I feel like I’ve been forcing those feelings to stay but they sway elsewhere from betrayal. And I feel I’m searching for that sentimental soft love… And that’s what my ex provided. I’m still attracted to him, we stopped being together due to being too busy in college together. I also ended up moving not by my choice I was living with my mom. Where do I go from here?

I’m running my first campaign using Candlekeep Mysteries but my players have decided to jolly to Balder’s Gate on the way to source books to enable them to get in. I’m a very baby DM and now have to do a chunk of homebrew before we get into the module. I’m scared.
So far we’ve met a group of Paladin’s outside of Fort Morninglord and had an encounter with some bandits. I’m planning a dungeon but it won’t be ready for a few weeks and don’t want to run it too soon.
Any ideas for encounters and story elements that I could prepare for them? They only need a couple of rare books and some food before they can be on their merry way.

I’m (22f) 5’6 and have been between 200 and 206 for the last 2, 3 weeks while on a calorie deficit. Before that I lost a steady amount, my initial weight was 220. I have no idea why I’m not losing (and even gaining) since I’m tracking strictly and eating a lot of frozen meals, which aren’t the healthiest I know but I like them because of the easy to log calorie counts. I also do high intensity walk/ run intervals for like half an hour each day too (trying to build up to run a 5k, making great progress!)
I’m going to include an example of my food logs from yesterday, if anyone can tell me where I may be going wrong here I’d appreciate it! I know this isn’t healthy food btw, I’m just trying to get my calories nailed down starting out and then will make healthier food choices going forward (if I do too much at once it’s hard to stick to it). Also I have a food scale I use too so counts should be accurate. Thanks!

Breakfast/ lunch: 740. (Cantina chicken bowl from Taco Bell, one Cinnabon delight, naval orange)
Dinner: 430 (red baron single serve mini pizza)
Snacks: 119 (100g blackberries and 1.5 cups of skinny pop popcorn)
(Don’t usually skip breakfast or eat out, but it was a late morning lol)

I have the good fortune to be planning a two week vacation in Guatemala... for two weeks from now. I'll be travelling with my husband and our two kids (3 and 7).
I'm leaning into renting a car from GUA, returning the car when we arrive at Antigua, and taking a taxi/shuttle to GUA at the end. What are the pros and cons?

Small details:

• this is our second trip to Guatemala.
  
• We rented a car in and around Flores/Tikal last time and did just fine driving around. We've travelled around a good deal in all types of places and typically rent a car just for our own luxury/convenience.
  
• 7 year old gets car sick easily (so stopping/going at our own pace/not inconveniencing others is a huge plus)
  
• 3 year old has some food allergies and mild asthma... so again, kinda just nice to be in control of our own destiny/environment somewhat...
  
• When road tripping we like to "stop and smell the roses" whenever we want.
  

Questions are:

• What KIND of car should we get (like how bad are the roads to/around the lake?) Sedan, SUV, etc?
  
• How long does it ACTUALLY take to drive to the lake from the city?
  
• Is this a stupid idea?
  

The idea is for that food to be something that's commonly enjoyed, that isn't overwhelmingly hated by everyone who's had it. So if you hare surströmming, yeah, that's kind of obvious so it kinda goes against what the philosophy of my question is.

I can forgive my mom for almost everything. She was a single, immigrant mom struggling with undiagnosed adhd and social anxiety and burnout from it. I can forgive her the emotional neglect, leaving me to fend for myself for dinners (we always had food, but we never had family dinners and I’d usually heat up my own since age 9/10), not participating in the pta, disciplining me the best she knew how even though it wasn’t effective, not looking at my homework or even asking anything except for report cards.
I can forgive everything and understand everything except for her not showing up for me when I needed her to. She didn’t go to most of my dance events. She didn’t go to take pictures of me before prom, even though I told her all the other parents would be going and I all but begged her to go. She didn’t show up for contests or performances or most games.
Now, as a mom, I recognize my own privileges and challenges. I have more advantages than she did and more knowledge and resources, too.
I also have her social anxiety and awkwardness. And I have her adhd.
But I have never seen a school or other event or play date or even birthday party that I wanted to skip. I want to see my children everywhere. I want to see their faces when they see me, proud, looking at them. I want them to see me looking at them playing on the playground. I want to bring flowers to their performances and show up for them.
Even now, I can’t understand why she doesn’t want to visit her grandchildren more. I know it’s difficult for her socially, but she hasn’t visited in over two years. We visit her a few times a year and she doesn’t even join us for all of the things we do when we’re there.
I can understand and forgive almost everything. I can imagine being a similar parent to the one she was if I was under her same constraints. But I cannot for the life of me imagine not wanting to participate in my children’s lives and consistently letting them go through major events without seeing a proud parent watching them, especially if I knew other kids had their parents there. The idea of me missing anything and one of my kids looking out into an audience or bleachers with only their friends’ parents there is appalling to me.
To be honest, I don’t remember being too upset about it as a kid. We weren’t super bonded, and I knew she was busy and worked late (she was a nurse), so she was tired often. I am just so embarrassed and ashamed on her behalf. And I am so horrified at the image of doing something like that to either of my kids.

I really need some advice at the moment and I'm at a total loss, l've got a Yorkshire terrier and she's 14 years old and she's my absolute baby! I've owned her since I was 9 years old A couple of days ago I had to rush to the vets after fainting, coughing, non stop panting, foaming at the mouth ect and they kept her in over night We know she's had a collapsing trachea for a while but it got bad so suddenly, only the other month we went to the vets just because she was snoring, now we're here She's been given prednicare (also known as prednisolone) and libeo flav and we'll see how she gets along with it there may be a chance of the vet prescribing codine as a muscle relaxant if it gets bad I'm wondering if we can try cbd for the anti inflammatory, bronchodilator and muscle relaxating properties it has to offer Has anyone any advice on dosing, drug interactions side effects etc? Shes 3.7 kg Currently looking for ways we can help her best We have stopped taking on her walks until we get a harness, throat massages, nebulisers, weight management, making sure she's in the back garden often for fresh air, lifting her food bowls onto something so she doesn't have to strain her neck, reducing and avoiding stressful environments If anyone has any other ideas that would be amazing I just want my girl to be okay as it's tore me apart the past few days
