We met on discord on a server about a year ago. We then started becoming close after 3 weeks talking which we discovered that we had a lot in common, even with our birth dates and preferences. and after that period, he confessed to me to which I became overjoyed and accepted. We barely knew each other atp, just throwing playful and flirtatious comments. During the time that we've dated, I've been trying my best to get to know more of him, asking how he's been and just treating him like any girlfriend would. I'd call him petnames and express my love for him through texting. The only flaw is that it takes a while for him to reply back (and I mean hours). It might be because of the time difference (11hrs) since we're both literally on different sides of the continent but to honest, I don't even know either because sometimes it's morning on his side and he won't even come to reply to his texts. Throughout the 2 weeks we've been dating, it's been like this. I'm always the one who sends the first text and waiting for him to reply a few hours later. But the texting between us is just the same, fun and flirtatious. We'd talk for hours on end. Not only that, he's also a caring boyfriend as well, always telling me to take care of myself and expressing his concerns about me. It makes me doubt myself. It made me think that maybe he's just busy with his life and I should give him some space to himself. I figured that I shouldn't act too clingy since this is also my first time getting into a relationship and I might be a bit naive to what's good and what's not. So I waited for him and endured it until it was time for him to tell me he wants to break up because he thinks that he's a coward and that I deserve someone better. I'm utterly confused when I got this message after waiting for him to text me back for a whole day. I just don't know how to feel about this. One part of me says to keep trying to convince him to change his mind and the other wants to just break things off with him because of how frustrated he makes me feel before. Should I try to convince him?

This is really dumb but I can't help but think about it. My (15f) girlfriend (15f) started sitting next to this girl in class because that's where she was assigned to sit and honestly I feel like she might have a bit of s friend crush or crush on the girl. I tried to tell her how I felt but I don't think she understood or rather she didn't understand how it made me feel. The way I see it is she only sat next to me cause she was lonely and I'm there for that sure but is that really the only reason, not to talk with me or smth. Like even if I did meet someone I was attracted to (a first in 35 years!) and we developed a great relationship, that doesn't mean we'll be good roommates. If by some miracle I find really a great guy, great relationship, AND great roommate, then he can live in our house with us. But I don't see why I'd kick my BFF out/move out myself just because there's someone else.
It's just. The most straight, nuclear family, American thinking to think your household has to be you and the person you're fucking and NO ONE ELSE unless your fucking happened to spawn children in which case it's OK to also live with them.

Hi, I'm a transgender singer, been on testosterone for six months. To be honest, based on my family members and their puberty voice changes, and me being a soprano prior, I thought my voice would drop to a tenor at most. Nothing that would stop me from singing Tamino, Aaron Tveit and such. Instead, it's dropped to a low baritone (i feel most comfortable in bass parts so far), and it seems to have shrunk a good bit. I find it hard to sing along to most popular music on the radio without breaking into falsetto (that I do not know how to control yet) or without making my throat sore. Not that I did not expect it breaking, but the drop has been shocking, in a good way. Thing is, I'm still an active vocalist, trying to write melodies and without enough money or time to take up voice lessons. So, I was wondering if there were any cis men on here (or even better, fellow tm singers) that would have any tips on how to extend your range and do proper warmups during an active voice change?? I'm really excited to work with this new scale but I don't know how to quite grasp it without causing any damage.

I got hit with a 5-year ban at the U.S. border because the officer thought I was trying to reunite with my ex-wife and get a job through her. Just to give some context, I was on a B1/B2 5-year visit visa, living and working in the UK, and this was my first time visiting the U.S. since my divorce.
So, here's the backstory: I got married to a U.S. citizen, and we initially planned to go through the spouse visa process. But unfortunately, things went south because of her infidelity while I was in the UK. We decided to get divorced, and since she’s a lawyer, the whole process was pretty quick. Everything was done over Zoom; I wasn’t even present in court due to some engagements, but it didn’t really matter since all the paperwork was signed and the Zoom court session was just a formality. For reference, we weren’t even married for a year, though we dated for over three years before deciding to tie the knot, hoping to be together.
I moved to the UK for my MSc while waiting for the visa process, but the distance and her infidelity took a toll, and she asked for a divorce, likely to move on with someone new. I didn’t object. We finalized our divorce and went our separate ways. I continued with my MSc program in the UK, and though we were apart, we still had each other’s numbers and stayed in touch occasionally.
Fast forward to me deciding to give the U.S. visit visa a try, and I got it. In our conversations, I mentioned to her that I got the visa and was planning a trip to the U.S. This led to us talking more, and she kept suggesting ways for me to stay in the country, even sending me daily U.S. job applications to apply for from the UK. On the day I was supposed to fly to the U.S., she offered to pick me up from the airport, and I didn’t see any harm in that since I thought we were still good friends despite the divorce.
But things went south at the border. The immigration officer questioned me hard about my visit, took my phone, and saw our conversations. It ended with me getting deported back to the UK and slapped with a 5-year U.S. ban. This whole experience was a massive blow to my mental health. I got seriously depressed, and to top it off, my ex-wife messaged me later saying she was cutting all ties with me and then blocked me.
I haven’t fully recovered from the depression caused by all this. Every time I think about how it all went down, I get really sad. Recently, my ex-wife reached out again to tell me she’s remarried to someone in the U.S. I’m back in the UK, trying to rebuild my life and see what I can do here since I have legal status, but I can’t help feeling down about the whole situation.
My experience at the U.S. border was traumatic; I even spent a night in a holding cell before being sent back. My ex-wife suggested I move on with my life and maybe seek help from communities like this to figure out how to overturn the visa ban.
I’m slowly getting my life back on track, but I really want to overturn the 5-year ban and don’t even know where to start. I’m also considering applying for a Canada PR visa from the UK or even trying the visit visa again, but having this ban hanging over me is really affecting me. I’m feeling depressed and struggling to move forward.

I'm a 27 year old single guy in the final stages of accepting a job offer in SF and could use the perspective of some locals to help narrow down my housing decision.
A bit about me. My office (where I will need to be at least 3 days a week) will be downtown a few blocks from the ferry building. I'm looking for a one bedroom, my budget is $3500-4000. I love to cook, so proximity to grocery stores and markets is a major plus. I prefer to live somewhere chill and commute to the party rather than be "right in the mix". I'd like to be able to walk or hop an easy transit route to work. Perhaps most importantly I don't have much of a network in SF and would really appreciate a neighborhood vibe where it might be easier to meet new people (neighborhood spots with a lot of regulars where you can put a name to a face).

So recently I’ve been having some issues. I’ve consumed a lot of drinks like Coca Cola and other things like that, and I have also been suffering with bruxism. I first realised my bruxism was becoming an issue because my gum swelled up and was very painful. Thankfully after wearing a mouth guard and cleaning regularly for a few days, the swelling and pain went away completely.
I went to brush my teeth a couple of nights ago and noticed my teeth looked very stained yellow which really shocked me. My teeth have also been feeling a little bit sensitive to fluids too. I am missing a front tooth (have done for years since my crown fell out) and I’ve noticed that there is a throbbing there. I’ve noticed that when wearing the mouth guard I still bite down a lot and am thinking the pressure on my gums where my tooth is missing is the reason?
In general my teeth feel quite brittle currently, so I am going to stop drinking these fizzy drinks completely now and will take more care of my oral hygiene. I’ve just ordered a fluoride gel that I hope helps out a lot. I have a condition currently and am extremely intolerant to antibiotics so cannot go down that route at all so am quite worried in case of infection. Will salt water, cutting out fizzy drinks, wearing my mouth guard and better oral hygiene help the issues I’ve been having and allow me to regain the normal feeling in my teeth again?

For context: I am currently in my first year of art school (comic department), and I wanted to hold a presentation about my all time favourite comic (which, as you may have guessed from the title, are the Sonic idw issues). Our teachers are pretty chill, the presentation is not mandatory, so I can have a little fun with it.
What I know: I have read pretty much (almost) all the sonic idw issues (I haven't read all spin-off mini series). I also read some issues from the archie comics! I looked up most of the artists and spend a few hours (I wish I was joking) starring at my favourite panels and analysing them. I have a basic understanding of how a comic is made (still a beginner tho).
The main point: I mainly want to talk about the process of how these comics are made. I know some basics, but I was wondering if there are any good articles or interviews you would recommend to check out. I also want to include some things from the archie comics and talk about the differences between the idw and archie comics (story writing, composition, inking, lettering, etc...). Even fun facts would be super helpful! At first I was planning to yap 2 hours about my favourite pages that have awesome inking, colouring and/or compositions. But I want this presentation to be atleast a little bit informative x'D

Hi all, my cat has been struggling with health issues for about a month now. I’ve posted twice here already with the other issues we’ve been working on and she can’t seem to catch a break. What started as an ear infection, spread to her skin, multiple scabs on her head that are now healed. Then teeth resorption had to go through surgery last week to remove some teeth. All in all I have spent over 5 thousand dollars in this same clinic called Bond vet in Brooklyn, NYC. After the surgery I noticed there was something new, her right eye was looking weird. There was some sort of membrane in the middle of her eye ball and she was squinting a bit. They said it was normal from the lubricants they use while she was under anesthesia. The next day it looked worse so I brought her back and they diagnosed her with a corneal ulcer. Gave me antibiotic drops (Ofloxacin) and told me to apply twice a day and it should go away. It’s been now 6 days from the surgery and her eye only looks worse. See pic below. They told me to return and charged me another $200 for the examination and $40 more of meds now an antibiotic ointment called Terramycin. I am at a loss. I am broke, I don’t know who to trust. I don’t have anymore money to keep coming back there and I can’t stand seeing my cat in pain anymore. She’s only 10 years old and never had any health issues ever before. If you can please help me if this is something that will go away with the eye drops or should I go to a different vet. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Now don’t get me wrong! It’s still a DARK and GRIDDY masterpiece with tons of emotional depth and amazingly deep characters. I still remember crying when Emile (I think that’s his name, the one with the blue armor) tossed me out of that covenant supercarrier before sacrificing himself to stop the covenant from taking Reach. And his death was ironic because he was the big guy and he died from the big explosion. Anyways, I had revisited the game after breaking away from the EVIL and GREEDY Adolf343hitler industries and their newest holocaust known as Halo: Infinite, I cannot believe that they forced me to play 3 years worth of playtime in that disgusting game (I hate it so much it’s so WOKE and POLITICAL they added Women’s history month stuff [uniconic]) and went back to good ol’ underrated gem Halo: Reach. While playing this masterpiece I realized that’s even after playing halo since 1877 (I’m a bit of an OG) I had missed something. The Elites weren’t as caked up as the Halo:CE elites 😱😨. So with this revelation I think it’s safe to say that while Halo: Reach is a very underappreciated masterpiece devoid of any form of flaw or failure, it’s lack of large alien posteriors compared to the older halo games is truly a travesty and thus I cannot call it fully perfect 🙁
