Just a little background here. I'm 28 currently and i work for a beverage company that distrubutes it across various stores. Ive been doing this for close to 5 years now. It's a lot of phsycial labor. My co workers are a hit and miss and many people call out and the sales represenitives order to much product so we have a lot of extra work to do. Just company stanards. I make 22.95 an hour now after 5 years. Full benefeits and 401k which i don't contribute too as i invest on my own. I had an interview with a third party Geico office and i got offered 21 an hour starting pay plus bonuses and potential for more raises. They have a matching 401k and they pay for only half of benefeits. Would this be a good career to pursue for experience of getting into the industry or finding other customer service jobs? I'm a little nervous but really like the idea of being an insurance agent and helping people. This office doesn't do cold calling. They only call people that haven't finished their quote or taking care of already existing customers.
TL;DR Should i switch from being a grocery stocker to a insurance agent?

By the time I get enough hours to fly for regional, I will have already completed an associates degree however may still have one year or less before a bachelors degree
Will any of this help make me more competitive when apply for regionals?

Hey all, I have an 07 Wrangler X with 130k miles and a soft top. It’s time to get a new car, and I’m thinking about just getting a newer Jeep. Newer as in 18-23 years.
I’ve had my Jeep for 10 years now and for some reason I’m just now starting to get annoyed with how loud the interior is, mainly on the highway.
So a few questions..
1): is the newer jeeps “quieter” at all? Do hard tops make a huge difference?
2): Anything I can do to get better gas mileage and a smoother ride? I’d like to take it for long road trips, but there’s no way I’d drive more than 2 hours in my current Jeep haha.
I know words like “quiet”, “better gas mileage” and “smooth” aren’t in Jeep dictionaries, but just curious what others have done to make their vehicle the best they can. My Jeep is a daily driver and my only vehicle also.
I thought about getting a WRX, but after a lot of research, I don’t want to deal with them haha.

Ok…so i recently landed a better job and I’m about to quit my warehouse job. But before I quit, I want to go out with a bang. So if I made a very accurate, and in my opinion, hilarious version of some various memes the size of business cards with this rude Karen lady’s face on them would there be any grounds for charges? I’m thinking of laying them around the building like a damn Easter egg hunt. I know she’s the type that would try to sue or some crap over this prank. (She married into the family business and thinks she’s the ultimate shit I guess. I figured a little prank may put her in her place and keep newer hires from getting targeted as badly.)
If you’re wondering why I would want to do this?? - This lady in the office is always targeting me in emails for unfair reasons (Eg. 3 of us in the warehouse could be chatting loudly while working but I would get targeted) - She’s over hiring and wouldn’t hire on any of the more recent hires through a temp agency (who were very good workers) even though they were told they would be hired on after 3 months…it’d been 10+ - When we need to see her about sick time, vacation time, hiring on, anything she was over, she won’t see us or is “on vacation”. - Constantly watching cameras and being petty about our allocated times (we’re ahead of schedule). - Good people have been there years, get paid less than me, and not gotten pay raises in years (she’s also over this).

So, I'm playing through the MSQ on an alternate character, started before NG+ was a thing and now that I've got the time to finish her out I want to get her done with MSQ before DT so I can have a raid alt.
I just got to the part of the Sharlayan story where you split and can either go to Noumenon or Thavnair. I elected to start with Noumenon this time as I remember going to Thavnair first on my main playthrough.
All that to say there's a part of the story where you talk to Krile outside the doors to Noumenon and she makes a comment that there are basically 3 levels of access to the library:
Level 1 - Anyone in the world who is in Sharlayan is permitted to look through the books stored on the first floor.
Level 2 - Any citizen of Sharlayan is allowed to peruse some of the lower levels.
Level 3 - Archons are allowed access to certain restricted sections of the library
I guess technically there's Level 4 - Assumedly the Forum can access any books in the library they wish, and this level of access can be granted to others as needed.
All that to say: It's assumed your character isn't natively from Sharlayan in the MSQ, and that got me thinking. World lore wise, there has be to a way for someone to become a citizen of Sharlayan other than by being born there, right? Even Sharlayan, home of the egotistical eggheads, wouldn't be so dense as to deny anyone with a true committment to their ideals a place in their nation, especially considering they're all refugees of the Fifth Calamity flooding.
I was curious if anyone can remember a side quest or something that specifies anything like this?

Feeling a bit discouraged at the moment. I am blessed and thankful for those around me and the situation that I’m in, ie ok.
I have had many different kinds of jobs except those in the restaurant business like serving or bartending.
I am employed at the moment but it is not full time so I am looking for a second job so that I can stack my hours up in day 4 days. That is until the last few days.
Just like you, us, all I want to do is make music. So gigs of the sort has me thinking.
I think I can mix a solid record. I also love to DJ. I’ve DJ’d 2 or 3 events in college and went on a free mix/master spree actually on Reddit about two years go. Got a few hundred from each DJ gig from what I remember and I mixed and “mastered” like 8 songs for free. Most of the songs I got just had a vocal track and instrumental. So no tracks really to work with. Anyway, I digress.
Are you able to support yourself through side gigs and have enough time to make the music you love?

I have a flexible job that allow me to travel to my girlfriend regularly (I’m there two weeks a month.) The other two weeks I’m here with my kids (50/50 custody from prior marriage.)
I’m fortunate to have this flexibility, but I’m starting to feel isolated in both places. Since I basically now live in two different cities half the time, I have no routine anymore, I don’t see friends as much, and I have less time for hobbies and exercise.
I love my girlfriend but feel depressed and alone now compared to when I was single and living full time in one place a year ago. Should I end the relationship or try and make this work? We have a minimum of one more year long distance.

Hi, I'll be vague and try to keep this short. I've been at my current restaurant for about 1.5 years. Originally coming in there was some kind of miscommunication or misleading verbiage. I thought I'd be hired as a bartender or a felx person but they've kept me on the floor as a server. I've made great money but it comes with both foh and boh managers that at times can be very irritable and constantly plays favorites. The restaurant is currently in the process of a dramatic remodel. I will admit I do have fomo about losing money, the tips can be great, mostly average, but the pay rate is not competive. Other employers are paying almost 4x the base salary.
So I've decided to leave, and I'm applying to both cafes and restaurants. I had one reach out that I've always thought would be fun to work at and I have a interview scheduled.
If I am hired, either as a server or bartender, and then put my two weeks in at my current job how will I go about telling my current employer why I am leaving? I want to leave the door open so I'm thinking of saying something along the lines of "I'm looking to expand my skill set and find a better work life balance."
Idk what do you guys think? Anything else I should mention or do during my resignation to make it a smooth separation?

Boyfriend since HS hasn’t proposed
Like the title says… I 24F and boyfriend 25M have been together since we were 16. Broke up for a year during COVID and got back together in 2021. 8 years total.
In 2021, he moved into my small studio apartment. This was fine, as you do what you can for the people you love. After my lease was up, we moved into a 2 bedroom apartment together and have lived together ever since.
We have a really nice, healthy relationship. No fighting, no drama, no toxicity.
However, he doesn’t really do the things that a boyfriend would do, and sometimes I feel like a roommate lol.
Since living together, we don’t go on dates, unless initiated by me, he doesn’t get me flowers, or surprise me with things. I’ve talked to him about it, and he says he understands, but nothing changes. Essentially, it’s feels like there is no initiation on his end to build intimacy between the two of us.
Sometimes, I feel bad for asking for these things since we have a good overall relationship, but every woman wants to feel loved, heard, desired and thought of when they’re not around.
For the past year, I have been probing the idea of marriage and where he falls on the idea. Originally, he wasn’t thinking about marriage and it was the last thing on his mind, (I assume due to his childhood/family life) but I have brought it up enough to where he knows this something I expect to move toward in our relationship. We have had plenty of conversations about it, and it’s is very clear this is a non-negotiable for me.
The last time we spoke about it he said, 2 years is his time frame. While I am not one to force anyone to want to marry me, this seems like an unreasonable amount of time considering how long we have been together as adults. I rebuttled with 1year, when our lease is up.
I feel like a placeholder. It just isn’t something that seems to be a priority to him, and if he won’t deliver on little things like dates or flowers, how can I expect more of a gesture from him like proposing?
He says that he wants to have enough money to give me the life I deserve, while this is a sweet thought, how long will that be ? 2, 3, 4 years? While financial stability is everyone’s goal, does love and commitment not super-cede this? We have been regular, full-time hourly employees for the entirety of living together, so I understand the strain of wanting/needing more money, but I am not asking for a super expensive ring or a super lavish wedding just an engagement with some kind of commitment.
I feel selfish for saying that I am not keen to wait any longer for him to fully commit to me, and I really don’t believe in ultimatums. However, at this point, I am unsure if I am being unfair and impatient.
To add to it, I became pregnant last month, and decided against keeping it. I would like to be married first and have myself in order before bringing a child in this world. After the MA process, I feel less sad about the pregnancy and more so have been reconsidering the status/pace of our relationship.
Any ideas on why he hasn’t proposed? Am I unreasonable and selfish? Am I just a placeholder?

I used to work as an early childhood educator but upon "coming out" (I never formally came out, but when children would ask me why I started "looking like a boy" I would explain what being NB meant and coworkers would hear), I was met with fear and enmity from the parents/clients. Within a month, new policy changes were put in place that were very obviously targetted towards me and were both transphobic and ignorant of what it meant to be non-binary.
The long and short of it is that, while the children I taught were very understanding and open-minded, the clients and my own coworkers policed me to the point where I was experiencing breakdowns every morning before work and even dropped out of ECE school because it was (re-)traumatizing to learn how to best support the people who vilified me.
Now the timing of quitting came at the same time that I was able to return to university and finish a degree that I put on pause due to COVID. I am now about to graduate and job searching entry-level office work. I am underemployed and desperate for any full-time work.
Cue, a job posting at an early learning centre for an administrative assistant. I know I'd be a shoe-in to get some office experience and could become comfortable working in a centre if I didn't have to directly educate children or work with the parents as intimately as I used to (which would be re-traumatizing).
But I know if I were to get an interview (here or somewhere else) I would likely have to tackle why I haven't returned to being an educator (I currently have a "gap" in my resume because I'm working retail but I exclude my current job from my resume) at the very least while searching for admin work.
How do I best tackle this question? How do I deal with the scenario that they may call my previous employer (where they only know me by my dead name) and find out that there are no records of "IStoleYourFlannel" ever working there?

On May 8 I attended a show in Toronto. I ordered tickets on line from ticketsonsale.com on March 24. That is a full 44 days before the concert. I received the tickets 56 minutes, Yes MINUTES, before the start of the concert. The concert venue is one hour away from where I live. The only reason I received the tickets at all, ( in my opinion) is that I had spent four hours on line with two different agents on chat and one live individual in a voice call. All three agents told me that my tickets had been delivered at various times, only the last agent actually came through.
They charged my credit card 10 minutes after completing the purchase.
I knew from the start that they were reselling tickets, they state so right up front on their webpage. I also knew that the price could possibly be more than the stated value on the tickets. What I was not prepared for was the non appearance of the tickets. I was given multiple dates for when the tickets would be received, oh and there is no refund . The whole experience was aggravating, borderline fraud, useless agents who “had their whole team looking for the tickets”, a chat service that suddenly froze and became non functioning, when I asked questions about what the procedure was for getting refund for the missing tickets.( hence three different agents to deal with over four hours.)
Be aware that they have positioned themselves as the number one item in search when you go looking for tickets. Take my advice and Do not even go to their site, I guarantee that you will not be happy with the price, you will not be happy with the timing of receipt of tickets and you will not get any satisfaction regarding refunds, rebates, The organization is operating in that gray area of ticket resale and in my opinion they are committing fraud on a regular basis

Title says all. I am a big fan of serious-toned prose books with less humowitty/absurd characters/humotone. I was wondering if The Locked Tomb is silly/funny/non-serious all/most of the time or does it get darker and grimer. I read the first chapter and while I liked it, it was a bit witty/over-the-top for me and I wondered if that changes over the books. I currently don't have the time to read beyond that so I was wondering if I should make the commitment when I can or not.
Examples of fiction that was "too witty/over-the-top" for me (while I still liked them, but not too much) are the comics Saga and The Wicked + The Divine.

I struggled with weight my whole childhood, mainly due to parents who instilled absolutely zero discipline and self control in me. I'm not sure how much blame is on me, since I was a kid, but I was allowed to eat seconds and thirds of every meal. Sodas and sweet tea galore. And I'm from Louisiana so the food was incredible but extremely unhealthy. Due to this, I was over 230 pounds by the time I was 18. I'm 5'11" (and at the time was closer to 5'9.5") so this is firmly in the obese category. One week I got sick with the flu and ate an extremely low amount of calories due to the sickness, I lost 12lbs in a week, a lot of which was surely water weight of course, but it was the kick in the ass to make me feel like I could do it. If I could eat nothing while sick, I could eat a normal but lower than what I was used to amount while healthy. I also just wanted to be happy with myself and how I looked, which I certainly wasn't. So over the course of the next .5-1 year I lost a lot of weight down to 170 at my lowest. I maintained for a while, went back up to 195ish for a while and maintained there, then eventually fell back into old habits a couple of years later, gaining an extra 75+ pounds to now 272 being my highest recorded weight ever. I didn't weight myself for almost 3 years and had no idea how much more I had gained. I knew I for sure had gained up to at least that 230 number once again, but I didn't realize how much over it I went.
It seemed like an absurdly long road to me, I had lost the weight once before and knew I had the discipline within me to do it, I just had to find it again. But it was so demotivating to me to know that I had to lose over 30 pounds just to even get to the 230s again, like my highest the first time around, let alone the extra 60 pounds. I pushed through that demotivating factor though and started CICO again. The one good part was I got to lose at the same pace as before but with a higher calorie count due to the extra 40 pounds, haha. It made it even easier to CICO than the last time. For me it was mostly just cutting out soda and snack calories, as I've only ever eaten two meals a day and only mildly high portions with those two meals, so i didn't have to change much there. As of today, I weighed in at 238.8, where my previous low was 240.0, so I finally got to see that number tick into the 230s once again. I'm 111 days into the CICO journey this time around according to MFP, so I'm losing at almost exactly 2 pounds a week, which is great and feels sustainable. Next stop is getting that first number to start with a "1" again. :)

Look at Norway, look at Sweden.
They are great countries (although xenophobic), but their citizens are happy. They have no stress and everything is taken care of for them. Like healthcare, education. Everything is free. Just look at Norway jails. Then look at your house. Which one is better?
Just think about it.
Our politicians are getting paid millions while Singaporeans are struggling to pay their bills. You think this is normal? Does this not sound dystopian to you?
Moreover, they also don't deserve the pay because Singapore is on a downhill. But their salary? Uphill...
Shouldn't their salary be tied to the progress of Singapore? How can their salary increase when we are becoming worse?
I think they should get paid above median of course. But not millions.
If I can choose, maybe like $7-8k a month for Ministers. A comfortable salary to feed family, but not extravagant to buy bungalows.
MPs should be paid just an allowance since its part time. Maybe like $1k to reimburse transport fee, and their weekends should be volunteer work.

As the title says, I just finished building a new PC, but it has been experiencing crashes back to desktop while gaming on several games (squad, BMX Streets, gray zone warfare) & 1 crash that rebooted the entire system after I closed out of the Xbox app one time. For added context, I have been utilizing XMP mode in my BIOS (3200 speed)
Since these crashes, I have done the following to diagnose/fix the problem. - turned down graphics settings in the games but that didn’t help - ran SFC/SCANNOW which did fix corrupted files, but this didn’t fix the crashing. - I used memtest86 to test ram, which found many errors while I was using the XMP profile with maximum ram speed (3200) - I tuned the XMP profile down to 3066 ram speed & used memtest86 again which found 0 errors.
After this, I also looked at my motherboard’s accepted RAM list online and did not find my exact model number there (but found others that were very similar to it by Corsair)
I have 2 questions:

• based on the above, do you think it is very likely my ram not being on the motherboards list of acceptable ram to be the culprit of my system instability? It can run fine outside of games for the most part, but games have caused issues inside of 1 hour of playtime each time I try to play. Should I buy one of the RAM model numbers listed on the motherboard’s website for my motherboard?
  
• While I was building the PC, I had to do a flashback update for my bios so it would accept my 13th gen Intel CPU. Do you think, no matter the ram I use, the xmp profile on the newly updated bios may be causing instability and crashes?

To Contextualize, the western hemisphere was dominated by the political and social dominance of European based colonial empires in the Americas during this time period as European colonial empires held significant amount of political, cultural, and economic dominance over the western hemisphere during this time period. However, factors such as the Napoleonic wars and the French conquest of Spain, the start of the cold war, the rise of revolutions inspired by the ideals of the enlightenment, and the start of the cold war resulted in the collapse of European dominance in the region . While some may argue that these nationalistic movements and revolutions were primarily caused by social factors and economic factors like the abuse of native people for economic labor, political factors such as the enlightenment (American) , abolition of slavery (Hati) , the desire to end imperial rule int he western hemisphere (america,hati,latin america), and foreign political influence in the western hemisphere caused by the start of the cold war were the most significant factors that led to nationalistic developments in the western hemisphere. In the period following the weakened rule of European colonial powers in the americas caused by the Napoleonic war nationalistic movements arose against the power of european imperialist empires in the western hemisphere. These movements were significantly influenced by the political factors of the time such as in the american revolution against the british. The american revolution although claimed by some to have been primarily influenced by the economic factor of the , raising of taxing by the british onto the americans, was primarily caused by the lack of political representation that american colonist in the western hemisphere held. This lack of political representation led to the start and rise of the american revolution against the british as the american colonist sought to gain political independence from the british government who was unwilling to give political representation to the american colonist. This development of the american revolution inspired nationalistic movements across the western hemisphere as it inspired other revolutionaries such as simon bolivar and Toussaint L'Ouverture to form similar movements against oppressive political factors such as that of the Casta system. Following the principle of the american revolution, Simon bolivar led a nationalistic movement against the spanish empire due to the extremely restrictive political dominance that the Spanish empire held over its colonial holdings in the western hemisphere. This spanish political dominance over its colonial holdings was caused in part by the establishment of a political and social hierarchy in the americas called the Casta system. This system placed native-spanish (iberian peninsula) born individuals at the top of the chain allowing only for these individuals to hold significant political influence in the colonies. This placed the majority of the spanish colonial population who were made up of creoles, mestizos/ mulatos, natives and, african blacks to be unable to hold any political power in the colonies. Simon Bolivar a creole , used this lack of political representation and power caused by the casta system to unite the Latin American colonies to resist Spanish colonial rule in the Americas through an armed revolution against them. This is also documented in Simon bolivar's famous letter titled “letter from jamaica” where simon bolivar advocated for foreign powers to aid to the revolution against spain and where he documents his desires for political and social change in the Americas. Furthermore, similar to how simon bolivar was influenced by the american revolution of 1776, Toussaint L'Ouverture was inspired by the latin american revolutions led by simon bolivar as he believe that the french dominance in the island of haiti was severely restricting the rights of haitian enslaved peoples. Born as a slave to the then French controlled island of haiti, toussaint l'ouverture greatly experience the harsh brutality the french colonial government inflicted upon the african slaves brought to the island of haiti as hard labors for the agricultural cash crops that colonial holding needed for economic profits. Inspired by the recent revolutions in america, latin america and france, toussain sought to enable the natural rights of the slaves by starting an armed slave rebellion against the dominant french colonial government. This armed slave rebellions was able to successfully enable a united nationalist movement (rebellion) against the french colonial government as after the development of a armed rebellion in the french colonial holding, the french government sought to violently repress it through military action. This military actions was then successfully repelled by the united slave revolt which allowed for the freeing of slaves and the establishment of natural rights on the island. That is how the political factor of the desire to obtain natural rights and political representation significantly influenced the Hatina nationalistic slave revolt . In conclusion, the political factors of the desire to gain political independence from the formerly dominant european powers, the desire to gain political representation and natural right significantly influence the extent to which nationalistic developments in the western hemisphere were influenced by political factors.
