Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out for assistance with troubleshooting an Acer Aspire EasyStore H340 network-attached storage server, which I'm repairing for a friend.
The server is running Windows Home Server, and the laptop used for accessing it is running Windows 7. We want to figure out a way to use the home server despite it being so old.
Here's a summary of the issues I'm encountering and the steps I've taken so far:

1. Accessing the Console: Unfortunately, we've forgotten the password to access the Windows Home Server console. Attempts to reinstall the client resulted in a network connectivity error.
2. Connection: Despite being on the same network, the tray icon on the Windows 7 laptop indicates that the home server and laptop are not connected. We're unsure why they aren't connecting.
3. Resetting the Server: Following the instructions in the online manual, we attempted to reset the server using a paperclip on the reset button, but it didn't yield any changes or improvements in connectivity.
4. Assessing Indicators: After booting, the System Status indicator turns solid red. The HDD Access indicators for slots 2 and 3 turn red regardless of whether disks are present. The HDD Status indicator doesn't react despite the access indicators turning red.
5. Running Diagnostic Test: We tried to run a diagnostic test using an "annie.gho" file on a USB drive, but it didn't work as expected. The HDD Access indicators didn't flash, and no log file was generated. We’re not exactly sure how to use that file to run the test though, so it could be an error on our part.

Current issues include:

• Lack of access to the home server console due to a forgotten password.
• Inability to establish a connection between the server and the Windows 7 laptop.
• Absence of recovery disks for resetting the server.
• Indicators not responding correctly, particularly the HDD Access indicators.
• The diagnostic test not returning results.

There is currently no data saved on the disks so we’re open to any factory reset type of methods.
If anyone has experience troubleshooting Acer Aspire EasyStore H340 servers or similar NAS devices, I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance on resolving these issues.

So I gave my 12 boards in year 2022, scored decent percentage(86%) CBSE board so like every other aspirant I thinked let's take drop for 1 year... So I thought ki ab to kuch nhi hoga but fir ek din ek dost ne bola ki Bhai tu second drop lele.. I thought is year 96 percentile 140 Tak bani hai moderate shift mai to agar ek saal acche se padha to 160-180 tk le aunga(My first mistake ki maine apna goal hi chota seat Kiya like 180 number) Second drop le liya.. starting mai sab sahi ja raha tha up to July scoring good marks in mock like 110-120ish.Iwas happy ki chalo last year se progress ho rhi hai exam Tak 160-180 ho ji jayega...I didn't join any offline coaching was preparing from my home by pw prayas batch( My second mistake ki maine apne comfort zone Mai reh kar padhai karna decide Kiya, I know ki most of log aap mai se bolenge ki Bhai online Ghar se padh kar bhi ho jata hai and I completely agree with you but the thing is if you are preparing online for such big competitive exam you need to be disciplined which In my case was lacking)cut to Second drop result I scored same percentile like last year... Fully fucked up I know ki kuch nhi milega is pe aur kismat itni acchi ki is year 2024 jab exam Diya to first attempt 27 Jan shift2 thi aur second attempt mai 6 April shift 1 which you guys know ki dono mai hi high marks pe low percentile bni hai due to several reasons but mai apni failure ko is se nhi excuse kar raha.. I didn't study properly and I failed that simple ... Jab se exam aya hai zayda tar Ghar pe hi rehta hun aur ab bas suicidal thoughts hi ate haii... Most of the time depressed rehna ... Mai apne aap ko koi bahut bekar student nhi manta agar mehnat krte lag ke to ho jata but ab vo time chala gya aur mai bas ye cheez is liye idhar likh Raha hun kyunki ye sab baate sab log nhi smj sakte ... I hope ki mai mar jaun jitna jldi ho sake taki ye sab baate sochne nhi pdhe

Earlier this morning me and my mom went to seek admission for a school since the results came out yesterday. I scored 352/500 which is 70%. While enquiring, since we didn’t apply for admission in online beforehand, the staff requested us to speak to the principal directly. We waiting for like a very long time, like 45 minutes before that bastard took us in. Me and her took a seat and immediately that guy shouted at me and I almost got a jumpscare. He told me to stand up and that it’s not respectful for me to simply come and sit down like this. He requested for the mark sheet which my mother gave. That guy immediately got angry and went on blabbering on some shit about how this years paper was so damn easy and that every student in his school scored centum or something. He asked me to study better to which I told him I would do so, to which he laughed and asked me what is Newton’s 2nd law, which I admit I forgot. He then proceeded to give staff my marksheet which his smug ass face and the other teacher decided to be smug too. He looks like that kind of boomer uncle whom nobody cares about and who is always deciding students worth by their marks, high scoring students are superior, vice versa. My mother and I felt humiliated and I just wanted to get that off my chest. He deliberately spoke in a manner that would make fun of me in front of the staff.

My daughter was diagnosed with focal seizures that generalize in the last year. She has had seizures since March 2023, and has no other medical history.
Her seizures have not fully responded to medication (she has tried Keppra, Vimpat, and now Onfi). Due to this, her neuro recommended a 3 day EEG, which we did in the hospital, and they found that the seizures are coming from the right frontal lobe at a very "interconnected" part of her brain, which causes these seizures to generalize quickly.
Yesterday, she had and MRI and PET scan done, and I just got part of the results uploaded to her online chart: CLINICAL HISTORY: 13 years old Female with reported history of medically refractory seizures. Please evaluate for possible epileptic focus. Right frontotemporal. COMPARISON: Prior brain MR from 4/13/2023 TECHNIQUE: 62 minutes following the radiopharmaceutical, PET images of the brain were obtained from the vertex to the skull base. PET images were attenuation-corrected using a low dose CT. CONTRAST MEDIA AND RADIOPHARMACEUTICALS: 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) - 5.1 millicurie - Intravenous FINDINGS: Symmetric FDG uptake is seen in cortical and subcortical gray matter. IMPRESSION: 1. No focal asymmetry in cerebral FDG uptake to confirm a lateralizing seizure focus. 2. For further details on simultaneously acquired MRI images, see separately dictated report.
They haven't uploaded the MRI results yet, and I haven't heard from her doctor yet but I'm curious if anyone knows what this means so far?

I tried google but didn't like the courses business oriented results (udemy, khan, etc), I am just looking for free resources that is already online open to anyone to start reading, I don't want youtube videos, just text material with visuals, I think some colleges have such resources, I saw a few many years ago but never bothered to save the address. can you help?

They "forgave" all the NOCP and late fees this one time - oh how generous of them for forgiving me for their mistake...
If this had been a personal vehicle, sure I'd understand that at some point I should have realized I wasn't getting bills I should otherwise be getting, but thankfully this wasn't for a personal vehicle. This was for my employer.
We have a ton of trucks and trailers, and for various reasons the company wants to pay by mail for a large number of our vehicles and trailers, which results in the occasional late fee since I can't select which transactions I pay online, but that's it. Imagine my surprise when I get two bills in the mail today showing a $600+ bill and a NOCP for a transaction from months and months ago.
I looked through the past 6 months of our bills, and while I had plenty for our other vehicles, I had none for this plate. None.
I went online and saw the last time I had made a payment was back in August 2023. After that it was just tolls, late fees and civil penaltys. When I called them the rep said they've sent 22 statements. Ok, but where?!? Because I didn't just miss all 22, and while the mail has been unreliable, there's no way they lost all of them. The rep didn't even try to answer, just moved on to payment.
Mostly I just want to know how this happened. Has it happened to anyone and if so, did you ever figure out what went wrong?

Just got moved from tax credits to universal credit and immediately, after receiving nothing from either tax credits or UC for 1 assessment period, got paid twice in once month by my work. As a result, I got a £0 award and my Scottish child payment was stopped for one month. Now, each year when I am paid twice in a month I use that money to repair the car or anything else that I couldn’t afford during the year. So I was anticipating having a little extra cash to use on essentials, instead, I got a month with no benefits at all, followed by a month on £0 award, and then a month with no Scottish child payment. I have three kids so that is a substantial amount. Unfortunately I was already granted an advance. I decided to use that to pay off my credit card (used to get by in hard times, not on frivolous things) as I knew UC could be bad and I didn’t want to start off in debt. Now I am just stumped. My tiny amount of savings are gone. i keep getting money taken off me. I can’t seem to rely on my income anymore, and my car needs more repairs I can’t afford. My work coach, who I messaged through the online journal, cant seem to understand my questions or offer advice on this.
is it correct that Scottish child payment just cuts off like that? Don’t they taper it? Maybe it doesn’t affect some people so much but having three kids it’s a big chunk of my income

I’ve started integrating these strategies into my outreach efforts and have noticed a significant uptick in engagement. For those of you who've tried similar approaches, what results have you seen? what tools did you used, And if you have other tips or tools to recommend, I'd love to hear about them!

I have 2 Access points having issues going offline and online due to STP block.
We have about 20 Access Points and this is only happening to 2 access points, the others are stable. The 2 access points that are having the issue are connected to 2 different switches. I have tried replacing the switches, same issue.
Here are some steps i have tried:

1. I have verified there are no additional uplink cables that could be causing STP. Each Unifi switch connected to the UDM has only 1 uplink
2. I have swapped out the AP with a different AP, same result
3. I have swapped cable between the AP and the Unifi switch, same result.
4. I have connected affected AP to switch by itself, ensuring power to AP is optimal. Switch was powering 11w out of 95w
5. I can get the affected access point to be stable and run for days, but if i reboot other access points in the network, then the affected AP goes into STP and reboots.

Anyone got any ideas that i could try? Thanks for your time and assistance

I worked loads of overtime during the assessment period for my maternity leave, hoping to boost my maternity pay. I am just finishing the last two weeks of a three month stint of working night shifts and and at other times which allow me to get a little extra pay on top of my basic wage. This is something I am obviously not capable of sustaining long term and I was lucky the opportunities were there, though it was tough to do while I was pregnant. On top of this, my employer gave us all a bonus which is still due to be paid but likely to be at least a couple hundred pounds. As a result, my maternity pay for the first six months will be the same as my usual pay, but because of all my hard work this will be at least £300 extra each month compared to what it would actually usually be. What I am worried about is that when I finally do return to work, i will be earning less again suddenly, seeing as I will be back to my usual contracted hours. How will this affect things? Because I worry that they will think I am deliberately reducing my income seeing as it was higher for so long. It will be at least 8 months of me earning more. Have I shot myself in the foot by working more? My contact with my work coach via the online diary leads me to believe they have a bad grasp of english as they dont answer ny questions but copy paste statements which are vaguely on the same topic but dont address anything I ask. I just want to try and budget.

I’m a frequent social media scroller and It’s come to my attention that there is a rising population of women who are opting out of dating and sex with men… and men aren’t happy about it. In fact “the male loneliness crisis” is the talk of the internet, but no one is suggesting that these lonely men should grow as people, that becoming someone that people want to be around might result in people wanting to be around them, date them etc.
I was thinking about my own relationships with men, the conversations I’ve had with other women about their romantic relationships with men, and all the posts I see online. We are taught early on “don’t expect a man to change” and men are adamant that they shouldn’t Change for women.
But the issue is change and growth is the corner stone of a healthy relationship, when you start a relationship with someone your life is going to change, you will have to manage your time differently and you should want to grow as a person with the person you want in your life.
One recurring issue I’ve seen in my failed relationships is that the men has expected me to slip seamlessly into his life, that I must be the one who adapts to his schedule and shouldn’t expect the same from him. That I should be the one working on myself while he sits back and tells me I can’t change him.
I believe this is why these women are deciding not to date men and are focusing on their female friendships, they are fed up of being the only ones who are willing to adapt to be in a relationship. The Men who are complaining about it are still not changing or working on themselves.
The men who are in successful and happy relationships aren’t in them because they are tall handsome and rich (bla bla), they are in these healthy relationships because they are dedicated to growing with their partners and have adapted their life to accommodate for their partner.
It’s totally acceptable for you do expect a partner to wish to change, I’m glad women are finally putting their foot down.

Used gigged to death since the 90's Boss DS-2 $60.....when a brand new one is $50. $150 battle scarred Squier Bullets. Used and abused gear sold as-is....with sales people who discourage the buyer from trying. Show rooms that look like a yard sale after the third day. Shop keepers who think their stuff is gold, then crying about the Internet is taking their business. Last three visits to an independent shop resulted in me ordering online when I got home.

On my main gaming PC, I have an Alienware widescreen QD OLED monitor (3440x1440 @ 175hz / 43:18 ratio). I sometimes remotely stream Elder Scrolls Online through steam connect to my macbook pro (M1 16' / 3456x2234 / 16:10). The game streams buttery smooth. However, steam streams the game with the host monitor's ratio/resolution, resulting in a widescreen ratio on my 16:10 mac. This means the game displays across the center with the host's ratio. This makes it difficult to see UI text and objects as they appear too small. I have tried to set a custom resolution and ratio on the host PC as Nvidia's settings include that option. The problem there is the sheer number of parameters in the window for the custom setting is too complex for me to easily figure out.
Has anyone had success doing this to set the host PC's resolution to match the client's, so the game would run at the client's native ratio / resolution or even a close approximation? OR - Is there a way to have Steam manipulate the resolution and ratio that the game streams in on the fly?

I stupidly lost track of my speed and got a speeding ticket in Georgia for 98 in a 70 on my way home to Massachusetts. Wondering if it would be worth it to fight in court or if I should just pay the ticket online. I am from Massachusetts and have a Mass license. Wondering how bad this will be on my insurance. Wondering if it can result in a license suspension in Massachusetts or not and I also heard that Georgia apparently does not share its traffic violation information with other states. Any information helps, am trying to do my own research on this as well. Thank you so much for anyone that has any input!
