It is widely used in diverse fields such as Web Development, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Software Computing. Python is a versatile and powerful programming language that is utilized by builders around the world for a huge range of programs. In today’s fast-paced tech world, Python Programming is sort of the basis for constructing software, together with websites, mobile apps, and huge business structures.
Python programming has various features,
  • Simple and easy to learn:
Python syntax is simple and readable, making it clean for novices to research and understand. Readability and accessibility reduce software maintenance and development costs.
  • Interpreted:
Python code is generated line by line with the help of Python interpreters, without the need for compilation, making code testing more efficient and solutions more iterative This makes Python more motivated to prototype and improve.
  • Dynamic Typing:
Python is dynamically typed, which means you don’t need to specify the record type of variables. This makes Python more flexible and allows you to progress faster, as you can be introduced to solving problems instead of dealing with calculations.
  • Rich standards library:
Python provides a large and comprehensive library that provides instructions for many common tasks, including record I/O, networking, and information manipulation This reduces the need to write code from scratch and speeds up development.
  • Object-Oriented:
Python supports object-oriented programming (OOP) thinking, enabling text and gadgets to model real-world objects. This makes developing and maintaining complex codebases much less difficult.
  • Cross-platform:
Python should be available across multiple platforms, along with Windows, macOS, and Linux, so that development becomes an easy priority. This allows builders to write the code once and run it on a different platform without making any changes.

2024.05.14 12:44 CompetitiveSummer714 [US-VA] Pay repair and Deduct rent

below is the sections from the lease:
  1. LANDLORD MAINTENANCE. Except as otherwise noted, Landlord shall maintain Premises in compliance with the Uniform Statewide Building Code and the VRLTA and shall be responsible for repairs not due to the fault or negligence of Tenant.
  2. FIXTURES AND APPLIANCES. Landlord shall provide as part of Premises any existing built-in heating and central air conditioning equipment, plumbing and lighting fixtures, storm windows, storm doors, screens, installed wall-to-wall carpeting, exhaust fans, window shades, blinds, window treatment hardware, smoke and heat detectors, TV antennas, sump pumps, exterior trees and shrubs. and such other items as are listed below. Appliances: Gas Range , Dishwasher, Washer Dryer, Refrigerator, Disposal , Microwave
The AC is broken. Based on the lease the AC(central air conditioning equipment) is the landlords responsibility to fix. I let the landlord know in writing that it was broken on April 29. It has now been 14 days and the landlord just emailed me that he wants me to pay to repair it. Under VA law i know there are two options. 1) pay and deduct and 2) tenant assertion, which involves the court. I want to do option 1 and get a licensed contractor to repair the AC and then deduct from rent for the following month. Is this possible? and if so, how much would i deduct based on § 55.1-1244.1? would i be protected from eviction?

Hunger…
It’s all that drives us. It’s all that unites, connects us… All that pulls us, all that defines and binds us…
Our story began long ago. It all started with a single parasite cell. Not the greatest primordial ancestor indeed, but every Apex Predator started somewhere. But back to our history… That very first cell was our first grandmother, as well as the beginning of our entire civilization. Hard to tell what was the trigger for it’s evolutionary change, as time wipes all. Perhaps it was desire to become something better? Awakening? Or maybe just spontaneous mutation in one of the genome chains, occurring by changes in environment? It really doesn’t matter. All what matters is that that cell evolved…
It didn’t happened quickly of course. Our first grandmother was no different than an average cancer cell that is present in nearly every life form, even us. It just growed into one small neoplasm, or simply, a cancer tumor. But that tumor slowly made it’s way to the brain. We know that because that’s how we, as well as our ancestors, assimilated everything for millennia…
It is impossible to determine which one of the prey species was honored to become the meal of our first ancestor, but it was clear that that feast was something that never happened before. That tumor did not just sucked the nutrients dry till the brain dies from the protein starvation, taking the tumor along the way with it. No, that tumor assimilated it. And that tumor learned. Learned from it. And it saw the world for the first time.
Assimilation is not as easy as other inferior beings think. First, your cell needs to find the prey cell. Then it needs to envelop the cytoplasm of that cell to properly assimilate it. However, after assimilating the “Host”, your cells need to take properties of assimilated cells and even function for the prey organism for the time being so it won’t suspect anything. It is a long, tedious and fatiguing process. That’s why we just ambush other prey organisms, tear them apart, and devour them for protein supplies, to avoid all that bustling.
And say what, the prey doesn’t make it easier for us either. As our first ancestors quickly learned, prey can be sentient too. It is inferior, weak, pathetic… And yet it can create great weapons to stop us. For [decades] these beings create astonishing amount of that pesky, venomous and disgusting antibiotics and chemicals to kill our minds. For thousands of [years] they set our flesh on fire, making us scream as we die in agony cell by cell.
And yet we prevail. When they make those chemistry compounds they call “Cure”, we gain immunity to it. When they set our bodies ablaze, we spray them with our blood and teeth, making their bodies to slowly blister as we eat them inside out. When they close their doors on us, we use ventilations, slithering right above their heads or below their {feet}. When they use special protection suits, we just tear them apart. And when they completely quarantine themselves, thinking that they are safe, we pretend to be one of them, striking from behind…
What is the most amazing thing about this prey? Well, aside that their flesh is delicious… They are clever. And they know how to build stuff. Weapons, tools, technology… Everything to increase the odds of survivability and comfort of their pathetic kind. And by devouring their minds, we gain all this knowledge as well! We learned how to grow cattle to saturate our hunger, we learned how to create faster means of transportation that even the fastest members of our swarm can’t out-crawl with their appendages. And most importantly; we learned how to reach the skies…
Among the prey species that we feast upon, there was a special class, or caste, of highly educated specimens, who called themselves “scientists”. These specimens learned how to use metal, fuel, radiation, and other inedible and in some cases straight up harmful components of nature, and turned them into what they called “Spacecraft”. A special vehicle, capable of leaving the atmosphere of our planet. Something that sounded like fantasy, even for the boldest ones of us, who sometimes managed to grow wings and flew high in the sky. It was a fantasy until we consumed their heads and the knowledge they possessed along the way. From them we gained knowledge of the schematics of these space vessels, and most importantly; the schematics of FTL drives. Devices capable of traveling among the stars with “superluminal” speed. And so, after conquering and discovering each and every corner of our planet, we soared to the great unknown, right into the void…

We flew among the stars in our glorious ships made out of strongest titanium fusions and covered in our eternal flesh. Yes, what wasn’t made out of the metal hulls and electronics, was made out of sheer muscles and flesh tissue. So many cells… So much nutrition… We could withstand decades without the food and still hunt like our greatest hunters back on Mupan(Apparently, that’s how prior sentient prey species happened to call our planet, and we didn’t really bother to rename it, as for us it was widely known as just plain“Ground, floor, or land”). Our strongest weapons, combined with our most dissolving acid spitters, made us the strongest and most feared hunters, “cementing” our history as the strongest Apex Predators in the galaxy! We defeated, devoured, and assimilated everything… It did not matter if our enemy was a leviathan, an enemy prey fleet, or even an entire planet. If it could be eaten, it was eaten…
Until it wasn’t…
On yet another great crusade in search of delicacy for our insatiable fleets, our sensors captured a strange, but nonetheless familiar signal. The impulse of FTL drive. We made a serious double, and even triple checking of our radars to avoid a major nutritional loss due to false readings. After our intels captured, properly verified, and confirmed the signal, our intercoms just exploded with thousands of jaws:
“Food?”
“Food…”
“ Food! FOOD!!! Food! Food! Delicious prey! Food! We shall… FEAST! Food! Yes!!! Food! FOOD!!! We haven’t ate for [Month]! At last… Some good food… Food! Juicy food… Flesh of prey…
Food! The succulent meat…”
Yes, we felt joy. And anticipation of hunting down these unknown but likely very delicious organisms. It was like opening the present. You don’t know what was inside these flying metal cans, but you sure know that it was likely to be something edible.
Oh, we never were so wrong in our glorious history.
We did not saw them at first, that’s how black and cloaked they were. When we finally identified our “prey” we saw it was a small cluster of black ellipsoids, just hovering there. They did not tried to contact us, like other naive prey organisms did. They were completely silent...
“We will smash you like the eggs you are!” we foolishly thought back then...
They slowly turned frontwards when we approached them. Their range was astonishing, picking our smallest drones instantly before they could even scream, like if they were the candles that these black horrors just blew out.
When we finally reached the required distance and fired our acid sacks and laser guns however, they were still there, not blowing up, retreating, or even moving an [inch]. Then we opened all the airlocks(if we weren’t already outside) and enveloped their ships in our mighty grip, not stopping to pour their shields with our acids and plasma. Usually, after a few unpleasant zaps of enemy shields, they just popped and the ships just were crack open like the [nuts].
But not them...
They did not crumble and exposed their hulls with screaming prey just getting sucked out in the vacuum as usual, no, instead they started to grow bright red. Redder than our flesh and blood…
And burned. Burned stronger and more painful than any flame. Our drones roared in pain but we couldn’t hear any of their songs of torture in this vacuum of silent space. Hundreds of megatons of our flesh clusters was just turned in ashes or were torn off and become drifted dead lumps of burnt meat. Our intercoms filled with screams of fear and agony, our minds losing their mass and density, turning into undeveloped children.
"Father? It hurts…” could be heard from countless drones. And any of them that tried to escape, were sniped with red beams of such accuracy, that our best spitters could only dream of. It didn’t last long when we were the only operating guide ship of entire Armada that was so ingloriously butchered. And then we felt the warmth…
No… NO!
All weapons of this black "eggs" were pointed at us, our last mind. The last memories flashed as we slowly were burned to death. The last though of our last tumor was the realization that there was someone stronger than us. Someone who cannot be eaten. The bigger Predator…

2024.05.14 12:19 bestboopnow Magic-focused MC

I'm craving the itch for MAGIC
Too many MCs are gettin' in there with their fists and stuff, nah, that ain't it. Gimme some goddayumn spell-slinging mofo that stands at the back and uses weird obscure ways of using the magic or uses a ritual to break the world or smth, I don't care I just need magic it's been too long since I've read some.
Here's what I've read: (feel free to use as recommendations) (I listen to audiobooks for everything)
I'm feel bad for saying negative things so I couldn't, they are all pretty good at least, if in different areas, I've listened to bad stuff, none of these are awful
This does not include semi-magic-wielding MCs, pure magic, or at least pure-magic focused. Not including things like MCs that mainly sling magic guns and not a wide variety of magic tools. Not including dungeon core.
I have about 200~ titles in my library, don't think that just because this list is long I listen to mostly magic stuff, I don't, although I wish I did

2024.05.14 12:08 Luca_000 Cross-Platform Reselling Tool (Best approach)

I am selling products online here in Europe. I usually list them on ebay, but would also like to add more smaller marketplaces as well for reach (like kleinanzeigen.de for Germany, willhaben.at for Austria, or subito.it for Italy). I would like to have a tool that automatically reposts my listings to these platforms without me having to do all of that manually.
There is some tool that does it, but not for the European marketplaces I need. It is called vendoo.co .
Now I wanted to ask for some ideas on how to reach a MVP the fastest. Would you go for coding and API integrations? Or web automation? Or something completely different?
Thanks guys for your ideas!
(If needed, I can give much better explanation of possible/desired features)

2024.05.14 11:59 And_be_one_traveler Ever noticed how often r/AITA and all the similar subreddits love to blame feminism for things it doesn't advocate for?

For example, when they talk about how paternity works legally and the susposed acceptance of cheating
Legal Paternity
It's usually the case around the world that if a wife has a child during their marriage, the husband is legally assumed to be the father. Even if everyone involves knows he isn't, and all want to change this, they may still have to go to court.
This is somehow blamed on feminism. Never mind that depending on a guy who resents being a father for child support can be worse than just relying on welfare. And nevermind that all the women who fled their abusive husbands would love to not give him custody rights (because, many abusers see getting custody of their kids as a way to hurt their mother).
So why did it come from?
Firstly, law codes were mostly developed before paternity tests were a thing. This is just a guess, but at least in the West, where it was usually men who controlled the couple's money, lawmakers likely didn't want their sisters and daughters left destitute by false claims of infidelity.
And at least partially it comes from the fact that the state doesn't want to pay benefits it can get a way with. Which also explains why almost no politicians will advocate against the assumption of paternity for the husband. Just paying for a few weeks of welfare until paternity tests came back for every man, and then hoping the men will all pay the state back, would increase the cost of the social welfare budget for little, if any, community gain. And social welfare is often a large part of a state's budget.
And of course, modern DNA tests have their own problems, like the ethics around the use of DNA given for other purposes to catch criminals. And who would pay for them, and some others.
Cheating
Literally no popular feminist work advocates this. You could argue works like the Scarlet Letter are trying to cast sympathy on women seen as cheaters, but even those are asking why women are being punished much more harshly than men. And if cheating should be a purely social wrong, rather than a legal one. Some thing goes for the Handmaid's tale, particularly the series rather than the novel, where June is the other woman, rather than dating an already divorced man as she does in the novel.
You'll see cheating accepted in some film and TV shows, but I don't think feminist films are more guilty of this than any other genre. Those that do usually protray the women as a victim of abuse by her spouse, however Hollywood does like to sometimes show affairs as romantic simply because the other partner is kind of annoying and the main couple belong together. However, these nearly always have a man willingly a part of the affair. Hollywood is very happy to show men cheating too and protray it as a good or kinda bad thing when it wants too (eg. Oppenheimer).
Thinking about the major feminists I've heard of, I think their responses to having constant affairs would vary.
So yeah, feminism does not equal screwing over men. But AITA-land likes to insist it does

2024.05.14 11:20 WolfMaster1997 My systematic approach to high-value B2B lead and deal generation / GTM.

In this post I want to break down how I think about and how I build custom B2B lead gen eco-systems that are designed to engage a cold prospect, educate and help them to then turn into $XX,XXX deals.
I'll share the metrics and best practices from my own experiences from working with around 20 b2b companies with varying deal sizes, starting from $5k marketing packages, to $90k/yr fintech solutions and $200k software dev & IT deals. If you don't agree with my approach, that's fine, there's multiple ways to skin a cat.
Fundamentals are mostly the same and we can split it in 3 main parts.
  1. Traffic acquisition
  2. Nurture & education mechanism
  3. Conversion mechanism.
Where most businesses go wrong is that they try to sell their expensive service to a cold prospect.
That might look like cold emailing and cold "linkedining" (new term) prospects an offer or asking if they're interested in this and that, on the spot.
This is not a good approach for one simple reason - no one want's to be sold to. Not to say that this direct approach doesn't work, for some it works good enough to stay afloat, but it's not something you can use to drive real, inbound interest in your services. Selling to prospects that you get on a sales call from 1 email or DM is extremely hard since you have to do the heavy lifting to educate them on the call and then you also have to sell them.
My goal is to turn this dynamic on it's head. Yes, we want to reach out to cold prospects. Yes, we want to run ads. But not to sell immediately. Rather, we're inviting and getting those prospects into our ecosystem where if they go through your educational materials like reports, case studies, how-to's AND have a real pain, they will come to you to solve it.
Let's break it down.
Traffic acquisition.
There's 2 channels I use to acquire traffic. Sometimes I use both, sometimes one or the other. For the most part that depends on the TAM and what we're selling.
1 - Paid ads (LI and META) are great if you need volume and your deal size varies between $5k - $20k. If you get it right, it's a system that scales easily so you can control demand and growth fairly easily too. It's also very quick and easy to troubleshoot since you can change a variable and see the result in next 3 days.
The ultimate goal of paid ads is to get as many people in your funnel as possible. The only logical way to do it is using lead magnets. Industry specific reports with unique insights that only your ICP would care about, easy-to-code tools that only your ICP would find useful (calculators work great for me), guides and courses made to solve a very specific problem, you get the picture.
We're giving away this free value in exchange for their email address. I can already hear people yelling "But giving away stuff for free only attracts freebie seekers" That's because you don't have a mechanism in place to convert that opt-in into a deal. (I'll go into in the next sections)
To make a great lead magnet I follow this mantra:
  1. Has to be industry and role specific
  2. Has to solve 1 painful problem for the lead
  3. No surface-level, bait-and-switch teasing BS. (using lead magnet as a sales page is a big no-no)
Lead magnet is your chance to build rapport, show your competence and build good will by actually helping your prospects before you ever speak with them. USE IT WISELY. I see many businesses only tease the solution. My advice - give away all your secrets. If you're vague, your leads will think that your approach is basic and you won't capture the interest.
For us, around 20% of lead magnet leads opt-in into the next step of the funnel where we ask much more details. Company name, website, name, phone, etc, etc.
Do this step right and you'll get leads from your ICP opting into your funnel in droves, for cheap.
One little hack I do whenever I launch lead magnet campaigns is create 5-10 lead magnet ideas, create the ads and the landing pages, but don't create the lead magnet itself. Then run ads to those 5-10 lead magnets and see what your cost per lead is AND see what quality leads you attract. My baseline KPI's are sub $15 CPL on the initial launch and 3 out of 10 leads be real, actual companies that fit the ICP.
If you hit that initially, you can reiterate on the ads and the LP and get your CPL way lower.
2 - Cold outreach (LI and email) is great if you're after high ticket or enterprise level deals.
Cold outreach is great for huge target markets and/or very high value accounts. You won't reach Elon Mush through ads, but you could through cold outreach.
Instead of blanket-spamming 10k leads that might or might not need our service we do this.
  1. Score companies based on fit (we use AI for this on scale by giving it bad fit examples, medium fit examples and great fit examples while also describing why each is bad, medium or great. Then we ask to output a score from 1-10)
  2. For companies that score 7 or higher, look at buying signals. Recent hires, open positions, growth or decline, recent funding, featured in news (why featured in news?) and, of course, technographics.
  3. Companies that display positive signals AND are a fit based on scoring, we send a personalized message automatically.
90% of this happens automatically at this point, but don't get confused - it's not AI copy that gets sent out. We have a general template and framework that we base our messages upon and AI fills in the blanks. All that is based on what information we find on the companies and what state they're currently in.
"Hey Adam, saw that Houberz is looking for an engineer with deep understanding of X. I know first hand how hard it is to fill such roles.
I have a case study on how we did Y using X technology, thought you might be interested in giving it a quick read before you pull someone onboard."
This is the general gist of it. Combine it with reaching out to leads that are likely in-market and you'll average 15% reply rates. Blast 10k emails to random list and you'll get 0.5% - 1% reply rates.
That is how we get qualified traffic on the front end.
This is how we convert it into deals.
1.1 - Paid
Once you have people claiming your lead magnet, the magic happens on the thank you page. I've seen many people just have a generic thank you page that does not prompt the next action.
Wasted digital real estate.
Instead of leaving it blank, we either have a call booking page where we pitch a non-sales call that would help fix the lead a specific problem or a signup page for a live workshop.
2nd has higher opt-in rate, but has longer time-to-deal, 1st gives you 1-1 time with high value prospects, but is more expensive..
Ideally, run both. Best of both worlds.
On top of that, when someone opts in and claims your lead magnets, you can then email them on a regular basis as part of your newsletter which gives you another channel to nurture leads and throw offers their way.
2.1 - Cold outreach
As soon as you receive a positive response to your lead magnet offer, you send it over, find that person on LI and connect (so you have another channel and they see that you're a real human) then ask if they're struggling with a specific problem that your service can fix.
If they do, great, share more case studies, share how they could solve the problem themselves and then soft-pitch a meeting in which you propose to "continue the conversation"
For cold, each convo will be different so you will have to come up with helpful and relevant email responses on the fly.
Remember speed-to-lead. The faster you answer, the higher the chance of you pushing the lead to the next step of your funnel.
So do you need both of these acquisition channels? Do you also need to post on Linkedin and dance on Tiktok?
Depends on your business. Generally, the more eyes you have on you, the more deals you'll close. These two channels are foundation for myself and any business I consult, but to supplement that and build credibility, we're also heavily investing in LI organic.
Why? People who watch your ads and engage with your emails will check out your LI eventually. If it's barren, you won't leave an impression. If it's packed with valuable, funny, insightful and humanizing posts, not only your leads will connect with you, but they'll feel compelled to engage.
So it's not one system or another - it's all of them working in cohesion.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

2024.05.14 11:10 KGeedora How do you see this tour progressing setlist wise?

I'm going to (what I think) is the final show of the tour in Sydney, Australia. Curious what people predict will happen setlist wise? I like Dark Matter but to be honest, I only need a few songs off that at most. I'm also one of those freaks who doesn't love Ten as much as No Code, Yield, Vs...even Binaural and Riot Act.
I'll be happy with whatever, but curious to how people see the setlist progressing in 6 months time.

  1. Evaluate Course Content and Curriculum:
Content and Curriculam
After creating a shortlist of courses aligned with your IT aspirations, dive deeper to assess their curriculum. The strongest program will provide a thorough exploration of the subject, not just a surface-level introduction. Hands-on experience is vital in IT, so prioritise courses with opportunities to apply your knowledge through practical exercises. Real-world projects or internships are like gold – they'll give you practical experience and make you a much stronger candidate in the eyes of potential employers. Beyond the course content, consider practicalities like duration – how much time can you realistically dedicate to your studies? Think about the learning format – classroom setting for structure or online for flexibility? Finally, some employers value accreditation from a reputable institution, so factor that in as well. By meticulously evaluating these elements, you'll be well-equipped to select the ideal IT course that launches you toward your desired career path.
  1. Seek Feedback and Recommendations:
Feedback and Recommendations
After shortlisting a few IT courses, don't stop there! Connect with IT professionals or graduates of those programs to get the inside scoop. Their real-world experiences can provide valuable insights you won't find in a brochure. Talk to them about the quality of the course, how relevant the curriculum is to actual IT jobs, and what the overall learning experience was like. This firsthand information can be invaluable for making the best choice for your IT education.
  1. Consider Certification and Credentials:
Certification and Credentials
Many IT courses offer certification upon completion, which can enhance your credentials and credibility in the job market. Research industry-recognized certifications relevant to your chosen field and consider courses that provide preparation for these exams. Holding certifications demonstrates your expertise and commitment to continuous learning, making you a more attractive candidate to employers.
  1. Evaluate Cost and Return on Investment (ROI):
ROI
Powering up your IT skills with courses is a great career move, but treat it like an investment. Before you enrol, do some budgeting. Factor in the tuition costs, any hidden extras like textbooks or software, and see if there's financial aid or scholarships to ease the financial blow. It's also smart to research the average salary in your chosen IT field. This will help you estimate the Return on Investment (ROI) and figure out how long it might take to see your education pay off financially.
  1. Stay Updated on Industry Trends:
The IT world is like a fast-moving river, with new tech and trends constantly popping up. Even after you choose a course and land your IT job, keep learning! Stay on top of industry developments, hot new advancements, and any emerging technologies relevant to your specialisation. There are tons of resources available, from ongoing learning programs to online courses. Keep feeding your IT knowledge to stay ahead of the curve and future-proof your career.

Ultimately, choosing the right IT degree is a crucial initial stride toward forging a rewarding career in computing. By carefully assessing your ambitions, exploring diverse specialisations, considering industry needs, reviewing course content, seeking advice, pondering certification, evaluating expenses, and staying attuned to industry shifts, you can make an informed decision tailored to your aspirations. Remember, the optimal course is the one that not only equips you with practical skills but also motivates you to pursue your professional goals fervently.

2024.05.14 10:51 mtufekyapan Marketing Guide For Shopify

Marketing is one of the most crucial operation for a Shopify store. There are lot’s of tactics Marketing is one of the most crucial operation for a Shopify store. There are lot’s of tactics to grow quickly and none of them not working. Well, if you looking for a way to create solid marketing plan, then this guide is for you. In this guide you’ll learn

Definition of Marketing

American Marketing Association defines marketing as activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. Source
What do you see here?
  1. Marketing is not about activities, it contains activities, set of institutions and process.
  2. Function of marketing is not generating sales. It’s creating, communicating, delivering and exchanging offerings that has value.
  3. In this post we’ll focus on Shopify stores marketing. However in the big picture marketing has not limited with companies. Marketing can be done within organization or society.
Let’s summarize what marketing definition for a Shopify store. Marketing will create, communicate, deliver and exchange offers that have value for customers. As you can see main subject in here is customers. Because of this, I’ll put customers as the center of this guide. Everything we’ll do has to something with them.

Market Research, Competitor Analysis and Defining Your Target Market

This is a practical guide for marketing so I want to continue with a hypothetical Shopify stores for each steps.
Let’s say we have a Shopify store that has some high-end, organic baby clothes targeting new parents.

Market Research

How can we do the market research?
Let’s say you have a new Shopify store that has less than 500 order per month. You can hire expensive agencies, expensive experts to research the market, create market reports for you, etc. Even if you do that, I highly suspicious if it helps you.
However you can talk with your new-parent friends. Ask them about how do they decide to buy baby clothes? What they are looking for before completing their purchases? Do they get any expert opinion before making buying decision? How do they search online and what they want to see? Is there any great YouTube channels about this.
Don’t have any friends? Checkout your friends not a new-parents but parents and ask similar questions to them. If you also don’t have them, try to make new born friends. I know how hard it is but let’s be honest here. If you don’t know anybody in your target audience, how do you manage to get know them? All of the successful stores I saw they have direct relationship with their target audience.
When you make your research with real people, then you can extend your project to online. Try to search as they do. What do you find? Deep in dive and take your notes.

Competitor Analysis

When you done this market research, you’ll also see there are some other brands. This is a huge subject but let’s call these brands as competitor for now.
Now it’s time to analyze them.
  1. Checkout their branding strategy.
  2. What are their value propositions?
  3. What is hot about them? Return guarantee, free shipping etc.
  4. What is not hot about them? Poor product or store design, low UX on the website, etc.
  5. What people think about them? Google reviews, Trust pilot reviews, product reviews on the store.
  6. Are there any partnership or influencer program they’re running?
  7. What is their Google/YouTube campaign strategy? Check it here.
  8. What is their Facebook/Instagram campaign strategy? Check it here.
Create a spreadsheet with all of this information. We’ll use this when working on positioning and marketing strategy.

Define Your Target Market

What do you say about our target market? Can all of new parents be our target market?
Nope, it can’t. You need to deep dive into your market and find a sub-segment, a niche that will need your products much better than anybody else and afford it easily.
This is what I called ideal customer profile (ICP). Check out what is ideal customer profile and how to create your ideal customer profile posts to learn more about the concept.
For our hypothetical store, ICP can be something like this;
Demographics
Psychographics
Pain Points
Needs
Buying Behaviors
After creating ICP, it’s important to spend some time on empathy map. Don’t forget to check it, too.
Now we know our baby clothes Shopify store market, customer’s buying process and our ideal customer profile.

Brand Identity and How to Create Your Branding

I’ll follow the American Marketing Association (AMA) in here too.
First look at brand definition. AMA defines brand as “any distinctive feature like a name, term, design, or symbol that identifies goods or services”.
Branding is for creating and managing your brand’s identity. It involves your mission, values, culture and public image.
I’m not an expert on brand, but I know how branding can be effective for your conversions and performance. Here are some checklist for you.
  1. Design consistency is the key. Your visual identity should be consistent across social media, Shopify store, emails, product detail pages, etc.
  2. Copy consistency is the key. Your communication style should be consistent across social media, Shopify store, emails, product detail pages, etc.
  3. Experience consistency is the key. Let’s say your brand looks like a high-end brand and when a new visitor visit your store first they see is an annoying popup saying want to get 10% OFF. This is simply how to destroy your brand.
  4. Craft a story and stick to it. What makes you create this brand? Faces behind the brand. This is a huge leverage for creating trust and building bonds.

Go-to-Market Strategy and Defining Your Marketing Strategy

So far we identified our target market and ideal customer profile. Check out competitors and creates the branding for our store.
Now it’s time to work on go-to-market strategy and crafting our marketing strategy.

Go-to-Market Strategy

Let’s say you recently launched your Shopify store or add a new line of products.
You need a plan to introduce your store or new products to the market. This is what we called go-to-market(GTM) strategy.
Main goal of the GTM is letting people know that there is a new brand or product line. It’s similar to launch marketing. Key message here is there is a new products/brand launched and it offer the best for you. Give it a try, you’ll love it.
All of your messages and communication should be parallel to this process.
Our focus is convincing people to try our products/brand. So I always offer a special campaign just for the launch to give people to a reason to try your products/brand.
For our hypothetical Shopify store we can run a special campaign for launch like;

Marketing Strategy

This is your plan of actions to sell or advertise your products. Now we can talk about selling part of the marketing.
Let’s say you have GREAT advertising creatives and a huge budget and just spending it. Don’t wait to crack the code and having lot’s of sales.
Your marketing strategy should be follow sales funnel. If you don’t have a high-converting sales funnel, you can’t expect people to buy from you. Check out How to Build High Converting Sales Funnel For Shopify post.
AIDA Sales Funnel Framework
Now we can continue with our hypothetical store example. We’re selling high-end, organic baby clothes on our store. We crafted our ICP, empathy map, work on branding and created our story.

Example Marketing Strategy

First step we’ll work on attention step. Our focus is getting attention of our target market attention.
We can create a educative e-book like “7 Harmful Chemicals Commonly Used in Baby Clothes and How to Avoid Them” and run some campaigns targeted new parents on social network (Facebook, Instagram or YouTube)
This ads will land on a landing page that gives brief information about why we should pay attention to chemicals in baby clothes for our little ones and make a promise like “I spend my last 5 years about researching chemicals on baby clothes and prepare this book for you and your little one”. Also there can be a quick video about our story explaining our expertise in this field and why we’re building this brand.
We can ask for their email address to share the book with them. When they enter their email address, we’ll send them this ebook.
After first email with the ebook, we can send a few more emails with easy to digest information about chemicals.
This will create an expertise image on our target customers and start to create a bond with them. Not a bad start, right?
At the same time we can use this content on our social media, right? Quick videos, infographics and posts about the chemicals in the baby clothes.
After getting a few thousands subscribers we can organize a webinar to answer questions. This will also a great content for re-used social media content and creating trust and expert image.
Then we can share a time-limited promotion with this people for a bundle. Like we’re running a campaign and these 5 chemical free baby clothes bundles 10% discounted until next week!
We can send emails about it and use this campaign for remarketing for only people who show interest in our e-book and webinar.
This is a very brief template of marketing plan.
Now let’s take a look at more common one.
It’s time for you. Which one do you want to choose? All of the experts recommending this without even asking who are your customers. Can you believe it?
Don’t forget that marketing strategy is not a hope. It’s a well documented plan of actions designed for turning strangers into customers.

Inbound and Outbound Marketing Channels

Inside the marketing strategy, channels plays a vital role. There are lot’s of ways to group channels. I’ll use most basic one.
Inbound Marketing Channels: With the inbound marketing your customers will find you and start the interaction. Most common channel for inbound marketing is organic search engine optimization.
After creating high quality content, when customers search something online, they can see your articles and first interaction happens.
Outbound Marketing Channels: With the outbound marketing you reach out to customers. Facebook/Instagram/YouTube ads, influencer marketing, display ads, podcast ads can be count in this category.
As you can imagine inbound marketing channels takes lot’s of efforts and time however over the time you’ll have organic marketing channel and it brings you customer without needing any budget.
Outbound marketing channels generally works with advertisement models and you need budgets to run these channels.
Most of time I recommend to start with outbound marketing channels and then invest inbound marketing channels overtime. Don’t forget to check Mastering Paid Ads For Shopify post.
Succesful marketing plans should be supported by high converting growth and conversion plans. Don’t forget to check Growth Guide For Shopify and Conversion Optimization Guide For Shopify too.
to grow quickly and none of them not working. Well, if you looking for a way to create solid marketing plan, then this guide is for you. In this guide you’ll learn

2024.05.14 10:34 ExternalFollowing I watched all 22 demos of OpenAI’s new GPT-4o. Here are the key takeaways we all should know.

GPT-4o was announced a few hours ago by OpenAI, and although the announcement livestream is great, the real gold nuggets are in the 22 demo videos they posted on their channel.
I watched all of them, and here are the key takeaways and use cases we all should know. 👍🏻

A. The Ultimate Learning Partner

What is it? Give GPT-4o a view of the math problem you’re working on, or the objects you want to learn the language translation of, and it can teach you like no other tool can.
Why should you care? Imagine when you can hook up GPT-4o to something like the Meta Rayban glasses: then you can always have it teach you about whatever you are looking at. That can be a math problem, an object you want translated, a painting you want the history of, or a product that you want get the reviews of online. This single feature alone has incredibly many use-cases!
🔗 Video 7, Video 8

B. The Perfect Teams Meeting Assistant

What is it? Having an AI assistant during Teams meetings, whom you can talk to the same way you talk to your colleagues.
Why should you care? Their demo didn’t expound on the possibilities yet, but some of them can be…
  • having the AI summarise the minutes and next steps from the meeting
  • having the AI look up info in your company data and documentation pages (e.g. “what’s the sales from this month last year?”)
  • having the AI work on data analysis problems with you (e.g. “create a chart showing sales over the past 5 years and report on trends”)
🔗 Video 5

C. Prepare for Interviews like Never Before

What is it? Have GPT-4o act like the company you’re interviewing for.
Why should you care? What’s changed is that the AI can now “see” you. So instead of just giving feedback on what you say, it can also give feedback on how you say it. Layer this on top of an AI avatar and maybe you can simulate the interview itself in the future?
🔗 Video 11

D. Your Personal Language Translator, wherever you go

What is it? Ask ChatGPT to translate between languages, and then speak normally.
Why should you care? Because of how conversational GPT-4o has become, the AI now helps not just with translating the words, but also the intonation of what you’re intending to say. Now pair this with GPT-enabled earphones in a few years, and you pretty much can understand any language (AirPods x ChatGPT, anyone?)
🔗 Video 3

E. Share Screen with your AI Coding Assistant

What is it? Share screen with your AI partner, and have them guide you through your work.
Why should you care? Now this is definitely something that will happen pretty soon. Being able to “share screen” to your AI assistant can help not just with coding, but even with other non-programmer tasks such as work in excel, powerpoint, etc.
🔗 Video 20

F. A future where AIs interact with each other

What is it? Two GPT-4o’s interacting with each other, that sounds indistinguishable from two people talking. (They even sang a song together!)
Why should you care? Well there’s a couple of use cases:
  • can you imagine AI influencers talking to each other live on Tiktok? Layer this conversation with AI avatars and this will be a step beyond the artificial influencers you have today (e.g. the next level of lilmiquela maybe?)
  • can this be how “walled” AIs can work together in the future? example: Meta’s AI would only have access to facebook’s data, while Google’s AI would only have access to google’s - will the two AIs be able interact in a similar fashion to the demo, albeit behind-the-scenes?
🔗 Video 2

G. AI Caretaking?

What is it? Asking GPT-4o to "train” your pets
Why should you care? Given GPT-4o’s access to vision, can you now have AI personal trainers for your pets? Imagine being able to have it connect to a smart dog-treat dispenser, and have the AI use that to teach your dog new tricks!
🔗 Video 12

H. Brainstorm with two GPTs

What is it? The demo shows how you can talk to two GPT-4o’s at once
Why should you care? The demo video is centered around harmonizing singing for some reason, but I think the real use case is being able to brainstorm with two specific AI personalities at once:
  • one’s a Devil’s Advocate, the other’s the Angel’s advocate?
  • one provides the Pros (the Optimist), the other gives the Cons (the Pessimist)?
  • maybe Disney can even give a future experience where you can talk to Joy and Sadness from the movie Inside Out? - that would be interesting!
🔗 Video 10

I. Accessibility for the Blind

What is it? Have GPT-4o look at your surroundings and describe it for you
Why should you care? Imagine sending it the visual feed from something like the Meta Rayban glasses, and your AI assistant can literally describe what you’re seeing, and help you navigate your surroundings like never before (e.g. “is what I’m holding a jar of peanut butter, or a jar of vegemite?”). This will definitely be a game-changer for how the visually impaired lives their daily lives.

🔗 Video 13

If this has been in any way useful, I hope you can check out RoboNuggets where I originally shared this and other AI-related practical knowledge! (The links to the video demos are also there). My goal is not "AI daily news", as there's already too many of those, but instead share useful knowledge for everyone to take full advantage of the new AI normal. Cheers! 🥚

How To Protect Your SEO Progress During a Website Redesign

I. Introduction

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a critical aspect of any successful online business or website. It helps to increase visibility, drive organic traffic, and improve overall online presence. However, when it comes to a website redesign, there is a risk of losing hard-earned SEO progress if the process is not handled properly. A website redesign can involve changing the structure, content, and technical components, which can negatively impact your search engine rankings and organic traffic if not managed carefully.
To protect your SEO progress during a website redesign, it's essential to follow a strategic approach that involves preparation, implementation, and monitoring. This article will guide you through the key steps to ensure that your website maintains its search engine visibility and continues to attract valuable organic traffic after the redesign.

Preparation

A. Conduct a thorough SEO audit

Before embarking on a website redesign, it's crucial to understand the current SEO performance of your existing website. Conducting a comprehensive SEO audit will help you identify the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. Here are some key steps to take:
  1. Analyze your website's performance: Use tools like Google Search Console and Semrush to analyze your website's performance metrics, such as rankings, organic traffic, and keyword visibility.
  2. Identify high-performing content: Determine which pages, blog posts, or other content assets are driving the most organic traffic and generating the highest rankings. These will be your priority to preserve and optimize during the redesign.
  3. Assess backlink profile: Evaluate the quality and quantity of backlinks pointing to your website. Backlinks are a crucial factor in search engine rankings, and it's essential to maintain or improve your backlink profile during the redesign.
  4. Analyze technical SEO aspects: Assess your website's technical SEO components, such as site speed, mobile-friendliness, structured data implementation, and crawlability. Identify areas that need improvement to enhance the overall user experience and search engine visibility.

B. Plan your redesign with SEO in mind

Once you have a clear understanding of your website's current SEO performance, it's time to plan your redesign strategy with SEO as a top priority. Here are some key steps to take:
  1. Define your SEO goals: Determine what you want to achieve with the website redesign in terms of SEO. This could include improving rankings for specific keywords, increasing organic traffic, or enhancing the user experience to boost engagement and conversions.
  2. Identify areas for improvement: Based on the SEO audit, pinpoint the areas that need improvement, such as site architecture, content optimization, mobile responsiveness, or technical SEO factors.
  3. Develop a clear strategy: Create a detailed plan outlining how you will maintain and enhance your SEO performance during and after the redesign. This should include strategies for content migration, URL structure optimization, redirects, and other critical SEO elements.

C. Back up your website

Before proceeding with the redesign, it's essential to create a complete backup of your existing website. This backup should include all website data, content, images, databases, and any other relevant files. Having a backup will serve as a safety net in case any issues arise during the redesign process, allowing you to revert to the previous version if necessary.
Backing up your website is a crucial step that should not be overlooked. It provides peace of mind and ensures that your valuable data and content are secure throughout the redesign process.

Implementation

A. Work on a staging environment

When implementing the website redesign, it's recommended to work on a staging environment or a development server separate from your live website. This approach allows you to test and troubleshoot any potential issues without affecting your live website's performance or user experience.
Working on a staging environment provides several benefits:
  1. Testing and debugging: You can thoroughly test the redesigned website, including its functionality, design, and SEO elements, without impacting your live site.
  2. Collaboration and feedback: If you're working with a team or agency, the staging environment allows for collaboration and feedback before pushing the changes live.
  3. Minimize downtime and disruptions: By testing and resolving issues on the staging site, you can minimize downtime and disruptions for your live website's visitors during the redesign process.
Once you're satisfied with the redesigned website on the staging environment and have addressed any potential SEO concerns, you can proceed with launching it on your live domain.

B. Match the structures of the old and new websites

One of the most critical aspects of protecting your SEO progress during a website redesign is maintaining the existing URL structure as much as possible. Changing URLs can lead to broken links, lost link equity, and potential ranking declines if not handled correctly.
To mitigate these risks, try to match the URL structure of your new website with the old one. If any URL changes are unavoidable, implement proper 301 redirects to ensure that search engines and users are seamlessly redirected to the new URLs.
Implementing 301 redirects is crucial for preserving your existing link equity and preventing any potential ranking drops due to broken links or lost pages. Search engines will recognize the redirects and transfer the authority from the old URLs to the new ones.

C. Optimize your content for target keywords

During the redesign process, it's essential to ensure that your content remains optimized for your target keywords. Search engines rely heavily on content relevance and quality when determining rankings, and neglecting content optimization can negatively impact your SEO performance.
Here are some key steps to take:
  1. Keyword research: Conduct thorough keyword research to identify the most relevant and valuable keywords for your business or website.
  2. Content optimization: Optimize your content for the target keywords by incorporating them naturally into your title tags, meta descriptions, headings, and body copy.
  3. Structure and organization: Ensure that your content is well-structured and organized, using clear headings and subheadings to improve readability and semantic relevance.
  4. Quality and value: Focus on creating high-quality, valuable content that provides real value to your target audience. Search engines prioritize content that meets user needs and delivers a positive user experience.
By optimizing your content for the right keywords and maintaining high-quality standards, you can ensure that your redesigned website continues to rank well and attract relevant organic traffic.

D. Improve website speed and mobile-friendliness

In today's digital landscape, website speed and mobile-friendliness are crucial factors that impact both user experience and search engine rankings. During a website redesign, it's an excellent opportunity to address these aspects and optimize your site for better performance.
  1. Website speed optimization: Optimize your website's code, images, and other assets to improve loading speed. Techniques such as minification, compression, and leveraging browser caching can significantly enhance website performance.
  2. Mobile-friendly design: Ensure that your redesigned website is fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices. With the increasing number of users accessing the internet via mobile devices, having a mobile-friendly website is essential for providing a seamless user experience and maintaining search engine visibility.
By improving website speed and mobile-friendliness, you not only enhance the overall user experience but also align with search engine best practices, which can positively impact your rankings and organic traffic.

E. Submit your new website to search engines

Once the redesign is complete and you're satisfied with the new website's performance, it's time to submit it to search engines like Google, Bing, and others. This step helps search engines discover and index your new website more quickly, ensuring that your pages are properly crawled and ranked.
Here are some steps to follow:
  1. Submit your sitemap: Create an updated XML sitemap for your new website and submit it to search engines through their respective webmaster tools or search console platforms.
  2. Request indexing: Use the tools provided by search engines to request indexing or re-indexing of your new website's pages.
  3. Monitor indexing progress: Keep an eye on your website's indexing progress through the search engine tools and address any issues or errors that may arise.
By proactively submitting your new website to search engines and monitoring the indexing process, you can ensure that your redesigned site is properly indexed and visible to users searching for relevant keywords and content.

Monitoring and Maintenance

A. Monitor your SEO performance

After launching your redesigned website, it's crucial to monitor its SEO performance closely. Regular monitoring will help you identify any potential issues or declines in rankings, traffic, or other key metrics, allowing you to take corrective action promptly.
Here are some key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor:
  1. Keyword rankings: Track your rankings for your target keywords using tools like Google Search Console, Semrush, or Ahrefs.
  2. Organic traffic: Monitor your website's organic traffic levels through tools like Google Analytics to ensure that your redesign hasn't negatively impacted your visibility and user engagement.
  3. Backlink profile: Keep an eye on your backlink profile to identify any lost or gained backlinks during the redesign process. Backlinks are a crucial ranking factor, and significant changes can impact your SEO performance.

Backlinks are a crucial factor in search engine rankings, as they represent the authority and credibility of your website in the eyes of search engines. During a website redesign, it's essential to maintain and improve your backlink profile to protect and potentially enhance your SEO progress.
  1. Monitor your backlinks: Use backlink analysis tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, or Moz to monitor your existing backlinks. Keep track of any lost or gained backlinks during the redesign process.
  2. Disavow spammy or low-quality links: If you identify any spammy or low-quality backlinks pointing to your website, disavow them using the appropriate tools provided by search engines. This will help prevent potential penalties and ensure that your backlink profile remains clean and authoritative.
  3. Acquire new, high-quality backlinks: Implement strategies to acquire new, high-quality backlinks from reputable and relevant sources. This can include guest blogging, creating linkable assets (e.g., infographics, guides, tools), or reaching out to industry influencers and bloggers for potential collaboration opportunities.
  4. Internal linking optimization: Ensure that your internal linking structure is optimized on the redesigned website. Proper internal linking can help distribute link equity across your pages, improve crawlability, and provide users with a better experience by guiding them to relevant content.
By maintaining and improving your backlink profile, you can protect and potentially enhance your website's authority and credibility in the eyes of search engines, contributing to better rankings and organic traffic.

2024.05.14 10:25 Original-Loquat3788 The Peace Portal

He did not have much, and everything he did have was from after he fled.
Sean, his boyfriend, sat up on the bed, and they both looked at the painting.
It was simple and probably too postmodern for anyone who didn’t understand the meaning.
The painting was a plane ticket, his plane ticket, a name and a bar code, which had saved his life.
Where he came from, men like him were thrown from rooftops.
‘It’ll be ok,’ Sean said, ‘It’s just a symbol.’
‘They said the same thing after the last arms deal, and how many did that symbol kill?’
He thought back to when the plane had taken off, and he’d breathed properly for the first time in his life.

It was called the Peace Portal, but essentially it was a tunnel through space-time.
Until then, the technology had only been used by the military, and it was a huge coup for his former government.
He had to see it in action, so he went down to Liberty Square.
The portal was a kind of membrane, like looking at your hand underwater.
The President stood on the stage and gave a speech about the collapse of borders and freedom permeating the hearts of all men.
And then, it was time for the ribbon cutting.
He shivered.
A disembodied hand came from the other side and, with a comically large pair of scissors, snipped.
At this, his former King walked through and shook hands with The President.

The first reports surfaced and were quickly labeled fake news by a vast army of disinformation bots.
His boyfriend grew weary of the constant suspicion, and it led to arguments.
‘Go on, say it! I’m paranoid.’
‘Not exactly paranoid, but I’m guarding my tinfoil more closely.' Sean replied.
He didn’t laugh. ‘You’ll never understand; you grew up here.' He gestured around their 14th-floor apartment. ‘Where I come from, if you’re not paranoid, you die.’
Sean kissed him on the forehead. ‘You’re safe now.’

It was 2.30 am when the doorbell rang.
He bolted upright.
Sean was in the living room pulling an all-nighter.
‘No!’
It was too late; Sean opened the door and was batted aside by men dressed all in black holding a list.
He had not spoken his native tongue for a long time and, in his shock, could only blurt out, ‘The roof?’
It would not be so bad, he thought, to die a liberated man.
‘The roof is too good for you, scum.’
He was put in a car and driven quickly through quiet streets.
At the last moment, they removed his hood.
‘We want you to see,’ his kidnapper said, ‘the end of your old life.’
The city lights twinkled around him, and in front was the watery membrane. Through it, the visage of the setting sun.
He went to scream, but it was swallowed up as he tumbled through the Peace Portal.

2024.05.14 10:17 at_2004 Prank for a Stone Cold Principal

Prank for a Stone Cold Principal
Queen of petty and great sovereign of potatoes, hear my plea and I hope you do not judge me too harshly.
Ok, but all and all, I don’t think I did anything to over the top. Allow me to see the stage..
It’s my junior year of high school and it’s a few weeks into the new year where this story starts, my family and I had received news that my mom’s oldest brother, my uncle, had been admitted to the hospital suddenly and was having difficulty, it was especially hard for my grandparents and his two daughters. Naturally I was worried because it’s my uncle and I’m hoping that he’ll be okay, I come to find out after getting back from school that day and after picking up my brothers from school that he had passed away a bit before we had gotten home. I was devastated along with the rest of my family and everyone was making plans to fly to my grandparents house.
I did the usual song and dance of letting teachers know I would be gone along with brief reasons why including: it’s a funeral, I was staying with my grandparents and they don’t have the best internet, likelihood of any schoolwork being done was slim, please be understanding, you get the picture. Well, sometime after the actual funeral and I went to briefly checked my email because a couple of friends had been checking in on me via school email. My emotionally, physically and mentally exhausted self saw that there was an email from my Spanish teacher (who a quick FYI is also the principal, for the sake of the story is being dubbed Medusa) who said I should still be doing schoolwork and following COVID regulations regardless of the reason, while I was grieving my uncle.
And let me just say, it got worse after I got back to school. Shortly after getting back, Medusa called on me to give a presentation which I hadn’t known about beforehand and she KNEW why I didn’t have it done. She was the only teacheadult who was completely unsympathetic to my situation, even going as far as to say she had expected more from me and she was disappointed, not to mention I was already struggling to catch up in the rest of my classes so Medusa wasn’t a special case in lagging behind.
I’m sorry- but what in the ever living name of the mother of sanity did you think would happen?! I was acting like a robot for quite a while so pardon me if I’m not up to your standards lady (sorry, there’s still a lot of annoyance and anger towards this woman but it’s way more diluted than it had been originally), any respect I had for her as an adult died that day. So when the opportunity came to came her at the very least some minor inconvenience and petty vengeance for me, I took it (not entirely necessary or important to the story but Medusa is an older woman who via the school gossip grapevine was apparently a former nun, not sure how that makes sense but not my circus, not my monkeys).
A little of context for how it went down: I went to a private Catholic high school in town (I doubt anyone from there is in this thread but hello!) that had a dress code/uniform situation going on, school polo and shorts/pants in black or khaki. Anyways~ a friend of mine, calling her N, came up with the great idea of pranking the entire school population on our school computers/ emails with a free dress day (wear anything within reason), and then the email that would be sent out detailed it would set for Friday. Granted, the email had been intended to be sent by at least one person from every grade in our friend group, what ended up happening was that N and I drafted up the email on my computer because it wouldn’t hurt me as much and Medusa had it out for her, I didn’t mind since I wanted back at her. N sent the email to everyone in our grade, but it went sideways afterwards.
Later as about 10:00 that morning, I was called to Medusa’s office who had the email “I” sent pulled up. She then proceeded to all but yell at me that parents were calling the school about a supposed free dress day, how it was incredibly inappropriate and dangerous to pull something like this (it really wasn’t, this is honestly way more tame than what we had originally planned), someone could have been hurt and to come forth with anyone else involved, thanks little oops I made while trying to stay calm and not cry. I didn’t because I wasn’t about to throw N under the bus, and I was honestly fed with medusa and her bs. She eventually sent me back to class which took even longer because I just about collapsed and was so close to crying.
I was questioned if I was alright when I got because at this point everyone knew about or read the email, told them I was fine and stuck to that til my friends got their hands on me because Principal Medusa already had a reputation. I told them the details, I got my eyes more red than I would have liked but I would ok.
The kicker? The goddamn freshmen had been given permission, and by extension the rest of the students did as well, for a free dress day. I lost it and said/quote “That’s freaking bullshit!” Luckily for me, the teacher I had during that class didn’t take too much offense to me swearing and had heard through the grapevine. At this point, I still don’t know if it had been pressure from teachers, students, what I did, or a combination of everything that did it. But I don’t care, I caused her some trouble and I felt accomplished for it!
I still have the pic I took about the project lol. Should be visible for yall, but either way, I don’t think I was too bad, but do you all think?

2024.05.14 10:17 DroopyPopPop A Game Artist Learning C# Programming in Unity: Evaluate My Learning Approach and Share Your Insights.

Hi guys, I'm a game artist working in Unity for 3 years now. I have artistic background doing 2D, 3D and animations. I have no prior experience in programming and very basic knowledge of mathematics. I wish to learn C# and Unity to be able to prototype my own game ideas in my free time. I feel very insecure about whole process so I wanted to share with you my approach and ask you for opinions and advice. I started with quite comprehensive Udemy tutorial on C# by Panjuta, but in about 40% I realized I get easily frustrated with this learning and got impression it's quite distant from things I wanna do (which is kind of RPG and narrative games prototypes) and does not involve Unity too much. Considering I'm doing this in my spare time with full time job and family, I wanted to make sure, the path I take will put me in "doing mode" immediately, so I can make sure it's even thing I wanna do and am capable of doing. So I abandoned this tutorial which left me with basic understanding of C# syntax. Currently I'm going through Gamedev.tv RPG bundle tutorial, which is going well. So far I have a state machine for my character, which is walking and running about. Feels good. I like it, I like the process and I like the problem solving. Although I am not able to drift away from what's going on in tutorial too far (if at all) so I'm completely reliant on what's going on in them. Now I'm breaking down the state machine to analyze it bit by bit to understand how it's working exactly code-wise, so I can re-write it by myself. QUESTION! Will this lead me anywhere? I sort of feel like I'm learning programming by heart and try to memorize things at first and just hoping I will be able to wrap my head around it later on. I really want to make it work. Any thoughts guys? Will this work? Thanks!

2024.05.14 09:56 manuka_miyuki How can I prepare for my second driving lesson?

hi, i previously made a thread a few days ago about my first driving lesson, so click on my profile to read it there if you're interested!
i'm attempting to go forward with the lessons as anxious as i am, but to be honest, i don't know how else i can prepare other than just winging whatever happens on the day. i'm one of those people who can read hours and hours worth of highway code, but once i'm on the road, i forget literally everything, my mind is blank and it's as if i've never studied before. i know they say you get used to it once you do it so many times, but i'm scared of being 'too slow to learn' and my instructor getting impatient despite me ending up paying her more in the long run from it... lol
i feel like there's basic things to remember such as the checklist before you turn your car on and drive, but i can't even remember the order of something as basic as that. seat, belt, mirrors and then something else? there's so much to cram in and it's overwhelming so i'm just trying to take things in baby steps, but so far the steps my instructor has given me have been larger than expected. what should i definitely know by now, and what can i try and really brush up on before i start my second lesson?
also, for UK people (cus idk if it's a worldwide thing), when do i take my theory test? my dad tells me i should look into it really soon but it seems quite early...

Prologue

Hello and welcome to my post. I will subdivide this into two large parts. One will cover my thoughts, feelings, my hopes and dreams...While the other will tell you the specifics of how I pass the time, what topics interest me, what passions do I posses. I believe that at the end of this leap into my inner world, you dear reader, will have all the necessary information to judge whether we are compatible or not.

Part I
I am writing this in the hopes of finding something that I lack. Lately I have had this feeling, this tinge of melancholy within the dephts of my being, this yearning to find a kindred spirit, another Soul, much like mine, to form a bond with. Perhaps Loneliness is the right word for what is bothering me, but to use it seems to carry with it a connotation of ungratefulness. Ungratefulness for the people that I do have in my life, although none of them, of course, have the connection to me that I seek here.

I have found it increasingly necessary to seek in this Life a sort of purity of thought. What I mean is, I have began to undestand what ideas and concepts are ultimately compatible with my inner most Self, ergo what guidelines I have to follow to feel the most whole. Naturally I have likewise realised what I cannot add to my Self and what I will henceforth reject with all the power that I posses.

With this new context in mind, I now follow on the path of self improvement. I will now begin to mold my Self into my perfected idea of how the Self should be. This is certainly a significant undertaking, one that will not be easy to follow through on but one that I ultimately have to do. To me such context is essential. It is akin to a Guiding Star shining in the night. I will follow this Star for without it I am lost in the vast Darkness.

Looking back at my life, it was suboptimal, especially if one compares the way it molded me to how I will now mold myself. I suppose I must look on with a hint of regret at all that time which one might consider to be lost. Still... I try to stave off such decisively negative interpretations, after all, I have ultimately came to these conclusions. That means that somewhere along the line I had to have picked up on enough of such ideas for them to become so cemented in my consciousness. Well, either that or I was always like this, but in that case I can at least thank my life up to this point for not being able to supress such manifestations of my inner most Self.

To add to the topic of my life, I must admit that not all the battles have yet been won, not all the Demons vanquished, not every Mountain climbed. I want you to keep such things in mind when deciding whether or not to approach me. Many will shy away, I undestand that much, but the pursuit of true Companionship is just another such battle. Having said all that I do believe that being able to overcome hurdles together carries with it a certain appeal. That is to say, what's the fun in joining once the Game is already over?

I don't shy away from such challenges, perhaps to a fault. Certain troubles that I faced in the past carry with them a long shadow over my current health and well being. Still, I intend to change little in this regard other than the proficiency with which I will clash the current of my Will against the cliffs of Life.
Part II
In this part of my post I will tell you about my interests and hobbies, I will try to be thorough, commonality in this regard is rather important to build a relationship
History. I have had an interest in history for almost a decade now, it started back in school and developed from there. Well, now that I think about it one could argue that it started even earlier in my life as I liked watching the odd historic documentary or film aired on television but it wasn't regular back then, I never actively sought it out. I am mostly interested in European history in the period between the 18th-20th century but I sometimes branch out to other time periods and other parts of the world. I watch various channels related to history and read articles and sometimes books. I have recently got a few books on the German revolution of 1848/1849 and a historical magazine on the Thirty Years' War. Besides that I try to visit museums sometimes.
Literature. Especially old novels. I like to immerse myself in the Worlds of these books, I tend to read them while listening to thematically fitting music and take my time with them. One time you are following a troubled Youth in his quest for spiritual understanding of the world, another you see the aged and decrepit Doctor gambling his very Soul on the promises of abtaining satisfaction in earthy pleasures, then again your olfaction notices the most pleasant scent known to man even as the one eminating it has the appearance of a revolting Frog. These and many other stories open up to you once you decide to set foot into the literary World.
Languages. I know three, with one being a bit rusty. I am currently working intently on strengthening it. I believe that if I continue to apply myself in this regard then I should be able to finally conquer it. What language am I working on? Well, if you were to stack all the major works in it they would be as tall as a house... It is fun to go through different works in multiple languages, the same goes for film, games and such.
Games. I recently played Cyberpunk 2077. Well as recently as I played any major story centric game. Now that the dust has settled and the bugs mostly removed...It's not that bad. The main questline at least. Besides that I tried Fallout 76 (Very average, I'm dissapointed with what they made the "RPG" system) and I might give Deus Ex Manking Divided another spin (since it's somewhat similar to Cyberpunk when it comes to its aesthetics). Dark Souls is one of my favorite series, I still haven't beaten Elden Ring though. When it came out I wasn't in the right mindset to invest a hundred hours into it, with all those bosses and difficult locations. I think I'll only consider playing it if I am streaming it to someone. I am generally interested in either streaming games or having the person I am talking to stream them to me. To be specific I mean streaming to a single person while being on call. Besides that I'm a big fan of Paradox strategy games, especially Europa Universalis IV and Heats of Iron IV, I tend to only play single player since I find multiplayer with many people to be rather stressful but on the other hand I have nothing against a co-op game. I'm not the best player though, despite the ammount of hours I have in them. Another great game I would mention would be Dragon's Dogma. A very underrated RPG. I recently beat it again and it was an atmospheric and interesting experience. It is one of those games that feel like they have an endless ammount of depth and constant new secrets to discover.
Anime and Manga. In recent times my interest in them has waned but I still watch the occasional series here and there. Like Cyberpunk Edgerunners (Which I found to be rather mediocre) and the very good first season from the new arc of Bleach. Some of my favourite series include: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Fate;Zero, Psycho Pass, Code Geass and Attack on Titan. I wouldn't mind if you were to introduce me to some new series, maybe based on the ones I mentioned. My favourite Manga is Berserk which I still follow, althought I am still not certain on the direction that the new author is taking. I suppose it really is a matter of contention whether a somewhat (or considerably warped) vision is better than an unfinished work. One could argue that a few novels remain unfinished and possess a macabre appeal to them as such.
Music. Classical music has a very special place in my heart. A few of my favourite pieces would be: Clair de Lune, Nocturne Op. 9 No.2, Devil's Trill Sonata, Danse Macabre, Valse Sentimentale, Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92: II. Alegreto (by Beethoven) and Suite from Swan Lake, Op. 20a: I. Scene. Moderato. There are more but these ones always invoke something in me when I listen to them. Besides Classical I also enjoy listening to Synthwave, old Western pop and J-pop, both modern and from the 20th century.
Esotericism. I am interested in things spiritual, mystical, magical and esoteric. I have read religios texts, magical grimoires, introductions to various schools of thought. It is interesting to me.
Epilogue
Hopefully I was able to cast the spotlight upon my inner World in a clear and unequivocal manner. I feel the need to add to the aforementioned that I am rather introverted, which means that I tend to dislike large social gatherings. I managed to condition myself to be able to endure the presense of large groups of people but it isn't something that I would seek out in most cases. Besides that I am neurodivergent and suffer from certain issues with mental health. I have to take medication to keep myself under control. They work well enough but certain days are harder than others. I respect the struggle that others have with mental health but in the context of a relationship I have my limits, no one with BDP for instance. I am also not looking for anything casual. I understand than one cannot demand depth and meaning from a conversation with an absolute stranger, that is akin to trying to build a sand castle right before the waves strike but I ask at least that you enter with a mindset that this might become something of significance. I also do want to say that I am completely Monogamous. My preference? The sickly, pale, intellectual who watches rain droplets slide down the window in Autumn. Lastly, if I enjoy the company of a person I tend to not want to let them go.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and have a good day. I ask that you send a DM instead of a chat and that you give your thoughts on my title in the opening of your message.
Goodbye...Or perhaps untill we meet again

The Day of the Jackal to me is one of the few novels whose movie adaptation is as good as the original novel. The movie revolves around the plot to assasinate French President Charles De Gaulle, by an underground organization OAS, who are furious at his granting independence to Algeria. The movie actually starts off with a failed assasination attempt on De Gaulle, followed by the execution of their leader Jean Bastien-Thiry.
The remaining leaders hire a professional British assasin who only goes by the code name of the Jackal( Edward Fox). With French intelligence getting wind of the plot, they put in the Dy. Police Comissioner Claude Lebel ( Michael Lonsdale), to lead the investigation.
The movie is more of a slow burn thriller, except the first shootout, there is not really much action. The entire movie is more of a cat and mouse game, between the police and the Jackal, who manages to be two steps ahead often. The way the Jackal manages to get fake identity cards, rifle is very well depicted, as also how he disposes off people in his way. The police investigation too is well depicted, the way they track down the plot, and get on the Jackal's trail.
Fred Zinneman was one really good director with classics like High Noon, From Here to Eternity, Oklahoma to his credit. In a sense this movie is quite similiar to High Noon, in the way the narrative builds up slowly to the climax. You don't have much of action per se, but you feel the tension building up all the way. And here you feel it as the Jackal, keeps moving once step closer to his mission.
Also Zinneman sticks to Forsyth's novel as is, without much changes, and that makes this movie even better. The detailing is as good as what you see in the original novel, be it the way the fake documents are made, or getting the rifle, smuggling it along, or the police investigation.
Two great performances one by Edward Fox as the Jackal, icy cool, manipulative, ruthless, he hits the right notes. The other is Michael Lonsdale as the cop Lebel, who brings in the energy to the role, he would later gain fame as the bad guy Hugo Drax in the Bond movie Moonraker.
This is the kind of slow burn thriller, where you need to watch every scene to understand the narrative, and the tension is the kind that builds up slowly. If you love these kind of movies go for it.

2024.05.14 09:31 SayGexFuttBucker Senior software engineers... Guidance for an undirected junior in the NZ software industry

TLDR: junior software engineer with no guidance at work, lots of freedom which is great but also struggling due to lack of experience (trial and error approach). Wanting to know how I can support myself so I can become better as a software engineer and well rounded for future opportunities.
Forewarning: long post incoming, thanks for reading.
I've been working for a few months for a relatively small business in Auckland, primarily as a junior software engineer. I've been working on implementing brand new integration systems which sit in the middle between in house software and a cloud based ERP system. Lots of python, REST API development and general data processing.
I'm in a bit of a unique situation, in that it's essentially just my supervisor and I. They are a sort of jack of all trades IT specialist, and are self taught when it comes to coding. I have a background in software engineering and computer science, but this is my first 'professional' software role, so I'm essentially junior in terms of years of experience.
I have been really enjoying the job, my supervisor comes up with ideas and requests for things they want to have built, and I go away and crack on with coming up with a solution. It's been tough, but good fun. It's been a very 'thrown in the deep end' experience but I feel as though I've learnt a lot since starting at the job, albeit through a lot of trial and error.
My main 'concern' is that it's not a very standard way of building software, so I'm not getting the exposure I would normally get in a larger team with regards to mentorship. We don't do sprints, or any of that sort of thing. There aren't hard deadlines. There isnt really much of anything in the way of how a normal team of engineers would operate in industry. I can discuss ideas and problems with my supervisor but they mostly leave me be to crack on with my coding, they are generally busy fighting other fires.
I'm trying to apply the things I've learnt during my time in University but I feel like I'm missing out on having anyone provide feedback. I'm also missing out on the broader picture. A lot of what I do is just 'okay what tools can I use here, do a bit of googling, okay this sounds reasonable let's flesh that out, okay that works keep adding on etc.', but it feels undirected. I don't know anything about best practice, or industry standards, I just do what I can with the little that I do know.
I'm worried about my growth in becoming a well rounded software engineer, for when I eventually decide to move on.
I guess what I would like to know is, what could I do to help myself broaden my skillset and fill in the gaps where I'm unsupported, so that when I do move on, I'm not in the shit due to a lack of oversight from a more senior engineer.
Furthermore, are there any specific book recommendations that could help round me out? What tech stacks are most common in NZ? Should I continue to dig deeper on my python skills specifically, or should I try to dabble with different technologies so I am more marketable (for when the job economy becomes better in the coming years... hooefully).
I'm essentially trying to figure out how I can plan for my own professional development.

2024.05.14 09:16 Alkyanne [A4F] I'll get the groceries! [Established relationship] [Personality switch] [2 speaker in a way] [Supermarket] [Shopping anxiety]

Author’s note : Everything’s free to use and monetize or paywall as you wish, just remember to credit me please. As I’m not a native English speaker, you can feel free to make slight changes to make it better, as long as it doesn’t change the whole story of course.
Summary, listener’s perspective : Your partner went grocery shopping a long time ago and you’re calling them to check up on them. Apparently a lot of things happened and stressed them a little too much, but they got help and they’ll finish it to prove to you they can handle it.
[ ] = stage directions
** = sound effects
[The speaker is at the supermarket wandering around, feel free to put crowd sounds, riding the cart etc… through all the script]
*Phone ringing\*
Uhm… Hello? Who is this?
You should be mistaken, I don’t have a girlfriend.
Yes. That’s my name. How… Oh. Wait. Did I… ?
Ah fuck…
Yes, we’re fine Ma’am. Don’t sound so worried.
I understand but…
Ma’am…
Oh! Shut up for a minute!
Too many questions. So, I don’t know. I guess we’re shopping since I have a cart in front of me and we seem to be… In a supermarket..
Yeah, so why are you asking if you already know we were supposed to go grocery shopping!
Whatever… No, I don’t know which one… They’re all the same honestly… Let me walk around to see if I can identify something…
[Speaker is walking around for a few second without saying anything]

[Speaker is stopping, they tone changed]
Hello?
Hi baby!! How are you doing? Why are you calling? Or did I call you?
Oh you did? Why?
Yes, it’s me. What’s wrong?
Oh… Really?
I’m sorry. But it’s fine, I promise.
I know baby but…
Why do you want to come? I can do this!
No I mean alone! I prepared a list and all, I can’t forget anything!
Uhm… wait.. Let me search for it…
[Speaker is searching in their bag]
Where did I put it…
Damn..
[Speaker is getting quieter]

[Back to the first tone of voice]
Ok. Ma’am. I don’t know where we are, really.. But it’ll be fine. We’re just going to finish this and go back home.
A list? Yes, I have one in my hand, it’s alright, please calm down.
I know, I can sense them around, they’re not far. It’s alright.
Oh god…
Ok… Toilet paper… Sexy…
Where is that…
[Speaker is walking again, searching for the stuff on the list]
Uhm… Ok, there we are… That’s done and then some soap…
Well, I’m staying with you on the phone because you seem completely panicked. So I’m showing you we got this.
Look… I don’t know what exactly happened that triggered it… But we’re alone in a big space full of strangers. Doing something important. I’m guessing that it’s a lot of stress for them and they needed me… It’ll be alright though.
Yeah, of course they’ll tell you they can do it. I’m sure they believe they can. And I’m sure they wanted to impress you and make you proud. But sometimes it’s fine to ask for help too.
Not like that! You don’t have to come, I’m here now. I got this. You don’t even know where we are. And you’re not going to come with your car. Have you not seen the price for gas?
I might not be around often but I keep an eye on the news.
Why do we need so many strawberries?
Uhm… I’m taking bananas too, I like that better.
[Speaker is getting quiet again, just walking]

[Change of tone, back to the partner one]
Baby? Are you here?
Yes, it’s me, I’m back. How did the cart fill itself?
Who?
Ohhh… But.. I could have.. I can do it!
I… There was this lady… She was searching for something and asked me. I didn’t know… I don’t know this place very well…
I don’t know why I didn’t go to the usual place!
Oh wait… They were out of gas! To put on the car. Did you see the price now?!
Oh… ok…
They might have seen it then… Yeah… I guess.. It was stressful because I didn’t know what to do. Where to go.. To get it.
Oh. I continued driving for a while… Because I… kinda froze. And I couldn’t park to look with the gps where to go… Well.. I could have! But.. Brain was silly and I couldn’t do it..
After a while I saw a sign for another supermarket and I followed it. I guess that’s where I am now.
What’s that noise?
Baby! It’s alright! You don’t have to come! I can do it! Especially if I’m not alone anymore. I mean.. I have help, we’ll do this!
I swear! There are not many more things on the list anyway. We can do this!
Wait… Why are there bananas here? I don’t like them. I’m going to put it back.
[Speaker is walking back to the fruits to put the bananas back!]
Alright. That’s done. So what’s left?
Some juices… It's on the other way. What else? Eggs, butter…
Ok! Let’s go!
It should be around here… Yes, got it! Then… That shouldn’t be far…
[Speaker is switching again]

Uhm… What the hell… Why am I here… What’s on the list? Eggs… How many… Hey! Ma’am? Still here?
Good, how many eggs do you want?
Alright, I got them.. What’s left? Juices… It’s on the other side… Wait! Where are my bananas!
I don’t care if they don’t like them! I do! I front sometimes! I can have things I like too! That’s not cool to only think of themselves!
I mean… That’s a fair point… But… I can’t know when I’ll be here! I’m here now.. And I want bananas…
What if I just took 1 or 2? Not too much, won’t be expensive!
Thank you, you’re kind. Crazy. But kind.
Have you not seen how you reacted earlier?! You *are* crazy!
I told you we’re fine. I bet they told you too. Have a little faith in us.
Yeah yeah… I understand… But honestly, we’ll tell you if it was that bad. We’re handling it quite well so far. Yes, a moment was overwhelming. And I had to come. But now we’re doing well.
Oh by the way! How do we pay? By card?
Do you know the code? In case that’s me in front when we’re at the checkout…
Alright, noted.
No not really, like in my head.
Really girl… I can memorize 4 digits!
Alright, alright… Give me a minute..
[Searching in the bag to get a pen and a piece of paper]

[Back to the partner tone]
I’m listening…
Uhm…. Baby, I know the code of my own card… Why do you want me to write it down?
Oh… Well, I just have the juices to get now. I think it’ll be fine.
Yeah… I’ll write it down anyway, just in case. I’m putting it on my right pocket, ok? You’ll tell them if they’re here and search for it?
Thank you baby. And…. I’m sorry about this… I wanted to do this…
I don’t know… To prove I’m capable..
I know. I am but it was just… A little too much I guess… I don’t think it would have happened if I could have gone to our usual place…
It’s alright though! I’ve got the juices! I have everything now. I’m going to the checkout and I’m coming home.
I’ll have to hang up while I’m paying.
Yes, I’ll call you back right after.
I promise. You’re the one who will call me if I don’t anyway!
Yeah, if you have to that means it’s probably not me on the other end…
But I’m not far away, baby, I’m not leaving. It was just too much for one time…
Oh yes, I’d love that! Thank you!
Yes yes! I’ll hurry up!
Love you too baby!

2024.05.14 09:15 Time_Confection_1187 I can feel and see my pulse when resting

I am a 26-year-old fit male (178cm, ~70kg, do calisthenics, wall climbing, running regularly, not drinking, not smoking, not on any medications) having issues with a bounding pulse. I have a normal heart rate (~50 when sleeping, 60-80 during the day, 187 was the largest I have measured during running) and normal blood pressure (110/70, sometimes it goes slightly over 120, which is "elevated"), but, for more than a year, I can feel and see my pulse when resting.
How it started: More than a year ago, I was really stressed. Many things added up, including family issues, a lot of work to do, finishing exams for the master's, starting a PhD, I was not sure what career path to choose, and preparing for my first public speech at a conference was also frustrating. That was the time when it started. I started to notice my heartbeat when resting, and then, at meetings, when I had to pay attention to others, I was entirely distracted by my heartbeat. I felt it mainly in my temple and neck. The strongest pulsation was the night before my conference presentation. I had a flight at night and arrived at my apartment, but there was no receptionist. As it turned out, there was an automatic check-in system, but my department (who booked the accommodation) forgot to forward me the email and the code. It was hard to reach anyone at night, but the awkward situation was solved after an hour. In addition, I was already nervous because I had never been to a conference, had never had to do small talk in English, or had never given a presentation to a lot of people in English. That night, I had difficulties falling asleep. All I could hear was my heartbeat, and the pounding in my temple was the strongest I had ever felt, which, of course, also increased my nervousness. Since then, although not that profound, I feel my heartbeat when resting.
After a while, I started to feel the pulse in my chest and some arrhythmias as well. I went to my GP, who sent me to a cardiologist. They were not really concerned about the pounding heartbeat, only the arrhythmias. My heart rate and blood pressure were normal, and the echocardiography and electrocardiography showed nothing. Then I had a Holter monitoring and had some NSVTs near bedtime that I could feel precisely. I was told to take magnesium, which made sense as I exercise regularly, and I always had muscle twitching basically all over my body. Since I take magnesium supplements, the arrhythmias and muscle twitching are gone, so I consider this matter closed.
I did some blood tests but found nothing worrying. As always, my total cholesterol and LDL are around the top, while the HDL is around the bottom threshold of the acceptable region. I have also checked for lipoA and apoB, as strokes have appeared among my ancestors, but they were also in the normal range. My morning serum cortisol was slightly elevated (789.4 nmol/L). My TSH was also slightly elevated (6.840 mIU/L), while free T3 and T4 levels were normal (which might be subclinical hypothyroidism, but I do not show the other symptoms).
This year was much less stressful. I tried to pay attention to not be anxious (I even started to meditate, although it did not go well, as all I could focus on when I calmed down and closed my eyes was my heartbeat). However, I can feel my pulse bounding ever since. (maybe it always was, but I have never attended to it before)
Do you have any ideas about what can be behind this? Maybe stress, something with my TSH, or perhaps all of it is normal, but I started to attend to it after my arrhythmias.
