Wireguard VPN works on LAN, but not WAN
Please bear with me as I'm not an expert. I've looked into other similar threads, but seems like majority of people are experiencing an opposite issue, where they can connect from outside of their network, but can't connect on LAN.
Goal: setup a Wireguard VPN server on my Archer C7 v5 ( running OpenWRT ) and connect to my home network when on the go with GL.Inet Beryl AX router. I've finally got it to connect on the client side, but only when connected to LAN, which obviously means that I've configured it wrong.
Would be glad for a nudge in the right direction, thank you!

2024.04.29 05:07 stonechair ARC Passthrough Problems

I had tried 5G Home Internet in early 2022, received an ASK cube. Passthrough wasnโ€™t even an option then. Cancelled and then tried again later in 2022 and got an ARC cube. Passthrough was an option but had some speed issues and issues with webpages not loading correctly.
Fast forward to now, 2024, I figured to give it a go again. Received an ARC cube and got Passthrough working on my ASUS router. Unfortunately, Iโ€™m still noticing weird website glitches (Hotmail.com takes forever to load). I canโ€™t believe there are still issues 2 years later. I read how the ASK cube got a fix a few months ago by Verizon. The ARC looks like firmware is still from June 2023.
Set MTU to 1428 and enabled IPv6 Passthrough on the ASUS.
I host my own VPN server on my ASUS so I really need IP Passthrough to work.
I did some searching around hoping to hear success stories but I guess there are still glitches.
Just my two-cent observations.
Am I missing any tweaks or settings to try?

He joins and it insta boots him from the game with a outgoing reliable buffer overflow error. anyone have any ideas? would moving the server to a dedicated server fix the issue?

I am about 3 years in on a multiplayer save and the game suddenly started crashing. It's crashing around 11:50am-12 almost every day. Some days it was fine and others it crashed with this in the error logs. Similar message for every crash. (I have checked all drivers, files, and graphics card and reset pc)

2024.04.28 04:38 Internal_Researcher8 Docker Mailserver: Local only -- not public facing....

EDIT #2: I decided that I must've corrupted something and since I had just started the process, I would bite the bullet and start over. I reflashed the hard drive and reinstalled everything. I was able to get docker-mailserver up and running -- thunderbird connected fine.

I have a RasPi5 with Docker and Docker-Compose installed. I want to use docker-mailserver locally (not exposed to the internet). When looking through the documentation for the mailserver, it all seems to assume it will be exposed to the public and that public DNS servers will point to it.
All I have right now is an IP address. So within the docker-compose file, I'm confused as to what I should enter for the HOSTNAME.
For the time being, this is more of a learning exercise but eventually, I want to have this retrieve mail from my remote mail server and my email clients (K9 Mail on my phone and Thunderbird on my laptop) will connect to this mail server to retrieve email messages. For a couple of decades, I've used a shared (cPanel) webhosting service. It works very well. But I'm running into storage issues.
I want to get around that by hosting the email locally (I've got a 1TB nvme drive installed on the RasPi5) while not exposing the mail server to the internet. I will continue to use the webhost for outgoing messages bypassing the local mail server completely for outgoing messages. This should avoid the issue of self-hosted email servers getting tagged as spam senders.
EDIT: I have pfSense running as my router. So I decided to add a DNS entry in the DNS Resolver. That points to my RasPi's IP address. So I entered that FQDN (mail.home.arpa) as the Hostname in the compose.yaml file.
When I run docker compose up, it exits with one of two error codes: on one attempt, it throws error 159. When I try again, it throws error 0. :(
ALSO: I have configured Wireguard so that I'll be able to access it from outside the home network (when I am eventually ready to actually use it) -- I don't intend to EVER have it exposed to the internet.

The documentation (https://docker-mailserver.github.io/docker-mailservelatest/config/user-management/) shows how to add a user. But when I run it, I get a message that "WARNING: The requested image's platform (linux/arm64) does not match the detected host platform (linux/arm/v8) and no specific platform was requested".

2024.04.27 21:22 MayContainYuri Help connecting Win 10 smb share to Unraid

I Have a rootshare set up so i can browse my Unraid shares from my PC. However, due to the unreliable nature of copying/moving files through windows file explorer I want to connect an smb share of my PC's drive to Unraid and use rclone or binhex-krusader.
But this I can't manage for some reason. I had it before and it worked well, but after some hardware reshuffling, new opnsense router and going back to win 10 because 11 pisses me off, I can't get it to work.
My setup: W10 PC: 192.168.10.10 OPNsense router with allow all outgoing rules in the firewall on both interfaces. I don't have a switch yet and not sure I'll bother getting one until i have more shit that needs ethernet, as i still have an unused interface. Unraid server: 192.168.20.110
I'm kinda worried the different IP ranges are the culprit as that would require either a vlan(I think?) or a switch. One of which I have no experience with and the other costing money.
I've enabled smb1, triple checked sharing settings and am trying to connect using IP instead of PC name, but no luck.
Thanks in advance!

2024.04.27 15:41 pumpernickel1337 qq -- Any idea on ssh connection closed by 22 port?

[SOLVED]
Hey ppl,
I am redoin some of the intro boxes just to make sure that everything I learned is still there.
Of course its not.
Any ideas what can cause a connection closed by 22 port on a target machine?
I already have the user flg and got username and pw from the target machine that I want to use for the ssh connection now but the connection is just loading and closed before it is even saying anything regarding fingerprint or password. sshpass is not working either just tried it to check.
google and gpt4 telling me those could be reasons
  1. Firewall Restrictions: The firewall might be configured to block incoming or outgoing connections on port 22.
  2. SSH Service Not Running: The SSH service on the target machine might not be running or configured incorrectly.
  3. Incorrect Configuration: There could be a misconfiguration in the SSH server settings or the client's connection parameters.
  4. Network Issues: There might be network congestion, packet loss, or other issues causing the connection to fail.
  5. Security Measures: The connection might be actively blocked due to security measures, such as intrusion detection or prevention systems.
But I feel like I am overseeing something stupidly obvious.
Any ideas?

Unable to send email on my MacBook Pro, but receiving just fine.
I keep getting this error message when Iโ€™m trying to send email from my MacBook Pro. Iโ€™ve tried the things that support.Apple recommended such as checking the status messages, I am able to send from yahoo.com, I removed and re-added my email account, rebooted my machine (duh), and added the SMTP server listed with the info for yahoo that I found online. Iโ€™m out of ideas here, does anyone have any suggestions?

2024.04.25 15:30 SugaryTwo IMAP and SMTP auto detect for adding an Outlook account

Why do you need to add the incoming IMAP server and port no and the SMTP outgoing server and port number when adding an Outlook account. IMAP and SMTP are required to be manually entered, usually this is auto detected and as it is a work email in a large company these are managed by the organisation. Can auto detect be enabled for this in the future or is there some workaround. It doesn't use the default Microsoft Outlook settings.

For external access, I created a VIP (VIP_WG) for [5.5.5.5:51820 -> 10.1.1.100:51820] that was originally bound to the WAN interface. I ended up changing it to any instead of the public interface so I could set the source zone as Guest.

This works perfectly fine for external users coming in.

This is not working. I have a user on the guest wifi who enables wireguard. I can see the policy being hit and the Bytes counter is increasing, but they are getting no response from the WG server.
Am I missing something obvious here? I just tried changing the incoming and outgoing interfaces to "Any" and will try in the AM when a user is onsite.

2024.04.25 12:38 MonyWony Setting up a Tor node - Cannot confirm reachability error.

Hello!
Recenlty I set up a TOR relay node on an old ASUS laptop that I installed Linux Mint on, and everything went without a problem. I followed the steps on the official Tor website.
However, whenever I start the node I get this error message from Nyx about 20 minutes after I start:
"Your server has not managed to confirm reachability for its ORPort(s) at [MyPublicIP]:433."
I am very much a beginner when it comes to this kind of stuff so keep that in mind lol.
I tried to enable the built in firewall in Mint and set a rule to allow incoming and outgoing connections to the port, but that didn't work. But what was interesting what that even when I run "telnet [MyPublicIP] 433" it says that I can connect (it didn't previously before I added the firewall rule).
I'm pretty sure that this issue can be solved my port forwarding, but I'd rather not dig into my router settings.
Does anyone know of any other possible solutions to rectify this problem?
Thank you very much for any help you can provide!

2024.04.24 17:24 anxiousinfotech Exchange Online Quarantining Mimecast Emails

For the past few weeks we've been encountering an issue with any customers of ours that use Mimecast for outgoing email. Their emails hit Exchange Online with an SCL of 1. SPF, DKIM, and DMARC all pass. The message is then reassigned an SCL of 9 by Exchange Online Protection and redirected to quarantine. There are no rules or policies causing this change.
We've opened tickets with Microsoft, who tell us the customer needs to contact Mimecast, usually claiming that Mimecast has something misconfigured (but with no willingness to cite what exactly). The customers have contacted Mimecast, who tell them we need to contact Microsoft. It definitely seems like the issue is on Microsoft's end, as the headers clearly show everything passing and and SCL (and BCL) of 1. It isn't until the Forefront-Antispam-Report entry in the headers where the SCL gets changed to 9.
Has anyone else been seeing issues on their tenant with Mimecast emails getting an SCL of 9?
Edit to add: We've checked every Mimecast IP/server address that has come through and none appear to be on any blacklists anywhere.

2024.04.24 14:07 assholeicecream Everytime I open Counterstrike this happens in my console...WHAT IS THIS?

THe text pasted at the bottom shows up in console when I INITIALLY LAUNCH THE GAME without having done absolutely nothing. I notice it updates when im playing the game on faceit after every round. This started in CS GO when I downloaded Tyloo something config , and ever since it has never went away. But because of performance issues I am having on CS2 I want to get rid of this once and for all. I have uninstalled STEAM and every single game in my library but it still shows up when I reinstall thee game and Steam. WHAT IS THIS? What can I do to get rid of it...? When I run my anti-virus and my spyware tool which is kaspersky it doesn't find anything wrong with it....so please help me if you can. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP

2024.04.24 06:40 Lazy_Dimension1854 my ego got shattered

its been around two months working at this restaurant job as a host and although i was a little down because i saw all the new hires making friends without me i was still feeling good about myself and my improvement and i genuinely believed that i wasnt the most socially anxious employee. However i went to the managers office after my shift and i asked if they could promote me to a server since I had just turned 18 and she said im not talkative or outgoing enough to do so, both with the staff and customers. it literally felt like a stab hearing ts because i always talk to the customers on their way to the tables when other hosts stay silent and when i first started working i was too scared to do that. it doesnt seem like a big deal but these situations always happen where i think im doing better and im apparently not in the eyes of other ppl and it just makes me wanna give up trying

2024.04.24 02:38 actual_pigeon Need help with configuring VPN kill switch on raspberry pi

I've got openvpn using my PIA credentials to connect me to the vpn. I borrowed a script from this guide and made some adjustments to fit my configuration. So I ran the script to be sure that it worked fine before making it permanent. I would stop the openvpn service, check my ip, and it would show that I'm still connected to the VPN. I would check the status of the VPN service and it would tell me it's inactive. Where as before running the below script, checking my ip after stopping the service would show my real ip.
I'm having a hard time knowing if the way I am checking my ip (curl ipinfo.io) is simply showing what I was last connected to or if somehow I am getting reconnected to the VPN even though sudo systemctl status openvpn-client@toronto.service shows as inactive. I'm worried that I can't trust the status when the script is running. Thanks in advance!

2024.04.23 23:28 damianvandoom Which appliance for SFTP routing?

Iโ€™m developing an architecture for products in our company.
I have a good working, hub and spoke setup with application gateway, azure firewall and VPN gateway which works for most use cases we have.
One of the product groups in a meeting today has advised that one of their systems uses SFTP to receive data from remote systems and that data must be received by a specific backend server, one of 19.
In their (outgoing) legacy environment, they expose the public IP of the individual server.
The remote systems cannot use DNS. IP only. I/they cannot change this.
I donโ€™t want to attach public IPs to the new servers in Azure as it completely goes against the design principles weโ€™ve set out.
What appliance can I put in my design which will allow me to associate a range of public IPs with it, route traffic to a backend server based on the public ip used, routed via my Azure firewall. (Using route tables).

2024.04.23 16:29 Juissi84 Packet loss issues

Hey I'm having a packet loss issue on outgoing connection, any ideas what could cause this?
None of the Youtube or website tricks could do much a difference.
I have 600/100 connection cat6e cable and done all the flushdns and so on allready.
Or is just the servers? Thanks.
(My ping during game is 32-40ms)
