I have always recommended in making minor changes to our daily lives to improve our overall health. As a diabetic nutritionist, I believe that managing type-2 diabetes without medication focuses on lifestyle modifications that can help control blood sugar levels effectively. Here are the key strategies:

1. Healthy Diet

A balanced and nutritious diet is crucial for managing type-2 diabetes. Key dietary recommendations include:

2. Regular Physical Activity

Exercise helps increase insulin sensitivity and manage blood sugar levels. Aim for:

3. Weight Management

Losing excess weight, especially abdominal fat, can significantly improve blood sugar control. Strategies include:

4. Monitoring Blood Sugar Levels

Regular monitoring helps you understand how different foods, activities, and stress levels affect your blood sugar. Use a glucometer to check levels at various times of the day and adjust your lifestyle accordingly.

5. Stress Management

Chronic stress can affect blood sugar levels. Effective stress management techniques include:

6. Hydration

Staying well-hydrated can help manage blood sugar levels. Drink water and limit sugary drinks, which can spike blood sugar.

7. Avoiding Smoking and Limiting Alcohol

2024.05.15 07:38 graceFut22 Electric mower fires?

Electric mower fires?
I've been watching her for a while and quite enjoy the channel. But this clip, not so much. She's totally against electric mowers cause they'll "burn your house down." Is there any truth to her claim? I know that ICE cars are more likely to combust than EVs and thought it was the same for electric mowers. I do love our Ryobi lithium zero turn and our eGo push mower! Every time I mow the lawn, I just think how a single hour of gas mowing emits as much as eleven gas cars for one hour. And I never have to change the spark plugs, clean the carburetor, change the oil, go to the gas station to get gas, stabilize the fuel for winter, clean my greasy hands, and so on. I know that some Ryobi lead acid diy battery replacements have gone awry and caused a fire, but haven't heard of any other fires.

2024.05.15 07:34 gavinwinks 2010 Isuzu NPR-HD gear oil change

2010 Isuzu NPR-HD gear oil change
Someone with experience on Isuzu NPRs help me figure this out. I’m doing a diff gear oil change on an isuzu NPR-HD. I have confirmed it has a limited slip diff.
Apparently it needs “SAE90 gear oil GL-5 for limited slip differentials together with limited slip additive.”
Is this not an overuse of the additive? Using limited slip gear oil plus 20oz of limited slip additive?
Locally I can only find 80w90 gl5 gear oil but with no additive in the oil included. Online I have found Motul SAE90 limited slip gear oil but it’s a mineral oil and the manual doesn’t say if you can use mineral or synthetic gear oil.
Maybe I’m over thinking this but I really don’t want to burn up this differential by not using the right gear oil.

2024.05.15 07:32 jjbkeeper Newb question - keep the bike healthy when it can’t be ridden.

I’m an absolute newb when it comes to owning a bike and have just inherited a 08 FatBoy from my dad’s estate. This bike has sentimental value, so I want to make sure I take good care of it.
I am working on getting my bike license, but due to regulations in my location (Western Australia), I won’t be able to legally ride it for at least 2 years when I can get my unrestricted bike license. My intention is for the bike to be kept in secure storage for this time, but keep it as well maintained as possible.
It has barely been ridden over the last 5 years due to his cancer, but it was being minimally maintained by one of his friends. My first step will be to get it serviced, but what are some things I need to do regularly to keep it in a healthy state?
Please note I am not familiar with bikes and have limited general mechanical knowledge (I can change my oil, etc.).
Any advice would be appreciated.

2024.05.15 07:30 OhDannyBoyyyyy New Beard (need help)

Hello all. I am a 36 year old male and I need some beard advice. I will note that I am bald and do shave my head regularly.
For the last 3 years I’ve been rocking a pretty nice goatee. My wife loved it and so did I, for a time at least, but I’d begun to grow bored of it and realized that my tastes in styles were changing as well, and that the goatee no longer suited my change in style. About a week ago I was trimming it when I decided to take the plunge and shaved it off, the first time I’ve clean shaven my entire face in a long time.
I finally noticed something that I’d dreaded for a while. My face is no longer as sharp or youthful looking, and my jawline is no longer as pronounced as it used to be. I should note that I eat mostly healthy and exercise regularly, and have had only minimal weight gain in the past few years, fluctuating between 170 and 180 (I am 5’7” tall). Looking at my bare face for the first time in years made me realize that perhaps it’s time to grow a full beard, or at least one that covers most of my face.
I have tried in the past but always gave up due to itch/burn and it not growing in quite as nicely as I would have hoped, but after seeing my face, I think I’m finally ready to take the plunge and commit, whether it’s a perfect beard or not.
So, for a newbie 36 year old man growing his first beard, what advice would you give? I am open to all suggestions. The most unbearable thing to me is the itch, I’ve tried oils and balms in the past but none of them seemed to have helped. Any suggestions on products that work? Thanks.

2024.05.15 07:28 ST0DY [s1 spoilers] What is happening right now?

(a throwaway so my sister and enforcers don’t see this) refer to me as Violet
So I (22F) went through some shit the last few years. Couple of years ago I thought I lost my little sister Pow (now 18F), after she threw some homemade grenade which killed my adopted family and my adoptive father, and in the height of my emotions and anger, I slapped the ever living shit out of her, and then this asshole Silco, who had rivalry with my dad, took her away and it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have slapped her! I don’t remember how I ended up in Stillwater prison, but I stayed there for like 5+ years. Not going to get into details as per what was I doing there, but it was vile and I don’t really feel comfortable sharing. But all of the sudden, this blue haired enforcer (23F), who I will admit, is fucking hot, asked me if I knew some information about the mob Silco runs, and I thought to myself maybe I could get my little sister Pow back, and I expected the enforcer to send someone to beat the shit out of me, but I was surprised she got me out of prison. I don’t know how, but I didn’t complain. She did save me couple of times over when that sellout bitch (40F) stabbed me with her automated arm powered by Shimmer, and when she treated my wound in the deepest pits.
A day later, we get kidnapped by an old friend of mine, when I tried to reunite with my sister, and he showed us the society he lives in outside of town, and the enforcer showed us that maybe she is not of the asshole enforcers, who are basically criminals in fancy uniforms.
My sister then causes mayhem in the bridge between Piltover and Zaun and I don’t know where my old friend is, and barely managed to escape with the enforcer, with her leg injured, and we got to her house with her mom who met us at the door of her bedroom with a rifle and waited for the enforcer to come back, to reflect and think on the situation in those past few hours, and I love her. My life changed a lot for those few hours, for better or worse, at least I’m not in prison anymore.
Anyway, we went to the council to talk over who attacked a building in Piltover and who created some homemade grenades, and I told them it was my sister Pow, but they called bullshit and made me angry and left and while the enforcer wanted me to come back, I told her oil and water aren’t meant to be. But I shouldn’t have left her. After finding one of the councillors who made some big ass gauntlets, and having a fight to find out about Shimmer shipments from Silco’s associates, I went to beat the ever living shit out of the sellout bitch who stabbed me earlier in The Last Drop, and then I don’t know how, I got kidnapped again and was found in the middle of a pretty creepy place, like a horror tea party, and she said she paid my “girlfriend” a visit and made her a snack, I thought she killed her, but made her a cupcake instead and brought her here, and I was scared. I didn’t want anybody else to die. And my sister made me choose between her and the enforcer, I love them both, I love my sister, but I couldn’t let her die, and the enforcer untied herself and tried to attack my sister, but instead she went on a berserk and killed Silco and then she went ahead and blew up the council with some powerful rocket.
I don’t know what to do since it’s my fault my sister will cause a war and kill a lot many others and the mother of the enforcer. Can you give me any advice? I’m so screwed up right now! I’ll be glad if you Redditors help me out with this situation!

2024.05.15 07:20 whiplash-willie Autel and 3.6 Pentastar Cam Data

TLDR: Trying to figure out which scan tool from Autel or others can show cam desired versus actual on 3.6 Pentastar.
Following up on some major seevice work at 171k miles on 2014 Wrangler 3.6 / auto and need some advice please:
Changed plugs, coils, injectors, oil cooler (dorman aluminum version) timing set (Melling) and cam phasers with new control valves (Standard Motor Products).
I don’t do this for a living but am definitely on the serious side of amateur / hobbiest. I’ve probably rebuilt to spec several dozen engines ranging from 1970’s Jaguars through FJ40’s lots of GM products in 4,6,8 cylinders, light truck and commercial diesels and powerstroke Diesels. I’ve never had a failure to start, run, or last. I have and followed factory service manual for the JK Jeep. I should have been able to do this!
Startup was rough but after a few attempts at cranking she bled the injectors and fired right up. Idles smoothly. Oil pressure 91-95 PSI cold and 25-30 hot at idle. Battery and alternator voltage good (don’t recall exact value). Within a 1/4 mile I was in limp mode with traction control and check wngine lights on. All of the codes are P000a-d. “Camshaft Slow Response”. Engine runs smooth through 5000+ rpm, but shifts are limited to 4th gear. So I drive to work 18 miles each way. Next day the lights go off and everything is golden. After 3-4 restarts, limp mode is back and wont go away!
Factory service manual says oil change, then replace pcm. Nope, not at those $$. I want to know what is wrong! So I do a bit of parts cannon…. New cam position sensors, although the fault seems to be on all 4 randomly. JSCAN only says “at least one fault has been counted in this position recently”. New crank position sensor. New cam VVT Solenoids. No Changes.
Then I start tracing grounds from the solenoids and get some intermittent high resistance. Ive had weird groundingg problems before, and I realized that my battery cable terminal negative side isnt clamping well. I can lift it off the post. The harness is generally crunchy and shitty from 10 years in desert heat, so I decided to re-do them.
Pulled the entire wiring harness off the engine and yanked the battery cables out. Replaced them with 2awg and bolt-down terminals. Continuity checked every ground terminal pin to pin. No fails. Same on the power side.
Fun side note, the 2014 Factory Wiring diagram has a major typo in showing incorrect ground terminal locations!
So, put that all back, pulled valve covers again, checked timing marks against youtube. It all seems right. I did not pull the timing cover again. I did clean the bits of metal powder off the camshaft tone rings with paper towel and brake clean. Restart engine. Starts instantly. Cam rattle for about 1 second, perfectly smooth idle. Same codes within 45 seconds.
So, i need a scan tool. Factory service manual says to check desired versus actual cam and crank positions. My old scan tool was PC based AutoEnginuity, but I hate the PC aspect and the subscription lapsed about 8 years ago. So im looking at Autel, but overwhelmed by all the options with very little info.
Can anyone tell me what level of Autel can show that live position versus desired position? Should I look elsewhere?
Mechanically, can you tell me if it is possible to overtorque an oil control valve? I keep wondering if the cam phasers could be dragging because they might be too tight? But if you grab the cam with a wrench, it moves easily and moves the phaser, so the lock pins are seated.
Cost isn’t a huge concern, especially if I can find a tool with longevity, but I cant use it for work, so it wont pay back / trying to avoid the Snap-off-in-you van. I can go a long way into trying to squeeze another 150k miles out of this rig before I lay down for a new Jeep at $75k plus!
Thank you for any and all advice and ideas. Brainstorming will help and I’m grateful for it.

2024.05.15 07:19 jetting_along Over 50 tires now with the 1in impact. 50 days 50 tires review.

Over 50 tires now with the 1in impact. 50 days 50 tires review.
So let me start with the pros then cons
  1. extremely convenient, if you run a small air tank off an inverter to do tires. That combined with this would eliminates all gas elements of tire change.
  2. No wait time. No need to charge up air or wait for it to be ready. It just goes, that's all it does. Is ready and goes. Nothing more or less. It's good as can be in terms of saving time.
  3. Saves space. No need for airlines is nice and that is a huge thing.
  4. Will tighten lugs good and tight. The lugs at about five seconds of impact will be at 500 to 600ft-lbs
  5. Does at least 8 wheels before needing to be charged. You can tell when it is getting low. I took 4 off then put 4 on. You definitely notice when it is getting low but it will not be a sharp decline. It won't tighten at all if it's not capable and will shutter and not run which is it warning you "I can't tighten I'm to low"
Now for cons
  1. It's really heavy. For being portable it sure does weigh a lot. By a lot I mean 5lbs more than air.
  2. You're definitely wearing that battery out, but way less than without the isolation part. The battery isolator really does work wonders. No more worry about wearing them out quick. But the unfortunate thing is that the tool is best to hold sideways. Which definitely will put a strain on your battery.
  3. Not needed for most applications. This is "overkill" for a lot of scenarios. But it wasn't much more than the d ring 3/4 or 1in drive impact. Was it worth it? Absolutely for mobile. But for in shop? Air impacts any day? No, this impact definitely eliminates the air impact in general for me. It's very inconvenient to lug a line around that is half inch. For me electric impacts like the m12 have eliminated the annoying need for air and airlines. But still an air impact for wheels is a need for shop use. I can't justify a shop using this. As the cycling of batteries is way more expensive than air.
  4. Will not take off very rusted lugs on steelies. If you're from the rust belt get some krill oil or candle wax. This thing struggles on any very rusted lugs. It will not easily take off very rusted lugs. It has a hard time removing steel rims nuts that have rusted to the rim. And in actuality if you're from the rust belt it'll work, but will run into those lugs it can't take off every once in a while. But still if you're mobile I'd buy.

2024.05.15 07:11 Ningaboop Help? I need some advice

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. After a year of agonizing, I finally decided to buy a new car. So last Friday I went to the dealer to look at one they were advertising. I wasn't able to see the particular car that was advertised because it was a demo (2024) and off the lot at that time (a manager has taken it out), however I test drove a similar model, and because I had test driven the same make a few times in the last year I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted. They said they could sell me the demo, which has about 2000 km on it, in exchange for 2 years extra maintenance and 1 year more on the warranty and I could pick it up on Wednesday the following week as they wanted to clean it and do an oil change. That seemed like a decent deal so I put down a non refundable deposit and set up the appointment to pick it up.
So, tomorrow I'm supposed to pick up the car, however today I got a message from the finance person asking me if I can reschedule because the windshield delivery is delayed until Friday or possibly Monday. This information doesn't make sense to me so I tell her that and ask her what is wrong with the windshield. She tells me that it's got a crack in it and needs to be replaced. I told her that I was not made aware of there being any damage to the windshield and this was the first I've heard about it. I then asked if there's anything else or any other damage I should be made aware of. She assured me that the car is perfectly ok and there was no other issue.
My question is - should I be concerned about their lack of disclosure? I have very little experience buying cars and I'm kinda freaking out. I'm, of course, very disappointed that I can't get it tomorrow but I'm mostly alarmed at their failing to mention this to me. I also think that if I decide to withdraw from the deal that they haven't held up their end of the deal and I should get my deposit back. Am I overreacting? Can someone give me their thoughts on this?
Thanks for any advice or help in advance!

2024.05.15 07:11 claritypure BMW f10 2012 screen/radio not working

hey guys i need some help with my 2012 BMW 528i. I've recently got this car as a gift and known that the car has been ran through. it was driven for a year without a oil change and etc. even the mechanic who worked on this car has said whoever has been driving the car did not take care of it at all and drove recklessly but has been mostly fixed after 5k engine wise. Since I'm the new responsible owner of the car, I was noted that the screen and radio/audio system does not work. what's really weird about this is that both screen and radio have worked fine only 2 times at random when i was driving it, and I'm trying to figure out what the issue is. Today i have torn down the glove compartment to access the fuses in the glove box to see if that was the issue but all the fuses were fine. I am very lost and not sure what to do since ive also reconnected the connections for the screen. WHY does it turn on randomly tbh im starting to dislike BMW :( took me like 3 hours to access the fuses ugh but yeah the BMW technicians of reddit please help!!!

2024.05.15 06:47 FurryUwU1256 Headgasket

So, I have a 1994 mercury sable GS, to give some background, since I bought the car for 500 a year ago, its always had a leak from the exhaust into the coolent system. Nothing too bad, since their was no oil inside the combustion chambers or white smoke coming out of the tail pipe. But a few days ago my car suddenly got really hot (I obviously stopped it before it go way too hot) I let it sit for a moment, I checked the hoses and they where hard from the pressure and coolent, so I drove it home and it worked fine. I checked the oil two days ago and you guess it. The forbidden chocky milk, the ford milkshake. So, my question is, what would you quote to do the headgasket plus the rest of the gaskets along the way (Injectors, intake, valve covers, manifold) for the 3.0 Vulcan. I watched a video about it, you dont have to mess with timing because its a rocker engine, its an older engine and such. In considering putting sealer into the engine, then if that doesn't work/next time it blows again I'll either A- take it to a shop, or B- do it myself. Ive done every single repair so far on my car, so I'm not unfamiliar with tools or my car (ive done water pump, vacuum lines, suspension, bushings, coolent flushes, bleeds, oil changes etc) so how much would you quote? Or would I be better doing it myself?

2024.05.15 06:33 Freewhale98 87 Labor Struggle: The popularization of labor movement in South Korea

87 Labor Struggle: The popularization of labor movement in South Korea
1.New opportunity for workers: The fall of military dictatorship and the rise of Sixth Republic
Until 1987, the labor movement in South Korea was in its infancy, as the brutal right-wing junta unleashed a campaign of terror on anyone who raised their voice about workers' rights. Labor unions were heavily under government control, and democratic unions were limited to female workers in the textile industry. However, the atmosphere changed with the June 1987 Uprising.
Popular discontent was growing among the emerging middle class and college students as the military government refused to hold presidential elections through popular vote. Instead, the junta legitimized their government through an electoral college, denying the majority of the population a say in politics. In this atmosphere of discontent, Park Jong-cheol, a college student activist, was arrested and tortured to death by police, triggering a popular uprising against the military dictatorship.

Fig 1. College students demanding justice for Park Jong-Cheol
Fig 2. Iconic photo of June Uprising
As popular protests demanding direct election of the presidency and a democratic constitution overwhelmed security forces, the military dictatorship was forced to compromise with the liberal opposition and adopt a new democratic constitution. This gave birth to a more democratic political system known as the 1987 system or Sixth Republic, under which South Korea still operates. This atmosphere of liberalization and democratization provided space for workers to organize.
2. Start of Uprising: Workers in Hyundai organize
The June democratization struggle came to an end with Representative Roh Tae-woo, the presidential candidate of the Junta, announcing the June 29 Declaration and promising a direct presidential election and constitutional reform. However, from July onwards, workers launched vigorous organized actions, demanding the establishment of democratic labor unions, wage increases, and improvements in working conditions.
The July 8-9, 1987 labor struggle began at the Hyundai Group. On July 5, Hyundai Engine workers formed a union, and on July 16, tensions escalated as documents declaring the formation of a labor union by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard workers were confiscated. In response to workers' uprising, the chairman of Hyundai Chung Ju-young declared, "Until dirt gets into my eyes, unions will not be permitted." However, the workers responded, "Then we will put dirt in your eyes," and proceeded to form unions. Even the mighty Hyundai, one of Korea's largest conglomerates, could not resist the relentless tide of history.
In late July, the democratic labor movement expanded to the whole of Yeongnam region, as major factories in the Masan-Changwon area joined the uprising. On August 17th and 18th, over 30,000 workers from the Ulsan Hyundai Group Labor Union (currently Hyundai Motor Union) staged a sit-in protest. Workers from six Hyundai Group affiliates staged a united demonstration while wielding heavy equipment. Faced with protesters wielding heavy equipment, the police abandoned firing tear gas altogether. As the protest ended that day without major bloodshed as police fled in terror, the impact was immeasurable.

Fig 3. Workers gathering during 87 Labor Struggle
3. Workers in Daewoo rise up: death of Lee Seok Kyu
The Daewoo Shipbuilding labor union, established on August 11th, began negotiations with the company. On the 22nd, during the negotiation process, the union representatives, frustrated by the company's insincerity and stalling tactics, revised their initial demands. They proposed a basic salary increase of 20,000 won, an increase in site allowances by 20,000 won, and the introduction of a 10,000 won family allowance. However, the company rejected this proposal. In anger, the workers attempted to enter the hotel, but were beaten and chased to the beach by the Baekgoldan, a special police unit. During their second attempt to enter the hotel, the police suggested that they would allow a peaceful march, but then suddenly fired tear gas at them. In the chaos, Lee Seok-gyu was hit directly in the right chest by a tear gas canister. He was transported to the hospital but passed away at around 3:30 PM.
In the aftermath of his death, enraged colleagues sealed off the funeral parlor where his body lay, demanding, "We don't need money. Bring back Lee Seok-gyu!" Prominent figures such as Lee So-sun, mother of Jeon Tae-il, and lawyers Roh Moo-hyun and Lee Sang-soo arrived, forming a funeral preparation committee. Negotiations between the union and the company resulted in a compromise on various issues, including a wage increase, but workers demanded accountability for Lee's death and refused to compromise. Despite the union's decision to postpone the funeral until their demands were met, pressure from the government and the company intensified, leading to confrontations between the workers and authorities. On August 28th, amidst rain, the funeral procession finally proceeded to the Daewoo Shipbuilding Stadium, where over 20,000 people attended the funeral. However, upon reaching their destination, the procession was met with police brutality, resulting in arrests and the confiscation of Lee’s body by the authorities. Subsequently, a planned memorial event was forcibly cancelled, and the government cracked down on participants.

4. Government crackdown and the spread of uprising
Following this raid on Lee Seok-gyu's funeral, the government began a massive crackdown. On September 4th, riot police were deployed to disperse workers protesting at Daewoo Motor and Hyundai Heavy Industries, resulting in large-scale arrests. From September onwards, labor protests in the manufacturing sector gradually subsided. The military junta launched a public relations campaign, accusing workers of being influenced by external forces and attempting to isolate them from wider democratization movement. Employers responded with measures such as temporary closures of workplaces. Despite these efforts, labor activism spread to small and non-manufacturing businesses in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gyeongin region, with strikes continuing in various sectors such as transportation, mining, office work, sales, and services. During the July-August-September labor struggles, workers primarily demanded an 8-hour workday, labor law reform, protection of labor rights, guaranteed freedom to form unions, abolition of blacklists, ensuring the right to survival, improving working conditions, and raising low wages. These demands highlight that the labor struggle was fundamentally an economic democratization movement.
5. Aftermath: Underrated uprising
As a result of the labor struggle, by the end of December 1987, the number of labor unions had increased to 4,103 (from 2,675 in 1986), with 1,267,457 union members (up from 1,035,890 in 1986). Of the 3,749 labor disputes in 1987, 3,341 occurred during July-August-September. Above all, during this period, workers began to perceive labor unions as beneficial organizations for workers and started to understand the ideology and function of labor unions. They also began to explore effective ways to overcome conflicts and confrontations between labor and management. The 1987 labor struggle is considered the first large-scale expression of worker discontent, achieving outcomes such as the formation of democratic labor unions, democratization of non-regular workers' unions, and significant wage increases. This was, of course, one of the political effects of the June Uprising. Workers, who had been suppressed and oppressed by the strong repression of the junta government, began to actively assert their demands in a political environment where some degree of freedom was allowed. Subsequently, this movement for the establishment of labor unions led to the creation of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union in 1989, and the National Council of Trade Unions in 1990, setting up the scene for the series of major labor struggles and achievement in 1990s.
Despite these achievements and contribution to the democratization of South Korea, 87 Labor Struggle tends to be underrated and considered merely an epilogue to 1987 democratization. This is because of class divide shown in regard to how it was perceived by the wider democratization movement. The liberal opposition led by Kim Young-sam, urged workers to exercise restraint rather than politically exploiting the situation. This left the resolution of the conflicts to the junta government. Additionally, the middle class distanced themselves from the tlabor struggles. They were concerned that heir achievements from the June Uprising might be undermined. They feared too much chaos could result in counter-coup by the right-wing junta as it had been in 1960-1961 Second Republic and 1980 Seoul spring. Moreover, the June 29 Declaration came during a period of economic boom characterized by low oil prices, low interest rates, and a low dollar value, which lessen the need for the rising middle class to pursue labor movement. As a result, the memory of 87 Labor Struggle was relegated to an auxiliary uprising of larger 1987 democratization, foreshadowing the marginalization of labor still prevalent in modern South Korea.

2024.05.15 06:25 DDunn110 Older V strom problems or concerns?

Hey everyone!
I’m looking at getting an older v strom 2003 or 2007. Both bikes are roughly the same cost, same accessories and similar mileage. Although the 2003 has less miles, they are both first owner bikes and well cared for. That aside, couple of questions. Are the bikes worth it for 2300$? I’m just looking for an older bike to commute with and run around town, maybe do some 1-2 hour rides on highways but not much. Also, are there any known major problems with the bikes? I have read some stuff about stator problems and something with the front headlight? The bikes in question are 2003 / 2007 650 adventure version. I just want a bike that I can turn on and go, do light maintenance like oil changes, filter, coolant, break from time to time and just go. Any input would be greatly appreciated

19 year old/low T symptoms/help
Hi, I'm a 19-year-old male 160lb at 5’10, and for a while now, I've been experiencing what I think are low-T symptoms, and I don't know what to do. Some of my symptoms include low energy randomly throughout the day to the point where I will feel completely fine and then not even have the energy to do anything, just dead and could take a fat nap, brain fog/forgetting things a lot, low motivation, can be really irritable as well, can have anxiety about some of the dumbest things too (I've heard anxiety can also be a sign of low T) I also believe I have signs of low libido, I could care less about sex and having a relationship, and no morning wood ever (it's been a long time), sometimes get wet dreams but pretty rare. Low performance in the gym and running, no physical body changes in strength or size, despite tracking workouts and food.
I find it very odd to be having these issues. I eat a very good, clean diet and eat a good amount since I'm active. I also make sure to sleep 8-9 hours every night. I lift four times a week and run three times a week.
So because of all these things, on January 8th of 2024, I got my T checked after getting a regular physical, and my total T returned at 270 ng/dl. I decided to take ashwagandha on top of my normal supplements and healthy lifestyle. My supplements include fish oil, d3, and a multi. Since I have seen/heard that ashwagandha can improve t levels, I wanted to see if that would do anything to my levels in a couple of months after deciding that I'd like to take another test, but this time a bigger panel.
Fast forward to May 6th, I got tested at around 9 am, and these are all my results from these tests. I was told everything was normal, but I wasn't told why I would be having these symptoms. I also talked to a good friend of mine who struggled with low T and has had an amazing experience with TRT. he thought there were a few things wrong with my results and told me that I should look into TRT, but I just don't know what I should do.
The only things I believe I missed to get tested were my SHBG and free T because, for some reason, we couldn't get them done, and I would need to see an endo in order to get the results.
Here are my results from the 2nd visit on May 6th.

2024.05.15 06:06 bearish_bool Steer clear of Audi

Saw a post from yesterday and seeing how many people defending audi boiled my blood. So here is my side of the story Not only they make shitty cars, but also services are really sketchy and nickel and dime you.
I have a 2016 Q5 Premium Plus
Bought this car when it had 25k miles on it. Now 65k miles on it and it’s crumbling.
All maintenance was performed timely 25k-35-45-55-65k etc. Up until 50k car was perfect because it was under warranty dealer never pointed out any problems to me at all.
Then warranty expired on next maintenance I got a hefty list of problems needed to be fixed.
Let me list problems so you think twice before buying from this horrible company
I barely drove this car maybe 5k miles a year and I took the car to audi maintenance as suggested, so dont come at me like “maintenance” bullshit.
Last 10k miles has been hell, now car is shaking over 60 mph and independent mechanic said it’s not an alignment issue, maybe a gear or a belt issue .
Yes car is 8 years old, rubber gets old, wear and tear happens. But if you dont want to drown under constant bills and horrible service steer clear this brand. Once your car gets to 60k miles and 6-8 year mark it’s pretty much trash

2024.05.15 06:04 SnooCats6999 Tick tick tick

Tick tick tick
Hey everyone! I picked up my Last Call Charger about a month ago, I previously had a 22’ T that I put about 32,000 miles on, so I’m somewhat familiar with these cars.
My new baby is currently sitting at 1,600 miles...however, I’m noticing there is a louder ticking sound developing that, to me, sounds a little more unusual than the HEMI tick I had on my 5.7, which I had checked multiple times and everything came back fine. I had just accepted it as a characteristic of the V8’s in these beautiful cars.
I just wanted to throw it out there and check - does this tick sound too loud for a 6.4? I’ve babied the car all through the break in period, had an oil and filter change done already. Only put Shell or Chevron Premium.
Thanks for any input! Much appreciate it! 🐝

2024.05.15 05:58 Strict_Tension662 Car engine shutting off by itself?

Sorry in advance for the long post, I just wanted to make sure to give whatever context/details might be needed.
So I own a 2012 Volkswagen Golf. Got it back in late October, used, at just under 91k miles. (It's at about 95k miles now, so I don't drive a lot.) It was well taken care of, and the car shop I got it from was great! Nothing shady or anything.
I had a PPI. One of the things the mechanic mentioned was that while the car was idling, the engine shut off after about 30 minutes. But he restarted the car and it was fine, and I guess he just didn't think anything of it? Everything that he inspected tested out well, and he didn't put anything about that on the report.
(I will say it wasn't the most reliable report. He claimed there were bubbles in the tires; I didn't see any, but I took it to an auto shop, and they confirmed there were definitely no bubbles. They had reported the dome light not working when it was working fine, also. So a little strange, but it wasn't a huge issue overall.)
Fast forward to the first week of January. At a red light, the engine shut off by itself. I'd been driving around for 10 minutes or so at low speeds (downtown area trying to find parking). The battery light came on. I assume (based on what little I understand by researching online) it's because the engine was off when it wasn't supposed to be, so it couldn't charge the battery. I turned the car off, and then I turned it back on. No more battery light. This happened after about 40 minutes of the engine running.
Totally normal after that. There aren't any strange sounds coming from anywhere in the car while driving. Everything works great (except for one of the windows having an issue rolling up sometimes, but I don't care much about that). I've driven in heavy traffic for an hour with no issues, more than once.
The tires were old (from 2015 I believe?), so the auto shop that had inspected the tires after my purchase did mention to bring the car back after winter and maybe check on the tires then.
So last week, I took it in. Got the oil changed and new tires, and they said they do a quick visual inspection while changing the oil. They mentioned that they tested the battery too, and it was good. I had told them I had a road trip coming up, so I definitely wanted to know if anything else needed to be done. I mentioned what happened back in January, and they said it was definitely unusual, but I should just keep an eye on it.
And today, the engine shut-off thing happened again. This time on the highway, BUT in heavy traffic, so the car was moving slowly again. In this case, I'd been on the road for a little over 10 minutes. I admittedly only noticed because the car wasn't accelerating, then I realized the battery light was on and the engine must have shut off again. Pulled onto the shoulder and again, I turned the engine off and turned it back on, and everything was normal after that. The battery light turned back off.
I plan to call the auto shop in the morning, but I took it for a drive to run an errand, mostly to test things out again. It was about 30 minutes of driving round-trip, and I had no issues whatsoever. I kept it off the highway so the speeds were relatively lower. Everything's working smoothly.
Any ideas on what's happening? I've tried to do a bit of research, but I'm not sure why I can go for 4 months without issues. I feel like the fact it happens so infrequently makes it harder to figure out. But I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas here?
Thanks in advance!
TL;DR: Had a couple incidents where my car's engine shut off, causing the battery light to turn on, and after turning the car off and back on, the battery light was off and the car ran smoothly. Incidents were months apart. Always at low speeds or when not moving.

MEGA SIZED Rodem review (with many pics!)
Rodem Slime Shop
7.5oz for $12.99-19.50 Labels are now waterproof! Yaaay! 💪🏻
I was so excited to get into this giant package from one of my favourite stores, and one I really love to support as they deserve it! This was actually a couple of orders I placed over time and Rodem contacted me to ask me if I wanted to combine them which demonstrates their incredibly attentive customer service. Usually the customer needs to contact the store for this to happen.
Included inside was powdered borax, a free gift slime for each order plus one more because it was a large order and they are generous. This exchange with Rodem got us chatting and then something very special transpired but I will post separately about that as I have to cram a lot of slime into this review and have limited space for images!
I had to brew a cup of tea, sit down and take my time going through all of these to make sure I combined all the correct things! It helps a lot that they are all pictured on the enclosed invoice but it would be helpful if they were packaged together. That having been said, separating the heavy pots of slime from the clays is a good idea when the order is this big and heavy so I can't complain!

  • LEMON TART (DIY butter snowfizz, lemon cookie scented)
This smelled OH SO good. The lemon and the cookie notes comes through and were just delicious and very realistic smelling! Sometimes lemon scent is reminiscent of citrus scented cleaning products to my nose but not this, this was an excellent effort. but My clay lemon was a little squished but clay often can be due to being delicate and tricky to package and the issue is not uncommon with any company.
The clay was soooo very soft, moist and pleasant to squish into the base. After you take the base out the pot you are met with a little bit of “caramel” sauce on the bottom of the pie. It’s all very mouth watering. This was the perfect, massively inflatable snow fizz and I was so in love with it. It was super crunchy and had the expected abundance of ASMR fizzles. It was beautifully activated and in every way a perfect slime. Some may find snow fizz a bit pokey but this wasn’t bad at all, the inflation was very cushioning!

  • TEA TIME (DIY clay, strawberry, blackcurrant, blackberry blended fruity scent)
The scent is fresh, fruity and yummy and the charms SO charming and well thought out! This clay was slightly stiffer and a tad dried out but the base extremely moist, silky and jiggly with tons of resistance on the pulls and I didn't end up with any lumps. It becomes extremely light, puffy, chubby and flubbery with massive pops and medium to soft clicks on the pokes which get louder as it inflates. I love Rodem’s take on this texture, it has all the awesome elements of the fluffy slimes I got from Seoul Gage but was more robust with no destabilisation issues (I found the SG ones a little dehydrated and sticky the next time I played.)

  • BUMPER CAR (silica sand x salt, rose scented, also a choice of peach scent if you prefer)
I love rose scent and this was PERFECT! It isn’t a perfume type scent, just pure, sweet rose water like rose Turkish delight or, indeed, actual rosewater. I was utterly obsessed! This was a stunning slime with a beautiful iridescent pink topper and the most gorgeous little pink bumper car charm. It sounded absolutely incredible to crunch and combine. The little pops, sizzles and crackles were out of this world. This was so heavy in silica crystals and yet not pokey as the pieces were quite smooth and small but of course your mileage may vary. I can’t express just how much I adored this slime, one of my all time favourites!

  • YUMMY POPCORN (styrofoam slay, caramel popcorn scented)
The fact this comes with a little paper popcorn bag containing the Styrofoam "popcorn" is the cutest touch ever! I adore Rodem, they think of everything to make the experience so incredibly fun. This smells just like freshly popped caramel popcorn with a tiny hint of sweet corn, I loved it! The two hyperrealistic popcorn charms that comes with it are hilarious!
The base was soft, jiggly, super clicky and fluffy and the Styrofoam really satisfying to crush into it. I just couldn’t get over how spectacular the scent was, it was making me hungry! This slime was a slightly looser slay texture and needed a little bit of activator to aid in handleability but not much. It had a few nice medium pops in it but very little hold, which unfortunately isn’t to my taste but many people love that. I was tied over this slime as the scent was just divine but I prefer more holdable textures. That is a reflection on my personal tastes however, not the slime which was great! If you like jiggly slays you’ll fall in love with this. I may not be a slay person but there is no way this wasn't going be a keeper, it had just too good a scent and crushing the styrofoam is great fun!
https://preview.redd.it/x9yw1riaci0d1.jpg?width=9009&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f3ceaaf5020ef0116257b956ce3da686e84b61c

  • CAROUSEL (DIY clay, citrus fruit and aloe blend scented)
The scent wasn't bad but just wasn't a hit for me, a personal taste thing again. The clay was a little bit smooshed and it was tricky to tell what it was but extremely, soft squishy and moist. (Incidentally it was, you guessed it, a carousel 🎠)
The base was quite loose and jiggly and called for a little bit of activator but very soft, chubby, quite matte and pleasant in the hands. This combined into a huge, soft, marshmallowy mound of slime with a lovely plush surface. Super stretchy and fun to fold for soft bubble pops and lovely soft sizzles. It was a little on the loose side for my personal tastes but slay lover will again adore this! It was a well made slime.

  • EMMENTAL CHEESE CAKE (DIY clay/butter, savoury cheese cookie scented)
This was a very interesting, fun and unusual scent. A little sweet but notably savoury with a subtle hint of cheese. The first time I played with it I enjoyed the novelty but the second time I wasn’t sure if I loved it enough to buy again. It’s hard to describe but definitely worth trying.
The HUUUUUGE cheese clay came in a sealed package and was so soft and pleasant to squish. It became a ginormous, matte, sort of butter texture, which was both fairly holdable and yet exceedingly soft. It stuck to my play area a bit. It was quite a job to handle it on account of its size and a difficult texture to describe. It didn’t feel sticky at all on my play surface but stuck to my hands when I tried to pick it up and stretch it. When I pressed my hand into it on the surface it didn’t stick or feel sticky but if I picked it up to try and stretch it, it was very gooey and hard to shape. Activator didn’t seem to make that much of a difference. This was a texture unlike any other I’ve experienced. It’s one I’m a little lukewarm on but still enjoyed playing with for an unusual experience and worth it for the mega-sized clay cheese alone!

  • MIXED COFFEE (super gloss thick T&G, mixed coffee and coffee ice cream blend scented)
This was a delicious, very creamy coffee ice cream/frappe coffee creme scent, very rich with subtle notes of chocolate. It was a medium thickness, super clicky, moist glossy texture with decent resistance on the stretch. Very good and elastic with tons of bubble pops and wet crackles. This was an extremely pleasant and easy to play with moist and jiggly glossy slime. The longer you play the looser it gets but not problematically so.
https://preview.redd.it/hhob7e8ndi0d1.jpg?width=4823&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eac50e47e3ae4040528d30a10444dede22dea5aa

  • FUJI APPLE ICE CREAM (DIY cloud creme, apple scented)
A lovely, fresh, crisp apple scent. The clay apple is so cute with its velvety exterior and so perfectly made. It was amazing fun to squish. This combined to a super stretchy and ultra fuzzy cloud creme. It was extremely light and super sizzly. This was another texture which is familiar and yet very unusual on account of the extreme fuzziness. I loved it and found it pretty amazing to look at!
https://preview.redd.it/o5fah6ugei0d1.jpg?width=4905&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3941974b12b9e28570cad567ace8fb1fa46f2d9

  • FLAT PEACH CAKE (DIY clay and coated jelly/fluffy snow, peach scented)
The base has an absolutely beautiful fresh peach scent. Another stunningly well made clay which looks so much like a peach with the way they have created the fuzzy surface and peachy-perfect colour shift. It was soft and great fun to combine into the jelly base. The resulting slime was nice and clicky with big, soft bubble pops. It really felt plush and soft-surfaced on my fingers as I stretched it and was very moist, chubby, jiggly and flubby when I set it down. This was ultra inflatable with nice soft sizzles.
https://preview.redd.it/u2372z0wei0d1.jpg?width=5691&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f60afeb65d0269a8d83619526e9b97a4c264cb49

  • YAKULT GELATO (DIY snow creme, Yakult scented
A pleasant, mild, fruity yogurty scent. The little scoops of ice cream were so soft, moist and great to squish. This started off with lots of resistance and a nice plush feel as I pulled it. It had moist clicks and soft bubble pops. While it gave a little bit as it warmed up, it did retain a bouncy and elastic stretch with a nice little bit of resistance. This is another fun, boingy, flubby, jiggly texture, which is super inflatable and great fun to play with.
https://preview.redd.it/uaecn0p0fi0d1.jpg?width=8457&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0009976a0dc188ea74922188d351bcc7aeef8dd1

  • MY COSY SPACE (cloud slime, sweet juicy peach/added perfume)
It’s so ironic that cloud slime is my favorite and yet I have so very few of them retained in my collection as I just can’t find ones I love that drizzle perfectly! I was very, very excited for a cloud from Rodem but also anxious as clouds are so rarely perfectly in line with the exact level of drizzle I’m looking for! I absolutely ADORE the aesthetic with the soft little rug that comes with it in the shape of Rodem’s bunny logo and the couch charm, how stinking CUTE! The slime even matches! I think this is the best charm/slime combo I have ever seen, a big standing ovation for Rodem on this incredibly whimsical and charmingly presented slime!
The scent was a relaxing and homely peachy perfume with notes of bubble bath and baby powder. The drizzle was good!! True cloud is a hard slime to make to spec and, in light of that, a lot of companies don’t really bother with it. I’m so happy Rodem did and did such a great job. It was very soft and plush with gorgeous blankety folds and I have everything crossed they make more of this texture soon. I have no idea what I’ll do with the delightful little rug other than treasure it forever! Haha!
Even just looking at these photos as I type out the review I'm smiling again! I wish this slime was my dressing gown! haha!

  • ONIGIRI (white glue foam chip, savoury black sesame.)
Another incredibly interesting and unique savoury scent. This was definitely giving sesame seed/oil, albeit a bit more subtle than the real thing. I would say your mileage may very on this scent, it won’t be for everyone but it is certainly worth trying for a whole new experience.
This was a medium thickness, glossy texture which was very chewy and clicky. The foam pieces were quite hard and angular but crushable if you really go for it. This was a very novel floam texture which made a great change from the usual balls. This was exploding with fantastic crackles and pops, top tier sounds. I think the angular foam is even better for trapping air as this slime sounded like a tiny elephant stampeding in a bubble wrap factory! I got some big air pocket type bubbles from this one too!
https://preview.redd.it/t6eh86yigi0d1.jpg?width=5986&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5954f9b63ef8b82f6b18c833abed2b45aa816ce0

  • FRENCH APPLE PIE (white glue/snow/fluffy, French apple pie scented)
The apple and the crust both come through in the scent, as well as a little hint of caramel (which is very typical of a French tarte tatin, well done Rodem!) The little doilies in the bottoms of the clay pots (even though the clay is wrapped) are yet another gorgeous little touch that impress me about these guys, I love their intimate attention to detail.
The clay was again super soft and pleasant to squish into the nice, clicky base. This was a lovely, chubby, stretchy slime. It was a little on the thicker side and created satisfying farty bubble pops.
C'est bon!

  • SAKURA SAND (sand slime, sakura flower scented)
This is an absolutely beautiful scent. A slightly cotton candy leaning sweet Sakura. I love pink, I love sand slimes and I love Sakura scents so this really pleased me! Unfortunately I found it very sticky and loose so added a lot of activator until it was more resistant and was able to get it where it needed to be. Once I did it had great bubble pops and was a very sand-dense and crunchy/sizzly sounding slime, the exact sort of sand slime I like.

  • STRAWBERRY MATCHA SUGAR CAKE (snow fizz, strawberry matcha scented)
A nice scent with both strawberry and Matcha coming through. This was an extremely fluffy, airy snowfizz with tons of fantastic ASMR sounds, so fizzy, sizzly and fun to inflate and tingle-inducing to deflate. It started off feeling like a light, sugary super airy scrub and got denser as I played. Another great slime.

  • TANGHULU BALL (big foam ball, strawberry-ade)
This had a very subtle strawberryade scent. The giant floam balls were a total novelty to me and SO much fun! Who doesn’t love the feeling of big balls in their hands!? 🙊 The base was quite loose and wonderful for plentiful crackles and pops. I really enjoyed this!

  • STEAMED BUN (chewy mochi texture, sweet red bean BingSu)
This was an extremely savoury scent, there is some sweetness there but it was very much umami focused and I really enjoyed it! I was getting notes of red bean with a saltiness.
This is a moist, super clicky, jiggly slime with two large sponges in it that crush like jelly cubes. This is extremely bubbly and full of juicy wet crackles and high pitched big pops. You can create absolutely gargantuan air bubbles with this texture. If you, like me, don’t typically enjoy loose jiggly slimes, there is a damn good chance that you will enjoy this as I loved it! It was just so multifaceted with what it offered. First, you have the unusual scent which is pretty intriguing and different. Then you have the two giant cubes to crush which is always nice. Then you have the joy of the crackles, pops and loud clicks. Finally, you have the enormous bubbles! You just can’t not have fun with this!
That bubble (slubble?) was bigger than me!!

  • PLOP DUCKLING (Snow creme, lemon meringue scented)
This has a gorgeous and accurate sweet and creamy lemon meringue scent. It’s so much fun watching the little duck’s butt slowly dive into the slime when you pop him on there.
This was exactly the texture and scent I fancied finishing on and quite by chance it was! I couldn’t find Rodem’s description for this one’s texture until later so I had no idea what to expect as I had forgotten, what a joy!!! This combined into a really lovely, soft sage green. This is another light, soft, squishy, chewy and chubby inflating texture that ends up airy and puffy. I absolutely loved it! Unfortunately that is one more image than I am able to embed on Reddit so please click here to see it!
With Rodem, nothing is fully predictable and every texture brings with it a nice surprise. This is especially pleasing to experience when you place big orders. There is nothing more disappointing to me than buying a lot of slimes from a company just to discovered there is hardly any nuance between them and the experience is basically a rinse and repeat one, texturally identical and/or predictable. Rodem break the mold and throw in some very unusual elements and scents. Their themes are so well thought out and utterly charming and beautifully presented. They produce so many textures and master them, each one designed with so much love and attentiveness.
I really adore this company and feel they work hard to bring joy and excellence to the slime community. Recently one of the more commercial slime companies was caught using Rodem’s brand as a key word on their google ads to steer business away from them and onto their own website which I thought was in very poor taste. It is however testament to the fact that they knew Rodem was a company slime enthusiasts were talking about. And so we should be! It is my pleasure and honour to continue supporting this wonderful company. I'm so excited to see what they come up with next!
I loved pretty much every slime and the ones I didn’t were more so a personal taste thing than a quality control issue. There were a couple I found less handleable or with activation issues (Emmental and Sakura Sand) but that is pretty damn good going for an order this huge and the sand one was easily fixable. A well deserved 9.9/10
