I'm in the process of applying for substitute teaching positions in CA. I'm working on getting my bachelor's in elementary education and have passed my cbest exam. When I look at job postings, most require a 30 day emergency sub permit. Does anyone know how long this process will take? If I apply for the permit now, will I be able to work this summer?

Hello all!
I graduated from Kent State University in OH in the December 2020 with my BM in Music Education. After graduating I worked at Starbucks while subbing around until I found a full time customer service representative job at a vet clinic. I worked at the vet job for 2 years and left to pursue a career in Ed by substitute teaching. Thinking this would be a big resume booster I definitely took a pay cut, lost my benefits, and have had to dip into some savings. I'm feeling so hopeless. I'm looking for a Band Director job but have been applying to all music ed jobs. I've applied to about 40 jobs in OH and have had ONE interview for a part time gig for marching band. The interview seemed to go okay but it was very short and I don't feel great about it. Any and all help or insight would be appreciated.
I'm trying not to kick myself for not subbing more right after graduating. Do I wait until I get a full time teaching position or look into other fields? I mainly have CSR experience and I don't want to go back to that type of job full time right now. I know I lack experience but my out of "school" experience should count for something, right?

Food safety and regulations..

What’s the most important piece of information in a football game for the graphic to show? The score, right? Several times this year the scoreboard has failed to update when myself or the opponent scored a goal. One time I genuinely couldn’t remember if I scored or not and the scoreboard showed 1-0 to the opposition for about 30 in-game minutes, then all of a sudden it was going to extra time after a 1-1 draw.
Another one is if you make a substitute sometimes the graphic for the sub stays up until the end of the game blocking the scoreboard and teams. A big graphic too that almost blocks parts of the pitch on the far side.
Then there are plenty of small other menu glitches like the images in the card on FUT going haywire and upside down.
Lingering menu glitch of some sort have been a problem in FIFA for years but they’ve never fixed them. Then there are all the complaints about disconnections and they refuse to punish people who quit after a red card on a draw.
At a time where EA is making record-breaking money, it’s so shoddy to have these errors in the game.
It reminds me of Old Trafford and the Glazers how they’re spending £100m on overpaid transfers but can’t fix a leaking roof. With all the money they have, these are amateur mistakes you’d think they’d be embarrassed by.

In the first game, I loved the uncertainty of which Fury or Hydra Head you'd get on a particular run. They weren't so distinct that the change could kill a build, but they gave some personality to the characters and allowed for the devs to flex.
With that said, my wife had the great idea that Medea and Circe should occasionally substitute for Hecate at the Crossroads. As they're both Overworld characters, there's no risk of running into them in an Underworld run and can thus be in Erebus without issue. They are alive, yes, but the gates of the underworld are open - and Erebus is also a sort of liminal space anyway, so it's not too big a deal.
Medea has already shown up at the Crossroads, after all!

Basic recipe - in a big cappucino style/wide mug, beat together
1 egg, 1tbsp butteoil, 3tbsp almond flour, 1/2tsp baking powder (or 1/3 of that amount soda bicarb)
Consistency should be thick pancake batter, microwave for 2-3 mins depending on microwave wattage, should just drop right out of the cup if it's cooked, slice when cold, toast it, fry it, whatever.
Nice, gets boring after a while ... things I have tried, from the obvious, to the WTF - some of these need the addition of water, just a few drops to 1/2 tsp at a time to get the mix consistency back to about where it should be: -
Add seeds
Instead of butter or oil, substitute peanut butter (crunchy, always) or cream cheese or the fat that came off a roast meat joint (basically lard tbh) or pesto (WEIRD colour bread, tastes nice though and delicious toasted with cheese on top)
Add marmite (I'm British, judge all you like). This one is nice just on its own as a snack :D
Add ginger - not so sure about this one, I might have not added enough to get a good flavour so will give it another shot sometime.
My next trials will be with different 'flours' - I have a ground seeds and nuts one I'm about to test. I am also going to try paprika, as I reckon that bread with cream cheese topping could be delicious. Also, black pepper, as that could be amazing as the toast to go with scrambled egg.
Sadly intolerant to chilli and most curry-type spices (curry powder, garam masala, etc).
Any other suggestions, and opinion on the result if you've tried them?

My father passed 6 months ago on the 8th (which is also my parents’ wedding anniversary). My father had a very long, and traumatic (for everyone) hospital stay for 5 months before we ultimately had to make some decisions about his quality of life. That being said, I (29) am a substitute teacher and part time waitress and I’m still struggling to take work as often as I did in the past. Is this normal?
In this line of work I have to accept jobs and sometimes I just struggle. I’m better than I was three months ago, but I just feel like I’m failing to do what I should be. I’m making enough money thanks to the weekend waitressing and I pull my weight with bills with my partner, but I just feel like everyone around me must think I’m a loser for not working. At this point enough time has passed people probably assume I’m over it but I’m not. I think part of my problem is I’m not scheduled to work I have to decide to take it and I crave the normalcy of taking jobs I’m familiar with rather than unknown teachers and buildings. I don’t struggle to go to my scheduled waitress shifts at least.
Sorry for the rant, I’m just trying to feel like I’m not alone.

What disappointed you about the CFP curriculum? I am kind of at the start of it, actually doing the AAMS to substitute for the first course of the CFFP program. I’m a bit underwhelmed at the depth so far, I was expecting a bit more nitty gritty. Was anyone overall disappointed in the CFP curriculum as a whole, what else did you turn to in order to be an expert in the field (experience is a given), should I expect some of the other courses to be more in depth?

I feel so alone in my struggles. And it feels like i am fighting a battle everyday , a battle no one can see. I am literally at war.
I am 35 year old female. I am diagnosed with acute chronic stress , c-ptsd , depression, sinusitis (like a worst flu one can have , for the past 12 years) , migraine, allergies, lactose , pollen, dust , gluten intolerance, plantar fasciitis, IBS, gastrointestinal problems, my immune system is very sensitive, inflammation in my body , my muscles and tendons get stiff and i can barely function without nsaids, i am taking corticosteroids every now and then due to my ailments (obviously prescribed by my doc) .
I have been a victim lf physical child abuse. Mental physical abuse by my parents. I was terrified of my father even though he hit me just once(And bad) . My mother hit me a lot and always kept telling me i was the reason for her life being miserable. I just had a miserable childhood. My father substituted his love for money. Which made me end up making horrible decisions. I had an abusive boyfriend who drugged me and had me abort a baby. I woke up bleeding on the side of street without a life in my belly. And a million other abuses… worst was when i lost my Grandfather because he meant the world to me and the only person who loved me unconditionally. It’s been 14 years and i still want to die and just go to him. I am an atheist and i don’t even believe i will ever see him.
I married a great guy(surprisingly) . But i am too messed up to be understood by him. He comes from a ‘perfect family’ loving parents and all that luxury. He tries his best to help and understand me but i feel i am just dragging him down. I would hate to be the reason to bring him down. I feel like dead weight.
I am barely functioning. I was a lawyer for 9 years but quit burned out two years ago and now i just can’t, i just can’t. I've been looking into interesting stuff that can be done with the research from anomaly after messing around with it a bit myself. The chronophagy ritual is obviously a substitute for age reversal but unlike biosculpting, I have seen screenshots of the ritual putting a colonist age below 13. What would happen here? would the colonist become a child again, capable of learning and experiencing growth moments again? would it be possible, with effort, to engineer our own perfectly skilled and powerful colonists? I'm interested in testing this myself but I wanted to see if anyone knew already before I wasted my time. If it works, it would be so cool to build a colony of creepy eternally young and unbelievably talented colonists.

Hello, I am very green in american football and Madden 24 is first football game I played.
But, when I choose nickel/dime etc. one of my LB:s get substituted with CB. How do I see in depth chart who gets pulled off and change him if I want him to stay in field?
Then, if I want my LB to be replaced from one of the SS/FS players instead CB, what is this position called in depth chart?
If anyone can explain this as to a 5 year old, much appreciated.

In SP/Mooca - a wonderful neighborhood specialty store (Casa Sagres) closed its doors after 30 years - it was the only place I'd been able to find real cheddar cheese (not that "sabor" fake stuff).
What's a good easily found equivalent for what we Americans think of cheddar that I can substitute? Not sliced but in pedaço (for shredded cheese dishes), same consistency as cheddar (harder, not soft; not creamy). Like, what would you use for tacos, quesadillas; any of the eight million American dishes you'd be grating cheddar cheese for?

I love strawberries, grapes and blueberries and often buy them. I would like some more recommendations on other fruits/vegetables to buy. How do you incorporate them into meals? I usually just will eat a mixed bowl of the ones I have
I love pop or soda and drink that quite a lot and would really like to know what are the best types of drinks to substitute the sugary ones for?
Healthiest cereals?
Best type of meat to eat and how to cook it? Healthiest snacks to eat throughout my day? Healthy chips? Or atleast ones that aren't full of bad shit?
Also in terms of exercise (I know this subreddit isn't about that but that's covered). I walk all the time and an hour a day is easily attenable.

"Want a Kulade?"
Sam and Jessica stopped dead in their tracks, studying the man that had approached them. He wore a vibrant yellow suit with giant logos, and was beaming ear to ear, as he presented two cans of soda.
"Is this a marketing stunt?" asked Jessica, all too familiar with those sorts of gimmicks. Prior agency work had left her a little jaded.
"Yes, yes," said the man. He had a thick accent. "Mark-e-thing. All country. Drink!"
"Taste any good?" little Sam asked, eyeing the soda. It had a neon-vibrant design. Yellow, green, but perhaps a little too inspired by Mountain Dew.
"Young Sir, specially enriched! Here –"
"No, thank you," said Jessica. She faked a smile and pulled Sam away. They continued and saw a multitude of people passing by with Kulades in hand. Happy smiles. Feverish chatter about the taste and tingling sensations.
Protecting Sam from unhealthy stuff was difficult. Aggressive targeted advertising, peer pressure, freebies ... hell, she'd used those tactics herself.
"Moom," Sam pleaded.
Jessica shook her head. Once you became loyal to a brand, it was game over. And soft drinks ... you'd become addicted, gain weight, use it as a substitute for emotional comfort ...
"Excuse? Who likes the Kulade?"
Another man accosted them, also wearing the yellow suit. He fished out two cans from a large yellow duffel bag, trying to hand them over.
"No," said Jessica. "Thank you."
"Dumb bitch," the man muttered. Jessica felt herself reddening with rage. But for the sake of Sam, she showed restraint and walked away.
"Why can't I have one?"
"Because it's bad for your teeth," said Jessica. She had lots of arguments like that.
None of them worked.
And further down the street she saw a van parked in a crowded square. Hundreds of people were lined up, pushing and shoving in rampant fear of missing out.
"Ma'am? Sir? Want Kulade?" said a woman in a yellow suit, dangling a can.
They were everywhere. It had to be a massive operation.
Sam perked up. "Please?"
"No!"
"BUT MOOOOM!"
Suddenly, her ears rang with deafening howls coming from all directions. Air-raid sirens blared, now mingling with distant wails of sirens from police enroute.
Jessica's heart skipped a beat. Her eyes instinctively sought the sky in anticipation of a threat that did not immediately reveal itself. What the hell?
And then her phone joined in, chiming with a strange, incessant noise she'd never heard before.
A message took up the entirety of the screen:
Emergency Alert
TERRORISM. DEADLY CONTAMINATION WITH TOXIC POLLUTANTS. RADIOACTIVITY. DO NOT DRINK THE KULADE. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
Sam looked at his mother and tensed. He knew she'd be mad. He hurriedly emptied the can he'd been given, gulping down the few remaining drops.
Jessica screamed.

As a scrub like myself, there's no way I can survive the later floors even if I can do a gazillion dmg; the 32 fear penalties are too much. Solution? Cheese it with Demeter as early as floor 2!

Overview:

This build is an non-spell focused builds, with the goal of rushing Coarse Grit (Demeter Infusion) to nullify the dmg increase from Fear and Phoenix Skin(Apollo/Hestia Duo) to heal chip dmg.
They have a heft price to pay - 6 earth to activate the infusion, and at least 4 boons to activate Phoenix Skin (3 pre-req and the duo boon). To accomplish this, we pick every Card that helps make this faster - in my experience, this can consistently get Demeter Infusion Floor 2, and the Duo floor 3/4 (sometimes this duo can fail, then this is still an exceeding powerful and tanky build, just not exactly invincible).
This build can really work with any weapon, since the key is to rush defensive boons. Aspect of Momus with Apollo Special boon is ideal here, since we want to activate Phoneix skin asap and apollo turns your special into AOE. Of course, Poseidon's Special is great as well - but in this build we prefer Apollo to rush the duo. Axe with Apollo Attack is amazing as well - but if you only aim to win once, Momus 5 is just better.
In short - hang on before we rush Demeter Infusion (Consistently floor 2), and chill from that point on!

We want everything that:
Increases Reroll (XVI, XVII, XXI, XXII) and boon quality (XX). This will give us 10 rerolls, and good chance to find the Duo first try.
Number of boons (XXIII); I don't even have this maxed, but the 2 extra rewards it gives is already game-changing
And the standard goodies (Everything else); feel free to substitute I for II if you want to be more of a caster. The extra healing from II only really matters during the in between stage of having Demeter Infusion but not the duo.

We pick everything that increase enemy dmg, since we are gonna set it to 15 anyways.
We avoid the heal reduction since it will make the Duo let powerful, the timer since this build is slow, and the boon one since we want to rush critical boons.
Feel free to move some points into the Revenant one, for example 2 from the dmg barrier options if you are using a slow attack speed build like the Axe

Keepsake:

Stage 1 -
Apollo - get the good starter boon that boost dmg
Echo - to double up on Earth Element (only if you are willing to give-up often to try to high roll this)
Chaos (Only at 3 star)- Always a solid starter (if you didn't know, the boon this give stays after switching)
Stage 2 -
Demeter - DO NOT USE HER STAGE 1! The infusion will only be offered when you have at least 1 earth
Stage 3 -
Hestia - To finish the duo
Stage 4-
Apollo - If the duo is still not finished
Luckier Tooth- you have already won at this point, but this can prevent one f-up

Boons/Reroll Strat:

Look for things that complete the pre-reqs. That is:
Earth Element: Hera (the best one since she only have earth), Demeter, Hephaestus, Artemis, Hermes. Pick the best earth element boon if you see one, if not, reroll once.
Apollo/Hestia Duo: don't need more boons than necessary; look at the pre-req in your codex to see what's missing
Before Demeter Infusion Reroll every other God, especially Selene. DO NOT use any more reroll on doors after activating the infusion until stage 3, where rerolls becomes even better.
If another god is offered at the start... consider just ran into enemies ASAP

Basic question, is there any special weapon that functions similarly to indebted Kindness, as in its ability shoot projectiles that deal damage enough to break stasis crystals? I'm trying to find something for a Verglass Curve build.

My aunt has been put on a blood pressure medication called losartan potassium. She needs lo lose weight and was thinking about using Huel for two of her three meals a day. As this medication is already high in potassium she's been told to avoid salt substitutes such as losalt as these are also high in potassium which might interact with the meds. She hasn't been told to avoid anything else.
Is Huel unusually high in potassium or does it just cover what a normal person needs? Her GP is has said that anything to help with weight loss is good but doesn't know if Huel is high in potassium or not. He has suggested that she try it and periodically check her bloods to see if her potassium levels are rising. Does anyone have any experience of taking huel with medications that are high in potassium?

i bought some coconut flour ages ago but never used it mainly because the calorie content is very similar to regular all purpose flour just with more fiber. I also saw someone on this sub say it doesn’t work for volume eating because it’s calorie dense (mine is 304 calories per 100 gram with 19 grams of fiber).
I want to counter that with a trick i found recently. Any recipe using all purpose flour can be subbed for coconut flour in a 4:1 proportion, meaning if a recipe asks for 120g of all purpose flour (around 396 calories), it can be substituted for 30 grams of coconut flour (91.2 calories). I’ve tried this trick on a few recipes now including one i will link in the comments and a banana bread recipe, and it really does work to give the same rise to a baked good with 1/4 of the calories!
