2024.06.05 20:00 eddino55 fantasy baseball news from cbs. sports

Cristian Javier is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery on Thursday. He likely won't be ready to return until the second half of 2025. It's a tough blow for Javier, who hasn't looked right for some time.
Major League Baseball announced Tuesday that it has cleared Shohei Ohtani, closed its investigation, and considers him "a victim of fraud" at the hands of his former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara. Kyle Tucker was out of the lineup after fouling a ball off his right shin Monday night. X-rays did come back negative. He's day-to-day.
Ranger Suarez played catch without any issues on Tuesday and looks to be on track to start this weekend against the Mets in London.
Jack Flaherty left his start early due to back tightness. He had thrown five shutout innings with just 60 total pitches before the injury. A.J. Hinch said the team still does not know the severity of the injury, but let's hope it's nothing too serious for one of this season's best bounce-back stories.
Andres Muñoz was removed from his outing after a collision in the field, which apparently exacerbated a back injury he has been pitching through for the past few weeks. He'll have an MRI, but we could see Ryne Stanek or Tayler Saucedo in line for saves if Munoz has to miss time.
Alex Bregman got hit by a pitch on his left hand but stayed in the game. X-rays came back negative.
CJ Abrams returned to the Nationals lineup after missing three straight with a jammed left shoulder.
Zach Eflin will return from the IL to start Wednesday against the Marlins.
Thairo Estrada returned to the lineup after missing three straight with a jammed thumb.
Masataka Yoshida is expected to start a minor league rehab assignment this weekend.
Shelby Miller was activated from the IL and could be a name to watch in the Tigers bullpen with Jason Foley looking shaky.
The Braves signed Brian Anderson to a major-league contract on Tuesday. He'll provide some depth in the wake of the Acuña injury.
The Reds promoted one of their outfield prospects Blake Dunn. He was in the lineup, batting eighth against the lefty Ty Blach. He's an older prospect at 25 years old who has put up some solid power-speed numbers in recent years, so it's a name to keep an eye on if he starts to earn playing time. It's a great home park and we know they'll let him run if he gets on base.
Wednesday's top waiver targets Masyn Winn, SS, Cardinals (53%) – Alright, what's the hold up? Is it just that nobody really needs a shortstop, and that's why you all aren't adding Winn? Is it his relatively pedestrian counting stats? Winn is on pace for just 60 runs and 60 RBI despite hitting over .300 for the season with an OPS now approaching .800. That's mostly a function of his low spot in a mediocre lineup, and you've gotta think the Cardinals are going to move him up at some point,
he has three homers over his past 15 games after Tuesday's. With 20-plus steal upside (potentially more if he wants to be more aggressive) and a potential standout batting average, Winn should at least be rostered in all categories leagues, and if he gets moved up in the order, he's going to matter in points, too.
Brandon Lowe, 2B, Rays (53%) – For the most part, it hasn't turned into production yet, but I remain pretty confident Lowe is going to be a solid Fantasy option this season, and if you missed out on Nolan Gorman during his recent homer binge, Lowe is a solid consolation prize. He finally hit his first homer of the season Tuesday as part of a massive game where he also had a double, drove in five runs and scored two, and even had a walk for good measure. Lowe was still on a 30-plus homer pace last year despite dealing with injuries, and he can still absolutely be one of the standout power options at the 2B position when he's right. If Tuesday is any indication, he might be about to take off.
Frankie Montas had a terrific start against the Rockies in Coors Field, and I just don't know what to take from that one – Coors Field is such a weird place to pitch that I tend to just throw most results out, and his increased slider usage in this start doesn't exactly make me more confident, seeing as that's never really been the key pitch for him.
more notes We got two potential difference makers back, with Luis Robert (hip) and Royce Lewis (quad) both coming off the IL with a bang Tuesday, as each homered in their first game back. Injuries remain a significant issue for both of them, but if you could guarantee me even 80% of the remaining games from either, I'd probably rank both as top-50 overall players, with Lewis as a top-five 3B and Robert as a top-11 OF.
Gerrit Cole isn't back from his injury yet, but he took a big step forward Tuesday as well, making his first rehab assignment. We don't have full radar readings from this one, but Cole seemed to be sitting around 95-96 and touching 97, and he struck out five over 3.1 shutout innings at Double-A. He probably still has at least a few more weeks worth of rehab ahead of him, but we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel,

2024.06.05 07:14 -gvfnu ONE PIECE FILM: NEW LIFE (Fan Idea)

Since One Piece is gonna end in the next 5-10 years, now would be the time to make one last movie. Obviously they’d want to make their last movie go out in a bang, so I’ve come up with a little Fan Idea of what I would think the last One Piece movie would be like
This film would he called….
“ONE PIECE FILM: NEW LIFE”
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
What if the Strawhats land on an Island that looks exactly like Modern-Day Japan called “New Life” a city where nobody dies. Filled with modern Cars, Buildings, SmartPhones, Etc. Putting them in a fantastic setting they’ve never been in before.
After lots of shenanigans, they eventually meet a man named “Rozz” who has been very fond of the Strawhats for a while. He’s the leader in this country, however… he used to be a pirate with non other then Rocks D. Xebec. Rozz also has the Life-Life Fruit, which gives him the ability to bring back the dead from anywhere he wants. Unfortunately he uses this to bring back none other than Gol. D Rodger himself, using him to find the One Piece. It will take Rozz 10 days to reach the One Piece, leaving the Strawhats stranded on his Island.
The Strawhats know they can’t catch up to Rozz, nor can they beat Gol D. Rodger. So they try to figure out a plan for the middle chunk of the movie. Eventually, Franky comes up with the idea to broadcast across the world that they need help to stop Rozz.
Nobody likes this plan except for Luffy. He uses one of the Smartphones to make the broadcast, telling everyone around the world to come together to stop Rozz. 10 days later, Luffy’s Results show.
Multiple Pirates come to help him (Heart Pirates, The Kuja Warriors [With Boa], Cross Guild, and so many more]
Luffy also gets the residents of “New Life” to help with the fight, calling it “The Great Awakening” He uses Gear 5 to launch all the ships to their destination… Laugh Tale.
However, as soon as they all step on the island… they pass out laughing. Luffy’s crew & Everyone else wakes up back on “New Life” with Rozz doing a speech that they are too late, he’s already the new king of the pirates. He also states that he is planning on blowing up “new life“ in 25 Minutes.
Luffy suddenly runs to Rozz’s lair. Begging to join him, he tells Rozz to bring back two more people from the dead, whispering it into his ear. Rozz, thinking that Luffy is on his side now, he listens and starts to bring back…
Portgas D. Ace and Edward Newgate (Whitebeard)
They’re both confused as to where they are, but they immediately hug each other. Both starting to cry. Luffy holds back tears as he hugs Ace and Whitebeard aswell, whispering them something as they hug.
Once they break the hug, they immediately start to beat up Rozz, Luffy confirming that he was just using him to get Ace and Whitebeard back to stop him. Once Rozz gets back on his feet however, he starts using a part of his Devil Fruit nobody has seen. Bringing back Multiple different people from the dead as his army. He also brings back his old captain… Rocks D. Xebec, and Rocks immediately notices Rodger and Whitebeard.
The war Luffy stated earlier starts to sprawl out. The war being the Strawhats, Heart Pirates, The Kuja Warriors [With Boa], Cross Guild, Ace, and Whitebeard, against Rozz, the army of old soldiers, Gol D. Rodger, and Rocks D. Xebec.
Eventually, it just comes to Luffy, Ace, Whitebeard, Rodger, and Rocks. A 3 V 2 goes on… Luffy getting to fight alongside Ace one more time. Eventually Luffy wants to do a joint attack to defeat Rodger and Xebec. So Ace puts Luffy on fire with Luffy does a barrage of fast punches, calling it the “Brotherly-Gatling” and using Gear 5… he grabs Roger and Xebec, convincing them that Rozz is the bad guy. Once they’re convinced, they all surround a very bloody and beaten up Rozz.
Rocks grabs his former crewmate and jumps into the Ocean with him, drowning himself and Rozz. Now that Rozz is dead, the clones start to fade away, the first to go being Rodger… giving out one final laugh. The next to go being Whitebeard, thanking everyone and calling them his children before fading away.
And the last to go is Ace, starting to tear up when he sees Luffy in his Gear 5 form, remembering when he was a kid. He hugs Luffy tightly and says “Thank You… For Loving Me” in a more somber tone. He lets go of the hug and tilts his hat… fading away.
Luffy cries, but with a smile on his face this time. Since he got to see his brother one last time.
Luffy meets up with the others and checks on them, Chopper already treating their wounds. Luffy stands on top of a mountain of rubble, thinking to himself while everyone else was slowly recovering.
Luffy thinks to himself about how his adventure is almost over, and how he might never see his crew again… due to all the dangers he faces.
However, he looks back at his crew and thinks to himself that no matter what, he found his own treasure, his own One Piece, his own Life…
END.
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
This was a lot of fun to write about, but this obviously is just an idea and nothing should be taken seriously.
I just wanted to start a discussion about this and what people think about this, and it’s fine if you hate it. If anything I’m glad you do, since it inspires me to become a better writer.
But… that’s just me
What are your ideas for the next One Piece Film? Let me know!

2024.06.04 22:12 Tryingmybest2567 Dazzle theory

So, I was rewatching the video where moon meets dazzle, and it got me thinking. Dazzle is basically confirmed to be a victim of July 16th. my theory revolves around that, so that after July 16th Eclipse was worried about Sun finding out about him or Bloodmoon, so he tried (and failed) to clean up the daycare. In that process he hid Dazzle's human body in the walls or somewhere in the portal. my bets are on the portal because it could have either obscured the smell of a rotting body or because moon said it kind of warps time and space, it could have frozen the decomposition process, then the renovations paved her over. So, Sun or Moon never noticed there was a child's body in the wall. But however that happened, Dazzle's human body was put close enough to the Dazzle deer animatronic for her soul to transfer bodies. That transfer is most likely caused by the portal warping time and space. So, when the portal went off, it caused Dazzle's soul to get mixed up, or attract itself to better body, but in the process, it scrambled her memories. which roughly placed her waking up around two years ago. which if I'm going to further the timeline, according to moon the Dazzle Deer model was built around 20 years ago, which means the model was built approximately between 2000 & 2004. which means we can inference that her suit, (like the one Frankie lost) was probably either reminiscent of the 90s or Y2K. this gives us a whole lot of ideas about her, and I'm curious about what you think!

2024.05.28 16:11 Team_Sanji The Giant Robot's true nature

Man, Oda has been teasing the hell out of the fan base with this Iron Giant. It takes a couple steps every other chapter, but why?? And how does it work? Is it alive???? This theory may answer some of these questions.
I believe that the Iron Giant is a ship, or was. And the power source/soul of this robot...is a Klabautermann.
The Klabautermann has been an incredibly interesting mystery in One Piece ever since introduced in Skypiea. Originally just a legend, it's a soul of a ship manifest, and proved to be a real mystical being through the Going Merry. The Merry itself came to life at the end of Enies Lobby, to save the Straw Hats in order to go on one more adventure with them. Man, this thing was REAL, and literally brought an inanimate sailing vessel to life with its own conscience and goal.
The actions of this Giant Robot have been greatly reminding me of this Klabautermann idea that Oda has yet to revisit since Enies Lobby. Now, Vegapunk believed that an Ancient Energy powers the robot, and it since ran out of said energy. This could just be his theory, as it seems based on the introduction of the Klabautermann, the mystical being is not confirmed by science.
Based on the Ancient Energy theory, it remains very unclear how Luffy's Gear 5 activation would suddenly funnel an ancient energy into this once empty robot. It seems like something Oda is really holding back the explanation for, as it would imply even more crazy broken mythical devil fruit Sun God powers for Luffy.
Now if it is a Klabautermann however, that makes way more sense to me. The actual soul of Joy Boy's ship, lying dormant until it heard it's old Captains drums of liberation again. Of course that would wake it up! We've already seen the Merry spring into action when the crew needed it most. This Iron Giant is doing the same for Joy Boy.
The Iron Giant speaks as well, with a conscience it seems, saying "Sorry". Are we really supposed to believe this is just technology and not a soul? In addition, would something without a soul seek vengeance on Marejois 200 years prior when awoken somehow? Did it somehow awaken when a tribe of people played the specific Nika heartbeat, and told the Iron Giant what become of Joy Boy's crew and the World Government?
Now the question remains, why is it an Iron Giant then and not a ship? This I cannot say, but I can guess that the Iron Giant was built specifically to house the Joy Boy crew's Klabautermann. Or even crazier, it could have some advanced transformation technology that allows it to change into a ship. This is extremely possible considering modern day, less advanced One Piece tech allows Franky to turn a robot into a tank.
This also would answer how it even got to Marejois 200 years ago. This vengeful uncontrollable robot didn't just hitch a ride on some big boat, it had to navigate the ocean somehow on its own, if not walking on the ocean floor. (Or that's even where it came from).
This last point also ties into why it's here on Egghead narratively. It is heading towards the Ocean, and the Giant Pirates as well as the Straw Hats are struggling against the Gorosei. The Giant Pirate ship has already taken damage from Venusjuro. Is this Iron Giant going to transform into a massive vessel for the Giants, Strawhats and Sunny to escape together?

2024.05.28 08:17 avbavey My mom makes me lock my cat in the back room at night

I got my cat Frankie around june of 2023, and she was 3 months old, so she’s a bit older than a year old by now.
at first everything was great, she cuddled with me every night and slept with me, but she would get up in the middle of the night and run around and go into my moms room, disturbing her and her cat Salem.
because she kept waking my mom up, she made me start locking my cat in the back room (which is an extra bedroom that’s used as an office)
i put a litter box, food and water and toys in there to at least try and keep her entertained but i get so sad because we used to cuddle every night and now she barely gets to see me because of school and errands and stuff :/
i tried suggesting that we could train her to not run around at night but my mom said she didn’t have the money for the trainer or the time to train Frankie herself. And i have no idea how to train cats or if you even can since she’s an adult now technically
i don’t really know what to do, i guess i’m asking for advice. she meows and whines all night and i can still hear her from my room and i just get sad because i miss sleeping with her at night:(

2024.05.24 15:33 PeaceDry1649 Perfect Morning Watches

Hello everyone, recently I finished school and started an internship. The internship is unfortunately not until noon though I can’t get out of the habit of waking up at 8:30. What shows would you recommend to be perfect morning watches?
Things that I’m looking for may have a natural setting (usually during the day), lightheartedness, and non-suspenseful nature (maybe somewhat per episode if it’s handled lightly like monk or psych but not overall so I don’t think about them during my workday). I find period stuff to work pretty well if it’s not set so far back that it’s very gory/war-based (exceptions of far back setting are galavant or Merlin) or if it’s based in romance. GMM is something I watch but that’s not much time.
I prefer shows with female leads but as long as there are well-written female characters even as supporting I can find them enjoyable. I’m open to non English/American stuff as well and older shows even going back to the 60s if they’re not too problematic as getting upset isn’t really a great way to start the day (the bar is if most of the humor is based on bigotry of some kind).
I put a list of a few that I’ve seen but that fit my ask and even divided them in case anyone else is looking for this. Thanks if you have any recs!
Cartoon Daria Adventure Time Bobs Burgers
Comedy Dramas Wonderfalls Pushing Daisies Funny Woman Red Oaks Club Crazy Ex GF Zoey’s extraordinary playlist Ted Lasso
Period All Creatures great and small Downton Abbey Anne of Green Gables (love the Netflix show but I’m referring to the series as that’s a bit darker than I’d like) Road to Avonlea Mr.Selfridge Our Flag Means Death The Artful Dodger The Durrells The Reply Series
Sitcoms Modern Family Golden Girls The wonder years Boy meets world Full house Fawlty Towers Grace and Frankie Two Guys and a Girl Living Single Laverne and Shirley Dollface New Girl Acapulco
Sketch comedies/reality A different world Kids in the hall SCTV Dr.Show Taskmaster
Not mentioned by seen: most Disney and Nickelodeon shows (my favorite is the mysterious Benedict society), childhood cartoons such as total drama island, and most BBC Period Dramas.

2024.05.23 07:55 laurynlionheart !! SOS !! potty training 4yo Italian Greyhound w/ broken leg that’s been rehomed

I recently became the full-time caregiver of my family dog, Frankie- he now lives with me & my boyfriend in a ground floor apartment. Unfortunately, I found out that my parents weren’t looking after him too well and Frankie has gotten very used to pooping inside his crate and/or in his bed when left home alone and overnight. What makes it even harder is that he was attacked and now his right front leg is broken and is in a cast. It’s been almost 4 weeks and he pees on leash okay-ish? It takes awhile and sometimes multiple attempts but he will eventually do it, but he WILL NOT poop. He’s pooped outside ONCE in almost a month and has had countless accidents within his rest area.
He’s taken outside multiple times a day- 2 or 3 times (until he goes) in the morning when he wakes up/before I leave for work & and the same goes for in the evening/before bed. He eats between breakfast between 9-10am and dinner anywhere between 5-8 depending on my work schedule. Even with having this routine, he doesn’t show signs that he needs to use the bathroom.
While we’re not home and for bedtime we have him set up in a sort of playpen area because it was difficult for him to move/lay comfortably in his crate with his cast and cone at first. No matter where we put him he is extremely restless once awake, ends up stepping in his mess, and whines for hours before he gets comfortable again. I would love to get Frankie back in his crate since that is what he’s been used to all his life, but for the past year that is where my parents would allow him to poop…
While I do have the advantage of creating my own work schedule, I can’t be home 24/7 and unfortunately can’t afford a walkesitter.
I would really appreciate any tips! I want to make Frank as comfortable as possible while he’s healing and stop this unhealthy (stinky) habit.
Edit: Frankie house trained easily as a puppy and is definitely an “outside boy”. My family had a fenced in yard which allowed him to sniff and roam for a good spot and knows the command “go potty”. He has always had problems using the bathroom on a leash, even when taking him on walks he would wait until back at the house to go potty in the backyard. Now that he’s at my apartment and in this cast it’s like we’re starting his training from scratch.

2024.05.21 18:05 Brilliant_Shine2247 My Response to the Guy Telling You About Them Homeless Folks

This is for the guy trying to say not to give money to homeless people flying a sign. This my personal experience from being homeless in Wilmington. I can't say as I speak for everyone, just my experience.
I'm still homeless, but I've moved out of Wilmington. I had to teach myself how to read and write all over again, and this is what I do now. I hope you enjoy.

Six-thirty am, I woke up to my alarm. I had to be at work at nine, and I didn't want to be frazzled from being in panic mode on my first day, hurried, and hassled. No, sir. You don't get too many chances to make a first impression.

Rolled out of my sleeping bag with a smooth, well practiced motion, unzipped the flap, and made my way out into brisk spring morning air, taking a brief pause, taking in the natural beuaty of the forest. If it hadn't been for the sounds of the highway a few hundred yards away, this scene could have been from a camping trip or hike that I remembered from days gone by. I didn't pause to think about too long due to the urgency to find a suitable tree to relieve myself. Fifty feet, at least. Fifty feet. Otherwise, that smell could come back to haunt you. This wasn't a camping trip but rather where I lived. My homestead, abode, residence, shelter, and as far as I could tell, it would be for a long time to come.

I decided to drink my energy drink, which had come to replace my morning cup of brew, outside this fine morn, so I made my way back to the tent and pulled my Monster can and my half full box of handrolled cigarettes from their hiding places, turned around and walked the fifteen feet to my "visiting bench". Aptly named because that's where we all sat when someone came visiting, which wasn't very often, a few feet in front was the small firepit. A hundred or so yards beyond, down a respectable hill, sat Frankies tent, another fifty yards at the split in the trail was Chris's small pup tent, where a small pile of trash meant that Chris and I needed to talk. This was my site, and I had few rules, and trash was something I didn't want to see.

According to the rules out here, our social contract, the first person at a campsite was in charge and I had spent the last month of winter all alone here to earn the right to call the shots. After all, it was deemed The Allen Compound for the Criminally Insane by my friend who led a real boots on the ground street outreach in town, someone that I had insane respect for and not a small bit of love. We weren't. I won't speak to insane.

I took a seat on the bench, popped the top on the Monster, lit up a smoke, and took a big long pull of the drink. Spring was starting to show now, and the highway was slowly starting to hide behind the new growth of forest. My tent was already invisible from the road thanks to a large camouflaged tarp that I had strung to block the view once I recovered from the panic attack following the discovery of how visible it once was. That discovery came not long after I set up camp, as I was returning from town. Walking down the shoulder of the highway, I just happened to look up in the direction of my camp and saw that my tent sat in the middle of a big clearing of branches, making a perfect frame for my work of art. The realization that thousands of people could have seen that on a daily basis. I was live bait for any psychotic person or persons to visit on a full moon. Recalling the stories of people setting sleeping people on fire for the fun of watching a human cook, I instantly turned on my heels and headed back into town, a spy who just realized he'd been compromised. I didn't return until I had a tarp, but even then, it was some time before sleep came easy.

Seven am and the spring sun were now spreading its rays of love to its children in the forest undergrowth, letting everything know it was day shift now in the kingdom. Down below, I spied Frankie, who piled out of his tent and sprinted to a tree like his bladder had caught fire. At the sight of this, I barked three times in greeting. He threw his head back and made a rooster crow, knowing it would wake Chris up long enough to feel the urgency. And by the time I stood up finish the last bit of my morning nectar, sure enough, scrambled out of his tent and instantly let it go right beside where his head would lay when he slept. I shook my head and trudged to my place to change clothes. A light blue polo type short sleeve tucked neatly into my cleanest pair of jeans, then a long sleeve light flannel over that as a precaution, because a lesson learned early is that you dressed for all day. There was no going home to get a coat when the temps plummeted, so it was wise to have that coat ready at all times. I changed my socks, put on my shoes and out of the flap I went. I closed it up and placed a pine needle inside the zipper that would let me know when I got back if anyone had violated my space.

Seven ten am, and I was on my way. I had fourty minutes to be at the bus stop a little over a mile from the camp and I didn't want to be late, so off I went down the trail, just past Frankies tent I took a left, pausing just long enough to notice that Chris had gone back to bed and left his flap door open, then another fifty yard and over the fence to what I referred to as the 'exposed zone'. There, I was out of the woods walking down a small trail hidden only from the waist down by overgrown weeds and grass. The exposed zone went about a hundred and fifty yards to the shoulder of the highway, where I would merge left, facing the oncoming traffic. At that point, it wouldn't be so obvious to passing cars that I had just emerged from the woods, and the exact spot would no doubt be a mystery. There, my pace stepped up to an average of four miles an hour, something that I had clocked many times, and these days, it was a knowledge that came in handy. I could deal with being homeless, but not tardy. Every minute I walked along the shoulder of the highway, I was fraught with danger, at least in my overactive brain. I could envision cars swerving to miss the car ahead and turning me into a hood ornament, or blowing a tire and taking me out when the driver loses control for that half a second. Maybe something would fall out of the many dump trucks that passed frequently at seventy miles an hour and cleanly decapitate me before I even saw it coming. Why not? It's not like I was having a good luck streak, let's be honest.

Seven fifty am and I managed to make it to the bus stop with all my organs just where they should be and my head still attached to my body. I lit up a smoke and fished three quarters out of my pocket, ready to pay my way and go to work. The bus pulled up on time, and I climbed aboard, nodding to the driver in solidarity, one working man to the other, dropped my coins of passage into the box, turned and found an empty seat by the window. I watched as the scenery went from historical homes with their gates and carefully tended lawns to the brown crabgrass and dirt yards where the children played in poverty, then to the blocks of businesses where hopes and dreams were born and died, with their big banners proclaiming another last chance at big savings, or let you know that for the twentieth time this furniture store was going out of business and these prices wouldn't last. Nothing but a higher class of a carnival barker. Free financing, limited time only, no interest for ninety days, credit same as cash, act now, last chance to save, overstocked and marked down, employee pricing, never before savings, trade ins welcome, don't miss out, and my all time favorite, below wholesale. Imagine that a business surviving by losing money. The saddest part of it all is that these tactics worked on people. For the second time that morning, I shook my head.

Eight thirty eight am and the doors open at my destination, my job site, half the bus stood up to depart. Standing up and slipping No. 7 onto my shoulders, I let the line shuffle past me with the knowledge that I had time to spare

Eight forty, I stepped off the bus, gravitating to have a smoke with a small group of like-minded people who nodded their approval as I approached. The signal that I was accepted in the circle of debauchery. I made it clear, though, that I had no time to make small talk because I had to go to work and I was a responsible person. On time, it was late, and ten minutes early was on time. That was my motto, starting now, at least. Eight fourty five am I started to the job site, feeling the anxiety butterflies come to life in the pit of my stomach. I had never done this sort of work before, and I hoped I would catch on quick.

Eight fifty am, and I was standing beside the exit lane of the Walmart Superstore on a patch of grass where the stopsign was planted, dropping No. 7 to the earth. I bent over and unzipped the section that contained the piece of cardboard. As I put my fingers on it, I felt emotions pour over me, a mixture of shame, embarrassment, and determination. This was my third try at this, but I was determined not to chicken out this time, so, choking everything back down I pulled the sign from my bag and turned to face the cars coming up to the stop sign so I could show them the story of my life, condensed down to some scribbles from a Sharpie which read, 'Traumatic Brain Injury' in large lettering, with a smaller, 'Please Help' below. I'd never felt so alone as I did in that spot light that day at Walmart, that my life had led me to this point, here with a sign begging for money from strangers to get things I needed. It seemed like I couldn't even breathe with my phone service cut off, as I still felt sure that my son would call me at any minute to see how I was, and knowing that life line was severed was unbearable.

A grey van with a logo pulled up to the stop sign and I heard one of the doors open, then close, so I turned around to see someone jogging up to me, holding out his hand with a twenty dollar bill pinched in his fingers, "Here you go, brother. Take care of yourself, my man, "then back to the van and was gone.

I broke. Just like that. I broke.

2024.05.15 09:39 Apple_Pi3 How do i stop my young cat from carrying things into his litterbox?

We got my cat Dr Frankenstein (or frankie) around last Halloween, he was about 6 or 8 months old when we got him, and since then hes been flourishing! He has such an expressive personality, has bonded to me and follows me around, really loves our dog and other cats, and has overall been the best cat ive had. But he has this habit of carrying objects he finds into the litterbox, and will also steal things and bring them into our bathtub. He had a stealing habit from the start, but we did our best to discourage it. Hes been sneaky though, and we've been waking up to hand towels, toilet paper rolls, cat toys- whatever he can grab, in the litter boxes. at first I thought he might feel unsafe or didnt like the litterboxes, but hes been such a confident cat otherwise, its hard to tell. Is this something i can fix? is it normal, is he just being a little silly? any help would be appreciated! im also unsure if i was supposed to put this under litterbox flair, but it feels more behavioral- let me know if it should be changed.

2024.05.15 05:30 delibirdguy Top 500 Songs Ever (Subjective)

Over the course of the past few months I have been working on compiling a list of my 500 favorite songs. It was sort of challenge that I gave myself and I'm super pumped with how it turned out. There were a few rules (only 5 songs per artist being the big rule, among a few others), and here's the list I came up with. “Walk to Arlong Park” Roger Crew Edition [Fanfiction]
FANFICTION "ARLONG PARK WALK" (ROGER CREW EDITION)
  • The Roger Pirates go to Water 7 to find Tom to fix their ship (remember from Odens Flashback)
  • Figarland Garling and the God Knights want Shanks back.
  • Unknowingly to the Roger Pirates, they were being tracked by the World Government.
  • Half of the God Knights and CP0 go to Water 7 to get Shanks.
  • At night, while Shanks and Buggy are secretly exploring Water 7, they get kidnapped by CP0.
  • CP0 and the God Knights take Shanks and Buggy on a World Government Ship.
  • They cannot go anywhere because Water 7 is currently experiencing an aqua laguna.
  • Buggy tries to fight back and save his brother but fails and is terribly overpowered.
  • CP0 and God Knights beat up Buggy.
  • Buggy is dumped into the ocean.
  • Buggy was luckily able to survive sinking into the ocean as he finds and grabs a floating wood plank drifting towards him.
  • He climbs onto it and he loses consciousness due to fatigue and he drifts across to the other side of the island where the Roger Pirates are.
  • Young Franky is building his battle ships when all of a sudden, he Finds Buggy drifting towards him.
  • Franky brings Buggy to Roger Pirates. Buggy wakes up while Franky is carrying him.
  • Franky goes to the Roger Pirate Ship and finds Roger, Rayleigh, Gaban and Oden. Everyone else is asleep since its late.
  • Buggy tells Roger what happened, that him and Shanks were kidnapped and he was beaten and thrown into the ocean.
  • Instead of waking everyone up, Roger, Rayleigh, Gaban and Oden go to where the World Government Ship is.
  • They are all pissed off at what they did to Buggy and are even more pissed off that they think they can kidnap Shanks, one of their own.
  • Hence, in the middle of a Storm and an Aqua Laguna, they recreate the "Arlong Park Walk" but now with the Roger Pirates instead.

Memory transcription subject: Reno, Yotul Weapons Specialist
Date [standardized human time]: December 3rd, 2136
I woke to the crack of an explosion. I jolted up, frantically looking around. My immediate surroundings seemed to be in one piece.
I pushed myself up, grabbing my sidearm before peeking out into the hallway. I faintly heard the voices of Luke and Dusty. They were calm. With a sigh, I slumped back onto the floor, absently scratching my ear. I rested my head back on my pack and stared up at the ceiling.
I tensed upon hearing another explosion, though this one sounded further away. It was almost indistinguishable from a clap of thunder. If I didn’t know better, I almost would’ve confused it for one, too. There was indeed a coming storm looming in the distance, but not one born of Sillis’ expansive ocean. Clouds of dark metal would rain drops of hellfire, taking away life rather than giving it, leaving acrid fumes rather than pleasant petrichor, and stopping when nothing was left standing.
I didn’t know what time it was, but it didn’t matter. The grays were dropping bombs for nothing, having little impact on any Tilfish in the town. Most of their chitinous prizes were already deep underground and secured in bunkers, sparing those who hid outside the bunkers or fled the town outright. The civilians were offered the small mercy of the UN fighting back upon pulling away from Sillis, which gave them enough time to hide. The warning was prolonged by whatever the Arxur were doing. I could only imagine what had happened in the larger cities since I’ve been asleep, as little time as that must’ve been.
Now, as evidenced by the slowly increasing frequency of thunder, they apparently wanted to taste what Tepisil had to offer. The windows of our building gradually rattled increasingly often, making it hard to get back to sleep, each one a reminder of what I had done, sending sharp pangs of dread and despair in my gut.
“You up?” Luke’s voice suddenly pierced into the room.
I looked down from the ceiling and sat up. “Yeah. Explosion woke me.”
“Probably the first one, too. Loud as hell… It’s gonna be a long night. Frankie’s still on Sillis, in Dirlsil.”
If I wasn’t awake before, I was surely awake at that news. “How?”
“The spaceport was bombed before he could escape, and he managed to grab some weapons on his way back. Something happened to his van and some Arxur, and he’s stranded. Herq is with him, too.”
He stayed with Frankie through all that? I expected that coward to be off planet, or what he deserved more: left behind. After what all these exterminators and resistance forces did, they don’t deserve the easy way out.
“So I take it we’re going to go get them?” I managed.
“I doubt anybody else is going to, especially now that bombs are dropping. Some timing.”
“How long ago did you learn about it?”
“Few minutes. Dusty was awake when Frankie’s radio came in, she told me about it.”
“And now you’re waking me up since we’re leaving.”
“Pretty much,” he replied.
I sighed. “I guess we shouldn’t waste any time, then.”
“Nope. Ignoring the weapons, Frankie needs us. Grab your stuff.”
I nodded, and he left. It wasn't hard to force my tired body into getting myself situated. Shouldering my pack and grabbing my rifle, I headed out of my temporary place of sleep. I entered the small office where Luke and Dusty were, the windows overlooking the empty street of Bunker Four, save for the abandoned cluster of cars around the entrance.
“Did you enjoy your beauty rest?” Dusty immediately asked.
I cocked an ear. “Uh. Yeah?” A tiny smile tugged at her lips, but she only shook her head.
Luke zipped his pack up and slung it around himself. “Alright. Everyone ready?”
“We’re all going?” I asked.
“Unless you want to stay here,” Dusty remarked.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” Luke finished, grabbing his helmet off the desk and pushing it onto his skull.
He was clearly in a rush to get going, and in no time we’d gathered everything we brought into the building with us and were pushing aside furniture out of the stairwells. Luke didn’t say a word as he jogged down the stairs, setting a brisk pace for me and Dusty. Soon, we were out of the building, where the sounds of explosions became all too clear.
“This place isn’t going to be much better than hell,” I muttered.
Dusty snickered, “With our luck, it’ll probably be worse.”
Luke ignored her, taking charge and leading us along the side of a small alley. It was dark, and its eeriness was only amplified by the not-so-distant pops of bombs. I looked up, but couldn’t see anything other than stars, not even flashes of a space battle. Each crack of thunder that echoed between the walls was a grim reminder of what was to come.
I couldn’t imagine how despairing it must have been in Dirlsil for Frankie. How he must have felt, realizing his only way out was blown to smithereens. It was so much more sudden for him and only caused by unfortunate circumstances; not by the direct actions of any one person; not the slow burn of a terrible mistake. Now, some way or another, he was stranded in one of the largest cities, the prime target for Arxur raiding. There was no question that the grays were the reason he was stuck there.
We were experiencing the same thing now, though I imagined we had the added benefit of preparedness. And we weren’t being slowed down by a spineless exterminator.
Luke got into the driver’s seat, while Dusty got in back like she usually did. He kept the headlights off while he slowly backed out of the passage, and soon we were on our way. He turned a corner and once we passed the building we’d been behind, I was offered a clear view out my window at the heart of Tepisil.
The lightless skyline wasn’t impressive by any means, being far more wide than tall with only a few ones poking above the rest near the center. We cut through the intersection just in time for a spectacular streak of explosions to erupt across multiple buildings. I took a second for the sound to reach us, a sharp yet muffled series of thuds.
Somehow, a shorter building far down the street was already alight with billows of fire sprouting up from a hole within, and looked likely to spread to its neighbors. The Arxur must have known the population had long been inside bunkers, meaning they were doing this for other reasons. It might’ve been for a twisted sense of amusement, since I thought a mere head start on the total destruction of Sillis would be pointless; antimatter bombs were far more efficient.
Dusty also caught a glimpse out the window. “Shit. And Frankie’s in a city twenty times this size.”
“We’ll be out in a few minutes,” Luke muttered, mostly to himself.
We neared the entrance to the bunker, encroaching on the dozens of cars whose owners had the brilliant idea to leave scattered in a mess around the bunker entrance. I thought back to the swarms of Tilfish streaming out of various buildings. There must have been hundreds, right below our feet. We were leaving them alone, right as the Arxur began looking for them. I missed Luke and Von’s conversation, but I figured they had a plan while we were gone.
As we came upon them and Luke began to swirl his hands to steer through the maze, I caught a bright flicker in the rearview mirrors.
I strained my head to see, but it was gone as quickly as I had seen it. I turned to the humans. “Did either of you just see-”
Something loud swooped over our truck and a second later a ship came into view, hurtling loudly over us with its fiery propulsion system casting reflections on the buildings surrounding us.
“Shit!” Luke shouted, immediately giving the truck some gas, veering quicker through the other vehicles. There was a sharp grind of metal as he pushed through a tight gap between vehicles.
“There’s no way they know the bunker is here already!” Dusty exclaimed.
The surrounding buildings gave me a sense of its size, and it appeared relatively small, likely only fitting a pawful of Arxur. It was just a dropship, but that fact didn’t make it any less threatening during its gradual descent along the thoroughfare.
“It's seen us,” I warned, seeing it slow down. Luke didn’t respond.
Its descent culminated in the first intersection in front of us, lowering to the ground while our truck was just barely making it through the mess of abandoned vehicles. Luke kept his sight on the road, accelerating towards it rather than turning around.
Dusty looked through the windshield from between our seats. “You’re insane for driving towards them.”
Its metal legs were on the ground, and we were only halfway down the street. The engine was roaring, sending a deep buzz throughout the cabin as Luke gunned it straight down the street.
His acceleration meant he was planning to squeeze in between the ship and the curb of the sidewalk rather than trying to dodge around it, and his speed meant that if he missed, we would be in for a nasty speed bump.
The hatch to the ship peeled open and two dark bodies stepped out. I could hardly make out their outline from this distance. Their bodies shifted, betraying anticipation.
Luke’s eyes went wide. “Shit! Get down!”
His word came out right as a flash blitzed into the windshield, sending a crack across the length of it. I yanked myself out of sight, pushing tightly against my seat as bursts of gunfire rang from beyond the humming engine.
Luke kept his head up, barely. I could only see more cracks peel into the windshield, and soon my own passenger window was being decorated. Tiny splinters of glass fell to my fur. I caught a glimpse of the sharp metal corner of their ship right as the gunshots were loudest.
We hurled past them in a flash, speed unrelenting for long moments after the fact. Heart racing, I only raised my head once I was sure the gunfire faded, and was finally absent. Hardly anything was visible out of my window if I didn’t look through one of the several holes that wind was screaming through. The windshield wasn’t much better, though most of the splintering had occurred on my side.
Luke had to angle his head awkwardly to look at the road. His face was tight, his teeth bared. “It’s good to fucking know they’d rather shoot than get out of the way,” he snarled.
“I don’t know what the hell you were expecting, driving at them,” Dusty growled.
“You wanna drive this thing? Shut the hell up.”
She rolled her eyes, a gesture only I saw. “Where the fuck did they even come from?”
“From orbit, like the rest of them,” I answered, to which Dusty gave me a glare.
I cast one last glance behind us, only barely making out the outline of the dropship. We were relatively safe now, but it hadn’t moved, meaning they were going to stay right next to the bunker.
“They’re gonna find the entrance immediately,” Luke huffed, as if reading my thoughts. “Shit. Dusty, let Von know. I’m sure he’s already shouting at a dozen other exterminators—just send him a message.”
“On it,” Dusty replied. “Did you even tell him we were going to get Frankie?”
Luke frowned. “I… don’t think so. Tell him that, too.”
My ear perked up as I picked a piece of glass off myself. “Wait, you didn’t tell him?”
“...Wasn’t on my mind.”
“He’s not going to like the fact that we effectively abandoned Bunker Four, right as Arxur showed up on it.”
His frown deepened. “Frankie has weapons which they're all aching for.”
“Are you sure the exterminators will see it that way?” I questioned.
“I don’t fucking know!” Luke spat. “The only thing I’m worried about right now is Frankie. It wasn’t even a decision. They can question my morals all night long, but I’m tired of doing it myself. I’m sick of making impossible choices every other hour.”
“I’m not arguing, I’m just… thinking the worst, I guess. You did the right thing. We don’t owe them anything.” Despite my words, my mind wandered to the bunker, to the countless souls inside it.
“I’m with Reno,” Dusty said. “We come first. In any case, maybe we should take the side roads.”
Luke grunted. “There’s an idea.”
The truck shuddered as he slowed down just enough to take a turn down a deserted street, speeding away from the denser part of town. Slowly, the buildings became further spread apart along with the emptily blinking traffic signals.
“You having any second thoughts about hiding in a field after that, Luke?” Dusty asked.
He grunted. “I know you’re being an ass, but Frankie was the one who told you he only knew we were here because of Von informing him. It will still be worth it—there’s lives that can be saved.”
“Wait, that’s how Frankie found out about us?” I asked.
“Yep. You can ask Dusty all about it.”
She nodded. “He just came through the radio out of nowhere. His Tilfish friend is the reason for that, apparently.”
“Which means my decision to side with them has already paid off. Hate to say I told you so, but…”
“You can’t thank the exterminators for that,” I argued.
“That’s why I’m thanking me for that.”
“Back to my point, Luke,” Dusty resumed. “My mom would say to stop gambling while you’re ahead.”
“That doesn’t really matter if you were never ahead, or were even gambling in the first place. And look in the sky—nothing. The UN’s clearly not taking their chances on us right now, so I'm not exactly hopeful for a happy ending to this shit. It’s either certain death, or certain death in a blaze of glory.”
“Great,” Dusty muttered. “My favorite kind of death.”
I perked an ear up, another thing coming to mind. “Did you find out what kind of weapons Franke grabbed?”
Luke shrugged. “Wasn’t really focused on that part, to be honest.”
“They visited the armory at basecamp, right?”
“Yeah. If we’re lucky, he grabbed enough for everyone and then some. Hopefully some bigger ones, too.”
My mind wandered back to when Struthers had given me the grand tour of their armory. A few of those munitions could put a serious dent into an Arxur dropship, or even a larger bomber or cattle ship if one had the right angle. I wasn’t sure if any could completely incapacitate one, but it would’ve been a daring experience to try.
Their effectiveness depended entirely on their users, however. A Tilfish could probably be trusted to handle a standard issue rifle, but the chances that everything Frankie grabbed was that small were low. Some of them were as long as I was tall.
I didn’t trust the exterminators to hold their own, not just because of their lacking armaments, but because they were Feds. They might be able to stand the sight of humans without passing out, but they still had their “prey” mindset. It was the mindset they tried to force on to Leirn. The moment any hint of a predator revealed themselves, there was no guarantee they wouldn’t cower and run, or even faint. It was absolutely senseless.
And yet, they were the only thing to stop the Arxur from pushing their onslaught into the bunkers. It was… almost brave.
I pushed away the nagging thought and cast a glance out the shattered window, noting the buildings outside. “So how far out are we?”
Luke tapped a finger. “Dusty?”
“Shit, give me a minute. I’m just finishing up the message to Von… Looks like forty minutes, barring any more Arxur dropships.”
I thought for a moment. “So what’s the plan? The place is going to have grays around every corner. You even mentioned that Frankie saw one.”
“Get in and out as quick as we damn well can. I wish it were that simple, though,” Luke said.
“Before you ask, I’m already asking Frankie for more information.” Dusty said.
My human nodded. “Good. Fill me in as I drive.”
The wind whistled through the various holes in the windows as we drove. Getting outside of Tepisil was trivial compared to the first minutes of our windows getting decorated. It likely helped that we took a route that avoided any shelters by a wide margin, but we saw hardly any signs of their presence aside from the start of devastation behind us.
We were driving away from one flaming city to another. I remembered looking at the active night sky before I’d gone to sleep and wondering what was taking the Arxur so long to get to Tepsil, but in truth it had only been hours since their raid began. It left me wondering about the state of Dirlsil, how much damage they’ve done, how many lives were already gone.
Even now, the entrance to Bunker Four is probably already located and identified, with the others very likely soon to follow. And nothing is stopping them from using antimatter bombs on the even smaller towns, their twisted minds wouldn’t find use for them other than target practice and propaganda. In a twisted way, it’s a good thing we were left in this town.
I cast another longing glance out my cracked window as the ground beyond the road slowly transitioned into crop fields, away from Tepisil. Away from the defenseless bunker.
Sillis deserved to be under the UN’s merciful heel, not eviscerated by the Arxur. It wasn’t right.
I ignored the returning feeling of dread, the pit in my soul. Dusty had been right; it wouldn't do any good to wallow in myself. Helping Frankie was something to focus on, someone worth saving to our mutual benefit. Beyond that, it gave me another chance I didn’t deserve to finally do something that didn’t ruin someone’s life. It was better than just waiting around to die with the illusion of helping innocents huddled underground.
Another rumble of distant explosions rolled through the vehicle. As I studied the cracks in the window, I couldn’t help but feel like they were only a taste of what was to come.

Of course, thanks to SpacePaladin15 for the wonderful universe.

2024.04.30 04:10 Uber-Laoch-RSA Killed my first PC today

Fairly new to DM'ing, and the entire party is new to DnD, but the current campaign has been running for ~7 months now and has primarily been a party of 3. So for the past couple of sessions, the group has been hunting down the leader of a particularly dangerous group of bandits on behalf of a town that they have been working to essentially rebuild for pretty much the whole campaign so far.
They had succeeded in taking out one of the major camps that were in the area, and finding out that it was just one of multiple camps. Naturally they set off to get rid of these camps as well, only to discover that they have seemingly been packed up, and finding nothing but a single cannon ball left behind at the second camp.
Assuming the worst they race back to the town, managing to get there in time. There was some incidents on the way however which, without getting into too much detail, distracted them enough that they neglected to inform anyone about the imminent attack until it was too late.
The night before everything went down, there was a bit of a celebration as an NPC was recently unpetrified and wanted to share a dinner with the party. Our bard had a good few too many (as he does) and ended up going to bed in his birthday suit after several (failed) attempts at climbing a tree.
So comes the day of the incident, the party is awoken by several alarms going off as well as the distinct sound of combat, the two fighters rush to get their armour on and get ready, while our good bard, hungover as he is, very much struggles to wake up and has to be woken by his pet monkey, realising what is going on, he grabs his instruments and heads downstairs, neglecting to don his armour. Thankfully he is able to cast barkskin once per day on himself so it isn't the end of the world (yet)
Heading outside the party hears alarms coming from two separate areas, the main gate to the west, and another to the south. Now here comes the first of two big whoopsies they made. They split the party. The bard and the eldritch knight head to the south, and the bulwark warrior (Grim Hollow subclass, hella tanky) heads to the main gate. Both groups have a pretty difficult time, with the guards that were meant to help both groups getting wiped out completely. The fighters burn all their resources, and the bard only has a single inspiration left. Our tanky fighter finishes his fight with, quite literally, 1 hp and a dream. Only reason he survived is he rolled a nat 20 death save, and 2 nat 20's in a row after getting up.
The other fighter was largely but the bard who had to get a bit up close, was down to single digit hp. Unfortunately, despite an honestly unreasonable amount of successful concentration saves on the barkskin, it eventually dropped near the end of the fight. A pretty big problem, 2 PC's critically low, and next to no healing. Thankfully though they still have all their hit dice, as well as inspiring leader, so a nice short rest and they should have their resources, most of their health and even some temp hp, problem solved right?
Wrong.
Here comes the second major whoopsie. They decide not to short rest, and instead use the last 2 charges of a healers kit on the fighter and bard (they are now, entirely, out of healing). Instead, they head back to the centre of the town where the bandits have broken through from the north, and alongside the guard and the local mercenary guild and a long time friend NPC, fight the bandits, who have brought that cannon up and are very much using it.
Now there are a lot of bandits, and I mean A. LOT. of them. Under normal circumstances, they should be fine, but the state they are in, it's looking really bad. Come about the second round of combat, a chunk of the guards (more so militia than proper guards) have been taken out, leaving quite a gap between the bow-wielding marauders, and our poor, buck naked bard. More arrows than are quite franky acceptable come his way, most of which hit, leaving him down on the ground. Up comes his death saving throws, they are normally pretty lucky with them, so there is still hope.
Natural 1. Crap.
His best bet right now is to have someone try and stabilize him, and only the eldritch knight can really do it, but unfortunately he made the mistake of tunnel visioning that cannon a bit too much, and spent the turn taking it out. Bard's turn is coming up, he has inspiration, he fails the first save. Still a chance, one more chance.
He fails it again.
The rest of the party manages to take care of the marauders miraculously, and the bard is rushed to the town's cleric, who is a bit of a friend to the party. However, it takes much more than one minute to reach him, and despite his best efforts there is nothing he can do. He is gone. Laying there on the floor of the abbey, the cleric and eldritch knight kneel around his body, saying a few prayers over him.
Now, the final 3 marauders surrendered, having been clearly beaten, one of them is summarily executed on the spot out of anger, while the other 2 are, shall we say, threated with unspeakable levels of violence by our tanky fighter before they get dragged off.
The party's NPC friend and tank make their way to the abbey, where a few more prayers are spoken over his body before they carry him out the the graveyard and begin digging him a grave. While it is being dug, the tank fetches a few things from his room including the bard's pet monkey. Once digging is finished, his body is lain to rest alongside a bottle of the highest quality wine, his instruments, and a single silver coin. A few more final words are said, and final rites given by the cleric, before everyone except for our eldritch knight (who is by far the most caring character in the party). The day is not yet over for them, but they at least found enough time in the middle of the chaos to lay their friend to rest.
Sorry for the super long post, just really wanted to write this somewhere, thanks for reading.
Rest in peace Aralas, enjoy the great big tavern in the sky.

2024.04.28 23:02 toddkong7 A Review of Spy X Family [Ch96.5 & Ch97]

This is not a drill! We got a Henderson/Martha chapter boys! DON'T PANIC!
But for real, I say all the time that SxF checks every box for me as perfectly as any piece of entertainment--let alone anime/manga--can possilby do so. Though the only box that it didn't check that way for me was the romance box. I'm might have to rescind that statment going forward!
Ask and ye shall receive ig haha. Though I wanted it to be Loid/Yor stuff, I DEFINITELY won't complain about a twilight romance or reminiscence of old heartbreaks between the elderly. Especially if they are as sweet as the likes of Henderson and Martha~~
Also, I didn't have the time or energy to do a full review of the last short mission. So I will just briefly touch on it here. Regarding the last short mission:
  • I loved the fact that Anya chose her dress through the "Push Damain over the edge = Kill Damain = Dress to kill = Dress like Ha-ha" train of thought. Its so innocent and it shows how much she looks up to Yor =)
  • WISE budget is the real hero of this story, given how much Anya abuses it (whether intentionally or not).
  • I wanted to see Loid dance with Yor in an attempt to teach Anya by example...! Oh well. It might have been better this way, since I want Loid to live to see another day haha.
Also-also, not Martha being the source of Henderson's first "Eleganto!" MY HEART. SO FULL!
The blushing! The instinctual clapping! Oh MY! Also, I guess Henderson just lived his whole life without eye brows, huh lol?
Also-also-also, young Henderson had so much honor. He self-reported when he felt that he deserved a Bolt. Then realizing how corrupt faculty was, he resolved to end fist-fights and wars through the power of education. Based on that, I bet his opinion of Anya must have REALLY shot up for the better when she used Twilight's line of, "I want to create a world where children don't have to cry," against Billy Squire during the Red Circus arc.
Young Henry beggin for a Bolt.
Babe, wake up. New SxF meme template just dropped.
Also-also-also-also, Ah.
So Henderson danced with Martha not because they had danced before. But because they had NEVER danced before... That's so sweet and equally so sad... Like the gentlemen he is, he tried to make up for all the lost years... And from his statement at the beginning of the chapter, he still only views her as merely a friend (I assume that a man with such intergrity would not lie about such things, even to maintain an air of dignity)... The bittersweet angst is KILLING me! Damn you, Endo, you eleganto bastard, you!!
I say this as mostly a joke, but come on: What is it with all the men in Ostania and have an aversion to giving into love? Loid denying his feelings for Yor. Damian being a Tsundere towards Anya. Yuri not realizing that Chloe is RIGHT THERE. Donovan being estranged from his wife, Melinda. And now THIS? Eh tu, Henderson?? The only one being a man about this shit is Dominic, and he has the most high-maintanence girl out of all of them! Oh, and Frankie gets an honorable mention for at least trying. I guess Ostania just has too many Gigachad Sigmas, focusing on their own grindset...?
Its such a shame. Martha impacted Henry's life so much in regards to honor and elegance. And yet he never saw how much she loved him. I bet Martha joined the military just to help end the war faster for Henderson's sake. What a blind, eleganto fool he is...
At least they finally got to dance despite their history~~
Lastly, Martha kept the tradition of tea time! She became an imperial scholar, confirmed by her Harry Potter cloak at the end of the chapter. Which means she was able to get permission to keep tea time going. I bet she continued it alone due to the heartbreak of unrequited love...
But then, he returneth... Bro went from Henderson-senpai to Henderson-sensei real quick!
Buckle up folks. Seeing as they aren't togerther now, things are looking to get tragic... So maybe we actually should panic.
