Apologies for the rant but this bug has been the bane of my existence for several years now and there is simply no solution nor does it seem like there ever will be.
Every time I connect my airpods to my phone, they are in "follow iphone" mode. Essentially it makes it sound like the audio is playing in front of you rather than your ears. I hate this mode. I never use. I never want to use it.
To fix this. I have to go into settings and turn the mode on then off again (yes the mode is on even when the settings say otherwise. Gotta love when computers straight up lie...)
I have to do this every time I use my airpods with my phone.
I've contacted support (biggest waste of time in my life)
I took both my phone and pods to the apple store. Also a waste of time.
Yes I looked online first. The problem isn't solved. And there are many different threads covering this with no real solution or fix by Apple.

Resetting my phone did nothing, but I know damn well this is a software issue.
At this point I have simply given up. There is no permanent fix and Apple doesn't seem to have any intentions in fixing it despite the issue persisting for several years now.
At this point my next phone won't be from Apple. Seems the only solution for me is to get away from the software/hardware causing the problem in the first place. I'm done with this BS.

Hi guys, Im heading to download in the uk next month and one of the reasons I wanted to go was to see polyphia again as I loved seeing them last year. Just wondering how long their set lists have been at the festivals recently and what songs they’ve played as I can’t find it online anywhere. I’m aware it’s most likely going to be a watered down version compared to the set I saw early last year but was just looking for what to expect so I don’t feel as disappointed😂 I’ll still have a good time no matter what am excited for most of the other bands and it’ll be nice to spend Father’s Day weekend at the festival with him listening to a bunch of sick music we both love. Building a PC for strictly sim racing.
My desktop build I have a Gigabyte 650 aorus elite ax 1.2 with Vengeance 64gb CL30 C36-36-76 Did AMD Expo to 6000mhz and ran into issues. I've reset back to default 4800mhz
My goal is to be able to utilize 6000mhz I'm choosing to go G.skill for the sim build. With the same 650 aorus lineup just the ICE version. Will I run into the same issue ? Do I need 64gb to game and possibly stream ? Over all what is the opinion on the build. I plan to stream one day so i want to make sure the CPU can handle it so I need to upgrade to Ryzen 9 7950x3d? With more cores ?

Like many of us, thanks to the new Fallout TV show I was inspired to go back and revisit the games. I am currently enjoying a replay of New Vegas on my PS3. However today when I booted the system to play the game, it failed to recognize there was a disk in the device (despite everything being just fine on Friday when I last played, and my not touching the system since then).
Curious if this was just a problem with that one disk, I then put a few other games into the PS3 as a test. None of them - not Fallout 3 nor Portal 2 nor Final Fantasy XIII - would load. I then grabbed the nearest disk that wasn't a game - a DVD - to test it. It played fine. Surprised, I then tried a Bluray. That one did not work and the machine made the same noises it did when I tried to play the games.
Every time I google fixes, the responses I get are for a different version of the PS3 then the one I own. I have one with a manual top loading disk reader, not one with any sort of eject button.
Does anyone have any idea about what I can do to fix this and get back to the game I am in the middle of playing?

so about a year and a half ago my friend who i had been talking to a lot wanted to get into a qpr (queer platonic relationship) with me since they said they felt like an emotional attachment to me in a platonic way. i had no idea what that was when they first asked me out, so i agreed based on their explanation of what it was like. i also was pretty sure i was in the aromatic asexual spectrum, so i thought it would be nice.
the weird thing was even though i claimed to be acearo, i was still messing around on dating apps. and shortly after the qpr started, i was visiting my friend group in my hometown for a bit. we were discussing dating app stuff with our other friend, and i shared some of my own stories as we talked. i mentioned after my stories that i wasn't using dating apps anymore and i only had one friend making app/quote unquote "dating app" left on my phone. my partnefriend got concerned and asked me what it was. i explained to them it was an app i told them about before. but the way they got defensive about it made me realize that they probably considered me being on dating apps of any sort as cheating.
so, i guess i just didn't know what i was getting into? i thought it was like just a stronger friendship or like best friends plus or something lol,, but my friend/partner seemed to want to do more romantic stuff like use pet names and go on dates and stuff. i said i was okay with that, but i didn't really want to do cuddling with them which i told them when we were establishing rules or boundaries or whatever. they were fine with it, but idk the pet names felt unnatural to me and "dates" felt like just hanging out with a good friend. they send couple memes to me saying it's us, but half the time i don't really agree. sometimes it feels like they think of me as their idea of their 'perfect version' of me or something, and not actually me. i do care about this person, but i cannot see myself doing anything remotely romantic with them, the more i inch towards it. after a few months of trying this, i decided i didn't like this, but i didn't know how to bring it up and now we're nearing one and a half years..
i think i went along with it because i cared about this person. and when we hung out together, it felt like just being with a friend and someone i really cared about. i do care about them a lot, and i very much enjoy their company. we've known each other for forever, and our friendship has gone through quite a lot of ups and downs. and recently i keep thinking of the downs and how we'd get into fights and annoy the shit out of each other. we were celebrating our anniversary with them coming up to where i live, and we had a disagreement at a restaurant that reminded me of those times when we were younger teens. and more recently i just feel hurt with some of the stuff they do/say. maybe remembering our past is making me more sensitive to the negatives, idk atp.
i think i am a person who will easy go along with something, and my friend/partner claimed a few things about me that i never even thought of for myself. i believed when they explained why they thought it. they told me i was autistic and deserved to be on disability because i was "disabled". i am able bodied,, just have some mental illness. when i told my dad, he got super mad because before i started this relationship, i was really good about school and making good grades. i dropped out my classes for a bit after the relationship started. my friend/partner has never showed much interest in school beyond high school and they didn't want a job until more recently when they realized yt and their small business weren't getting much money. i stopped school for a couple semesters just to work, but i plan to go back in next semester– when i told them, they said they were worried it would go bad for me again... and i guess i feel like the relationship is stopping me from doing better in school.
i don't want to say they're a bad influence, i think i am more just easily influenced or tend to mimic people around me... my partnefriend should live their life they want, but i think i also might be mimicking what they do kinda and that might be why my family does think they're a bad influence. and i feel more disconnected to my family when i started talking to my friend/partner more. they told me my dad is a manipulative person, but i don't even want to think that... sometimes i wonder if they said it because they consider their own parents (especially dad) manipulative. and i have met their family, they do seem p shitty even to me, but i don't see my own parents like that... my dad is doing his best i think, and he's good enough at least,, my friend/partner also claimed stuff like gender, gender preference, political views of mine when i never really told them that? most was similar to their own identity, and i honestly don't know what my gendegender preference/political views are specifically, ive never firmly said i was a specific label of any of those, but it still felt weird that they were putting me in this box when i felt uncertain about those things.
i also don't know if i'm really aroace. like i see happy romantic couples, and still want something like that. and i don't know if i can go and find someone like that if im platonically partnered with someone. and at this point i feel like "i didn't know what i was getting into" doesn't work if i try to just end things now,, i also am afraid it'll just go down terribly, and i'll never even get to be acquaintances with this person again. and i feel like our mutual friends will all side with them and i will just lose those friends forever as well. i'll feel even shittier if i try romance and see that i really am aroace and then id just be forever alone with no friends.
my partnefriend also bought tickets to go to a convention in a few months and id feel even shittier to end things poorly before that since they really wanted to go there and cosplay with me. the convention famously doesn't give any refunds too so they can't even get their money back for the tickets.
we're even planning to move out together in 2025, but i don't know if it's still something i want. we've been planning since like 2022 to move out together (it started out as just friends before they asked to be partners) but we keep having to push it further down with financial issues and such, so i don't even know if 2025 is a good year either. i am going through the process of switching my college major, and i feel like that's all ill really have time for soon especially when i start working alongside studying too. (im quite literally switching from an arts related major to something stem related lol.) i want to get my bachelor's and establish a good paying job before moving out. (and probably also work towards my master's) i don't even know if my friend/partner has anything going on in their future career and stuff, and i do not want to have to be financially responsible for them at all. i barely like when they ask me for money. they usually pay me back or pay for some of my stuff in return so it probably balances out, id just rather we each pay for our own things i guess,, or maybe im just being a prick abt it lol.

The Short(er) Version
Mom (86), was hospitalized briefly last Christmas due to a freak medication reaction and was transferred to a nursing home to recover. Mom can’t walk unassisted (but can stand on her own), and is healthy enough now to come home, but Dad (84, also healthy) won’t let her and refuses to assist in what minimal care she’ll require there should she return. The nursing home won’t release her under her own recognizance unless she can demonstrate independence in her own care.
Though physically well, Mom, who for decades before rarely spent 48 hours away from home without a family member with her, is getting very depressed and is breaking down psychologically due to this development. She could easily last physically in that facility for years but her mind will crack at this rate
If she were home, she would only need a CNA to change her diaper three times a day, to sponge-bathe her, to prepare food for her, and to help with wheelchair transfers in and out of bed. They can afford to pay for it. Dad, who spends 95% of the day at home anyways, doesn’t want “a parade of strangers” coming into the house daily to help Mom. They have no major marriage issues I’m aware of and Dad has no terminal medical issues that might explain his decision to keep her in there indefinitely.
She’s used to complying to his wishes (but up until now they’ve never been pointed against her). She is very meek, is afraid of him being angry to her, and still greets him at visits like a puppy being happy to see its abusive owner. When she tells him she wants to go home or that she is in psychological pain as a result of being there, he tells her to stop saying that or he’ll stop visiting.
She wants out and has secretly given me (the son) permission to explore her legal options on the down-low. She doesn’t want divorce and the nearest relative who might take her in lives in another state.
Does she have a legal remedy, please ?
The Long Version

(This is to a woman who was been a stay-at-home Mom for several decades, has anxiety issues for which she takes meds, and has never spent more than 48 hours anywhere without a family member nearby.)
My dad, who is in great shape, has enough money to pay to keep her there indefinitely if Medicare ceases coverage. The facility won’t release Mom under her own recognizance because she cannot demonstrate that she can take care of herself (bathroom) unassisted and is in a wheelchair. We’ve seen that she can stand unassisted but the wheelchair transfer to her bed, toilet, car, etc. requires help.
My mom is physically well, but the stress of being in that place these last few months is breaking her psychologically. When she tells my dad that she’s in pain or wants to go home he shuts her down without explanation. She is very much used to him calling the shots in the marriage (63 years this July).
I’ve done a ton of homework on the matter and have shared with Dad that Mom’s needs can easily be met with some part-time home care from an CNA/LVN. She just needs someone to change her diapers, sponge bathe her, and give her her meds.
Dad shoots down every one of my suggestions on how to bring Mom home. Every concern he has expressed about bringing her home is either easily addressable or will require some flexibility on his part. For example, he claims that he’ll need to spend thousands to renovate the bathroom for a wheelchair user; I counter with the fact that as long as Mom requires only diaper changes and sponge baths from a CNA, she need never step foot in a bathroom again. Dad doesn’t want a parade of strangers in the house every day to car for Mom; I counter with the fact that he has a weekly cleaning service come to the house and it doesn’t seem to be a problem for them. I add on that should anything happen to him at home—where he now lives alone—at least Mom will be there to call 911 (as opposed to us finding him days after the fact).
Outside of him having some terminal disease that he’s not telling people about, there absolutely no reason why Mom can’t come home, and I’m now stating to wonder if a lawyer needs to be involved. He can’t just deny her the ability to return home and refuse to participate in her care there as long as Mom’s needs can be easily be accommodated, can he? (He won’t have to lift a finger except let home care help in and out the door.) He just needs to get over having strangers in the house.
Is he breaking the law and committing some kind of psychological abuse or neglect, or is he just a complete asshole? Am I being the asshole for trying to stand up for her? She won’t stand up for herself and I’ve told her that as long as she complies with Dad’s wishes, he has no reason to listen to her needs. She rarely gets any other visitors, and she greets Dad when he visits like the way an puppy still greets its abusive owner because it sees no one else all day.

So I am struggling with these guys. Yhey are Hugo and Hermoine Honeydew that come from the chapel set. Now, I was sure that they are white bunnies, but photos online almost seem like they are Periwinkle! Depending on the light, even mine looks Periwinkle sometimes. So am I losing it and these are actually not white bunnies at all? Where there more than one version of these? Also, how the heck do I cagegorize them? They have pink inside the ears, so they are not Snow-warrens. But we have the Snow rabbits now, so do they fit into that family? Same pink noses, pink inner ears? Although they seem to lose a bit of their bright whiteness over time, they still seem close in colour to my Snowbunny bride. So my big concern, is where to place them if I want to add them to a visual list by markings to id? Make a separate page just for them and maybe the snowbunny bride or sort them in with the Snow family? It is driving me crazy and I know I am over thinking this, but still - tbis puzzle is now keeping me from making any progress.

Lenovo Yoga 7 ARB14 user here. As per many recommendations, I upgraded the shitty internal Mediatek WiFi card to what's supposed to be a more capable Intel AX210. Unfortunately, so far that seems to have created more issues than it's solved.
Whilst WiFi is stable, Bluetooth seems to slow down / hang every now and then. I'm talking brief intermittent bouts of mouse lag every couple of minutes, or the keyboard hanging on one kkkkkkkkkkey <-- like that basically. Music seems to stream without any issues.
Drivers have been upgraded to the latest version. Anyone have any ideas / experience?

I expected it to take a while to adapt after 10yrs with a wingman, but despite all the "improved" features, the tool itself just didn't settle in.
Right from the start, it looks like an el cheapo with the chunky scales and knurled pivot screws as opposed to the sleek stainless and beefy pivot screws of say the wave plus.
Couple of other fails that added up to an overall fail were the failure of the tool to be open to straight (almost) with the pliers still tucked in when using the screw driver. I never even paid attention to that with the wingman until I went to use the charge in the same way and it either was kinked or the pliers hung out. And, the other is the belt clip hanging on the wrong end of the tool, allowing it to open up in your pocket.
Oh, and I couldn't open it with one hand like I can with my wingman. Thought I might eventually get the hang of it, but never could. That was a bummer, too.
Oddly, even though the wave plus seems like a lesser version of the same config, it does open up nearly straight with the screwdriver deployed, but still hangs from the wrong end so it can open up in your pocket. Guess it's the chunky scales on the charge that prevent fully unfolded with pliers still stowed.
Wish I'd taken pics to post or made a quick video for others, but didn't think of it in time. Maybe a discussion here will help someone else with their decision. My local Sportsman's Warehouse has a pretty good selection at their knife counter so you can really handle them for a minute to get a better idea of in-the-hand tool deployment and such, so they might be a good place for those still mulling it over to get their hands on one.
As an aside, has anyone come up with a belt clip mod to hang the wave from the plier end so it doesn't open in the pocket? Seems like it might be tricky with that end being where the blades pivot.

It literally wouldn't hurt to release it 3 months later. Couldn't set an alarm, found a workaround online saying I can change it on the desktop app. Yesterday, I managed to do it.
Today, suddenly I need to set time for the Sonos. WHAT? So I clicked it on the Mac and it said I needed to change it in the app. EXCEPT THERE'S NO OPTION TO CHANGE THE TIME IN THE NEW APP. Besides, it should just work. Setting time on a device is a relic from the 90s.

One thing is when you release a buggy app and fix it up on the go. The other is when you completely fuck it up removing 70% of the features while forcing the update. Go suck on your moms tits.
I bought this shit a while ago. I didn't know what the app looked like prior to purchase but I downloaded it started discovering the features. It wasn't a great app either but I was still pleasantly suprised by the features (one of them is the fucking alarm clock where I could just wake up to nice music from my speakers).
Just as I was about to go here on this subreddit you drop this shitty ass update. Why? WHY? How are you so impatient to release an alpha version of the app to the public when it could have been fully functional in 3 months? This shit doesn't even compliant (for example people with disabilities). You're literally breaking the law.

I upgraded from my 2016 15" MacBook Pro to a 2023 16" with an M3 Pro, and I've been frankly disappointed by the number of hang-ups with it. I am getting back into audio engineering/production after a few years of being away, and I spend far more time chasing solutions to computer problems than I do actually using the creative tools that should be at my disposal.
First, the stats:

• 16-inch, November 2023
• 18GB unified memory
• 512GB SSD
• Currently on Sonoma 14.1.
  • I know there are upgrades available but they are known to have problems with software I rely on, especially from Avid, Native Instruments, Waves, and Pace/iLok

A quick summary of the issues I've had:

• Video resolution/refresh. Even using *only* the dedicated/built-in HDMI output to a 4k60Hz monitor, I cannot get any external monitors to go beyond 30Hz refresh (even when downscaling to 1080p). I have read from other users with this issue and they note that it appears to be a software limitation, as running Windows via Bootcamp allows for 60Hz no-problem
• Laggy response from keyboard/mouse - USB wired, USB wireless, and even Apple's Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse will often become extremely slow to respond, and mouse cursor position is jumpy/slow to refresh
• Frequent software crashes, especially Logic Pro X
  • I use Logic Pro X with a moderate number of 3rd party plugins. Many of the crashing issues early-on were due to me having older versions of plugins that did not function well with Apple Silicon. Though plugin-related crashes have lessened over time as I have upgraded problematic ones, there are still times when opening a relatively empty project will give Logic the rainbow-wheel, and I will need to restart the computer in order to stop it from happening.
• Permissions pains
  • When installing/running software, I will often need to go into security settings and enable extensions from (insert software developer here) *multiple times* in order for the software to work correctly.
• Overall slow performance
  • Under relatively light workloads (plugin-lite Logic session or a single Native Instruments app), and with activity monitor not showing any clear signs of particular apps over-using resources, my computer will suddenly slow down, with all apps/processes hanging for 5-10 seconds, and then start working again, only for it to repeat a few minutes later.

Sorry for the rambling post. I had been trying to tackle these issues one-by-one but that has turned into a game of whack-a-mole as of late, and it's slowing down my ability to work. Are there any issues with this range of MBP's that have been unnecessarily hurting performance? Are there any settings/permissions that I can/should change to avoid the problems I've been having? Seriously considering trading this thing in for a Mac Mini or Mac Studio, as I am mostly using it in a single location (portability is less-and-less important over time).
