Hello!
I intend to program cryptosystems in the future for production environments. I have noticed production-ready code is written in machine language to ensure security guarantees are not destroyed by the compiler. I am also interested in learning assembly language for reverse engineering, malware analysis, and other applications in cybersecurity.
What books would you recommend in 2024?

These are the steps I followed to install the program

1. Download and install Python (I am sure I have activated the add python to path option)
2. Download and install Git
3. Download and install stable diffusion through CMD (this is the Github link: https://github.com/AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui )

but when I try running webui-user.bat, I get the following error:

Solution methods that I tried but did not work

01.- I tried to edit the code in the webui-user.bat file to:

02.- I also tried the following method but it didn't work:

• Go to your Stablediffusion folder
• Delete the "VENV" folder
• Start "webui-user.bat"
• it will re-install the VENV folder (this will take a few minutes)
• WebUI will crash
• Close Webui
• now go to VENV folder > scripts
• click folder path at the top
• type CMD to open command window
• type: pip install fastapi==0.90.1
• type: python.exe -m pip install --upgrade pip

I'm a 22m united statesian math student from the midwest. At some point, I realized that math is actually (secretly) a humanity, so my closest friends have been less engineer types and more artists, historians, college philosophers, and people with a lot of empathy.
Normally, I can just hang out with my film roommates or weird people at the library, but I've got flipped seasonal depression where the loneliest time for me is summer, so this is my annual post looking for online friends to chat with.
I'm looking for people that are cool (REQUIRED), academic (ish), and more than anything curious in seeing just how far their passions go. There's way more meaning in being brave with what you do than in being smart.

Some passions of mine:

math - I'm finally doing the trifecta of undergrad classes my old math-ish degree deprived me of: real analysis, number theory, and topology. Most of my thinking energy the past year has been applied to recursive functions, data structures, and border math/cs topics I'm so sick of at this point. I can't wait to be writing proof by contradictions again for homework. My favorite "sup" is definitely the great supremum.
reading - my summer list: Stella Maris (the McCarthy epic), Permanent Record (Snowden book), Wolf Hall (tudor-core), and Traitor to His Class (bio on the coolest Roosevelt). I mostly read classic literature and history + mythology books. I'm gifting Kafka on the Shore by Murakami to my English teacher friend as it left a real mark on me when I read it last year. Also with everything going on in Palestine and the nearby protests, Chomsky and Orwell essays are so clarifying.
linux/code - I know I dissed it above, but there's definitely a before/after FOSS in my life where you discover just how composable everything is with pipes and streams. I run unix with vim, emacs, dmenu and all the rest. I like programming in golang and lisp and wanna learn haskell. LaTeX equations are also very beautiful.
history - I visited Vienna a few weeks back and saw a cool Marshal Joseph Radetzky statue. It was interesting putting myself in the mind of those 1848 Viennese students and their revolution crushed by the state power of an eighty-year-old catholic Joe... Anyway, reading about the imperial krauts is neat. Knowing about the past makes travel, talking to geriatrics, and old coins way more fun, so I've always appreciated political, cultural, and religious history.

Littler things I like:

• Rock N Roll (simon and garfunkel, fleet foxes, björk, radiohead, elliott smith, brian eno)
• Singing beatles karaoke at open mics
• Emailing random authors at 2 a.m.
• Photography
• Talking to goofy kids, old people with endangered idioms, foreigners in their own language, anyone not cowed into being boring

That's enough color about me. I wanna hear about you now!
My ideal penpal is someone that cares very deeply about ideas as well as people. If you wanna leave me swooning, send a bandcamp if you're a rockstar or a git repo if you're a hacker or anything cool you wanna show off in your domain.

TL; DR: I asked a coworker for feedback on the code I wrote for a specific deliverable. He proceeded to instead complete the work/project from scratch on his own and share it with me. Now it feels weird to even proceed myself.
I’m in a bit of a conundrum. I wrote a program using some internal work templates and through reading a bunch of internal documentation. Program works as intended but it’s not as sophisticated as it would be if someone with actual experience and knowledge can do it. I’m self-teaching and trying to grow this skills. I asked a coworker of mine for harsh feedback (this helps me learn on what to do better and improve my skills). Coworker proceeded to instead do the whole project from scratch themselves, send me that code and gave me feedback on PM stuff (not related to the actual code I wrote).
Now I’m incredibly conflicted because it feels like he did the project for me. His version is more sophisticated. Probably even works better. I told him to take the project, since now anything I write to implement what he did would feel like plagiarizing. Especially since he didn’t walk me through what he did. As opposed to using a template and modifying it, I’m now essentially having to copy what he did since I would have to rework my own code almost from scratch and the code he wrote is specific to my use case (not just based on at least a different scenario).
He said he can own implementation and I can be the PM. I rather just not do the project at all than be a PM. The goal for this was for me to learn this skill, deliver, and execute. Instead now it feels like I either ignore what he did, submit a subpar product, or be pushed out of my own project and this guy gets credit for doing the bulk of the actual coding while I’m stuck babysitting deadlines.
When I told him I’m not interested in PM work he said he can mentor me to fully implement what he wrote into production but…why? The goal was for me to put into production the product I built.
What do I do? My manager isn’t happy that I want to hand off the project, but they are also not telling me one way or the other. They are not even pushing back on handing off the document, just disappointed this is how it worked out.

Hi! I can't seem to get rid of this error code:

I am using an iOS simulator, does this mean I need to pay the 99USD for the apple development program?

I'm using the Steam Valheim Dedicated Server, and before update worked just fine. The world I'm trying to use on the server works just fine with Ashlands, but when trying to utilize the server I just get this in the Command Window (scroll all the way down once you've read a dozen or so shader warnings). I truly have no idea what to make of this, I don't know anything about coding. I figured out just enough to get the server running in the first place. No mods.

I am using an iOS simulator, does this mean I need to pay the 99USD for the apple development program?

I started last November an internship in a Big4 consulting company as a Data Scientist, while being in the last semester of my masters program. I had finished with all of the coursed and have only my thesis to do. My thesis and my job aren't connected somehow and the topic of my thesis (Computer Vision) is not relevant with what i am doing at my job.
Despite my intern level, the amount of work that i had to do was similar to other junior-mid colleagues and in the last two months of my internship i was left alone to manage the project. Safe to say that my job didn't leave me any time or energy to study for my thesis and it is left very behind.
However, i really want to finish my master's degree and do something good with my thesis so i took the decision to quit my job. My managers however think that this is a really bad idea and keep telling me that i have potential in the company. They offered me a raise and a permanent position in the company (a junior position), however HR doesn't want to hire someone with pending academic tasks and the offer comes with the condition that i will finish my thesis in the next 3 months and some extra days in the office instead of my mostly remote position now.
Do you thinks this is something doable with a strict schedule or should i stick to my original plan and quit?

He's coming. The ensuing panic spread like a virus infecting all present with symptoms of looming dread. Officers worked steadfast to prepare also taking what time remained to train the few combat hardened civilians whom had fled to the station earlier. If only they knew. This demon that presented itself as a man had led a string of senseless massacres across the country. Only recently had it begun to prioritize police stations and army bases as a means of breaking the will of civilians who knew they would be next. Officers from several counties across the states were transferred here for this last stand. This Genocide must not continue. Gracia checked her pistol. Some 20 bullets remained. "I can do this", she thought, "I have to". She had dealt with similar cases before. Some poor soul is overtaken by some inextricably evil force and makes it their life's work to propagate death. Gracia had killed quite a few already. Live arrests weren't always possible. Beyond saving, careful interrogations of the scarce live catches yielded a startling connection. These killers all alluded to a well of overwhelming hatred and despair that consumed them after making eye contact with...Pale, black eyed entities. Some type of demon? Ghost maybe? Bang! something slams into the front door. Everyone freezes. Officer Tatum edges slowly to it, shockgun in hand. If Genocide was here, Tatum could stun him and duck for cover leaving the station free to light him up like a Christmas tree. That was the plan they came up with. He got closer to the glass door and peered outside. He was met with hate filled bloodshot eyes framed by an unkempt beard and wild straggly hair. Tatum felt some relief. He knew the man outside. It was Jim Jimenez. Jim was a former drug dealer turned informant. He was found out and had to flee from his old life. He became homeless, hiding in plane sight. This allowed him safety at the cost of his mental health. Tatum knew the man, but those eyes were not his. Tatum blinked and saw that the look of malice had vanished. Jim beckoned him to come closer. Tatum leaned in and Jim whispered, "Tell them. Tell them that Genocide is coming closer." The following events were a blur. Jim had concealed the knife he was stabbed with. He stabbed Tatum 4 times in the chest and wrestled his shockgun away. Using Tatum as a shield, Jim engaged everyone in the lobby. Jim wasn't himself. He was stronger. He was faster. He was tactical. He would stun an officer in place only to stab them and use their as a body shield. No one could get a clear shot without hitting a colleague. Gracia watched the scene unfold. In minutes Jim had acquired a magnum from the holster of one of his victims. In seconds 3 officers had their heads exploded. The magnum rounds coated the walls red with those they hit and stained the clothes of those they missed. Gracia felt fear rising in her chest. She calmed herself and tried to think. Evans shouted firing 2 quick shots from his gun before ducking back down. Lary lost hold of his lighter and it clattered on the ground." Crap." He reached for it and looked in the corner of the room. Gracia painstakingly inched her way into Jim's blind spot. She was roughly 6 feet away from him. Flanking him seemed like a brilliant idea but waiting idly by for the right moment as the people around her died filled her with anger. Worse still, she had to steal a blood soaked shirt from one of the deceased officers to keep up the facade. Inching ever so steadily she mad it within 3 feet of Jim. She reached behind her belt and unclipped a pair of handcuffs. Screams could be heard as more people were hit. Gracia couldn't wait any longer. Fluidly she got to her feet and rushed Jim. She kicked the back of his knee causing him to stumble as she put the handcuffs on him. Figuratively. The handcuffs were around Jim's neck. She yanked him back causing his gun to drop. "You don't know what you're doing." Jim spat. "We all need to accept it. The end of days is upon us. Death rides his horse through these forsaken lands. We must serve or be sacrificed in turn. Accept it!"He elbowed Gracia in the ribs causing her to let go. He spun around and lunged at her. She landed on her back, Jim steadily choking her. Gracia thought fast. She couldn't struggle. Jim was too strong. She delivered a precise chop to the center of Jim's neck which was exposed. Jim lurched back to catch his breath. A clean shot. A bullet pierced through Jim's back. I started last November an internship in a Big4 consulting company as a Data Scientist, while being in the last semester of my masters program. I had finished with all of the coursed and have only my thesis to do. My thesis and my job aren't connected somehow and the topic of my thesis (Computer Vision) is not relevant with what i am doing at my job.
Despite my intern level, the amount of work that i had to do was similar to other junior-mid colleagues and in the last two months of my internship i was left alone to manage the project. Safe to say that my job didn't leave me any time or energy to study for my thesis and it is left very behind.
However, i really want to finish my master's degree and do something good with my thesis so i took the decision to quit my job. My managers however think that this is a really bad idea and keep telling me that i have potential in the company. They offered me a raise and a permanent position in the company (a junior position), however HR doesn't want to hire someone with pending academic tasks and the offer comes with the condition that i will finish my thesis in the next 3 months and some extra days in the office instead of my mostly remote position now.
Do you thinks this is something doable with a strict schedule or should i stick to my original plan and quit? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Didn’t expect the post to get that many responses so let me give you a little backstory and hopefully yall can know where I’m coming from.
We(group members) pretty much have to come up with a shitty barely functional user interface that highlights exactly what we’re intending(we do not plan on adding to it in the future) so I decided to watch a few videos on html and css and attempt to actually do the interface by myself and that’s how I got here. I would appreciate any suggestions that don’t include having to actually code(JavaScript etc) as we haven’t even programmed started programming yet apparently it’s only 2nd semester.
ISSUES I AM FACING:
Excessive foreskin, I tried the 100% height and width but together with the properties I used it just flips the page upside down
The input search bar I place is somehow not receiving any input( I don’t actually mean it needs to actually “receive” input all I want is for you to be able to type in it and nothing happens when you click enter)
please take into account the properties I used(I understand they’re really bad but it’s too late for that as I have to submit Thursday)

Somebody please help!!! I have only been using Quick books for the past month to bill clients for a smaller accounting firm that I work for.
At first glance, every looks great in quick books and everything is working. But then, ACH Payments started "declining" due to either fraud protection or a invalid bank accounts. Neither of these are true. I looked on the Quick books help page and nothing is helping to resolve this issue. There is no error code for these failed transactions. This problem started in Oct 2023 before I was hired and some clients haven't been able to pay since then due to this issue. To put this in perspective, these clients have been billed the same way for years using ACH through Quick books. Has anyone else has this issue?
There is also another issue now that just started. For the past few days, when I open invoices, an OLD templet is being used and I am not able to switch it over to the newest templet. I have never worked with this older user interface and did not change the settings for the program to switch templets.
Here's the real issue with the templet. since the templet has changed, transactions are being sent to my email as "cancelled" due to an issue with the clients bank account. However, the invoice is still marked as paid in QuickBooks and I am unable to delete this payment or edit it in any way. So I went to undeposited transactions and I am not able to delete it from undeposited transactions. AND on top of that these payments still show in Quick books deposited list. I am at a loss. I followed the steps on Quick books help page to delete the undeposited payment but get an error message that won't let me do that step until I remove it from deposited. I looked at the deposited page but cannot change edit anything. Anybody got an Ideas?
I need ACH to function properly, Payments that "cancelled" to be removed, and the old templet needs to go.
