NOAA & Air Force Reserve ‘Hurricane Hunters’ visit Norfolk May 8, public and media invited for tours. to learn about hurricane preparedness
NOAA & Air Force Reserve ‘Hurricane Hunters’ to visit the East Coast
Media and public invited to tour U.S. Air Force Reserve ‘Hurricane Hunter’ aircraft
With the 2024 hurricane season fast approaching, NOAA and the U.S. Air Force Reserve will host a series of events to help the communities along the East Coast prepare. Media and the public can meet NOAA hurricane experts, scientists and crew members and get a close-up look at some of the aircraft that help forecasters keep us safe — NOAA’s WP-3D and the U.S. Air Force Reserve WC-130J “Hurricane Hunter.” Michael Brennan, director of NOAA’s National Hurricane Center (NHC), along with several hurricane specialists, will visit with residents and discuss hurricane preparedness, resilience and how they can become “weather-ready.”
The Atlantic basin hurricane season begins June 1. During hurricanes, military aircrews fly state-of-the-art WC-130J aircraft directly into the core of the storm to gather critical data for forecasting a hurricane’s intensity and landfall. The data are sent in real-time via satellite from the aircraft directly to NHC for analysis and use by hurricane forecasters. The NOAA WP-3D Orion turboprop aircraft is used primarily by scientists on research missions to study various elements of a hurricane, flying through the eye of the storm several times each flight.
Wednesday, May 8, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Norfolk International Airport (public and media invited)
The following experts will be on the tour and available for media interviews:
NOAA:
  • Michael Brennan, director, NHC
  • Robbie Berg, warning coordination meteorologist, NHC
  • Cody Fritz, storm surge specialist, NHC
  • David Novak, director, NOAA’s Weather Prediction Center (for Albany, Norfolk, and Charleston)
  • Alex Lamers, warning coordination meteorologist, NOAA’s Weather Prediction Center
FEMA:
  • Portland: Lori Ehrlich, FEMA region 1 regional administrator
  • Albany: Anne Bink, associate administrator of the office of response & recovery
  • Norfolk: MaryAnn Tierney, FEMA region 3 regional administrator
  • Charleston: Robert Samaan, FEMA Region 4 regional administrator
  • Sanford: Robert Samaan, FEMA Region 4 regional administrator
  • Sherman Gillums, director of the office of disability integration & coordination
Reporters who wish to reserve an interview with any of the NOAA experts may contact Maria Torres at [maria.torres@noaa.gov](mailto:maria.torres@noaa.gov) or 305-433-1933 and for the FEMA experts please contact [fema-news-desk@fema.dhs.gov](mailto:fema-news-desk@fema.dhs.gov).

2024.05.03 04:01 katanddog 2,000 Names (and their meanings) For Your Baby Boy found from a Vintage Mennen Company Booklet

My mom passed along this booklet that belonged to my grandmother when we were expecting. Figured I would share it here before discarding it. The Girl Name list is already posted 😊 Enjoy!
WHAT'S IN A NAME
Don't let the meanings concern you. Think instead of how the name will fit the child, when the child is grown, or known. Choose the name with care. It's very important to your baby-all through life. Here are some guides: - Say each name aloud, along with your own family name, to check rhythm and sound. - Use soft first names with sharp-sounding family names. - Use multi-syllable first names with short family names. - Avoid using a first name that ends with the same sound that starts the last name, such as "Jane Nevins." - Avoid "famous combinations" such as "Abraham" and "Lincoln." - Watch out for initials that spell out familiar letters, like “S. O. S”

2024.05.01 17:04 Timmy_The_Techpriest Wide Blue Skies (31, Operation Long Fork 4/4)

Part 31, the Eagle-Eye PoV. A quick glimpse into the daily life of the galaxies most stressed out AWACS. I upload Wednesdays, at 4PM to 5PM British Summer Time. Credit to u/SpacePaladin15 for creating the universe of NoP, and the amazing u/ShermanTheMajor for proofreading! And thank you guys for reading. Enjoy the chapter!
“But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.”
Memory Transcript Subject: Major Sullivan Taevas, SC AWACS Crew Commander, Callsign ‘Eagle-Eye’
Date [Standardised Human Time]: July 7th 2168
I checked over the consoles one more time, as Pegasus entered the AO. Radar is working, comms are functional, camera is linked up… Perfect.
“You’ve entered the area of operation” I called out, before spotting the transport plane we were escorting. I marked it as friendly, while keeping an eye out for approaching hostiles. I also noticed the blips of nearby friendly decoy squadrons, already engaging a few enemy interceptors. “Pegasus, approach that aircraft and form up for escort”
“Uh, sir? We’re receiving a hail” My Kolshian assistant said. “From the transport craft”
“Right, patch it through” I replied, as Virpal tapped a few buttons on his console.
“Attention Coalition aircraft!” The pilot of the transport called out. “This is flight Two-Two-Seven Captain Alistik speaking. Do you read us? Please respond!”
“This is AWACS Eagle-Eye speaking” I replied. “We read you loud and clear. We’ll be your escort until you enter Coalition territory”
“Copy that. Do we really only have one escort, or is a full squadron inbound?”
“It’s just one fighter, but he’s a good one” I reassured the captain. “You’re in safe hands”
“You don’t mean…” The noise of jet engines came through the comms, as Pegasus passed by the transport. “Wait, is that the prey-nosed fighter!?”
“Affirmative” I then spotted three interceptors slipping past the friendly decoys and towards our target. Looks like Tv-Ones… I leaned forwards slightly, placing my hands on the console as I spoke into my headset. “Pegasus Three, bandits inbound. Tv-Ones, bearing zero-one-zero, altitude four-thousand. Engage, show our friends what you can do!” And with the push of a button, I sent him the targeting data.
I reached over to an open packet of chips, cramming one into my mouth as Pegasus accelerated towards the enemy. I grabbed the bag and waved it at Virpal “Want one?”
“Nah, I’m good” He replied, watching the cameras. I leaned back slightly as Pegasus engaged, firing a missile at one and turning towards another. The first one turned, narrowly evading a missile.
“One of the predators is trying to stop us! Kill it!” They yelled, as Pegasus began firing his guns into the engines of the aircraft he was currently flying behind. It tried to turn away, but was shredded by gunfire, causing it to plummet. “Shit, casualty! This one’s good! WAIT, IT’S THE FALSE PREY!”
Pegasus then turned and fired two missiles into the back of another, shattering its thrusters and tearing off one of its wings as he sharply pulled away, turning to engage the last enemy fighter. It tried to shake him off, turning down and flying close to the ground to dissuade him from pursuing, but he raked the top of the aircraft with his guns. Its engines spluttered, and the pilot ejected before the plane fell into the rocks.
“Founders, that’s scary…” Captain Alistik muttered. “They live up to the stories. Thanks for taking out those fighters”
I turned to my radar, spotting another enemy squadron approaching, and noticing one of the friendly decoy squadrons flickering off of radar. “Hold that thought, more fighters inbound, more Tv-Ones, same bearing as before, altitude three-thousand. One of the decoys is down. Pegasus, engage, and be careful” I’ve got a bad feeling about this.
“I’ll pray for your success” The Captain called out, before a second voice briefly flickered through his radio.
“Hey! Put that thing-” A very bad feeling.
“Virpal” I looked to the Kolshian at my side. “Keep an eye on the transport, would ya?”
“Oh, of course sir!” He responded with a mock salute, causing me to chuckle.
“Good man!”
I leaned in as Pegasus approached the second group of enemy fighters, sending a wave of multilock missiles towards them. I watched them scramble to evade, one failing to turn in time and spiralling to the ground as he moved to chase another enemy. He fired a missile at them, but they deployed countermeasures, forcing the missile wide. Pegasus remained on their tail however, taking potshots with his gun and firing a missile, which struck their engine. “I’M HIT! EJECTING!”
The final fighter had snuck up behind Pegasus, firing a missile towards him, but he accelerated and pulled up hard, causing it to miss by a narrow margin. “C’mere ya slippery pred!” They called out, continuing their chase as Pegasus continued his tight turn. He then rapidly slowed down, causing his opponent to fly past him, which he immediately used to his advantage, getting behind the rebel pilot and sending two missiles into their craft at close range, blasting their vehicle apart.
“All bandits down” I called out. “Flight Two-Two-Seven, status report. How’re you hanging in there?”
I waited a few moments, hearing nothing but silence, before a new voice nervously spoke up. “Uh, this is flight Two-Two-Seven, I-I think? We’re the only plane in the area I’m pretty sure, so that’s us, right?”
“I-Where’s the Captain? Who is this?” I replied, shooting Virpal a puzzled glance, who only shrugged in return.
“I’m one of the uh, passengers, I’m Marznil. The Captain is in the back, with the others. He… He got shot! Someone on-board shot him and the co-pilot! He’s injured, and the co-pilot is dead! The guy responsible got tied up by other passengers. Please help!”
“Oh, shit!” I yelled out, pressing my hands into my face. Can’t I have just one relaxed mission!? “Sir, do you know how to fly?”
“Uh, n-no clue! Today is my first time f-flying, actually!” He answered, causing a blood-vessel in my head to almost burst in stress.
“Damn it… Virpal, walk him through how to fly a plane”
“Yes sir, I’ll make sure he can at least get home” Virpal replied, before pressing a tentacle against his headset. “Mr. Marznil, don’t panic, I’ll give you a basic rundown on how to fly. Just listen to me, and focus on keeping your craft in the air, ok?”
“Ok, got it”
I looked at the radar once more, realising more of the decoy squadrons were gone, and two enemy aircraft were rapidly approaching. “Pegasus, heads up, more interceptors. Same bearing and altitude as before, though there’s only two of them. Bring em down, now!”
Pegasus flew high, before descending upon the two interceptors, giving chase to one. “Split up, I’ll go for the transport while you keep it busy!” One of them called out to their comrade.
“But sir, it’s the-” The other called out, before being cut off.
“Follow orders, tainted freak!”
The aircraft suddenly turned away from one another, with the one being chased deploying countermeasures as Pegasus fired a missile at them, forcing a miss. Pegasus continued his pursuit, barely giving his target any time to react before he fired another missile. It flew directly into their engine, knocking it out and crippling their plane.
“Uh, guys!?” Marznil spoke up. “I can see an aircraft flying towards us from outside the window! That’s meant to happen, right!? RIGHT!?”
“Hold on, Two-Two-Seven, we’re handing it” I replied. “Pegasus, take out that last plane”
“Marznil, focus on my voice. Deep breaths” Virpal spoke in a calm tone. “In through the nose, and out through the mouth. Now, I’m going to need you to turn left. First off…”
I turned my attention back to my own consoles, as Pegasus flew up to the enemy fighter, which turned to try and shake him off. He remained glued to its tail however, practically breathing down its pilots neck. “Get away! GET AWAY!” The pilot suddenly screamed, before beginning to rapidly slow down, as if trying to force Pegasus to overtake. He was quick to act however, firing his guns into its cockpit as he passed, killing the pilot and sending the uncontrolled fighter on a spiralling collision course with the ground below.
“All aircraft down, good work” I said.
“The remaining plane is on our side, right?” Marznil butted in nervously.
“Copy, Two-Two-Seven, that’s a friendly. Now hold tight, you’re almost home safe. Just a few more minutes till you hit friendly territory”
“Oh thank the Founders!” He replied. “I can’t wait to get out of this thing!”
I checked radar one last time, seeing nothing but the transport and Pegasus on radar. Something about that struck me as odd, and I quickly realised what. “Shit, all friendly decoy squadrons down! Something must’ve taken them out, so keep an eye out for what!”
I continued to scan the radar, seeing nothing pop up at first. Then, four new blips appeared. Shit, those are F-Two-oh-Two’s! It’s the mercs from the furball! An enemy then called out over the radio. “Red Dawn Squadron, engage. Show no mercy”
“Copy that!” Another called out, as they began to rapidly approach the transport, before turning to focus on Pegasus. “Look guys, it’s that little bitch from the furball! Time for a little payback! Kill him first, THEN we can knock that transport out the sky!”
They all flew towards Pegasus, swiftly surrounding him as they began to fire missiles at him, nipping at him like wolves trying to drag down prey.
“What is going on out there!? WHY ARE THERE SO MANY PLANES!?” Marznil cried out in sudden panic, as the mercenaries continued their relentless pursuit.
“Marznil, stay calm!” Virpal quickly responded. “Listen to me, slow, strong breaths, okay? Just keep doing what you’re doing, and focus only on the sky in front of you. Tilt your head if you need to, alright?”
“Pegasus, engage and delay as long as possible!” I called out. “Try and keep them distracted, I’ll… I’ll try and do something!”
I began reaching for my console, before spotting Pegasus turning out of the corner of my eye, heading straight for one of the fighters. “Right in my-” They began, before being cut off as he sent a missile straight into their nose, immediately destroying their aircraft.
“WHAT!? FELVI’S HIT! SHE’S GONE!” Another enemy called out, as Pegasus made a sharp turn, getting right behind another. “KILL HIM! VENGEANCE!” The two other remaining mercenaries turned to pursue him, as the one being chased made sharp turn after sharp turn to try and shake him off.
One of the chasing crafts fired a missile at him, but he suddenly pulled up. As he pulled up, one of the enemy fighters flew right above him, and he fired a missile right into its belly, shredding it and causing it to spin out of control. “FUCK! To hell with this, I’m ejecting!”
“NO NO NO! WE’RE THE BEST PILOTS ON THIS SHITHOLE PLANET, HOW IS THIS HAPPENING!? IT’S ONE PLANE, SHOOT IT DOWN YOU IDIOTS!”
Pegasus then pulled down, getting behind both remaining aircraft. He fired off his multilocks towards both planes, forcing them both to split up and evade. He then began chasing one, firing at it with his guns. They turned rapidly, making incredibly tight turns to try and get behind Pegasus. He responded by pulling up and down in rapid succession, waiting for their speed to drop significantly, before firing two missiles at the fighter. They impacted its weapon bays directly, causing it to immediately detonate in a shower of scrap. He then turned towards the last fighter, which was rapidly approaching him.
“Red Dawn One, pull out, we-” An enemy called out, before being cut off by the last fighter.
“I’M NOT LEAVING TILL MY SQUADRON IS AVENGED! I WILL HAVE MY POUND OF FLESH!”
They flew right past each other, Pegasus deploying countermeasures as they fired, causing their missiles to miss as they passed each other by. They then began to turn, using their superior manoeuvrability to get behind Pegasus. He began to barrel roll as the fighter sent a wave of lead towards him. He avoided most of the ammunition, but his wing was clipped by a few bullets, causing me to wince. C’mon, just one more, bring it down!
Pegasus then turned rapidly, managing to get right in front of the fighter, firing a single missile. They tried to evade, but turned too late, and their engine was knocked out, causing them to fall like a sack of bricks.
“NO! NOT LIKE THIS!” The enemy yelled, before calling out over open channels. “CAN YOU HEAR ME YOU SON OF A BITCH! I’LL BE BACK! I’VE BEEN TO EARTH, NOWHERE IS SAFE! I’LL-Wait, my ejector! WORK! I DON’T-” Their vehicle then impacted the earth nose-first, and exploded.
I took a moment to stare at the monitors before me, before mechanically reaching up to my headset, and calling out. “All hostiles down. Looks like the transport has entered into friendly territory as well. We’ll remain for escort until it lands. Mission accomplished”
“Right, uh… Thank you, Coalition planes, I guess” Marznil muttered. “I don’t think I’m ever getting a flight after today”
I looked over to Virpal, who gave me a shrug, and a flick of the tail. I do not blame him.

2024.04.26 12:21 Accurate-Message-469 TO LOVE AND DIE IN L.A. A TWO CHAPTER STORY TITLED: THE LETTER

This is Chapter 1 of a Two Chapter story. My version of how events played out over the course of Castle and Beckett's stay in L.A. For fun I pulled some dialogue from other episodes. Hope you enjoy!
Chapter 1: The Letter
Kate and Castle had been sitting on the couch having a glass of wine reminiscing stories about Royce. When all of a sudden Castle had blindsided her with the most beautiful words she had ever heard and ended with "And your hotness" Kate smiled inside because that was so Castle, and it broke the tension.
She heard herself say, "You're not so bad yourself Castle", then realized that statement could open up a big can of worms, so she got up and told Castle she was going to bed. As she walked towards her room, she heard Castle blurt out "Kate", she grabbed the handle of the door, and just stood there. She stood there for what seemed like hours and put her forehead against the door and thought to herself, "If Only...If Only...If Only". Kate couldn't get those words that had been in Mike Royce's letter out of her head.
She already knew that she probably loved Castle and had since the freezer incident. He was such a good man, good son, good father. He was loyal to a fault, and the best partner that she ever had, but she also knew that being in a relationship with him took her way out of her comfort zone. She seemed to perpetually be in relationships with men that she didn't love. They were easy, one foot out the door, never really had to let them into your heart. Castle was so different from any man she had ever known. He wore is heart on his sleeve, hell on his whole body. He would be all in and would expect the same from her, and that frightened the hell out of her, and yet if she was ever going to find true happiness wouldn't she eventually have to put her heart out there? "If Only".
Kate took a deep breath and turned around and walked over to Castle. She looked into his eyes, she smiled to herself, his eyes were so full of love for her, and he looked like a deer in headlights right now. He was still sitting on the couch as she walked over to him. Kate smiled down on him and ran her hands thru his hair in a comforting gesture. She peered down to him and smiled and said "Castle, can you do me a favor"?
"Sure Kate, anything", he replied.
Of course he would she thought, that was her partner thru and thru. Kate reached down and kissed him on his forehead and said, "I need you to do a couple of things for me. One, I need you to talk to your friend Maurice and ask him if he can get us a murder board for in the morning. We have to wrap this up and take Ganz into custody tomorrow before Roy throws the book at us. Two, do you think you could extend our stay here for another couple of days? I've got vacation days stored up, so if you can stay longer, maybe we could take a mini vacation.
"Yeah, Kate I can stay", Castle happily replied. "Alexis is at Prinston getting extra credits for her last year in high school, and mother is, well mother. I'm hoping she hasn't burned the loft down, so yeah, I have time, what are you thinking"?
"Just see if you can change our flight to a couple of days later. I'm sure you know a guy", she chuckled. "So now I have one thing to do and then I'm going to bed because we will have a long day tomorrow. You get your chores done and head off to bed yourself".
"Okay Mom I'll do my chores and go to bed", Castle laughed.
Kate smiled as she walked to her door, then turned to Castle and flirted, "I Can't have you being a naughty boy...and least not yet", Then she turned and laughed as she scurried into her bedroom.
Castle mumbled under his breath, "Yeah, you better run, you evil woman".
xxxx"
Kate entered her bedroom and looked at her phone, she noticed Ten missed phone calls from Josh. She heaved a big sigh, because she was not looking forward to this conversation.
On just the first ring, like he'd been ready to pounce, Josh blurts out, "What the hell Kate, what the fuck is going on and why are you out in LA"?
Kate tried to keep her tone even, "How did you even know I was out in L.A. in the first place"?
"When you stopped answering your phone, I got worried, so I went down to the precinct and asked that Irish detective friend of yours".
Kate dripping with sarcasm said. "Is it all too much that you remember that a good friend of mines name is Ryan? Forget it, you'll never remember because it's not important enough to you". She continued to explain. "A very important person in my life Josh, has been murdered and I'm out here to bring his killer to justice".
Josh sighed, "I'm sorry about your friend Kate, but can't they handle it out there, it's not even in your jurisdiction. I had a couple of days off and I thought we could spend some time together.
"I'm not at your beckon call Josh, and my friend deserved for me to bring his killer in, me and only me. So just deal with it please".
Josh huffs, "Okay fine, so when will you be home"?
Kate took a deep breath and said, "Josh will you play a little game with me? Just a couple of questions I have for you, nothing difficult, just questions that a boyfriend would know after being in a relationship for nearly 8 months. They're very easy".
"How did we get from why you are out in L.A., and why didn't you have the courtesy to call me to let me know, to playing a game"?
Kate replied "I think if you play the game you'll come to understand the other stuff. So, are you going to play or not"?
"Fine", he yelled in total frustration.
Kate started "Okay, first question. What is my favorite color"?
"OMG you're killing me here", Kate could see in her mind that he was running his hands thru his way to long hair. "Umm, Green"?
"No Josh, its purple. Next question. What's my favorite flower?"
Josh with more confidence says, "Thats easy, Roses. I always get you Roses because you love them".
"No Josh, I don't. My favorite flowers are lilies just like my mothers were, but you never asked me, you always assumed".
"You are fucking kidding me, right? Why didn't you say anything?"
"Why didn't you ask, or even care to find out"? Kate replied.
Kate continued, "Remember that day when you came into the precinct to pick me up for dinner and Castle and I had been looking at comic books, and you sauntered over and looked down on my desk and acted like an ass and said, "Isn't it ridiculous for an adult to have comic books"? (Kate remembered laughing when Castle replied, "Ridiculously awesome)".
Josh not sure where any of this was going said, "Yeah I remember thinking that it was stupid for a grown man to collect that stuff".
"Well for your information half those comic books were mine Josh. Castle and I were betting on whose collection was better. I love the character Electra and he loves Batman, but after your lame criticism I chose to hide that from you because of your holy than though attitude of comic books".
Josh, was stunned and said," You like comic books Kate? The most driven cop in New York"?
Kate ignored him and continued, "Remember me asking you to go see Forbidden Planet with me a movie that I just love. I asked about 4 times, and you kept turning me down. You kept saying you had to work, but I called down at the hospital and found out you volunteered to work, just to avoid going with me".
Josh sighed and replied, "I'm sorry Kate, I'm just not into that stuff, but I should have told you".
Kate laughed and said, "Hey it's alright, I went with Castle, and we had popcorn and candy and then we went to Remy's and had a shake and we talked for hours about our love of the movie, and I had one of the best times I've ever had".
Josh now steamed belted out" So let me get this straight, you have a boyfriend, but you chose to go to the movies with another man".
Kate kept laughing, "Yeah, and you want to know what else? The first time he ever bought me flowers, because he knew I'd had a bad day, they were lilies, and for my birthday he got me a purple scarf, he knows my favorite tv soap opera, my favorite bad sci fi tv show, I've never told him any of these things, but he listens to me, and he cares about me, way more than my so-called boyfriend does."
Castle had just walked back into the room from doing his chores. He walked over to Kate's room to see if she was still awake to tell her that everything had been arranged. As he got near the door, he heard her starting to get loud.
"So, just to get this all straight, your shadow that follows you around like a lost puppy, the writer of bad pulp fiction, knows all these things about you that I don't, ...Wait a minute, is he out there in L.A with you right now"?
Kate now had lost all reasoning with him, and she started to yell out. "Yeah, Josh he's with me like he always is, and let me tell you what you fucking jackass, I'm proud to have been the inspiration for his books and I'm proud to be his partner. I love Nikki Heat, I loved Derek Storm, I loved the book " In A Hail of Bullets, and "When It Comes To Slaughter".
"My mother loved his books, and when my father turned into a drunk, and when my mother was murdered, I went down a deep rabbit whole so bad that I really didn't care if I woke up the next day. Then I read the last book my mother was reading before she died, "In a Hail of Bullets", and it saved my life. He wrote about the wicked being vanquished by the righteous, that good willed out against evil, and I read every book he wrote, over and over. Its why I became a cop. He literally saved my life".
Castle had heard enough. The tears poured down his face. He hated so much how she had suffered and how far gone she had once been. He loved her so much, and it killed him knowing all the people that had let her down. He turned to go to bed, though he knew that sleep would never come, as he would think only of the beautiful brunette in the other room, and how his words had helped her. He put his hand over his mouth as he started to sob.
Kate wiping the tears from her eyes calmly said, "You know what Josh, my biggest mistake was running back to you when Castle and I were rescued from the freezer. I knew then that neither one of us were really committed to each other. Everyone thinks I'm this bad ass cop, but no one realizes that I love magic, I love comic books, I love to cuddle, and feel a strong arm around my waist instead of him rolling over and facing the other way, I love to feel the rain coming down on my face on a hot summer's night. I'm Detective Beckett, but I'm also Kate, and you never seemed to get that. You come over, we have sex sometimes, we make casual conversation, and we go to bed, then start it back up the next day. That's not a relationship, that's just a bunch of one-night stands strung together, and it's not enough anymore".
Josh sighed and said, "Wow, I wish you had said something earlier. For what it's worth I'm sorry that I didn't try harder, but as soon as you get back, I promise to be a better boyfriend".
Kate trying to regain so semblance of normalcy said, "Josh, are you at my apartment now"?
"Yeah", he replied, "I let myself in when I was looking for you".
Kate took a deep breath and said, "Okay, now here's what I need you to do. Put your key on my kitchen counter, then take whatever you think is yours, there shouldn't be much, then walk out of my place and lock the door before you leave. Then go have a good life, find someone that you can get to know better, but don't contact me again. Do you hear me"?
Josh not understanding this whole turn of events says, "I can't believe this Kate, you're actually breaking up with me for him"?
"No Josh, I'm breaking up with you for me. I need to find someone that thinks I'm special, that wants to go to a movie with me, because he enjoys my company, that enjoys the things that I do, and by the way Castle's ten times the man that you are and I'm sorry it took me this long to see it". With that Kate hung up and stumbled into bed and fell asleep, thinking about her writer and best friend.

Part 30. I was almost late uploading this one entirely because of Reddit's godawful formatting changes. They're not even slightly ergonomic. I upload Wednesdays, at 4PM to 5PM British Summer Time. Credit to u/SpacePaladin15 for creating the universe of NoP, and the amazing u/ShermanTheMajor for proofreading! And thank you guys for reading. Enjoy the chapter!
“The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.”
Memory Transcript Subject: Second-Lieutenant Vilik Davies, SC Fighter Pilot Glamrock 9, Callsign ‘Magnum’
Date [Standardised Human Time]: July 7th 2168
I flew above a vast, lush mountain range, leaning into my seat slightly as my radar filled with ground targets. Great, I’ve got half the rebel army to deal with, alongside the IRBMs. At least I won’t have to deal with the others stealing my kills.
“This is AWACS Stonebuilder” I heard my new friend call out. “The valley is swarming with anti-air sites”
“Thanks, I didn’t notice” I dryly replied.
I heard the AWACS chuckle, as four priority targets were marked “Just get in, destroy the bunkers, and get out” They said, before switching to an exaggerated serious tone, causing a grin to form on my face. “And watch the attitude, pilot! Seriously though, make sure to focus. Coalition lives are at stake”
“Sir, yes sir” I replied, before accelerating, flicking a switch and activating the bunker busting bombs I’d been carrying as I approached the first silo, sitting next to a small cluster of buildings in a mountain range, with two AA guns guarding it. I carefully lined a bomb up, and let it drop, before switching to missiles as the enemy noticed me.
“Shit, enemy fighter!” One called out. “Sound the alarm! WAIT, BO-” They were cut off as the bomb hit its mark, detonating in a fireball and breaking through the silo, causing a massive fireball to launch into the air. I took the advantage of the sudden confusion, firing my missiles at the guns, sending one into each weapon. They detonated alongside the silo, as alarms began to blare out below.
“One down, three to go!” I called out.
“You love to see it! Bury the rest of em!” Stonebuilder replied.
I flew out towards the next target, before my missile warning system began to blare out. Two SAMs fired missiles at me, which began to rapidly pursue me. I turned down slowly, watching both the ground and the missiles creep up on me, before suddenly pulling up hard, causing the trackers to slam into the ground.
I sighed in relief as I approached the second silo unharmed. The enemy below me began to panic as I approached, and V-TOL aircraft began to take off below me. “Get those aircraft up and request backup now! Shit, it’s approaching! Begin the missile launch sequence!”
I dropped the bomb onto the bunker and turned to fire my gun into one of the V-TOLs, annihilating the IRBM and severing one of its wings with one quick turn, before speeding away.
“Good job, two left!” Stonebuilder called out. “Take them out before they launch”
“This is almost too easy. They’re so bad at defending these rockets I don’t even think they’re gonna launch them!”
“Launch in T-minus one minute” Speakers called out below, causing a faint frown to tug at my cheeks and an embarrassed bloom to travel into my ears. Nevermind… I should really keep my mouth shut next time.
“You were saying?” Stonebuilder chuckled.
“Please shut up”
I rapidly approached the next silo, weaving between AA fire the enemy spat at me, and dropping a third bomb right as a pursuing V-TOL fired a missile at me. I pulled up as the ground below shook, and death above passed me by with a wide birth.
“T-minus thirty seconds”
I then rapidly made my way to the third silo, the rebel’s fire going wide all the while.
“T-minus ten”
I began turning down, as the hatch to the next silo opened.
“Nine”
I took aim, before a burst of AA fire forced me to turn.
“Eight”
I pulled up, as time seemed to slow to a crawl.
“Seven”
I continued to pull on the control stick hard.
“Six”
Pressing into my chair, as the world went upside down, then corrected itself.
“Five, begin ignition”
Spotting smoke begin to rise from the silo, as the rocket within came to life.
“Four”
Lining up another bomb.
“Three”
Letting it fly.
“Two”
Watching it glide towards the silo, painfully slow.
“One”
Before detonating, sending a massive blast firing into the sky, as I activated my afterburners to pursue the remaining missile.
“Liftoff, one, two”
“An IRBM has taken off!” Stonebuilder called out, as a burning pillar began to rise from the mountains. “Chase them down, don’t let them reach critical altitude!”
My aircraft accelerated to the missile with enough speed to press me into my chair, as I switched to missiles. I watched the altitude metre climb, and the missile got closer and closer, but a pit began to form in my stomach as I realised I might not make it in time. C’mon, I’m not fucking up here, not now.
My warning systems began to beep, as another missile creeped up on me, fired from a newly-arriving interceptor. “Die, predator!” They called out.
I watched both the missile approach, and my aircraft climb, almost approaching stall height, before I mercifully locked onto the IRBM. I fired two missiles, before my aircrafts nose took a sudden dive, sending me flying back to the planet below as the missile detonated behind me, and the one chasing me went wide. “I-I got it!” I called out. “It’s down! We win, right!?”
“Shit, not quite! One missile still remaining, it’s maintaining a low altitude! The rebels must’ve hidden a silo! Intercept now!” Oh by the Protector, this mission is cursed!
I accelerated downwards towards the remaining missile, sending off a few machine gun rounds to the interceptor as I flew past it to try and dissuade further pursuit. I spotted the remaining missile flying just above the uneven terrain below moving towards it as another missile from the increasingly annoying interceptor flew towards me. I deployed countermeasures, uninterested in dealing with the enemies attempts at stopping me, as I locked onto and fired a missile to the rocket.
I almost breathed a sigh of relief at having downed it, but the universe seemed set on punishing me for my hubris, because the rocket turned to evade my missile.
“WHAT THE FUCK!?” I shouted in both surprise and frustration.
“Looks like it’s got evasive AI and quick turning built in!” Stonebuilder yelled. “Use everything you have to shoot it down!”
I fired a second missile and sent bullets flying towards the rocket, but it turned sharply, evading once more while only being hit by a few bullets. Still, I pursued it, continuously firing as it tried to evade.
The rocket continued to make sharp turns, evading my rounds as it flew down and into the valley below. I followed it, continuing to fire as it weaved between rocks, cliff faces, and rebel encampments, before pulling up sharply. I followed it, feeling blood rush out of my brain as my plane flew up sharply, continuing to hold down on the trigger to my guns. I finally managed to hit the weapon, sending several rounds into its engine. The rocket began to slow, and I stopped firing, choosing to accelerate towards the bomb instead. Time for the worst gamble of my life.
The rocket levelled out as I creeped up on it, continuing its flight. It made wider turns as it tried to outrun me, nearing the ground before turning back up again, as if trying to get me to slam into the ground. I waited just a couple moments, getting closer to the damaged rocket as it continued its larger turns, before firing two missiles directly at the rockets and slowing rapidly. It tried to turn, but evaded too slowly, and detonated from the dual impacts of my weapons. I breathed a sigh of relief, turning to head home.
“That’s the last one this time, right?” I panted.
“Looks like it, all IRBMs down. Unless…”
“Oh don’t you fucking dare!” I snapped, causing the AWACS to chuckle.
“Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself! You’re clear, no IRBMs remaining. RTB”
I leaned back in my chair, resting as much as I could from the sudden minutes of stress, as I made my way towards the fortress Kai had hopefully managed to capture. I think I was just punished for my hubris… Fuck you too, whatever god put me through this.

Chapter 1: "The National Anthem"
As the truck rumbles to a halt, eighteen hopeful castaways spill out into Pokémon Square, their nerves tingling with anticipation. Unaware of the seismic twist awaiting them, they soon learn they won't be divided by mere chance but by the essence of their origins: urbanized versus wild. To their astonishment, both tribes will share one camp. In the flurry of introductions and alliances, Alexi stumbles upon a game-changing advantage—the Ukuaji Hidden Immunity Idol. Sensing the weight of responsibility, she bestows it upon Claire, a strategic move that could shape their tribe's fate. The immunity challenge ignites a fierce competition, each tribe navigating obstacles with determination. In the end, Maisha triumphs, securing safety for another day. Right after, tensions simmer as Wren's blunt assessment of Sylvester sparks a heated confrontation, fracturing tribal unity.
Alexi's fortune continues to rise when she stumbles upon yet another advantage—the Maisha Hidden Immunity Idol, a secret she keeps close to her chest. Meanwhile, Dawn seizes the opportunity to forge alliances across tribal lines, aligning with the perceived power players. Amidst the frenzied activity, whispers of strategy circulate like wildfire. Oscar, fueled by ambition and a desire to eliminate threats, sets his sights on Furtiva, sensing dissent within their ranks. The majority alliance, led by Aries and Claire, seizes upon this opportunity, crafting a plan to secure their dominance.
In a calculated move to safeguard their positions, they rally behind Max's suggestion, turning Rocco into a second target. As tribal council looms, tensions simmer and alliances are tested. In a dramatic climax, the torches are snuffed, and Furtiva becomes the first casualty of their ruthless game, leaving Max to confront the harsh reality of her precarious position.

Chapter 2: "Jigsaw Falling into Place"
Anticipation hangs heavy in the air as the castaways prepare for a crucial reward challenge. With determination etched on their faces, eight members from each tribe vie to unravel a tangled knot and claim victory. In a thrilling display of teamwork, Maisha emerges triumphant, earning a coveted tarp for their camp. The relentless pace continues as the tribes face off in the immunity challenge, teetering precariously on narrow beams over the water. With each step fraught with tension, Ukuaji narrowly clinches victory, securing their safety. Back at camp, Larissa's proposal to target Matilda sparks friction, met with resistance from Bill who staunchly defends her. Meanwhile, Mayday and Romagna bond over shared struggles with trust, forging a tentative alliance based on mutual reliability. Claire, reassured by her tribe's immunity win, takes the opportunity to reassess her allegiances, while Aries seeks to gather intel from the opposing tribe, forming an unlikely alliance with Otto and Romagna. As tensions mount, Sylvester's machinations to target Vanilla stir chaos within the Maisha tribe. Despite Bill's efforts to maintain order, dissent brews, with Wren advocating for Ginger as a potential target. With tribal council looming, Sylvester's impassioned plea for unity falls on deaf ears when he mentions how hard is to break the ice in the tribe. Getting paranoid, Alexi plays her idol in a bold move to safeguard herself. In a climactic vote, the ice finally shatters, and Vanilla is voted out in a decisive 6-3 decision against Matilda.

Chapter 3: "Sit Down. Stand Up."
Exhaustion hangs heavy over the camp as the relentless noise of bustling personalities fills the air, testing the castaways' resolve. Seeking reprieve, the tribes face off in not one, but two demanding challenges. Ukuaji emerges victorious, claiming both reward and immunity, sparing them from the looming threat of elimination. As the dust settles, Romagna breathes a sigh of relief, grateful to avoid the burden of orchestrating another elimination. Meanwhile, Mayday offers solace to a nervous Matilda, her fears of being targeted once again echoing through the camp. Oscar's frustration simmers as he struggles to make his voice heard within the tribe, while Aries finds solace in a newfound alliance with Otto, Bill, and Claire, shifting his allegiance away from Dawn. Amidst the chaos, Larissa's melodious tunes disrupt strategy discussions, drawing ire from her fellow castaways. Wren seizes upon this opportunity to sway the vote against her, but Dawn questions Wren's motives, sparking tension within the tribe. Larissa, sensing the walls closing in, attempts to shift the target onto Otto, but her efforts fall flat as the tribe's affection for him remains steadfast. Suspicion mounts as players speculate on Larissa's potential possession of an idol, yet her conspicuous demeanor leaves little room for doubt. As tribal council descends into chaos, Larissa's fate is sealed in a unanimous vote, leaving a bitter taste in her mouth as she directs accusations towards Alexi, igniting a firestorm of distrust and uncertainty.

Chapter 4: "Everything in Its Right Place"
In the early hours of dawn, with Larissa's accusatory words still echoing in her mind, Alexi sets out in search of the idol, her determination unwavering as she unearths the coveted advantage. Meanwhile, tensions flare between Sylvester and Oscar, their simmering feud erupting into a heated exchange over breakfast. As the castaways gather for the reward challenge, the air crackles with anticipation. Armed with slingshots and pamtre berries, tribes clash in a fierce battle of precision and skill. In a stunning display of prowess, Maisha emerges victorious, claiming a coveted reward. But victory is fleeting as the tribes once again face off, this time in a race of agility and intellect. Teetering across a precarious balance beam, they race to solve a puzzle and unlock the key to immunity. In a nail-biting finish, Maisha clinches victory once more, securing their safety for another round. Back at camp, tensions reach a boiling point as Oscar and Sylvester's feud escalates, threatening to divide the tribe. Claire and Romagna weigh their options, contemplating intervention but ultimately choosing to stay out of the fray. Seeking to solidify her position, Mayday approaches Ginger with a proposition, sparking the formation of a new alliance that includes Alexi and Sylvester. As alliances shift and loyalties are tested, Rocco and Romagna find themselves at odds, while Aries voices concerns over Oscar's confrontational behavior. Amidst the chaos, Mayday finds herself blindsided by her own allies' betrayal, as Bill and Romagna orchestrate a plot to oust Oscar. At tribal council, tensions run high as the castaways cast their votes, culminating in a shocking blindside as Oscar is voted out in a 5-3 decision against Max.

Chapter 5: "Knives Out"
Mayday grapples with the sting of betrayal, concealing her simmering resentment behind a façade of acceptance. As the tribes gather for the next challenge, tension hangs heavy in the air, anticipation mounting for the impending twist. With a dramatic flourish, the castaways are instructed to smash their painted eggs, their fates sealed within the vibrant hues of tribe-colored paint. Aries, Bill, and Claire find themselves in the minority in the revamped Maisha, their once-solid alliance now fractured. Yet Bill remains undeterred, his optimism buoyed by a secret alliance with Dawn. Meanwhile, in Ukuaji, Mayday finds herself in a position of power, poised to forge new alliances alongside Ginger and Alexi. As the tribes compete in a grueling reward challenge, Maisha emerges victorious once more, their spirits buoyed by the taste of success. But the triumph is short-lived as the tribes face off in an intense immunity challenge. In a battle of skill and strategy, Maisha once again emerges triumphant, securing their safety for another round. Back at camp, Bill seizes the opportunity to broker a deal with Dawn, proposing a new alliance with Claire and Sylvester to upend the balance of power. In Ukuaji, tensions simmer as Romagna feels her control slipping, while Rocco plots a blindside to avenge Oscar's elimination. As tribal tensions reach a boiling point, Alexi's paranoia proves costly as she misplays her idol, mistakenly believing Romagna to be targeting Ginger. Romagna's overconfidence becomes her downfall, as Mayday and Rocco's cunning plan takes center stage, orchestrating a blindside that leaves Romagna reeling, their revenge exacted in a twist of fate that reshapes the game once more.

Chapter 6: "Backdrifts"
Alexi grapples with frustration over her misplayed idol, but finds solace in her burgeoning friendship with Max, their bond strengthening amidst the chaos of the game. As the tribes face off in a grueling reward challenge, Maisha emerges triumphant, their victory tempered by the growing rifts within their ranks. Yet their joy is short-lived as Ukuaji rallies to secure immunity, their spirits buoyed by the taste of victory. Back at camp, Claire's fortuitous discovery of the Hidden Immunity Idol sets the stage for a power play, while Aries and Bill grapple with the weight of their next move. In the midst of the chaos, Sylvester's vendetta against Wren comes to a head, his determination to oust his nemesis driving a wedge between the original Maisha members. Matilda, however, harbors her own agenda, setting her sights on Sylvester in a bid for control. With Claire caught in the crossfire of conflicting agendas. At Ukuaji camp, Max's offhand remark ignites a firestorm of conflict between former allies, as Ginger, Alexi, and Mayday find themselves questioning their trust in Sylvester. With alliances strained and tensions high, the castaways brace themselves for the inevitable showdown at tribal council. Meanwhile, tensions boil over at the Ukuaji camp as Max's sarcastic remark ignites a fiery confrontation with Alexi. As trust wavers, Ginger, Alexi, and Mayday find themselves questioning Sylvester's loyalty in the wake of his alliance with the rival tribe. At tribal council, plans unravel as Wren becomes the sacrificial lamb. As the torch is snuffed and Wren's torch is extinguished, Sylvester is left reeling from the revelation of Matilda's betrayal.

Chapter 7: "Life in a Glasshouse"
As the long-awaited merge dawns, the Umoja tribe emerges from the ashes of former rivalries, uniting under a banner of shared destiny. Yet, beneath the veneer of camaraderie, tensions simmer as old grudges resurface. Rocco and Ginger find themselves at odds, their contrasting worldviews clashing amidst the chaos of the merge. In the aftermath of a grueling reward challenge, the tribe braces for the first individual immunity challenge. Dawn emerges victorious. Back at camp, alliances shift and strategies evolve as players jockey for position in the ever-changing landscape of the game. Bill and Sylvester share a moment of camaraderie, solidifying their alliance and setting their sights on domination. Meanwhile, Matilda and Max clandestinely form a secret alliance, their shared goals aligning as they plot their next move. With Otto in their sights, they set their sights on orchestrating his downfall, confident in their ability to shape the course of the game. As tensions reach a boiling point, Claire rallies her allies in a bid to eliminate Matilda once and for all. The tribe stands divided, each member weighing their loyalties and alliances in the crucible of tribal council. In a nail-biting vote, Otto becomes the first casualty of the merge, his torch extinguished as the jury finally starts.

Chapter 8: "How to Disappear Completely"
Bill's clandestine vote against Ginger sends ripples through the tribe, his covert decision kept carefully under wraps to maintain the facade of unity among his allies. Meanwhile, Matilda expresses gratitude towards Max for his pivotal role in her survival. Rocco, buoyed by the prospect of Ginger's departure, seeks to uncover the identity of who voted for him. The reward challenge brings both exhilaration and opportunity, as the tribe competes fiercely for a chance to replenish their supplies. One day after, Dawn's second individual immunity win solidifies her standing as a formidable competitor. Back at camp, Rocco's suspicions about Ginger vote turn towards Mayday, prompting him to cultivate a closer relationship with her. Claire, grappling with the shifting dynamics of the merge, questions the validity of her alliance from the Maisha tribe. As tensions escalate, Ginger learns of Rocco's plan to target him and launches a counterattack, rallying support to turn the tables on his adversary. Sylvester sees an opportunity to target Matilda, but Bill persuades him to focus on eliminating Ginger instead. At tribal council, the rivalry between Rocco and Ginger takes center stage, culminating in a decisive vote that sees Ginger ousted from the game in a vote of 8-3 against Rocco.

Chapter 9: "All I Need"
As the game reaches its 23rd day, the bonds of friendship prove to be crucial amidst the turmoil of shifting allegiances and constant betrayals. Matilda finds solace in her close alliance with Mayday, a source of comfort amidst the chaos of the game. Meanwhile, the unlikely friendship between Bill and Dawn continues to flourish, defying the odds and transcending their differences. Following his victory in the immunity challenge, Sylvester sets his sights on strategic maneuvering, targeting Claire for elimination with the help of Alexi. However, Rocco, sensing an opportunity to seize control, shifts his focus to Max, rallying support from Dawn and Mayday for his plan. Bill grows increasingly wary of Alexi's influence and orchestrates a move against him, enlisting the support of Claire and Aries. However, their plans are thrown into disarray when Sylvester insists on targeting Claire instead. To avoid conflict within their alliance, they ultimately decide to target Matilda, a common adversary. Matilda, recognizing her precarious position, pleads with Max to vote alongside her in a desperate bid for survival. At tribal council, tensions run high as the tribe grapples with uncertainty. Claire's timely use of her idol nullifies several votes against her, but in the end, it is Alexi who is blindsided by the majority alliance and the idol she gave to Claire, becoming the third jury member after misplaying his idols in previous rounds.

Chapter 10: "The Bends"
Bill, now wielding considerable social influence, has garnered the trust of Sylvester and Max, solidifying his power within the tribe. During the reward challenge, the castaways engage in a Survivor auction, with half receiving indulgent food items while the others receive cherished letters from home. Matilda, however, secures an advantage for the next immunity challenge and a communal cake for the tribe to enjoy. Despite her advantage, Matilda falls short in the immunity challenge, and Sylvester claims victory for the second time, securing his safety yet again. Back at camp, Matilda and Max share a reflective moment, acknowledging their resilience amidst the chaos of the game. eanwhile, cracks begin to form in Bill and Sylvester's friendship, as Sylvester feels sidelined in Bill's strategic plans. Aries, sensing a similar disregard from Bill and Claire, severs ties with their alliance. Amidst the brewing tensions, Rocco and Max find themselves at odds, targeting each other as potential threats. Claire, recognizing Matilda's longevity in the game, seeks to target her for elimination. Bill attempts to sway Claire towards voting out Aries to prove his loyalty to Sylvester, but Claire remains steadfast in her decision to target Matilda. However, Matilda's allies rally to her defense, redirecting the target towards Claire. At tribal council, Claire faces a nerve-wracking vote, confident in her numbers but ultimately shocked when the tide turns against her. In a close 5-4 vote, Matilda is ousted, leaving Claire to breathe a sigh of relief as she narrowly escapes elimination.

Chapter 11: "Climbing Up the Walls"
As the game intensifies, Claire finds herself reeling from the close call at the previous tribal council, unaware of Bill's clandestine attempt to save Matilda. With only Dawn and Sylvester remaining from the original Maisha tribe, they lean on their alliance with Bill for support. During the reward challenge, castaways engage in a revealing game of majority rules, with Claire emerging victorious and selecting Bill and Mayday to join her on a flight to a remote island for a picnic. Next day, Dawn secures her third individual immunity, solidifying her safety in the game. Back at camp, Claire's suspicions about Bill's behavior grow, leading her to forge a secret alliance with Max, Aries, and Mayday. Claire sets her sights on targeting Sylvester, blaming him for Bill's perceived erraticism, while Max advocates for targeting Rocco. Sylvester, feeling the pressure of being targeted, attempts to rally support against Claire, but his efforts fall short as his allies prefer to target Rocco instead. Sensing an opportunity, Claire deceives Bill into believing they will vote for Rocco, setting the stage for a blindside. At tribal council, Sylvester is blindsided by a 5-3 vote against Rocco, leaving Bill shocked and betrayed by Claire's cunning strategy.

Chapter 12: "Decks Dark"
With tensions rising and alliances crumbling, Max seizes the opportunity to strengthen her position in the game by forging new connections with Aries, exploiting the growing distrust among former allies. At reward challenge, Bill's attempt to mend fences with Claire and Dawn through a picnic with loved ones reveals his strategic maneuvering to regain their trust. At the immunity challenge, Dawn secures her fourth immunity win, solidifying her status as a formidable player in the game. Back at camp, Max discovers a shared interest in hiphop with Rocco, forging an unexpected bond that could have significant implications for the game. However, Dawn recognizes the threat posed by their budding friendship and moves to exploit Rocco's vulnerability. As discussions ensue about the next target, Mayday advocates for targeting Bill, leveraging Dawn's immunity status to make a strategic move. However, resistance within the tribe coalesces around the consensus to vote out Rocco, who finds himself isolated and vulnerable. At tribal council, Rocco becomes the target of a 5-2 vote against Bill, leaving Mayday frustrated and the tribe divided as they approach the final stages of the game.

Chapter 13: "No Surprises"
Dawn finds herself in a precarious position as the sole remaining member of the original Maisha tribe. At the reward challenge, Aries emerges victorious, forming a bond with Claire and Max as they enjoy a luxurious trip on a yacht. Meanwhile, at the immunity challenge, Bill secures safety with a decisive win, further solidifying his position as a formidable competitor in the game. Back at camp, tensions rise as Claire swiftly targets Dawn for elimination, viewing her as a threat due to her close relationship with Bill and recent challenge successes. In a desperate bid to save herself, Dawn attempts to rally support against Claire, but finds little traction as Bill remains hesitant to turn against his ally. As tribal council approaches, Dawn's fate seems sealed as she faces overwhelming odds. At tribal council, Dawn's efforts to shift the target onto Claire fall short, and she is ultimately voted out in a 4-2 decision against Aries. With her departure, Bill is left in an uncomfortable position.

Final Chapter Intro:
Welcome to the final episode of That Pokémon Survivor: Pokémon Square! After the intense division between urban and wild Pokémon, the urban tribe has prevailed, leaving five remaining contestants to battle it out in the ultimate showdown.
Aries, a dedicated astrology enthusiast, has navigated the game with a strategic approach, relying on strong alliances to secure her position in the game. Bill, a charismatic actor with impeccable social skills, has forged unlikely friendships that have both bolstered his alliances and placed him in precarious situations throughout the game. Claire, a cunning strategist, has masterfully orchestrated her gameplay, forming solid alliances and leveraging the two hidden idols she discovered to outmaneuver her competition. Max, hailing from the minority faction, has quietly risen through the ranks, forming crucial bonds with key players and exploiting strategic opportunities to advance her game. Despite facing numerous setbacks and challenges, Mayday has persevered, utilizing her keen instincts and unwavering determination to survive each tribal council, even in the face of relentless paranoia.
As the final showdown looms, who will emerge victorious and claim the title of Sole Survivor? The stage is set for an epic conclusion to an unforgettable season.

Final Chapter Part I:
The remaining five contestants brace themselves for the final leg of the game. Max, confident in her alliances and strategic maneuvers, sets her sights on securing her spot in the finale. At the pivotal immunity challenge, castaways face a grueling maze and puzzle, with Bill emerging victorious, clinching his second individual immunity and guaranteeing his place in the final four. Back at camp, Mayday intensifies her efforts to solidify her position, forging connections with Claire and reaffirming her bond with Bill. However, as Bill reflects on the game, he recognizes the threat posed by Mayday's gameplay and resolves to target her at tribal council, with Claire in agreement. At tribal council, as it's the last round to do so, Claire plays her hidden immunity idol. When the votes are read, Mayday becomes the unanimous choice for elimination against Max.

Final Chapter Part II:
With only four castaways remaining, Bill and Aries find themselves on opposite ends of the game, their strained relationship threatening to boil over in the final round. However, Max remains optimistic, confident in her unbreakable bonds with both players. In a nail-biting immunity challenge, Bill secures his third consecutive individual immunity win, cementing his place in the finale and leaving Aries, Claire, and Max vulnerable to elimination. Back at camp, Aries faces the harsh reality of potentially being the next to go, while Bill considers the strategic implications of voting out Max, whom he views as a formidable threat to his game. With the support of Claire, Bill sets his sights on orchestrating Max's blindside, despite their close relationship. At tribal council, Max is blindsided by the revelation of her elimination, as she becomes the final member of the jury. With only three castaways remaining, Bill, Aries, and Claire prepare to face off in the ultimate showdown for the title of Sole Survivor.

Final Tribal Council:
As the final tribal council commences, the three finalists—Aries, Bill, and Claire—present their cases to the jury, each outlining their strategic gameplay and accomplishments throughout the game. Aries emphasizes his ability to navigate solid alliances and protect himself in the game, pointing to key moments such as orchestrating Oscar's elimination. Bill reflects on his adaptive gameplay, forging bonds with diverse players and making strategic moves to advance his position in the game, even relying on immunity wins when necessary. Claire highlights her aggressive gameplay, targeting threats and strategically utilizing her two hidden immunity idols for protection. The jury members challenge the finalists, questioning Aries's passive gameplay and reliance on others, Bill's dependence on immunity wins, and Claire's lack of deep personal connections. Despite the critiques, each finalist defends their game and strategy. As the jury prepares to cast their votes, each member weighs their options carefully. Sylvester commends Aries for his under-the-radar gameplay, while Alexi acknowledges Claire's strategic acumen. Dawn casts her vote for Bill, reflecting on their friendship and shared experiences throughout the game. With the votes cast and the reunion approaching, the finalists anxiously await the outcome, eager to see who will be crowned the Sole Survivor.

Reunion
The reunion brings together the castaways, the jury, and fans to celebrate the conclusion of the season. As the votes are revealed, Bill emerges as the winner of the title of Sole Survivor, earning praise for his strong social gameplay and genuine connections with his fellow castaways. The audience erupts in cheers as Bill's fan club celebrates his victory, showcasing his popularity both within the game and among viewers. The production awards for the most strategic players are also announced, with Aries taking third place for her solid under-the-radar gameplay, followed by Mayday in second place for her strategic vision despite setbacks in execution. Finally, Claire is recognized as the most strategic player, praised for her strategic finesse, adept social game, and possession of two immunity idols.
With the winners celebrated and the season concluded, the castaways and fans reflect on the memorable moments and compelling gameplay of That Pokémon Survivor: Pokémon Square.
Winner: _____Bill_____
Runner-Up: _____Claire______
2nd-Runner-Up: _____Aries____
Fan Favorite: _____Wren_____
My thoughts: I was not so fond of the game beginning, I think the One World didn't have much effect on the game despite Claire getting the idol from Alexi. This was quite interesting as it was the same idol that Claire used to eliminate Alexi. The late merge was really quite interesting, I love seeing Bills storyline, I think he was quite ute in the first beginning of the game, but he played many risky moves to try to save potential allies and in the end game he really surprised me by deciding Mayday and Max eliminations. Claire was a huge standout since the beginning but her late game was quite weak. All the last remaining Maisha members were interesting.
Thanks for supporting this series, see you!

2024.04.16 04:03 Train_Current Books with this style of description? [Example in comments]

Hi, I am looking for book suggestions or genres with this type of writing. From the book Sophie's Choice:
Disclaimer: Please ignore the obscenity in these quotes. I just want book suggestions with this type of descriptive prose. Obviously it doesn't have to be sexual, but I really like how William Styron describes things.
  1. "I could not figure out why my mouth was leaking so, and this worry itself prevented me even more firmly from exploring. Breasts, bottom or, God help me, that innermost recess which had figured so thrillingly in my dreams. I was in the grip of nameless and diabolical paralysis. It was as if ten thousand Presbyterian Sunday School teachers had massed above Long Island in a minatory cloud, their presence resolutely disabling my fingers"
  2. "The varieties of sexual experience are, I suppose, so multifarious that it is an exaggeration to say that Sophie and I did that night everything it is possible to do. But I’ll swear we came close, and one thing forever imprinted on my brain was our mutual inexhaustibility. I was inexhaustible because I was twenty-two, and a virgin, and was clasping in my arms at last the goddess of my unending fantasies. Sophie’s lust was as boundless as my own, and I’m sure, but for more complex reasons it had to do, of course, with her good raw natural animal passion, but it was also both a plunge into carnal oblivion and a flight from memory and grief. More than that, I now see, it was a frantic and orgiastic attempt to beat back death. But at the time I was unable to perceive this, running as I was the temperature of an overheated Sherman tank, being out of my wits with excitement, and filled all night with long dumb wonder at our combined frenzy."
  3. "The seizure of pure lust which accompanied this tender manipulation was accompanied in turn by a twinge of shame; there was something sneaky, almost necrophiliac in the act, molesting even the epidermal surface of Sophie in the privacy of her drugged slumber - and so I stopped, withdrew my hand"
Again, ignore the subject of these quotes if it is obscene. I just want suggestions of authors/books/genres that describe things so well.
Thank you

2024.04.09 15:16 Zesty256 19 & 20/52 - Flight by Sherman Alexie & Waiting for Eden by Elliot Ackerman

19 & 20/52 - Flight by Sherman Alexie & Waiting for Eden by Elliot Ackerman
Both are short novels and while I really enjoyed WFE, I thought Flight tried and failed to be deeper than it really was. For anyone who liked Johnny Got His Gun then I’d definitely recommend Waiting For Eden.
⭐️⭐️ Flight
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Waiting for Eden
