2024.05.15 09:21 Boring-Rutabaga5319 A Comprehensive Guide About Application For Leave From School

During a student’s academic journey, unplanned events may happen that require them to miss class. People with kids need to know how to ask for school leave, whether for an emergency, a family emergency, or a planned vacation. You can request to miss school in writing by filling out an application for leave in school. People typically apply to leave school for various reasons, such as to go on a long trip, get medical care, or go to an event. Remember that applications for school leave need to be made politely and professionally. The application for leave in school should be brief and indicate the cause for the absence, how long it will last, and when the student will return. The application for leave will be talked about briefly in this article.

Reason for Leave application

For private reasons

A student may need to take time off if they have to deal with a family problem or another personal matter. For medical reasons if a child is sick or hurt and needs to be cared for or rest, they may have to miss school. Parents have to provide an application for leave in school for fever.

Because of religion

A student might miss class to attend a church event or celebrate a holiday. Because they need to learn, students may miss class to finish an internship, go on a study abroad course, or go to a conference.

Outside of school

Students may miss a few school days because of an event or action outside of school. They should provide an application for leave in school for going out of station.

Types of Leave

Medical, personal, emergency, and holiday leave are the most common types of leave that schools give. Knowing the differences between the types is essential because each may have different needs and ways of applying them.

How Applications Are Made?

Applications for leave in school are made through routes set up by schools. As part of it, you might have to use a website, fill out a form, or write an official letter. Parents and children should learn about the school’s recommended application process to ensure they follow it.

Very Important Papers

Application for leave in school may mean that schools must ask for supporting documents. Medical leave sometimes needs a note or proof from a doctor. You may need the same kind of proof of trip plans for vacation time. Gather the necessary paperwork and send it in with the leave request.

Time of absence

Most of the time, schools ask parents to let them know before they take their child out of the building. Then, the school management can do the right thing and ensure the child’s education is interrupted less often. Parents should request time off from school as soon as possible, in line with the school’s stance on advance notice. Parents should provide an application for leave in school for 1 day in advance.

Amount of time away

When it comes to schools, there may be rules about how much time you can miss for different reasons. There may be limits on vacation time, but people who are sick may be able to take medical leave for as long as they need it. Parents and children should know these time limits so they don’t get mixed up. The school management takes requests for time off when they are sent in. Anyone on the staff, like the director, school counsellor, or someone else, can review this. Parents and kids should be patient and wait for proof of clearance before moving forward.

Communication Tools

Schools usually set up specific ways for parents to talk to their administrators about requests for time off. One way to do this is to go online, email a pre-addressed address, or call the school office. When parents and kids use the official ways to get in touch, they can ensure their needs are heard and met. Parents and kids who want to take time off should check in with the school to ensure they got the application for leave in school and see what’s going on. They should quickly provide additional paperwork or details to speed up the process. The open conversation keeps approvals from being late.

Other Places of Education

To make sure that a student’s education continues while they are abroad, schools could offer other ways to learn. This could mean making study guides, giving homework, or teaching online. Asking about these plans might help lessen the adverse effects of leave on a child’s schoolwork. It must be turned in before the leave of absence starts and is usually sent to the school’s department head or director.

Go back to School Rules and How to Do Things

Schools could have set up specific rules to help kids return to the classroom after taking a break. This could include going to teacher meetings, making up missed work, or finishing tests. Parents who want to ensure their child returns to the regular schedule should call the school. For legal and administrative reasons, schools keep much information on students present and absent. To avoid problems, parents and children must carefully record requests for time off and keep an eye on their child’s attendance.

Review and Thoughts

Parents and kids can stay current on any changes or improvements by reviewing the school’s leave policies and procedures. Giving the school administration comments on their experiences with asking for time off can also help ensure that things keep improving.

Conclusion

Parents and kids need to know the school’s rules about requesting time off to talk about their needs and ensure the kids have a smooth educational experience. Parents and kids can handle the process confidently and keep their child’s schooling as regular as possible if they know the types of leaves, the necessary paperwork, and the permission processes. Parents and schools must work together, plan, and talk to each other so that application for leave in school requests are adequately treated and students can keep up with their work.

FAQs

How do I request school leave?
To request school leave, write to your principal or other school administration.
How early should I request leave?
Leave should be requested as early as possible to allow the school to make arrangements. The timeline depends on school policy and the cause of the leave. In a medical emergency, you may need to apply for leave sooner.
What is the use of leave applications in school?
A leave application is a written request to take time off school, college, or employment for a certain period.

2024.05.15 09:04 SecureCamera6257 AITA for telling men to keep their hands to themselves

I (21) F have a really petite build. I am about 5 feet tall and weigh about 80 pounds which coupled with my tiny face makes me look like a child. I have noticed a cycle in which men feel too comfortable touching me because of my built. My father's friends feel way too comfortable touching me like a kid ( stroking my head, grabbing me). My driving instructor feels way too comfortable touching and beating me. The same goes for any male that comes across my way. Unfortunately born in a third world country means my parents think it's not a big deal. They told me I am overreacting. Even they treat me like a kid because of my body. I am tired and started to tell men to keep their slimy hands to themselves. I just don't like men touching me other than my father and future husband. Why do people nowadays have zero respect for their opposite gender. Why have society become like this. Maybe I am just old-school but I don't enjoy my opposite gender invading my private space. My parents think I am an AH for that. AITA

2024.05.15 09:01 alotofmapling1 Conflicted with my [27M] 10 year relationship with [28F]

I've been with my partner [28F] for a little over 10 years and this is both of our first relationship. We have always been sort of long distant (different high school, colleges, grad school) but worked it out by visiting once every few months or daily phone calls. I initially had paranoia of why this person would ever like me but after awhile (~2 years), I was convinced that she truly loves me and she is very loyal (so I have no doubts that she will leave me). Now the problem for me is that, I do not know if I should continue this relationship.
I am generally a pretty optimistic person, enjoy hobbies, and have a good friend group. But I am also currently unemployed (for ~2 years now) and most likely depressed (I do see a therapist) because of that (financial instability, wasting away at home, etc.). Maybe my depression is making my feelings about the relationship worse but I don't really know at this point.
I love my partner but I don't know if I'm convincing myself that I do. She is a lovely and reasonable person but I feel like we are too different. She is depressed (for years) and very pessimistic and is almost the complete opposite from me when it comes to interests (food, hobbies, music, etc.). We don't see each other often (maybe once a week or 2) but when we do, nothing really happens (we just kind of just keep each other company and do our own thing). In the beginning of our relationship, there was so much to talk about but now there's nothing really to talk about. Our phone calls are usually just "how was your day" or "what did you eat". She would get frustrated about how I should give her more "attention" or talk about something, but there really isn't much to say. The arguments we have are usually stuff we like that or things disagree on and she cuts me off by saying she doesn't want to talk about it anymore when things go south whereas I kind of want to resolve it right then and there (I know this is a communication thing and probably a case of I should 'listen' rather than 'solving' but this is something I've been working on). I have been telling myself for years that she will change but I have come to realize more recently that I have no control over that. Obviously, its bad of me to think that way to begin with but I was still young and naïve. I have reached a point where I am frustrated about small things that she do but I don't say anything because I don't want to hurt her.
Reading everything above makes it seem like I should break this off and move on but keeps me conflicted are multiple things.
TBH I'm not sure if I can even go through with this and maybe I'm just venting but I know that she most likely won't either, so I don't know. There's also a lot of details or things I probably missed but that's it for now.
TL;DR - 10 year relationship, both our first relationship. Opposite interests, hobbies, personalities. Making decision to end is extremely difficult (fears, hopes, negative outcomes?).

2024.05.15 08:59 fruitloopss_88 Want to change the name I use, but already been using a different one for a while

Hi! Hope you're all having a nice day. I'm a trans man, pre-everything and I haven't changed my name officially (yet) since I'm still a minor.
When I came out to my parents, they were mostly supportive, I did receive some kinda transphobic comments from one parent but I highly doubt they even realised that it was hurtful. They've improved now and started accepting me as trans I think.
They helped pick a name out for me, a name that is very gender neutral. I wanted a more masc name but I thought it was okay so it stuck.
I've been out for a bit past a year now, going by that name at home and at school. However, I've been not quite happy with the name I'm going by for a long time now, and it's beginning to really bug me. I've been using this name with almost everyone for so long now, that I feel like some would probably find it annoying if I changed my name again. In other words, I feel like it might cause a hassle to those around me.
But I really want to use a different name that I picked out for myself and I don't know how. Anyone got any advice on this?

2024.05.15 08:25 c1j0c3 Need career advice- JD, MS, PhD?

Hi, I have a broad range of interests and am highly keen on pursuing many of them. I really need help in picking a path and discipline for a career, and just urgently need insight on what’s potentially out there for me. I am currently an undergraduate rising senior and am working towards degrees in both international affairs and anthropology. For the past year I’ve been set on law school for stability/money (I want kids but won’t have them unless I’m well-off) and I think I’d do well, my father is a lawyer and we both are logically inclined and naturally debate often as we have very different perspectives but respect the others’. Recently he’s taken to making me prove every statement so that he can accept them but generally I hold my own and navigate oral conversational analysis well. He’s always told me to just take the LSAT and see how I do because he thinks I’d be really fit for law school. I can see myself being a lawyer and think its somewhat up my alley but I’m just not passionate about the law or constitution or anything else other pre-law students seem to revere. I currently intern in one of the deans offices of the law school at my university and have really gotten to see what it all entails, how everything works both for the students and behind the scenes and think it would work for me. I was helping with exam scheduling and saw the course titles, looked at some of their coursework documents and was interested, particularly those in international law, as an IA major. The extracurriculars just aren’t what I’m passionate about but I could see myself enjoying the experience. Though, with law school, I am tempted to venture out and apply around the country as I want to spend my twenties in a city or stimulating environment. I don’t plan on staying or settling in my state nor practicing law here, though I guess I could and build myself up for a while, I just dream of doing so in New York or California if possible.
In terms of careers I’m passionate about, I’ve really enjoyed my courses in international relations and am very interested in learning more about everything that's just only been barely introduced to me. I would love a really comprehensive understanding of global politics within historical context, and have been researching masters programs, but honestly really just love the one my current university has. There’s also a joint JD/MS in international affairs at my university that really interests me, but I don't know the specific careers relevant to this that I could pursue. I think if I opted to go to law school, I would definitely factor in which schools have such programs in applying, and would probably just stay where I am because it seems most feasible for me, and I think i'd be ok with that? The networking is good in my city because I’m in my state’s capitol, but it’s all in very domestic realms. I just want to be where I am exposed to the most opportunity. I think I'd be most interested in criminal law, and international law naturally sounds good to me, though I'm not entirely sure what it is; it seems very broad and economic.
I just had an interview for a writing internship with the state department and it seemed like a super cool way to network into international careers in general but also international writing, as I am also passionate about writing nonfiction, essays, memoirs, etc- pieces where I can express a subjective perspective within context and generate meaningful impact. I like to submit to local literary magazines in my free time. I’m inspired by types like Joan Didion and would love to pursue a similar lifestyle. That’s just kind of a distant dream though. But with intl affairs, I’d also like to pursue anything relevant that would just allow me to experience, get involved, possibly go into policy/diplomacy, i don’t know. I just cant see a clear path.
However, more than intl relations, I am passionate about anthropology. I operate solely from an anthropological perspective and am incredibly interested in getting a masters from my university as my heart swells reading the course descriptions. I could get a joint MS/MS in Anthro and intl relations, but that just feels redundant and i'd be in the same position I am now in not knowing where to go or what to choose. But I just can't see myself solely getting a masters in anthropology and then getting a PhD, I feel id need some time in between to get more experience out in the world, do some international work, pursue other interests. It would just feel scary for me to go down a somewhat unstable path just to critically study the discipline I love the most. My overall “dream” job would be a paleoanthropologist/prehistoric archaeologist, pursuing some sort of research or fieldwork, or working at an institution and being a professor. I just don’t really know whats possible for me out there, what potential paths I could take, or just how/when I could actually do this. i would ideally like to research/excavate in the eastern hemisphere as I’m more interested in human origin rather than North American prehistory, so I don’t know if an American or International university would be best? The anthropology department at my university is extensive and well-developed as we are located in rich archaeological areas of North American activity, but I really don’t see myself staying here for a PhD, though I would definitely get a masters. Again, if anyone knows anything about such a profession and has some insight, I would appreciate it.
Basically I am just a clueless undergrad who doesn’t know much about careers in the fields I am interested in or the best path to follow to maximize my interests and life experience. I’ve asked my professors who tell me to look online, like on AAA but I think reddit just always has so much more insight. If anyone is in any fields, knows anyone, or has any knowledge on careers/university programs regarding intl affairs, intl law, intl journalism, law in general, or paths in anthropology phd’s/professor positions/prehistoric archaeological endeavors, please let me know :’)

2024.05.15 08:24 cshim127 Business Major Wanting to Switch to Nursing

When I graduated high school in 2021, I knew I wanted to study nursing in college. I attended Hunter College with the hope of being admitted into their nursing program, but unfortunately, I couldn't make it. Competing with hundreds of other students for one of the 100 spots available that year burned me out so much that I ended up scrambling to find another major just to feel like I was working towards something. Now, I'm a business management major with accounting and finance specializations at Stony Brook University aiming to get my CPA. But honestly, after taking 2 years worth of business and accounting classes, I discovered I have no passion for it. As challenging as pre-nursing was, that's what I liked about it. Recently, I started thinking of going back to community college to get my associates in nursing or to get my masters in it after I take my prerequisites. I am all for doing what you want and working towards your passions, but time is money, especially since I don't have a real job yet. If anyone else is in a similar situation, wanting to become a nurse but unable to due to circumstances, please share your experience.

2024.05.15 08:22 queenmeowmeow69 Absent father causing mental health issues in Chile. (Cross posted )

TLDR; My kids don't like their dad, even so far as resent him because he is always working.
I (f30) have been with my husband (m30) for 12 years. Together we have a ten year old daughter and a five year old son. Both special needs. Husband is suspected to be on the spectrum.
My husband and I grew up in vastly different childhoods. He is an immigrant from the Philippines and had a family that showed no affection or love. I, however, grew up with a Mom who never let us forget how much she loved us. This has played a big role in our parenting styles.
My husband and my daughter have never had the best relationship. To my perspective it seem that he just doesn't know how to act with kids. They are also so alike that they can butt heads. When my son was born, my husband had a much easier time bonding with him. Up until 1.5 years old, they were two peas in a pod. My daughter was 6 when I had my son, and she saw the difference In how they were treated.
Side note: my daughter has been in therapy since 5 due to catastrophic anxiety and has even had to be medicated.
My daughter started to think her dad didn''t like her, which was understandable to me. And it was something she worked on in therapy. Then the dialoged changed from thinking her dad doesn't like her, to now she doesn't like her dad.
My husband has always worked hard to provide for us, making sure bills are always paid, there's always food, etc. I always worked full time as well, until 2020. In 2020 my husband got a job as an executive chef, since the kids had to be home due to covid, we decided I would quit my job and stay with the kids. It was cheaper than child care.
If you look up "what it's actually like being a chef's wife" you instantly see it's very lonely. My husband works 16-18 hour days, he has two scheduled days off, but sometimes he has to go in on those days as well. When he is home he does his best to help out and spend time with us. However, he is understandably exhausted.
Once my son started pre-k, he no longer gets to see my husband very much at all. His bus arrives before his dad is up, and his dad gets home after my son is asleep. He see's him sundays, and Monday evenings. That's it. My husband missed him growing into childhood. My daughter only see's him every day because her school starts later and he often takes her to school. She's asleep before he gets home as well. I feel like a single parent most of the time.
On my own I got my daughter's mental health stable and got her off meds by age 8.
My daughter kept consistent with saying she doesn't like her dad, only it changed to hate. She started saying she hates when he is home. Even though in my eyes, their relationship looks (on the surface,) to be much better now that she is older. My son, four at the time, started to say he didn't like daddy, only mommy.
I talked to my husband about spending more time with them, try to bond a little more, maybe take an occasional day off (he hasn't taken one off in four years). He felt really guilty and spiraled into a deep depression. In his head, there is NO room for adjusting his schedule, or taking extra time off.
Another side note: In the middle of all this my husband was offered a different exec chef job, which would of paid about the same, but we would of had benefits, PTO, Bonuses, and a family friendly schedule. But it's corporate, which he hates. He loves where he cooks at now.
Both kids have been keeping up with the negative feelings toward their dad (it's very obvious he loves them). Everytime I tried to talk to my daughter about it, go deeper, as in WHY she feels this way, I was met with "I don't know" and she would shut down.
Yesterday I pick up my daughter from school and when we get home she sees her dad is home. Instantly her attitude changes and she starts saying how she hates her dad, she wishes he wasn't home and that he would just leave forever. However this time she told me a little more. She's depressed, she wanted to go back on meds, and she's just having a hard time all together. She told me she resented her dad for never being there. That he isn't her father and she would be happy if she never saw him again.
I validated her feelings, I mean, I totally get where she is coming from, and I let her know we would get through this together.
It hurts my heart to hear these things. I don't know how to handle the situation.
Should I tell my husband and hope it gets through to him enough for him to make a change? Or do I just spare my husband feelings because most likely nothing is going to change and this way we'd avoid another depression episode, and just be there for my daughter, handle it on my own?
HELP!
Edit: We do not NEED him to work those hours, he isn't working long hours for finances. This is what his job entails, and he is VERY dedicated to his job. It's his passion.

2024.05.15 08:13 Accurate_Avocado9637 I’m sick and tired of getting Nurse practitioners and PA’s instead of a real doctor

Im just going to preface this and say that this is not towards all NP’s or PA’s, and I’m just sharing my experiences. I’m not trying to discredit them, but once again this is my experience. I’m not a Karen, I swear. I’m a young adult who has a handful of health issues that I just want help with.
I am someone who has a bit of health issues, and I have for mostly my whole life, yet these past few years it has only gotten worse. And because of this, I frequently have to go to the doctors or get referrals. This being said I swear that whenever I go to an office for the doctors all I can get is a nurse practitioner or a PA. So, typically I give them the benefit of the doubt and just see how it goes. So far 7 times out of 10 they genuinely have no clue what I am talking about or have no explanation, or just a general lack of training.
I had this really good dermatologist who was very very intrigued with how my body works. My body is very sensitive to the environment, and frequently break out into hives over things I can control, I can even trigger it if I wanted to. He attentively listened to everything I said, look at the proof I have on my phone, would perform tests in office and educate me thoroughly on my conditions. I have cold urticaria, pressure urticaria, cholingeric urticaria, as well as dermatographism. So sadly my doctor had to move to a different state, and I had to get a new dermatologist. So, I walk into the new place and she introduces herself, and she is a PA, okay great. However, upon explaining to her what I had been diagnosed with and need help with, when asking questions, she could not help me. She couldn’t help me with educating because she had no clue what they were herself. The only thing she knew was the cold urticaria which she solely focused on and performed another test on me so she could see it herself. I had to inform and educate her on my conditions.
Okay, another example is I had to go to a psychiatrist, and the office referred me to a NP. Once again, okay great. I went in there explaining my issues and I would tell her basic things and I don’t know what she couldn’t comprehend. She couldn’t explain things, wouldn’t even explain my supposed diagnosis. Id ask her questions and she would beat around the bush. What really made me mad about this NP is how she acted with me when I tried to get her to give me a doctors note for accommodations for schooling. For one, she made me wait four months for it even though once a month I had to see her. I had to beg her up and down for it, and I gave her the requirements and everything. She gives me a paper finally, and it looks like I drafted it up myself so the school wouldn’t accept it. I told her that they wanted her license number at least because she wouldn’t even put it on a header. She flipped out on me, she refused to give me her license number and told me she wasn’t giving it, and if they wanted it that bad they can look it up themselves.
I go to a new gynecologist the other day, and what do they put me with, a NP. Well, I was going in there for valid concerns, and plus I needed a new once since my other one became a professor. However, I explained to her my past with medical stuff. TMI it was irregular periods. And I swear to god this woman, who should know all about this could not give me an explanation by saying that I’m just young, that’s all it is. Girl, it’s been about decade with a period, it should be regulated now when it was fine for years. Then when we were talking about me and autoimmune disorders (which is a whole other story), she once again had no clue. I ask her a couple more questions so I could educate myself, and her response is “yeah that is weird. I don’t know.”- girl, come on now.
Then, I was at the ED because I was having heart issues. My heart rate would go into the 170-180s and plummet, and they assigned me a NP who looked at me for one second, said I was fine, sent me home. My ekg results came out as abnormal, and on top of that I had to go to a cardiologist where I was diagnosed with a heart condition. On top of this, I was irritated at her because they had be in the waiting room for about 6 hours, brought me to a flex room that didn’t even have a bed, it was a chair, and I was sent out immediately. I had to wait a few more hours and eventually I said to my mother, I don’t feel good, I want to go home. So we go to the desk to discharge, and they are like “are you sure you want to leave, your doctor was just about to discharge you?” First of all no doctor came over to us, second of all the woman I seen for 1 second had come into the waiting room FULL of people announcing my test results and blood work.
All I’m asking is for someone who can explain things and know what they are doing. But once again, they don’t have the same training as doctors. Doctors had pre med, medical school, residency, attending, etc. and only a couple for the others.
This is my experience.
Also, I can also admit I’ve had some good NP that I’ve seen in urgent cares and such.

2024.05.15 08:11 Zanijin_ 2.3 Spoilers - Just another copium theory about 2.3

In light of all the doomposting and wariness about the future of Firefly in the story after the events of 2.0-2.2, I wanted to compile some known information to piece together a theory on why she is likely joining the express in 2.3, and hopefully sparking a positive conversation about it. Some things I will be referencing will be spoilers for 2.3 so if you'd like to remain completely spoiler free, I suggest avoiding this post. You have been warned.
So, before I begin with the 2.3 leaks, I'd first like to take a step back and look at the character as a whole. Firefly, in the short time she has been in the story has become immensely popular within the community, but beyond that she has also had quite an effect on the MC. Regardless of whatever ships you do and don't subscribe to and even the choices you make in game, it's undeniable that the MC has feelings/an attachment for our girl and that these are reciprocated by Firefly (Again, you are free to believe if these are romantic feelings or not, though I believe it leans toward the former). The MC choosing to trust in Firefly despite her initial secrecy in 2.0, Firefly willing to risk exposing herself as Sam (A known Stellaron Hunter and wanted criminal) to protect herself and the MC (This might be an over analysis on my part, but her clenching her fists while being held by "S-U-D" and showing hesitation rather than fear leads me to believe this is the case) during their initial encounter with "Something Unto Death", her identity as Sam being a well kept secret and one she is not eager to reveal to just anyone, her "death" by "Something Unto Death" bringing the MC to tears and causing them to become noticeably crestfallen, even to the point of getting snippy with Acheron. In the finale of 2.1 and beginning of 2.2, past the initial shock of Sam, they are understanding of Firefly's secrecy and even trust her when she mentions her "death" leading to her discovery of Dreamflux Reef and the secrets of the dream. In this same scene they even describe the MCs inner thoughts with the scene stating "Innumerable voices resonated through the symphony of the memoria, roaring like thunder, and among them, one echo stood out with exceptional clarity, you knew it came from the girl beside you, your hearts beating to the same rhythm, peaceful, and even more peaceful.". Of course there were also the two “dates” between the MC and Firefly. To a character with ELS, every moment spent out of her medical cabin is precious, and she chooses to spend those moments with the MC as Firefly, rather than Sam, a choice that can be seen as unnecessary past her initial purpose on Penacony with Elio's script, and during the second "date", despite the urgency of the situation and Firefly herself reminding the MC of their timer, she still goofs off with them during the different trials. Capping this off is her "unwavering dedication", which is what allowed Acheron and the others to find the MC after Ena's dream.
Now, I didn't write this massive text wall just to promote the MC x Firefly ship, instead I want to draw your attention specifically to the bond they've developed. Despite the short amount of time spent together, it's quite obvious that Mihoyo went out of their way to emphasize this connection. I know many people were disappointed with the scenes between the two in 2.2, specifically in regards to them MC not showing the desired reaction at the reveal of Firefly not only being alive, but also her identity as Sam. Though I too expected something more, I believe this was intentional on Hoyo's part as they are most likely saving the heart to heart for the one on one scene in 2.3. Having said all of this, I want you to ask yourself, what was the point of all of this? The other Stellaron Hunters have gotten nowhere near this amount of screentime or specifically developed such a strong bond with the MC, in fact, not even other characters like March, Dan Heng, Himeko or Welt are this close to the MC. Why write in a fake out death at all if this character wasn't important? Purely for shock factor? Why bother making her consistently close to the MC? (Most characters get a single patch to really interact with the MC, upon the release of 2.3, that would mark her third patch being relevant to the plot and interacting with the MC. This is a recurring thing across multiple Hoyoverse titles, think of Ayaka from Genshin as a prime example, a character which has largely fallen to the wayside and being relegated as a side character after her single patch).
The people at Mihoyo aren't amateur storytellers like some think they are, and I believe everything they've done is to make this connection seem all the more important for one reason. Firefly is going to join the express, her bond with the Trailblazer serving as the catalyst. She's said herself that she respects the Trailblaze and has even found herself resonating with their ideals. The events of 2.2 serve as evidence of this, with her being able to see Clockie (Though not much is known about him, it seems that as a Trailblaze entity, he is only able to be seen by those with a connection to the Trailblaze), and standing side by side with the Astral Express in their battle of beliefs against Sunday. Though I believe the trailblaze aspect plays a large choice, I'd also like to take a look at her script from Elio, which I believe to be a major piece of the puzzle. The script states she will experience three deaths on Penacony. Some people may argue that she has already experienced those three with the second being when she traveled with the MC to Dreamflux Reef and the third being related to what Acheron mentions at the end of 2.2. I don't believe traveling to Dreamflux Reef counts towards that death tally as it would actually make it four deaths, seeing as when she was first killed she awoke in her medical cabin, then later traveled to Dreamflux Reef. Following this, it's reasonable to say she's only experienced two so far, the initial death from being stabbed and from Acheron. I believe this third death is not a literal one. Death has a multitude of meanings beyond just dying/passing away. Using the Tarot as an example, death can also be used to describe a great change. I propose that this great change is the "death" of Stellaron Hunter Sam. Looking at the playable version of Firefly, an obvious change has taken place, that being the green energy that leaks out from within and the manifestation of Firefly's blades which could be seen as Firefly establishing more of herself within the identity of SAM. Beyond the changes to the SAM suit itself, I find it a little odd that they deliberately have Firefly walk around as herself in the overworld, rather than the suit, but I concede that this choice could just be so people can see the waifu that they pulled and might have no real significance. All of this is information that has already been revealed to us, whether directly through the events of the story, or the leaked gameplay of Firefly. Next I would like to discuss leaks that support this idea of Firefly joining the AE crew.
Many people believe that after the events of 2.3, the MC and Firefly will part ways, with Firefly going back to the Stellaron Hunters for a few planets. I don't believe this to be the case for two main reasons, the first being the new event in 2.3 and the second being the new BP icons. The event is said to be one in which we play games with Firefly, March, and Silverwolf, with Silverwolf mentioning that she could never get Firefly to play games with her, but Firefly accepts this time around because she is asked by the MC. Now, don't you find this lineup kind of strange? Specifically the presence of March 7th. If Firefly was departing Penacony after the story of 2.3, why would she show up in an event with the MC and March? It's not as if events in Star Rail aren't canon either, so it doesn't make sense for Firefly to be there if we are assuming that she is leaving during the epilogue of 2.3. I believe this is supported by her new BP icon in which she can be seen wearing a red, black, and gold outfit. These are exactly the colors of the express and other express members have icons which share this same color scheme. Even Sam's icon has red that is normally not present on his design. The description for the icon also states Firefly: Visionary, Firefly stepping forwards into the future "There is only one destiny, but I still have the right to make my choice". Sam's icon follows a similar format being titled Visionary and mentioning stepping forward into the future, with his quote stating "I will fulfill SAM's mission and see a new future". Of course BP icons don't have to mean anything and in most cases are just the characters in a different outfit, but doesn't this seem like a really strange choice? Firefly doesn't have red as part of her color scheme, so putting her in an outfit that is explicitly AE colors seems like a deliberate choice, not to mention the fact that the icon references her stepping forward into the future, or if you want to look at another way, blazing a trail to her new future. In addition to this, the word "Choice" has significance, especially if we have this Astral Express outfit to set the context. A stellaron hunter knows exactly how meaningless their choices are, yet Firefly is the only one who is defiant in regards to the script and her predetermined end. Not just her own end, but even in the missions she is given, she chooses to do things that can be seen as futile like actively choosing to not read certain parts of the script as to remain ignorant and potentially influence said script, even if the predetermined outcome inevitably comes to pass despite her "obstruction". With all of this it seems like a no brainer that she would join the group that is all about making your own choices, helping the people you want to help, and doing the things you want to do, not to mention the resources she would have access to in terms of potentially curing her illness as a member of the Astral Express, a respected group with many powerful allies and connections willing to assist, versus being in a criminal organization where she follows a script that may not have the ending she wants.
I know I just did a whole lot of yapping so I appreciate anyone taking the time to read the theories and speculations of a delusional fan huffing way too much copium. I truly believe there is merit to what I’m saying, but only time will tell if I hit the mark or if I should never come up with a theory again. Having said all that, I’d love to hear from the community what you all think about this, even if it’s in opposition to what I’m saying.

2024.05.15 08:11 Zestyclose-Range2552 Katie’s Inconsistent treatment towards the kids??

So, I’m binging the show and obviously am a little late to the game atp lol. I wanna do some deep reflection on Katie’s character and how she treats her kids.
What I’ve noticed throughout the first, second and now third seasons, is Katie’s inconsistency with the kids. She hates how Oliver has always been money obsessed and scheming for riches; she hated Taylor’s friends, the rich bfs, tried controlling everything and knocking her down a peg at every opportunity she had, but with Anna-Kat - it’s pretty much the opposite! She’s obsessed with helping her be apart of the “in crowd”, she tried to eliminate Franklin and get her close with those twins, then she obsessed over throwing the perfect get together for the “popular girls”, and is constantly trying to make play dates that expand her social circle and improve her popularity. I know Anna-Kat has been implied that she has OCD and is in special education, perhaps implications of being on the spectrum, but Katie just absolutely obsessed over the idea of her becoming popular and basically buying friendship from the popular kids. Meanwhile constantly shaming and judging the rich moms in her town because she’s projecting her fear of not belonging. It’s weird to me that she’s sooo controlling with her kids friends and dating life, not allowing them to be a part of the “rich” culture, but wants it for her youngest child. Am I overthinking this all? Is anyone else picking up on this? Does she hate the rich “culture” or does she cover it? Why pull two kids away whirled trying to encourage one kid to lean into it?
It makes me think of some negative parenting stereotypes: 1. Boy mom- no one is good enough for her baby boy. He will always be a baby in her eyes. Allowing him to mature, make money, have goals, etc. would mean he would eventually leave home and no longer need his mom. 2. Jealousy towards the oldest daughter. Katie is constantly reminding her how “popular she was” as a teen. Alluding to how active her s3x life was but judging her daughter for small things like minor PDA, Halloween costumes, etc . Demanding she dye her hair back when she dyed it blonde in the early season and basically saying she OWNED Taylor’s haibody. “Hating” every bf she ever had (worth mentioning how Katie was also seen doting over teen boys she claimed were attractive 🤢) and trying to run them all off or play mind games. Always meddling with her friendships in very intrusive ways. I could go on tbh. Lastly, 3. The Golden child. Anna-Kat. Despite causing trouble at school, being sneaky, manipulative, etc. she’s Katie’s “favorite child”. She always says how she is “just like her”. But is this really a good thing if she is constantly trying to get Taylor to be the complete opposite of who she was as a teen? Wouldn’t that mean she doesn’t like who she was or is? Could her treatment towards Taylor be fueled by jealousy from Taylor being who katie never really was? Was Katie actually “the coolest popular kid”? Or is this just a facade she’s portraying to justify her projecting, due to her internalized self-hatred?
I know, it’s just a TV show lol. None of it really matters in the grand scheme of things. But this is the stuff that keeps me up at night 😂 I’m constantly comparing my real life, my psychological knowledge and past experiences with the dynamics of TV show families. I can’t help but try to evaluate what’s realistic and what normal truly is or should be. 🤣🤣 and I guess that’s on growing up in a dysfunctional and abusive environment.

2024.05.15 08:05 Quirky-swaggurl-420 I have no idea where to work and my appearance doesn’t help, any advice??

Kind of long, but any advice or input would be greatly appreciated :)
I (22F) have been working in fast food/ retail since I was 17 and I’m finally ready to take that leap to leave my current job and find one that will help advance my career and give me at least some financial stability. I also live in NorCal for context (not sure if I’d be willing to move quite yet.) I’ve been at my current retail job since 2021 and was honestly just going to stay there until I was completely finished with college but I just received my AA and the current management im under is so difficult to work with and extremely offensive I can barely take it not to mention I’ve been in management for about 2 years now and have gone from at least 20hr a week (part time) to less than 10hr a week, less than some associates and they’re all 3 hour shifts so I’m not even allowed to take a 10min break though im not even sure if that’s legal??
I am very fortunate to not have to pay rent as I live with my parents and I only have to worry about paying for my car, gas, phone, school, necessity’s etc. So no rent is a life saver in this economy. With that being said I don’t necessarily need the highest paying job quite yet (willing to work my way up or gain helpful experience) though that would be ideal for anyone. I just want to be able to find something that fits with my personality/ needs and also doesn’t care the way I look. I know sometimes you have to do what u gotta do but I cannot take working somewhere I’m miserable at and I understand that is a privilege within itself so I’m just trying to use the time I do have to really find what I’m passionate about and not be scared to try new things.
I still want to go back to school to get my bachelors degree since it’s always been a dream of mine, but since I pretty much pay for everything out of pocket besides some degree of financial aide, I don’t want to just aimlessly transfer somewhere with no clue on what to study which has been my issues for some time. I feel like my interest haven’t changed much and neither have my dreams to further my education so I’ve pretty much been saying the same things since probably before high school and I still have no clue what exactly the direction is I should go. I would love to gain some first hang experience to know if getting my B.A. is even worth it for the field I want to go into or what major would benefit me the best.
I have many interests and ideas as to what I could possibly do but I feel like as much as I say them out loud no one really relates so I always feel alone or like there’s no possible job for me that I’ll feel happy in. I mean I think majority of people would rather not work and focus their lives on their hobbies and passions but unfortunately that’s not in the cards for most people and though I sometimes live in that dreamland that doesn’t change the fact that I’m extremely dedicated, hard-working and really want to make a difference in whatever field I end up in. So I guess I’ll leave a list of the things I’m interested in, in case anybody has some advice or input on any occupations I’ve listed or have experience in anything I’ve listed.
I guess another thing to mention is that I was recently applying to a lot of jobs in childcare and pretty much every interview I went to turn me down on the spot because of my appearance. Of course I hear the stories of looking less professional due to your tattoos, piercings, etc., which I never understand. I don’t even have a single tattoo or piercing, not even my ears, but I have bright pink hair and that has been such a downside for the interviewing processes, even some retail jobs like Box Lunch for example doesn’t accept colored hair when they’re literally a pop culture store and share the same company as Hot Topic. I don’t want to have to change my appearance for a job. I know it’s just hair but I was never able to express myself the way I wanted to and the amount of money and maintenance that goes with having colored hair would not be worth it to me to color black just to get a job. It would feel like I’m altering myself and changing something that makes me feel good about myself is unfair and already puts a bad taste in my mouth about the company because they are willing to look over my qualifications and work ethic due to one minor detail in my appearance. One of these jobs I even had two on the phone interviews that went amazing and was going to my final in person interview and was literally meeting with a family for a behavioral technician job and the first thing they (the company) told me was I would need to change my hair to even be considered and I had to eventually politely end the interview because they still wanted to me to meet a kid despite straight up telling me they will not hire me if I didn’t immediately change my hair… and I’d be working with a family, not even in a ‘ public setting.’ I would just love to be able to work in a community that embraces people for their differences for the way they express themselves, and encourages self expression.
Anyways, here are some of my interests and I’d be eternally grateful to hear any feedback! Maybe you’ve worked in some of these environments and have advice or horror stories, if you have similar interests to me let me know what kind of job you have because I’m sure I don’t even know the formal titles to half of these jobs, or even have other ideas that match my interests. Thank you thank you thank you!
TLDR: I have so many interests and have no idea where to go with my next steps in my career and schooling, and would love some advice based off of my interest and experience. My unnaturally colored hair gets me nowhere. My experience and interests are listed below.
My schooling/ experience so far: * 5 years of theatre under my belt (onstage/backstage/management) * Just graduated with my AA in Social & Behavioral Sciences (Random but was recommended to do so based on all of the same interest I told my counselor some odd years ago) * Most of my college classes were focused in sociology, psychology, and child development, which has been super interesting so I am willing to branch out from my interest because I did find a lot of interest in the classes I’ve taken previously. * Have worked in retail for four years; Pretty well received by people * A nanny to 4 kids (ages 4-16) for about 3.5 years as well
My personality: (not sure if this will help with knowing if I would be a good fit for any of the jobs listed )
i’m extremely bubbly and can have my extroverted moments, but I can also be introverted at times and when work needs to get done, I will figure out the best way to do it and get to work. I work pretty well with a team and always have ideas flowing and bouncing around, but I can also excel working on my own/have no issues being independent with my work. I don’t have a huge preference on a fast versus slow paced work environment. I would like something flexible, but I have no issue with getting into a routine. I feel like I am truly pretty flexible when it comes to my work environment, I just really want a place that I can express myself and be surrounded by a community of people similar to me. I love to be innovative and creative.
My interests/ ideas: (sorry kinda random and jumps around)
As you can see, most of my interest have to do with childcare and the arts, which are some of the lowest paying jobs/difficult fields to get into, but it’s what I most passionate about and what I can actually see myself being happy doing for a long time. i’m also not opposed to working in one certain field for a while and then branching out to something different or related further down the line, I just want to know what step I should take next so I’m not just floating around doing nothing and being/fill, I just want to know what step I should take next so I’m not just floating around doing nothing and being/feeling useless.
Thank you so much to anyone who responds with advice and kind words :)

2024.05.15 08:01 Savings-Pumpkin2919 Lesbian doctors, how do you manage?

Hi darlings! I’m a baby lesbian and pre-med student currently living in a pretty homophobic country. I’ve been dreaming of becoming a surgeon since I was like 12 and I really don’t see myself doing anything else.
I’ve known all my life that I liked girls, but I always secretly hoped I’d end up with a man just so that I could keep a good relationship with my family. But I’ve realized I could really never picture myself dating, let alone marrying a man. While I am happy to finally be honest with myself, I am also aware it’s not going to be easy. I’m pretty straight passing, but gossip is everyone’s favorite thing in here.
Lately I’ve had these terrible thoughts that no matter how good I do in school, how much I work, how much I dedicate myself to medicine, people (at least in my country) will never see past my sexuality. I fear they’ll avoid seeking my help and no hospital will ever agree to hire me. And what’s a doctor without patients? Moving to another country seems like my only choice, but I’m really not doing well with money and I have at least 10 more years of studying to do. I really don’t want to have to hide for all those years.
How do you guys manage? I really hope this question doesn’t come across as insensitive or insulting, and if it does I apologize, that was not my intention. I am genuinely worried about my future and I’d be so grateful to get some reassurance that my dream isn’t wrong.
Sending love to everyone!!

2024.05.15 07:58 Josephine_mark345 I did an experiment for school and go opposite results help

So I did an experiment for school. We needed to check if washed tomato seeds (without the jelly) grow faster than unwashed seeds. We checked on google and saw that the washed seeds should grow faster bc the jelly has germination inhibiting substances, but we got opposite results the unwashed seeds grew faster. We did the experiment with two tomatoes at the same time at the same place, we made them germinate in damp paper towels. Anyone have any idea what could’ve happened ?

2024.05.15 07:55 alienby I think I’m more anxious about finals than my students are

It’s currently 12:30 AM and at 8 AM I will begin my day of giving exams to all 6 of my classes. I’m an art teacher at a high school, and I can’t help but feel like my students are all about to fail.
The exams for 4 of my classes are pre-made, I teach the same curriculum as the other art teacher and I’m expected to use the same exams. The other two I get to make myself, so I’m less worried about students doing well on that test.
When it was time for midterms, my students STRUGGLED. I went over material with them before hand and did everything I could to prepare them, but the test was waaaay over their heads and I had to do a lot of adjusting. I thought if they did the study guide, which was made by the people who made the exam, they’d be fine- my mistake!
This time around I made my own study guides and tried my best to prepare these kids for the exams without just telling them the exact questions that would be on it. I looked over the test, found what I thought would be the best stuff to know, and compiled it all for these kids to study.
A week ago I told everyone the test was today and published the study guide. I also told them that they had to finish the study guide by Tuesday at 8 AM if they wanted to get graded on it before I posted the answer sheet. I told them every day to STUDY- and guess what? When I told them the study guide was closed and the test was the next day, I had students look at me like I had twelve heads. A majority of my students ignored the study guide and didn’t turn anything in.
I want them to do good, but a majority of these kids just don’t give a shit. They tell me every day through their actions and words. Same problems everyone has- extreme apathy, helplessness, and no interest in the subject at all. I went over the answers to the study guide in one of my classes and no one could even pretend to care. It’s impossible to get these kids to be quiet for a minute, let alone the amount of time I’d need to review for the test.
I know it’s out of my hands at this point, no amount of worrying is going to change the outcome. There will be at least one student who is shocked today when they realize it’s test time. I just hope by some miracle they do well. Thanks for giving me a space to be a nervous Nelly

2024.05.15 07:54 Quirky-swaggurl-420 I have no idea where to work and my appearance doesn’t help, any advice???
