We’ve just received our visa decision letter and it was a yes! It has been a long road and I thank everyone here for the great support you’ve offered, the posts that helped our application with both timelines and checklists, and lastly the super helpful people who answers questions and calm worries. We could not have done this without this subreddit.
As usual, a timeline from us:

• Visa type: Spousal Visa
• Application: Outside of the UK (Sweden)
• Priority: Yes
• Application date: 28th March
• Bio date: 9th April
• Solicitor: No
• Paid enquiry: 8th May
• Decision made and passport received: 13th May

We had a long wait for this one even with priority, but received no questions or asks for additional documents / proof.
I used some of the checklists folks provided here, and will give my own below:
Relationship: - Marriage certificate. - individual cover letter from both applicant and sponsor. - Pictures with each other and flight details. All dated. - Passports: All pictures of applicant’s passport pages, ID page of sponsor.
Employment of Sponsor: - 6 months payslips. - 6 months bank statements. - letter from employer confirming job. - Employment contract.
Accommodation: - Letter from landlord. - Tenancy agreement. - Evidence of payments already shown in bank statements. - Council tax form.
Additional requirements: - IELTS certificate. - We did not need a TB test due to country of origin.
I will still continue to battle for the changes made to the Visa requirements as I know some will not have been able to make the deadline. Do let me know if I can help in anyway, with questions or with support to calm nerves.

I just survived my worst year of teaching, and I wonder: Is this the norm at "nicer" schools?
I have taught in public schools for almost ten years. This year, I tried working at the "rich kids" school, as it is called around here, for the first time. I only knew Title 1, but this experience was so horrible that I managed to secure a transfer for next year.
First of all, some teachers run the whole school. While this sounds like a positive, it was actually hard to watch. A handful of teachers make all the decisions for the school.
The "team" that I work with has decided to bully me. At the beginning of the year, one of the teachers who run the school told me that I spoke with her in a disrespectful tone. I was kind of confused by the whole thing, and I tried to apologize. I never meant to be disrespectful. I am actually pretty nice... No one had ever said that I wasn't nice at work before, and I was new and looking for friends, and I just felt so lonely and horrible.
My teammates decided to retaliate against me. They give me looks, make snarky comments, spread rumors about me, and forget to include me in important conversations; it seems that "Google messes up and forgets" to share important docs with me, too, and everything I do gets relayed back to my boss. Since I never break any rules or do anything shady, the boss never seriously raises these complaints to me. I only recently found out about some of the times they complained about me. I am lucky that my boss likes me enough.
On my birthday, I took the day off because I was fatigued by the drama. But then, my coworkers and I planned a fun lesson, so I decided to cancel my day off. Unfortunately, my children caught strep throat for the second time, so I ended up having to put in for a sub in the end. I told them two days in advance that we would have to postpone the lesson. They actually went to the boss again and complained that I wasn't there for our "fun lesson." Oh, and for my birthday, they left me a warm soda on my desk.
They insist on having a "working lunch". Every day, they go to the break room and "work". It is about 90% talking about reality TV. I personally need a break, so I told everyone I was going to take my duty-free lunch. However, the ladies I work with told me, "I value my personal time too much" because I don't want to give up my lunch period.
They also plan very randomly. They don't have team-planning days; instead, every day is a planning day. They plan collaboratively during every conference period. Then, they plan after school for hours. I noticed that we spend hours together just planning.
I have little children and other responsibilities outside of school, so I can't stay past 4:30, which makes them MAD. They have sent me emails about it CC'd to my principal on times when I leave before they finish planning because of my after-school responsibilities, which my principal knows about and understands.
Unfortunately, the planning they do kind of sucks. We NEVER finish. Sometimes I wonder how its possible to not be done! We usually spend all this time making a Google Slide for the lesson. It is just depressing. I have developed anxiety around my conference period.
Over the summer, my kid broke his arm. I needed to take care of my kid. They were unreasonable and insisted on having a meal together before the school year started. Then, the lady who said I had a rude tone told me that I inconvenienced them that day by asking to make our lunch a dinner on a different day, even though they knew my kid had a broken arm (he was only 4 years old at the time).
Last week, I secured a new job, and I was kind of forced into telling them about it, and they managed to tell the whole school somehow. The only reason I told my team is that they wanted to bully me into taking the undesirable teaching position next year, and I thought it would be worse to lie to them.
I also can't plan my own intervention or reading groups because if I do, I am not being "collaborative". I have no outlet to be creative or have joy here. They insist that everyone use the same lesson plan doc and not differentiate it to fit the needs of the class. I tried to ask them if maybe I could plan one little area of it too, and they reminded me that they have been at this school for X number of years. So I stopped asking to participate and started to just go to our "collaborative plannings" and nod.
Did I mention that my principal is a chill and is actually really nice?
I don't get it. The kids here are top-notch, the parents are kind, and the principal is laid back. Why do people have to create problems?
I got my dream job. I am so happy to be leaving here for good.

I remember when the internet used to be seen as a convenience. This is no longer the case, and doing literally anything on it at this point is like pulling teeth. The entire internet has been redesigned to protect the absolute lowest common denominator, people who probably shouldn't even be able to use the internet in the first place. Types who will give blatant scammers typing in broken english all of their passwords, download random phishing files, etc. and instead of shaming them into learning, tech people have decided to destroy the internet.
Every single website has 2 factor, sometimes 3 or 4 factor authentication, you have to download individual apps for so many accounts, you constantly have to change passwords and make them increasingly "Unique", so it's genuinely impossible to keep track of them unless you keep a list, which just ends you back up at square one for security. I have four authentication apps on my phone, I've had to change my passwords on multiple student accounts sometimes 6 times a year, and since most website
Not only that but websites in general just do not function on a basic level, very frequently. I have been incredibly busy with job applications, scholarships, student loans, and registering for classes, and using every single website has been absolute torture. College board had a bug that blocked progress on sending SAT scores for 2 months, because it required me to click an option that didn't exist. Why did it take that long!? The PHEEA grant website (Which is extremely important) was literally "Under maintenance" for around a month, and I checked the website 3 times a day for that length. My student portal is littered with broken links, as was the last one I transferred from, and there are constant awful design decisions that clutter the website and make it incredibly difficult to navigate. There are 3 different passwords and 2 different authentication apps I've had to download to use it, and I forgot to write down my "alternative pin" which is, for a reason god himself only knows, the only way to register for classes, so now I have to call the IT department and recover it, because there isn't an option to do that. Why does this site need multiple passwords?? Why do I even need an "alternative pin"???
I just don't understand why this amazing miracle of technology has to be completely ruined to protect people who are probably going to accidentally walk into traffic or fall out of a window anyway. I don't want or need to have 3 different apps to authenticate student websites that a hacker might get into - what are they gonna do, pay my loans?? Register me for classes??? What is the point? Why do I have to spend several minutes going through apps and emails and my text messages to get into everything? Why are websites consistently broken or poorly designed and they take over a month to get fixed in almost every case?
I've adapted to this by exclusively calling places to place appointments, or figure out questions, just because the internet is so awful now. It doesn't feel even remotely reliable or convenient and the constant airtight security and 2 factor authentication on the website for something innocuous like the goddamned fucking Walmart site or my Student Loan account just makes me not want to log in in the first place. Honestly I feel like a boomer but it makes life so much easier. Has anyone else noticed this?

I get agonising cramps every month or so for 2 weeks before my period and I actually can't cope with this anymore, the pain is horrific, I can't stop crying, I can't walk and can barely sit up during them. They're so bad that it feels like its going to cause me to soil myself. I get irregular bleeding all the time and it makes me feel so gross on top of feeling the most needy, miserable person to be around when I'm in pain so much
I haven't been tested for endo yet because they don't believe me, I've demanded scans or pelvic exams, anything, and they tell me "they don't offer this here" or that it doesn't matter because I'm a trans man (born as female) so when I begin HRT it'll fix the problem and the diagnosis won't matter, but unfortunately for me, going on HRT feels like it might be never at this point because the waiting list is so long and I can't afford to go private right now
I lost my job earlier this year, been desperately looking for ANYTHING that will take me and even trying side hustles and startups, im even doing wedding photography for a family friend next week for the first time ever to make some income. (im a hobbiest photographer) i can't get any unemployment/benefits, my applications keep getting rejected so I actually can't even afford painkillers right now, even if ibuprofen helped with these pains, I can't afford it right now, I actually have 0 in my bank account. My partners paid for my painkillers and perscriptions and any sanitary products needed but he suddenly got let off his job a week ago too and he's struggling financially

I am currently a marketing analyst in financial services industry. It’s my first job out of college and I’ve been working in this role for two years.
70% of my work is monitoring publisher metrics and finding areas to optimize media for publishers in Clicks. A lot of times there is not much room to optimize media and even when I make recommendations to publisher account managers, they have to talk to publishers or other teams then they’ll decide if they want to take my recs.
There is a new team the company is building that focuses on re-engagement data such as SMS, Email, and Calls. An analyst there will focus more on making user experience better and conducting user behavior analysis rather than focusing on specific publisher accounts.
My current work has been the same for the past two years, but it’s a pretty chill job with not much pressure. The new team, however, is pretty fast paced with more pressure. I am considering to switch to the new team if working on re-engagement data would open up more opportunities when I want to switch jobs in e-commerce or retail in the future.
What is your advice on switching to the new team?

Some background, I was unemployed for 4 months because I had to leave my last job due to what happened to me. It's left me with very little trust and I went into a severe depression after what happened... so I know I'm not in the best mind frame.
I accepted an esthetics position almost an hour away from where I live. The position is in Westchester. Pay is $120 for the day, 20% on services and 10% on products. Okay, I felt that was decent. I only trained with her for 2 weeks at maybe 3 days a week because I have 12 years experience and she really needed me on the schedule. I was very excited to start, but felt uneasy after I had to sit and watch almost 5 facials 1 day, but whatever, she's type A control, methodical and I need a damn job.
I started taking clients and realized how inexpensive services are. $85 for a regular facial, $115 for a vitamin C peel, etc. My waxing services are also not that expensive. Mind you, my specialty is waxing, and she knows this. I was very disappointed and I felt that since I have a lot of experience, my services should be a little more. She has a tier system, and I was placed at tier 1. Tier 2, is the services range from $10- $20 more. On top of the obvious duties of performing services, we're also reception. So we do emails, phone calls, scheduling, check in/out, cleaning, inventory and stocking. Okay, fine. It's a lot but it is what it is. I also found a letter from the old employee I replaced saying she did not want to enter a contract with my employer to be placed up a tier. That definitely didn't sit well with me. No one should have to be contracted to receive a raise if they're doing good work.
Anyway, this lady has been saying she's increasing service prices and products... okay cool, maybe I'll start to get a little more mula and I'll stick with this as long as I can, because the commute isn't for me anymore but again, survival. We have our meeting for her to fill us in on pricing, she didn't necessarily say how much services were going up, but I'd venture to say anywhere from $10-$20...because anything more would be a massive jump. She's dropping our service commission. Instead of 20% we will all be at 18%. Then said that allows room for growth so maybe in a year we can go up to 19% and longer, 20%.
Thank God I called out because I would've kicked this woman in her camel and left. I was on the meeting via phone because I called out sick, and still did this fucking meeting. I've had it. I feel so disgusted and disrespected at this point by people in this industry. We're keeping our 10% on products which is also going up, but it doesn't sit right with me. Aside from the other 2 women I work with being there maybe 2 years...thats shitty. But as for me, a 12 year veteran wjth extensive knowledge and skill, who you have received nothing but amazing reviews about, who can do a Brazilian in less than 20 minutes with soft wax, who's trained on manzillians, who's absolutely killing products sales.... you fuckin selfish bitch. That's how I feel. I feel beyond betrayed and looked down. And I've just fucking had it.
And the woman has hyped us up about making more money for over 2 weeks... seriously

I am still looking for bootcamp, I have a job already but i am open to going into SWE.
My recruiter from my company denied my application, I do have minor scripting experiences as my job use it but most of my proposed projects or worked on project get denied in the end. I am only using my own scripts for my own uses these day for my work.
I work in tech and been there for 3.5 years, i work directly with applications, I do troubleshooting, server deployment, patching and maintenance in my job and a lot of calls in and out during my shift. my titles come in all kind of flavors and to the point i don't even know what i am at this point because it changed like 5-6 times while i was there while workload increase and shifted around.
So i am looking to get out of this job. I feel bootcamp help me more overall, than a CS degree (i do have BSC). I don't want to do web development, I want to focus on backend since i know python, SQL, and C++ (all very basic) and have my own lab.
I been learning through udemy and freecoding camp and w3school through out last couple years but i am all over the places that is why i need a bootcamp to keep my on track and make things click.
So my questions to you all is:
Anyone know any good bootcamp that is NOT focus on web development or mobile app. I want something down on backend as well, or even devops i guess will work (i took Cisco Devnet already, note i have bunch of entry IT certs, I am thinking aimming)
My goals are:

1. non-web/mobile app bootcamp
2. preferable university accredited (mainly because i can get reimbursement)
3. Under 10,000
4. Can be done within 10-12 week full time or 20 weeks part-time.

I been looking around found a few good candidate but haven't decide yet.
Please keep the discussion to which bootcamp is good or bad, and don't have to advise me on "get a CS degree", i do have IT experiences in a large tech company.

First email I received regarding the GS 7:

Second email I received regarding the GS 9:

I don’t really understand this. Am I still in consideration? And why for a GS 9 but not GS 7 when it has lower qualifications.

I am 26 with a BS in IO psychology, my problem is I've never had steady employment. After I graduated I sent out my applications to everywhere that I could apply to but the only one that called back was the local city's wastewater maintenance. After 6 months of that and several nights in Florida heat thinking it over I went back to college for certification and worked on some prerequisites for dental hygiene but was denied because I didn't have a background in dental assisting. Right now I feel burnt out and tired, I got accepted into a dental assisting program but a part of me wants to give up and just find any job that will pay better than 17 dollars an hour. I just feel defeated especially having to live with my parents and doing everything that said to do, get a BS degree, go into medicine, and it all just went to shit. I just want advice, what are some jobs I can study for a couple of weeks or will do paid training and will pay enough for rent? For context, I live in Florida.

Hi, so there was an opportunity(when I was younger I was under 18) (art job related with only an email was given, mind you I found this out through reddit so I was just checking if this email was legit since it had a legit person's name on it but I couldn't find them using this email(so for safety reasons, I did this), turns out the email was legit, don't know if they use it at the time). Me being stupid sent like 6 emails in total asking in a polite manner if the job was still open over the course of 2 months(like I sent 6 emails over the actual course of 2 months, not daily tho). My intention was good I wanted to make sure it was a legit email being used. One of these emails contained my resume a profile picture. Come to find out after they announced it, that the job had been filled way before I sent my first email(they hadn't announced it so only people that worked there and the person who got the job knew).Looking back I would never do this now as I know how to properly reach out about opportunities. Now I think i'm blacklisted from this art industry....

Hey there not too sure if people feel this way. But recently (last year), I was married to the love of my life. She is capable, understanding and a hardworking person.

I’m 23 years old and I just graduated college last year. my employment history is honestly pretty shitty. I have a lot of short stints at jobs that make me look really flaky to a potential employer.
I currently work as an administrative assistant at a really large national financial services firm and I pretty much lied about everything that you could imagine on my résumé. (I added a year and a half of experience to my college internship. I changed a job title from receptionist to HR assistant and said that I was still working there when I applied to my current job, even though it was a seasonal position and it had ended three months prior.) I know lying is bad but my family doesn’t financially support me and I needed to make rent so I did what I thought I had to do to get a job.
When it came time for me to do the background check, I had to fill out an employment verification form so instead of filling out the dates and job titles that I put on my résumé I just filled out the truthful dates and positions. I was able to pass the background check without any major hiccups, and they offered me the role. (I should add that this was a very intense background check because it was for a financial services institution. I’m talking 10 year employment verification check, credit check, criminal background check and a drug test.)
I’ve been at my current job for about five months and it’s nothing like I imagined. The workload is really intense and although I think I’m gaining soft skills, I don’t think any of the hard skills I’m learning here will be applicable to any of the fields I would ideally like to go into. My boss is also kind of a creep and really rude.
I really want to find another job, but since I’ve only been here for five months, I feel like I need to lie again on my resume.
My question is, was it a fluke that I was able to pass such intense of a background check or could I get away with lying about my dates of employment again?
