2024.05.16 05:17 goosewoman Finally got a job after 8 months unemployed… How to deal with debt?

Just landed a new job and locked in a pricey lease, now grappling with debt repayment. Considering selling my car to free up $6k annually for debt payoff. Any advice on tackling my financial situation would be a huge help!
Had to relocate nearer to Toronto for a hybrid role. I've endured some rough living situations post-breakup and multiple moves in the past year. Prioritizing mental well-being in a more comfortable environment is non-negotiable for me so I got my own place for $2550. I need to make adjustments as my income is lower than I am used to and have a lot of debt. I’ve spent a stupid amount on my rescue dog’s health issues over the past two years (~20k) and being off of work has lead to unfortunate credit line debt.
Moving to Mimico (Parklawn/Lakeshore) with decent transit options (20 min walk to go station, 1 min to streetcar, 5 min drive/$10 Uber to subway). Only need to commute to work at blooyonge twice a week. Bought my 2018 Toyota Corolla for $26,000, still owe $19,000, but could possibly sell for $19k. Would love to keep the car for quicker transit access and easier vet/dogsitter visits, plus family trips to Niagara, but all manageable with transit/Uber. It also feels like a waste of $6k selling it, but I don’t have a lot of options for cutting spending…
Salary: $95k = $5500 monthly after-taxes
Monthly Expenses: Rent: $2550 Utilities: $150 Dog: $250 Car Payment: $250 Insurance: $150 Gas: $100 Transit: $100 Line of Credit Interest: $250 Cell: $40 Total:$3840
Remaining (not including food or fun): $1,660
Debt: LOC (8% interest): $25,000 Student loans: $50,000 (no payments for 5 months, on RAP)
Edit:
Oh also my company will match RRSP contributions 4% without me adding any, and another 2% if I contribute 6%… Not sure if making contributions makes sense right now given my debt situation…

2024.05.16 05:15 RequirementNew269 How many triptans is actually too much?

I wasn’t told about triptan overuse when I went from 2-25MMD and took 17-30 triptans a month for 3 months.
Then my pcp told me about rebounds and MOH. I’ve since started a preventative and tried to get 3 more preventative scripts that have all been denied by insurance. (I’m working through the meds & processes)
I’m convinced triptan overuse has given me (hopefully semi) permanent migraine damage and have been trying to be VERY careful about taking them. (I do have a history of migraines and my mother has been daily chronic since my age)
For 2 months I have not taken them more than 3 days in a row. But 50% of the time I have to take them 2-3 days in a row. The longest time I go between triptan doses is 3 days, but it’s mostly 2 days. (I have yet to get a four day break) I’m still in pain during those days but try not to take a triptan. (Or ibuprofen in case that’s causing MOH) from what I’ve read- this is generally the Triptan requirements to have a better chance at preventing MOH
My doctor sent a neurologist referral to a few neuros I researched with headache fellowships but it will likely be months until I get in.
I said something like, “I don’t think I am getting rebounds because I know what they were like before I started being conservative- and it seems different.” She just responded with, “I’m certain if you are taking 9 doses a month that you are getting rebounds and might need to go through a withdrawal period that will be uncomfortable”
What is your experience with rebounds? From what I have read, rebounds are pretty mandatory after 10+ doses but I didn’t think 9 would “certainly” give me rebounds too.
Has anyone actually done a “triptan withdrawal” while chronic with 25+ MMD? What was that like?
Ubrelvy worked for 2 weeks and then didn’t but I havnt taken it in maybe 4 months and was desperate during a period migraine and took it in addition to a triptan on my 3rd consecutive triptan day & it did seem to help. I asked her for another ubrelvy script but that might take a week because I’m currently trying to scam my way into a cgrp preventative and insurance doesn’t want to pay but has an abortive limit on nurtec for 18pills in 24 days so I’m thinking I could get that covered over the emaglity they denied (ubrelvy was approved easily and quickly) but I have to go through that before picking up ubrelvy because they def won’t give me nurtec in the same month as ubrelvy.
To clarify why I don’t think they are rebounds- MOH felt like a 3-4 level dull headache that pop up 24hrs after dose and persist for 24+ hrs while these feel like I might have a rebound for a day and I don’t take anything for it, then it passes, and then I’ll get new pain that comes with light sensitivity, smell sensitivity, nausea, brain fog, dizziness, and gross motor difficulty- which is a migraine and because 75% of my migraines used to last 5+ days, I will take a triptan to hopefully abort it.

2024.05.16 05:13 Crafty_Money_8136 How much work do I need in my portfolio to seek an apprenticeship?

Ive always been into drawing and i’ve been thinking about going into tattoo for a long time. I drew around 5 pieces, 2 full page portraits and then some lettering in tattoo style three years ago when I was 18/19. Life caught up with me and I stopped drawing for a while. Now I’m about to finish my college degree and thinking about my career. Everything I’ve learned about tattoo is appealing to me. I really want to pursue it seriously but I don’t know if my small portfolio is enough to start showing to tattoo shops. All I have are those five pieces, and another full page portrait I’m working on now. My style and talent haven’t changed much in those 3 years bc I haven’t been drawing. And my first 5 pieces were in pencil but I’m doing this new one in ballpoint pen. But those are the only portfolio pieces I have, everything else I have to show for myself is from when I was an art student in high school and those aren’t tattoo style pieces.

2024.05.16 05:13 LennoxPrepice I got into a motorcycle accident doing door dash

I owe $1400 to a debt collector lawyer company and they sent me a letter to get it notarized saying that I must pay them this amount. It’s a shame my motorcycle insurance company doesn’t cover it and door dashes insurances affiliated insurance company only covers personal injury. I already paid them $100. Should I pay the rest in installments? What happens if I don’t pay? Will they garnish my paychecks? I just got a job as a security officer.

2024.05.16 05:06 MirkWorks Excerpt from The Culture of Narcissism by Christopher Lasch (Changing Modes of Making It: From Horatio Alger to the Happy Hooker)

III. Changing Modes of Making It: From Horatio Alger to the Happy Hooker

From “Self-Culture” to Self-Promotion through “Winning Images”
In the nineteenth century, the ideal of self-improvement degenerated into a cult of compulsive industry. P.T. Barnum, who made a fortune in a calling the very nature of which the Puritans would have condemned (“Every calling, whereby God will be Dishonored; every Calling whereby none but the Lusts of men are Nourished: …every such Calling is to be Rejected”), delivered many times a lecture frankly entitled “The Art of Money-Getting,” which epitomized the nineteenth-century conception of worldly success. Barnum quoted freely from Franklin but without Franklin’s concern for the attainment of wisdom or the promotion of useful knowledge. “Information” interested Barnum merely as a means of mastering the market. Thus he condemned the “false economy” of the farm wife who douses her candle at dusk rather than lighting another for reading, not realizing that the “information” gained through reading is worth far more than the price of the candles. “Always take a trustworthy newspaper,” Barnum advised young men on the make, “and thus keep thoroughly posted in regard to the transactions of the world. He who is without a newspaper is cut off from his species.”
Barnum valued the good opinion of others not as a sign of one’s usefulness but as a means of getting credit. “Uncompromising integrity of character is invaluable.” The nineteenth century attempted to express all values in monetary terms. Everything had its price. Charity was a moral duty because “the liberal man will command patronage, which the sordid, uncharitable miser will be avoided.” The sin of pride was not that it offended God but that it led to extravagant expenditures. “A spirit of pride and vanity, when permitted to have full sway, is the undying cankerworm which gnaws the very vitals of a man’s worldly possessions.”
The eighteenth century made a virtue of temperance but did not condemn moderate indulgence in the service of sociability. “Rational conversation,” on the contrary, appeared to Franklin and his contemporaries to represent an important value in its own right. The nineteenth century condemned sociability itself, on the grounds that it might interfere with business. “How many good opportunities have passed, never to return, while a man was sipping a ‘social glass’ with his friends!” Preachments on self-help now breathed the spirit of compulsive enterprise. Henry Ward Beecher defined “the beau ideal of happiness” as a state of mind in which “a man [is] so busy that he does not know whether he is or is not happy.” Russell Sage remarked that “work has been the chied, and you might say, the only source of pleasure in my life.”
Even at the height of the Gilded Age, however, the Protestant ethic did not completely lose its original meaning. In the success manuals, the McGuffey readers, the Peter Parley Books, and the hortatory writings of the great capitalists themselves, the Protestant virtues - industry, thrift, temperance - still appeared not merely as stepping-stones to success but as their own reward.
The spirit of self-improvement lived on, in debased form, in the cult of “self-culture” - proper care and training of mind and body, nurture of the mind through “great books,” development of “character.” The social contribution of individual accumulation still survived as an undercurrent in the celebration of success, and the social conditions of early industrial capitalism, in which the pursuit of wealth undeniably increased the supply of useful objects, gave some substance to the claim that “accumulated capital means progress.” In condemning speculation and extravagance, in upholding the importance of patient industry, in urging young men to start at the bottom and submit to “the discipline of daily life,” even the most unabashed exponents of self-enrichment clung to the notion that wealth derives its value from its contribution to the general good and to the happiness of future generations.
The nineteenth-century cult of success placed surprisingly little emphasis on competition. It measured achievement not against the achievements of others but against an abstract ideal of discipline and self-denial. At the turn of the century, however, preachments on success began to stress the will to win. The bureaucratization of the corporate career changed the conditions of self-advancement; ambitious young men now had to compete with their peers for the attention and approval of their superiors. The struggle to surpass the previous generation and to provide for the next gave way to a form of sibling rivalry, in which men of approximately equal abilities jostled against each other in competition for a limited number of places. Advancement now depended on “will-power, self-confidence, energy, and initiative” - the qualities celebrated in such exemplary writings as George Lorimer’s Letters from a Self-Made Merchant to His Son. ” By the end of the nineteenth century,” writes John Cawelti in his study of the success myth, “self-help books were dominated by the ethos of sales-manship and boosterism. Personal magnetism, a quality which supposedly enabled a man to influence and dominate others, became one of the major keys to success.” In 1907, both Lorimer’s Saturday Evening Post and Orison Swett Marden’s Success magazine inaugurated departments of instruction in the “art of conversation,” fashion, and “culture.” The management of interpersonal relations came to be seen as the essence of self-advancement. The captain of industry gave way to the confidence man, the master of impressions. Young men were told that they had to sell themselves in order to succeed.
At first, self-testing through competition remained almost in-distinguishable from moral self-discipline and self-culture, but the difference became unmistakable when Dale Carnegie and then Norman Vincent Peale restated and transformed the tradition of Mather, Franklin, Barnum, and Lorimer. As a formula for success, winning friends and influencing people had little in common with industry and thrift. The prophets of positive thinking disparaged “the old adage that hard work alone is the magic key that will unlock the door to our desires.” They praised the love of money, officially condemned even by the crudest of Gilded Age materialists, as a useful incentive. “You can never have riches in great quantities,” wrote Napoleon Hill in this Think and Grow Rich,” unless you can work yourself into a white heat of desire for money.” The pursuit of wealth lost the few shreds of moral meaning that still clung to it. Formerly the Protestant virtues appeared to have an independent value of their own. Even when they became purely instrumental, in the second half of the nineteenth century, success itself retained moral and social overtones, by virtue of its contribution to the sum of human comfort and progress. Now success appeared as an end in its own right, the victory over your competitors that alone retained the capacity to instill a sense of self-approval. The latest success manuals differ from earlier ones - even surpassing the cynicism of Dale Carnegie and Peale - in their frank acceptance of the need to exploit and intimidate others, in their lack of interest in the substance of success, and in the candor with which they insist that appearances - “winning images - count for more than performance, ascription for more than achievement. One author seems to imply that the self consists of little more than its “image” reflected in others’ eyes. “Although I’m not being original when I say it, I’m sure you’ll agree that the way you see yourself will reflect the image you portray to others.” Nothing succeeds like the appearance of success.
<The American Religion by Harold Bloom (California Orphism)>
The Apotheosis of Individualism
The fear that haunted the social critics and theorists of the fifties - that rugged individualism had succumbed to conformity and “love-pressure sociability” - appears in retrospect to have been premature. In 1960, David Riesman complained that young people no longer had much social “presence,” their education having provided them not with “a polished personality but [with] an affable, casual, adaptable one, suitable to the losing organizations of an affluent society.” It is true that “a present-oriented hedonism,” as Riseman went on the argue, has replaced the work ethic “among the very classes which in the earlier stages of industrialization were oriented toward the future, toward distant goals and delayed gratification.” But this hedonism is a fraud; the pursuit of pleasure disguises a struggle for power. Americans have not really become more sociable and cooperative, as the theorists of other-direction and conformity would like us to believe; they have merely become more adept at exploiting the conventions of interpersonal relations for their own benefit. Activities ostensibly undertaken purely for enjoyment often have the real object of doing others in. It is symptomatic of the underlying tenor of American life that vulgar terms for sexual intercourse also convey the sense of getting the better of someone, working him over, taking him in, imposing your will through guile, deception, or superior force. Verbs associated with sexual pleasure have acquired more than the usual overtones of violence and psychic exploitation. In the violent world of the ghetto, the language of which now pervades American society as a whole, the violence associated with sexual intercourse is directed with special intensity by men against women, specifically against their mothers. The language of ritualized aggression and abuse reminds those who use it that exploitation is the general rule and some form of dependence the common fate, that “the individual,” in Lee Rainwater’s words, “is not strong enough or adult enough to achieve his goal in a legitimate way, but is rather like a child, dependent on others who tolerate his childish maneuvers”; accordingly males, even adult males, often depend on women for support and nurture. Many of them have to pimp for a living, ingratiating themselves with a woman in order to pry money from her; sexual relations thus become manipulative and predatory. Satisfaction depends on taking what you want instead of waiting for what is rightfully yours to receive. All this enters everyday speech in language that connects sex with aggression and sexual aggression with highly ambivalent feelings about mothers.
In some ways middle-class society has become a pale copy of the black ghetto, as the appropriation of its language would lead us to believe. We do not need to minimize the poverty of the ghetto or the suffering inflicted by whites on blacks in order to see that the increasingly dangerous and unpredictable conditions of middle-class life have given rise to similar strategies for survival. Indeed the attraction of black culture for disaffected whites suggests that black culture now speaks to a general condition, the most important feature of which is a widespread loss of confidence in the future. The poor have always had to live for the present, but now a desperate concern for personal survival, sometimes disguised as hedonism, engulfs the middle class as well. Today almost everyone lives in a dangerous world from which there is little escape. International terrorism and blackmail, bombings, and hijackings arbitrarily affect the rich and poor alike. Crime, violence, and gang wars make cities unsafe and threaten to spread to the suburbs. Racial violence on the streets and in the schools creates an atmosphere of chronic tension and threatens to erupt at any time into full-scale racial conflict. Unemployment spreads from the poor the white-collar class, while inflation eats away the savings of those who hoped to retire in comfort. Much of what is euphemistically known as the middle class, merely because it dresses up to go to work, is now reduced to proletarian conditions of existence. Many white-collar jobs require no more skill and pay even less than blue-collar jobs, conferring little status or security. The propaganda of death and destruction, emanating ceaselessly from the mass media, adds to the prevailing atmosphere of insecurity. Far-flung famines, earthquakes in remote regions, distant wars and uprisings attract the same attention as events closer to home. The impression of arbitrariness in the reporting of disaster reinforces the arbitrary quality of experience itself, and the absence of continuity in the coverage of events, as today’s crisis yields to a new and unrelated crisis tomorrow, adds to the sense of historical discontinuity - the sense of living in a world in which the past holds out no guidance to the present and the future has become completely unpredictable.
Older conceptions of success presupposed a world in rapid motion, in which fortunes were rapidly won and lost and new opportunities unfolded every day. Yet they also presupposed a certain stability, a future that bore some recognizable resemblance to the present and the past. The growth of bureaucracy, the cult of consumption with its immediate gratifications, but above all the severance of the sense of historical continuity have transformed the Protestant ethic while carrying the underlying principles of capitalist society to their logical conclusion . The pursuit of self-interest, formerly identified with the rational pursuit of gain and the accumulation of wealth, has become a search for pleasure and psychic survival. Social conditions now approximate the vision of republican society conceived by the Marquis de Sade at the very outset of the republican epoch. In many ways the most farsighted and certainly the most disturbing of the prophets of revolutionary individualism, Sade defended unlimited self-indulgence as the logical culmination of the revolution in property relations - the only way to attain revolutionary brotherhood in its purest form. By regressing in his writings to the most primitive level of fantasy, Sade uncannily glimpsed the whole subsequent development of personal life under capitalism, ending not in revolutionary brotherhood but in a society of siblings that has outlived and repudiated its revolutionary origins.
Sade imagined a sexual utopia in which everyone has the right to everyone else, where human beings, reduced to their sexual organs, become absolutely anonymous and interchangeable. His ideal society thus reaffirmed the capitalist principle that human beings are ultimately reducible to interchangeable objects. It also incorporated and carried to a surprising new conclusion Hobbes’s discovery that the destruction of paternalism and the subordination of all social relations to the market had stripped away the remaining restraints and the mitigating illusions from the war of all against all. In the resulting state of organized anarchy, as Sade was the first to realize, pleasure becomes life’s only business - pleasure, however, that is indistinguishable from rape, murder, unbridled aggression. In a society that has reduced reason to mere calculation, reason can impose no limits on the pursuit of pleasure - on the immediate gratification of every desire no matter how perverse, insane, criminal, or merely immoral. For the standards that would condemn crime or cruelty derive from religion, compassion, or the kind of reason that rejects purely instrumental applications; and none of these outmoded forms of thought or feeling has any logical place in a society based on commodity production. In his misogyny, Sade perceived that bourgeois enlightenment, carried to its logical conclusions, condemned even the sentimental cult of womanhood and the family, which the bourgeoisie itself had carried to unprecedented extremes.
At the same time, he saw that condemnation of “woman-worship” had to go hand in hand with a defense of woman’s sexual rights - their right to dispose of their own bodies, as feminists would put it today. If the exercise of that right in Sade’s utopia boils down to the duty to become an instrument of someone else’s pleasure, it was not so much because Sade hated women as because he hated humanity. He perceived, more clearly than the feminists, that all freedoms under capitalism come in the end to the same thing, the same universal obligation to enjoy and be enjoyed. In the same breath, and without violating his own logic, Sade demanded for women the right “fully to satisfy all their desires” and “all parts of their bodies” and categorically stated that “all women must submit to our pleasure.” Pure individualism thus issued in the most radical repudiation of individuality. “All men, all women resemble each other,” according to Sade; and to those of his countrymen who would become republicans he adds this ominous warning: “Do not think you can make good republicans so long as you isolated in their families the children who should belong to the republic alone.” The bourgeois defense of privacy culminates - not just in Sade’s thought but in the history to come, so accurately foreshadowed in the very excess, madness, infantilism of his ideas - in the most thoroughgoing attack on privacy; the glorification of the individual, in his annihilation.

2024.05.16 05:06 Help_this_dummy NWM - I know, but a little different situation...but you tell me?

I'm in my early 40s and looking for a complete career change. I had the opportunity to get all my licenses with very little experience and production over the past few years (6, 7, 65, 63, insurance while working within a small firm). I'm in the process of finding out more information, but the reviews here are brutal. I'm in a completely different field (160K salary) and I am just wiped out. I'm newer to the industry but certainly not new in terms of work.
I'm not some eager graduate looking for work, and asking me for 200 close contacts would be an easy "No thank you". Do I even go to this in person meet and greet/interview?

2024.05.16 05:05 Nucleus24 Ahslands Update: New item list, but spoiler free, for storage planning?

I have an unhealthy obsession with organizing storage. I've built a big Silo structure at our home base, and everything there is sorted into chests by name, alphabetically. Some things get multiple chests (wood is a good example). In all, its been a huge hit for everyone in the server because everything people need is easy to find, and when they want to drop something off for storage they just put it in the donation chests for me to organize.
I'm caught between my desire to avoid all spoilers, and my desire to not have to re-build my silo more than once. Expanding the structure is quite difficult, so is reorganizing things because of new items.
Is there a way that I can find a list of all new items, but perhaps only the first letter of the item name? If any of the new items are things that you want or could have multiple chests of (for example, a new common wood type), that would also be useful information. I'm going to have to expand the silo's diameter, and I'm hoping that I won't have to re-build or re-organize it more than I have to.
I thought about looking at the wiki for an item list, but I don't think it's complete and I also am afraid of spoilers.

2024.05.16 05:04 gpowell31 HELP: United Refusing to Approve/ Reprocess Claims

United denied 4 claims in 2022 because they didn’t have a pre-authorization letter from my doctor confirming the medically-necessary frequency of my infusions I receive for my chronic illness. My doctor sent a letter confirming I need the infusions every 4 weeks, so United covered 2/4 infusions in early 2023. The bill for the “uncovered” infusions totaled over $12,000.
In October 2023, I got a call from the provider that the outstanding bills will soon be sent to collections. I was in contact with United for months trying to figure out why only 2 infusions were covered. The claims were reprocessed multiple times but were denied each time. EOB didn’t explain much and the customer service reps had no clue why they kept getting denied, so I my case got sent to a supervisor at headquarters.
In April 2024, I sent the supervisor the same document my doctor sent to United in 2023 (which got the other 2 infusions covered) for reprocessing of the 2 denied claims. The supervisor confirmed that United now had everything they needed to reprocess (and likely cover) the claims, and that reprocessing wouldn’t take long.
Today I got a call from collections. After over an hour on the phone, and after checking the United Health portal, the claims were in fact never reprocessed and United now says I owe over $24,000 (~$12,000 was the original “bill”).
I am thankfully no longer covered by United. However, since I no longer have my plan through United, they are only able to reprocess disputed claims until 6 months after the policy end date (June 1 is the 6-month mark).
Tomorrow I plan to call my state’s Department of Insurance, but I’m not sure how much that’ll actually do…
Do I get a lawyer? I’m in my 20s and CANNOT take on this debt. Please help… thanks in advance.

2024.05.16 05:04 No_Project_7279 Overpayment

I received a letter stating that I need to repay SSI benefits. However, I am a disabled adult who receives my mom's retirement benefits. I don't qualify for SSI because I make too much, but I already informed them about this. I think this issue arose when I had to reapply for Apple health insurance and had to submit my W2s, which may have caused confusion. I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

2024.05.16 05:03 Standard_Material335 I found another full-time job shortly after being fired for not passing my probationary period due to performance reasons, do I still have to certify every week that I have worked full-time?

Should I still certify every week stating that I have worked more than 30 hours on the questionnaire? Should I answer the last question "Have you returned to work?" with "Yes"? Will doing so invalidate my current claim that started on April 2024 and make it "inactive" or something? Or will my claim still be active until the benefit year end date of around April 2025, so if I were to lose my new full-time job for some reason, I may still go back to my old claim?
Can I only resume my previous claim if I lose my new full-time job for the same qualifying reasons as if it were my first claim, i.e. laid off, terminated for performance reasons, job was eliminated, etc.? How should I handle a situation where I leave my new full-time job shortly after starting because I have another job opportunity that I'm more interested in, but that opportunity falls through (e.g., they never send the offer letter or the start date is delayed)? If I end up out of work, can I still go back to my original claim from April 2024, even if I quit my new full-time job for these reasons?
TLDR if too many questions: I have found another full-time job shortly after losing one and have successfully submitted an approved claim lasting until April 2025. Will I have to continue certifying every week I have worked full-time at this new job or just pause my certifications and if I do so, will I not be able to go back to my previous successfully submitted and approved claim because of this? Will I only be able to go back to it if I leave my new full-time job for any of the same reasons that qualified me for my first claim?

2024.05.16 05:03 PlatformRelative6469 Me F (20) and my boyfriend M (19) having major issues. I feel drained and there is resentment building up overtime.

So just recently I had to leave my job. I was a cleaner for a company who never valued me and I felt like I was back at high school. I was getting bullied all the time, she put me on schedule for 12 hour shifts on top of that I had college classes after work. I was normally working 8am to 7pm and I couldn't find any work and my boss was talking to me one day and basically body shamed me and called me a terrible worker. I got so fed up I quit without notice. I couldn't stand going home crying everyday from being exhausted and drained from so much negativity. I thankfully had some money from my birthday and then money I saved but it was only enough for one month. I normally help my mom with 800 a month, and my phone 90$ a month, my car 441$ a month and then just gas and groceries. so I'm trying to find something on the side to do like maybe DoorDash or anything just to get money coming until I find another one. I made pretty good money but it wasn't enough. And then I ask my man if he could help me with my car insurance and he says yeah I got my own priority's so no. I always help him with gas money, I give him money for food I'm always giving him money. I literally was being a sugar mommy to him when I did have a job. He never had money. He always spent his paychecks and never had enough for gas until his next paycheck and it was a cycle over and over. And when he quit his job I helped him with everything and told him to not worry. But now when I'm in this situation he's not there. He told me he hast to pay for school, insurance, phone bill, and gas. He spent have insurance for his car and he hasn't for 3 months and hasn't made that a priority unless I need something. He hasn't been in school. He has a fine he hast to pay bo he got dropped from his classes, another thing he hasn't been worried about at all. And then he already payed his phone bill this month so l was confused. His last paycheck he went to the mall and bought a new Xbox controlle chain, a watch, and then went and got his hair done fu 150. let me remind u l'm upset bc I help this man out like I'm his mother. If I didn't help him out so much I wouldn't care what he does with his money. But the fact that I struggled and made him #1 priority when he needed it on top of what I had to do and now he's treating me like this when I need help is making me not want to be with him. but he told me it's my fault I quiet and I did this to myself and I could have worked there until I found another job and it's not his problem. Pleas someone give me there honest opinion on how you would feel if this was you or what I should do going forward. And let me tell u he just payed his moms car bill for her right before my b day so he couldn't get me anything for my birthday. But that's a whole other story. I'm just frustrated and need some guidance. I would like to hear other people's thoughts on this because I'm starting to feel defeated

2024.05.16 05:00 TheRealWhiteChoco Are we sure _________ is the winner?

After tonight's episode, it seems that again the consensus here is that Kenzie wins. I can 100% see it: she aligns with a lot of the themes in the season, she has a very carefully-crafted edit, very likeable with a lot of positivity, and we hear from her a lot even when we don't need to.
...but I think this subreddit as a whole is ready to christen her, perhaps because we want to see her win over milquetoast nerd narrator, when Charlie in no way should be eliminated right now. I guess I'll go against the grain and make the case for Charlie to keep things interesting:
1) Charlie these past few episodes has hit consistent strategic themes about having options, being adaptable, and ultimately playing to win. Last week, this looked a bit hypocritical as Q stayed and Venus went home. This week, we see Charlie honor these themes by taking out Q, betraying his ally Maria (who admittedly was also betraying him), and "playing to win." We got the big crescendo in the music at the reward after his letters from home. The other players left in the game have not really had the same consistency. Focusing on Kenzie specifically, a lot of her content has centered around wanting Q out. Now, this in of itself isn't a bad thing given that Q is basically the season's big bad, and in the bitter jury/social winner theory that's been circling around, this could explain why a jury would be more willing to vote for Kenzie over Charlie. But, this episode was basically presented as Charlie's move. It wasn't Kenzie and co. convincing Charlie to flip. It was Charlie himself building up social connections (tying back into his themes) and making a move when the time was right. It almost stands in stark contrast to last week's episode, when we see Kenzie and Venus try to flip Charlie and fail, versus this week when it's portrayed more as an individualistic move from him and not the result of Kenzie building a social bond.
2) Charlie's win conditions. Last week, he said he needs to get out Q/Maria. This week, he got out Q. I think most of us here agree that Maria won't be in the F3. If he gets out Maria (probably at 5), he satisfies the win condition he set out for himself. In a more meta sense, he also finally got a flashback package.
3) Charlie is a threat in-game. We got (subtitled) conversations this week about Charlie being super likable and beating everyone in the end. While this isn't the end-all-be-all, it's worth noting.
4) Kenzie as a runner-up. This subreddit has gotten on-board with a Kaoh Rong dynamic for this season, with Michele/Kenzie beating Aubry/Charlie. But I want to propose another theory: maybe Kenzie is built up to be a compelling and rootable runner-up because Charlie really did just play that strong of a strategic game. I mean objectively speaking, the man has completely steamrolled. The edit has downplayed the alliance of himself/Maria/Ben throughout the middle of the merge, instead choosing to focus on more entertaining characters, but we knew that they were in control. Charlie also got his moment this episode to one-up Maria, which plays into what the edit has suggested with Charlie always getting his way and being the center of that duo. But having Charlie march to the end and win wouldn't make for a compelling FTC in what would be the most obvious win of the New Era thus far. Kenzie is the last of her tribe standing; she's been called a threat by others who ultimately took her out. She's slipped through as Q foretold in his hide-and-seek prophecies. She's even tied into a lot of the major themes of the season. But none of these things are exclusive to winners. I think a key example here is Carolyn, who was edited as a super rootable character that was portrayed in the edit to be a lot closer to winning and a much bigger threat than she actually was. There are other things too, such as the unfortunate reality of female winners not usually having such big edits, and Kenzie (I believe) would be the first New Era winner, male or female, to actually lead in overall confessional time for the cast. She'd be an incredibly unique winner for the series in that regard.
All-in-all, I think this subreddit has jumped a lot onto the notion of Kenzie winning when I don't think it's the slam dunk yet that a lot of this subreddit thinks. After voting out Q this week, there isn't anything that is glaringly wrong with his edit. Sure, he's a bit boring and doesn't have a ton of personal content outside of, say, Taylor Swift, but maybe there just isn't much there? The New Era has also done a lot of editorial legwork to try and mask obvious winners in the past. 41 basically made up fiction about Erika to make her seem more in-danger than she was when in reality her alliance of herself/Deshawn/Heather ran the game. 44 propped up Carolyn to be a legitimate threat to Yam Yam when that wasn't the case. 45 chose to spend most of the merge focusing on the downfall of Belo and Emily's underdog arc and then only really circled back around to the Reba dynamics at the end. I can see the editors of 46 choosing to focus on the more wacky and compelling rest of the cast over a dull dominance of a Charlie + playing up Kenzie as a legitimate threat to win so the finale isn't a slog when Maria probably goes out 5th.
I'm personally probably split about 50/50 between Kenzie and Charlie. I do see the argument for a Kenzie social victory. But I also think that the Finale and FTC is going to have to do a lot of legwork on why Charlie loses given the edit has basically done nothing but show him playing a stellar strategic game; given the current meta of the show and how fans have reacted to "wtf?" winners as of late, I'd expect the editors to be a bit more explicit on why Charlie would lose to someone who admittedly didn't do as much strategically. But we will see.

2024.05.16 04:59 accidentalswifty Animal control is on a mission to make me miserable

TL/DR; I got into some legal trouble, part of the fallout was my abusive ex calling the city and reporting that my animals were neglected and they couldn’t prove it in court but I pled to a lesser charge to be done with it. Since then, they have been itching to find me in violation of my probation and ultimately got me for having one more dog than the city allows. I have had four dogs as long as I’ve lived here and I now have to go to court and explain why I was violating my probation. The initial charges were issued based off a picture submitted by someone who didn’t have authorization to be on my property and the second time evidence was obtained after the officer climbed up on my fence and looked into my yard, without a warrant or my permission and then he threatened to seize my animals if I didn’t comply with his demands.
I went to jail on NYE and was in there for three days (weekend/holiday) for a petty crime. My 4 dogs and 2 others that I was watching for a friend were at my house. My best friend cared for them (very well might I add) while I was in jail. Animal control was contacted by my ex claiming the dogs were left alone, mistreated, and that I was boarding animals at my home. I returned home from jail and animal control was waiting for me at my house. He’s new, still has the creases in his uniform, stands about two feet shorter than me and takes his job very seriously. You know the type. Regardless of Paul Blart’s larger than life personality, I remained professional throughout all of our interactions. He wrote me a citation for animal cruelty for leaving my dogs regardless of the fact they were cared for, unauthorized use of a residence (because I accepted money from my friends to watch their dogs), not picking poop within 48 hours, hard to do when in jail, and number of dogs on premises (the city allows 3 dogs max, I have lived here for 8 years unaware of this and I moved here with the same 4 dogs I have now and that’s not changing). Prosecutor in my tiny town of like 30,000 people recommended 11 days of jail (no, I’m not joking). I pled to number of dogs on premise and the boarding charge in exchange for 1 year unsupervised probation as the judge didn’t exactly see eye to eye with the prosecutor. To my knowledge, animal control has been aware that I’ve had four dogs and I have certainly not given them any reason to believe I have less than four dogs. That I can assert without a shred of doubt.
A month after we reached an agreement, I received a letter in the mail from the same officer, stating that on 4/8 they received a complaint that my dogs were barking in excess. He edited the standard message to include that this would be my only warning and that the next one would be a summons, which would violate my probation. He made note of the complaint which was received via our cities “app” where anyone can report anything and they may do so without any ounce of personal information tied to it. What struck me as odd was that the “complaint” came in on 4/8, however the letter and the report were filed on 4/7. What’s even stranger, is that I was camping 3 hours away with all four of my dogs for a week and didn’t return home until 4/11. I can’t help but to feel like that was anything other than a targeted attempt to punish me.
A week after that, animal control is in my alley looking over my fence into my yard. Harassing my dogs who were now barking aggressively (as they have every right to do might I add, I don’t care if the FBI or the Pope are peering over my fence, unless you have my permission to do so my dogs can do whatever the hell they want). A few minutes later there’s a knock at my door, he tells me that I’m in violation of the ordinance regarding the number of animals I have on premise. I told him that * ”I do not wish to speak to you anymore because every time I have been honest with you— I have only ever been honest with him— it was under the pretense that you were “concerned” with my animals and you used that concern against me” * His supervisor, who is a literal Paul Blart on steroids told me that I would either do whatever the officer said or they would “seize whichever dogs they wished to at their discretion and I could go to court to get them back but that likely wouldn’t end in my favor”— that’s a direct quote. He then asked me to bring my dogs out one at a time for him to “inspect”, all of whom were healthy and in great shape as they’ve always been (which we both agreed on). He then issued me a summons. A day later I received a letter in the mail from the court stating I was in violation of my probation and that I needed to appear at a different date to explain to the judge why I was violating my probation.
Can animal control look over my fence? Am I not to expect a certain level of privacy in my own home? What if I had been back there sunbathing in the nude and does it make a difference if I was or not?
They didn’t have a warrant but they threatened to take my dogs away if I didn’t comply. That just feels fucked up to me, pardon my French.
What’s my angle in court? I cannot afford an attorney and the public defender they appointed me last time is a sleaze so that’s a no go.

2024.05.16 04:56 xdoomsongx Help with possible ID

Hello, my family and I have this dish that belonged to my great grandmother. We know that she gave it to her mother in 1929. There are no marks on the glass at all. We know nothing about glass, but we're just hoping to see if anyone might have any info on it other than what we know. We are assuming that it isn't worth insuring? I hope the image posts correctly. I'm fairly new to posting pictures on reddit. The dish is orange. It has a pattern that looks sort of "river rock" like. The pattern also has a texture that's sort of rough. Thanks for any help!
Edit to add that I posted the picture as a comment because it doesn't look like it posted with the info. Thanks.

2024.05.16 04:51 KyotoSeason I think I probably thyroid cancer but I am in referral hell. Kinda panicking but don’t want to alarm my family yet. Any advice?

Timeline… - 2022-ish: started feeling like I have a harder time retaining memories. I blamed it on getting into my mid-late 30’s.
Ultrasound Findings:
FINDINGS: RIGHT THYROID LOBE: 4.8 X 1.6 X 1.7 cm. LEFT THYROID LOBE: 4.7 X 1.3 X 1.7 cm. THYROID ECHOTEXTURE: Echogenicity: Normal. Vascularity: Normal Isthmus: 2 mm NODULES: Right lobe: 1. 6 × 5 x 4 mm hypoechoic noncalcified solid nodule (TI RADS 4). 2. 11 × 11 x 9 mm predominantly isoechoic nodule with internal echogenic foci (TI RADS 4). Left lobe: 3. 7 x 7 x 5 mm complex predominantly hypoechoic solid nodule with internal echogenic foci (TI RADS 5). 4.7 x 7 x 5 mm cystic/solid hypoechoic nodule with internal echogenic foci (TI RADS 4).
Whomever read the report recommended a biopsy of at least 2 nodules.
I’m thinking that the memory fog, air hunger, abscess, pressure sensations could all be stemming from this. I’m now waiting for my referral office to get me in with an endo…who knows how long. The new ENT takes many days to read test reports, make referrals, contact me, do anything so I’m feeling really fucking anxious. Endo’s in the area only seem to accept referrals even if it isn’t required by insurance.
Anyone have any advice? I haven’t told my family yet because there’s a bunch of other serious stuff happening and I don’t want to pile on.

2024.05.16 04:50 Vertex63 UMFST Targu Mures Final Documents for Letter of Acceptance

I recently received a conditional acceptance as a non-EU student and had some questions about the documents I have to prove to receive my letter of acceptance.
I received an email that says I need to submit the same documents I would for regular admission so they can send them to the Ministry to authenticate my studies.
I need some clarification about Article 20. Part (6)[Medical Insurance] and Part (9)[Signed application form].
I am still determining what medical insurance they want me to provide. Are they asking me to get an insurance provider from Romania or to know if I have medical insurance in my home country?
I also need to find out what application form they are talking about.
If you are interested, these requirements can be found in Article 20, per their methodology document.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance. If I cannot find anything here, I will email the university and ask for further details. Your help in this matter is invaluable to me.
My apologies if the post is too long,
thank you.

2024.05.16 04:48 weluckyfew Lawyer failed to deliver a demand letter - any grounds for malpractice? (Texas)

Trying to help a friend explore any possible avenues here -
She paid a "contractor" $14K for a new HVAC system. The system stopped working after a week and now she has been without any HVAC for months. She tried giving this man many opportunities to fix it, but finally had an HVAC professional come out for an estimate. They were shocked by the level of incompetence in the install - the guy had even installed the minisplit backwards. Told her it wasn't fixable and they would have to tear out the whole system and start from scratch. (I know a little about HVAC and even I could see the install was not even remotely professional)
So she hired a lawyer to sue the contractor - $2,000 to start. The lawyer told her not to do anything - don't do any repairs, don't try to chargeback the credit card, nothing. He told her he would send a demand letter as a first step and then start looking into the contractor's assets or possible liability insurance. The lawyer stated the man's address and she advised the lawyer that address was incorrect.
Weeks go by and the lawyer just keeps saying "We're waiting for a reply, these things take time, he has 30 business days to reply" - finally, after more than two months the lawyer says "Oh, that letter came back as undeliverable, nothing more we can do, too bad." They had sent it to the address she told them was wrong, and also took a ridiculous amount of time to tell her it wasn't delivered (when they would have known that within a week or two)
So she asks for her $2,000 back, and is told they are dissolving the law firm and maybe they can refund her a tiny bit of what she paid. She contacted the credit card company to see about a chargeback for the contractor's $14K (which the lawyer had told her to wait on) and finds out it's too late for a chargeback.
On top of all that, she spends 20 minutes online and is able to find the contractor's actual address, as well as his long trail of lawsuits and bankruptcies. That's how long it would have taken this lawyer to do their job correctly.
I know it's a longshot, but any chance she has a case for malpractice for the lawyer advising her not to pursue other remedies but then not doing their job?

5 Types of Shower Wall Panels: How to Choose?
Undertaking a bathroom renovation is a substantial commitment, both in terms of time and resources. Selecting the ideal material for your new shower wall is a critical decision that requires a balanced consideration of both functional attributes and aesthetic appeal. This comprehensive guide will provide you with an in-depth analysis of five distinct types of shower wall panels, outlining their advantages and disadvantages, to assist you in making an informed choice tailored to your specific requirements.

What Features Do Shower Wall Panels Need to Have?

Before getting all starry-eyed about the colors and textures, you have to consider some practical aspects. Here are some of the key features that any decent shower wall material needs to offer.

https://preview.redd.it/qmrvtf8zap0d1.png?width=612&format=png&auto=webp&s=a6b822b2798962f3d91793b64d72b0789c33e438

Water Resistance

Ensuring water resistance in shower walls is crucial, not merely to prevent water splashes but to guarantee the material’s longevity and better durability. For perspective, well-sealed ceramic and porcelain tiles exhibit a water absorption rate of less than 0.5%, marking them as highly water-resistant. Conversely, materials like drywall can absorb water up to 10% of their weight, rendering them unsuitable for shower settings. Such high absorption can result in structural issues and mold proliferation, jeopardizing the wall’s structural integrity.

Mold and Mildew Resistance

Beyond aesthetics, mold issues and mildew present significant health risks. Research indicates that mold exposure can exacerbate respiratory conditions, particularly in asthma sufferers. Materials such as solid surface panels and acrylic inherently resist mold. Specifically, the non-porous nature of solid surface panels virtually eliminates mold growth opportunities, reducing mold presence by up to 99% relative to conventional materials.

Ease of Cleaning

Efficiency is paramount. On average, individuals allocate roughly 15 minutes weekly to shower cleaning. Materials like solid surface and acrylic can potentially halve this duration, courtesy of their smooth, non-porous attributes. In comparison, natural stone, due to its inherent porosity, demands more cleaning time, especially if not consistently sealed with a sealant. However, with diligent care and sealing, natural stone can offer enduring elegance and durability, lasting for a long time.

Durability

Optimizing the high durability of chosen materials is essential to ensure value for money. To illustrate, when adequately cared for, solid surface and porcelain tiles can endure for over 30 years. This lifespan surpasses many conventional materials by 50%, which may necessitate replacement or extensive upkeep within two decades.

What Types of Shower Wall Panels are Available on the Market?

Over the years, shower wall panels have evolved, presenting a diverse range of choices to meet individual preferences, requirements, and budgets. Traditionally, ceramic shower walls have been the go-to choice for many due to their timeless allure and low maintenance. Granite stands out for its inherent beauty and resilience, always maintaining its position as a preferred selection for those valuing both aesthetics and durability.
For those inclined towards high-end materials, natural stone walls—encompassing granite, marble, onyx, and travertine—offer an opulent, sophisticated touch to any bathroom. Recognized for their lasting lifespan, these exquisite materials are available in a variety of styles.
In recent times, the market has embraced novel materials. Acrylic panels, for instance, are steadily gaining popularity. Not only are they mold and mildew resistant, but they also simplify installation processes. Their diverse color and design spectrum offer a wide range of decorative possibilities. Solid surface panels, a newer addition, boast a sleek, uninterrupted appearance, which many homeowners find attractive. Notably durable and non-porous, they can adeptly replicate the look of natural substances.

Solid Surface Shower Wall Panels

In the realm of contemporary bathroom designs, solid surface shower wall panels stand as a beacon of luxury and practicality, invariably catching the attention of judicious homeowners. What exactly contributes to their remarkable qualities? Let’s explore.
Solid surface shower wall panels are the culmination of state-of-the-art technology intertwined with finesse and craftsmanship. These panels are meticulously fashioned using an exclusive blend of aluminum powder, sourced exclusively from a prestigious state-owned brand. This guarantees a composition boasting a pure 100% aluminum hydroxide foundation, completely devoid of any calcium powder inclusions. The distinct formulation of 15+25+75 fine powder facilitates the creation of high-density panels that exhibit a pore-free surface.
The resultant product is not merely a feast for the eyes but also provides a tactile experience that’s genuinely gratifying. A testament to its excellent engineering, the panels offer minimal water absorption, safeguarding against common bathroom problems such as stains and discoloration. The distinctive factor in these panels lies in the incorporation of high-grade resin, which plays a crucial role in determining the product’s longevity and aesthetics. Employing a lesser quality resin can precipitate yellowing over time; however, the utilization of Isophthalic resin in this context is noteworthy for its superior anti-yellowing prowess. This resin harbors a stable molecular structure, thereby promising a product that boasts a refined texture, augmented hardness, and unmatched resistance to yellowing and contamination, ensuring that the beauty of your shower space remains untarnished over time.

Waterproof

Water is a natural companion to showers, but without proper management, it can be detrimental to shower walls. Solid surface panels excel in this aspect. Their impermeable nature guarantees water resistance, safeguarding against potential damages and ensuring a long-lasting lifespan.

Easy to Maintain

Optimizing time is a priority in today’s fast-paced world, and solid surface panels offer a highly convenient solution for bathroom maintenance. Their sleek surface facilitates effortless cleaning, enabling you to maintain a pristine bathroom with minimal exertion over the years.

Stains and Discoloration Resistance

Bathrooms are susceptible to various staining agents, from hair dyes to diverse bathing products. Solid surface panels, composed of high-quality resin, are highly resistant to most stains. Their non-porous nature further minimizes the risk of discoloration, ensuring long-lasting aesthetic appeal.

Easily Customized

Solid surface panels offer a flexible foundation for homeowners to articulate their distinct design preferences. Whether your emphasis lies on a variety of colors, unique textures, or a particular design theme, these panels can be tailored to harmonize with your aesthetic vision, enhancing the visual appeal of your bathroom. Additionally, solid surface panels can mimic the appearance of natural materials, such as the patterns and colors of marble. This means you can achieve the luxurious look of marble easily.

Highly Durable

Given the infrequent yet substantial nature of bathroom renovations, durability is of utmost importance. Solid surface panels are constructed using premium materials, specifically designed to withstand high levels of moisture, mechanical impacts, and routine wear and tear. Solid surface panels, being highly durable, don’t warp or swell, ensuring that mold and mildew don’t find a conducive environment to grow. A highly durable surface will resist staining, scratching, and other routine damages that lesser materials might succumb to.

Anti-Mold

Mold is not only aesthetically unappealing but also poses potential health risks. The non-porous nature of solid surface panels serves as an effective barrier against mold proliferation, thereby promoting a healthier and cleaner bathroom environment for you and your family.

Antimicrobial

Beyond mold resistance, solid surface panels are engineered with the capability to resist a wide range of microbial agents. This intrinsic antimicrobial property further enhances the hygiene and safety of your shower area, reducing the likelihood of bacterial growth and subsequent

Acrylic Shower Wall Panels

Acrylic panels have garnered significant attention in the home improvement sector due to their combination of cost-effectiveness, longevity, and visual appeal. They are frequently utilized in bathroom upgrades. But what are their inherent characteristics and advantages?
Acrylic shower wall panels are fabricated from a heat-treated thermoplastic compound, resulting in a consistent sheet. These panels are recognized for their polished finish that not only elevates their visual appeal but also offers a mold and mildew-resistant surface. A notable feature of acrylic panels is their ability to mimic various materials. With a wide selection of different colors and patterns, they are a preferred choice for home interiors. For those seeking the aesthetics of natural stone or ceramic at a reduced cost, acrylic stands as an excellent alternative. Moreover, when using individual acrylic sections, a secure and watertight seam between panels can be achieved.

Lightweight and Easy to Install

Acrylic panels are notably light, making them ideal for DIY projects. Their installation is uncomplicated, eliminating the need for a professional team. This results in time and labor cost savings.

Easy to Clean

The sleek finish on acrylic panels is both aesthetic and functional. It prevents the adherence of water droplets and soap residues. Cleaning is effortless, only requiring a damp cloth without the need for strong chemicals or intensive scrubbing.

Affordable

Opting for acrylic panels provides a balance of style and utility without straining your budget. They represent excellent value, given their durability and low maintenance needs.

Waterproof

Acrylic panels inherently resist water due to their non-porous composition. They’re an optimal choice for moisture-prone areas like showers. Their design, having fewer seams than conventional tiles, minimizes the chances of leakage.

PVC Shower Wall Panels

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) may initially seem complex by name, but within the realm of bathroom refurbishments, it represents economical and functional choices. Let’s delve into the details of PVC shower wall panels.
PVC shower wall panels, fabricated from a plastic-derived material, are both lightweight and cost-effective, catering to a broad spectrum of homeowners. Their diverse design and finish options facilitate various aesthetic goals, from contemporary to classic, without incurring the expenses of higher-end materials.

Lightweight

One of the standout features of PVC panels is their weight. Being incredibly lightweight, they’re easy to transport and handle, which is a boon for DIY projects. This lightness doesn’t compromise their strength, though. They’re sturdy enough to stand up to daily shower use.

Water Resistance

Ensuring water resistance is crucial for shower areas. PVC panels, with their non-porous properties, guarantee this protection. They prevent water penetration, safeguarding against potential damage. Their design suits wet environments, promoting durability and minimizing maintenance needs.

Low Maintenance

PVC panels cater to individuals preferring minimal upkeep. Their sleek design facilitates effortless cleaning of dirt and residues. Additionally, their resistance to mold and mildew ensures a hygienic bathroom ambiance.

Cost-Effective

Are you working within a budget? PVC panels present an optimal solution. As one of the most cost-effective materials available, they combine resilience and aesthetic appeal without straining your finances. They stand out as a top choice for those seeking quality and affordability.

Fiberglass Shower Wall Panels

Fiberglass, a material with a rich history, has become a favored selection for numerous homeowners, especially in the fabrication of shower wall panels. But what attributes contribute to its distinction?
Fiberglass shower wall panels are meticulously manufactured through a process of intertwining delicate glass fibers to form a textile-like base, subsequently reinforced with a resin compound. This technique yields a product that combines lightness with robust strength. Furthermore, these panels frequently feature a gel-coat surface layer, optimizing the texture and augmenting its resistance to water penetration.

Lightweight But Strong

The beauty of fiberglass lies in its paradoxical nature. It’s incredibly lightweight, making it easy to handle and install. Yet, its strength is commendable. This balance ensures that homeowners don’t have to compromise on durability when opting for easier installation.

Stains Resistance

Nobody likes a stained shower wall. Fiberglass panels, with their gel-coat surface, resist most common bathroom stains. Whether it’s soap scum or hard water marks, a simple wipe is often enough to keep the panels looking pristine.

Easy to Install

For those who love a good DIY project, fiberglass panels are a dream. Their lightweight nature combined with their flexibility ensures that installation is straightforward. No need for specialized tools or professional help, making them a cost-effective choice.

Tile Shower Wall Panels

Tiles have long been a foundational element in bathrooms. Their adaptability and visual appeal have endeared them to homeowners for generations. However, when discussing tile shower wall panels, we are highlighting a contemporary adaptation of this timeless choice.
Tile shower wall panels are large, unified panels designed to emulate the appearance of individual tiles. These panels capture the beauty of traditional tiles without the complexities of individual tile placement, grouting, and associated drawbacks. Constructed from materials like porcelain and ceramic, these panels deliver a cohesive appearance while preserving the allure of conventional tiles. Furthermore, they serve as an excellent substitute for glass tiles on shower floors, especially in homes with children or seniors, due to their enhanced grip and minimized slip risk.

Highly Customizable

One of the standout features of tile panels is their customizability. They come in a plethora of designs, colors, and textures. Whether you’re aiming for a contemporary look or a vintage vibe, there’s a tile panel out there that fits the bill. This flexibility ensures that homeowners can achieve their desired bathroom aesthetic with ease.

Higher Cost

Quality often comes at a price. Tile shower wall panels, given their aesthetic appeal and durability, tend to be pricier than some other options like PVC or acrylic. However, many homeowners find the cost justified, given the longevity and upscale look they offer.

Require Regular Cleaning

While tile shower wall panels eliminate the hassle of grout lines, they still require regular cleaning to maintain their shine. Water spots, soap scum, and other bathroom residues can dull their appearance over time. Regular cleaning ensures they remain the centerpiece of your bathroom.

Importantly, the matte finish not only provides a sophisticated look but also offers scratch resistance, thereby enhancing the long-term durability and appearance of the wall.
Solid surface panels offer a superior combination of durability, visual appeal, and ease of maintenance, making them an exceptional selection. Crafted from high-grade resin, these panels are designed for long-lasting performance. Considering their water-resistant, mold-resistant and antimicrobial properties, solid surface panels are often deemed the benchmark for shower wall materials. The added benefit of scratch resistance, especially in the matte finish options, provides homeowners with assurance that their investment will withstand daily wear and tear, maintaining a contemporary and clean appearance for years to come.
