I'm hoping the attorneys here might help, but I'm expecting to be out of luck. I've shared my story in a comment late last week, but I think sharing as new might be easier for documentation.
In 2022, my Navient private loans were at (over? - I can't remember specifically) 10%. It was getting tough to afford and any sort of relief was looking less and less likely, lots of comments (not necessarily here, but other financial/student loan groups) were suggesting to refinance. I tried to hold off as late as I could hoping this would develop into something, but 10% was my limit. Anyway... I ended up refinancing with another loan servicer in 2022. Based on this happening alone, I expected Navient to do absolutely nothing for me.
However... after seeing this application come about in this sub-reddit, I was getting pretty upset. Navient really screwed me as well as the school I attended. I attended The International Academy of Design & Technology, which changed names to Stafford-Brown College years after I graduated. The school pushed me towards private loans, telling me I had exhausted my limit for federal loans. I believe this was a lie because when reviewing my information in the last couple of years since filling out my BD application and seeing a large portion of money I could borrow - this was before my federal loans were forgiven. The other thing that pissed me off was that we specifically asked not to take a Parent PLUS loan out because my single mother couldn't afford it. Guess what, they snuck the paperwork in for the Parent Plus loan in a large packet and did the whole "sign here, here, here, and here" thing and said it was to secure the loans. Didn't even mention the Parent loan was mixed in there. So I paid that myself... And unfortunately, I didn't think to file a separate BD application for this until AFTER the deadline to be full class, so this is a post class application. Also because I paid it off years ago, it wasn't a thought. And the first application I filed (this was post class (not under DeVos) was immediately denied because it was paid off, so I filed a 2nd one and noted that I was hoping to be considered full class for refund considering I filed a one for my other loans already and cited my case number. Last I checked (long time ago) it was still pending.
I attended IADT from 2003-2007. My private loans were initially Sallie Mae, then moved to Navient. Under both servicers, I struggled to pay and they only options they gave me were deferment or interest only payments. I had since exhausted my ability to defer and even when interest reached 10% in 2022, they only offered deferment (well, not really because they told me I exhausted that) or interest only payments. Which is also why I refinanced elsewhere. Long story short, since 2007 when I was required to begin making payments, I have paid 2-3 times what I borrowed on my loans and still owed half as of 2022.

Since learning about the misconduct application and a recommendation to file a CFPB complaint to be able to apply, I tried it. I basically asked to be able to apply like anyone else and if the application proves that I was a victim, I asked for Navient to buy my loans back from my new servicer and treat my case like any other. I didn't expect they would do this, but worth trying, right? About a week later, they responded basically saying that because my loans are paid in full and they are no longer my servicer, I am not eligible for the application. I mean, it makes sense on the surface. But it does NOT excuse them taking such advantage of me nor does it discount the fact I was a victim of fraud. I have 60 days to provide feedback to my CFPB response, but the case is closed. Feedback is only used to help improve the process, not affect my complaint outcome in any way.
Side note - Since 2007, probably a few years later, I had reached out to 1-2 lawyers about suing, but no one wanted to touch it nor did I know who or how to really approach any of this legally. One was already suing IADT in Florida (I'm in Illinois) and I only reached out to that one or even knew about it because it showed up on a news article. Initially, when I reached out, the lawyer said they would include me and expand the case outside of Florida. A while later, they rescinded and said they couldn't help me. I'm not even sure if the case in FL went anywhere.
I also discovered during my BD application process when looking for evidence that in 2019, like 49 states sued CEC (the parent company of IADT) and settled by stopping all of the loans for their schools. I was not informed or included in this settlement and I don't know why. So I have a 2015 Iron 883. The previous owner put it in a garage at 55 miles and never touched it again. I've been trying to get it back up to good condition; de-rusted tank, new fuel pump, tires, fluid changes, new brakes, new battery, etc. I haven't had too much issue with it but around July 2023 got a P0107 and P0374 codes. I've put over 2000 miles on it and did the 500 mile break in, 1000 mile service, replaced the MAP sensor, spark plugs and spark plug wires, CKP sensor, HO2S. Harley tech told me in the maintenance history the original owner allegedly brought the bike back to the dealership for the same rideability issue (which is probably why he locked it up at 55 miles) so they diagnosed a defective ECM from the manufacturer, got approval for a good will repair and replaced it for free. Every time they have the bike they do the maintenance, test ride it for 10-20 miles and the codes stay gone. I have it back for a couple weeks and they pop up again and bike starts having rideability issues. They said they don't know what's wrong with it but I'm not paying them another $200-$300 for more troubleshooting if they can't figure out how to fix it. I probed the whole circuit for the CKP and MAP sensors for continuity on all the wires and they show proper voltage when tested with the battery. Both of the sensors seem to work fine and they're new so I don't see the sensors themselves being the issues. Not sure what else could cause both of those codes repeatedly together. I've been scrounging through the service manual as well but there's a lot to sift through. I've also taken it to 3 other mechanics before who diagnosed it ECM before the good will repair so they don't know what else could be the issue either. I grew up on dirt bikes but this is my first real street motorcycle so I'm by no means a Harley tech but any help would be appreciated. I also get this could be hard to diagnose through a sub reddit but if there's anything else that would help, just leave a comment and I could give more info.
TL;DR
Rideability issues - Bike randomly loses power and bogs down for 2-5 seconds at a time, throttle no longer controls anything. DOES NOT lose electrical power, only mechanical power. Does better with this issue at low speeds but is more frequent above 45mph. On 2 occasions has died completely at low speeds or when idle.
Codes thrown - P0107, P0374
Parts replaced - ECM, MAP sensor, CKP Sensor, HO2S, spark plugs & wires, battery
Injectors were inspected, CKP and MAP sensor circuits probed for continuity and voltage. I don't think the bike would bog down and throw both codes if it was just the TPS but I don't know.

- I certainly wouldn’t do it for such paltry amounts of money. (i.e., anything less than $1,000 per victim.)
- I certainly wouldn’t choose high school & college students as my “target audience” to scam, considering that most people without college degrees have abysmally low annual incomes. Why choose low-income victims when it would be much more profitable to target high-income, high-net-worth individuals earning at least six figures a year? I have knowledge in business consulting, and I promise you that a business owner would be a MUCH more lucrative mark than a low-income college student.
- I wouldn’t choose such a time & energy-draining method of scamming people. Also, communicating back and forth with potential clients is an absurdly long time sink since only less than 10% of all potential clients who reach out to me actually become paying clients of mine. This means that 90% of my time communicating with potential clients ultimately proves to be a colossal waste of my irretrievable time & energy.

Since the new season of VNL is literally just around the corner (less than 24 hours till the start of the first game!) I thought it will be nice to have weekly discussion threads, like past few couple of years.
This year the competition will be much more important than ever before, as each match counts towards the world ranking - and at the end of the competition top 5 highest ranked, not yet qualified teams will qualify to the Olympic Games!
Also, a slight change to the format of the competition is coming: no team will be relegated this season as, starting next year, 18 teams per gender wlll participate in the VNL (as opposed to just 16 now).
COMPETITION FORMAT + WHO IS PLAYING?
Each week, the 16 teams participating in the competition get split into two pools of eight teams - and both pools are hosted by different countries. Each team has four matches to play per week,. Despite the tournament being held in two locations at the same time, all the points the team get and all the sets they win will be counted towards a joint league table for all 16 teams.
Top 8 teams after 12 matches will qualify to the final play off round to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. There is and exception to this rule: Thailand, as hosts, are already pre-qualified to the play offs. That means that if they finish the regular round placed 9th on below, only top 7 teams will qualify and the 8th spot will be assigned to Thailand.
The Pools this week are:
Pool I (Antalya, Turkey): TURKEY, ITALY, POLAND, JAPAN, GERMANY, NETHERLANDS, BULGARIA, FRANCE
Pool II (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil): BRAZIL, U.S.A, SERBIA, CHINA, CANADA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, THAILAND, FRANCE
WHERE TO WATCH
A variety of national broadcasters will show certain games of the VNL either on TV or through online streaming. These include (among others) Polsat Sport for Poland, RAI Sport for Italy, L'Equipe for France and CBC Sports for Canada.
If you have no access to any of the channels broadcasting the VNL, you could subscribe to Volleyball World TV - its a paid subscrpition service launched by the FIVB and Volleyball World, which will broadcast all games of the competition. There is a 7-day free trial available, and prices start at 1.65eur (ca 2$/ month) if you purchase the yearly plan (19.99 EU12 months)
In the previous years, select VNL games were also broadcasted for free on FIVB's Youtube channel. I am not sure if this will be the case this year, but I will update the post with links to the free matches if there are any planned for this year.

Je pose cette question par ma curiosité concernant les aspects legals, et pour ma propre connaissance des lois. J'explique l'histoire et la situation:
Il y a quelques semaines un des mes collègues, un nouvel arrivant, occupait une location à courte terme pour une période de deux semaines pendant qu'il se trouve un moyen de se loger pour le long terme. Il avait pris service d'un courtier pour facitier sa recherche.
Il a specifié au courtier, une semaine avant la fin de sa location à courte terme, le condo qu'il préfèrait le plus parmi les visites effectués avec le courtier. Il a attendu une réponse de courtier pour quatres jours, mais silence totale. Avec moins de trois nuits avant la fin de sa location à courte terme, il a cherché d'autres options, et a déposé une demande pour un autre condo qui convenait à ses besoins (pas de signatures, promesses, ou bails. juste une demande)
Le même jour, le courtier lui a dit qu'il allait « faire un offre » et lui a demandé de signer ce genre de document (promesse de location). Il l'a signé comme c'était pas un bail final, mais selon le courtier, c'était qu'un offre. Le soir, il a été approuvé pour l'autre condo aussi. Tout ça parce qu'il ne restait que deux nuits avant la fin de sa location temporaire.
Quand il a dit au courtier qu'il va préférer l'autre logement, le courtier s'est mis en colère et lui a dit que l'offre est accepté et le proprietaire peut le poursuivre legalement s'il refuse de signer un bail. Pour éviter les troubles, il a dû decider de refuser le condo pour lequel il avait déposé une demande, puisque aucun document n'a pas été signé à ce côté.
Le jour après, l'entreprise qui gère le condo qu'il a refusé lui a dit qu'une promesse de location, comme il a signé n'est pas un document juridiquement contraignant, et c'est seulement le cas avec un bail officiel, mentionnant que le courtier n'est pas honnête avec lui comme il était nouvel arrivant. Ils lui ont demandé de leur rappeller s'il changait d'avis. Pourtant il a pris décision d'éviter les troubles legales potentielles.

He used a broker to facilitate his search. He specified to the broker, a week before the end of his short-term rental, the condo he preferred the most out of the broker's visits. He waited for a response from the broker for four days, but there was complete silence. With less than three nights before the end of his short-term rental, he looked for other options and applied for another condo that suited his needs (no signatures, promises, or leases, just an application).
On the same day, the broker told him that he was going to "make an offer" and asked him to sign this kind of a document (promise to lease). He signed it because it was not a final lease but, according to the broker, just an offer. In the evening, he was also approved for the other condo he applied for. All this because he had just two nights before he had to quit his temporary stay.
When he told the broker that he would prefer the other place, the broker was enraged and told him that the offer was accepted and the owner would sue him if he refused to sign a lease. To avoid trouble, he decided to refuse the condo he applied for since no document had been signed on that side.
The next day, the company managing the condo he refused told him that a promise to lease, like the one he signed, is not a legally binding document, and that this is only the case with an official lease, mentioning that the broker was not honest with him as he is new here. They asked him to call them back if he changed his mind. However, he decided to avoid potential legal trouble.
