It will be our first dog as an adult, growing up I had a small cattle dog cross.

We are open to rescue but would most likely end up going with a reputable breeder to get the specific breed that we're after.
3) Describe your ideal dog.
This may not exist but it feels like we're after the goldilocks zone of dogs. We'd like to have a small affectionate dog for our family and daughter (10) to have as a companion. Although we want it to be affectionate, we don't want it to have separation anxiety or be comfortable chilling out around the house without being held. We want it to be on the lower energy side, we're happy to take it for a walk almost every day, but if we miss one it won't go stir crazy. We'd prefer something on the quieter side. We don't mind the occasional bark at the door, but endless barking would get irritating. We want it to be okay around other dogs, even though we don't have any ourselves. Leaning towards the smaller / medium sizes.

Two leading contenders were cavalier king charles and a beagle. Both suit the profile of small to medium size, affectionate and good family dogs. Having some second thoughts about the beagle due to noise concerns. Cavalier king charles sounds good, however we're concerned it might be a little _too_ needy.

Basic commands / manners. Not jumping on people, sit, stay, come, quiet, drop.

No, it will purely be for family company.

Our daughter will devote a significant period of time cuddling / playing. We will dedicate short training periods (10-20 minutes) combined with an evening walk.

We'd be doing an evening walk of around 4-5 km, and have the option of using a dog park if we feel it's a good environment for the dog (i.e. handles interactions well with other dogs)

- Stanford: pretty good but only for US residents.
- MCIT: has an on-campus degree and well established program and recognized uni, but the fast changes in the program each year to distinguish the online from on-campus always make me nervous, some people said the graduation will be separate and maybe some courses will be reserved to on-campus only.
- Illinois: to be honest I just check on google and found that Penn has higher rank than it, so I dropped my application.

Going to fill my ISA this tax year and I already salary sacrifice over 50k into my pension. I want to be able to FIRE by 45 so will be taking advantage of a GIA to help me get there. All my accounts are with Vanguard (barring my work pension).

i’m looking to move out for the first time soon, and i’ve been looking for places online. i’ll look at their prices, fees, policies, pictures etc. and everything will seem great! then i read their reviews and they’re almost always AWFUL, with a few good ones sprinkled in. filled with reviews about having roaches and other pests, bad maintenance, and much more. is this a case of people being more inclined to write reviews after a negative experience than a good one? i’m horrified of living with roaches (as i’m sure everyone is) and every single place i’ve looked at no matter the price has reviews mentioning them. is this just something i have to get over? i’m sure i sound ridiculous but im just anxious as hell 🤣

This question flummoxed me when raised by Master Bell, the judge hearing my application last December to have Kelly’s defamation writ against me struck out. “Let us consider the case of the former minister of war,” said the judge, sounding pretty much like a professor conducting a tutorial. Profumo had to resign his government post because he had been discovered to have been visiting a prostitute who also had a Russian diplomat as a client. He might have been jeopardising national security with post-coital pillow talk, and that wouldn’t do. But in later life, Sir John was awarded a CBE for his charitable work. Might it not be, asked Master Bell, that, in a similar way, Gerry Kelly was once a man with no entitlement to a reputation because of his engagement in violence, but that he now is a good man, a distinguished member of the Policing Board, an MLA and someone who has earned the respect of his peers? I paraphrase. I was sitting at the back of the courtroom, listening to all this and thinking: “Oh, drat! [I paraphrase again.] I hadn’t thought of that.” I doubt Kelly’s own legal team had thought of it either, but they took it up and argued that, indeed, Kelly had changed over the years. They appeared to concede something that I doubt Kelly himself would concede: that he was indeed once a bad man who did bad things, but that he was now a reputable person, a peacemaker. The evidence of this was that he had brought the IRA into the peace process and helped make Northern Ireland a better place for all of us. “Hardly a qualification for sainthood,” said the judge. Kelly might have had all sorts of reasons for bringing the IRA into the peace process, including the realisation that his past terrorism was failing. It didn’t mean that he was a better person. But I feel uncomfortable about the story of my experience with Kelly being used to undermine criticism of the PSNI for spying on journalists. That journalism is not a crime is a lesson that has to be learnt as clearly by Gerry Kelly as by the Chief Constable. Still, Kelly has brought this derision on himself. A consequence of the superb and eloquent ruling of Master Bell that Kelly, unlike John Profumo in his later years, has no moral compass will echo down the years. The case was referred to again in a recent article in the Irish Times about Ireland’s demotion in the ranks of countries which allow press freedom. The paper reported that Ireland had dropped from second to eighth place in an annual global index of press freedom published by Reporters Without Borders. Ireland is now regarded as a jurisdiction “where politicians have subjected media outlets to judicial intimidation”. My case was outside that jurisdiction but was included in the story to illustrate how many of these cases similarly arise from within Sinn Fein. This is some achievement for the party that proclaims a concern for human rights. It has tarnished Ireland’s reputation as a healthy democracy. What we are seeing here is a failure by both Sinn Fein and Kelly himself to see themselves as others see them. The feeling about Gerry Kelly when he presumes to lecture the police about the rights of journalists is that he somehow just doesn’t get how paradoxical that is; that he just doesn’t have any sense of irony, either to see it in the conduct of others or to anticipate how others might see it in him. But Kelly isn’t alone in this. He exemplifies the blinkered vision of core republicans and their inability to comprehend how others disdain their past and their cultish, on-message discipline. For them, of course, the ideology is self-evident truth and the IRA campaign was an inevitable, just and even noble response to oppression. Michelle O’Neill says we empathise with Palestinians here because we too suffered as they did. Well, some among us did, but I couldn’t claim, with a straight face, talking to a mother sitting in the rubble of Gaza, that my life has more in common with hers than, say, a London taxi driver has. I do have something in common with the Jew who gets called to account for the actions of the IDF, for I was often patronised in England by people who assumed I was an IRA supporter. In Carál Ní Chuilín’s humility before the UK Covid-19 Inquiry we saw something extraordinary, though — a former IRA militant accepting that she had done wrong in attending the funeral of Bobby Storey, the one Gerry Adams called the crann mór, the big tree. She had insulted us by putting the opportunity to honour Storey above sympathy for those who could not honour their dead. But she gets that. She empathised — and the power of the impact of that was accentuated by the rarity of republicans accepting criticism. Is Ní Chuilín’s way the future and Kelly’s the past? It seems almost too much to hope for.

I'm Australian and really want to immigrate to America, however I dropped out of school in Year 10 due to depression. I've been working at my local farm for almost two years, and my boss is the type who HATES when people quit so I 100% know they would not help supply evidence of my work there for 2 years or be a reference. Is there any other way to prove I've been working at my farm for the two years of evidence? Would my pay stubs work for example?
If not, I've been looking into adult education anyway, and was wondering if TAFE qualifies for the 12 years of education requirement? Online it says a Year 12 Certificate satisfies the requirement so I'm not sure if TAFE falls under that or if a HSC from a secondary continuing learning school is the only way, or if there's no way for me to fulfill the HS requirement for the DV lottery.
I know this is a bit of a complicated question so thanks for the help.

I woke up at 6:30 for some horrific reason. I tried to sleep in before work, but couldn't, so I ended up playing Minecraft for a bit instead
I did decide eventually to lay down for a bit, but I didn't want to be late, so I got up again and showered. My dad made me eggs and toast for breakfast. They were good, but not very filling.

I currently need to work a bit on my drawing people skills. Now I mostly draw my favorite famous people - and there’s not many of them, and they are not very popular, so I don’t want to look weird with 9 fanarts of the same person. I’ve seen people using photos from Pinterest as a reference. There’s a ton of good photos of people there with good lighting and just looking good. Would that be okay to draw from a Pinterest reference and post on for example instagram? I would mention the reference is from Pinterest. It’s sometimes pretty difficult to find the original author of a picture there. I don’t plan on earn anything on them, just post them online. Yes I know there are free stock photos and I am using them too, but on Pinterest there’s a ton of good stuff and I wonder if that would be ok to use it as well.

I'm relatively new, CP 250ish Magplar. I breeze through most Infinite Archive content, using 2-Hander Stampede and Cleave and Puncturing Sweep for AOE burndown, while I sit in a pool of HoTs from my backbar.
Between Heavy Armor and the stream of heals, I don't have any problem healing through incoming damage.
But if I run into a dragon boss, I get into trouble.
I keep out of the damage pool at their feet, avoid their breath cone and Fus Roh Dah, but when they take to the air, I almost always get one-shot by their breath. Or by ice/fire patches they leave on the platform.
I couldn't really find any IA-specific guidance online. So far, the best I can do is to awkwardly just watch the dragon fly and try to be to the side of the center-path it takes over the platform... but it doesn't always work, and it's hard to watch the sky and my feet under pressure.
Am I missing some key bit of wisdom? I've never fought any of these bosses in their natural habitat.

Back story: i (early 30s F) used to be my father’s (mid-50s M) favorite daughter until i’m not. On going divorce processing sila ng mother ko and may ka LDR si papa sa ibang bansa na bagong relationship lang din. Safe to say nasa honeymoon stage sila. Side note: for some while na, me and my other adult sibs have diminished our respect sakanya for multiple reasons.
I have kids of my own and may kapatid akong around the same age lang ng eldest kong anak. So, pag may kailangan for school, groceries and others dinadamay ko na. I earn more naman kasi compared sa ‘rents ko so i don’t really mind. Since separated na parents namin, i and my kids live with my mom’s fam with my youngest kapatid. So lahat ng kailangan ng mga bata andito na samin. And no, walang child support binibigay tatay ko since wala din siyang source of stable income. Me and my two grown sibs no longer depend on our father’s assistance. Ang sabi na lang namin kahit wag na kami, yung bunso na lang. now, his sole role or ambag na lang is maghahatid in the morning sa mga bata to school. My youngest kapatid and my kids. Hindi niya pa magampanan yang simple role na yan kesyo wala daw gas, sira daw sasakyan and kung ano pa. Mind you, may dalawa siyang sasakyan - isa galing sa kapatid niya, isa galing sa gf niya. Both overused cars so nagkaka problema din. Of all the reasons na di siya makakasundo and hatid sa mga bata is because he wakes up late, ending either pinapasolo namin mga bata papuntang school or hinahatid ko. Btw, i work graveshift.
Eto na ang exciting part: what’s worse than him waking up late is magdamag silang magka video call ng ldr gf niya. Literally magdamag kahit tulog sila. So i cant call him via messenger, dapat phone call. Eh di naman ako nagloload kasi wherever i go, i have wifi. So this morning, after work ko since naprepare naman na ni mama bfast ng anak ko for school, and she said na nagusap na sila ni papa na magsusundo si papa umidlip na muna ako. Yung kapatid ko di makakapasok since may sinat daw.
I get off work at 5am. Tapos around 7am nakita ko di pa nasusundo anak ko. Tried calling my father via messenger kahit alam kong di uubra, desperately, nakiusap ako sa mga friends kong online na maki call pero wala din pantawag sa phone. At this point bwisit na bwisit na ako kasi naalimpungatan, puyat, and gigil na ako. So ayun, ang ending ako na naghatid sa anak ko sa school and while walking papuntang sakayan ng jeep, eto na siya, pinapalipad na sasakyan. Galit niyang sinabi sakin na siya na daw maghahatid. Nung nakita niyang wala yung kapatid ko, dumeretcho siya sa bahay kasi di niya alam na may sinat so di niya alam na di rin papasok. Few mins later, nadaanan niya ulet kami pabalik, siya na daw maghahatid. Sabi ko, no. Not anymore. Cut off na siya. And he drove away. I blocked him na. I feel like I’m gonna burst dahil sa rage.
