2024.05.14 07:18 Esperagon Black Ops 4 has the best HUD in the series.

This will sound like a hot take, until I explain myself.
Don't get me wrong, the HUD visually looks like dogwater. But it does have the perfect level of information. Contains the basics: load out, perks, round counter, but also a location callout.
Later games had this too sure, but they also had mimimaps, a feature I believe hurt the general feeling and atmosphere of the mode. Often, especially on Outbreak, I find myself looking at the map more than the details around me and I don't find that engaging for a zombies experience.
Btw, I've started to consider outbreak as something closer to a roguelike and my enjoyment of it has increased a lot.

Hello,
Like the title says I peaked in the middle of season8 playing mainly DVA with some Sigma and Junkerqueen mixed in- nearly hit masters, but I was probably gonna bounce off to D2~D3. I took a break for about a month and came back to try season9 when it came out. While the changes felt good, my winrate has been terrible. I think overall it started me in very low diamond and I dropped to plat 1 in my placements and I am very close to hitting gold now. I am not gonna blame teammates, but it does feel like i have to 3-4k every fight or the other tank presses W and we lose. I feel like I get outtraded in the frontline and die in the backline, and when I do get picks its usually too late.
I tried to make adjustments like taking more cover to avoid poke before fights. I tried out some other heroes for awhile and kept struggling. Now I have decided to play 100 games of my main DVA because I clearly do not know what I am doing at this point. Since I started I have gone 3-9 and the biggest mistakes I can spot are mostly mechanical- popping missiles too early, losing people when tracking up close and missing a lot of crucial DM's. I really feel like beforehand it was incredibly easy to get kills with this hero and now everything lives just barely unless they are completely isolated. I know since season 9 she has been considered much stronger but I cannot get value even into progressively worse players.

2024.05.14 07:02 Impressive-Profit795 From Sunbreak to MHGU

A little background info: I started playing the series with Worldborne (long sword) and I’ve finished all of Rise and Sunbreak (hunting horn) with the absence of risen shagaru and valstrax I haven’t had time for the anomaly and MR grind. I recently got into MHGU and I have to say the old gen is pretty fun. The learning curve from new to old gen had me for my first couple hints while using lance since I no longer had a dodge. The not being able to restock never really bothered me though. It’s forgetting to eat which got me the most but luckily Ive only just gotten to high rank so it hasn’t mattered much. I enjoy the slower and deliberate hunts but uragaan seems to suck no matter what generation. I do prefer the villages in new gen just because of the size and NPCs but perhaps the villages are small since there are 4 of them. The difficulty hasn’t been bad yet. I’ve definitely fainted more times in MHGU than Rise or world at the same rank but some of those hitboxes I never saw coming. I haven’t failed any quests save for the double khezu quest which hurt my soul and the “gathering” quest for 2 wyvern eggs and getting sent to Valhalla by astalos since I didn’t eat anything before the quest. Though those supposed gathering quests with the fated four were very fun and charming. Especially since you could beat all of them which I did and was a nice little challenge in lower rank. I don’t see the argument for paintballs coming back really. I mean you just get psychoserums later then you might as well see the monster on your map at all times. Though the fog of war effect is really cool when a new monster decides to show up in your quest out of nowhere. I liked the way world did it with gathering clues better. I don’t find the game necessarily hard yet it’s just a more unforgiving but to be fair I haven’t felt the pain of deviants yet. I can definitely see the argument for it being tougher since it is for sure in some aspects. One thing I didn’t like though was that you’re pretty much on your own after the game starts. No help although since I’ve played other monster Hunter games it was quite straightforward. I want a more balanced approach where they introduce me to a few things then just let me go. This game just lets you go. The thing I love the most is the monster roster. The fights have been great I love Testucabra, Shagaru’s fight location was amazing, and I wasn’t expecting Lagiacrus to have a devious hip check. It’s been a great experience as my first old gen game. If any of you have thoughts on this let me know so far I’ve loved both old and new world hunting.

i'm curious if anyone else has this problem, but as someone who played a few rhythm games before, with osu!mania being my most played one (i wasn't fantastic but i wasn't terrible, everything in the genshin rhythm game is much easier in terms of song mapping), it really stresses me out that there isn't an option to toggle a 4 key mode in this event. i understand that this is very much a skill issue on my part, but i find the 6 keys to be really difficult to learn and keep track of and i think it's a way to artificially up the difficulty, which i don't think feels very great. i think a 4k mode should be added if they bring back this event in the future for the sake of accessibility, but i was wondering what other people thought of it. this has really killed my motivation to play this event, since i've always been able to 100% clear the songs in the previous runs of this event (though it took me a really long time during last year's windbloom festival) and i have yet to get a single 100% clear in this event. for extra context i play pretty much exclusively on pc, so this could also be an issue with my monitor size. is this just me being bad, or are other people having trouble as well??

Hello guys iam thinking about creating similar game to Mage Knight. I will be using hexagon like grids each divided in small areas for movement. I want to add the movement because it feels natural and its necessary for my brain. But lately iam think why would i include movement on the grid? Would be better get rid of it and those actions and adventures keep only on action board like Feast for Odin? In many rpgs and mmorgs the movement on the map is alway tedious think to do so developers using portals and mounts for easier movement. What are your thoughts on movement.

2024.05.14 06:56 coldking2024 Lego dimensions retrospective, & The dlc levels that felt a little weak, & annoying areas with glitches other issues.

Having spent a few dozen hours in the game & menu loading a save file that had 230 gold bricks……. I realized how frustrating this game was and the potential it could’ve had. I just am at a loss for words on the game. This game had SO MUCH POTENTIAl but had too much focus on the toys, & bugs or game breaking engine problems.
I haven't touched dimensions in a hot minute but.. really wish lego added more PATCHES before they shut down the game & wish it got its own remastered lego game without the toys…. or some version with a % meter & better save system…. Feel like if TT worked longer on it, they could have been better fixes with the game & the other lego ip dlc’s.
I noticed a few times HOW ANNOYED I was when my many save files from 2019, 2023, & 2024 all were gone….. on ps4 I just gave up caring and was disappointed even after completing it & saving the game to my console. so furthermore after I just stopped playing, not sure if this is a bug but was annoying.
Starting with the dlc's i noticed things felt off like each dlc was the weakest or too short for a game entry story, or more specifically the simpsons one recreating the episode with homer & the chilli cook off, of all the new story levels it was fun but felt weird. All the other lego film games got it down very well gameplay wise so, why not do a lego batman movie or a lego simpson's game? & have it's own game... instead of dimensions? ALSO THE PUZZLES THE COLOR PUZZLES THE KEYSTONES all annoying. DOING THEM EVERY DAM TIME I GOT SOOOOOO BORED… decent game, fun worlds, annoying locking content in it and no 100% to finish. Only letting the player use a character…. That was Dedicated TO THAT SPECIFIC world locking you out… is annoying also cant access mini-kits without said character… This is not fun TT…. but moving on to a few other things, did not care for switching the keystones, and using vehicles for every dam puzzle or ramp.
The best level was probably fantastic beasts & that could’ve & should have been added in its own lego Hogwarts FB saga game.
I enjoyed the lego ninjago game more then I thought I would, & the first lego movie game was cool just felt weird they put Lego Batman movie in dimensions vs its own separate actual lego game.
The movie scene cutscenes for each dlc were recreated in the dimensions in-game engine & had a fun charm to them. But at times was very disappointing as the quality difference is very noticeable. On the contrary, The LEGO Movie Game used movie cutscenes beautifully and it worked out really well. Could be a licensing issue, but if not I have no idea why they didn’t just use movie cutscenes where they could. I understand not wanting to release 60% of the movie in the game, but they could always shape it around the scenes shown in the trailer. The batman story pack felt like devs rushed it…. Not bringing actors back for discount va’s. Robin sounds like a kid in this dlc not anything like Michael cera. I can understand if they didn't get every one back for the game for rights or contract issues but just was weird. & newt or the FB story were interesting using new keystone & magic abilties. The ghostbuster ones were weird since I never cared for the movie..
There are a few differences like In the dlc levels, Batman is picked up by Alfred outside the power plant and heads directly to Commissioner Gordon's retirement party. In the film, he heads home and the retirement party is the next evening.
Some of the voice work is off. Many characters don’t sound like they did in the movie (I know they’re different VA’s) Alfred sounds nothing like movie Alfred (Ralph Fiennes), Robin sounds nothing like movie Robin (Michael Cera), etc. Other LEGO projects have had fairly good voice replication.
The LEGO Batman Movie expansion is all and all a success. It’s given us the best portal base so far, as well as the first expansion to give us 2 mini-figures which are both great. The game is great and funny as well as a decent length. The game only suffers from occasional bugs and terrible voice acting.
Maybe I just really disliked the keystone puzzles but I was really disappointed in it overall. The scenes were funny bringing in joker & all the villains, I enjoyed seeing the gremlins & agent smith from matrix & sauron’s eye but wish they made a lego Batman game not within dimensions.
If you want to play around in the LEGO Batman Movie HUB world you can access to the HUB world for maximum fun. Id say just try the hub level if you are interested but I felt bored with the lego batman movie game dlc levels. Sadly its REPLAY-Ability was a 5… compared to fantastic beasts and others.
imagine what they could've done with a full roster of batman's villains & heroes in a full open linear game with gotham, & sure we've had tons of batman games but just loved will arnett's version of batman. I really love will arnett so felt like dimensions needed more of that batman.
Too much clutter & focus on building vehicles when they aren't all that interesting or useful…. Switching from the ecto car to the ghost trap each time felt stupid. Even tho they fixed it in 2016 with the characters instant traps. Flying characters freak out when you are next to the edge of the map & fall off repeatedly or just stand there hovering… did NO ONE THINK about patching that?
I also understand this is not a typical lego game & the audience is for kids but at least try to juggle both demographics for those who dont want to waste time?
No percent on gold bricks collected, or the items…. Why couldn’t they added a save system where if you lose your file you can save & quit with the bricks you found why is it on ps4 ps5…. Somehow deleting the game doesn’t remember where you left off?? Was this a patch that they never fixed?
Also, anyone else find it weird that the courtroom from Ghostbusters 2 isn't in the world? They even have the whole Titanic, something that only appears for 30 seconds in the movie, but one of the most important scenes isn't in the world at all or hell adding more side characters or locations why not explore inside of a building?
Also X-PO talks too much, every line of him talking during hints. I've made the choice to leave the main campaign unfinished just so he can stay silent while I play other levels. In the actual campaign and cutscenes he's fine but they made a huge mistake making him react to puzzles.
The bugs and lack of polish ruin the game..massively this is a massively outdated engine and the more they keep adding to it the buggier the games get. I'd love to see a new one built from the ground up for next gen capable created of anything they can think of with some impressive graphics. When you look at the fidelity of ratchet and clank on PS Pro there's no reason this game can't look as good as the Lego movies or very close, it's just laziness and greed (lack of investment from WB wanting to just churn out content quickly on the old engine) even on ps4 its annoying losing your save file deleting the game then reinstalling It AND LOSING ALL YOUR PROGRESS!!!!
So many boring hubs, & races locking variety or enjoyment, too many hubs that had New York…ghostbusters 1980 New York, ghostbusters 2016 New York……. FB New York…..Lego Batman movie Gotham hub just looks like New York.
Characters like the witch newt Gandalf all have the same magic ability, not interesting since they all do the exact same thing.
The vehicles are very boring, not very interesting too small. Why is chima here??? Random moments that just feel weird the battle arena was fun but after a while I got bored.
Also, I kinda wish there were in game unlockable characters: Like if you bought the Sonic dlc, beating quests would unlock the ability to buy Amy, Tails, Shadow etc. or The Simpsons allowing you to buy Marge, Lisa, maggie or each of the ghostbusters, etc. with studs.
Overall it was an interesting level but could’ve been cooler if we got a lego Batman movie game & just surprised at it not being its own game instead of within dimensions. I know sadly this likely wont happen tho.. it disappoints me that the game is mostly looking at build instructions, back & forth again and again….. So I’ve beaten the game, and as far as I can tell there are no asterisks and no question marks on the rumor map. The vessel doesn’t have an asterisk next to it but I can see there are 5 dialogue options as opposed to the 6 seen in most guides. I’m super confused, do I need to do the end sequence again to get the 6th dialogue? When I completed it the first time I had missed the “the vessels warp core is long dead”. Right now the only one missing is “I found a recording of the original signal the nomai encountered from the eye of the universe”

Bronny James will get a lot of minutes and he will have a chance to grow as a player, which will give LeBron James a reason to hang around for a couple of years (three more years). Father and son will do everything in their power to reach NBA finals together and make history. The Orlando Magic have potential. They also have cap space to sign Klay Thompson and Pascal Siakam. LeBron James is not interested in money. He just wants to play with his son and reach NBA finals. The Orlando Magic can make LeBron James dream come true...
The Lakers don't have structure. They are always trying to buy championship. It might have worked in the past... but not anymore. The bubble doesn't really count. Hey battlefield fellows! My whole Battlefield experience is strongly connected with Bad Company 2, since it was my first ever Battlefield, and I fell in love with it forever. I have around 2-3 hours in BC2, and I feel super confident in that game. Yeah, I know it's more than 10 years old, but still it's the most genuine Battlefield experience for me.
Recently I decided to give a try to BF4 (I have around 30 hours in this game now), and I hope you can give some advices to become better at this game:
1) Is there any way to improve player models visibility in this game? For the context, it's really hard for me to see enemy players especially on maps with weather effects (such as Paracel Storm for example). Maybe it's easier on soft servers, but on hardcore it's a nightmare sometimes. I know it's designed to be hard, but compared to BC2 visibility is such a disaster.
2) What is the best/most efficient way of unlocking weapons and attachments? It was such a huge dissapointment for me when I realized I need to unlock the same attachments (scopes, underbarrels etc) for different weapons. I've been mainly playing hardcore TDM, but progression seems to be quite slow even with double XP event with boost.
3) Some weapons seems to be locked behind specific maps. The same applies to some camos I believe. Are there any specific servers to join to unlock stuff like this? I was lucky enough to join random servers to unlock weapons like UNICA or GOL Magnum, but I still have some locked weapons that must be obtained by doing some stuff on specific maps I believe. That's a bit unpleasant.
P.S. - how the hell should I counter counter-knifing? I'm tired of dying from people who I'm trying to knife, but they knife me instead.
Overall, that's it, but any advices are appreciated.

First off I want to say I have been one of the defenders of the game, and I'm glad I was, because it's an excellent game now, and it's only going to get better.
The main controversy is of course, exploration.
It's controversial only because people expect certain things from a Bethesda game, like a dedicated world map to explore. And in this game which is brand new IP - there is no world map.
Let's just state that again, because as far as I can tell, it is not sinking in for most people.
Starfield has no world map.
Todd gave an interview recently (Kinda Funny) and Bryan gave an interview near launch (MinMax) and in both those interviews if you listen carefully they said what effectively amounts to exploration not being the priority with Starfield.
Procgen is side content. You are not meant to explore these generic procgen tiles as a replacement for the Boston Commonwealth or Skyrim. It couldn't possibly be that...
If you literally click a random pixel on a planet, generate the procgen tile, then go and painstakingly study every rock on that tile, there is a very good chance (roughly 100%) that you will get bored. Bethesda could not possibly have intended you to do that. My opinion is they let people think it was an exploration game because of corporate pressure from above, it's bad PR if Todd had outright said "it's not an exloration game - stick with Fallout if you want that."
So, if Starfield can be called an exploration game at all (and it's debatable) then here is my (possibly eccentric) interpretation of how exploration is supposed to be done. At this point, I'm going to sound a bit patronizing but I want to be clear I am not insulting anyones intelligence, I also want this to be a mini guide for newbys to the game so they don't get confused and disillusioned like so many have. Bethesda probably made the game too open, but as Todd said in his last interview (Kinda Funny) they "want the game to say yes to you."
Ok, so the main exploration in Starfield is done from the cockpit - except - it's actually done through the menu...
Yeah, you go to the Star Map, click on a random star and jump to it. From there you have a look in your System Map (one level down from Star Map) and you are looking for these little encounter markers on the map. There is a ship, asteroids, sensor contact, hostile activity... Possibly others, and no doubt more will be added. You then fly to it and have the encounter.
Also, if you look at planets and moons, notice some have three dots (...) on them - that means there is a POI on that planet pre populated for you to investigate. Sometimes it is a civilian structure (fracking, outpost), sometimes it is a structure defended by a hostile faction (abondoned weapons lab, etc). You then land at it, take a good look around at the lovely planet tile (and that's it... not spend 16hrs exploring...) go to your POI, murder everyone and go...
So, from that, you can say that it is primarily about space exploration which then potentially advances into on-foot exploration. This approach requires you to self-moderate your gameplay...
Look at it another way. I am not very knowledgable about Sci Fi generally but one show I have watched a lot was Star Trek Next Generation. I think Starfield gameplay is meant to flow like Next Generation...
Picard says "warp to..." there is a cutscene of the ship warping - another of the ship reaching it's destination... The crew member says "sir, our scans show..." - Picard says "hmm... let's investiate - divert power to shields..." cutscene of the ship leaving destination - and of the ship arriving at it's new destination with the encounter in front of them...
If they go down to the surface it's "beam me down..." then when they arrive, you take in the vista of the alien world - but only for a moment - not for 20 hours... otherwise it'll get boring... After they scan or shoot stuff, they say "beam me up" and they are back on the ship drinking boba tea.
So the procgen tile serves the following purposes, in order:
-Visual background for the poi you spotted from space.
-Area for you to build your outpost on.
-Area for surveying.-
-Area for random exploration.
So in my opinion people exploring the tiles were basically "playing it wrong." Now you could come back and say "ahh but Bethesda are the developer, it's is their job to guide the player, etc" I won't argue with any of that. The fact that there was so much controversy certainly implies that Bethesda did something wrong.
But let's look at what they did right? If you like exploring the POI's, and I consider them among Bethesda's best work. Then you can do the above method or even better, take the radiant quests from the Mission Boards and it actually tells you which POI the enemy is occupying. I have a spreadsheet and I'm working my way through the POIs. I take the bounty only if it is situated at a POI that I haven't visited or feel like doing. The POIs are incredibly well designed, in my opinion.
So with all that said, how do I think this system can be improved upon? And as I said, I reject the idea of the game being fundamentally broken - that is just people who wish it was Fallout 4 or Skyrim. They wish they were playing a different type of game. Well, God did not command Bethesda to make pure open-world exploration games centred on a dedicated world map. They made a different type of game, perhaps it requires a different mental approach... I admit, in order to enjoy STarfield I have to self-moderate my play a bit...
Ok, here are my suggestions.
1. Have a fixed position for all the POI's, spread accross the galaxy. So you can definitely find them all.
2. Give all POI's and varients unique names (not simply "Civilian Outpost").
3. Have a compendium, captains log, library - something, to chronicle your exploration.
4. Make it possible to grav-jump without entering the menu, with a hotkey - and be notified if there are encounters.
5. Make ship modules like brig and infirmary work, and fuel costs (already available via mods).
tldr; Starfield is not Fallout. If you are playing it like Fallout - you ARE playing it wrong.

I just extracted from a game where I started with a squad, lost all of them for whatever reason, joined another squad and couldn’t even finish a bounty before losing them as well.
Finally I gave up and looked at the map noticing only 3 players were left with almost 20 minutes still on the clock.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I know that game’s goal is completing all evolutionary feats and evolving but i am not motivated to much about it thats why i created my artifical goal, expand to whole map and be the most dominant. First 2 days of playing the game i played normal (at this time i actived both attack mutations-BB CO 01/02). After two days game feel to easy and restricted to exploring new areas. It felt easy because there isnt any risk for me i can kill all animals easily (sometimes i kill tiger with just one sharpend stick) and restricted because of need for going back to settelment after one day. My new strategy is producing 24 sharpned stick with mimic feature and reproducing when i used most of them, living nomad life and going as far as i can (my expactation is there must be a point where its to hard for my level). After 20ish hour gameplay (i get out way one time and traveled a long U) i arrived to ocean and almost never experianced hardship. Couple of time I experienced hardship because of my mistakes and near the ocean because of lack of food, water and sleep depravation (btw appreciable effects of low life expectancy is just having a so little stamina for me) apart from those it is a so comfortable travel, %95 of time i never feel hardship. I am not sure but big part of this carefree experience is those 2 mutations but i think the real problem is just having one challange (animals), for example there can be short supply for food, water, dead branch on far sides of the map or a lot severe fear of unknown. Lastly clan members dont die if they are following you and if they are outside of the settelment. For example on the ocean area my adult character had smaller life expectancy than elder but elders dont died, I forget my one elder on some where and it dont die for probably 30ish days until i pass genaration(i can see from my clan hud) or one tiger dont killed clan member for literal 5 minutes (clan member try to attack but it failed and it wait for my help), i can give at least 5 examples like those. At the end of all i think game isnt bad i entertained but it has got problems to.

Most all YT content on COD is Multiplayer. So why the extra focus on BR here on mobile, i mean even on CODM, majority play MP. It’s just another foolish decision that ACTIVISION has made, and they’ve made many, oh boy. WE NEED MORE MP MAPS!!!. It’s like they being run by woke trannies or something, like Hollywood. Look at what Disney did, they absolutely MURDERED Star Wars, they completely fffd up the marvel universe, DR WHO is basically for LGBT crowd EXCLUSIVELY, straight people are not even been considered, Acolyte, I’m not even gonna watch that sh!t, Snow White, oh my word man, just watch some the the lead actresses interviews, it’s enough to put you off all of Disney’s sh!t. Look at it, when the game launched, was unplayable, and there was clear indication that they were not even BOTHERED about players with MID RANGE devices. Mid range devices are mobile gaming bread and butter, 90% of mobile gamers have MID range devices. Think about this for a second, PUBG and CODM, all can run very smoothly on mid range devices. And they have WAY more players than us here. It would seem that ANY game developer who wants to make a mobile game will focus MAINLY on mid range devices, that’s where the numbers are man, it’s just facts. Any GAME developer would have know this. Why then did ACTIVISION NOT focus on mid range devices. 2 reasons in my opinion, they had their PC and Console developers(you know the big 3) now make a mobile game, and these devs would NOT know much about mobile gaming consumers(big ffffn mistake if they did this). They just have the worst incompetent, uninformed woke fffn idiots in positions of power. People who are just DISCONNECTED from their consumers. I believe it is both, in this age we live in now, where people are given jobs based on their political views as apposed to their actual talent and industry knowledge. This is the great downfall of our society. Because of this, there will always be a disconnect between us the players, and these a$$clowns that call the shots. It is true for Hollywood, it’s is true for Government, it’s is true for everything it would seem, we are next… gaming is going woke, and all the developers are soon going to go broke…
