| The following documentary explores the surprisingly abundant evidence that nuclear weapons are a hoax. https://www.nytimes.com/1945/11/03/archives/seversky-limits-atom-bomb-power-likens-hiroshima-blow-to-one-by-200.html This man actually analysed the city of Hiroshima after the act and testified the following: "In Hiroshima I was prepared for radically different sights. But, to my surprise, Hiroshima looked exactly like all the other burned-out cities in Japan. There was a familiar pink blot, about two miles in diameter. It was dotted with charred trees and telephone poles. Only one of the cities twenty bridges was down. Hiroshima’s clusters of modern buildings in the downtown section stood upright. It was obvious that the blast could not have been so powerful as we had been led to believe. It was extensive blast rather than intensive. I had heard of buildings instantly consumed by unprecedented heat. Yet here I saw the buildings structurally intact, and what is more, topped by undamaged flag poles, lightning rods, painted railings, air raid precaution signs and other comparatively fragile objects. At the T-bridge, the aiming point for the atomic bomb, I looked for the “bald spot” where everything presumably had been vaporized in the twinkling of an eye. It wasn’t there or anywhere else. I could find no traces of unusual phenomena. What I did see was in substance a replica of Yokohama or Osaka, or the Tokyo suburbs – the familiar residue of an area of wood and brick houses razed by uncontrollable fire. Everywhere I saw the trunks of charred and leafless trees, burned and unburned chunks of wood. The fire had been intense enough to bend and twist steel girders and to melt glass until it ran like lava – just as in other Japanese cities. The concrete buildings nearest to the centre of explosion, some only a few blocks from the heart of the atom blast, showed no structural damage. Even cornices, canopies and delicate exterior decorations were intact. Window glass was shattered, of course, but single-panel frames held firm; only window frames of two or more panels were bent and buckled. The blast impact therefore could not have been unusual." Additionally: https://www.nytimes.com/1990/08/01/us/hiroshima-study-finds-no-genetic-damage.html This study was never published for some reason. I’ve been to both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The whole thing is propaganda. There isn’t a trace of residual radiation anywhere in either city. I checked using a Geiger counter purchased after the “Fukushima” nuclear hoax, which at the time I thought was real. The few bits of footage of the nukes exploding is laughable. It’s Hollywood effects, matte screens and identical mushroom clouds composited for different angles. Totally fake. There is a reason these magical super weapons have never been used for an act of “terrorism” or in any war zone since and it has nothing to do with mutually assured destruction, unless you take that to mean the global unravelling of the lie itself. It’s because nukes don’t exist, have never existed and cannot be made to work. They are a myth. While looking for info on how "feasible" an all out thermonuclear war scenario was, because I already figured that nuclear weapons are a joke and a remnant way of thought from the Cold War era of thinking, I stumbled upon this massive article about the supposed Nuclear Weapons hoax. Some highlights of it, after skimming through it last night include: - Nuclear weapons are a result of a collusion between USA/USSR (With Stalin keeping the East of Europe to remain a "threat" to the west) and Japan with many other countries joining later.
- Explaining the impossibility of making an Atomic bomb work in the first place, and why it cannot possibly produce radiation that can cause harm to any biological matter, including humans.
- The Hiroshima and Nagasaki "atomic bombs" were most likely faked: No nuclear bombs were detonated, Napalm carpet bombings were used instead, and nobody died from radiation. It also explains how could a lie like that be kept in Japan for 60+ years and shows plenty of photos from ground zero.
- "(...)Nuclear radiation is harmless. It is just easy to detect by Geiger meters, etc, but cannot harm anything. Only uranium and plutonium metal dusts are poisonous."
- Clearing misconceptions related to the Fukushima 2011 incident
- Explaining why the B61 nuclear bombs are a fraud.
- A timeline showcasing the USA-North Korea talks from 2017 and 2018 and explaining why they were only done to put on a show, because, it is very likely that North Korea, does not have any in the first place.
And many other stuff. Here it is, divided in 9 parts. The people and organizations creating the lies: https://heiwaco.com/bomb.htm The atomic bomb killed nobody in Japan : https://heiwaco.com/bombpart2.htm How does an atomic bomb work? Hiroshima and Nagasaki also never experienced anything like the hundreds or thousands of years of radiation predicted by nuclear scientists, in fact, vegetation began growing within a month after the bombing, and the Japanese people began rebuilding almost immediately! Some nuclear physicists even claim nuclear weaponry fraudulent based solely on the technical impossibilities of fission material not to be incinerated before triggering the necessary nuclear chain reaction. Tesla even famously tried to split the atom him self and came to the conclusion it didn't release energy: "Let me say that has nothing to do with releasing so-called atomic energy. There is no such energy in the sense usually meant. With my currents, using pressures as high as 15,000,000 volts, the highest ever used, I have split atoms — but no energy was released. I confess that before I made this experiment I was in some fear. I said to my assistants, ‘I do not know what will happen. If the conclusions of certain scientists are right, the release of energy from the splitting of an atom may mean an explosion which would wreck our apparatus and perhaps kill someone. Is that understood?’ My assistants urged me to perform the experiment and I did so. I shattered atoms again and again. But no appreciable energy was released." This was from an interview he did with time magazine back in 1931 so it made me wonder if these anti nuke guys were on to something. The government has a lot of reasons to create a weapon of mass destruction psyop it spreads fear porn thats one thing and convinces people they can cause nuclear armageddon at the flick of a button. Einstein as some people know tried to steal Tesla's spotlight putting him into obscurity but his technology and experiments were very peculiar and show us there's a lot of high strangeness about this reality that's still not well understood. Also In 1986, Galen Winsor a Nuclear physicist Exposed the Nuclear fear scam by licking a pile of highly radioactive uranium off the palm of his hand and ignite a chunk of plutonium into a shower of flaming dust to show how safe these materials were. 2024.05.14 18:20 Embire Svalbard's Land Sale: A Step Towards a Sustainable Future
In a bold move aimed at preserving the fragile Arctic environment, Norway is selling a significant portion of state-owned land on the Svalbard archipelago. This unprecedented decision, announced on May 14, 2024, marks a pivotal moment in the region's history, blending conservation efforts with sustainable development.
The Svalbard Archipelago: A Unique Ecosystem
Svalbard, located midway between mainland Norway and the North Pole, is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and unique biodiversity. Home to polar bears, reindeer, and numerous bird species, the archipelago is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and scientists alike. However, the region's delicate ecosystem faces increasing threats from climate change and human activities.
The Sale: Objectives and Implications
The Norwegian government aims to ensure that the land sale aligns with the principles of sustainability and environmental protection. Prospective buyers are required to present detailed plans demonstrating their commitment to these values. This approach is intended to attract environmentally conscious investors who can contribute to Svalbard's long-term preservation.
Balancing Development and Conservation
One of the primary goals of the land sale is to strike a balance between development and conservation. The government hopes to promote responsible tourism and scientific research while minimizing the environmental footprint. This strategy includes encouraging eco-friendly infrastructure projects and supporting initiatives that enhance the local economy without compromising the archipelago's natural beauty.
The Role of Tourism
Tourism plays a crucial role in Svalbard's economy, drawing visitors eager to experience the Arctic wilderness. However, the influx of tourists poses challenges, including potential disturbances to wildlife and increased carbon emissions. By involving stakeholders in the decision-making process, the Norwegian government aims to implement sustainable tourism practices that benefit both the environment and the local community.
Scientific Research and Innovation
Svalbard has long been a hub for scientific research, with institutions studying climate change, glaciology, and Arctic biology. The land sale is expected to bolster research efforts by providing new opportunities for collaboration and innovation. Researchers will have access to new sites for field studies, facilitating a deeper understanding of the Arctic ecosystem and informing global climate policy.
Conclusion
Norway's decision to sell land on Svalbard represents a forward-thinking approach to conservation and sustainable development. By prioritizing environmental protection and responsible investment, the government is setting a precedent for how fragile ecosystems can be preserved while fostering economic growth. As the world grapples with the impacts of climate change, Svalbard's example offers valuable lessons in balancing human activities with nature's needs.

2024.05.14 15:07 Outrage-Gen-Suck US Confederate Flag & North Korea flag crossed together - seen in Melbourne (Bayside Suburb)
| Ok, so a bit of an odd one here. Driving along Point Nepean Road (in the Bayside area) of Melbourne, I spotted these 2 flags up a flag pole ~ flying together. Seen it a couple of times. Tried to Google to find a meaning (nothing found). All I could find is this lapel pin - so it must 'be a thing'. I haven't put a street pic up just in case it causes any issue with the flags owner - but have a screenshot of the lapel pin as a reference. Just curious why these 2 flags would be connected and flown together. Just a weird combo to put together. submitted by Outrage-Gen-Suck to melbourne [link] [comments] |

2024.05.14 08:54 Meister_Cow Fitting Dielectric Data to a Cole-Cole Model
I am currently doing a research project in which I need to fit some dielectric data to a single pole Cole-Cole model, however am having trouble with the fitting function. This is my code currently:
% Read data from excel file, with data listed in 3 columns (called 'Frequency;, 'e_' and 'e__')
data = readtable("melanomatest.csv");
% Remove frequencies below 2GHz
data(data.frequency < 2e9, :) = [];
% Filter outliers using moving median
filteredData = rmoutliers(data, "movmedian", 50);
% Smooth real and imaginary components separately using Savitzky-Golay filter
fe = sgolayfilt(filteredData.e_, 3, 101);
fi = sgolayfilt(filteredData.e__, 3, 101);
% Define Cole-Cole equation
cole = @(p, xdata) p(1) + p(2) ./ ((1) + (1j .* 2 .* pi .* xdata .* p(3)).^(1 - p(4))) + p(5) ./ (1j .* 2 .* pi .* xdata .* 8.85e-12);
% Adjust initial guesses for parameters
p0 = [5, 31.4, 5.96e-12, 0.066, 0.005];
% Optimization options
options = optimoptions('lsqcurvefit', 'Algorithm', 'levenberg-marquardt', 'FunctionTolerance' ,1e-20);
% Fit the model
[p, resnorm, ~, exitflag, output] = lsqcurvefit(cole, p0, filteredData.frequency, fe, [], [], options);
% Check if the optimization was successful
if exitflag > 0
disp('Optimization successful!');
disp(['Residual norm: ', num2str(resnorm)]);
disp(['Exit flag: ', num2str(exitflag)]);
else
disp('Optimization failed to converge.');
end
% Plot original data, fitted curve, and residuals (optional)
times = linspace(min(filteredData.frequency), max(filteredData.frequency), 1000);
fitted_curve = cole(p, times);
residuals = fe - fitted_curve;
figure;
subplot(2, 1, 1);
plot(filteredData.frequency, fe, 'ko', times, real(fitted_curve), 'b-');
xlabel('Frequency');
ylabel('Real Component');
legend('Original Data', 'Fitted Curve');
title('Fitting Cole-Cole Model to Data');
subplot(2, 1, 2);
plot(filteredData.frequency, residuals, 'r.');
xlabel('Frequency');
ylabel('Residuals');
title('Residual Plot');
The fit produced does not accurately match the data points, and I think the reason is that only the first parameter (p(1)) is being adjust from the initial values, but the other parameters are not altered from their initial estimates.
Note: I am currently only fitting for the real part of the measured data ('e_') in this code, and the last portion of the code (from "Check if the optimization was successful" to the end was done with ChatGPT).

2024.05.14 06:54 btdz New build quote. Roughly one acre, 16 zones. $10k sound legit?
| I am new to all of this as of about 48 hours ago. I have a few months before any of this needs finalized and this is a first quote but it’s the same company that our builder uses for the landscaping so it was easy to get a quote. I plan on diving deep into irrigation after seeing this quote but looking for a gut check reaction from some vets. We have about 1.5 acres with roughly one acre being fenced & irrigated. Quote is all Hunter parts. Option to upgrade the controller for $300 to have WiFi options which seems like a good idea. I have to be honest, I thought this would be a lot more expensive than $10k just as a completely uneducated guess but I am curious- on a bare dirt install of this size from a reputable local company- how does this all look? Any red flags in choices of parts? Anything worth upgrading or changing other than controller? Number of zones sound correct for the size lot? Is the price overall reasonable for what’s included? Any other questions I should be asking? Thanks in advance ladies and gents! submitted by btdz to Irrigation [link] [comments] |

Romanza: North Florida Saxophone Quartet
Romanza Festivale presents the North Florida Saxophone Quartet as they perform a variety of familiar music in a live concert in the Courtyard of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, on Sunday, May 14, 2024, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The four saxophonists have each played with various ensembles worldwide, and North Florida music lovers have been delighted that each has made playing in this quartet a priority. They choose music from several genres — from classical to Disney — to create a lively show that audiences always enjoy. While the members of the North Florida Saxophone Quartet certainly focus on the sax, all of them are proficient with other woodwind instruments, such as the flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon.
- Paula Prince performs on the soprano saxophone and graduated from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
- Charles Almeida performs on the alto saxophone. He served in both the U.S. Army military band and the U.S. Air Force military band. In addition, he has played with several well-known big bands such as Harry James and Tommy Dorsey.
- Robbie Zukauskas plays tenor saxophone and played with the U.S. Army Band and the Florida National Guard Band. Robbie studied music at the University of Central Florida.
- Bill Prince plays the baritone saxophone. He's a professor emeritus at the University of North Florida and arranges most of the music for the ensemble. Bill has also performed around the world with famous bands and as a solo artist.
Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs.
Admission: Free.
When: Sunday, May 14, 2024, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, 37 Lovett St. in downtown St. Augustine. The concert happens in the courtyard and attendees are encouraged to bring their portable chairs.
This event is part of the Romanza Festivale of Music and the Arts, an annual festival of two weeks of historical, cultural, and creative events celebrating all things St. Augustine. From May 3 -19, the nation's oldest city will be jam-packed with music and dance concerts, living history events and historical tours, live theater, and art exhibits.

2024.05.14 04:16 moderndaywizard956 Fallout New Vegas (season 2 fanfiction
2296, The scene is set in a post apocalyptic Mojave desert, 15 years after a joint effort of the New California Republic, the Rangers, and the mysterious benefactor of the New Vegas Strip, Mr. House pushed back an attempted invasion of the Mojave and a final battle was waved for control of the hydroelectric powerhouse, Hoover Damm.
In the aftermath, Mr. House was removed from power discreetly, due to the actions of a wasteland wanderer on a mission for revenge, known only as the Courier. Mr. House's iconic Lucky 38 casino opened its doors, for the first time, offering a single floor casino and bar, it's upstairs remained an exclusive and mysterious meeting place for the New Vegas Strip's elite. The Lucky 38 represented one of the cleanest, most secure facilities, protected, like the rest of the strip, by the Securitron Mk 2, predominantly. Their presence ensured visitors on the Strip behaved themselves, though the other casinos maintained their own security and 'house rules' internally.
The Strip defined and maintained its status as an independent entity, determining through the Courier's observations that the NCR was stretching it's military might too thin, and couldn't realistically manage over the Strip and Mojave, so a new deal was struck, similar to the prior, but with The Strip extending it's Securitron security to enforce the immediately surrounding communities and a few outlying satelites. Trade to the surrounding areas increased, the Mojave benefitting from the prewar tech, pre-programmed security forces. The drug addicted fiends and other Raider groups would never be any match for their advanced weaponry, and ultimately were cleared out of existence.
The King's continued to watch over Freeside, making alliances with the Follower's of the Apocalypse... their desire to service the needs of the belittled, disadvantaged and destitute lined up, and this is where Mr. Wolf found his place in the story... the Courier and a Follower's doctor found love in the wasteland.... and raised a child together under a Ranger's flag... 23 years later? This is New Vegas...
A handsome man in a leather jacket sat in a dusty leather booth watching one of the girls dance on a pole, shaking her ass as bottle caps clinked on the stage in front of her. It was a swanky post apocalyptic casino strip club. A man in a leather jacket stood nearby, his hands crossed in front of his chest, "Kings" embroidered across the back in silver letters. A waitress approached him carrying a glass of some amber colored liquor, and sat it down at the half moon table. She lingered a moment in her lacey body suit, following his gaze up to the girl rubbing her tits in some older cowboys face.
"You don't get jealous seeing her like that, Mr. Wolf." The girl bit her lip and met his eyes as he picked up his glass and swirled it before giving it a smell and taking a slow swig. He tilted his head looking her over. She couldn't possibly be older then 19. Tight, perky little thing.
Mr. Wolf smirked and shook his head. "I like her... nice and wet when she comes to my bed."
The girl blushed and bit her lip. "So you like to watch?" She surmised.
"I don't mind, but why do you ask?" Wolf had these intense eyes that shot arrows into your very soul. It made her incredibly nervous... but she found it deeply exciting at the same time.
"Well... I'm living in 206 now... maybe... you might stop by sometime and I could dance for you? I know I don't have her body but... if you wanted something that was a little fresher... something... just yours?" She figeted her fingers against the table.
Jason looked her over once more and smirked.
"Two-Oh-six, huh?" He tilted his head, considering.
She nodded.
"Leave your cum soaked panties on my doorknob one of these nights if you really need it and maybe I'll come see if you got the moves." His Texan accent was subdued, but enthrallingly charming with his confident, somewhat bored with reality overtones.
"M-my panties?" She stammered turning bright red. "On your doorknob?" Alexa couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"If you're gunna shoot your shot with a dom... with an alpha... you need to be willing to submit. If you can't do that... I'm not interested." Wolf shrugged, completely unphased.
"But what about... what if..." Alexa glanced at Laura, the clubs most iconic stripper in the club, perhaps even the whole Strip.
She was taking some NCR soldier to the VIP lounge for a private dance.
Alexa had been bold enough to offer herself but now she was feeling nervous. If Laura wanted her out, she could lose her job... her home.
"Oh she won't mind... if anything she'll want to watch." Wolf shook his head, sensing her anxiety.
"Assuming of course... she likes the way you smell... she's funny like that." Wolf let the conversation end and Alexa nervously retreated.
Wolf sat drinking by himself, but got bored.
"Jakey, go get yourself a drink and sit down, I'm bored." Wolf called to his body guard.
Jacob looked over and nodded, giving the lounge one last look around before approaching the bar and getting himself a mug of beer, from the tuxedo shirt and boytie bartender Gerald, and returning to the table.
"What's on your mind boss?" Jacob had his hair slicked back in the usual King's gang hairstyle.
"Heard any rumors lately?" Wold looked at him, taking a drag from his cigarette and flicking the pack over to him.
"Honestly, boss, aside from the occasional drunkard or fiend rolling through freeside, nothing out of the ordinary... well, except... a way's out.. the crazy lady... Gloria was swearing up and down she found a headless metal suit of armor.. said the Enclave would burn down New Vegas. God's wraith and all that, you know how she gets."
"Enclave?" Jason's attention was piqued.
"Yeah, I don't know, she was probably just in withdrawal from the Jet... said she found it in the hollowed out shell of the Super Duper, out by the old highway." Jacob shrugged and drank from his beer and pulled a cigarette from the pack.
Wolf finished the last drag of his own cigarette. "Has anyone validated her claims?"
"Well... no... but... I mean... you've met her, she sees things that aren't there, all the time." Jacob shrugged and lit a cigarette.
Jason squinted, considering the resident crazy ladies most recent half coherent ramblings.
"That's an oddly specific hallucination though....take a group of guys out there tonight... humor me, and make sure she's not right." Wolf lifted his glass.
"Sir?" Jacob raised an eyebrow, thinking surely this could wait until tomorrow.
"Hypothetically" Wolf pondered aloud, "If there was... for some reason, there in-fact was... a pre-war, piece of military tech out there....a T-45, let's say, or T-60, best case scenario? We want it. Even if it's not at 100% capacity? It's fusion core alone... could change up the game for Freeside, something like that could make our tiny little city independent. We wouldn't have to be reliant on the scraps of New Vegas, and forget about the Hoover Dam completely."
Jacob caught Mr. Wolf's drift.. a fusion core could mean producing its own, radiation-free water, it's own electricity.. not just a little, a lot. Powering long dead machines, not to mention the agricultural benefits... producing healthier, higher yield tobacco... expanding their income ten fold.
Jacob suddenly felt like he understood Mr. Wolf's vision for the future.
"I should... go and deploy the King's to investigate." Jacob concluded.
"I think that would be for the best, I can take care of myself here." Wolf waved Jacob off.
Jacob downed his beer and excused himself.
Wolf drank the rest of his whiskey, extinguishing his cigarette.
Laura, the dancer came up to the table, and Wolf motioned to the blushing new waitress for a round, who felt a twinge of jealousy seeing her crush with the most popular stage act in town. She bit her tongue though, bringing over two more heavy pours of whiskey.
Laura eyed the girl as she came and went.
"She likes you." Laura concluded as the waitress walked away.
"Yeah.. I think she does." Mr. Wolf shrugged, flicking her a cigarette.
"The NCR boy liked me." She giggled wiping a little bit of cum from her lips and used half her shot like mouthwash.
"Get anything out of him.. other then.. his seed?" Wolf sighed.
"Of course," She grinned mischievously, "Apparently there's been trouble out West with the Brotherhood. They had some type of skirmish? Apparently NCR lost? NCR was apparently holding some old world tech, I don't know, but apparently it lit up the west coast power grid, like... in it's entirely?" Laura tilted her head to look at him.
"The entire western power grid was lit up by a single piece of tech??" Wolf shook his head at the topless girl beside him.
"Yeah, I had to make him cum twice for more details, but apparently it's the size of a grain of rice, with quote, unlimited energy potential." Laura relayed the information. It seemed more important then a suit of power armor or its fusion core.
"Who else knows about this?" Wolf demanded with his eyebrows squinted against his eyes.
"Anyone with a functional light bulb for... like... three hundred miles?" Laura guessed with a shrug.
"You said... it was the Brotherhood that took the win on the skirmish?" Wolf clarified some details.
"Yeah... rumor has it they have a new up and coming knight that's making waves." Laura shrugged.
"Stay on the rumors... I need details." Mr. Wolf nodded at her, drank his whiskey and stood up, downing his drink.
An energy source that powerful would have a big effect on the balance of power in the Mojave. It could mean a resurrection of the New California Republic to it's former glory and then some, and potentially... might mean a renewed effort to reclaim the western part of the former United States, in time.

2024.05.14 00:50 MyUncannyValley WIBTA if I confronted a teenager about riding his bike through my yard every day?
I moved into a new house in a suburban town about 2 years ago. I came here from 20+ years in New York City so I sometimes question my judgement, as in “is this normal in the suburbs and I’m just thinking like an asshole New Yorker?”
The house I bought was previously occupied by an old lady and then sat vacant for about 5 years before I bough it. So the yard was overgrown and it was generally rundown.
The house is uphill from a high school. Lots of kids cut through our neighborhood yards to and from school, as following the streets would be an indirect and uphill trek. And since my house was quiet & seemingly empty for years, no one thought twice about using our yard as a path.
When we moved in, we immediately started renovations & repairs. It was visibly obvious a new owner had moved in. The first few weeks, a kid who was cutting through our yard actually rang the doorbell to introduce herself to ask if it was ok to walk through. We appreciated her gesture, of course said yes and it was no big deal, and she has continued to use our yard as a path. She’s respectful and always says hi.
But this one other teen guy is awful. While the other kids walk, he rides his bike (one of those thick-tire beach dune bikes that shouldn’t even be used on the streets) and zips through our yard at high speed with headphones on. More than once I’ve been in our backyard when he rides through and he doesn’t even acknowledge me. Like, you’re literally in my private backyard and you’re just pretending you don’t see me? And as we’ve improved the property, we now have landscaping, flowers, fresh grass, etc that he just rides over with his bike, tearing it up. But the last straw was when my toddler daughter who is just learning to walk was playing in the backyard and he zipped through and swerved around her, narrowly avoiding hitting her, and again he just ignored us and kept riding.
I love that we’re in a small community and I’m happy to give kids a safe way to walk home. But this kid is going over the line. Would I be the asshole if I waited for him, flagged him down, and told him to stop riding through our yard? Or if I posted in the town FB group a description of the kid and his unique bike to try to talk to his parents?
Is this just what happens in small towns and I’m expected to deal with it?

2024.05.13 21:37 will12398743 $YOU the company bougie travelers love to hate.
Hi investors,
I am relatively new to investing so I am hoping to get your feedback. I did a deep dive into $YOU as sort of a practice run so I get more acclimated to the value investing landscape. YOU is particularly interesting to me because it is a simple business, which as a newbie, is important because I can easily gauge its strengths and weaknesses. It has easily identifiable green and red flags.
$YOU is CLEAR which is basically a service where you pay $189 a year to skip the TSA line at the airport to get to the bag-screening portion. With Amex platinum and other various products you get CLEAR membership free or discounted.
YOU management has plans to offer other vertical products as they are an identity verification service. You might've seen their identity verification using Linkedin. They are also trying to break into medical, sports arenas, and enterprise account recovery. Personally I only see value in the latter. They also mentioned possible upsells at the airport like holding your bags. I think that is nonsense.
Green flags:
- They generate a 33% FCF margin
- Their growth potential is relatively large
- There are other valid applications of their product that they may be able to capitalize on
- They choose strategic locations to open new locations to strengthen their network.
- They are looking to expand in Canada and Mexico.
- They are shareholder friendly (dividends and buy backs)
- They operate in a town that can only support one business. I think it is extremely unlikely for newcomers to enter the market.
Red flags
- They are one regulation away from being in financial ruin. Calfifornia legislators floated banning CLEAR.
- They are one mistake away from being in financial ruin. Imagine a scenario where a potential terrorist gets through their security. Although they still have to pass TSA, this risk may be limited.
- Their shares are extremely diluted approx 146m
- Expanding to scountries may be overly optimistic (what sane government wants a US company to have their citizen's biometrics?
- Limited growth prospects. I know I listed their growth as a pro, but the con side is that there is a ceiling to who can enroll. Think like six flags. If everyone has a flash pass, nobody has a flash pass. You need people to be in the slow line for the fast line to add value. Notwithstanding, there is room to sign up significantly more people and expand locations.
- A significant portion of their revenues depend on partners like AMEX.
They currently have 6.8 million clear plus members. Approx 49% of Americans reported taking a commercial flight in the past year. I would guestimate that at least 30% of those people take 3 round trip flights or more a year. That leaves a population pool of 44.6 million people whom CLEAR might be an appealing service to (provided they are available where those people are traveling).
Based on their core business, my DCF (based on FCF) of 30% annual growth of 6 years will return $15.98 of value to shareholders and they will achieve 19.4 million paid members. I used a 11% discount rate.
My EPV analysis found that they are worth $3.16 a share with growth factored in.
Obviously not financial advise. I am curious what you might think of the company.

Previous First Series Index Galactic Map State of War Map RoyalRoad Patreon Discord MNS Trassau
Speinfoent turned around to face Loenda and reported the battlegroup status. “Commander, all ships have successfully completed the blink. Squadrons 4 to 12 all reporting in.”
“Good. Now let’s find out if this ridiculous scheme of yours gets all of us killed,” Loenda said. “Are you sure your sire and dam were not Grass Eaters?”
Speinfoent ignored the jab and continued with the report, “Our sensors are still resolving the enemy ships, but I am certain we are in the right place.”
ZNS 1841
Ditvish woke to the urgent cry of the ship’s klaxon. Wiping sleep from his mind, he picked up his communication device. “Did Skvanu get the raiders from Sixth Fleet?”
“No, Ten Whiskers, you must come to the flag bridge at once!”
“What is it this time? Can’t you ask your combat computers?” he grumbled tiredly.
“Ten Whiskers, the enemy fleet is here!”
He woke up in a hurry. “What?! Here? In Datsot?!”
“Yes, they just blinked in! Their fleet is heading our way, and they have just gone into a full combat burn!”
MNS Trassau
“We are seeing two to three squadrons of space combat ships, mostly Forager-class missile destroyers, and their Thorn-class battleship, the 1841. In orbit of Datsot are another thirty-two orbital support ships and several dozen other support vessels,” Speinfoent reported. “The enemy combat ships are stationary and in a loose formation. It looks like we did catch them off guard.”
“For now,” Loenda hedged. “They’ll be ready and engines hot hours before we come into range. And we don’t have the Nile’s magic sensors working with us this time.”
“No, but we did get the other fishing supplies in the last shipment.”
“We have only been exercising with those for a week!” Loenda exclaimed. “It is risky for our first live use to be against a fully capable combat fleet.”
“I thought you didn’t believe in exercises…” Seeing the ugly expression forming on her face, Speinfoent hurriedly moved on. “Anyway, the missiles will work. They may be barely fastened to the outside of our hulls, but I’m sure they work. After all, we didn’t make them.”
Loenda counted up the enemy ships on her console and did some calculations in her head. “Against my every instinct, we will go ahead, but with the most risk-averse option you came up with earlier. Execute Option Charlie.”
“Affirmative. Maintaining burn. Execute vector change in three minutes…”
ZNS 1841
“Ten Whiskers, they are performing an orbital transfer,” Ditvish’s computer officer called out, eyes glued to the glowing screens of her console.
Ditvish leaned forward. “What is their heading and intercept now?”
“It appears there is no intercept. If they continue their current burn, they may eventually move into a parallel orbit to us.”
“Parallel orbit? That doesn’t make sense. They didn’t come here just to make us wet our pants. Ask the combat computer, how far from us will they be at their closest?” Ditvish asked, puzzled.
A minute of calculations later, she relayed from her console, “It depends on whether they execute another vector change, but at their current burn and at their closest, they should come no closer than twelve times the maximum effective range of our missiles.”
Ditvish peered at the sensor panel, racking his brain for ideas.
None of this made any sense. Skvanu reported in earlier with a blink relay ship since the FTL radios were not working. In the data packet, he said that he was chasing three squadrons of the enemy fleet and planned to run them down with the superior blink fuel capacity of the Znosian ships — these must be the other nine squadrons from Sixth Fleet.
What were they doing here?
If these Lesser Predators forced him to engage in fleet battle here, they very well might have an upper hand, with their nine squadrons to his mere three. But they weren’t cutting him off aggressively or forcing an engagement. If they did move in boldly, he could always back off… delay until Skvanu finishes, returns to Datsot, and coordinate to trap this fleet in the system. But the enemy seemed almost… disinterested in combat; it did not even look like they were going to transfer into range.
“What are your orders, Ten Whiskers?” the computer officer asked.
For the first time in a long time, Ditvish felt at a complete loss. “None for now. Continue to observe the enemy and stay on high alert. Be prepared to move. And update me when Eight Whiskers Skvanu reports anything.”
MNS Oengro
The vacuum of Plaunsollib once again filled up with the communication chatter and munitions of the Malgeir fleet.
“Weapons-free… Kraken away.”
“Bandits deploying glow-worms.”
“Anchor gadgets to Jackal. Tracking.”
Grionc sat back and watched the controlled chaos of the Oengro bridge unfold as they engaged the outnumbered supply convoy escorts in front of them as they continued to stay one step ahead of the massive armada right behind them. The task remained familiar. The practiced crew could have completed this in their sleep. The stakes were higher now, but the job remained the same.
“Vampire swarm. Defending.”
“Popping confetti and turning up the music.”
“Vampires trashed.”
Either through luck or because they had gotten really good at it, most of the projectiles the eight escorts launched at them went wild, flying off into space chasing dazzler signals in errant directions. A few did come closer but were fooled at the last second by decoys and other countermeasures. The remaining were shot down by the Malgeir’s native close-in defense systems that were now being boosted by superior gravidar sensors aboard the Nile light seconds away.
The enemy convoy was not so lucky. Their sensor signatures disappeared from Grionc’s console, one by one.
“Splash four Forager. No, make that five.”
“Kraken away. We have two more on the way. They’ve gone pitbull.”
“That’s splash six and seven. Can someone confirm number eight?”
“Check. I have number eight.”
“Roger.”
Finally, Captain Vastae turned to Grionc to confirm. “High Fleet Commander, the supply convoy has been destroyed. Looks like the supplies self-destructed too.”
Grionc nodded in acknowledgement, not taking her eyes off the sensor console.
To underscore how common this type of success had become, even the crew’s cheers were subdued. In tonnage, this was no less a victory than it was the first time it was pulled off, but this was a crew who had been there before. They’d seen it. They’d done that.
And there were still the hundreds of enemy combat ships trailing them. Some were getting uncomfortably close to entering their missiles’ maximum powered ranges. None had fired yet; the Znosians were not so undisciplined, but it was close enough to make Grionc nervous.
She nodded at Captain Vastae. “Follow the vector we have been provided towards the systems limit. I don’t want to be one second behind schedule.”
ZNS 2228
Eight Whiskers Skvanu had known from his hatchling-hood that he was different than the others. His educators and caretakers always complained he asked too many questions and never took enough responsibility for his own actions. He learned to suppress the questions and to fake contrition, even when it didn’t make sense, saving those thoughts for the privacy of his own brain. He found this practice useful, and he used it to quickly ascend the totem-pole of rank in the Znosian Navy.
A meritorious society with supposedly transparent accountability, it should not have been so easy for him to breeze past promotion after promotion in his career. But when it was so easy for him to think for himself and simply obscure failures when they occur, his competitors didn’t stand a chance.
That was until he met Ten Whiskers Ditvish.
There, he met not only a kindred soul, but also one who could see right through him. At times, the senior fleet master made him feel like a fraud; at other times, he felt special, as if he’d been given a gift. Under Ditvish, he thrived. He was given more responsibility than normally assigned to regular eight whiskers officers by Ditvish, and here he was proudly commanding the bulk of his fleet.
Skvanu was determined not to let his mentor, and increasingly his confidant, down.
He looked at the sensor panel on his console. They will catch these Lesser Predators.
“Eight Whiskers, we still can’t talk to the Datsot fleet on FTL radio,” his computer officer reported. “I take full responsibility for this continued failure.”
“Don’t worry about it, Six Whiskers,” he replied casually. “We expected this to happen. It must be those Lesser Predators. Either a device on their fleet, or somewhere else hidden in this system. It is truly a war-changing upgrade, in ways that they might not even fully understand. Once we defeat them, we will take apart their wreck bit by bit and chase down every lead until we find it.”
“Yes, Eight Whiskers,” the officer replied. She hesitated for a moment but then decided to speak her mind. “I am— Don’t you find it deeply unsettling to know we are out of contact with the fleet master and— and the rest of the Prophecy?”
He looked up at her, gazing into her frightened eyes. “No, not at all. In fact, I am comforted by the silence. No micromanagement. No orders from above. Just our own wits to survive and win this battle. Full responsibility, for my actions, for all our actions. Today, there is truly no one else to blame.”
“Yes, Eight Whiskers,” she bowed, thankful for his insight and her confidence bolstered by his self-assurance. “That is an enlightening way of thought.”
“Indeed, it is. And besides, we still have our blink relay ships, even if they are slow in getting information through.”
“Yes, Eight Whiskers. Another has just departed with news of the supply losses.”
“Now, tell me what the enemy has done since they rejoined Six Whiskers Mgnats and his ships with the Prophecy,” Skvanu ordered, looking at the console in front of him. The enemy’s three squadrons had taken apart the eight escort ships like they were a knife through water without losing a single ship. It would have been difficult to believe had he not watched it happen through his sensors in real time… Almost real time. The two-hour light speed delay meant that his fleet died before they saw it get engaged. But the fleet was closing on the cursed Lesser Predator ambushers…
“They had been a half leap ahead of us the whole time, but the combat computer evaluates that one of their ships may have been damaged in the… skirmish with Six Whiskers Mgnats.”
Skirmish was an… ambitious word choice, Skvanu thought. Slaughter might have been closer. He prompted, “How did the combat computer come to this assessment?”
“Their acceleration is now slightly but measurably lower than when they went into the fight. It’s about a ten percent reduction. It thinks that one of them sustained minor damage and the rest of the fleet is matching its acceleration profile to mask the identity of the wounded ship.”
Skvanu frowned. “That does not seem right. Is there any evidence that Mgnats’ ships scored a hit on the Lesser Predators?”
“No,” she admitted. “Our sensors saw no debris. But it may be an accident, friendly fire, or some kind of a technical malfunction aboard one of their ships. The combat computer is speculating. But they are moving slower now: that much is clear to the sensors.”
“How does that affect our intercept timeline?”
“Given our current vector and accelerations, we will intercept slightly after they reach the system limit. They will probably attempt to blink out, but all we have to do is observe their blink vector and follow.”
Skvanu nodded. “And at that point, for all the upgrades these Lesser Predators have received, there’s only so much blink fuel they could have retrofitted a combat ship to carry. They can’t have improved their blink range much. Not enough to overcome our two-to-one fuel capacity advantage, at least. Today, the predators shall become our prey.”

2024.05.13 17:28 chuck_chuck_chock New massive Lidar dataset for 3D semantic segmentation
| My team and I at IGN (French Mapping Agency) just released the largest aerial Lidar benchmark dataset for 3D classification of points clouds! It can be used for research or to pretrain segmentation models. If you or your colleagues are using deep learning to classify point clouds, this could be of interet. :) FRACTAL is 100,000 point clouds, each 50 x 50 m, sampled from 5 French regions, with a focus on spatial diversity, landscape diversity (urban, coastal, mountainous, forested, etc.), object diversity (greenhouses, non-residential buildings, power poles, etc.), and with rare classes well represented (water, perennial topsoil, bridges). We hope this dataset will orient research on 3D semantic segmentation towards considering the challenges of 3D mapping of extremely diverse areas. https://preview.redd.it/qt5w752mp70d1.jpg?width=747&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2739fa8bdc04022f628dfb78c32fbee642a83041 submitted by chuck_chuck_chock to LiDAR [link] [comments] |

2024.05.13 12:09 Secure-Economist-266 Toy Story 3 Video Game Codes For PS3
| I was unsure where to put this but I've found 4 codes that work on the PS3 version of Toy Story 3 (please not I haven't tested it on other consoles). Also please be aware I'm unsure if some codes are also region locked but these ones should work for Australia (and Europe maybe). - The Knight's Game Pack which was released with other packs with the Walmart Editions of the game (also I don't know if any other packs also had a code). It cost 500 coins at Al's Toy Barn in Toy Box Mode, it has a knight costume for the human townsfolk that has a silver head piece with a red mohawk down the middle, its worth 40 funny points and 10 cool points. It also has a knight clothing that comes with a sword with chain amour and red cloth with the yellow sheriff star outline on top, it's with 50 funny points and 10 cool points. The alien townsfolk have a costume of a jousting knight with a plain knight helmet that covers only the top part of the head with a dome shape, its worth 10 cool points. There is also a jousting knight clothing that is white amour with a black and white spiral jousting pole, worth 10 cool points. It also comes with building customisation options: the first is a wall customisation a blue stone wall to match the medieval theme, a darker rich brown wooden trim for the excess of buildings, a dark rich brown wooden door with an iron frame and gold door hinges and gold door knocker hoop. Iron trimmed windows with gold slanted crossed lines as a pattern with black insides, a medieval shield and spear for the sides of buildings (one object but on both sides), medieval castle spire with a flag pole on top for the top of buildings, and for the yard: a King Arthur sword in a stone and a training dummy pillow with a target in the middle.
- The Gladiator, unlike what some people think which is that it would add a character that is a Gladiator Toy, it actually adds a gladiator costume for the townsfolk that are human.The hat is worth 10 scary and 10 cool points, it's appearance is Roman with a bronze metal material with a red hair clump sprouted from the middle. The clothing is a bronze chest plate with a bronze bracelet on each hand with brown sandals, the clothing is worth 10 scary points and 10 cool points.
- The Patriotic Hat and Big Band Hat, which is two hats for the human townsfolk. The Patriotic Hat adds an Uncle Sam based hat with it being a white top hat with a blue part down the bottom with white stars inside with the top part of the hat having vertical red lines down the side. It's worth 10 cute points, 10 funny points and 20 cool points.
The Big Band Hat is a orange marching band hat with a white feather stuck to the top. Its worth the same as the previous hat before of 10 cute points, 10 funny points and 20 cool points. - Which is the only one that doesn't involve customisation is the 2000 coins in Toy Box Mode Code. Which isn't reusable and can only be used once.

2024.05.13 12:03 TheScarletShadowYT Vetex should make Pocket Planes tbh
| Pocket Planes are false dimensions related to the type of magic the caster uses. They require the maximum amount of magic attribute spent into a build and they vary between every type of magic. For example: Wood Pocket Plane (Lifetree of the unforseen dawn) A black and endless lake inside a dark blue void, filled with spheres of radiant light floating in the sky in a circular and meteor-like fashion, a gigantic tree with golden leaves stands in the middle of the lake. Everytime a petal falls on the ground, an explosion of water creates where it fell (can't damage the caster). Also you can walk on the water. Iron Pocket Plane (Birdcage of the prison realm) A yellow void with enormous chains hanging onto nothing, in the middle, there's a huge birdcage that stops anybody from entering and exiting. Enemies inside of the birdcage will periodically get attacked by chains that they must parry. Plasma Pocket Plane (Endless Nebula Spacestorm) A purple void inside a huge nebula, enemies inside take constant, unavoidable burn damage. Fire Pocket Plane (Forge where it all began) A scorched plain surrounded by a fire ring, enemies touching the ring take burn damage and are pushed backwards, explosions randomly manifest anywhere on the ground. Ice Pocket Plane (Pillars of the thousands poles) An icy landscape enclosed in ice pillars temperature is constantly low and the ring shrinks whenever the caster uses ice magic. Enemies touching pillars become frozen briefly. submitted by TheScarletShadowYT to ArcaneOdyssey [link] [comments] |
2024.05.13 10:41 RockWolfy You’re following Finfluencers wrong. (Opinion Piece, Long Read)
Hello ISB,
As the title suggests, this is purely my subjective opinion on the role of finfluencers, the cult following they sometimes garner, and also the criticisms and hate they get.
Since I’m clearly stating this is just my opinion - I’d be really glad if this starts some discussions in the comments and look forward to hearing other perspectives. I’ll not be responding to comments which are purely troll comments, because I feel that's one of the issues on subs like ours.
The gist of my opinion is this -
there are definitely hundreds of charlatans and frauds, and on the other side there is no perfect “mentor” or “guru”, but there are some decent ones - we’re just “following” them incorrectly. The idea behind this came from a couple of posts where some finfluencer tweets or opinions were posted here to the usual rampant hate comments and trolling, and I felt there were very few comments which actually contributed something, or started a conversation.
A last quick note - I, personally, have a strong dislike for this business, because of the number of innocent/gullible people it preys upon. In several posts and comments from my history, you can see that
I genuinely NEVER want to share any “gyaan” to anyone when it comes to strategies or stock recommendations because I feel I’ll be going down the “stock market guru” route and I wouldn’t be able to live with that.
So here goes.
- Let’s get this out of the way - the job of a finfluencer is to pretend like he knows more than he does. The only question is - does he know more than YOU? If he does, then there might be something to be learnt from him.
- "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings." - Shakespeare Here’s the thing - we want to be spoon-fed. Let’s take the example of a very commonly hated finfluencer here in ISB - Akshat S. The standard length of his videos is around 20-25 minutes. How many people do you think actually sit and watch the entire thing? Then how many go and check his sources, and look up some fundamentals of that company? Then look up the industry standards and sectocompetitors? I am very sure, 90%+ of viewers basically forward to the part where the YouTuber gives the answer to “BUY/SELL/HOLD” . That’s it. The YouTubers NOT giving these answers in a clear YES/NO format (because they don’t really know with 100% surity) will rapidly start losing subscribers and viewers.
- Sensationalising works. Just like politics, nuance is not a tool for those who hope to make any sort of mark. If you have the time or energy - try doing this experiment. Compare 10 videos on youtube where the thumbnail just states levels or some macro economic marker vs 10 videos where the thumbnail says “KAL MARKET CRASH!”. Look up the views. Again, they’re doing their job, because their “job” here is to get views. The semi-respectable ones at least tone down the actual content in the video while the truly sleazy ones will continue the fear mongering even in the video itself.
- They survive on ambiguous answers because they’re asked the wrong questions. Almost every single viewer cares about either ONE specific stock in which they have obviously messed up their position sizing and over stretched or “KAL market kahan jaayega”. The YouTuber doesn’t have any clue about either of these but they need to say something. They MIGHT have a pretty good idea where the market could go in the next 6 months and what the next resistance or support could be on a monhtly chart. But no one cares about that, because long term investors don’t look up Youtube videos, and certainly not on a daily basis.
- Even among the knowledgable ones, most of their expertise is in Macro Economics and Fundamentals, both of which are boring. So they need to resort to making videos about Magic Indicators and FIB retracements and Flag and Pole patters. Look up a Finfluencers history of uploads and you can often see the “devolution” of their content from stuff that actually had some value to the usual template that is working for other channels.
- Sticking to the similarities with politics - they're going to be wrong and they're never going to admit it.
What, in my opinion is the RIGHT way to follow a fininfluencer, and why do I say there IS a right way? Addressing the second point - I feel there is a right way because I have multiple stocks and even a couple of strategies which I learnt from watching these videos and understanding the CONCEPT behind what they’re saying.
So, how would I suggest someone follows them?
Critically. Question everything, and ASSUME they’re sensationalising and overstating. Take everything with several heaps of salt. However, maybe, just maybe, they are on to something.
As I stated in my very first point - the first requirement is that they should know more than YOU, and some of them DO know more than us, either because of their qualifications, experience or just the amount of time they can give to researching and surveying the market, which others might not.
Whether it is a macro economic concept or a particular stock which might be at an attractive level, they can
DRAW YOUR ATTENTION to it. That’s it. Now your work begins.
My other strong suggestion would be -
do NOT pay anyone anything hoping for gold mine of knowledge. All of these creators struggle with a conundrum - providing their paid followers with quality while also wanting to give it out freely so that more free followers become paid followers.
Eventually, almost everything that a paid community is getting will trickle down to the free content they are putting out. I have personally spent over 2 Lakh rupees doing courses and memberships and now don’t pay a single rupee to anything of the sort. I also discourage people who ask me from doing so, because I have personally seen that I could have gotten all that knowledge from free resources, just that we don’t value what we get for free.
So that’s my rant, and hope there’s some value in there somewhere. I wanted to stay away from any specific names either in a positive or a negative light, but just discuss the broader topic.
“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” ―
