Spring is winding down, summer's on it's way; would love to get a little cash to fund the summer fun (and the next parts order). Still, trades are always on the table. Don't be shy with the cheapies.
TLDR
I got:

• A bunch of unique handmade stuff, including fuzzes, drives, and filters.
• Some 9V/12V practice amps I made from old speakers.

• I mean, basically, if you want a pedal, especially a handmade one, and are willing to send me something of reasonable value for it, you have a good shot at getting it.

DIY STUFF
(If you are NOT into handmade stuff, scroll down because I have some other items at the end.)
This is hand-built stuff that I made, mostly relatively unique or heavily tweaked designs built on vero or point to point. Many are housed in upcycled tins, a few in Hammond boxes. They all run on standard 9v pedal power. These aren't clones for the most part, unless they are; but normally I actually monkey about with the circuits quite a bit or just test out wacky ideas. If you want something nobody else has, you're in the right place…
I have the handmades valued in 4 tiers:

• D tier are my trashy cheapies, made from reclaimed components. I don't feel right asking a lot for reclaimed components. I value them in the $40 - $50 range, not really picky about what I trade for. I might even take dirt pedals for these. Only got one left, trying to phase out this tier.
• C tier are the cheapies made with new components. I value these in the $50 - $60 range, not very picky here either.
• B tier are my average builds, I will trade for pedals in the $65-$90 value range, depending on the complexity of the build. A little pickier, but still pretty open.
• A tier are my happy happy builds, usually more complex or just nicer quality. I will be picky about trades for these. (But still not Boutique prices; I have no delusions). It's probably less about value here and more about how much I actually want the thing you have. Think in the $90 - $130 range.

Space Fuzz	B+	PIC DEMO	This is a Hollis crash sync fuzz that I souped up with an LFO to modulate the filtesync frequency. Really wild flangery/phasey type gated fuzz sound. At the right settings you can get some octave-down effects as well. Housed in a ~3.5 inch square game tin reinforced with recycled plastic. Pretty pleased with this build.
SwirlFuzz	B+	PIC DEMO	Modulated octave fuzz prototype. It's an octave fuzz, but you can switch on an LFO to modulate the octave amount. Controls for Rate, Depth, Gain, and Volume, plus switches for waveshape and mode (Normal/Octave/Modulated). In a circular tin reinforced with recycled plastic.
Baller Fuzz	B	PIC DEMO	Another Bazz-Me-Fuss-You build with an added BMP-style tone control. In a slightly beaten-up heart-shaped basketball tin. Y'all ready for this?
Big Green Fuzz for Attractive Bass Players	B	PIC Demo	Like my bazz-me-fuss-you circuit, but with a big muff tone stack, a clean blend, and optional clippers for more compression. Housed in a big round tin reinforced with recycled plastic and designed specifically for attractive bass players. Unattractive ones may not really gel with this.
Creature from the planet Chyowngg	B	PIC Demo	Prototype of a unique fuzz I've been developing that I call the Chyowngg fuzz. It's a 2-stage octaver that gives a bright synthy tone with a distinctive envelope (hence the name). You can toggle each stage from octave to non-octave mode for a variety of interesting timbres. Also has a tone control, but the tone control is before the octave stages so it results in interesting behaviors depending on the switch settings. It's in a tin meant to be painted like an alien, though some say it looks more like a triceratops.
Dumbo's Bazzrite Fussrite	C	PIC Demo	A bazz-fussified mosrite fuzzrite circuit I cobbled together in point-to-point wiring style. Housed in a little Dumbo puzzle tin with GLITTER! Controls are for balance (kind of tone-cum-gain) and volume.
Wiff Spwinkles on Top	C	PIC Demo	This point-to-point fuzz lives in the same neighborhood as the Harmonic Percolator, but has a few differences. I altered the way the gain knob works, and added a switch to toggle bass cut. It's housed in an ice-creamity welly tin.

Good for low-gain crunchy tones and plenty of output volume on tap if you want it for a boost. Tone circuit is like a BMP stack but with a mid hump instead of a mid cut. Housed in a painted 125B.
Copper ZenerMorph Drive	B	PIC Demo	This is an experiment in zener diode clipping. Nice crispy drive that gets beefier as you turn up the gain, lots of good edge-of-breakup tones to be had. Housed in a decorated tin reinforced with some recycled plastic.
Shining Hope Drive	B	PIC Demo	Differential mirroring drive, gives a kind of overdriven-mixer-channel distortion. Controls for gain, tone, and volume. Housed in a star-shaped Christmas tin.
B is for Beast	C	PIC DEMO	This fun little drive/boost consists of two cascading MOSFET gain stages with optional clipping in between. It goes from clean and loud to massive wall-of-gain distortion nicely. Controls for gain, clipping, and volume. In a small heart-shaped tin about 4in by 4in.
Green Sparkler Boost	D	PIC	Just an Escobedo Duende JFET boost built point-to-point in a sparkly little round tin. Gives a little gain and a bit of warmth to the tone.

It runs from a standard 9v pedal power. It's not terribly loud, nor terribly clean, but if you dig the classic mac vibe it might be fun. Controls for gain and volume, and a power switch on the back.
Nosy Amp	$75	PICS DEMO	Another solid-state amp based on the Ruby amplifier, housed in a repurposed bookshelf speaker. This one actually has pretty decent volume, even on 9V (can run on 12V as well for more), and can stay clean while getting loud enough for a quiet jam with friends.
Fleur-de-Lis Amp	$90	PICS DEMO	A tiny bookshelf speaker turned into a practice amp. This one features a class D power amp for lovely cleans, and a custom designed discrete preamp that gets punchy & crunchy when cranked. Runs on 9V but pretty loud nonetheless.

MOTU	MIDI express	Good	This is an antique MIDI patchbay and interface. It's pre-USB and uses the parallel cable (PC) or some kind of Apple-specific DIN cable (Mac). Could be used standalone, or maybe you're into retro MIDI setups? Comes with box and cables anyway.

• A reverb with a really good plate algorithm.
• Compact 12 channel mixer. Preferably a Mackie VLZ or similar.
• Isolated pedal power supply.
• Genuine e-Bow. Already own 2 clones, looking to try the real shebang.
• A multiple-MIDI I/O unit.
• A 1-U rack-mount mixer.

  • Especially fancy DSP type pedals (the kind I can't build), or a nice analog flangechorus.
  • Decent analog pedals that need repair. Expect a lot of questions and not much value, though.

A Note about mods/repairs/custom jobs: Feel free to shoot me your ideas, but probably I'm leaning toward not doing these. Expect to pay/trade way more for something custom than what I ask for the pedals I've already built.

Hi everyone,
I just adopted this sweet girl from a shelter 1 week ago. They told me she is a 64 lb 3 year old lab, likely mixed with pitbull. They mentioned she was probably used by a backyard breeder and dumped, bevause she showed signs of multiple litters. They said she was seen on the streets for awhile before she was brought in, too. They also mentioned she's good with other dogs, cats, and children. So far, she has been very sweet and calm at home, she likes to lay around and is really gentle with my 3 year old. The main issues I'm running into are her behaviors on walks, and her behavior around my cats. She pretty much only knows "sit" and will do so willingly if she sees a treat, but without that we have to repeat it multiple times and push on her butt before she sits. I owned small dogs as a child, she's the first big dog I've ever owned and the first dog I've had in 15 years. I had originally planned to get a smaller dog, but fell in love with this one and couldn't leave her. I'm a stay at home mom and online student, so I am with her all day and able to give her time to make this work. I just need to know how.
On walks: We have a few issues on walks. The biggest being if she she's another dog she charges, barks and howls. I don't know if she's trying to fight the other dog, or play, but the dog can be pretty far away and I completely lose control of her. I have her on a slip lead, which was recommended by the shelter. She will pull and practically choke herself out, but it doesn't seem to bother her because she will continue barking/flipping/pulling long after the dog is out of sight. I have to basically drag her back home, barking and whining the whole way. I take her on about 4-5 walks a day, so this happens on at least 3 of the walks each day. I took her to the dog park in my neighborhood, when another dog showed up she sniffed him through the fence, and seemed pretty calm/happy, but we left anyway because I was concerned about her playing with a dog when I can barely get her to listen to me.
In the house: She has the entire downstairs, my cats have the upstairs. At night, the dog stays in my room and sleeps well on her own dog bed. The main issue we have is whenever the cats do come downstairs she gets excited. She'll run to the gate and whine/bark at the cats. The cats have checked her out, and smacked her a few times for being too close. She mostly just sniffs at and licks them, her body language seems playful. I try to call her over and redirect her by offering a treat whenever she looks away from then and sits, but unless I stay on her and shovel out endless treats, she goes right back to barking and whining at them.

Hi everyone! I'm currently looking for any feedback on the first chapter of my short novel, which has just reached the second draft stage. It's about the main character being forced into eliminating the heads of an island conquered by vampires. The title is referencing a blood moon which remains present only on the island, always draping it in darkness and making it perfect for its inhabitants. I see it as a gothic Suicide Squad with less characters.

The chateau remarked itself as the jewel of the street.
The building rose above its accompanying homes, two stories larger than its nearest neighbours. A grand display of the original owner’s wealth, it now belonged to the vampires, like the rest of Prache. Looking down the street, Hitchforth recognised it from afar, his target for tonight’s mission. He watched stylish vampires enter through the front gate, greeted by ushers at the entrance, checking their invitations. Checking the inner pocket of his greatcoat, he searched for the invitation given to him, satisfied it was there. Hitchforth looked to his left and saw the rookie’s for tonight’s mission checking for his invitation. The rookie searched throughout his body, appearing to have lost the card, but found it before Hitchforth could scold him, offering it to his Educator.
The rookies they gave him rarely survived his missions. Sometimes he thought they were sent as a punishment, a test to see if they could survive. In his old age he had seen countless rookies, forgetting countless names and faces. This one beside him seemed nervous, adjusting his collar, wiping the sweat from his brow, avoiding eye contact with Hitchforth. This one might as well have been sentenced to an execution. What was his name? Anton? Arthur? It wouldn’t matter in the end, but the rookie’s nervousness could jeopardise the mission entirely.
“Tell me,” he said, seriousness in his tone. “Are you afraid of me or the vampires?”
The rookie fidgeted with his fingers before responding, wiping his brow from the new sweat that dripped. “B-b-both, sir.”
“Breathe. Fill your lungs and empty them. Like this.” Hitchforth demonstrated for the rookie, taking extra care to show the slow speed of the action.
The rookie did as instructed, inhaling and exhaling deeply.
“It helps?” Hitchforth asked.
“Yes sir,” the words spoken with more clarity and calmness.
“Good, let’s go into the lion’s den then.”

They approached the front entrance, lining up to be ushered in. Carmilla’s festivity had attracted the richest of Prache’s vampires, adorned in foreign jewels and extravagant clothing. The rookie almost slipped on an exceptionally long dress, caught by the cuff by Hitchforth. Looking behind him, he saw the fury in their red eyes, that Humanity’s Hope had been invited. Reaching the usher, Hitchforth handed his and the rookie’s invitations, inspecting the vampire’s face. The slightest twinge of shock showed on his face, but was quickly concealed with a stern, professional demeanour. He waved them both in, shooting a questioning glance as they passed by.
The building appeared larger inside than it was outside, if possible. The minimal red torches fitted on sconces and the amount of vampires fitted into the building helped accentuate its size. A sea of suits and dresses spread throughout its floor, different colours and materials shining in the ambient light. Imported marble made up the floor, dark and white tiles patterned intricately. Large windows draped by exotic curtains furnished the walls throughout the building, paintings spread in between the spaces. Hitchforth could just make out the paintings as portraits, the closest to him being a group of five vampires.
What surprised Hitchforth the most was the sounds that filled his ears. Music played by a orchestra filled the building with the sounds of strings, woodwinds, percussion and brass sections. Pushing past the crowd that had congregated near the front entrance, Hitchforth saw dancing. Vampires dancing in line with their partners to the music, alternating between partners, spinning with arms outstretched.
Behind the dance floor a grand staircase rose from the floor, providing access to the two other stories of the building. It was there that Hitchforth saw the target for tonight’s mission come down the stairs, stopping high enough to be seen, but low enough to be heard. Immediately the orchestra ceased its playing, the dancers also ceasing their dancing. The congregation around the entrance strode to the dance floor, taking Hitchforth and the rookie with them, waiting for her words.
She was tall and deathly beautiful, more civilised and confident than the others. She wore a dark crimson dress, accenting her red eyes and slender face. Her moonlight coloured hair draped straight down past her shoulders, shining despite the lack of light. Her red lips parted into a savage smile, displaying the pointed canines she shared with every member of her race. Hitchforth noticed she looked directly at him, her eyes sizing him as a lion would to its prey. Carmilla Sanguine had arrived.
She spoke to the guests, keeping her eyes on Hitchforth. “Welcome all, to the festivities of tonight. I hold today’s ball as a celebration of our independence as a species, our freedom from humanity.” The guests cheered at the words, delighted at the words. “And please give our warm Prache hospitality to our sanctioned guests of Humanity’s Hope, who have joined us.”
The vampires did not cheer at those words, hushing and hissing silently as they turned to see Hitchforth and the rookie. It was easy to find them, both wearing their issued dark green greatcoats. Hitchforth had refused formal attire for the event for himself and his rookie, knowing they would stand out regardless.
“Enjoy your time tonight and as always, long live our king.”
“Long live our king,” the crowd shouted out in unison, mirroring Carmilla’s words.
Carmilla stepped down the stairs, her guests returning to conversation and dancing. She mingled with her guests, leaving Hitchforth and the rookie alone.
“Sir, what now?” the rookie asked.
“She will come to us, she can’t help herself,” Hitchforth said whilst looking over her watching her conversations. From a distance he could still see the power she held, the fear in the faces of the vampires she held conversations with. From what he had been told, the heads of Prache kept to themselves mostly, only communicating when necessary. The mission would not be hindered by reinforcements, or so he had been told.
Carmilla made her way over to where Hitchforth and the rookie stood, flanked by two bodyguards in suits. She looked over the rookie, smiling and looking into his eyes. Hitchforth saw the rookie smile back, his nervousness gone. Already her mind games had begun.
“Hello, Carmilla,” he said, breaking her eye contact with the rookie.
“Greetings, Educator Hitchforth. And who might this be here?”
“My rookie. You know my name?” Carmilla had come closer to the rookie, stroking his cheek with her hand as Hitchforth spoke. Hitchforth saw the sharp nails on her hand, softly grazing the rookie’s skin.
“Isn’t fresh blood the best? We don’t get a lot of humans here, I’m sure you know.” Carmilla moved her hand away, turning and answering the Educator. “Of course, who doesn’t know the only Lycan Educator in Humanity’s Hope? I’m sure everyone here has smelt it already.”
“Fair enough. Can we talk in a more…,” Hitchforth looked around, noticing most of the guests were paying attention to their conversation. “Private place?”
“Of course, Educator. Allow me to lead the way,” she said, taking hold of the rookie’s hand and walking ahead. Hitchforth stared at him from behind to let go yet he continued, unable to escape her trance. Playing along, he followed Carmilla up the stairs, leaving behind the vampires to dance and socialise below.

Carmilla lead Hitchforth and the rookie up the stairs to the second floor, passing through multiple hallways and doors to reach their destination. The building’s halls and rooms seemed to continue endlessly, doors leading to more doors and longer hallways. They walked down a long staircase, perhaps made for the servants of the building. They walked through a large hallway containing Carmilla’s thralls, lined up against the wall, saluting as she passed. Eventually they reached a cold room with a large table in the centre with a fireplace emitting red flames. Red ash was a new invention created since the vampires had conquered Prache, a harmless light source for their needs. They had invested heavily into the island as their home and Hitchforth knew they would not give it up easily. Looking above the mantle place, Hitchforth noticed the familiar painting from the ballroom.
All the five vampires matched the descriptions he was told, to the point he could recognise them all. At the forefront sat Harrow Sanguine, the self-appointed king of Prache. He looked younger than the rest of his family, his ashen skin painted flawlessly. His fierce eyes stared back into Hitchforth, instilling fear from even his heart. To his right stood his wife, Rose Sanguine, who bore a strong resemblance to Carmilla, matching hair and all. To the king’s left stood Varney Sanguine, wearing his familiar grey suit and matching brown flat cap. Standing next to Varney was Father Nostra, the religious leader of Prache, wearing his black cassock. Finally, standing next to her mother was Carmilla Sanguine, identical to her real life presence.
“Where are we?” Hitchforth asked.
“A meeting room under the chateau. We won’t be disturbed here.”
“And your guests? They won’t be afraid you’ve gone missing?”
Carmilla laughed. “Those fools will be too blood drunk in the morning to remember their past few days. Our meeting will be fine.” She ordered her guards out of the room, instructing them to stay outside, just in case. “The guards will be waiting outside,” she said, warning in her tone.
“What do you want?”
“When my father sanctioned a member of Humanity’s Hope to visit the island, I was surprised they chose you.”
Hitchforth shrugged. “I’m expendable.”
“Yes, they do see you in that way, and that may be so. But I see more.”
Hitchforth furrowed his eyebrows. “Like what?”
“I see opportunity. I see power. I see a new path.”
“Care to explain?”
“You are the only Educator that is not human. On Prache we can give you freedom, like we have achieved.”
Hitchforth thought over what Carmilla said, processing her words. She had to have been desperate to separate him from any prying eyes, eager to keep her plans secret. The only choice was to continue.
“I see. They say a hand that lends help is matched by a hand that waits repayment. What is the repayment you seek from me?”
Carmilla smiled more than she had before, looking more unnatural than she ever had before. Her smile outstretched to the corners of her face and Hitchforth thought he saw her eyes darken lustfully. Not lust for blood, but lust for power. “The crown. With my connections and Humanity’s Hope, we can topple my father’s regime. He is outdated, out of touch with the population’s desires and needs. I can give it to them.”
Hitchforth scoffed at the words. “And you believe Humanity’s Hope is willing to partner with a vampire?”
“They partnered with you didn’t they? I see no difference.”
“I have no partnership. Something much worse.”
“It doesn’t matter. My father is eager to enact revenge for the prosecution vampires have felt for millennia. I am willing to move on.”
Hitchforth looked to the rookie, who had remained silent throughout the conversation. He sweated through his coat, leaving visible stains. The trance Carmilla had put him through had broken, putting her attention to Hitchforth. He could feel the slight strings pulling him in the direction she wanted, appealing to his emotions and desires. He considered over her terms, it made sense to accept the deal. Why would he protect his captors? His mind travelled elsewhere, to a farmhouse and her tending to her flower garden. He thought of her smile, and the little one that accompanied her.
“Do we have a deal? You have no choice either way, Educator,” Carmilla said, snapping Hitchforth back to reality.
He looked to his rookie, signalling under the table to warn him. Hitchforth saw him nod subtly, trying not to give away the motion.

My wife and I were high school sweethearts. The first year of dating was extremely rough. Both because we were immature teenagers, and because of HEAVY trauma we were each bringing into the relationship.
We both did some pretty awful things, that would never happen again today. We are practically different people. The main "big" thing the happened on my wife's side, was cheating. Getting into the relationship, she was a bit promiscuous and engaged in other dangerous behavior, primarily because she was molested, damn near her whole childhood. And the poor coping didn't stop once we started dating. There was a period of time where we couldn't see each other AT ALL due to COVID as well as my homophobic parents. She did not handle this well, obviously. She ended up cheating with a mutual friend of ours. Part of what sparked that mutual friend specifically being the AP, is that they were both molested as kids and were experiencing a sort of trauma bond. It started as an emotional affair, and escalated to the point where she had the AP in her bed, tried to cuddle, but then kicked the AP out in disgust of herself after the first cuddle attempt. No sexual contact. Of course, a BP can never TRULY know. But I have my reasons to believe this is the series of events. Including talking to the AP myself. Anyway, DDay and the subsequent couple weeks, were the most painful of my life. By far. And I've been though some shit. But we loved each other and chose to reconcile.
And we did! Years later, we even got married. We have such a healthy marriage, I feel so lucky. There is a lot of trust between us. I literally don't worry about her cheating again. Once I woke up in a sweat, dreaming about her cheating. But then I went back to sleep because reality hit me, and I was like "wait she would literally never do that (again)," and I went back to sleep. The key to this level of recovery was definitely her starting to heal from her trauma and not let it drive her actions. Besides the topic of trust, it's just an amazing relationship. Theres so much affection and support. We'd do anything for each other, and we show it all the time. The sex has also gotten better as we go deeper into the relationship. Sex is a very emotionally intertwined thing for us. For me, the improvement of our sex life has been directly related to our bond strengthening.
The point I'm trying to make, is that we're recovered. We are in a genuinely happy marriage, and the trust has been built PAST where it was before it was broken. I feel almost like we're an ideal story of reconciliation. Almost!
The problem I'm facing is that it still hurts. I don't worry that it'll happen again. But what HAS happened, hurts like hell. I was abandoned by my parents as a baby, and lots of experiences past that in life has severely damaged me and likely are the reason I developed BPD. The abandonment of feeling betrayed by my now wife, similarly sticks to me. I feel like it's a mark on me I will never wash off. When I look at my wife now, I don't even see the same person that hurt me back then. But the hurt still happened. It just hurts my heart. I don't know how to cope with how I've developed, because of all the abandonment and betrayal in my life. I have such an intense fear of abandonment, and it comes out in horrible ways. Basically if you just do a little research about BPD, that's just what my life is. It's incredibly painful, and it sucks that my wife who is NOW the best version of herself, contributed to me being damaged in this way.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that cheating fucking sucks. Because you can rebuild the trust, rebuild the relationship, but you can't undo what is done. That's the part I'm struggling with.

AuPair now since 2019, started in England and went then over to Ireland 2020. Let’s say I had great experiences, and very shitty ones. I went from getting used & treated like a slave to getting treated like another daughter.

Well I went over there more as an emergency change, which almost killed me mentally, since the family I worked before that kicked me out after working with them for 9 months, never had an issue but after they got married the HM changed drastically. Didn’t pay me for three weeks, and didn’t let me close to the kids. I tried talking to her after her honeymoon but she was literally hiding at her husband work so I wouldn’t come and talk to her. Shushed me when I was talking to the kids - kiddos even started crying in front of her for me so much about that. Anyway- I met my boyfriend here almost two years ago so I said my current HF is the last one. Single mother of three. She has crazy work hours told me about that and said that I have mostly Sundays off and that she will make sure I have enough time to see my boyfriend at least once a week. I was fine with that and even agreed on every two weeks, but this women is making my life a living shit show. In the first month everything worked out great, but now every time I have a day off there another work day after and then again a day off which makes visiting my boyfriend very hard if the grandma is not covering work for me. Next thing- She said they are living in a little village, which was also more then fine with me cause I love the peace and quiet, she didn’t mention that if the bus is not coming regularly that I need a lift to get into town- that’s not even what annoys me the most. She mentioned that she has a boyfriend, and that she would love to spend a bit more time with him and i was also more then okey with that and felt very bad for her cause she’s on her own. Little did I know what I was agreeing on. What was once a “can I go see my boyfriend after work and stay over there and you get the kids ready in the morning for school and I be straight home after work the next day-“ turned now into it happening at least 3-4 times a week and she doesn’t even ask me anymore, she just writes it down in the schedule and that’s it. Like I get that you have your own life but seriously I’m not a stepmother. To be fair I only work from 2-8 when she’s home, but if she’s not home, I have so much work. I have the kids during the day, and over night. I get loads of other extra work from her for in the morning, even tho she’s not paying me for that time as I’m not with the kids. Example - two weeks ago she stayed home from work cause she thought the house was very dirty. She send me a list of at least 14 things which she wanted to get done so I offered my help for the “kids related” things. In the end of the day I cleaned from 8:30 in the morning till 5 while she was in the garden painting a little kids house and kiddo chairs, which would have taken at least an hour max two if not less. She’s the most selfish person I ever met and I really start to hate her. She always buys me stuff, to cover up the fact that she is using me. She’s going now in a week on a four day holiday with her boyfriend while I have the kids for those days which include two weekends days, then she goes to work for four days and goes then on a holiday with the kids for a week. I would have loved to book a holiday but she’s underpaying me so bad that I can’t do anything and looking for babysitter jobs is impossible with her schedule and her private life. I’m about to get my own life sorted, and told her about that so I can’t wait for September. Thanks.

While motorization rate says a lot it's not the whole story, it doesn't show how much the car is used inside cities. And even there you see how much predominant cars are in daily life. Modal share of cars is always above 60% inside cities, even those with high bike usage. Cities in Austria and Germany average 30-40%.
What are you thoughts on why this is, also who visited the country?
Italians are car slaves like the US with a very different GDP. These are my thoughts.
1) car culture was brought into politics, and being very inefficient and unstable never actually cared to make national plans to increase sustainable modal shares
2) local administrations don't limit car parking enough even in walkable and cycling friendly cities, there's still the idea that parking is a "right"
3) 2. leads to a lot of illegal parking (cause the space is not enough) and those are tolerated by everyone, both citizens and local police
4) lack of transit networks, seen as "for the poor", Italy has the lowest rate of subways and trams density, they "invested" all into buses which are usually stuck in car traffic and with a limited service, usually for those unfortunate to not have a car (lower income people and students)
5) outside the city centers (the LTZs) urban quality is generally very poor, anti-pedestrians and anti-cyclists, places you're not really invited to be in, just to pass by (with a car)
6) cycling infrastructure is simply ridiculous, even those cities that have pretty decent high cycling share are poorly maintained, shared with pedestrians, are not linked together or and end up when it's actually needed (always based on the idea that cars are more important and you should not disturb them), the only expectations are maybe cities in South Tyrol like Bozen/Bolzano.
7) the current Minister of Transportation is about to make things worse: he proposed a law where speed checkers will not longer will be legal inside cities within 50km/h and suburban roads within 90km/h, which is basically 95% of the roads, limit the autonomy of local administration to build bike lanes and pedestrians area and much more. A direct attack to livable cities policies. I am a two time Iraq veteran, and I just lost my mom. I met an individual, I will call him Bob. At first it was romantic, but I quickly realized he was a piece of shit. Anyways, I had already bought stuff to replace my floor, and agreed to let him continue to do some work. During this time money would go missing, but I thought I had misplaced it. Well he continued to be a piece of shit so I fired and blocked him. Then two weeks ago he got ahold of me telling me he was going to be evicted and begging for help. I had some work I really needed to be done and agreed. When he came he brought this greasy guy with him. It was very uncomfortable. Then a couple of days later I found out they stole a checkbook and wrote out $6,500 in checks to themselves. I called the police and the bank. My issue is Bob was on probation, and I know of several times he has violated it. He stole my old license plates and was picked up driving with no license, insurance, and stolen plates. They let him go with a fine. Bob has been harassing me telling me if he goes to jail it will be my fault, and that he wants to see me face to face. I have also found out that Bob is known to retaliate to his victims and has a history of domestic violence. He also stole my keys and had copies made. So I got a protection order. But the cops can’t serve it, because he is hiding. My sense of safety has been destroyed, my PTSD symptoms are out of control, I am having a $4000 security system installed. Bob is also saying that he is on meth and can’t control his actions. I feel like the system is FAILING. Why do they keep letting this violent drug abusing offender out? He has been caught breaking the law multiple times while on probation and all they do is give him fines. Now Bob is saying he is going to treatment so he doesn’t go to jail. This is bullshit, if he has a meth problem why wasn’t it showing up on his weekly drug tests. And if it was why isn’t he in jail? I need help and the cops aren’t doing it, should I get a lawyer? The victims advocate can’t help me until they serve him, but he is hiding. And I know that I should have done more background research on this individual, but I had just lost my mom and wasn’t in the best frame of mind.

I grew up getting mixed advice on relationships, and my personal experience has shown me that the truth can vary depending on the woman, her attachment style, past experiences, and childhood.
I’ll try to keep this short.
I always heard that as a man, you shouldn’t be all over a woman, constantly telling her how much you love her and showing her love and attention all the time. The idea was that this could turn her off because women naturally need to look up to a man to be attracted to him. The moment they feel 100% secure that you like them and have no eyes for anyone else, they might involuntarily lose interest.
On the other hand, I was also told that in a relationship, you shouldn’t hold back or play games and manipulate to spark attraction. If you can’t stay true to yourself, there’s no point in playing that game.
I’m still young (mid-twenties), but based on my past relationships, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. What do I mean by this?
You definitely don’t have to be a "nice guy." You should speak your mind without a filter, disagree with her, and express your opinion, especially when it doesn’t match hers. You shouldn’t be afraid to offend her or speak your mind on something she might not like. By doing this, every time you show her love, appreciation, and security, she knows it's genuine and not just a tactic to please her and get something in return.
It's very important to shower her with love and affection if that's how you genuinely feel. You shouldn’t refrain or limit yourself out of fear that she will get turned off. However, it’s true that some girls, actually most girls in today’s society, might get turned off by that. This doesn’t mean you did something wrong; it simply means she is probably emotionally broken, perhaps due to past relationships or childhood trauma.
To conclude:
Don’t be a spineless "nice guy" just because you want her to like you. Boldly speak your mind and voice your opinion, even if it goes against hers. Don’t refrain from showing her all the love, affection, and security you want to show her. If showing her love, affection, and security turns her off, it’s not about you. She might be emotionally broken, and the relationship wasn’t going to work in the first place.
I would love to hear the experienced opinions of older men/women in this subbreddit, I'm just in my midtwenties and this is what I've learned so far based of my experience

I go on multi-day bike trips often. They are commercial trips and I do them because I am solo, want a safety net and like having arrangements made for me(no camping for me and no room sharing). The next one up starts out of Montreal on June 2. 6 days with a short first dat - total of about 250 miles/ 40 daily avg. It's definitely doable.
The weather is finally cooperating so bye-bye BikeErg for the time being but thanks for the conditioning. The test part is using the next two weeks to figure out the fueling - it is definitely a balancing act. I moved to 7.5 from 2 months of 5 last Friday and definitely different. Pretty much no side effects but no appetite at all.
Athletic knowledgable son is adamant about getting the carbs* in& I think he's right. Skratch is my go to drink and it's still a go(test ride yesterday) and I'm looking at granola/nut bars,too. Love Barebells but melting issue. For this bike company, regular Gatorade is often provided and saved me on humid days(not much humidity where I live).
Long story but I also feel like forcing myself to eat may well be just creating a different issue. This is the first of 5 trips plus a one day charity ride. I will have to know what I need and it's an experiment.
*I was solidly on the protein track before Z because of....aging.

I'm at a loss as to what to do here and need some advice.
A few days ago, my best friend Matthew sent me a screenshot of an ad on Facebook for a car. The ad was put up by his coworker, a guy named Derrin who Matthew was friends with on facebook. Matthew knew I was in the market for a replacement to my current vehicle which is a rusty deathtrap that is leaking oil constantly, and when he sent me a picture of the ad, I was ecstatic. The car was insanely priced for the mileage, but as it was posted by Matthews coworker, I didn't see the price as a red flag. The post said they bought a new car and want to get rid of the old car to make space.
I text Matthew that I'm very interested in the car, and that I'd love to get in touch with Derrin. Matthew writes back that he doesn't have his number, but he'll message Derrin in Facebook and pass along my phone number and let him know I'm eager to purchase the vehicle.
Matthew goes on to tell me that Derrin's a good, trustworthy man, and we both relished in the possibility I might be finally rid of my deathtrap on wheels.
A few hours later, I get a text from Darrin saying he saw Matthew's message and that the car was still available. They sent a few photos of the vehicle and for the most part, they looked great. The car matched up to the post, and the multiple photos were of the same vehicle taken at the same time. I was excited. Derrin requested a deposit of $500, and I accepted. I asked for a venmo account to send the money to and was given an @ handle with someone else's name on it (a woman's). Now, I have couple friends that use one another's venmo accounts, so this didn't strike me as odd at the time. I sent the $500 and was told by Derrin we would be setting up a meet to test drive the car and if I didn't like it, I'd get my deposit back. Sounds great.
I text Matthew that I put a deposit down, and we both share the excitement of a new car for me.
Then comes the next day.
Matthew works nights, and Derrin is part of the day shift that replaces Matthew at 5 in the morning. As he was clocking out, Matthew saw Derrin getting ready for his day shift, so he goes to Derrin to talk about the car. However, Derrin has no clue what car Matthew is talking about. When Matthew showed Derrin the ad, Derrin was shocked. He never put the ad up, and it quickly dawned on both of them that someone had hacked into Derrin's Facebook to put the fake car ad up using his account.
Matthew immediately texts me and tells me to cancel the venmo payment, and briefly explains what just happened with Derrin. I jump onto venmo and open a ticket to try and save my money.
I'm a bit bummed, but $500 is not the end of the world. Other people have been scammed for much more, and while I don't have a lot of money, I'm not taking a massive hit financially.
Matthew, however, feels terrible. He feels guilty for having passed along the ad and giving my number to a scammer who then successfully stole $500 from me. He texted me that if Venmo doesn't get my money back, he will rectify it, meaning he'll likely pay me $500.
Well, Venmo reached out and said I'm shit out of luck and that no payment cancellation or refund would be possible. Now here is my dilemma:
I don't want Matthew to give me $500. I don't blame him at all for sending me the ad. He was just being thoughtful and knew how desperate I was to replace my crappy car. I don't blame him for not seeing the red flags because, even in hindsight, I'm not sure I would have ever seen them. I never imagined someone would hack a person's Facebook to put up a fake ad. How lucky they were that Derrin didn't log into his Facebook sooner to see the messages inquiring about the car. It's brazen and stupid, and somehow it worked.
The only person I blame is the scammer. Both me and Matthew are a victim here, and I don't see why Matthew should lose $500 just because he was being a good friend. I haven't told him yet that venmo can't recover my money, and I don't know if I even should. As far as I can tell, my options are:

1. Tell Matthew venmo can't recover my money and he pays me regardless of my insistence that I don't want it.
2. Lie to Matthew that venmo was able to recover my funds so he doesn't feel obligated to reimburse me.

What should I do here?
Tldr. Friend and I get scammed, and he wants to pay me back my lost money. I don't know if I want it.

My friend recently registered(5000/-) for vision IAS Indore branch. Their actual fee is 1,70,000/- but they gave her 50% discount that made her fees only 85,000/- for 2 year program.
Their promise was to give her every facility, including study materials, test series, and the obvious. The classroom program includes full preparation for prelims, mains, and interviews, all for only 85,000 rupees. This offer has her father feeling very skeptical. We tried asking about the coaching, and apparently there's only one branch of Vision IAS in Indore, so they aren't fake. However, this all feels like a scam.
Anybody from the city can confirm if it’s legit? We don’t have any source to get the confirmation. Also I was browsing vision IAS website and they don’t show Indore branch for General studies registration, that just hike up our doubt.

I get out of the army at the end of this year. It’s crazy how I’m about to leave the service after 3.5 years. I came in with the mindset of going special operations and dying in combat. I would see so many posts on instagram of fallen heroes that were SOF. One of the main ones was extortion 17. I was so inspired by these elite people that sacrificed their lives for their country. And because of that I wanted to do the same. I wanted to be the best version of myself. During the end of my senior year of high school, I wanted to commit my life to helping people and being the best. I was already picturing myself in Regiment with a tan beret. Coming into OSUT, I was in decent shape and had a good mindset. It was my first time being away from family for a long time which made me depressed, but I pushed through with the mindset I was going to be in Regiment and be the best version of myself. I passed the PT test and classed up to RASP 1 from pre rasp. But a couple days later, I got Psych dropped. This shattered me and my dreams. I then get sent to the big army as a 11b. Constantly thinking how much life sucks. 6months past by, I don’t have the drive to go back to rasp. Spent the next 2 years doing stupid 11b stuff. It was a waste of time in my opinion because I was surrounded by dudes that didn’t care and were fat. I hated it, my leadership was garbage. Then while at the gym seeing some SF guys. My spark came back and I went to SFAS a couple months later. Seeing how those guys portrayed themselves and acted made me realize I still want it. I ended up failing land navigation. I was even more depressed now. Just thinking im a failure in life after failing rasp and SFAS. I wanted to be in sof and sacrifice my life just like the people before me did. I wanted to be a hero. I start second guessing my self and losing a lot of confidence. I felt like I was suppose to belong in sof. Now I’m about to get out of the army not doing what I dreamed of. I get out knowing I failed and will never be the man I wanted to be. Im still grateful for the experience but I feel the depression out weighs it. Make sure to go to sick call if your hurt or EBH. Don’t listen to what your leadership says about you. I wish I did early on honestly. I plan on going to college after I get out now since I have the GI Bill, so pretty excited about that! I’m going to continue to lift and run. I plan on running a marathon after I ETS. Learned so much about myself during my time in and from others. Recently I just started using my laptop as I have been out of town, on my downtime I have been playing games like Battlefield 2042 and League of Legends, and all was well until two days ago. I got onto battlefield and the frame rate was 10fps, I checked to see what was wrong and my laptop was not detecting my 4060 and the game was running on my integrated graphics. I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled and it was back, but now any game I would launch would cause a BSOD of VIDEO TDR FAILURE for the nvidia dll file. I used DDU and rolled back my GPU driver to two last months and the BSOD stopped, but I got a WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR once and that was it. The problem now is that whenever I try to launch a game it will just crash, if I launch Abiotic Factor it will tell me there was a fatl error with unreal engine, if i launch league it will tell me that there was a problem with my gpu and Windows had to restart it, sometimes with when im watching a show, the screen will just freeze and I have to hard reset my pc and reinstall the gpu drivers. I used heavenes benchmark to stress test my gpu and after 15mins nothing crashed and nothing was wrong. The times when it crashes are also really inconsistent, sometimes I can play for 2hours, sometimes it will crash 5 times in 30mins. My laptop is the PH16-71 on the 4060, I need help as this is a new laptop. Thank you.

I’ve done some traveling and big road trips I love driving/traveling. We can share road trip stories if you have any :). Now with the weather getting nice and hot I want to get into hiking just more involved with MOTHER NATURE.
I don’t really play games anymore but I did use to collect games so I can share that much lol though I did play a lot before graduation.
Favorite movies/franchises/shows, my favorite anime and fictional series is one piece, if you also watch/read one piece I can talk about it endlessly. Spider-Man I’ve been all over recently, always been a spidey fan and when I can read the comics. Zelda and Mario and some of my favorite game franchises. I played other games I’m not just a Nintendo guy dw. I’m always up to watch something new like a movie or tv show so recommendations are open, genre don’t really matter.
Music, I listen to really all kinds and appreciate from all genres except metal or just screaming sorry metal heads. Mostly as of now I’m getting into or listening to just pop, r&b, indie, classic rock, new wave, reggae rock, salsa, rap/hip hop (mostly older stuff). I’ll take any recommendations if you follow a genre I like 👍
