So my girlfriend upgraded to a Macbook Air M1 from her old Windows (HDD) laptop and since we didn't want to put any unnecessary strain on her Mac's SSD, I decided to get her an external disk that she can download her torrents to. Said disk is connected to our router via an Orico USB 3.0 enclosure. Our hardware specs / setup is the following:

1. Macbook Air M1 8GB RAM - the computer that qBittorrent and the Plex server are installed on
2. TP-LINK Archer AX50 - the router to which I have physically connected the external disk
3. WD 1TB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s 5400 RPM HDD - the first disk I tried
4. Kingston A400 240GB SSD - the second disk I tried
5. Gigabit internet connection with no throttling / "anti-torrenting policies"

No matter what kind of qBittorrent settings I tried (using both libtorrent versions of the application), we always get write cache overloads and terrible download speeds of up to 2MB/s, which fluctuate greatly. I initially thought that it may be the HDD's fault, which is why I replaced it with the SSD, but the outcome was exactly the same - there is write cache overload of up to 70% - 80% even at super low speeds. In contrast, I download at around 40MB/s on my Windows PC (internal disk), so the internet connection is not the problem, per se.
Do you have any idea what I should consider changing in terms of qBittorrent settings? Any advice will be greatly appreciated :)

mental illness seems to run in the family on both sides with alcoholism being pretty prevalent in a lot of both my mom and dad’s relatives. my dad’s brother killed himself with a gun when they were in highschool and my dad found the body. ultimately he became a pretty abusive alcoholic, and he was really prone to mood swings looking back at it. I was put in therapy after my mom divorced him but we never really talked as a family. my older sister inherited his hip deformity that made him unfit for the catholic high school his brothers all went to, and a virus that caused her to have emergency surgery at birth (which left her deaf in both ears, and she stands 4’7” at 25 years old) he picked on her and our older brother a lot, and we all struggle socially. My brother kept to himself a lot until he died at 19 in a freak car accident on a road trip with his friends. Guy with dementia snuck out and got in a car with his dog at like 2am, took an exit ramp onto the highway going the wrong way right as they took the same one, spun out and all then all lights went out, so they got rear ended by a tractor trailer. that model of jeep had a defect where the trailer hitch would break and push in to the gas tank, causing an explosion. happened a couple times prior and was actually almost recalled years before (-: trucking company policy was call your superiors before anyone else, phone records reflected that phone call did in fact happen while those kids were burning to death. i dont blame that poor driver knowing what little i know about trucking and their work conditions, and i got half of a music degree paid for by my share of the settlement. i’ve always felt like that would not have happened if these were not several upper middle class suburban families who were affected by the tragedy, who could afford to pursue legal action for years against an entity like that. I think the community rallied to donate some but even then, it was a fairly affluent community
the last time i saw my dad was at my brothers funeral. i was 14 and it had been a couple years already, but he aged so poorly much i mistook him for his dad who had died a decade prior. i don’t think we spoke until a few years later on the phone, and it was the last time we spoke. he was antagonizing my mom with his usual nonsense that she was making him out to seem like a bad guy to us, and that she was secretly in love with her cousin (who she has always been very close to) — i told him to go fuck himself — that was a reccuring taunt of his our whole childhood, which i always thought was weird but never thought much of it. eventually my brother no longer wanted to visit my mom’s extended family once he had a say in it, and he never really wanted to talk about it either. a few years after my brother died, we were visiting the cousin in question, when i woke up just in time to see them kiss. I went back to sleep like I saw nothing and my sister texted me in the morning telling me she saw the same thing.
Apart from the yknow, incest, she remarried two years before my brother died- so naturally we confronted her about it and she just sort of fawned and said she had too much to drink and that it won’t happen again. they always get too drunk together at family events and I have glimpsed kissy face emojis and other suggestive language on her phone that she obviously was trying to shield with her hands.
Now I’m questioning pretty much everything. I don’t think it was long after that when my dad went missing, which my mom only noticed because he hadn’t sent birthday cards for a whole year, and within a year of that he was found in florida, dead on the street with fentanylin his blood. he was either dosed or killed himself. My family told me he died of natural causes accelerated by his alcoholism when it first happened and didn’t mention the fentanyl until very recently. Im wondering what else could they have they lied about or just have not told me because they don’t think I need to know?
One thing I try not to think too much about is something my mom said just once when I was little, about how when my sister was born the Doctors advised them not to have more kids bc it would be risky, “but I turned out fine” or something. My dad never came to visit our family on my mom’s side that i can remember, and when I was really little we spent a lot more time with her cousin doing a lot of quality time stuff; movies, mini golf, etc. The guy also drank a lot but he’s had better luck kicking the worst of his habits I guess.

I'm bored as hell rn so I thought I'd just list some ideas I think could be good additions to the game to get feedback on them and see what other people think should be added.
We need more healing items, so here's two:
An adrenaline Shot, just stim but it's either red or yellow instead of green, and it recharges your energy very quickly and fully but is VERY expensive, maybe it could have a plant you could grow that takes 5 days instead of 3?
A pill item could be cool, it heals you instantly but for less total than an NRS, maybe a quarter HP? Made with either the plants we already have or another new one?
Utility items:
A flaregun could be cool, a small bright red gun with one shot. When fired it calls in an airdrop. Only works on island and could be like keycards in value, with a few static spawns across the maps?
A claymore or trap item could be sick, but it would have to be pretty obvious to keep from being too annoying. I think something like how they do it in r6 with the super visible lasers could be okay, and maybe it being set up takes a moment and is loud, plus taking up a lot of space in bags?
Boss and a vault idea
Something like a case that has a small chance to spawn at select POIs on either Matka or Island maybe, it has three guards. They each are just normal Fenix but the ones with better guns like M4s, glocks, those ones. One of the three drop a case(similar in size to a flight recorder or car battery?) That when opened has a chance for a keycard or similar high value items(GPUs, the flare gun maybe, that stuff).
I think it would be cool if Matka Underground had a train that spawned sometimes like island has the airdrop. It has 3 or 4 purple chests and 2 normal ones, and a few scavs inside guarding the loot! Pretty simply idk, maybe it could have a keycard room instead.
Weapon ideas!
Putting in the KelTec KSG shotgun could be really cool(a gun I personally like lol). 14 rounds in an internal magazine) alongside maybe adding dragons breath shotgun shells?
Another LMG you could buy would be nice, maybe the M248 SAW?
An automatic or machine pistol could be fun, possibly the Baretta 93R? Plus a revolver like the Colt Python or Colt SAA?
And finally, maybe a DMR or two? I feel like they could be fun, similar to sniping

I want a holster for a pistol I can put on my vest so I can either have two(to use at the same time ofc!) Or to hold even Mac 10 to use alongside a sniper?
One that holds between 1 and 3 NRS or maybe a 1 shot energy stick could be nice? Saves bag space and makes them easier(and quieter) to access?
Or what about a canteen or food pouch? That way for like island raids we can save space in our bag? This could be put where the shotgun shell Pouch can go.
Helmet Attachment: Flashbang resistant goggles? Something that you can put on your helmet in the place of NVGs that make flashes not effect you as much? Idk if this would be worth bringing since nobody really uses flashes, but.
Maybe they could add something like a weapon sling? It allows you to carry an addition weapon, but you can only access it when you are not wearing a vest or bag at all. This way you can carry an addition gun out, but it's much harder to get to so you can't switch to it mid fight?

Rules: bosses with multiple stages will have their stages and such such as Jack Baker having a mutated form or Mendez being split in half. This is mainly a realistic fight so personalities and real life logic apply so the only video game logic being applied is the multiple phases part
My ranking of fighter outcome;

1. Beneviento. She doesn't have any real fighting potential however she could "hide" herself and make everyone hallucinate into trying to attack the doll but even Ethan could defeat her with a pair of scissors
   
2. Marguerite Baker. She has bugs to aid her but in a fight like this, they aren't helpful and she really only works well in enclosed spaces and even if she was for a fight like this, everyone would destroy the area in no time
   
3. Mendez. Same situation as Marguerite but he has 2 phases and his split form makes him more mobile in enclosed areas so that's a plus
   
4. Mr.X/super tyrant. This one is a little tricky as he is big and tough but easily got killed by birken so him fighting about else here makes him feel weak even in super form
   
5. Birken. Even though he did best Mr.X, I feel anyone else could simply out power him. Kind of middle of the road in a way
   
6. Lucas Baker. Lucas is indeed smart but his transformation seemed to have took some time and he works best with prep time which won't be a thing for this fight. His form is more like a stronger normal birken
   
7. Jack Baker. He could definitely hold his own for a bit due to the mold and how he acts but his only transformation is the giant one after Lucas's traps and that one DLC one which looks to be way weaker. And it took a lot of damage for him to change that much
   
8. Mureau. One thing that keeps him this high is his acid spray that can help though flesh good and without this he would've been tied with birken. However everyone else here easily counters or outpowers him
   
9. El Gigante. This dude is big and strong and tough but also incredibly stupid. He even has a very clear weak spot being the plague that comes out of his body and the giant one out his back that dimitrescu can outnumber with daughters, nemesis can use weapons, wekser out speeds and the rest out power.
   
10. Wesker. As much as I hate to say it, I think this is where Wesker ends. He needs to have his virus injected periodically which he can't really do in this fight and his 2nd form also isn't too powerful compared to the things the others can do. He also can't really beat nemesis easily and can't beat dimitrescu's daughters due to lack of cold weapons or flames to burn the bugs
    
11. Dimitrescu and daughters. Dimitrescu and her daughters are tough and the daughters are practically immortal. Dimitrescu can also send bugs but like Marguerite's they are pointless. Her mutated form makes her a big target but also a bit stronger
    
12. Saddler. He seems to be pretty quick and powerful despite his eye knees being a big target and I think nemesis is fast enough and durable enough to take him on along with the others.
    

Nemesis: his first form is strong and can use weapons but once taken enough damage he goes primitive and dog mode (in the remake) which makes him faster and stronger but seemingly dumber

1. Mother Miranda. She has multiple shake shifting forms and such while also shooting light energy attacks. Very tough
   
2. Heisenburg. Ethan need a tank from Chris in order for him to beat Heisenburg which is something we haven't seen before in a resident evil game aside from a simple rocket Launcher. He also controls metal and has a robot zombie army he can control of. His attacks are very hard to compete with and I believe he could've definitely defeat Miranda if he hadn't died to Ethan
   

When my uncle died he had 2 daughters and he wasnt able to spend much time with them when they were growing up cause his wife ran away with the kids too france. none the less he loved them and cherished all the time he got to spend with them. when he died he had about 50 million dollars in assests. his death was sudden i mean it took a few months but he got ALS and it progressed extremely fast. so he didnt have much time to plan anything out ahead of time. but he drew up a will and asked my mom (his sister) to take care of his finances for him and manage his estate.
So i stumbled upon the paperwork for what she is managing. and it showed the requests in his will
It said that EACH OF HIS 2 DAUGHTERS EACH GET 25THOUSAND DOLLARS EVERY 3 MONTHS REGARDLESS
and she has not been doing that. mind you i didnt read the whole stack of paper i just flipped through that part but there was no conditions to it and my belief is that my mom is just a power hungry cunt. pardon my french. im about to move out of her house im 30 i havent lived here my whole life i have just been here a few months since my last stint in prison. but she gets 130k a year for being the executor cause im in canada and thats the limit.
Im already about to move out my question is how do i go about fixing this? cause his wishes are in my mind the most important thing. and i wasnt even close with him at all. like before my grandpa died he made me promise to have 2 boys so i could carry on the family legacy. and ill be dammed if i die before i got two little boys running around.
i just cant wrap my mind around it. see part of me wants to put her on blast for what she did. but do worse than that. im tempted to put a virus on her computer and completely destroy her life. just steal everything she has in savings. cause im not in her will anyway why does it matter. but really thats just dreaming. what i want is some advice how do i help my cousins to get there money?

So I hav e tried playing all madden with I think mac 10s sliders and am struggling on defense. On offense I can sling it free will but defense I just can’t stop the run. I will put a good play for it and it’s like Moses parting the seas. I shift inside/ outside user lbs and nothing any advice( even tried offense only but my defense don’t get stops or stats)

A Brief Review of Trails of Cold Steel IV: Act Three- A Worthy Rivalry by inFalcom

Introduction- This feels like a major turning point for the series. The various revelations about the forces behind what caused the Hamel tragedy and subsequent war with Liberl that are so critical to understanding Sky, the various incidents in Crossbell that were both linked to and related to both Erebonia and Ouroboros' plans, and of course the mammoth, four game Cold Steel arc. There may be Reverie after this to contend with, but for all intents and purposes, this feels like the end of a major part of the series. On a personal level, having played each game in the series in order, essentially back to back, since I started Sky in November, this feels bittersweet. I have a post planned for after I finish Reverie that goes a little bit more into this, but suffice to say I feel like I've been on an incredible journey, and yet I still want more.
With all that out of the way, what do I think of the Finale of Cold Steel 4, Cold Steel 4 as a whole, and perhaps even all of the Cold Steel arc? Well, I might do a separate post about the Cold Steel arc, but... Cold Steel 4 is really good. In spite of some of its pacing, and the way it sometimes just flings stuff out there with little explanation and you don't hear about it again (sometimes it comes up again, sometimes it doesn't), I really enjoyed Cold Steel 4. I think it's my third favourite game in the franchise.
But first and foremost, some pros and cons for the finale.
Pros- -The Hamel sidequest Really nice, as opposed to the Crossbell sidequest which hinged on the least interesting member of the original SSS, it does a good job of (quite literally) putting the ghosts of Hamel to rest. The interactions between Ash and Joshua are great, and I liked how some of Loewe's residual spirit came back too. We'll never see him resurrected, but since this series has long established that residual conciseness stays behind (and also the existence of the beyond and Loewe's link to a sword made by its rules), it was was a nice little touch.
-The entire final area From the Salt Pales, to Tuatha de Danann, to the final fight with Ishmelga Loge, I could not have asked for a better send off to the Cold Steel arc. I think in general it was well paced- about as long as Azure and CS2's final dungeons- and the final area itself was designed in such an enigmatic yet fascinating way. The Liber Ark's still better though.
-McBurn What to say about McBurn? Arguably the most important lore dump we've ever gotten in the series, the stuff that implies the human he fused with *might* be Epstein, the stuff he remembered at the end seemingly relating to something the Grandmaster and Campanella did, and of course The Beyond and the 'Possible World'. Seemingly endless complexities and lore implications that both add too what we already know, and yet leave so, so many more questions. Here's my one. If Aidos truly didn't create the Beyond
then who did?
-Ouroboros I risk being controversial here, but I truly love Ouroboros' outing in Cold Steel, and this is a fitting send off, finally getting them in a position where they have to at least give a vague explanation for what they're doing that goes beyond 'it's all going to plan'- leaving a lot open, but also with more of a target for theories and ideas. I think it's made absolutely clear that their open nature as an organisation is entirely by design (of course helped by that final scene with the Grandmaster), and I can't wait to see what they do next.
-Earn Your Happy Ending There's a trope on TV Tropes by this name and. Yeah. After all the shit they've been through, Class 7 and Rean definitely earned this. It's a bit sappy, and perhaps a little bit too cheesy, but I don't mind it.
Cons- -Does everyone really need to speak? Whilst I like the finale as a whole, it felt like every time we were about to face a new boss, literally all of the 16 or so characters in the party had to chime in with the same line every time. It got old quick, and represents some of the sins of Cold Steels writing, where it can get pretty repetitive after a while.
-The Crossbell sidequest It was nice to see Diana MacDowell finally reunite with her daughter, and the stuff about the devil only targeting women is some pretty interesting lore, and perhaps a set up for future games (the Calvard arc), the same as quite a lot of the stuff from near the end of the game that didn't directly deal with the final bosses- but other than that the sidequest just didn't hit the mark I wanted it too. Again, it focused too much on the least interesting member of the SSS, and didn't do much of anything to make her more interesting. Shame really.
-That goofy portrait of you and your lover after the credits Did they need to make it any more obvious how tacked on the romance system in these games were? Couldn't even commission art that made it look like the other photos on Rean's desk, just a generic 3d rendering? Come on now lol. This is the most petty of petty grievances but it did stick with me.
Conclusion- This finale was great. It had a lot riding on it, but I think it managed to do good with what it needed to do. I'm certainly looking forward to Reverie, to see some things cleared up more, and to bridge the gap between the Crossbell and Erebonia arcs and the Calvard arcs, and whatever might come after it. However, there is still one more thing I need to do here.
Conclusion on Cold Steel 4 as a whole- A game of many faces. From the brilliance of Act One, Act Three and the Finale, some beautiful character moments and bonding events, to the somewhat mediocre Act Two, the romance system, and some of the story explanations as a whole, it doesn't take a genius to see why Cold Steel 4 is so divisive. Me I fall on the 'it's really good in spite of its issues' side of the divide. I think the curse is a good idea, if done better in other places (Fullmetal Alchemist for instance, with a very similar resolution in both cases), that isn't presented that well and thus might cause more confusion than if they'd spent more time properly fleshing it out.
Like I said, I think it's my third favourite game in the series, behind only Azure and Sky SC, and it deserves its flowers. That being said, I think there's a pretty sizeable gap between what I think of Azure and what I think of CS4, and I hope Reverie will rectify some of the issues I have with the game. It's been an honour to have your readership across the Cold Steel arc, it's been a mammoth task, especially with my reviews that I try and do each time I finish a section of the game, but I think it's been very worthwhile.
I'm probably jumping right into Reverie, but until then, I hop you enjoyed reading, and see you next time.

I have been teaching since 2005, and was a tutor (I helped other students in Japanese studies) for an additional 2.5 years. Teaching is all that I know for the most part, and I have never really put thought into signing a new contract for the next 2 years. However, just before the annoying beer named virus took over, I had started to feel like the place I am in was no bueno. There was as noticeable change in the "quality" of the students. They started to show more open hostility, disrespect, and defiance towards the teachers.
In my school in particular I am a foreign language and ESL teacher on top of being a gen ed teacher, and as much as I don't like it I have classes over multiple grades at the same time. Post beer, the school really changed. It was like admin and education department used that down time to mess up everything, the class times changed, the schedules changed, the school rules changed, it got worse and worse.
Also during this time a lot of the parents too stock in how well their children were actually doing in school versus what the teachers were saying (this is a semi-private schools so there is a higher incentive to smudge how well the children are doing). This led to a lot of the good children being removed from the school for better places, or for cheaper places (why pay so much if the quality isn't there), or they just moved away to a different city.
So to fill those spots the school did massive open enrollment drives and stalked the school with children who ... honestly they need special education to help them. Don't take this the wrong way, we had a lot of children who have ADD ADHD or were autistic, I am neurodiverse myself so I never really had issues with those kids after we learned a pattern that worked for them. These days, we have more neurodivergent children who have behavioral issues, who have a hard time maintaining themselves in the classrooms, but they can be managed with the right efforts (most of them).
The real problem are the children who come from real money families that zero respect, zero manners, zero self control, and zero drive to learn. At the beginning of this year I signed a new one year contract because, I can no longer see myself working in this school. Daily I am met with the hours of effort I put in the design of my lessons being turned to waste, the daily barrage of students screaming at me because they can't for the life of them talk with a normal voice volume, the daily frustrations of having to repeat everything in two languages 10 times because in neither language do they pay attention, I am tired of not being able to reuse lessons that were massive hits with the children in previous years because the child now don't have the language abilities or the practical abilities to do the work and the amount of time it takes to reduce, simplify, and remake the lesson is wasted because it no longer has the original meaning behind why they were doing it.
I am so tired of weak management, unhelpful administration, out of touch parents, and openly hostile or dismissive coworkers. Why did I sign a new contract, because I wasn't prepared to leave yet, I wasn't prepared for the move, and I have no idea what to do other than teaching and this school has made me hate being a teacher. Forgive me for I have signed a new contract when I am mentally checked out now. I will continue to do my work to standard, but I am tired of burning myself out to make stellar lessons to have them shat on.

TL;DR - I’m 24w pregnant and at my breaking point with my current job. Have a new job already but it won’t pay me for 2 months. My family thinks I’m stupid bc I want to quit right now. Would It be a bad decision?
First of all Ty for reading. I’m at a huge dilemma right now that is causing me extreme stress.
I (19F) am 24 weeks pregnant and a FTM. My fiancé (21M) and I have been together for 4 years, we own a house together, have decent paying jobs and have been living together for almost a year, about to be married in July, so we are pretty put together for our age. We also have everything in order for our son, if he was born tomorrow (which I obviously don’t hope for!) he’d have everything he could ever need for his first few months of life, including crib, car seat, clothes, diapers etc. I have been very excited for this pregnancy and also wanted to prove myself as a young mom so I made sure of this before I even hit trimester 3, plus with so many big events coming up, we had an early baby shower with a diaper raffle and everything.
So my problem is I’m working full time as a CNA to help with my half of the bills, and I absolutely HATE my job. Not only is the job itself grueling, but as I get farther along in my pregnancy it has become exhausting and every day is a mental battle. My job consists of constant bending over, lifting 300+ lb residents either in bed or into chairs, sitting on my knees (well really my butt bc of circulation issues) and being on my feet majority of the day. I could put up with it easier if I had any inclination of help throughout the day. Healthcare facilities are usually understaffed, but my building recently had a walk-out of literally 20 staff members, most of them CNAs, and it leaves the rest of us short handed pretty much every day. I have had several instances of asking nurses and MACs for help and they outright refuse or come up with stupid excuses why it’s not their job. Just yesterday I reported a nurse for walking out of the room when I pretty much TOLD her to help me because I couldn’t do cares on a specific individual myself, she walked out because I was “arguing” with her. I had a huge screaming match with my managers a couple of weeks ago basically threatening to sue them if they kept putting me on this one unit, which I am almost guaranteed to take on 20 patients by myself when I work there. They are so short staffed that they can’t even afford to fire me. My paychecks have been inconsistent for months starting back when they cut all of my hours, now half of the employees left they are constantly asking me to pick up extra shifts. I constantly say no because I can barely make myself go work my regular scheduled shifts. My paychecks continue to be inconsistent because of the amount of times I’ve called in. I just have stopped caring and the only reason I haven’t walked out yet is because I want to be responsible and I know I won’t get fired for missing work anyway.
I am BEYOND over it. I have been wanting to quit for weeks, but struggled to find another job that suited my wants and needs, as I DID NOT want to be a CNA anymore so I told myself I wouldn’t quit until I had something good lined up. It’s difficult to get hired while pregnant because most employers see it as a loss due to maternity leave and pay. The thing is, I actually did find another job and have already been hired and technically making money, I just won’t get paid until after I get my license which will take bout 2 months. It’s 100% commission based but the company has trades in the NYSE and I can make really good money there if I can get clients. I am ready to throw myself and my focus into this new career, and I’ve been looking for any excuse to leave my current job, I really don’t care if I’m not getting paid atm.
I talked to my fiancé, my parents, and my bsf about this and they all pretty much told me I’m stupid for thinking I can quit my current job right now. My fiancé is actually the most supportive out of all of them but he is scared about our finances and worries about how he’s going to pay the bills on his own. Mind you, he has $5000 in personal savings and our shared account that we put money in for our bills is about two months ahead of our monthly expenses, so it’s not like we don’t have ANY money at all. I definitely don’t want to drain our savings in the meantime, but with this new career I could potentially make more than I am currently making, meaning I could soon put way more into savings than I ever was since we moved in. My parents think I should wait until after the wedding to quit my job so I know I’ll have money for the expenses, however, we already paid for majority of the venue costs and they agreed to help us with the rest of the expenses like food, my dress etc (I am NOT getting an expensive dress, it’ll be $300 at most.) they act like I will be constantly asking them for money, which I haven’t done once since living on my own, or that I won’t be able take care of myself. My plans were to get my last paycheck from my current job and put it all towards our bills. We are also expecting one last rent payment from our roommates who are in the process of moving out. At worst we will only need to take a bit out of savings and I can’t allow myself any frivolous spending until I start making money again.
I just feel trapped and like nobody close to me understands what I’m going through. I cried for like an hour last night just thinking about having to go back to work, I just have no idea how I can keep this up for another two months. My self confidence in my ability to prosper in this new job is also deflated due to my family’s reaction. Pregnancy hormones aren’t helping … I thought I’d ask y’all bc ik my family is just worried about my financial security and doesn’t want anything bad to happen. I just want to message HR tonight and never go back.
BTW my current job doesn’t offer paid maternity leave so there’s no reason to wait for that.

I have isos downloaded on my MacBook and my psp plugged in but I just need help figuring out how to get them on the psp. I tried making a folder and putting them in there, and my psp shows that my storage is going down, but it says there are no games.

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 10 to an iPhone 15 Pro max. To transfer everything from one phone to the other, I used Quick Start. iCloud continued to update on the new phone after everything was set up. I use iCloud on all my Apple devices, including a MacBook Pro. The next day, I checked my MacBook documents folder in Finder that saves to the iCloud, and saw all my folders were modified to May 2nd, 2024. This was the date of the Quick Start. All the dates created and modified became the same dates as well. If I did not document the dates on my documents, I would not know when the documents were created initially. Additional documents were put into folders, and certain folders were created with files that I do not recognize. Strangely, Finder shows all of my downloads were added on December 8th, 2023, which makes no sense. I spoke to Apple Care and they could not fix this. I went to the genius bar, and it was recommended that I restore from a recent time machine backup prior to the Quick Start on May 2nd of 2024. They were hoping this could update all my files in iCloud and make things look normal again. Does this seem like the best thing to do? I am at a loss, and I do not want to lose any documents.

Hey! Not sure if this is allowed as is for laptops and not PC but was told you guys might be able to help!
I’m looking at moving away from mac as mine is over a decade old and won’t even support minecraft, as well as netflix and a whole bunch of other streaming services, and I want a laptop that will last. I’m also dying to give Baldurs Gate 3 a go! Im not tech savy at all, so if ya’ll could explain like I’m a child even better. (Sorry.)
I’m after recommendations for laptops that are around £500-£600 although can budge on that a little, and could run games like BG3- if thats possible! If not I’ll take Minecraft and Sims4. Its my partner who is buying it for me for a birthday present, and hes said hes looking at laptops with 512ssd and 16GMram. Good anti virus is a plus too!
