2024.05.14 02:41 millennialzoomer96 Experience with BTC at Saturday Sat Market

I posted my experience as a comment in another post but I feel like it deserves it's own.
There was an event in November or December in Calgary, Alberta, Canada called the Saturday Sat market. I went with my dad. At the time, I was just beginning to have doubts of BTC after about 8 months of being a maxi. My doubts were a result of Peter McCormack's recurring question on his podcast, "Can you truly be self-sovereign without owning a UTXO?"
When I was at the event, the fees on the main chain were something like $50 CAD. In order to fund my lightning wallet, I had to buy liquid BTC from an exchange (Bull Bitcoin), and swap it into lightning. Annoying for me but I could manage.
Once I went to buy items from vendors, I found some people were either using Wallet of Satoshi without realizing the custodial nature of it or other non-custodial lightning wallets. One vendor that used Phoenix Wallet, ended up paying the $50 to fund his lightning wallet. When someone would try to pay him, his channel would overflow (as far as I understand) leading to more payments just to RECEIVE a lightning payment. I believe he ended up using Wallet of Satoshi for the remainder of the event. It's too bad, because he was trying to do the right thing by using the non-custodial service.
When I went to buy my first hardware wallet at the same event, I used Phoenix Wallet to try to pay. Some error occurred that was along the lines of not being able to find a derivation path. The vendor had to receive the payment using Muun Wallet after it didn't work with his lightning wallet (not sure which).
I met BTC Sessions there and asked him about his thoughts on not everyone being able to own a UTXO in the future. He gave me an answer involving fediments and covenants which I still don't fully understand. I smiled like it was enough to not make me worry but in reality, I still felt that BTC wasn't the perfect money that I was preaching it to be.
All these work-arounds to avoid using layer one are complicated and really not that efficient. Lightning requires on-chain payments which are bound to get more expensive over time. Liquid is a side chain that requires trust in those who run it. Anything beyond those methods is getting too complicated for me to want to use. I'm not a person who has a great understanding of everything bitcoin, but I do know more than the average person. With that in mind, the average person is not going to want to use these complicated methods to transact.

2024.05.14 02:41 Pyroski The Midterms of 1848 and 1849 Pine & Liberty

The Midterms of 1848 and 1849 Pine & Liberty
In the final months of Daniel Webster's term, the economy, still reeling from the War of 1839 and the subsequent Panic of 1843, began a slow but steady recovery. William Lloyd Garrison, the incoming President who shattered the Federalists' grip on power, stepped into office with a bold agenda aimed at bolstering the economic upturn and lifting the nation's spirits. His initial flurry of legislative efforts included a proposed second bill of rights to prevent a repeat of the Sedition Acts, as well as measures to curb speech, the introduction of an equal rights and poll tax amendment, the reduction of the National Bank's influence, which Garrison branded as "corrupt" and "flawed," in favor of greater state control, and the full nationalization of the road industry. Congress has rejected every one of these, however, Garrison has managed to push through some reforms, such as removing Nathan Appleton as the bank's president in 1848, granting states more authority over monetary policies, the nonrenewal of the sedition acts, the District of Maine region's autonomy, imposing national limits on alcohol sales, and ban of the purchase of quantities over 16, and the ending of U.S. cooperation in the deportation of fugitives. However, widespread American fatigue over aggressive slavery policies, coupled with an indifferent Martin Van Buren administration, terms of the Treaty of Brussels, and interest in the settlement of new territories in the northwest, resulted in minimal diplomatic opposition to Garrison's fugitive policy.
Despite minor economic hiccups, trade has largely returned to its pre-war status as industries have stabilized. This was partly due to then-President Nathan Appleton raising interest rates in response to Garrison's funding cuts and minor currency instability resulting from the sudden influx of state control. Furthermore, despite Garrison's efforts to establish further independence from the increasingly close British empire by expanding trade with Haiti, Mexico, France, and the Netherlands, foreign investments, particularly by the British, in railroads and other industries continue, much to Garrison's chagrin.
Meanwhile, on the domestic front, with William Lloyd Garrison shepherding the more affluent Liberty party to adopt a more radical rhetoric against the establishment and secret societies as a whole, the Anti-Masonic party would see a sudden bleed of support, as several of its representatives switched their party affiliations in their 1846 and 1847 campaigns. This bleed would continue, as the party became Garrison's largest outsider ally on key legislative reforms, with Garrison championing the collapsing party's platform on issues such as poll tax and voting reforms, and fines for secret societies. By 1848, party officials would agree on a formal merge, as the remainder of party members switched over. As Temperance sentiment spreads far and wide across the nation, Natavist feelings soar to unprecedented heights; as Catholics and the Irish find themselves in the crosshairs of nativism, owing to stereotypes associating them with regular drinking and heavy alcohol consumption.

Federalist
Led by their esteemed leader, George Evans, federalists have undergone a significant transformation following a series of setbacks, including major electoral defeats to the oligarchy during the "Revolution of 1846" in both the Presidential and House races, and narrowly retaining control of the Senate. They distanced themselves from the still-sensitive Daniel Webster administration, and addressing concerns over his well-known alcoholism and allegations of sympathy to liquor, they adopted a more pronounced pro-temperance stance; with states such as Connecticut and New Hampshire, where they held sway over governorships and state legislatures, implementing stricter regulations. Moreover, although initially backing the Sedition Acts and playing key roles in its creation alongside Federalist President Noah Webster in 1827, most of the party shifted its stance by 1847, opposing its renewal. While Federalists have supported specific measures during the Garrison presidency, particularly those related to Temperance and opposition to the Sedition Acts, the party has emerged as Garrison's main opponent, leveraging their status as the second-largest party in the House and their majority in the Senate, to block much of his agenda. Notably, Massachusetts representative Nathaniel Briggs Borden, supported by the party establishment, spearheaded Federalist efforts to censure Garrison for his attempts to rein in the National Bank. Nonetheless, with the defense of the Law and Order party, Garrison managed to evade censure with a vote margin of 19-35. Nevertheless, leveraging their control in the Senate, Federalists effectively obstructed Garrison's legislative agenda, halting proposed cuts to national defense meant to prioritize funding for education and infrastructure, as outlined in Garrison's Bill of rights. Additionally, they stymied social reforms proposed by Garrison, including provisions in The Penitentiary Act of 1848 aimed at alleviating penalties for tax evasion, victims of the Sedition Acts, and Dorr sympathizers. Furthermore, they thwarted the full implementation of Garrison's Land Reform policy, which aimed to repurchase all lands acquired by foreign investors.
Despite defeats amid the "Revolution of 1846" and a party identity crisis, the glimmer of victory at the end of the tunnel, driven by opposition to Garrison and his efforts to dismantle the National Bank, has spurred party unity. Centering their campaign primarily on one issue: The National Bank, Federalists argue that Garrison's attempts to curtail it are unconstitutional, citing the 13th amendment which established a strong permanent bank, and criticizing his use of the spoils system, particularly Arthur Tappan's appointment as bank president in the wake of Appleton's removal. Opponents criticize Tappan as too inexperienced, highlighting his close friendship with Garrison and lack of a banking background, exacerbated by Appleton's own nearly decade-long experience as its president, to allege cronyism. On economics, Federalists campaign on reinstating Appleton; passing legislation to ensure the bank's stability; and the further federalizing of the bank to its pre-Garrison status. Cooperation with private industries in the construction of infrastructure, to limit government spending so that the nation may pay off the heavy debts sustained from a lengthy war on top of an economic depression. They also contest Garrison's efforts to distance New England's ties with British trade and investors, advocating instead for a stronger connection with other European Powers; They champion a return to a close-knit relationship, both diplomatically and economically, with Federalists emphasizing Britain, which contributed heavily to their independence and later the diplomatic resolution of the War of 1839, as their foremost ally.
This political cartoon, prominent during the Revolutionary War to depict Yankees as British loyalists, has regained popularity as a means to mock the Federalists' affection towards Britain and pro-British policies.
Liberty
Unseating the long-standing single-party rule of the Federalists during the Revolution of 1846, the Liberty Party stepped into the fray amidst a transformative era following a return to stability. Conceived by now-President William Lloyd Garrison under the influences of transcendentalism and liberty, advocating opposition to the government and support for limited intervention, it proved easier said than done to translate ideals into reality. Garrison eventually faced the stark reality upon assuming office, facing a slim majority in the House and a minority in the Senate, which forced him to navigate within the system, leaving much of his agenda in vain. Furthermore, Garrison's failure to pass equal rights and his proposed bill of rights has led inner-party critics, led by George Ripley, a Unitarian minister, and Henry David Thoreau, an author and former campaigner of Garrison, who has returned to civilization from his isolation in the forests of Massachusetts, to label Garrison as "corrupted" by political institutions. Other intra-party critics criticize his national restrictions on alcohol, attempts to block foreign business and investment, and fines for secret societies as further increasing the authority and scope of the government when the party's whole platform stood against it. Nonetheless, allies argue that his restrictions and expansion of executive power are necessary evils to tackle the root causes of societal issues and special interests and to promote the nation's independence while also supporting local businesses and industries.
Despite the emergence of splintering anti-Garrison factions, the Liberty Party has sought to navigate controversy by upholding the core tenets of Garrison's presidency. These include his cessation of collaboration with the U.S. on the deportation of fugitives from the Hudson-Greenway line; dismantling what Liberators perceive as a corrupt National Bank, and his instrumental role in achieving Statehood for the District of Maine after a struggle spanning over a decade, resulting in the creation of two new states: Maine and Bangor. In addition to championing Garrison's established agendas, the party endeavors to garner support for unfinished initiatives. These include proposals to expand the House's seats from 65 to 86, with each state gaining two more representatives than its electoral vote in the Electoral College, thus aiming to bolster representation. Furthermore, they advocate for Garrison's Second Bill of Rights, seeking to amend the constitution to ensure rights for all citizens and to federalize the poll tax to a reduced fee of $1.80. Additionally, they push for legislation aimed at diminishing the influence of Jewish bankers and investments, echoing Garrison's public condemnation of them as "the enemy of the people and Christ" and their purported "stranglehold over our nation's wealth."
The origin of the party name and of its followers, William Lloyd Garrison's \"The Liberator\" has remaiend infleuntial even despite Garrison's dpearture, with followers hanging the cover of the paper to show their support for the party.
Law and Order
Despite suffering heavy defeats amidst the Revolution of 1846 and Thomas Dorr's rebellion, the cornerstone of the party's creation, now relegated to the back burner of voters' minds, the Law and Order alliance of Farmers, Liberals, Traditionalists, and former Federalists and Nationalists finds itself in an awkward position. Larger parties such as the Federalists have adopted the centerpiece coalition's platform, such as the Federalists now championing calls for cooperation with the U.S. and moderate views on black and women's rights, while the Liberty Party advocates for limited government and a smaller national bank; Nonetheless, the Law and Order coalition has attempted to carve out a platform wedged between the two current party giants. Led by the party's House leader Robert C. Winthrop, the party has strongly emphasized its economic agenda, in a bid to set it apart from the two leading parties. They advocate for a limited National Bank, arguing for its scope to be restricted to essential sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, and trade. Additionally, they propose limits on the money supply to maintain a stable bimetal gold and silver standard, advocate for increased transparency regarding bank loans, and impose requirements for loan eligibility. Moreover, emphasizing a limited federal government approach in favor of state control, they argue for allowing states to charter their own banks to a certain extent. They have also advocated for giving full control to the states to set their whiskey and alcohol policies, supporting government rollbacks on Garrison's national restrictions. Critics from the Law and Order faction lambaste Garrison for what they perceive as insufficient efforts to rein in the National Bank. Instead, they accuse him of employing the spoils system by appointing his friend, Arthur Tappan, whom many consider inexperienced, to oversee it, despite most of the party voting to replace Appleton with him. The party has argued for lower tariffs, contending that high tariffs disproportionately affect the nation's farmers while benefiting wealthy foreign and domestic investors and businesses; Additionally, they argue that lower tariffs would benefit consumer interests.
Championed by Winthrop and fellow prominent Law and Orderites, including Senator Franklin Pierce, former Governor Edward Everett, Representative Charles G. Atherton, Rhode Island speaker John Hopkins Clarke, and a now one-legged John Fairfield, the party has attempted to adopt a "Proclamation of Neutrality" regarding foreign policy, believing their strength could be achieved through trade and cordial relations with any country, regardless of past relations or tensions with the nation's ally states. Most notably, their support for this policy extends to the nation's most infamous and longstanding enemy, the United States, with whom the nation has fought two wars. Any attempts to reconcile have been further complicated after the election of vocal anti-Fugitive ally, William Lloyd Garrison, who halted Yankee cooperation in the retrieval and return of fugitives. Nevertheless, this faction, derisively labeled the "Doughfaces" by critics due to their perceived willingness to bend to U.S. interests argues that cooperation was necessary. They point to the provisions of the Treaty of Brussels and the agreed-upon reward for captured fugitives, whom they claim weren't even citizens of New England, that the U.S. agreed to pay; Which they contend as a necessary evil to tackle and settle the burdensome debts the nation has accumulated in recent years. In stark contrast, the "Firebrands," nicknamed as such due to the fearmongering that their support for Garrison's policy will spark a third crisis between the two bordering nations, are led by Representative John P. Hale of New Hampshire and Associate Justice Marcus Morton, the 1841 National Party nominee. Famously during a party meeting, Hale would passionately argue, "After witnessing the sacrifice of countless lives, the toll of significant casualties, the devastation wrought upon our infrastructure, and the profound scars etched upon our nation, it would be nothing short of tragic to discover ourselves entangled once more in the very predicament we endeavored to escape..." This sentiment has been echoed similarly by the rest of the Firebrands as they emerge as the top faction opposed to inner-party calls for cooperation with the United States.
\"DIPLOMATIC SCALES, a true balance\" a pro-Doughface political cartoon, contends through a smudge of humor, that the only way that the two nations, New England and the United States could remain in harmony is through compromise. Meanwhile, highlighting their role in the Treaty of Brussells and War of 1839, a man in the bottom-right conner, the personifcation of Britian interjects with his own oponions.

2024.05.14 02:40 Brilliantmind1997 26 [F4M] Georgia,USA -Seeking a long term monogamous relationship (serious inquiries only)

This is my last attempt for awhile. *Do Not message or add me just to unfriend me or ghost me. * Greetings future partner ❤️ I'm still searching for you. I have to be honest and say that I am losing hope trying to find you. Please be somewhere. I want my search for a partner to be over. I'm seeking adventure in my life with someone I can call a forever partner. I'm tired of the loneliness and the sheltered lifestyle that I've lived. It would mean a lot of you could read through this post so that I could make sure we are compatible. Even if we start off as friends that would be fine.
Here's to new beginnings and new connections. PLEASE make sure you READ through the WHOLE POST also please be respectful when messaging me * *If you're the type to be impatient, block, or ghost easily, then save both of us the trouble and DO NOT message me! I'm not trying to come off as mean but I'd much rather you not message me if you're the type of person to do that. If something isn't working just let me know. We're all adults.
Greetings, I am seeking a long term relationship monogamous with the end goal being matrimony. I am not one for playing around and being used casually as it doesn’t suit me personally. Ideally I'd prefer a man that has his life already in place so that I can be able to share life with him and for him to take care of me. I would expect my future man to have a fiscally stable job and be able to support me and our future family. I wouldn’t be opposed to being a housewife. There are few reasons why I would like to work or work part time: 1) Being abandoned with nothing, 2) I want to feel fulfilled and not bored. Happy to discuss possible dynamics, I'm flexible. I would love a synergistic partnership where we are both able to mold our minds and fill our hearts with warm affection. I will be there to support you throughout your journey and celebrate every moment with you. I want you to be proud of you just as you are with me. I want to show you that you are truly cared for and appreciated by gestures of love such as massages and other forms of entertainment. I would expect the same from you as well. Even if we are both working adults we can still make our relationship work in the best way possible. I have seen this come out well for people who are dedicated and willing to make their relationships work. For a strong relationship to occur I would expect effective (transparent) communication from you. If you are going to be busy just be honest and let me know you won’t be able to talk to me.Also, if you need your space both mentally and physically let me know. I understand that we all have our lives to attend to but it is incredibly important for people in a relationship to be transparent when circumstances arise in a timely manner in order to avoid future conflict. If this relationship isn’t going to work I would expect you to tell me and not ghost or block me before giving me a reason why. We are all adults so I would expect nothing but maturity. Starting out I don’t want the pressure of sex to be pushed onto me. I’d rather let time tell in all of its glory.
Now onto my true introduction
My name is Angie and I'm from Georgia in the United States. I've been lonely for quite some time and find it hard to find a soulmate in IRL. What I'm looking for is someone who I can connect with and have wholesome conversations with. I want to be able to treat my future soulmate well just as much as they do me. The biggest part of a long lasting relationship is the ability to communicate openly without worry. I'd love it if my significant other has a dark sense of humor and continues to crack me up non-stop. As cheesy as it may sound I long for those late night calls and cute texts. I want for us to drive out the very best in each other; become our support system. A little bit about me is that I grew up in Florida and not too long ago moved to Georgia. I'm currently in college to become an RN but I'm also passionate about cosmetic chemistry and nutrition so I may seek to build my own business in the future. I'm passionate about science and theoretical applications especially within the medical field. I'd appreciate it if my partner is open minded about varying topics and welcomes healthy conversations. Appearance wise I'm open to seeing if we have a connection and feel as long as you are well groomed and practice basic hygiene you are good. Although, I must say that attraction is key in a relationship so I will have to go off on that as well. To add on, I enjoy playing video games, exercising (I've been slacking off lately), cooking and baking (vegan), playing board games, reading, exploring nature, playing sports (basketball and soccer) for fun, and trying new experiences. I hope to save up and travel someday. It would be nice for my partner to be able to set up our travel itinerary.
My Physical Description:
I am a black woman who’s twenty five years old (almost 26 in December) with Afro-Carribean, Japanese and Swedish ancestry. I’d still consider myself black presenting since that’s more along the lines of what I appear as phenotypically. I have dark brown curly hair (Mainly 3c type curls) and brown eyes. I am 5 '4 on the thicker spectrum (not at all obese but thick boned and have thunder thighs). I am trying to exercise more to become fit. I used to weight lift when I was younger but since then have lost lean muscle mass. Having a partner that is willing to work out together sometimes is rather rewarding. A man who has drive and appeal is incredibly sexy. I would also like to point out that I am curvy and noticeable in certain aspects (I’ll leave it up to you to decide).
*You have to be MINIMUM 21 to date me *
If distance will be a problem and you aren't willing to make it work then DON'T MESSAGE ME!!
If you will be too busy to pursue a relationship then DO NOT contact me!! * *Again, No ghosters or blockers!! Seeking a person who seeks a relationship with God and/or is open to one Must be free from venerial diseases and must be willing to get tested(will discuss) Bonus points if you're vegan Ideally I would like someone that is taller than me (I’m 5’4) I prefer a man that is fit or trying to be. I'd prefer someone who is fiscally stable and able to support the both of us* A big red flag for me is smokers. It isn't good for your health nor is it sexy to me.* It's important for me to point out that I want children in the future and need someone who may want that as well. If you're interested in how I look and want to know more about me, message me. Although I don’t make it a huge deal, I do prefer White and East Asian men. But I do love all types of men and welcome them. As stated before I emphasize communication and would prefer you to be honest and say if something is wrong instead of ghosting or blocking without stating the reason. Fair warning if I can be socially awkward sometimes and don't know what to talk about so please be patient with me as I'm learning to be better conversation wise

2024.05.14 02:38 Timetolivealittle 23M. Looking for an accomplice in this disorder.

State your age. Anybody under 18 will be ignored, so don't even bother trying to approach me.
I'm writing from somewhere in Europe, a place that really isn't hard to guess. I'm looking for a friend, a companion if you will, long-term. No, I do not mean the romantic kind. I'm already occupied on that front with two lovely people and that's more than enough because I barely have time for myself, unless it is late at night (usually). Yes, that means we'll probably be talking late at night so if you're a night owl, bonus points. If you live in a timezone where this doesn't affect you, even better.
Stating things I'm fond of makes this feel more like a weird shopping list than anything else. I enjoy Crystal Castles, atmospheric black metal, and more. I appreciate fantasy, from lord of the rings to the souls series. Not really big into anime and manga anymore, or TV series. But I can chime in. History, spirituality, religion. Those are fascinating topics that I love, but many do not share this sentiment.
I just want someone to keep me company while I'm playing videogames or just existing, to talk with. I do not play many multi-player games at all these days, especially the popular stuff, I end up spending my play sessions in single-player environments. So if you are on PS5 we can sharescreen while you do your own thing or if you're not we can just voice chat on discord.
That brings us to voice chat. That is very important, and I'd want it from the start. Texting is dry, doesn't tell me anything about you nor does it make me feel like the conversation is even close to being "real", it makes me lose interest.
No, I'm not going to sit here and pretend you have to be super high energy and interesting/cool, I'm not that. You just have to be "normal", which I define as not having anything nsfw or weird intentions. Or anything politics related, I don't want that brainrot.
Don't comment. Send me a dm with your discord and an introduction, a voice message would be cool too. I can be very selective and not reply for any random reason, so account for that. I don't want to build any expectations.
See you.

2024.05.14 02:37 YoanB Banned from WorldNews for a positive story about animals.

For some time now, Reddit has been more than unpleasant to use due to the abuse of power by certain moderators. I've lost count of the number of pages that have moderators who take pleasure in permanently banning users without notice, sometimes for no good reason at all.
Today, the article about Costa Rica putting a definitive end to the zoo led to my account being permanently banned on u/WorldNews. Given that the article had over 4200 upvotes, the fact that so many people were participating without any particular problems leads me to believe that the moderators simply didn't like the good news.
I think it's time for Reddit to rethink page moderation. It's become a real mess.

2024.05.14 02:37 DaRaven Tier list for how well I feel the game translates powers to gameplay

Tier list for how well I feel the game translates powers to gameplay
I personally think one of the most important aspects of this game will be how well they capture the feeling of the heroes powers in the game. This is my opinion so far. Feel free to discuss or disagree
S - spiderman, strange, and Loki all nail it. They really find the most important aspects of the character and the skills are unique while still making you feel like the hero. Flying way up high as spiderman, crazy teleports with strange, and messing with people as Loki.
A - hulk doesn’t hit very hard, but seems awesome to fly around the battlefield. I also love how they added 3 levels to his changes. Punisher just makes a regular shooter character feel very dynamic. Groot and rocket each are so different and work well together. Star lord pulls of that high flying gunslinger feel.
B- black panther is a bit controversial, but I think he mostly needs more damage. The base idea is very cool. The tech is not taken into account well. Storm is the other controversial one, but I think some vfx changes and some slight tweaks could bring her where she needs to be. A goddess with area control. Iron man feels great if a bit slow sometimes (again, maybe some camera shake or vfx could give the movement more umpf). Mantis feels dynamic and focused in support and sleep while magik feels good other than the portals being such short range.
c - magneto feels a bit boring, and very little throwing enemies around, Penni is a bit of a trap bot. Wanda is really powerful, but mostly feels like a crazy damage character. I wish she had more unique skills. Hela is similar. Luna snow I know very little about.
D - Namor I have spoken about. The more I see of him the more his skills seem like throwing out random turrets and fighting from super far range. His shift is also just a bit of an odd “oh shit” button. It doesn’t really encourage dynamic gameplay.
These are all just my opinions. I am curious if they match the general idea of everyone else, and how others feel. Overall I think they did an amazing job, and I can’t wait to see more characters translated to the game.

2024.05.14 02:36 CrazyWitness5592 So many lies

Just saw their most recent video and they are so scary when angry. I’ve been following for a while hoping other people could see thru this mess because ITS SOO OBVIOUS. You have broken ribs but…you went to a punk show 4 days ago. You feel your BONES moving and rubbing together in your chest but…are constantly screaming at your phone and went to a punk show 4 days ago. LOL. This is a very dangerous manipulative person. I also noticed they posted a video the other day saying they’ve known about this snark page for a while but I don’t believe that’s true because it’s suddenly all they can talk about like it’s really consuming them. They want power in this situation and they know for once they don’t have it so they’re acting out. Grow up, Max.

2024.05.14 02:34 crogonint Audio in ads autoplaying??

Ok Reddit, you're not funny. Playing ads at me at max volume as I scroll down the page, just pisses me off. Do you WANT people to start creating Reddit ad blockers? Because they will.
How do I turn the audio feature off? I don't even want the videos auto-playing at all, but I will not stand for the audio popping up at full blast and F-ing up my laptop speakers every 26 seconds. Not going to happen.
What is the solution?

I'm Introverted, quiet, master-otaku, and love journaling (though it's mostly on my phone-notepad nowadays). Never beating the feel of pages and ink though 📚). But insanity have disrupted my writings and stuff which....really sucks.
Speaking of insanity, another thing that I enjoy is going to my group therapy sessions, Really like my peers (they're my people☮️🏝️). Sometimes I don't wanna go when having one of those days, but more times than none, usually glad..
Love music, that's my go-to hobby. I'm one of those cats that rewind melodies in musical pieces I like a bunch of times🤣. Music touches me in ways that's hard to explain.
Trying to be a good Christian in my faults. Learning Life and laughing at the misadventures. Off the grid.
Probably write better than talking....I don't know, sometimes I have my talkative days. Like trivia (but maybe better at behind the scenes stuff about Video Game, Manga, Movies, and music type trivia). I like playing video games. My favorites are the "Metal Gear Solid" series, the "Yakuza" series, "Red Dead Redemption 2", "Control", "Uncharted" series, "Death Stranding", and "Katana Zero", the story heavy stuff (I love cutscenes😊). Like gaming news.
Usually have to reset, as I can't wait to get back home. Movie buff of course with mostly older films. I haven't kept up with the new movies. Some look interesting, I'm just picky, you know....when you seen great movies over the years you kinda.... expect good films because you know they can be.

2024.05.14 02:29 No-Look-8032 Pro-Hero vs Pro-Law

Pro-Hero vs Pro-Law
My story is basically a Multiverse taking place in a tons of different timelines. In one timeline superheroes are real. In this timeline visually it resembles 1930s through 60s futurism, but culturally it more resembles our world. The political landscape is greatly divided. Think of it as though you had to put today’s Democrat and liberal politics in the 1940s alongside, it’s conservative republican politics. As a such this country incredibly divided. But now let’s deep dive into the political issue of this world called pro-hero versus pro-law.
Pro-Hero: Being pro hero means you support the independent and unorganized form of law enforcement that are superheroes. The reason they formed is because that traditional law-enforcement has failed it’s duty their citizens. As the three is set in a time period resembling the 1930 through 60s police violence and criminalization of black, Asian, or immigrant communities and other minorities including superhumans and obsessive violence towards them, as well as other forms of police corruption and abuse of authority has led pro hero, supporters, and superheroes to be highly skeptical of traditional law-enforcement. On top of that because of the vast array of alien invaders, superhuman criminals, monsters, kaiju, evil robots, and magic users The police have become a branch of military meaning they have become completely militarized. This issue seems popular among the Democratic Party because even though they’re illegally taking the law to their own hands. They uphold the law and a very deficient at their job as they have either superhuman or technological or magical powers or are just very skilled.
Pro-Law: Being pro-Law means that despite the flaws and controversy surrounding traditional law-enforcement. You still advocate for the protection and security of those who not only risk their lives just as much as superheroes, but have trained to specialize in law-enforcement. It also likely means that you see superheroes as unproven vigilantes who risk not only destroying property which cost taxpayers millions. The trend of superheroes also risks the job security of police officers as it’s feared that they one day replace them and take their jobs.
Please respond as though you actually live in this world. I thought it would be funny if this page turned into a fictional political debate.

2024.05.14 02:27 AutumnFanatic 22 [M4F] Illinois/Anywhere/Online - Lonely nerdy guy who gets zero social interaction looking for a female interested in forming a genuine intimate connection!

Why did the farmer visit the pharmacy? To speak with the farm-assist.
Hi and welcome to my post! Wanted to start off with a funny to me dad joke.
Nice to meet you, I'm Dylan! To put it simple, I am a single 22 year old man who has been pretty lonely in life and lacking in female connection and interaction. And part of what comes with that is the desire to be intimate with a person. I am very mature for my age and will always be respectful of your boundaries and feelings, especially with anything sexual. Lately all I have is myself when it comes to sexual desires, so I would like to have someone to keep company with in that regard too.
I'm just relaxing at work since there's nothing really going on and thinking about going home tonight and burning a woodwick candle. Perfect for when there's a storm outside. I love candles! 🕯️ Sometimes a campfire outside on a fall night or a crackling WoodWick candle is a relaxing constant among our busy and hectic world. It's nice to just disconnect, feel grounded and happy in your own little cozy space. Feeling calm and collected and at peace. Something that fewer people take the time to do these days.
I am seeking a woman around my age or older to build a close connection with that could possibly lead to a relationship and something intimate which includes the possibility of teasing/sharing pics etc. but only when we were comfortable. Figured I would be open in my Intentions as that's the best way to be.
You:
Kind, respectful, and easy going.
Comfortable with the idea of eventually sharing intimate things together.
Willing to eventually move off of Reddit.
Want something genuine and fun!
Are honest in your intentions and a good person to be around!
That's about it, we will get along great I know it.
I've been feeling a little bummed out lately. I always try and stay happy and see the best in things. But.. I've just been so alone. Most of my whole childhood and adult years have been spent feeling lonely. I grew up surrounded by cornfields which was peaceful but also has a lonely aspect to it. My family never really were close and never did anything as a family really. And part of it too is the fact that I never had any neighbors my age to interact with. But aside from that, my adult life has been very lonely. I'm just always by myself. I barely have any meaningful adult relationships or experiences, or even any friends.
I work a 3-11 job in building maintenance at my company world headquarters building which I love, but again it's very lonely. I work the off shift so the building is always empty. I don't get normal social interaction with people my age or a chance to build relationships. I only have 3 older men as co-workers and we are mostly in the basement away from any people on the floors from knowing our existence. I always walk the floors and see office people laughing and chatting with their coworkers and I just don't have that kind of experience. And just.. no one knows I exist really. Everyone probably assumes I have a lot of friends, but I'm struggling inside with being so alone and trying to meet people and get past the "hi how are you?" "I'm good thanks" stage. Most people don't seem to want to talk beyond that. And most women are already in relationships and thus it would seem weird to approach them in an office setting trying to get to know them deeper. But man those "hi how are yous" are the only real interactions I get during my day.. so thus I decided to come here lol. Rant over, sorry! I promise I'm not a downer. 😅
Now for some things about me!
As you can tell, I am very mature for my age and am polite and have good grammar which unfortunately not everyone my age does anymore lol. I am not active at all on social media/internet culture really and don't know much about all the slang the younger people these days use. I feel like I'm 50. 🤣
I am left handed which is pretty cool. I'm not much of a party person or a drinker, I much prefer a quiet night at home and maybe a beer or two on a weekend but that's about it. I am simple and stay out of drama and trouble and don't get much into politics or other things that cause drama with people. I much prefer a relaxing campfire and a night at home and to just let the world keep on turning haha. I consider myself pretty intelligent and mature, especially for my age which is why I'm open to older ladies.
Physically I'm 180 pounds, have brown hair, green eyes, and a typical build. There's a few pictures on my profile.
Some of my hobbies are:
• Photography
I have a Nikon D200 and D5500 that I love to shoot with. I love nature scenes, abstract, black and white/goth kinda photography, sunsets, etc. it's so fun to just let your mind explore. It's not about what camera you have, but those who are behind the camera! I'm gonna try and photograph the northern lights tonight!
• Cooking and baking
I loveeee to cook and bake! I enjoy making various meals but also love to just have a frozen pizza once in awhile or something like that. I recently made homemade chili which turned out great. I love to bake, especially in the fall! I love pies, cakes, pastries, cookies, etc. I restored a vintage KitchenAid mixer that needed tbe gearbox rebuilt. Eventually I would love to practice home canning my own food.
• Music
Oh my gosh, I like so much!! Alternative rock, punk, post punk, electronic, synth pop, psychedelic rock, hard rock, etc. I am very non judgemental and open when it comes to music. My three current favorite bands are Type O Negative, Joy Division, and the Cure.
• Nature walks and camping
I really enjoy camping, making fires, and relaxing by a campfire. I love to take walks outside and just enjoy the beauty and simplicity of nature. It's wonderful, especially in a world so focused on everything digital.
• Repairing things
I'm a maintenance guy and one of my hobbies is electronics repair so I am good with my hands and just all around good at troubleshooting and fixing all sorts of things around the house. Last week I helped my elderly neighbor get his tractor started, it needed a new component in the starting circuit. So I'm pretty handy which... Comes in handy! 😂
• Autumn 🍁
This isn't a hobby per say, but man do I love the fall!!! It's my absolute favorite time of the year. Oh my gosh. The beautiful colors, crisp cool air, misty and foggy days, rain, lack of bugs, being cuddled up with a candle or by the fire drinking a tea, etc. I love it! There's only two seasons for me. Fall, and waiting for fall! Haha.
• Scented Candles and incense
Going along with my love for fall, I absolutely love candles! I have like 30 something lol. 😂 Currently my favorite are WoodWick, which are owned by Yankee candle. They have such a soothing crackle and the scents are great! I also love to burn incense from time to time as well. I have cottagecore hippie vibes.
• Old houses and architecture
I love old houses! Especially 1900s and Victorian era homes. Old homes have so much character to them and are just so beautiful from a time when people took pride in their craft. I strongly dislike the modern cookie cutter cheap construction of homes today. I would love to live in an old home one day. I also love their architecture and uniqueness, as well as architecture of old cathedrals and other buildings.
• Relaxing
Basic I know, but sometimes on the weekend I just love to get cozy in bed and relax and put on a YouTube video or an album! 😊
That's about it for me, I'm a pretty laid back and simple person. My ideal person is someone who is respectful and honest! I am very straightforward and open minded and would hope that you are as well.
If I seem interesting to you at all I would love to hear from you!
Thank you so much for reading.

Hi,
I am a Lazarus Survivor and I came back with a link from the dimension of the dead. There's a difference between incinerated dead and buried dead. The corpse is a beacon between both worlds and you still feel your corpse after clinical death in the Subconscious Zone. In Memory. You also smell your stench and the burning of the incinerator resulting in a disappearance.
The Subconscious Backroom aka The Sensory-Memory-Dimension.
The hivemind connection of the Sensory-Memory-Dimension through the Subconscious Zone. Where the Collective-Subconscious of every sentient of our planet generates a dimension through what the sensory of our specie flows and assimilates every day. A gateway to other dimensions and the home of dead sentient organic intelligence and sentient predators from other dimensions.
Sensory Dimension Sentient Predators = Capable of generating illusions through our organic sensory.
Dead mammals are in primal mode in this dimension and are being preyed upon by central nodes of instinct manipulated by a very ancient central hivemind. Including dead primates like ourselves.
For them we are Sensorient Sentient Intelligence.
Providing Sensory Information through our bio-sensors.
lazarus survivor.
æ ...
The Net of Death.
The Necronic Zone Dimension.
The third phase of organic life after decomposition. The dead body decomposes and merges with nature. Then the dead bio-processor of the dead sentience becomes one with the dimension of fungi and trees leaving behind parts of it's dna and thoughts from the subconscious. Giving personality traits to the descendants.
This is the ancestry link from the living organics to the Sensory-Memory-Dimension if you don't incinerate the dead of your families. The ancestry of the tree are the people we speak with before being born. Seeing memories of their death through dna memory.
We can see fragments of those memories before the age of five years old.
There is two things in the universe.
-The Numeral Proportions of Reality.
-And Intelligence(Us) as the processing factor of Reality through sensory.
Human Intelligence by 4 Dimentions. -Lucid Conscious (Us)(Calculus). -Sub Conscious (Sensory Reactive Intelligence)(Instinct). -Repetitive Memory. -The Bio-Organic-Engine of the Body(Hunger. Thirst. Needs)
The 5th dimension of human intelligence is the reality of the day that bounces in between the mind and generates reactive thoughts.
lazarus survivor.
æ ...
The Wall of Time.
Is where we are in Time. Now freeze Time and rewind it. The wall goes back and everything is Grey and Black with blurry shapes. If you don't follow it you desintegrate. Electric Burning Sensations. You have to be in the Wall of Time. The Wall of Time is where we are in the present.
Imagine the Milky Way in a turbine. With the downflow of events in wavelength. Where the information of Time goes outside of the box of our dimension is unknown with quantum numeral proportions of reality.
The Big Bang is a crack from Dimension Zero with the stream of our dimension in a flow of Time going one way and spreading into a spherical shape. Forming a turbine with a flow of Time in a different a proportion of size.
The 4 Dimensions are:
-The flow of Time. -Space Empty and Full. -Intelligence as the processing factor of reality through sensory. -Information created and used by Intelligence.
The 5th dimension is the gateway to the outside of a 4 dimentional reality.
The Dimension outside of our universe is a dimension when Time has frozen.
Time isn't an illusion. We are stuck in the Wall of Time.

2024.05.14 02:26 Pyroski The Midterms of 1848 and 1849 Pine & Liberty

Minor Party

This section is dedicated to minor parties that lack ballot access or cannot field candidates beyond specific races, making their chances of winning impossible.
Drunkards
Amidst the backdrop of anti-immigrant and Catholic sentiments fueled by campaigns advocating Temperance and the implementation of anti-alcohol measures on the national agendas of leading political factions, a coalition of politically engaged Catholic and Irish immigrants has emerged. Spearheaded by the influential editor of The Boston Post, James Gordon Bennett Sr., a Scottish Roman Catholic, their collective efforts have given rise to a small yet significant political organization: the Workingman's Party. With minor political connections, the party has largely remained native to Massachusetts, where it has contested several seats across the state, on a platform consisting of only three issues: equal protections for immigrants and immigrant workers, labor rights, and most infamously of all, opposition to temperance and alcohol restrictions. As a consequence, despite its intended role as a champion for laborers and immigrants, the party has more famously become to be known the mocking moniker of the "Drunkards" party, a label crafted by detractors to smear its reputation and insinuate that the party is run by a bunch of alcoholics who only became politically active after attempts to take or limit their bottle consumption.
Initiallyy a French Political illustration published by Honoré Daumier in 1840, the cartoon has gained oversees attention after appearing in a local newspaper attacking the party

2024.05.14 02:24 nero__lucifer Lazarus Survivor.

Hi,
I am a Lazarus Survivor and I came back with a link from the dimension of the dead.

2024.05.14 02:23 Neither-Jeweler763 How can i report someone for harassment?

Hello! i hope everyone is doing well here. Long story short i befriended this user on smule 2 months ago, we’ve had our fair share of fun but she always seems obsessive with smule and would always find any little thing to argue about. i couldn’t join any of her friends without asking for her permission, i couldn’t interact with any of her friends without her getting mad, i couldn’t post invites that she also had open if i don’t join her, i have to block everyone she doesn’t like, i have to always agree with her side of the situation without listening to the other side and if i did she’d say that i am making up excuses for them and would get mad and start yelling in the 100+ voice notes she shares. i would be the villain in all of these instance and she is the victim in every situation. one person who’s friends with her asked her for permission to join me on an invite, he does, i commented and he likes the comment and duet. she goes on for hours crying about how he has never liked any of their duets and i told her that people use this app to escape but she’s making it hard to do anything because i feel like im being monitored. she’ll come to me and talk about how i have more joiners than her on the same songs and she will make it seem like i have control over that. i once told her that i can’t do it anymore and was ready to end the friendship there but she called me fake and cried on and on and on for hours and all i could do was apologize in the end when i did nothing wrong. for the past few weeks i’ve been mentally drained and everytime she complains to me about these small things that really don’t matter i get aggravated anytime because if i tell her that it’s really not that serious, she will bully me and make me feel like i’m a bad person for not caring as much as she does. i thought about it for a while and finally just blocked her on everything yesterday because it was getting to the point i was feeling suffocated and now she has been going around harassing my friends and calling me and them all sorts of names. I also recently found out that so many people have had issues with her because of how crazy she gets when things don’t go her way, blocking her isn’t enough because she will still find ways to harass my followers and i want to find out if it’s possible to have her account removed. Most of the people she’s harassing are barely teenagers and are minors with an exception of a few, she uses derogatory language about them and occasionally says the N word when she is not black. she is way older than these kids but is acting very immature and disrespectful. please let me know how i can report her to smule support, thank you for taking the time to read this.
