AITAH for resenting my father when he's a mamas boy and a lazy father/husband?

2024.05.14 19:19 Ok_House_3280 AITAH for resenting my father when he's a mamas boy and a lazy father/husband?

I 16 year old female started resenting my father (52 male) during the pandemic which is when we moved in with my grandma because we could not afford rent anymore. I started to realize how much of a mamas boy my dad is and how much of a push over he is, for example he would wake up early to drive my aunt to her work; he would constantly be on call for my grandma and do everything she asks him to do even though it would lead him and my mom to fight. My grandma and his siblings didn't like my mom since in their head my mom was the reason why Steven (not the real name of my dad) didn't finish collage even though it was his own decision [my mom finished collage] when we were living in my grandmas house i use to hear them talk shit about my family; my mom mostly. For context i was verry close with my fathers side before this and use to babysit my cousins (i was about 9 at the time and they were 4 and 2) but after that i could never treat them the same and started to stay in my room more then i heard them all me lazy because i only go out of my room when its lunch time (i had online class that starts at 7 so around 6 im already awake). Even though my dad knows they stay shit about us he still doesn't say something and still is on their command. His family would always go first then us. My grandma likes to make up stories about how we disrespect her and stuff even though i mostly stay insde my room and the funny part is Steven belives her so when everthing bottled up there was a huge fight and we moved. For the longest time Steven have not had a stable job and at the same time not want my mom to have a job since he was jealous of the males my mom had to talk to (my mom is a teacher) they relied on my eldest brother to support the family (Electricity bill, water bill, my school fees, grocery). When my brother was still in collage my aunt use to pay our rent (i had a cousin that lived with us since his mom worked in a diffrent country). Around 2022 my mom started working then around 2023 Steven started to work in a call center but that didnt last long since he was always absent. At the end of the last year he borrowed a big sum of money from my brother and said he would return it he didnt my brother said he could not return the money but the money had to be reused in some sort of buissines and he would have to jave job but no matter what my brother pushes him to do all he want to do is play video games all day long. I dont like Steven, i hate talking with him, i dont like neing near him, i dont feel safe with him i saw him hurt my mom in so many diffrent ways and they would always fight no matter where the setting i feel like my brother are more of a father to me than Steven i doesnt feel right calling him my father. He likes to manipulate and gaslight the people around him, he is a prideful male that doesnt have balls he likes to spend and flaunt the money he doesnt have, he like to judge people when infact he is like them. He is moody and gets angry whenever he doesnt get what he likes, he is needy. I dont want to remain in contact with him when i get a job. I do plan on supporting my mother and i want to repay my brother for all that he has done for me but i dont plan on ever contacting Steven.

2024.05.14 19:17 sushithebaker How do I prove that i’m paying rent to my parents?

I have been in contact with Trident Technical College about my residency. They told me that I do not qualify for in-state residency status because I lack of legal domicile (a lease or owning a home) for 12 months in SC. My parents bought a house March of last year and I’ve been paying rent since. I have receipts (Zelle transactions and checks) and can prove it. Is that enough to prove that I reside here in SC?

2024.05.14 19:05 kidlowkeylb Life in France 90's generation

Hello everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. I'm here today to share a bit about my journey and seek some advice from this community.
So, here's the scoop: at 25, I packed my bags and made the leap from Lebanon to Paris (outskirt). Financially, I was starting from scratch – no cash in the bank, but thankfully, no debts either. I hustled my way through college expenses while grinding away back in Lebanon.
Started off my professional life as a FE developer, pulling in a modest 18k for the first couple of years. Then, in year three, landed a new job with a salary bump to 35k. But suddenly, I found myself facing monthly expenses totaling 1200e ( breakdown below ) by year four got a new job with a salary of 45k brut ( 2500 monthly net ) and 48k ( 2600 monthly net ) by year five, my expenses increased with the inflation that was impacted france.
Fast forward to May 2024, and my paycheck's now at 55k (3000 monthly net)
Here's the breakdown of my monthly expenses:
Then yearly travel trips for a total of 800e per year
Total: roughly 2000e per month and sometimes there's unexpected expenses ( family in need etc... )
So, here I am, sitting on roughly 8k that I managed to save over the course of 5years , feeling somewhat at a loss. Is France truly the right place for a loner like myself, especially with those sky-high taxes and social contributions? Do you think the system here favors families more? Maybe it's time to scout out a more budget-friendly neighborhood?
I've been toying with the idea of owning a small apartment, but no bank would give me a loan without an elusive 10% down payment even though once I stop paying rent I can surely afford to pay the loan.
Sometimes, I even entertain the thought of heading back to Lebanon, despite everything that's going on there. I just would like to have a normal life again, like back in Lebanon, have a roof over my head, be able to afford a car and have a dog :) but so far it seems impossible to do so in France without committing to a relationship and living with someone or having a roommate to save a bit of money.
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

2024.05.14 18:46 PanzerWatts Solar Net Metering takes money from the poor and gives to the rich.

For those of you who are not aware, Net Metering is usually a state level law where a consumer with solar panels gets full credit from the power company for all the extra power they generate. On the surface that seems fair. If the Utility charges you $0.18 for using a kwh of power then what's wrong with them having to give you the same amount of money for the extra power.
However, when you dig a little deeper you realise that this is a massive subsidy for the upper middle class and above. The average home with solar panels has a household income of $100K+. In the normal situation a power company may pay a power plant half of the retail price for the power. So, for example, if they charge 18 cents, then they are paying 9 cents for the wholesale power. Where does the rest of the money go? Mostly it goes to high powered distribution lines, sub-stations, transformers, residential power lines, utility meters and everything else associated with delivering power to its customers.
What happens in the case of solar net metering? Well in that case the power company doesn't get paid for every extra bit of power. In the past solar was pretty rare and most systems weren't sized a lot larger than the maximum load of the house. At the end of the day, not much extra power was produced and it wasn't a substantial cost. However, solar panel installers saw the potential market and started selling much larger units that would allow the user to net out to zero money (minus a montly service fee) for an entire year. They would provide loans that would cover a significant chunk of the costs, plus the governmental subsidies and the home owner would just have to pay a smaller monthly note and not pay much at all for electricity.
However, at the end of the day, the utitlies have to cover their costs, so they were forced to raise prices. Naturally people without solar systems were covering the bulk of the costs. This has led to a steady escalation in electricity prices in areas with high concentrations of solar power. Since poor households rent and can't afford solar panels when they own, this has essentially led to a transfer of money to homes with high household incomes.
The solution is obvious. Owners with solar systems should be paid for the wholesale cost of any power they provide in excess to the grid. Of course they can always personally install batteries, which would allow them to effectively use their own excess power. But in either case, they aren't shifting costs to other homeowners.

2024.05.14 18:37 Mark_Alpha_JDS Emigration Questions ($, Employer, Logistics) (UK -> US)

I’ve been blown away by the level of responsiveness and expertise from Redditors for a few related topics which have been a huge help to me. Thanks in advance for any feedback here and I hope I’m in the right place!
I’m in a level of ‘negotiation’ with my Employer (a global Tech company) about a relocation from Southend, SE England to either Alpharetta or Tampa as part of a promotion within my existing Team on what is expected to be a ‘3 year gig’ (at which point the company is expected to be sold which would inevitably see changes of personnel almost certainly those who I am currently ‘negotiating’ with!). Naturally there are a million and one things to consider, especially as a (married) father of two young children.
As I await more formal details of the offer (including the $!), I am trying to speed through all the various research needed which I am simplifying into the below, in order to make negotiations effective and ultimately lead up to a point where I will be able to make an actual decision (likely in the next two weeks)
  1. Understanding the ancillary costs associated with relocating to the US as well as the expected on-going living costs in either location (to also include the likely requirement to relocate BACK in ~3 years time)
  2. Understanding which of the many risks associated with this opportunity I should attempt to have mitigated by my Employer
  3. Understanding any fundamental blockers/showstoppers that could prevent the move from being viable
I’m starting to build up a picture across all three but there were some specific questions I’d really appreciate some insights on. We’re mostly concerned about the number of ‘hidden’ costs there may be, to the extent where the financial gains we are expecting could end up being significantly diminished by the end of the 3 year period (our main objective here is primarily to financial gain – to ideally outright purchase a large family house back in the UK after 3 years and not primarily the ‘experience’ for our family, which we would of course consider a bonus).
·
·
Entirely personal, but also wondering on recommendations for Alpharetta vs Tampa? It would seem cost of living would be comparable (of course, dependent on neighbourhood) with the major differences being probably differences in climate, and I suspect Tampa would be generally much busier, perhaps less safe? For a reasonable 3 bed house it seems around $3K rent per month is the norm, with Alpharetta prices seemingly due to proximity to the tech hubs and Tampa due to the pull of the beaches, climate?
My Wife and I are very excited about the prospect, just trying to be as cautious as possible especially given this will be likely to move quickly!
Many thanks in advance
Mark

2024.05.14 18:02 Kechapunia CRA Capital Expense on rental property question.

Just as title describes I have a question about CRA eligible expenses to be deducted for a rental property. I will be referring to capital expenses and that be carried over future years indefinitely but need some advice. This is not the capital cost allowance but instead capital expense. I live in Ontario province.
Here is the situation: my mom owns the rental and I have been renting for 10+ years from her as a tenant. She has made many home renovations over the past decade like new house roof, new flooring, new driveway asphalt etc. She has given me money to work with contractors to get these jobs done as she lives out of province. However, all of the receipts invoices are in my name because I was on site to arrange for these renovations to happen and had to sign for purchase agreements.
Question: Can she still use these receipts that reference her rental property address when declaring CRA capital expense? Or no because all purchase agreements were in my name even though she was the one who paid for everything?
If I had known better I would have made sure to record receipt in her name but hindsight is 20/20.

2024.05.14 17:37 Woodsy594 Flat downstairs has turned our water off.

I live in a 2 bedroom flat with my wife and 4 kids. 13, 11, 5 and 2. One of them has autism. It's temporary/emergency accommodation as our old landlord sold the house we rented and we cannot afford the rent prices here, so regrettably had to request help from Local Authority to house us.
Since someone has moved in downstairs, we have had issues with noise, banging and broken window by our front door. He also has Autism. 1 bedroom flat, on his own. He has a stopcock valve to our flat in his flat and has turned our water off. Its been 11 days since he turned it off, then back on again minimally. Now the pressure is decreasing daily, it takes over a minute to fill a litre bottle of water. The electric shower doesn't work. The washing machine doesn't work.
We have reported all this to building management and he is refusing entry to his flat, so that a plumber can remove the stopcock valve and we have water again.
There are 6 of us living here with such a pitiful supply of water. What can I do? I've asked him, politely, to turn the water back on and he said yes. Didn't, instead reported me to the police for threatening behaviour and discrimination towards his disability. Its on our Blink door camera that my conversation with him was in no way threatening nor was I discriminatory.
How do I go about getting my supply sorted? Can I report him to the police for terrorising my family? Shouldn't I have access to clean water legally, by Human Rights Law? In England.

Photo above - this house for sale in NJ got 120 offers, and sold for $150K over the listing price. Both the seller and buyer are probably winners . . .
Hallelujah! If you ALREADY own a home, you're on top of the world. Home prices are up nearly 50% since 2020. If you DONT already on a home, you're on the bottom of the world. Either consigned to renting, or living underground in mom's basement. (see link at bottom)
Yesterday I posted about some TV financial guru who was telling everyone that “a home is the worst investment you can make”. This is the same guy who has his Malibu home listed for 60% (!!) more than he paid for it 2 years ago. Do as I say, not as I do?
The Biden administration – in fact, both parties – struggle to push the narrative that this is the best of times. Republicans are also running on “the worst of times” rhetoric, but that's not strictly true, either. It all depends on whether you already own land, get subsidies for your electric car, have your student loans wiped clean, etc.
A friend asked me “what's a good job to have these days?” (Not mine – I can't afford to buy a home right now either.) Working for the government was my impulsive reply. You never get laid off because of poor business conditions. The government doesn't go out of business. They have unlimited credit to borrow, and pay your salary. You don't get fired due to absenteeism or tardiness. You have to commit a felony to actually get fired. And you have guaranteed raises. Your rank and compensation depends entirely on years of service and how many credentials you acquired along the way. In no way are they related to job performance. If you doubt me, ask about the teachers earning $100,000 a year in DC who have Masters degrees in education, worked there for 20 years, but in a school with a 50% dropout rate.
Back to home prices. People – the Fed, the President, even homebuilders – were expecting home prices to come WAAAY down when mortgage rates were jacked up. All the best minds were wrong. Turns out that if you ALREADY own a home, you're in no hurry to give up that low-rate mortgage and move to a new one. Who'd have guessed? Not the Fed, clearly.
Right now (and for the past 6 months) the government spin has been “inflation is tamed. It's only 3.X%”. Which of course is twice the target rate of 2% inflation. And those inflation numbers certainly don't include the 50% rise in home prices since 2020. Just pretend that isn't happening.
Gas is down a nickel a gallon this week. Somebody in the government is probably taking credit for that. But those nickels aren't bringing us any closer to owning our homes, and building lifelong equity. But we're actually part of the problem too. The morning Starbucks and evening Dominos money could be diverted into down payment savings. Or even a 401K match deposit.
Congrats to everyone who already bought a home. But admit it - you were lucky, instead of smart. My sympathies to those left behind. But it's not the fault of people who already bought houses. It's because zoning laws and other restrictions mean we're only building half as many new homes as we need to keep up with population growth. You might as well keep enjoying your Starbucks and Dominos this rate. There's practically no way you're going to get through the door as long as new construction is choked off.
I'm just sayin' . . .
~US home prices have surged 47% since the start of 2020 (msn.com)~

2024.05.14 17:03 seayouIntea Our realtor is no help, advice needed- to buy or to walk (NC)

This might be a little long, and I apologize in advance. I'll include what information I have, and we need input as we don't really have experienced elders freely offering advice and our agent is seemingly no help. (I have yet to encounter a helpful agent, and this is our third home purchase, but I digress)
We are under contract on a home purchase in NC. This is our second time buying in NC and so I am familiar with the process and DD and all of that. The market we're buying in right now is way overvalued. The home isn't our dream home, or final home, for that matter- but we're willing to stay in it for 5-6 years, or turning it into a rental sooner. It's a 1975 ranch, it's too small for us and these boys of mine aren't getting any smaller. Granted, we are moving from 5b4ba 4,00sqft and have done a lot of necessary home repairs between this home and the previous one totalling about $20-30k in each home- just for some add'tl background.
Pros: the mortgage would be equal to local rents (providing we apply 100% of the equity from the sale of our current home) and it is in the school district I want for my children.
SO: 1975 ranch. Sold in 2020 ($250k) and again in 2022 ($340k). Currently listed at ($398k with 5% commission $20k) Both buyers overpaid ~20k over ask. Neither of these buyers did any updates/repairs to the property, it's a bit of a fixer-upper. I don't think the current owners ever actually lived in it, it's completely empty, they are ~75-80 years old, the home is in a trust & I think they're trying to liquidate. While the list agent is out of the same broker as our buying agent, our agent won't divulge any details and that is fine. whatever.
We offered $388k with CC. They accepted our ask, with only $5k CC concession. We accepted. We only put down $1k DD and $1k EMD
We just completed a home inspection this past Saturday. The home has water in the crawlspace, elevated moisture reading >19% "fungal growth," torn down insulation, duct work damage, vapor barrier is only cover ~60% of the crawl space, outdated panel, no GFCIs in the home, leaking sink drain, and a 22+ year old hot water heater showing corrosion. Because we are using a VA loan, the moisture issue would have to be addressed to approve funding.
We would also like to do a septic inspection, though our agent won't schedule one (the whole system was replaced in 2019) and a roof inspection, but she is dragging her feet that "we won't have time."
We told our agent we would absolutely need the seller to cover 100% close so we can address these issues. She said them agreeing to that is unlikely as they agreed $10k under ask with $5k in CC. But, we would need them to cover close to we can address these issues. We are somewhat aware of what these repairs will cost as we have done them before.
She wants us to request repairs from the sellers- though I'm not sure they'll willingly replace an entire vapor barrier (~$6k and electrical ~$2k) She's not offering any additional advice, as we aren't sure what they'll have to do to remedy the issue to cover VA requirements. I don't want to shell out for more inspections if theyre unwilling to make more concessions.
Which brings me here. How would you proceed? Should we walk? I've applied to a couple of rentals as a plan B, to sit and wait and watch the market- but we wouldn't be able to purchase for a year (& that's fine if we save ourselves an outpouring of issues in the interim, despite having to move again in a year).

2024.05.14 16:40 InsightJ15 [Landlord - NY] Verbal Rental Agreement

Hi All - I just had an offer accepted on a duplex. I was told the tenants were on a 'month to month lease'. I found out today both tenants are on a verbal month-to-month agreement with the LL. The LL seems to have no idea what he was doing - he didn't take care of any problems the tenants were having - didn't even buy CO detectors for the house (tenant did out of his own pocket).
Both tenants did sign an original 12 month lease, and after it turned into verbal month-to-month. I have not seen the leases yet. Obviously I'm concerned about a potential squatter situation. I have seen copies of rent receipts, both tenants have paid the past few months.
Can I require both tenants sign leases as part of the sales contract? Not sure how this works. Basically want to know if I can make it mandatory they sign a rental agreement. Any advice or shared experiences would be appreciated, thanks

2024.05.14 16:27 Humble_Occasion4491 I'm 16 and pay rent.

So basically I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my family. The rent is $1,400 along with the hidden fees that no one gets told about when renting apartments.
I just recently got a job and I'm getting told to help with rent. Not only that but also the bills. I just don't know if it's normal to help by paying $318 for the electric bill.
I was supposed to get $200 back from my mom's boyfriend because of a deal we made but I know he's not gonna pay it back so my mom said that he's just gonna give that to her instead and that will be my rent. It just doesn't make sense to me. Not only that but I also pay for Netflix and I don't even use it and I can't stop paying because that's how Netflix works apparently.
I mean that's how much I make per paycheck and I get paid bi-weekly. I just got a job in the beginning of the year and I just didnt expect this. I at least had enough money for some time to get a new phone and a plan for it and yet I still get grounded for being on it after 8 pm.
I'm basically working part time after school for most of the week just for the majority of the money to not be mine. I can have like $300 and be afraid to use it because I feel like it's not mine. Is this normal?

2024.05.14 16:06 Witty_Mango828 A week without hot water in my apartment. What can I do?

Not sure how much detail is needed so just giving the run down of the situation.
I’ve been without hot water in my apartment since last Wednesday. Wednesday evening, I contacted my gas company and they said that my gas bill was paid up-to-date and I should be having hot water and to contact my landlord because it must be an issue with the building. I called the emergency maintenance line on Thursday morning and I notified my property manager. Over the phone she said she would send maintenance by to fix it and then via text she said that she was going to stop by to ensure that it wasn’t a quick fix. She came by while I was gone and said that she fixed the water heater and it should be working. When I returned a few hours later, it was not working and I notified her right away. She said it was too late in the day at that point and the plumbers wouldn’t be able to come out until Friday morning.
The plumbers came out between 7 and 8 AM on Friday morning and they attempted to fix it. They said that my water meter tank thingy was broken and that I will need to get a replacement water meter. They said they would send someone out later that day to replace it and they did. It was replaced and the hot water was still not working. My property manager contacted me asking if I was sure I transferred the gas bill to my name as I just moved in on May 1. I notified her that I did transfer it to my name and I had contacted them on Wednesday night to confirm. She asked me to contact them again and that she was also on the phone with them. When I contacted them, they said that everything should be working, but they will send someone out between 3 and 7 PM that day to try to understand what the issue was.
Someone came out around 5 PM and spent quite a bit of time trying to understand what the issue was and they were able to determine that my water meter was not hooked up to the correct gas line. It was hooked up to another unit’s gas meter and they had not paid their bill so their gas had been turned off, which meant my hot water was turned off. The person also said that all of the plumbing and wiring was messed up, not even just for my unit and I’m unsure if someone is hooked up to my gas line potentially using gas which would require me to pay for gas that I’m not even using but that is not my main concern.
The property manager was notified of the situation by both me and the person from the gas company and she contacted the other tenant from the unit and asked him to pay the bill so that I could have hot water. He paid the bill that night and was told that they couldn’t get anyone out until Monday. Property manager called to confirm and she was able to confirm that they weren’t able to get anyone out until Monday, I asked her what time on Monday and she said they work in 8-hour windows and wasn’t able to provide me a timeframe. I was home for most of the day yesterday and let her know when I needed to leave. I received no response from her. I came back yesterday evening and the hot water was not on. I checked this morning and the hot water was still not on. I notified her this morning because now it has been a week without hot water and I haven’t been able to get the issue resolved. She said they came out yesterday to unlock the gas line so it should be working and she will contact the plumber, but will send the maintenance technician out in the meantime. Is there anything that I can do? This obviously is an ethical issue but is there a legal issue with this as well? Water bill is included in rent. We pay gas, electricity, and internet separately.
Location is Minneapolis Minnesota USA.

2024.05.14 15:45 TaeyeonUchiha Am I over-reacting?

My mom has been staying with me for a week, goes home tomorrow. This morning I looked at my thermostat cuz I thought it felt warm in here and I realized the heat was on. I asked her if she turned it on, casually said “yeah a week ago”. I’ve been leaving my windows open during the day almost everyday cuz it’s been nice out. I’m not made of money and now I find out I’ve been heating the outside for a week. I’ve also tossed my mom a considerable amount of money this week for various reasons. Now she’s being condescending and telling me to “calm down” and I “don’t understand how the heating bill works” and stuff like “well why is it ok for you to leave your computer on if you’re so concerned about energy bills” BECAUSE IT’S MY FUCKING HOUSE AND I DECIDE WHICH SHIT IS ON/OFF. I’m just incredibly pissed off over it and especially her attitude. I’ve been out chain smoking and when I came back in she asked if I was “done being an asshole” so now I’m more irritated. Also says because I’m her daughter it’s my job to take care of her as a guest in my house and she doesn’t need to ask for permission for stuff. She had the heaviest blanket I own and an electric blanket on her bed cuz I knew she’d bitch about being cold, she was far from freezing to death.
She’s going back to Florida tomorrow (where she does not pay energy bills since it’s included in her rent) and I don’t want anyone in my house for a while. I live alone so I know I’m not used to /don’t like anyone touching my stuff, but am I overreacting?

2024.05.14 15:42 rustyshows Query related to 10 year ILR route

Hi all,
I have currently 5+ years continuous residence , but I had various switches in between from ICT , to ICT dependant, swv dependant, so the counter has reset so many times. Currently on a swv main I have options for 5 years if there are no redundancies in my organisation coming soon, again If I switch back to my partners at any case in future (worst case) I would need to consider the 10 year route. My query here is, for a period of first 3 years - I have stayed at house shares (for which I have one or two rent receipts from the landlord , but later, I really don't have anything on my name for 2 years (what I mean is a tenancy agreement or utility bills), But I had a driving license / insurance details, HMRC updates , credit card statements which I was updating during this time, also I may be able to get letter from the Employer that I was employed with them in the UK location. Will these documents support my presence in the UK for the initial 3 years , or does HO insists on mandatory documents like utility bills ?

2024.05.14 15:07 No_Software_4838 Need a new car but worried about buying a Tesla y before the new version comes out.

My car is totaled and I have to buy a new one. I want an electric car and model Y seems like the best option right now for my needs. Would it be foolish to buy the model y right now if there’s a new version of the car coming out at the end of this year Should I consider renting a car for six months and tough it out to get the new version of the model Y?

2024.05.14 14:50 Varkopsnsin 25. Hopeless, condemned to a life of misery and perpetual unhappiness

It all started when I was expelled out of college at 18 (I was going for a Mechanical Engineering degree) due to low GPA.
I then tried doing something else but COVID happened so I became a NEET for two years.
After that I went back to college for a Electric Engineering degree but it wasn't going well for me and I didn't like it so I dropped out after 4 months.
BTW, I asked my psychologist if I have something like Dyslexia, a learning disorder, ADHD, etc... they said no. They also told me I was "normal".
Then I got some excel certs and found a job as an Assitant Secretary close to where I live. I've worked there for 2 years now with no possibility of promotion or anything. I had to move out of my parents because of reasons I don't want to dwell into, so 80% of paycheck goes to rent, food, utilities. I cannot work manual labor jobs due to some health-related problems I again cannot dwell into.
In the meanwhile, I've spent all my free time in front of a computer consuming content. I'm overweight and balding. Never hung out with friends, kissed a girl, spend my days daydreaming about what ifs in life.
I work 8am-7pm with a 1h commute, so the only possibility I see to get a better life is trying online university part-time, graduating at 35. I have no interest in any major and nothing excites me. I'm too stupid for Engineering so I guess that is not an option.
If I were to go back to 16-yo me and tell myself this is your future, I honestly would have done something extreme.
I have missed out on relationships, friends, parties, concerts, degrees, you know the "normal" thing. Heck I've never once held a girl's hands.
Even if I try changing myself, I cannot see how I can recover from all of this trauma. 7 years of psychologists have not helped.
I'm behind everyone I know, I missed out on everything, I see no hope, my life is joyless and miserable.
This is what adulthood has been to me.

2024.05.14 14:46 BlueBird112358 Changing flats - from I limited contract to limited (1,5 years) one. What do you think?

Hi everyone, have a question about my housing situation. I'm currently living in a WG with unlimited contract (480€), but disadvantages: - living with 3 other guys, one I can't really get along at all. Flat is not clean or functional. - Hauptmieter definitely wants me out and bullies regularly (like texting, or showing up in th flat, not). He wants to rent my room (the biggest room of the flat) for much more money. - Hauptmieter guy is very shady. He doesn't pay the bills sometimes, internet or electric.. we pay everything included to him. - flat is ground floor, loud and problematic.
Now the new WG, I mostly gonna live alone. The other person(Hauptmieter) will come only once month for few days. Disadvantages - More pricey. 630 in total. Room is big as my current one. - 1,5 years of contract. So it's limited. So need to find a flat in not far future. - Living with your Hauptmieter is always bit stressful. It's more hierarchical in the flat, compared to current one.
It's for sure an improvement, but what do you guys think? Housing situation is not easy where I live, so that's a solution so far I came up with.

2024.05.14 12:48 dnyra323 Is It Still Worth It?

Hey! I just wanna ask for an outsider's perspective. Apologies in advance if lengthy.
Sooooo I am under a VA agency na okay naman chill lang. They use Time Doctor for tracking purposes nga lang. Goods naman ako sa client ko nung una and goods ako sa pamamalakad. Sahod? I'm gonna put it in dollars nalang, if you convert, it's around $490 per month, bi-weekly sahod and it's a full time position. Monday-Saturday ang work ko. At first medyo alanganin ako pero I was like okay since ang hirap maghanap ng client, and for experience and all of that stuff. Magaan din naman yung tasks (at first lolololol) Niche is real estate and property management assistant, like kung sa BPO man ito ako lahat ng campaign at LOB x10.
First few weeks may 1 or 2 na pending kasi napprioritize yung mas important, but natatapos kinabukasan which is okay lang naman. Never kami nag uusap ni client ko na as in 1:1, once lang tapos puro mention and messages lang. Not until yung 5 primary tasks naging 12 ata pucha hahahaha and it's not the number of tasks yung problema ko, it's the number of steps per tasks and the number of people I have to do it for ang problema ko.
Say for example creating a lease agreement for a new tenant. May template sya so okay di na mahirap yung part na yun. Problem is the steps for that task. First creating a profile sa CRM ni client for the tenant, and then text the tenant the password, upload the lease sa another CRM and then sa bawat signature field assign it to the signers. Now the lease is 25 pages long, and I have to do it for 10-15 different people. Bwenas pa kung magulo utak nung tenant syempre papalitan ko na naman lahat ng details. What if lahat sila magulo utak? It takes me like more than half the shift alone and then magtatambak pa sya ng ibang tasks na dapat din daw matapos within the day. Another one is regarding sa delinquent rent, again may template BUT I have to do it say, for 60 people. So that means I replace the template 60 times with 60 different details, and upload it 60 times to the CRM for signature stuff and then download it, send it to the tenant plus text them about it. It took me the entire shift plus OT na 5 hours to finish it, kasi may mga stops because not all the info na naibigay is accurate. Mag aask ako kay client, hours bago pa magreply so I have to pushback sending some notices, just to be sure lang kasi legal stuff yun.
Kanina, nagkaroon ng management meeting, nagcomplain na daw sya sa deliverables ko. So I explained my side and I still owned up to it. Pero well syempre at the end of the day, pag nasa agency ka, best interest ni client ang priority nila. They asked me about my productivity bakit daw mababa kung sinasabi ko na natatambakan na ako, and I straight up said na I sometimes just step away nalang from my desk kasi nabuburn out na ako. Baka naman daw di lang ako marunong mag prioritize, wdym everyday pumapasok ako 300+ emails ang inbox ko even on rest days or outside shift nagfoforward sya ng gawain to the point na di ko na alam uunahin. Tapos everything is urgent sa client and then sinabi daw nya na doable naman daw yun in 8 hours. But if you look at his schedule sobraaaang luwag na as in kaya nya magreply agad. Should I continue?? I feel like I'm wasting my time
I have a 2nd client who pays higher and cold calling lang ginagawa ko don, di pa micromanager. It doesn't matter how many dials as long as may dials.
EDIT: Umaga pa pala nag email si client sa agency, kinausap nila ako pa-EOS na with no heads up or even just a meeting marker. WF pa ang pinachat sakin to join the meeting, nagulat nalang ako na may ganitong ganap.
