Vecna buff suggestions. (8.0.0 PTB)

2024.05.15 22:23 ANewPrometheus Vecna buff suggestions. (8.0.0 PTB)

After watching a lot of content and playing him myself, a lot of people definitely feel that his power is too easy to counter and is a little too punishing to use.
So, I've come up with some suggestions to hopefully make his power better to use.
Flight Changes:
  1. Reduce the slowness at the end of the flight by 1 second. (It's slightly too long.)
  2. Increase flight duration by 1 second. (It feels slightly too short.)
Flight of the Damned Changes:
  1. Lower the height of the Skeletons to be undodgable through crouching. (His Skeletons are already hard enough to aim, and spread too far at a range to where it feels the Survivors generally have too many ways to counter it. They currently have the options of: Dodging, Crouching, and also just holding W since they take a bit too long to send out.)
  2. Decrease the rate at which the Skeletons spread. (The Skeletons spread a bit too quickly after they begin flight. It makes using this power at a range very difficult.)
Dispelling Sphere Changes:
  1. Increase the speed at which the Sphere moves to 4.8 m/s. (Currently, the Sphere moves a bit too slow. It moves slightly slower than 4.6 m/s, so this would allow the Sphere to go ahead of the Killer and show you where nearby Survivors are.)
  2. Increase the Sphere's size by 2 meters. (Currently, there is an addon in the game that allows you to do this already, however, the Sphere just feels too small at base, as well as it not feeling good enough with the addon, this would also decrease the chances of Survivors being inside of the Sphere and not getting detected, as that is an issue I've encountered when they're on the edge of the Sphere.)
Mage Hand Changes:
  1. Increase the time Mage Hand blocks a pallet by 4 seconds. (It is already 4 seconds long, which is just enough for Survivors to make a second lap around most tiles, and allow them to use the pallet anyway. This would increase the amount of time he blocks pallets 8 seconds, which is 4 seconds less than Hex: Blood Favor.)
  2. Decrease the Slowness while using Mage Hand. (Currently, you are slowed down too much while using Mage Hand. If you lift up a pallet with his ability, not only do you allow the Survivors to recycle the Pallet without bringing Any Means Necessary, but you also are slowed down while charging the power, which feels even more punishing to use.)
Now, some changes to the Magic Items I would give.
The Skyguard Changes:
  1. Add a limit of 32 meters of the Aura detection.
The Nightwatch Changes:
  1. Add a limit of 32 meters of the Aura detection.
The Archivist Changes:
  1. Add a limit of 32 meters of the Aura detection.
The Interloper Changes:
  1. Add a limit of 32 meters of the Aura detection. (I'm suggesting the limit of the aura detection range on all Magical Items since if used in a group setting, you can easily know where Vecna is at all times through the use of coordinated communication. Limiting the range would make it to where only people who are in an immediate vicinity gain use of the information, which could still be very helpful to counter his powers.)
  2. Remove the 7% Haste effect after Mage Hand is used. (This effect is just the final nail in the coffin for Mage Hand. Even though it only lasts for 3 seconds, Vecna is already significantly slowed down while using Mage Hand, so this just feels like overkill.)
There are no changes I'd suggest for the Hand of Vecna, or the Eye of Vecna. They are both balanced as they can only be used while Healthy, injure you after use, and also gives Vecna the ability to mori you.
The rest of these changes are just suggestions. I'm not saying ALL of them should be good to add. but most of them certainly would. The abilities I feel are in the most need of buffs are Mage Hand, Flight of the Damned, and The Interloper Magic Item. The Dispelling Sphere is mostly okay, but a couple slight changes would still be welcome, and wouldn't make it over-tuned at all since it has a long cooldown and only gives information. Fly is ALMOST perfect. It just feels a little bit more punishing to use than I feel it should be.
Please give me your thoughts in the comments. I'd love to hear any suggestions you have, or how you feel about limiting the aura-reading ability on the Magic Items.

2024.05.15 22:13 Alingruad My travel trailer was rear ended and flipped, insurance won't help.

I was rear ended on a highway while turning left, police report says this, I wasn't found at any fault. It said the other driver was inattentive. When I got the police report, I saw that the person who hit me is under "federal insurance company" which is... incredibly vague. The station didn't have any further information at the time. To make this worse, when I contacted my insurance, they said they couldn't find any insurance company under the mans license plate. I don't want to forfeit a ton of the payout money on a lawyer, but I'm sort of at a loss for what to do.
My truck was insured, the trailer was not. My insurance company refused to even check on the trucks alignment after it got its rear end lifted by 4 feet by the flipped trailer. The trailer is... probably totaled, worth around 25k. It was my place of living, so I'd rather get this sorted relatively soon.
TL;DR I can't find the company I need to make a claim on, all I have is the generic name and a policy number.

2024.05.15 21:53 juiceb0xm0m3 Overrun with freight

My store can't be the only one that's completely overran with freight coming in. Apparently the RDC is backed up and they have to ship it out. But our receiving is jam packed and isles are being over ran by carts full of new merchandise and pallets of goods. All just waiting to be put away/find an overhead etc. We've all been putting out as much freight as we can even just as your run of the mill associates. Freight team is bearly putting a dent in it and it fills back up the next day. Even getting trucks on sundays.

This is for the HCDC people and for any DC member in here but how the hell do y’all think it’s ok to send trucks out with stuff falling everywhere and things being unable to be pulled out. Like today we got a truck in and there were 2 breakdown pallets that weren’t even wrapped. Do the DC people just hate everyone?

2024.05.15 21:30 Stryder6987 Power Issue - Loss of Speed

Power Issue - Loss of Speed
https://preview.redd.it/92qtkzfk6n0d1.jpg?width=1120&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fce910f0c562f34cc06e87635e97fa03c2ed8956
I'm wondering if I could get some input on an possible power issue I'm experiencing. The diagram shows the basic layout. I've made some minor adjustments (eg: a re-railer replaced the two small track sections below the Direction of Travel arrow) but they shouldn't have any affect as the issue was the same before they were made.
Here's the history:
Originally, with only Power Feeder Track 1 installed, as the train came down the left side and crossed from track section #1 into section #2, it began to slow down more and more as it travelled through section #2 and approached the intersection of section #2 and section #3. By the time it reached section #3, it would lose about 60%-70% of it's speed. Once it crossed into section #3, it resumed full speed.
I replaced the #2 section of track with a different piece, but the issue remained. I pinched the 4 unijoiners between sections 1 & 2 and 2 & 3 to create a tighter connection but that didn't make a difference. I then replaced those unijoiners with 4 new ones. Still no change.
Thinking it could be a simple lack of power, I then added three more power locations at the three Power 2 locations using Terminal Unijoiners. This did help somewhat (as well as fixing some earlier undiscovered dead spots when switches were thrown), but the train would still lose about 40% of it's speed in the same area in section #2. I took this opportunity to drill holes through the base and feed all of the lines (power and switches) under the base so it wouldn't run under the track on the surface.
To fix a leveling issue on the bottom left of the track layout that would cause parked rolling stock on the spur to roll out onto the main track, I put small (1mm - 2mm) cardboard shims under the track between the switch (section #3) and the spur and track section #2. This seemed to really affect (in a good way) the issue as the train now would only lose about 10% of it's speed when it would travel through that track section.
This makes no sense to me as my understanding of how Kato track power works is that the contact portion of the terminal unijoiners is on the edge of the tracks, not along the bottom (I was told this). Pinching the unijoiners to make a tighter side connection should be the prime way to affect/increase the connection, not lifting (thus separating) the track ends.
Are there any suggestions as to what else I can try to resolve this weird issue? It's not nearly as bad as it originally was, but there's still a speed loss in that one location and I'd like to figure out why, if for no other reason than to gain some knowledge.
Thanks!

2024.05.15 20:57 giraffeshapedcrayons Unload/PIPO QUESTION

How do you guys unload/handle pipo? Do you organize it as you unload or wait till end? Need advice
I ask because I am trying to figure out the most efficient way to push it. And have it done atleast before 8 if not sooner.
If everyone shows up and it's not a bigger size truck. I usually have someone push it as it comes off. So most will be done before we are done unloading.
We use to could wait till after unload because a person who quit could still do it and get it done before 8 and still have time to push other things.
But now we struggle.
I wonder if separating all the pets while you unload (maybe dropping pallet inside to the side of the truck or outside. ) may speed up the push.
Looking for tips on how to get this done and wrapped up before 8. Thanks.

2024.05.15 20:07 WTF_Conservatives In defense of the slowest new car you can buy: Why the Mirage is the ultimate zombie apocalypse car.

I gotta say as a proud owner of the Mirage (which my daughter named "baby beast"), I was offended by all the shit talking in that other thread.
The Mirage isn't powerful. It isnt pretty. It won't get you the ladies. There's no argument on these points.
But if there were ever a zombie apocalypse or SHTF situation you will want to ditch your Ford raptors, jeeps and hummers. Because the Mirage is the best car you can have.
Fuel efficiency. There is no other car out there that gets the kind of fuel efficiency the mirage gets without being bogged down by the electrical problems or complications that come from hybrids or electric cars. And in a SHTF situation, gas will not be easy to come by. The Mirage can simply get you farther away from danger on less fuel than most cars.
Easy repairs. The Mirage is one of the only cars that you can still fix just about everything on with just a set of hand tools. It has a cable clutch. It has a freaking distributor. I'm pretty sure the most powerful computer it has is its clock. If something goes down on it... all you need is a few simple hand tools and some duct take and it will get you at least a few hundred miles away from zombies. Which you likely won't need to do because:
Reliability. The Mirage is insanely reliable. All of the parts on it were meant to be on cars that have between 120 and 200 horsepower. This little beast rocks just 74 horsepower. You routinely see Mirage with 250,000 miles on them without needing major repairs. There are a few out there with half a million miles on them. And if something goes wrong? All good because of point two.
Room for storage. The Mirage is deceptively roomy. I've taken my daughter on week long camping trips in it and we've never had an issue. We've just had to be creative. You can fit all of the zombie weapons you could need in it just fine... and still fit two or three people in it.
No one wants it.. So you think a badass Jeep with all the bells and whistles is the best vehicle for zombies or SHTF? Well guess what? So does everyone else. That makes you a target. And the second you close your eyes, someone may jack your shit. But nobody wants a Mirage in a situation like this. Only those of us who are enlightened.
Now I know what you are thinking.... but it can't go off road! And you are right. But neither can any other vehicle in a zombie apocalypse. Because it doesn't matter how high your truck is lifted or how many accessories you have on your Jeep. Anyone who has off roaded knows it causes problems for your vehicle.
That's it. I just want to throw it out there that the next time you see a guy driving a mirage... maybe do t laugh at him. Because when SHTF... you just may need him.

2024.05.15 19:50 trippin_okko Troubleshooting crown cans

Hello
Is there anyone from Europe here canning with Crown cans? I've been using it today for the first time and the seamer hasn't been able to work on crown cans with crown lids, tried modifying every settings, from the lift table to both die but nothing worked out.
I usually work with ardagh without any issue.
By the end of the day we tried using ardagh lids on crown cans and it finally worked, but we have tons of pallets from crown to use , so if anyone here has a recommendation on this issue, I'd like some help !
To resume, the main issue with crown is that the lids were not properly seamed on the can so cans were leaking from time to time.

PLUNCK
Ponthyts blue stick clattered on the board, rolling around in a circle. Before settling on three. He then pumps his paw and moves to move a soldier that many paces.
“Well, I got you cornered now, whatcha going to do about it?” I smirk at Ponthyts soon to be dashed confidence as I take out my red stick and flip in the air much higher than he did with his own.
It hits the board with a loud clatter, bouncing on each end before settling on rolling. To which it landed on seven. I move my last interceptor through his ranks and take his general. The gobsmacked look on his features was evident, with his previously wagging tail so still it made stone seem fluid.
“I win.”
“How did you do that?”
I rolled my shoulders and readjusted my legs underneath. “Well, you left a clear path for my interceptor.” I pointed to the gaps in his remaining pieces.
“I know that! I mean how did you know you'd get a high enough number to do that? Your interceptor was all the way back here and it's your last red piece!!!”
I lean my head back and lean against the wall behind me. “I didn't, I just saw an opportunity and took it.”
He pointed a digit at me “ Mershit, that was some grandmaster trap!”
I give him the ear position of resignation with a mirthful little grin. “I promise you it was just luck.”
He waves his paw dismissively. “I don't believe you.”
“Well believe it, because I don't plan ahead like that. Want to play another game?”
He shakes his head. “Nah I think four games is enough for one night.” He begins moving the pieces into their containers and folds up the board and places it on top of them. Closing the box. He then stands up and offers me his paw, I use it to pull myself up off the floor.“Well Maarchal, I’ll see you tomorrow at the observatory. I’ll bring the set if you want to play it during lunch if you want.”
I froze, “what! What time is it? He turns over to look at the clock above his strove.
“Ahh about Fifteen minutes past 18.”
“Uh, that's not that late! We could play another game! C’mon let's have a tie breaker!”
He rubs his eyes, “I’m tired and we have work in the morning. Is there something you're avoiding?”
I rub my upper right arm and look off into the corner. “...”
He took on a worried look, “Why don't you want to go home Maarchal?”
I sighed and took a seat at his dining room table. “I… I don't like that house, I’ve lived there since I moved to LIghra six years ago but it's not a… home like here.”
I looked around at the messy abode. Dirty cloaks were strewn about on the back of chairs and the rubbish trough was just barely not overflowing. Paintings either from family or Ponthyts own paw were hanged up in the hallways, and the lightbulbs cast a warm orangish light. While the dishes from our dinner were placed in the sink, covered with animal gravy slathered all over them. It was tidy yet just barely so. A place filled with all the markers of being lived in.
“You've lived here less than a year but it feels like it's always had you in it. I feel … so comfortable here. My own home is so… cold and sterile. I Worked a lot the first few months I moved here. I just never got around to making it a home. It feels so bare, I started to work overtime just to avoid it. Which just made the problem worse.”
He sat down across from me, He put his head in his paws and looked at the scratched wood of his table. He held that position for a minute or two before breaking it and placing his paw on my own. “Maarchal, you are my best friend, I want you to feel comfortable. So if you want you can sleep on my coach, I can also help you make your home feel like one."

I shake my head, “no no, I shouldnt of imposed on you. Making myself feel at home is a job I need to do and have been avoiding for far too long. It's just… it's just so much easier to avoid you know?” I grabbed his paw and squeezed it. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I stand up and make my way to his front door before he speaks up.

“Uh hey Maarchal?”

I turn to address him “yeah?”

He shifts in his seat and fidgets with his fingers. “I’m uh, going to Ootra lake next week. I was wondering If you'd like… to come with me? I promise if you don't have a tent I’ll bring you one. We could have a fire, roast some meat on it and share ghost stories and stargaze… if you want?”

“ What about work?”

He rocks in his chair. “We'd have to call in for a day or so.”

I contemplated his words and mulled them over. It would be the first time I’ve ever willingly taken off a day, tarnishing my perfect attendance. But the prospect of spending more one on one time with Ponthyt was overwhelmingly tempting.

“Sure, I’d love to go. But I haven't gone camping for years so you will need to bring me a tent.”

He leapt from his chair, launching it backwards, before calming himself down. “I’ll take care of all the prep. You just have to come along. I promise it’ll be loads of fun!”

I chuckled while I watched his clearly restrained display as I slowly closed the door.

I could hear him howl with enjoyment as I turned into the driveway to get to my auto.

**\*

Huff, Huff, you doin alright there Ponthyt?” I turned back to see him walking behind me.

“Yeah, oof I haven't walked this much in years!”

I waited for him to catch up, we sat together when he did and we caught our breath before tuning to make our way back up the bluff. When we reached it there was a stone gazebo made of limestone. The angle of the sun let it shine into it. We walked into it and sat down on the stone benches. I looked around at the lake.

It was surrounded by steep hills with many rock faces visible, the layered stone was clearly visible. The topography of the area around the bluffs was shaped like a bowl, with the sight of land of higher elevation faintly visible in the distance despite its gradual slope. Giving a scene of depth that was not as extreme then in more mountainous areas. This view was normally hidden by the trees below.

“Well isn't this view alone worth the trip?” Ponthyt proclaimed.

I looked around letting the mid morning sun warm my back, I stretched my arms and breathed deeply. Taking in all the wonderful scents of nature.

“Yeah, it's beautiful.” I let myself relax, just letting the sounds and scents of nature calm me like I have never been since I was a pup on an archeological trip with mom and dad.

“Hmm, I've missed this.”

I don't know for how long I had been like this, but Ponthyt broke the silence “Ahhem, so, you've gone camping before?”

I nodded, “yeah when I was a pup my parents would sometimes go off to a site for a couple of weeks and we would come with them. We would have to get homeschooled then. But we would always have to camp and I and my siblings would go off exploring while they worked during the day.”

He smiled and his tail was wagging.” That sounds wonderful. I only got to camp for a couple days a year. It was always so hectic. Me and my siblings would just muck around the camp and eat, sometimes hiking around. Heh” Ponthyt looked towards the ground and held his paws together, rubbing his digits together.

“What's wrong Ponthyt?”

“Oh it's nothing it's-” I put my paw on his shoulder which drew his attention towards me.

“I know that's not true, you can trust me. Just tell me what's wrong ok?”

He gave a look of reluctance before caving to my request “… sigh… I grew up in a big family, and I love them all but… I was born at a strange time. I was second to last of my parents pups. Which meant they were busy with the older ones' events and taking care of the youngest. I kind of got mixed up and forgotten. My interests rarely lined up with the others and I often messed up tasks that my sibling would just fix or do for me. It got to the point that I… didn't really do anything. They will never say this but… I don't think my parents ever expected anything of me.”

I rub his shoulder,” well… I know that you have amounted to something. I mean, you're an astronomer! You work to understand the nature of reality. You're also so… kind and patient. I tried to scare you off but you weren't deterred at my standoffish behavior.”

He turned his head and gave me a shallow but joyous expression. “Heh well living in a house that's rarely quiet leaves you with a high tolerance for stubbornness. '' he wipes away a single tear “Sniff well… should we make our way back to camp? Or can I take out my stuff?”

I shake my head. ”Nah, you can paint. I’ll just sit here and let this place wash over me.”

He smiles and gets up and sets up his easel, taking out his supplies from his bag and gets to work painting the landscape ahead of him. He was slow and each brushstroke was as deliberate as he could manage. He… wasn't very good, only starting out when he moved here. But his drive to get better was admirable. Even in adulthood he tried to learn, to grow, to become more than he was yesterday.

I kept staring at him. Feeling something warm in my gut, something an academic wasn't supposed to feel. Shame overwhelmed me and I quickly turned away. Cursing myself for having those accursed feelings.

**\*

Ponthyt, returned from his cauto (Cargo auto -> pickup truck) with an armful of wood he brought with us. He set most of it aside and threw a piece onto the fire he had started, causing a cascade of embers to fly into the late evening air. The dull purple of the sky cast overhead between the canopy of the trees as the chill of the night began to come in. A pleasant coolness that most would take advantage of to seek the comfort of warming oneself close to a fire.

Not me, I paced to a fro as Ponthyt set up our campsite. He had placed his painting for the day inside the cabin of his cautoa and was now seasoning some raw meat strips to cook on the open fire. Snacking on one or two as he did so. He hung them on the tripod to roast, the fat that dripped off them as they were cooking sizzled as they burned on the coals below.

“I’ll have these done as soon as I can, please sit down Maarchal. Walking like that is only going to make the wait worse.” He says as he prods the suspended meat with a claw like utensil.

“Hmm, ok I’ll just sit and wait. Waste my time. Make a waste of the whole evening!!!” I snapped back at him, throwing my paws into the air.

Ponthyt recoils from my outburst with his ears pinned back. “ We’re camping, there is no way to waste it.”

I turned to address him, “we shouldn't be here! This trip means nothing and we are just wasting our TIME!!!” I cross my arms and scratch at the biceps. Rufflying the fur and making a mess of myself.

Ponthyt drops his utensil and walks over to me. “ We’re together and we spent the whole day just mucking about. How is this any more of a waste than that?” He says as he looks at me with eyes full of worry.

“We’re scientists, academics!!! We don't waste time like the ignorant masses! We should spend our time wisely!!! Every action of connection is just another moment we waste that could be spent to advance our field.” I had tears forming in the corners of my eyes. Scratching at my fur until I felt a wetness on my arms and paws.

“We’re supposed to sharpen our minds! No-not seek pointless relationships! ” I said as I bared my teeth and began growling at him.

The look of betrayal and abject worry he had on his face was overwhelming. I didn't want to hurt him. What am I doing? He doesn't deserve my ire. My legs gave out and I cried into my hands.

Ponthyt walked over to his cauto and brought out a cover. He wrapped it around me and rubbed my arms through it. He rested his head on top of mine while I sobbed. I couldn't take this anymore. Repressing and lashing out at any attempt to connect. Ponthyt hugged me and rocked back and forth. Humming and rubbing on the cover. He was warm and soft. I don't know how long we had been like this but by the time my sobs turned to a faint whine the meat over the fire was well done and the sky was pure black and the stars were out.

“I-I think i’m good no-now.” I choked out. Ponthyt grabbed my hand and helped me stand up. We didn't say another word. He collects the meat and places it on two plates. I stare at my portion for some time, Ponthyt doesn't eat any of his either.

Sigh… I know you might not want to but… Could you tell me why you said those things earlier?” He says with trepidation clearly miring his words.

“Yeah, it's just… When I entered college It was… not what I was expecting… I was sort of a hyper teen. Always going off about some book I read. Drawing pictures of stars, space stations or colonies we would make on inhospitable planets.”

He sits up and places his plate by his side. “You draw? I’d love to see some of them.”

“I used to. But I haven't since that first year of college.” I turned to stare at the dying inferno warming us. I pull the cover around me tighter.

“When I was doodling before class one day the professor walked by me. He noticed what I was doing and grabbed my paper. I objected but he just stared at me. When he started to address the class he showed it off and mocked me for wasting my time.” Ponthyt turns his head to look at me.

“That's a dick move, But at least he couldn't do the same when you did it in your free time right?” I turned to him with a somber expression. He seemed to understand the implications though he seemed to be confused as to how.

“He couldn't have gotten into your room right? That'd be a huge breach of privacy!!!”

I grabbed the poker and stirred the coals of the fire. “You're right, he couldn't. But he didn't need to, my roommate would take them with her to class and he’d pin them up on the board to mock. I called the staff but since she was my roommate she didn't break any privacy laws and since my art was only ever worth the paper it was on it wasn't even enough to get a misdemeanor theft charge. I tried to hide it but she would always find them. I tried to get another roommate but he stonewalled my attempts and I couldn't afford to rent a place in town. ”

He took on a look of absolute despair. “... How… how could he be so aggressively intolerant of such an innocent hobby?”

I chuckled “It wasn't just mine, a few others had made the mistake of having a roommate with the same professor. I remembered one who loved going out in the woods for hikes. When he found out about that he mocked him for “Pointless exercise and admiring a random assemble of dead and dying shit””. I waved my arms about to emphasize how he inflicted his words.

Ponthyt stared at the ground between us with a look of utter confusion.” … He mocked someone for appreciating nature and being healthy?”

I nodded, “if you were not engaging with study of his topic you were wasting his and everyone else's time.”

Ponthyt looks at me with concern and shared pain. “Why, why didn't you go to a different school?”

I stared at him in his eyes. A scene of shame overtook me. “It was the top class in the country. My family was so proud of me. I was so proud of myself, I didn't want to disappoint them and me. Looking back on it, I realize my own pride was something I rarely contended with until then. It didn't help when he found out who my family was.”

Ponthyt recoiled and waved his arms in a “what” fashion. “Wait, what does your family have to do with this?”

I poked at a log to knock off the charcoal to expose the untouched wood underneath. “They were happy. He spent a lot of time in academic circles so naturally he met people who knew my parents. And the way they described this happy family irritated him something fierce. He gave me such a hard time with it. Mocking me for being a lazy nepotism pick who didn't deserve her seat in his class. He mocked anyone for having any kind of non professional relationship, we never spoke to each other outside of class. We never left or met with friends or family. If we tried too he’d find out and call the one in question a “Lazy sentimental idiot.””

I breathed in deeply, “... that hurt my pride so severely that I just stopped seeing them or any of my friends. I always said I was busy or had a field study, but I was just reading and rereading his lectures. I didn't even go home for the summer breaks, I just apprenticeshiped at his museum to study even more. At graduation he looked so… proud, I only realized he was proud of what he turned me into and not what I did a few weeks after I met you. How I let him turn me into an angry starile shell of a person.”

Ponthyt turned his head towards the fire. His ears straight up and a soft growl in his throat. “... If I ever meet that piece of.. nuclear waste, I’ll kill him.”

He turns to me and his features soften immediately. “Anyone capable of manipulating someone as passionate and creative as you... I can't even imagine the kind of living hell he made you seek…”

I chucked and a slight wag entered my tail.” I’m responsible for my life. MY pride kept me there for him to mold. I hate him, but I hate myself for it too.”

Ponthyt shoots up and screams at me “MERSHIT, Maarchal, you have nothing to be ashamed of. You had a right to expect your teachers to be respectable people. Not abusive and manipulative Sherkires (Ambush insect. Commonly seen as sneaky and unhonorable due to making pheromones and calls imitating other insects mating signals). He starts to speak softer as he turners to address me.

“Even this version of you, so cut off of why you love space in the first place is just.. You are one of the most remarkable people I have ever met. So humble with addressing yourself. You inspire me to be a tenth of the person you are.” He kneels in front of me and grabs my paws in his own.

“You are… you are so passionate, so creative. Even with being a self described shell. I can't even imagine how you will be when you open up again and explore your creativity in full and banish that monster's influence for good.”

I turn and I can't help but smile at his words.”... I haven't been in practice in years. But … I’m willing to relearn it with you.” I stared deeply in his eyes and that feeling again bubbles within me. The feeling of never wanting to leave his side, the feeling as though I found a piece I had been missing. Before I knew it I bit on his snout, recoiling when I realized what I had done.

‘I-I’m so sorry!!! You were just so close and and I felt something and before I knew it-” I was caught off guard when he bit my snout, holding my top jaw between his own set. I bit down on his lower jaw and we locked together. He tried to let go after a while. But I growled to let him know I wasn't ready yet and I used my leverage to lead him into my tent.

**\*

I got up and exited my tent. I stood up and stretched and twisted my back around. Lifting my arms above my head and pulling them as far out as I could. I looked at the coals still burning in our firepit, I could only tell they were burning from the heat going off of them as the glow was hidden by the sun's light. Before noticing the meat Ponthyt prepared last night still on the plates on the log we sat on.

“Pff, hey Ponthyt. Come out here!!!” I said behind me. He crawled out my tent with a head of messy fur.

“Wut ?” He said with half closed eyes and a disposition of utter exhaustion . I pointed to the cold meat. He still had a look of drowsiness before he realized what the significance of the strange strips were.

“Heh, I guess we won't need to make breakfast?” I chuckled as I sat down and hugged his head. I groomed his messy fur as I absorbed the morning sun. I don't know what the future of my career looked like anymore. But it was no longer the most important thing in my life. I loved space, I loved to learn. But In these years I had lost track of what was truly important. As I groomed him Ponthyt fell asleep with his head in my lap.

As I felt the joy of reciprocal love again for the first time in years I leaned back and watched the sunrise, caressing my love's head and breathing in the fresh air.

2024.05.15 18:33 reviewsvacuum 40,000 mi of ownership experience of the Nissan 2022 Pro 4X

Positives.
Power, This happens to be the last of the naturally aspirated V6 motors. Even in a mile high that's always a bit of pep for a truck. Off-road it gives you that Porsche feeling that you have unlimited power. Even the worst rock climbs I've always felt like I've had more than enough power.
4x4 While this does not have a front locker option from the factory. I have brought My truck all over the Colorado Rocky mountains without trouble. I really push the mints to the truck and brought places. Probably the understatement of the century If something gets so bad that you do need to turn on the rear locker and have 4 low engaged You should be questioning whether you should have a vehicle in the space. One of the only times and definitely the last time I let Google direct me off road It sent me up an Rocky ATV ATV trail that did ended into a waterfall. The narrow width of the truck allowed me to actually go up it luckily I was able to find one spot to turn around and didn't have to back down. But the truck is truly capable. Another instance I did a pass behind a stock Rubicon gladiator which bottomed out and all sorts of places that my truck did not.
Availability, and affordability. It's readily available without waiting in relatively affordable. The 360 camera system is wildly better than my 2017 Audi and Toyota products of the same generation. But is still low resolution by today's standards.
Comfort, This is significantly more comfortable then other vehicles in its class particularly when we compare it to the last gen Toyota Tacoma ,Ford ranger & The Jeep gladiator.
Easy to work on. Most everything is easily accessible and stuff you can do yourself. I've changed my own oil which doesn't void the warranty as long as you use a factory oil filter.
Gas mileage 20-22 MPG for highway driving. In town it's another story at 16-17 MPG
Cons. The panel gap is not going away. Fit and finish is an issue but it is a truck, NOT A GERMAN SPORTS CAR.
Recalls......Transmission parking paw , transmission software. Tailgate lock, I'm sure they'll be more to come.
No electric adjustable seat on the passenger side. Even on the highest trim level.
Stock tires are trash and should be replaced immediately! Theare Slippery in all conditions Dry,wet,Rocks, snow.
Factory "rock sliders" (originally marketed as rock sliders which they walked back) Skid plates are completely overrated and should be changed.
Turning radius. It's a truck ,it's about average for a truck . It's definitely better than something like the first gen Honda pilot but not as good as some other trucks.
Noises, My truck is definitely developed creeks rattles at low speeds. There is a plastic bit on the windscreen that should be replaced under warranty that regularly fails and causes wind noise at high speeds.
Dealership experience. I've been trying to get stuff warrantied on this truck since 400 mi with no resolve. The only warranty work that has been done was the parking paw was replaced but the software wasn't updated. I've also noticed the car randomly running out of power when it's been four-wheel drive for a very long time This is solved by a restart. But the fact that nobody in Nissan would even update the software to see if that fixed it is horrible. Also when it's been at the dealership never once has regular maintenance ever been suggested to me.
Aftermarket. They're surprisingly a lot of aftermarket stuff for this truck. Even though it's new it does share a lot of parts with the previous generation. There is some stuff that's specific. But I have a topper on it that I got about 6 months after I got the truck along with rock sliders skid plates and even a front bumper containing a winch. Surprisingly enough there's only one company making a metal rear bumper
The truck sits on a 2-in lift kit It was the second one to be lifted in the United States. It also sits on 33 and 1/2-in tires which have really made it capable.
Improvement wishes, I really wish they would include an electric front seat, faster infotainment, an electric rear window. Improve the turning radius. Work a little harder on the fit and finish.
Conclusion. Well it's a reasonably price pickup truck. Don't expect a Mercedes G wagon experience with this truck. But the truck has met most of my expectations. So I think if you want a naturally aspirated V6 and a old school feeling truck The Price is Right You can definitely pick one up.
Is the new face lift on the Toyota & GM products better well time will tell but I would definitely cross shop this segment before purchasing again.
Would you add anything to this?

2024.05.15 16:58 PapaSteel Shotgun Wedding Witnesses!

EDIT: Reddit! You folks are absolutely wonderful. I had a few people reach out to me via text and between the responses here and a few extremely generous souls who offered to scribble their proverbial john hancock in exchange for some food truck bannock, we're looking to be all set. I'm honestly touched, y'all.
Hi. I'm getting hitched friday at 4pm in a quiet, quick no-guests civil service at 4pm, and I'm looking for anyone who would have the time to come and spend ten minutes to sign their name on a sheet of paper stating they saw our big moment. It's possible there may be rain, so I don't want to rely EXCLUSIVELY on being able to ask passing strangers.
Reach me via text at 306-585-0001 to let me know if you'd want a lift/reimbursement for your time. Thanks so much!

2024.05.15 16:26 Nearby_You_313 Is there a name for this specific setup?

Is there a name for this specific setup?
Researching on a potential business opportunity but would need a truck equipped to haul 20' containers. I am having a difficult time finding exactly what this sort of setup is called or how to locate one. I assume that this is cable pull (?) and potentially has some sort of rails specific to containers. I'm also guessing that you chain it down rather than locking into place like a hook lift?
Any help is appreciated!

2024.05.15 16:12 canon1dxmarkiii How learning to do a stoppie (probably) saved my life

So.. to give some background. Ive been learning how to do a stoppie and my friend who knows how to suggest i first start just a teeny tiny bit and trying to lift the rear tires, just a bit. So ive been practicing for a couple days, getting the tire up and getting it back down in the same position. Its not very high but I'm still not quite comfortable with it. I can move the back wheel around a bit while it is in the air though.
Ok now that you know whats going on, lets set the scene. I have quite bad eyesight. Without glasses everything is so blury that I figure out anything except the approx size of a car. Its dark, raining(which makes my glasses useless), and my light had been broken previously from a recent fall. I'm hungry, exhausted and my parents are quite far away in another town, in which they're shopping.
To get to my house, I have to cross a quite busy road. And at night its quite difficult to even ride through the roads without lights as the street lights are dim and far apart and most cars are headed towards you, with either no lights or high beams. When i approached close to the intersection where i have to cross, i deceided to do so about 1/2 a km early as traffic is a nightmare at the new intersection as signals have been installed.
Im standing there, behind a motorcycle. The nearby street light is out, so i can't see the road marking. I usually stand in such a way that only half my bike is in one lane so all cars can squeeze past. But this time, I guess i was a little more in the left lane. Suddenly, when waiting for a gap on the right lane, i suddenly hear honking from behind. When I look back I see a truck barrelling towards me. I have no idea why I didn't freeze like normal me in this kinds of situations and continue doing whatever i was doing(like waiting here in this case). don't remember much, and the only thing that tells me i probably did lift my rear tire was it hitting the ground while the top tube hit me in the groin.. Not the most fun experince but better than being clipped by a truck. I somehow manage to get back to my house in one piece with my bike as well in one piece except my loose stem that now i gotta take to a repair shop to get fixed(Not sure but i think it may have loosened when i did this. no idea though).
TLDR: Nearly got clipped by a truck, but possibly saved by my stoppie training
EDIT: I realize that it was totaly my fault and that i should have paid more attention. I accept full responsibility in that incident and will try and learn from it. Cheers

2024.05.15 15:44 Inner_Mistake_3568 How do I move on

I really dislike my job. It’s mechanical assembly tech for switchboards I don’t dislike the physical work but I do dislike the disrespect. I do not feel like a person who’s valued here. A pretty far cry from how I felt at my last job. I have skills, I know how to solder, I read mechanical and circuit schematic diagrams and build 7ft-9ft tall units lifting and tieing metal together that weighs 50-100lbs with bolts and making it look good. It’s not just building just to build I can make 20 pieces of metal look like one peice if u stare at it from 3 meters away. I know I have skills yet this place treats me like I’m highly replaceable, I want to show them I’m not by leaving. I just don’t understand what work I qualify for anymore.

2024.05.15 14:51 Repulsive_Ad1275 First blush changes to Vecna, map thoughts

So, after playing a little, I’m just here to share my thoughts on him. I think he’s So close to being awesome, and needs some Gentle buffs to make him fun to play.
Sphere Thing: Why does this slow you down? Casting this spell should not slow you down at all. You should take 0 penalty except for putting it into cooldown.
Fly: I think this is in an okay spot. He has a lot going on, and this is just a little mobility, and Sometimes useable in chase. Maybe the slowdown afterwards could be shortened a little, but I think it’s okay that this is mostly for getting around a little—especially if his chase oriented spells are buffed.
Mage Hand: This spell has potential to be annoying as fuck. I don’t want this to be a Chucky Scamper situation where if Vecna has this spell up, dropping a pallet means he can just lift it and get a hit. But right now, this spell feels bad. It’s currently really only useful on pallets you could otherwise outplay, which is honestly okay. Each spell has a niche, and Mage Hand is for small loops. Blocking pallets should last just a little longer. Maybe not a full second, maybe just half a second or so. I also think reducing the slowdown penalty for this spell would be fine.
Skeleboys: Now, this spell is for longer loops, jungle gyms, and structures. This spell, I think needs to keep the slowdown penalty as is. It has potential to quickly become an annoying Artist/Knight thing where you can just push survivors into the spell if dodging becomes impossible outside of running Into the killer. I think if a survivor dodges your spell, it should be hard to translate that into an M1 unless they fuck up, so right now I reckon the slowdown is okay. But being about to just crouch walk a little as survivor makes this spell kind of ass.
I’ve seen a suggestion to make the Skeletons come out in kind of a V shape, where the middle one is impossible to duck, but the outer ones you can. I like that, but I also wonder if perhaps you should be able to angle this the same way you can the sphere? I think the spread between dudes leaves enough room for the survivor to dodge still, but is narrow enough that you won’t be to just keep moving as you can currently. It’s a little more give and take that way.
This would also give him something to do with maps that have multiple floors, which I don’t think anyone will be too mad about. If they do something like this, then I think these guys should be able to hit cross maps. Currently, they are limited in range. Angling it down will reduce the range close up, but make dodging harder. This would also introduce a skill ceiling of being able to aim, account for the spread of the spell, and even gently angle the spell so it reaches far, but slowly lowers so by the time it reaches the target, crouch dodging is not possible. This also makes it so the item that shows you the Flight of the Damned as survivor isn’t pointless, since you have enough time after the sound cue to just crouch until you’re safe.
As for the map, I’m kinda iffy gameplay wise. Visually it rules, of course. But it seems kind of…Weird. Getting into the actual dungeon seems like a choke point that the killer can defend very easily. There’s the portal in the back, but I think that Always spits you out at the bottom of the main stairs inside, so the killer could just control that room and potentially a lot of gens. The one way portals scattered around should maybe be two way portals with a cooldown for whoever just used it so you can’t just go back and forth which I think might be abusable.
My friend also proposed that basement maybe should attach to the dungeon, which would be cool and unique. That way, getting inside can, again, happen from more than one place.
I just think that needs to be changed because it seems like the devs sort of anticipated this issue, and only put one hook in the entire dungeon because otherwise you can guard people very well. Again, not sure if that’s an issue for the killer, but having one hook in that whole area seems bad. This may also be a hook logic thing, and hooks above are eating up potential spawns, which is a thing that needs to be looked at anyway for other maps. Sometimes basement makes hooking in areas Impossible unless you go all the way to basement, which I don’t wanna do sometimes!
It’s hard to say anything else because it’s a bit of a maze inside, and being able to navigate without thinking is important for good looping, and this map will take some time to learn.
But yeah, that’s where I’m at with it. Long post, sorry, but hope to hear your thoughts and ideas, especially on the Mage Hand and Skeleton spells as those are the most delicate to balance I feel.
