This post has the potential to be a bit long, so please bear with me...
A question I often ask myself is "are there financial planners for people like me who don't have a ton of money and often barely make ends meet?" So now, I guess I'm asking this sub. I don't know where to turn at this point in my life, which has been riddled with terrible financial decisions, bad luck, and family health issues.
About me: 39, male, USA. I work full-time for a health care company in Pennsylvania, making right around $88K yearly before taxes and deductions. My wife is unable to work due to a variety of health issues (both mental and physical), but does have a small Etsy shop that brings in an average of $300 on a good month. We have an unusually large family by today's standards -- 7 children ranging from 6 years old (twins) to 17. This is the part where people usually look at me like I have three heads, understandably so. Before my wife's health issues, she was a paramedic and in nursing school. So the plan was to eventually have two incomes once the kids were a bit older, but life didn't turn out that way. And before anyone asks, yes, we are done with having kids. I love them all more than life itself and would never imagine a world without them, but I am smart enough now to know that it would not have been this hard with fewer kids.
It's been very hard (nay, impossible) to get by on one income and a large family, even with some help from relatives along the way. But through it all, we have barely made it work, although I have shot my credit to hell and back in the process. My score hovers around 550 to 570 most of the time, but plummets pretty fast if I miss a payment on something.
Right now, high interest debt is my main issue. I have a variety of low-limit credit cards all maxed out (probably $5k total) a personal loan from OneMain Financial ($400 payment), an auto loan from Carvana/BridgeCrest ($508 payment, worst mistake of my life honestly but was in a desperate situation at the time), and student loans I've had to either defer or flat out stop paying. Other high expenses are groceries, obviously, but I do get $600 in SNAP benefits each month, car insurance at $250 per month because my wife has gotten into a few accidents the last 5 years, and of course rent, which is $1,900 since we need a 5-bedroom house for our large family. We used to own our home but were forced to sell in 2022 due to a variety of issues and our dire need to find a larger place to live for our growing kids.
Suffice to say, most months we either barely make ends meet, or don't at all. I sometimes have to rely on cash advance apps like MoneyLion and Earnin just to make it to the next payday. I have pretty much nothing in savings except for a very small "retirement" account, which is in quotes because I contribute 1% to it just to get my company match. I drained it a few years ago during an emergency that is too long of a story to tell here.
Everyone that I have talked to has said the same essential thing -- to look for a higher-paying job. While this is true, it's more complicated than that in reality. My current job (which I have been at for 1.5 years) affords me the flexibility to work from home most days, and understands that I need to care for my wife (who has substantial mental health issues) and kids and not be "on" 100% of the time. That is often more valuable than a higher salary, but I do know that I am capable and skilled enough in my field to eventually take a shot at a higher paying job.
So. What the heck do I do? Is there someone I can talk to about all this, who can give me real, practical advice? Would a credit union be able to help me with my high-interest debt yet terrible credit score/profile? Ideally, I would love to be able to consolidate all my debt into something more manageable. Is that even a possibility with my credit being bad? I get mail offers all the time saying I am "pre-selected" or pre-approved for a consolidation loan from some random company. I think these are all debt relief companies or possibly a scam, right? I am also severely underwater with our current vehicle as mentioned above. I owe probably 8k more than what it's worth right now, and the van is pretty much a lemon with how many problems it has.
Thank you for reading all this. I am a fairly positive person (I have to be, with the kids and taking care of my wife) but this feels pretty hopeless to me right now. I just wish I could hand over everything to someone who can manage my finances for me, and do the heavy lifting to get things under control. Sigh.

This post is way longer than originally intended. Having some issues getting klipper to maintain a stable connection to mcu.
Printer: CR-10 Smart Pro 2022
Pi: 4b
Services: Klipper + Octoprint 1.10.0
"/dev/serial/by-id/usb-1a86_USB_Serial-if00-port0"
After I updated the config with the "by-id" I had complete control over the printer and no problems.
Something I always do with a fresh install of a linux distro is "sudo apt update" & "sudo apt upgrade". (May of been a bad idea)
After upgrade completed I "restart system" from octoprint webpage and still had no issues.
Continuing I installed some plugins() and the moved on to getting the creality cam that the printer came with working assuming that it may be a fools errand.
After plugging in the camera and checking the octoprint "webcam stream". The webcam was still not working.
I restarted the pi from octoprint screen and from there I received errors connecting to mcu. Shows "standby" and attempting to press connect returned error.
"ls /dev/serial/by-id/*" no longer returns the id and gives me the same error "ls: cannot access '/dev/serial/by-id/*': No such file or directory"
Checked lsusb and dmesg. Everything looks good.
"ls /dev/serial/by-path/*" gives me a good output.
"/dev/serial/by-path/platform-fd500000.pcie-pci-0000:01:00.0-usb-0:1.1:1.0-port0"
Klipper faq - "Wheres my serial port" states "If you are using multiple micro-controllers and they do not have unique ids (common on boards with a CH340 USB chip) then follow the directions above using the command ls /dev/serial/by-path/* instead."
dmesg command returns
[ 6.129402] usbcore: registered new interface driver ch341
[ 6.129485] usbserial: USB Serial support registered for ch341-uart

Updating the config with the "by-path" output allows me to connect to the printer but any sent command other than the constant m105 will give me an error.

Mint also includes a braille reader that blocks access to the serial port by default. Try these commands to uninstall one program that for sure will block it, and the second will show the status if ModemManager is installed, and if so, it may need to be removed as well

I've never seen this thing work. The printer has both a usb-c connection and a usb-a.
usb-a is strictly for the webcam because it connects to the wifi box not the mcu.
The wifi box is 100% defective out of the box. I could go into details but this post is long enough. I have been using the printer reliably using only the sd card and the physical screen on the printer.
Sorry this is so long. I'm obviously losing it. I'm attempting to show that I have been through all of the usual fixes. My plan from here is to reflash the pi and go back to the beginning of the klipper installation for the 3rd time. This time no "sudo apt upgrade" and no camera.
Eventually I'd like to plug in a camera but I need to know whats going on because the camera just seems to break everything.
Attempt #1 - Camera was already plugged in. "sudo apt upgrade" was ran. Never managed to get the printer to respond. Made it to a "operational" state but like stated before any attempt to send a command other than m105 errors out.
Attempt #2 - Fuctional. Responds to commands moving axises, heating up nozzle/bed, reports temps. Then broke after either apt upgrade or plugging in camera.
Attempt #3 - (Will update this when completed.)
I'm giving up for now and going fishing later. I will be checking on this until I come back from fishing (7/8p est). If you want more info about its current state post a comment I can run some more commands. Any help is appreciated!

I am 30 weeks pregnant living with my boyfriend and his grandma, which is his mother figure in his life. They moved into this new house about 2 years ago because it was given to them after a family member passed, the two of them made an agreement that this house would be for him to put a mortgage down, set him up for the future , and that she would have a tiny home or trailer moved out onto the property or just completely move away. This was their plan before I ever came along.
I moved in a year ago after me and him got really serious, we want to really make this house a home and have a future together. I got off my birth control, however I was told it would take a good amount of time to get my cycle back in line and normal, but I got pregnant so fast. Which we are not unhappy about at all.
But it is now the end of the world for Gigi, his grandma. For months it has been nothing but a living hell. She has done everything in the book you can think of when it comes to in-laws from hell. My entire pregnancy she has ignored me, given me zero advice, fights with me over every small thing I do in the house trying to make this a baby safe space. It is only a 2 bedroom house, she has the master bedroom. Our plan has been to switch rooms because we have ZERO baby space in this other room, we didn't want to rush her into moving out because times are rough now of days, so to give her extra time I have been okay with sharing the master bedroom with our baby until that time comes. For months that has been the plan and she always seemed on board. But now. She refuses to finish cleaning her room and tells everyone that we are forcing her out, destroying her home, and getting rid of her stuff, when have done nothing but try to make it fair for her. Every time I clean any room in the house, she will go behind me and make a mess or undo shit I have done reorganizing. If I am alone with her, she whispers smart remarks about everything and anything, like about how she isn't allowed to do anything, for example she will grab a water bottle out of the fridge and ask if it is allowed to drink water in this house or she will just completely ignore my existence. She makes a fight about every small thing I do. If I close a curtain, she will come behind me and slam it open. If I move a dish in the cabinet, she will slam the cabinet doors and throw dishes around. She has woken me up many times slamming doors. Also she will hide the bills from us, lie about paying them, we have had a late fee charge so many times because of her. Even had the lights and water cut off. She will buy 2 of everything for only her and him. She has even stolen my makeup and clothes. She will pull my laundry out and throw it around. She will never clean up after herself, I am ALWAYS cleaning EVERYTHING, if I do not, it will not get done. And worse of worse she made my gender reveal all about her. Thats a long story but she ruined my party. And still till this day she hasn't asked me anything about the baby or shows that she even cares about me or my baby.
There is so much more, I could just go on forever. However when my boyfriend gets off work, she acts PERFECT. She never speaks to me directly still but she will act like she is the sweetest person around, acts like she could never do wrong and plays it off when he confronts her about the stuff I tell him.
My problem is, before I got pregnant, we all lived in harmony. Everything I do now was okay before. I'm a very shy, non confrontational person, and I dont have any family myself, so I'm not family understanding and for these 7 months, I've just stuck to myself and done my best to not stress out for my baby's sake. My health hasn't been great and I was ordered to be on leave for work at 5 months. We even have had a defect scare on our baby as well. I've just had faith and hope in my boyfriend to set things right with her, but now at 30 weeks, with no progress from her, her room still so dirty, while I have our room all packed up ready to switch, I'm losing hope. I am to the point of not wanting her around me or my baby at all. I stress so much having to do everything last minute, I just didn't want to not lose faith in my man , he takes care of me so well but now I'm lost. He loves this land and house, he wants to raise our family here and doesn't want to move, he loves his grandma and doesn't want to just kick her out with no where to go, but Gigi just shows to not care at all about my health or this baby and it breaks my heart. No matter how many sit down talks we have she manipulates the situation. I'm worried that I will go into labor early because of her honestly. My man hears my cries and tells her about all the health issues and everything but she will not stop. I try my best to ignore her and do what is best for me, but its SO hard now of days. I am now feeling distant from my man because he asks me what he can do, but in reality it seems like we either have to move out or really kick her out. But i dont want to put that onto him at all. But then again I feel I have been so understanding and supportive for these 7-8 months trying my hardest to ignore her, all I asked is that we dont have everything be done last minute and we just switch rooms. And now it feels as if Its all too late and I worry about the future when the baby comes.
Everyday I overthink and regret everything. I cry so much and I feel as if no one cares enough, I know my boyfriend cares so much. But how can he see it be like this? I dont know what I expect him to do... but there has to be more right? He tells me there are other pregnant moms out there dealing with much worse and I understand that SO much, but idk... I am just so tired of being unhappy and uncomfortable. I have a baby on the way, it should be a happy experience but its just not anymore and I hate it.
Any advice? Please share your thoughts or tips. Sorry its a book to read.

She refuses to finish cleaning her room and tells everyone that we are forcing her out, destroying her home, and getting rid of her stuff, when have done nothing but try to make it fair for her. If I am alone with her, she whispers smart remarks about everything and anything, like about how she isn't allowed to do anything, for example she will grab a water bottle out of the fridge and ask if it is allowed to drink water in this house or she will just completely ignore my existence. She makes a fight about every small thing I do. If I close a curtain, she will come behind me and slam it open. If I move a dish in the cabinet, she will slam the cabinet doors and throw dishes around. She has woken me up many times slamming doors. Also she will hide the bills from us, lie about paying them, we have had a late fee charge so many times because of her. Even had the lights and water cut off. She will buy 2 of everything for only her and him. She has even stolen my makeup and clothes. She will pull my laundry out and throw it around. She will never clean up after herself, I am ALWAYS cleaning EVERYTHING, if I do not, it will not get done. And worse of worse she made my gender reveal all about her. Thats a long story but she ruined my party. And still till this day she hasn't asked me anything about the baby or shows that she even cares about me or my baby.
There is so much more, I could just go on forever. However when my boyfriend gets off work, she acts PERFECT. She never speaks to me directly still but she will act like she is the sweetest person around, acts like she could never do wrong and plays it off when he confronts her about the stuff I tell him.
My problem is, before I got pregnant, we all lived in harmony. Everything I do now was okay before. I'm a very shy, non confrontational person, and I dont have any family myself, so I'm not family understanding and for these 7 months, I've just stuck to myself and done my best to not stress out for my baby's sake. My health hasn't been great and I was ordered to be on leave for work at 5 months. We even have had a defect scare on our baby as well. I've just had faith and hope in my boyfriend to set things right with her, but now at 30 weeks, with no progress from her, her room still so dirty, while I have our room all packed up ready to switch, I'm losing hope. I am to the point of not wanting her around me or my baby at all. I stress so much having to do everything last minute, I just didn't want to not lose faith in my man , he takes care of me so well but now I'm lost. He loves this land and house, he wants to raise our family here and doesn't want to move, he loves his grandma and doesn't want to just kick her out with no where to go, but Gigi just shows to not care at all about my health or this baby and it breaks my heart. No matter how many sit down talks we have she manipulates the situation. I'm worried that I will go into labor early because of her honestly. My man hears my cries and tells her about all the health issues and everything but she will not stop. I try my best to ignore her and do what is best for me, but its SO hard now of days. I am now feeling distant from my man because he asks me what he can do, but in reality it seems like we either have to move out or really kick her out. But i dont want to put that onto him at all. But then again I feel I have been so understanding and supportive for these 7-8 months trying my hardest to ignore her, all I asked is that we dont have everything be done last minute and we just switch rooms. And now it feels as if Its all too late and I worry about the future when the baby comes.
Everyday I overthink and regret everything. I cry so much and I feel as if no one cares enough, I know my boyfriend cares so much. But how can he see it be like this? I dont know what I expect him to do... but there has to be more right? He tells me there are other pregnant moms out there dealing with much worse and I understand that SO much, but idk... I am just so tired of being unhappy and uncomfortable. I have a baby on the way, it should be a happy experience but its just not anymore and I hate it.
Any advice? Please share your thoughts or tips. Sorry its a book to read.

You are often having some form of rain deterrent like sp. def ttar who can tell zapdos to screw off, hydrapple who can sit on most of the rian mons and bait a ice move, torn-t can take on greninja in rain and with tera water for ex. can be a huge pain for it to break through, rotom-w with wisp is in general very annoying, as yes you can bring in hydrapple but hydrapple on rain is often just food for smth like a zapdos on ur team, slowking can reset rain with snow and make pelipper have to come back in and to stop a lot of things rain wants to go for, and in general smth like h-arc can start spamming head smash and late game and can spam tera normal espeed.
You are alr running things like sp. def ttar for things like zap, latios, torn-t, and being a good partner for exca, av torn-t is one of the best defensive mons in the tier, slowking, hydrapple, rotom-w are all easily splashable, and smht like h-arc, lokix, and azu are all good options to revenge kill or apply a lot of pressure outside of rain.
Even smth like hydrapple basically doesnt want to take on smth like ogerpon-c due to potentially just losing a lot since it runs eject button and is forced out, if it isnt eject button then cornerstone can often 1v1 it, and smth like h-arc also can just spam head smash into it and just have a good roll twice and just nuke it, it isnt fun for rain to be on the backfoot on offense.
Even smth like life orb gren, azu, etc you can often lure out their weaker moves like dark pulse, play rough/knock off, or another options and switch into it. There is a problem with Invoker's orbs. While you have a choice when you are to throw a lone sunstrike for example, you are certainly denied the choice once you want to cast a combo, since invoking a spell and then swapping orb is impossible if you try to cast 4, 5, 6, 7 spells at once. Spell Lifesteal also sucks and Spell AMP is inferior to CDR. It could be possible to provide each invoked spell the rest of the orb effects in scale, for a small time-window right after the spell is invoked, thus make combos better.
Formula: 2.5% x (sum_of_orb_levels-1)
PS: Shard, Aghs or a Talent could increase the max effect by +50%, essentially providing all orb benefits for 1.5s after invocation.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. Day 1 had surgery in AM. Pickup and home by midday.
What had: Tummy tuck, mild side lipo, muscle repair, 485/520 cc silicone BA.
Stats: 5’7 158lbs, 34-36A to small B. Size small to medium tops. Size 6-10 pants mostly 8s. Post 2 kids. Loose skin due to being heavy as a child/ young person and pregnancy added a few stretch marks. No lift needed to breast as never enlarged much.
Got exparil shot I think… day of surgery went home and stayed in bed mostly. Had pressure from gas and nausea after surgery had me looking green and eyes closed. Rode home hugging a pillow and went right to bed. Was hunched over like 90degrees and was very nervous about pulling/popping sutures.
Day 2 - day after surgery. Worst day and felt Would never straighten up and back was killing me when standing as it was fighting me being hunched. Worked on laying down in ways that helped hunch. Needed most help getting around. Was like when sore day after gym and is worse.
Day 3 Went to doctor to see how healing and redress wounds. Pics post surgery are currently from this day. Putting out about 50cc fluid 3ish times in 25 hours. Only 1 drain. Gauze and taped around wounds and bodysuit on all from doctor. Thicker and some bruising on one side/ lipo area but not crazy swelling or redness. Breasts only 2ish finger from clavicle and boxy as expected.
Day3-7 Kept up meds and stretching out hunch. Lots of sleeping Fluid shifted to 90 then 50 then 35ish cc in 24 hours. Did 2 sponge baths in this period and washed garment. Even with stool softeners no movement till day 4-5 but no caffeine till day 4 and not super unusual to go 2 days normally. Day5 -6 much less hunch and back pain.
Day 8 Today going back to dr. Change dressings and see if can remove drain or how long to wait/ shower instructions. Used top strap and implants more comfortable and about 4 finger width from clavicle. Still hunched but better each day. Cut out most of pain medication.

I had keyhole surgery plus lipo of my flanks on 9th April with Dra. Cristina Brasó in Barcelona. I'll list the main surgery prices here- Mastectomy without lipo filling: €5750 Compression garments: €150 Flanks lipo: €1320 First things first, Dra. Brasó is a fantastic surgeon. Very kind and lovely to talk to and very skilled. I'm super impressed with all of the results that I've seen from her as well as my own. I believe she has some experience with DI too, but as far as I'm aware she specialises in keyhole, which she is very good at. She's got plenty of examples on her instagram @dra_braso and if you speak to her receptionists, they can send you other examples too which is super helpful. Overall I had a fantastic experience. They're generally quick to respond via email, although their response times could be a bit on and off over WhatsApp (sometimes they'll respond within the minute, other times no one will respond for days until I send a follow up message). It was super quick to get a consultation with her and almost no wait time for surgery. I think I first messaged them start of December, had a consultation mid January, and then booked in for surgery for April (although they offered much earlier but April suited me better). The receptionist team are all super lovely and friendly, and most of them speak very good English so I didn't have much trouble communicating with them. I also had several post op appointments with their physical therapist Gemma, who spoke almost no English but she was lovely too. Generally, most of the main hospital staff didn't speak English but some did, and Google translate did the job for everyone else. Everyone was very accommodating. I flew over to Spain a couple days before my operation for the sake of pre-ops. The day before surgery, I went into their office to sign the consent forms and they gave me a prescription for medicines I would need to buy (which cost me about €120 total at the pharmacy) as well as pre-surgery instructions and where to go on the day. They then showed me where to go in the hospital for my pre-op tests. I had a pre-op ultrasound there, because I couldn't get it in the UK. The ultrasound cost me €102. All of my other pre-op tests they asked if I could get done in the UK before I arrived in Spain, which I did (although make sure to ask for coagulation results from your blood test, because my GP didn't send me these and I had to get another last minute blood test in Barcelona). If you have free healthcare in your country I would recommend doing the same otherwise you will have to pay for the pre op tests in Spain. Everything went smoothly on the day of surgery. I was originally booked in for 12pm, it was delayed by an hour but no biggy - it's not like I had other plans lol. One thing I wasn't expecting in the day of the surgery is they wheeled me into the operating room and gave me the anaesthetic there. This was my first surgery and I was under the impression that I would be given anaesthetic in a different room and then taken to the operating room while unconscious. I don't know what's common practice, but luckily I'd gotten over my fear of surgery beforehand and was feeling super chill on the day, otherwise I can imagine that would have freaked me out. After surgery I was allowed one person to stay the night in my room. I had to stay overnight in the hospital and then was discharged some time in the afternoon the next day, after they had removed my drains. The drains only stayed in for about 24h while I was still in the hospital and taken out before I left, which surprised me. Maybe they would send you home with them if you had more fluid but I'm not sure. Think I was pretty dry lol. Generally the first day was mostly painless because of the anaesthetic. The only pain I had was mega back pain from lying in my back for like 20 hours straight. This has been my main cause of pain every day until I could sleep on my side again. It was pretty rough when the anaesthetic wore off but mostly when I was changing positions, and mostly due to the lipo in my hips - that shit hurt. I would've probably felt fine if it was just the mastectomy. Either way, I was relatively pain free by the one week mark. I had 6 daily post-op appointments after the surgery, all about 30 mins each. The first 3 were chest massages for lymphatic drainage. Then the last 3 were radio frequency which I believe is for skin tightening. I was cleared to shower 3 days after surgery so I wasn't stinky for long! The stitches I had are dissolvable so I didn't have to get stitches taken out either. I wasn't allowed to fly back until 10 days after surgery, bc of risk of blood clots from pressure changes. I was told to the keep my compression garments on 24/7 for 4 weeks. I still wear my compression vest most of the time, minus a few hours at the end of the day just to help the skin tighten bc I have a bit of loose skin. In summary, Brasó was fab, her team was fab, the prices are fab, my results are fab. Super grateful for this experience. 10/10 would recommend. I hope this helps anyone who's considering getting surgery with Brasó. Tried my best to give a thorough run down of everything but please do comment or dm me if you have any questions. Thanks to lifestyle changes and performing, I have been able to reduce my A1C from 7.8 to 6 in three months. My diet has been pretty strict- and I have dropped about 10% of my body weight. I plan on continually monitoring my weight, and losing. That being said- I don’t know what my life looks like going forward. Can I have pasta without freaking out over every extra noodle over 30grams of carbs- as long as I am continuing to lose weight? Do I still need to freak out over carbs? What is my new normal?

And, yet, stale, in that the same old mid-morning sunlight that once fell on my mother's book collection in the early 1980's as I ran my fingers across the spines, is now falling on my own book collection as my children do the same. My mother's book collection is long since dispersed. When will mine also, be thrown back out into the world? But it's the same old light and the same old midmorning and the same old morning dove coos and the same old dog barking noises that exist in every neighborhood and even though it's new to my family, it's the same old house that's been here since 1928 and the only things that change are the people and the things in it... just falling through it in time.
This temporariness, this staleness.... it leaves me feeling very frightened.
When the school calls because my son is not behaving well, when the memory care facility calls because something is wrong, when the mail comes with a letter I wasn't expecting, when the doorbell rings at night, when my calendar begins to fill up with doctors appointment in an eerily similar way to my parents, when the Walgreens smells like the room my father died in, when I go to the dentist and everyone from receptionist to dentist is younger than me and the world seems to be filling up with people who don't have the experience I do... All I want to do is call my parents and have them comfort me.
So, I wonder, to those of you who have lived through this... what do you do when you are alone and afraid?

I’ve been in a numb state lately. Just rotting in bed thinking of old memories. Life has started to feel like an old mystery movie. The gray ambiance, sharp camera twists, turns, and a shocking revelation with a loud cymbal and discordant piano keys. It was 7:00 pm and my mind had decided to replay a particularly strange memory. I was up late (9pm-ish) reading a book. It felt so big in my hands and I found it annoying to turn the pages. The story was just too good, the scenes were flashing and flowing so quickly in my mind. It felt like I was there crawling through small cupboards and reaching new worlds. All good things must come to an end though and my eyes were heavy and dry. I turned off my book light and put my book underneath the unused pillow beside me.
And everything drifted away.
I walked out of my front door and down the sidewalk. My neighbor was working on something in his garage. The area was a nice little suburb, lots of neighborhood kids and friendly people to talk to and play with. He waved me over and his words didn’t make any sense. They were gibberish. As I got closer I realized there was nothing on his face. Not literally nothing but it was an ever adding and subtracting hodgepodge of features. I didn’t understand why it suddenly got so loud. The noise dragged on and on and on in a monotonous slog. I couldn’t understand why it was slowly getting darker. The garage became pitch black and I didn’t recognize the 2 glass marbles floating in the dark above me. They were filled with dark reflected light. There was no more strange gibberish, only quiet ambient buzzing. An invisible force guided, twisted, pulled and forced me down. Now everything was smooth and it was so very dark. Pressure pulled and pushed into me while whispers and breath filled my ear.
Eyes wide open now I can feel it in my room. Slowly I turned, trying desperately not to make a sound. So so so very slowly, pulling the twisted blanket down and off of my head. I didn’t even notice the tears being wiped off onto it. It was completely and utterly dark. I could see them again. the two floating glass marbles. They stared at me. And I stared back into that old dark recycled light for far too long. It reached out to me. It told me it was sorry. It screamed for me. It bled into me. It wept at me. It yelled at me. It laughed because of me. It needed me. It made me. It loved me. It hated me. It devoured me. It cared for me. It fed me. It punished me. It dressed me. It was me. If anyone is interested I have referral link for the following welcome bonuses:
- Delta Skymile Gold Amex 70,000 skymiles (normally 40k)
- Delta Skymile Platinum Amex 80,000 skymiles (normally 50k)
- Delta Skymile Reserve Amex 90,000 skymiles (normally 60k)
- Amex (non-Delta) Platinum Card 125,000 amex pts (normally 100k) which can be converted to SM
- Amex (non-Delta) Gold Card 90,000 amex pts (normally 60k) which can be converted to SM

Some tips
- The referral link (DM me to get) defaults to Amex (non-Delta) Gold Card because that is the card we use the most so Amex gives best targeted bonuses from that account. However at the top of the page you can click on Personal Cards and then pick any of the cards above (or almost any other Amex as well).
- Open the referral link in an incognito window. If you have been browsing Amex offers Amex likely tagged you with a cookie reflecting initial offer they gave you and may end up showing an older worse offer depending on how long ago you were offered something. Opening the targeted bonus link in incognito/private tab/window avoids Amex downgrading the bonus.
- If it is your goal to "farm" SM then get Delta Gold first. You can't get a bonus for a lower card once you have had a higher card so go Delta Gold -> Delta Plat -> Delta Reserve. You usually will need to wait at least six months and possibly a year between cards for the max (or sometimes any) bonus so farming is for those that are patient but you can pick up as much as 600k SM over three years including Amex pts which can be converted to SM.
- Amex may only give you the higher targeted bonus on the first card you apply for. Any additional cards done at the same time or shortly after may be the normal bonus or no bonus so get the card you want most first.
- If you want lounge access quickly but may want to farm SM in the future grab the non-Delta Platinum for lounge access (and 125k amex pts). Then see if you can get SM bonus on Delta Gold. If you can't get the bonus then wait six months and try again. The non-Delta Platinum is a different card family than the Delta cards so won't block future Delta welcome bonuses. Getting reserve will forever block any bonus for Delta Gold/Plat.
- If while applying it initially shows a bonus in the offer but then as you complete the form it pops up a warning (paraphrased) saying "you can apply for this card but are not currently eligible for a welcome bonus" that is a the dreaded amex popup jail. Either your spend level on existing amex cards is too low or it has been too soon since the last bonus. If you want the bonus then cancel the application and try again later. Amex doesn't provide details but in many cases just waiting six months and then reapplying will get you the welcome bonus.
- If you cancel a card in less than a year Amex reserves the right to clawback any welcome bonus. They don't always do this but they can. It likely will block you from future bonuses as they will tag you as a churner. However once a year passes and the AF posts you have 30 days to cancel and they will refund the AF. So if you don't want to keep the card just cancel after a year within 30 days of the AF posting. If you miss that windows don't cancel instead downgrade the card to a $0 AF card and they will prorate the AF and refund a portion.

I have been with my boyfriend for about a year and a half. Off late, say 6-7 months, we’ve been having extreme fights and arguments. I’ve been diagnosed with cptsd and he knows all about it. Although our arguments are huge, at the crux of it, the reason is always minor. However, most of the fights are started by him. The reason given is mostly my behaviour. How I was rude in saying “ok” or being blunt. We’ve had multiple discussions around how we both feel but it mostly always ends with a list of things I’m supposed to change or improve on while he maintains that he’ll “control his reactions”. Owing to my mental health diagnosis, I’ve pleaded with him to give me sometime (5 mins) to come back with a helpful and productive response to any issue he might raise but I don’t feel that that ask is respected.
Additionally, his anger has always been bad and off late, it keeps manifesting more and more violently. Anytime I try to express how I’m feeling or recount certain incidents, he says I’m gaslighting him or being manipulative when I know from my heart that the intention is never that and that I’m only telling my side of the story.
There’s also a huge list of things that he claims he cannot provide for me (basic things for most in a relationship like meeting each other’s friends, families, etc.) owing to his circumstances but when I ask for understanding that I reckon is basic (like giving me sometime to process things he’s saying and then come back with a response, show some level of appreciation, etc.), he makes it seem like I’m asking for too much from him.
I have to think and practice a 100 times before bringing up an issue with him and also wait for the right time. All of this is taking an even worse toll on my mental health because so far I’ve believed him to be a good, honest guy. I’ve been with some horrible men but he’s nothing like them. It’s just these issues plus a few more which when I speak with him about, he makes me believe all stem from how my behaviour impacted him and all the wrongs he does are a response of my behaviours.
I’m just extremely confused about how to navigate through all of this. I love him deeply and want this to work. But I’m at a loss and I feel very confused about whether - if at all - my feelings are even valid. Any insight/input would be much appreciated.
