2024.04.20 04:21 r-kellysDOODOOBUTTER Predator stage 1 kit go power sports.

Ok guys, this is actually for an old 90s snow blower i got for $50. Nobody mods their snowblower so I'm coming to this sub for advice. I took off the old 8.5hp tecumseh engine, it was shot. I got a predator 212cc for sale $109.99. It's probably enough power, but I like to do silly things. I got it installed with some modifications. The old engine had 2 output shafts, so I got new pulleys and put them both on the single shaft. It works, kind of. I'll need smaller belts, and I need to flip the transmission 180 degrees.
So obviously I don't want to increase the rpm, unless I wanna sprint behind the thing while it blows snow 100ft in the air lol. I want a boost in power and torque for hitting that damn snowbank at the end of the driveway.
So really my main question is, should I get the 18lb springs that are recommended with the kit? What exactly do they give you if you're not going for higher rpm? They're only $15, and I'd like to get as much out of this as I can at 3600 rpm. If there's anything else I can do to get more power at stock rpm I'm open to suggestions.

2024.03.22 16:36 muaddba Snow piling up in front of SNT2100 ... what gives?

I've used several battery powered snowblowers, the most recent being a 100v snow joe 22" single stage which I am now getting rid of since SJ no longer manufactures the wear parts (scraper and paddles). I bought the SNT2100 (rubber paddles) with 2 5ah battery kit that was on sale through FAO this winter. We got 4 inches of snow overnight in the Detroit area, mostly light and fluffy. I just did my driveway and the snow piled up in front of the blower.
If I backed up and went forward again, it would throw a bunch of snow out but then revert to not clearing enough to keep it from piling up again. I tried walking slower, that did not help, it just threw a smaller amount of snow and it still piled up in front. I tried taking smaller passes, about 50% of the width per pass, which also didn't help, it would eventually get clogged and pile up again. I had the auger speed turned all the way up, and the chute was angled to allow for as much flow as possible without tossing it directly in front of the blower (about 45 degree to the left, with the discharge set to throw high into the air instead of directly to the side.)
I am very disappointed, looking for guidance on what I might be doing wrong. I've not really had this issue with other battery snowblowers, especially not in this amount of snow.

Also, although this is about Toriyama, I do want to bring attention to the passing of another legend: Japanese voice actress TARAKO, who was well known for voicing the character Maruko. I have about 2/3 an acre residential and have used a service for years, but now I want to do it. I really want to go electric. I have an Ego mower and snowblower at my small weekend house and been very happy so far. I like their Z6E zero turn but it is $6, 000.
I found this one at Costco.com Yardforce mower It's $3,500 and last year it had been on sale $500 off.
The price, specs and size appeal to me. The main attraction is Costco's return policy. I can use it all summer and if I find I wished I hadn't bought it, I can return it.

Hey everyone, not a ton of reviews here so wanted to post one. I bought the 28 inch ego blower at lowes in October. It retails for 2999.99 Canadian so it’s pricey. Managed to get 15 percent off on it through a store wide sale if you spend over so much. I was worried the batteries wouldn’t cut it for Canadian winters and opted for the big ones (12 ah). I store it in a heated garage. I have a relatively large driveway on a larger home in a residential neighbourhood, paved along with a walkway. So far we’ve had about 5 snowstorms and this snowblower has had no issue at all clearing it. I’ve used it on my drive, both neighbours drives, then pushed it through the whole neighbourhood doing all the sidewalks and I still had about 1/3 battery left so the battery has been great so far. Biggest snow fall was about 8 inches or so, although I haven’t had anything super wet and heavy yet. But I’m not worried at all. I run it on eco and it’s been excellent.
