2024.05.13 22:59 fiddlefaddling My good friend kind of "broke up" with me. Wondering if this sounds similar to bpd traits?

I posted this story in another sub when I learned about fearful avoidant attachment. and a couple commenter's thought some behaviors sounded more like bpd. I was wondering what it's like being close to someone with bpd & if this sounds similar at all? .................................
Awhile back my friend told me her therapist said she's avoidant. I'm not sure if it's more dismissive or fearful but my guess is fearful.
We've always had a slightly tumultuous relationship. & learning she's avoidant made past things make sense. Ive known her for 10+ yrs, both girls. Sometimes we're so close & she's always called me her soul mate. Then (what feels like) out of no where she'll shut down or get distant.
Anyways she's getting married this year & I'm not sure if she wants me there or just in her feelings or what. I want to support her but am very confused.
A yearish ago she sat me down & semi friend broke up with me saying I make her feel guilty/she doesn't feel like she makes me happy etc. That I didn't have to answer now but to think about if we really make each other happy.
Then she went on a trip with her bf/family, got proposed to, accepted & when she got back asked me to pick them up from the airport. I was surprised but figured this was her quirky way of waving the white flag.
Things seemed okay between us & then she comes over to hang out one day & is in her feelings wanting drink. She ends up clinging to me, crying, telling me she doesn't want to marry her fiance, doesn't want to lose their friends/family if they break up, tells me I'm her soul mate/best friend & feels safe with me etc..
Over the following few months, when we meet up she's telling me all the reasons she doesn't want to marry him but also they're in couples therapy etc.I just listen giving her a space to vent no opinions.
Then I don't see her for a couple months & when I do she's in full wedding planning mode. Again I'm a little surprised & mention something like I'm glad they've worked things out. She just laughs, says what do you mean we were ways getting married everything's great. Like nothing ever happened. I just say congratulations & leave it at that. She asks me to be a bridesmaid, I say of course.
We go on a couple group trips my fiance & her & her fiance + some of their friends. & I can tell after the 2nd one she was withdrawing from me. So I didn't reach out to her for awhile til she did me. We hang a couple times, I thought things were OK. the 3rd time we hang out. We get into a bit of an argument.
She's grilling me about when I'm going to get married/details & I'm trying to tell her i have no details to give her & were not moving at the same pace as her and her guy.
Then she tells me again that I still make her feel guilty & doesn't enjoy when we hang out anymore. She doesnt want to be around me. But loves me & still wants me in her wedding. I'm very confused.
Now I can't help but wonder if I'm just in the wedding party cause she feels guilty/obligated.
At the same time I'm trying to remember that she feels guilty alot. She vented to me about how her fiance & different members of her family make her feel guilty. She feels guilty if she doesn't complete a to do list etc.
So i guess im wondering if this seems like her going through something avoidant related & I should wait it out/give space.

Or if she means what she says, I make her feel guilty & truly doesn't want to be around me anymore. I feel confused & like I shouldn't be in her wedding in that case.

2024.05.13 22:59 SmallMouseShroom Summer clothing dilemma, any advice? (tiny bit spiraling?)

I think i've posted something similar before, but gosh i cant find it anymore, so new post time. Pre-Question explanation: It's getting to be summer and i'm getting quite concerned about clothes. Thigh chafing is pretty bad for me, to the point nowadays i won't wear a skirt without shorts under... but i also overheat very easily and wearing wet clothes soaked in sweat is a no go. Then there's the matter of B.O., i'm hypersensitive about my smell and no deodorants ever work once i start to sweat. No antiperspirants either. Ive tried numerous kinds & brands including clinical strength, and all they did was disappoint.I feel like i'm gonna ramble if i keep talking so here's a (hopefully) shorter version in list format:
  1. Chafing. I got thick thighs and they aint saving my life (i'm sorry, the joke, i couldn't resist).
  2. Sensitivities. I am looking for something that'll stay close to my skin so not too noticeable buuuut turns out i hate things that stick too close to my thighs. Could be cuz i'm feeling myself overheat quicker, could just be i don't like the pressure, i don't know. I've tried bike-shorts and i like them ok.... as long as i'm not moving, which makes it a bit redundant. Also can't stand sleeves either; not sure if it's a sensitivity thing, a texture thing, or a pressure thing. I might also have a bit of a psychological thing with that as i don't like jeans for a similar, yet different reason.
  3. Overheating. I overheat VERY easily. Always did overheat a bit quicker than others, but i think it's gotten worse or something because it's a significant problem now. I avoid the outdoors like the plague if its over (74°F / 23.3°C I googled it). I want to be able to do layers, but i cant.
  4. Textiles. I despise the feeling of yoga pants on my skin. Honestly sucks, cuz i see a lot of cute or casual ones that look like they'd be fine but nope. I've tried bike shorts, but idk, there's just something that bothers me? (maybe occupational therapy could help with that? i dunno) Tights are a no go. As in not now, not never. I cannot stand them in the slightest. I vividly remember meltdowns i had as a kid every-time someone tried to put me in them. nope. I found i like one kind of soft mesh, but most are not that texture & i dunno if there's a special name for the fabric or something? i haven't been able to figure it out. 75% of mesh i find are the ones i can't wear. This one might be a bit long, maybe i'll to a sub category/list thing? nope, tried, no energy. maybe in an edit if need be.
  5. Sweat. I hate the feeling. It's awful & feels like a bunch of slimy worms wriggling all over me. I can't stand it. Also, hate B.O. I'm hypersensitive to the smell and it takes all of my restraint & tricks to be able to stand it around others, and it doesn't always work. (I know my hypersensitivity on the matter makes it a me issue and not anyone else's. Still sucks tho, but i'm doing my best to not make my problem a probthem. (pun! probthem = problem, get it? srry i'll go >>))
  6. Sunburns. I'm incredibly fair skinned and usually spend my time outside dashing from shadow to shadow.
Uhhh there are probably others but i've spiraled myself out of energy for the moment. (rewrote this post like, idk, 4 times?) Soooo, back to the question. Any advice on how to get through the summer? help?

2024.05.13 22:58 WasSUBHUMAN [TOMT][VIDEO][2024] An advertisement about a big RC car with a toy Gatling Gun. The car jumps over a bump on the street and you can see that it has great suspension. After that it turns, comes to a stop and spins it's gun.

I remember there was another advertisement like that about the same car but it started with a child wearing the DJI Goggles 2 and moving it's head - the car's gun was moving as well in a similar manner (head tracking). After that it cut to the video described in the title.

2024.05.13 22:58 Illustrious_Ad_7247 Re-learning to draw from the beginning

Re-learning to draw from the beginning
I know this question has been asked a thousands times, and so I thank those in advance who took the time to answer this for the thousandth time. But I feel my question is a little more detailed/specific.
Quick self history: I’ve always loved art as a child and would find myself drawing everyday. It was a great passion of mine. Most of my “knowledge” just came from practice. The photo above is a self portrait I drew at the age of 17. I am in no way a master or perfect, but wanted to share to show I have a somewhat understanding of shading and value etc.
Fast forward. I am now a 25 year old, who has since lost her love for art after senior year of Highschool. My life turned upside down after graduating Highschool and I feel my passion for art is something I’d like to rekindle. However, I was never taught exactly how to draw. The drawing above was done through the grided method, along with most my work. I’ve never been taught proportions, perspective, line weight, anatomy. All those basic fundamentals. I feel my inability to draw from imagination because I needed to grid and reference everything was part of the reason I left feeling discouraged from art.
I’m looking for any books, videos that really “hold your hand” with these basics. I’m dealing with untreated ADHD and I get VERY overwhelmed with “just watch some videos about blank”. I will watch a video about perspective, lose interest then jump to anatomy without really grasping/practicing the other topic. I’m looking for anything that has some form of structure. Be it a playlist of videos or a set of books that really break it down and guide me from step 1-10. Essentially structure similar to a classroom. If it’s REALLY effective, I don’t mind paying for an online class.
Again, sorry for the repeat question. But thank you for any help!

2024.05.13 22:58 bigchives Comparing GrapheneOS with Stock Android: What's Different?

GrapheneOS and stock Android are both OS options for phones. GrapheneOS focuses on keeping your info safe. Stock Android, on the other hand, offers many handy features. Let's dive into how these two differ in privacy, security, and what you can do. This way, you can pick the one that suits your needs best.

Key Takeaways:

GrapheneOS Features

GrapheneOS is known for its strong focus on privacy and security. This makes it perfect for those who want to keep their data safe. Now, let's look at what makes GrapheneOS stand out from the rest.

Sandboxed Google Play Services

One of GrapheneOS's key features is sandboxed Google Play services. This means apps can't freely access your private data. They're limited to a safe area. This helps prevent data leaks and stops apps from seeing more than they should.

Regular Updates for Security Maintenance

GrapheneOS keeps devices safe by offering frequent security updates. These updates fix any new vulnerabilities that might arise. This way, the system is always up-to-date, keeping your device secure.

Attack Surface Reduction Measures

GrapheneOS uses techniques to reduce the chances of different types of attacks. It limits how much apps can interact with the system, blocking some attacks right at the start. It also includes special features that make it harder for attackers to exploit the system.

Enhanced Heap Memory Corruption Defense

Heaps are a common target for hackers, but GrapheneOS strengthens against this. It uses its own memory management system to protect against heap corruption. This includes special memory handling to make attacks harder.

Robust Memory Exploit Detection and Prevention

GrapheneOS is ahead of the game in detecting and stopping memory exploits. It has tools that spot and fix important memory bugs. This helps keep your device safe from complex attacks that target memory use.

Official Production Support for Pixel Devices

Functionality Comparison

GrapheneOS and stock Android are much alike in basic phone tasks. Yet, they have key differences.

GrapheneOS Functionality

GrapheneOS values substance over flashy marketing. It cares deeply about privacy and security. By not including Google services, it focuses more on protecting users.
Its main goal is making your device safe from attack. It does this by limiting what attackers can do and safeguarding the core part of the operation system.
It also stops attackers from taking full control even if they somehow get in. This is done through a feature called verified boot.
By removing unneeded code, GrapheneOS makes attacks from far away, close by, or online less likely. It adds layers of protection to apps and the system, making them much harder to exploit.
GrapheneOS Functionality Features Description
Sandboxed Play Services A sandboxed Play Services feature that provides better app compatibility, functionality, and security compared to MicroG.

One highlight is Android Auto, making your phone and car work together. This way, you keep your hands off the phone while driving yet enjoy many useful features.
Another cool feature is Now Playing. It shows what song is playing without you needing to open your phone. This is handy for finding new music.
Stock Android Functionality Features Description

Now Playing Now Playing feature The identifies and displays the currently playing song on the lock screen.
Such features make stock Android attractive for those who want a versatile system. It's packed with tools and tricks to make your life easier.
Remember, GrapheneOS and stock Android are both good for getting things done. Yet, GrapheneOS shines in protecting your privacy. This might mean fewer but more secure features.

Privacy and Security

When you pick a system for your phone, think about privacy and safety. GrapheneOS and stock Android protect your data in unique ways.

GrapheneOS Privacy and Security Features

GrapheneOS focuses heavily on keeping your data safe. It offers many tools to boost your privacy and security. These include limiting data collection and secure updates.

Stock Android Privacy and Security Considerations

Stock Android, made by Google, has its security perks. But it's heavily tied to Google's services. This can lead to less privacy.
Both GrapheneOS and stock Android care about security. However, GrapheneOS's special focus on privacy sets it apart. It's great for anyone who really values their data privacy.

Comparison Table: GrapheneOS vs. Stock Android Privacy and Security

Privacy and Security Features GrapheneOS Stock Android
Data Collection Minimizes data collection May collect user data through Google services
Updates Regular secure updates Regular updates to address security vulnerabilities
Google Services Access Restricted access to Google services System-level integration with Google services
Permission Controls Strict permission controls Permission customization options
Table: A comparison of privacy and security features offered by GrapheneOS and stock Android
In summary, if you're big on privacy, you'll like what GrapheneOS offers. It's a top choice. But if Google's services matter a lot to you, stock Android might be the way to go. It's not as privacy-focused, but it's great for those that love Google's features.

App Compatibility

GrapheneOS and stock Android both excel in app compatibility, but GrapheneOS faces challenges with some banking apps. These apps need special access. Yet, GrapheneOS aims for the highest privacy and security, sometimes making these needs clash.
Many apps are compatible with GrapheneOS, and the project actively works with developers. It encourages them to make their apps work with GrapheneOS. This allows users to enjoy the operating system's enhanced privacy and security safely.
Stock Android, on the other hand, has superior compatibility with all apps, including those from banks. It works across many devices and is chosen by developers. Its wide use makes it easier for developers to ensure app compatibility.
To make the app experience smoother on GrapheneOS, users can choose alternative apps that work well with the system. Also, the project is always updating to boost app compatibility through community efforts.

Recommended Banking Apps for GrapheneOS

Many banking apps face issues on GrapheneOS. Still, several banking apps perform well on this system:
Remember, although these apps are compatible with GrapheneOS, it's wise to confirm with your bank or financial institute for the latest compatibility updates.
As GrapheneOS grows, its app compatibility, including banking apps, is expected to get better. The project is dedicated to offering an experience that values security and privacy while ensuring apps work well.

User Feedback and Experience

GrapheneOS is great for privacy and security, which users love. They feel their data is safer and that Google tracks them less. Plus, it works well with most Android apps. This means users can still do what they want while keeping their privacy a top priority.
Some say that stock Android is smoother and has more useful features than GrapheneOS. They think that GrapheneOS focuses too much on privacy and misses out on some key features. For example, it doesn't work as closely with Google services and apps.
GrapheneOS users share their thoughts in forums, social media, and by talking to the team. They give detailed advice, like how to make permission prompts even safer. They also want the Auditor feature to be better explained, especially to journalists.
Users often request a better way to know when there are system updates. They want to be able to choose when to update, so it doesn't disrupt their day. They also ask about how to use the app pinning and auto-reboot timer, looking for more info.
Users also need more info about the Android Recovery system in GrapheneOS. They want to know more about its role in updating the system. And they worry about any issues the updates might bring.
Some users find features in GrapheneOS that remind them of Google. They want clearer information about these features. This way, they can understand them better.
App compatibility is an issue for some. A few apps won’t work on GrapheneOS because they fear security risks. Some just crash. This is why some users carry a second phone for specific apps, like banking or gaming.

User Profile Usage on GrapheneOS

GrapheneOS encourages the use of separate profiles for different apps. This keeps your privacy and security levels high. Users should have profiles for general use, social media, work, and private matters.

GrapheneOS Installation Ease

Installing GrapheneOS is known for being easy among custom OSes. The web interface makes the process straightforward. However, installing it on various computers might need extra steps sometimes.

GrapheneOS Benefits and Drawbacks

Why do people like GrapheneOS? It's great with most apps, makes you more secure, and doesn't let Google track you much. Plus, it backs up your apps very safely.
But it's not perfect. Some apps, like Facebook Messenger, have issues. The fingerprint sensor on the Google Pixel 6 isn’t the best. And sometimes you might face problems with internet when using a VPN.

Google Pixel 6 User Experience

The Google Pixel 6 is seen as a good buy by users. It offers good features and performance for its cost. However, the fingerprint sensor and the size of the phone get mixed reviews. The camera's quality also varies among users.

Overall Recommendation

Despite some issues, GrapheneOS is recommended by many for its strong privacy and security. It's a good choice for those who worry about Google spying on them.

User Feedback Overview

Feedback Request/Suggestion
Implementation of safeguards in on-demand permission prompts Enhancing permission controls for improved security
Better explanation and marketing of the Auditor feature Targeting investigative journalists as potential users
Proposal for a notification system for system updates Allowing manual installation of updates

Future Development and Updates

GrapheneOS gets better thanks to the hard work of gifted developers. They're always updating it to make it safer and easier to use.
Updates bring new security patches, app changes, and more. For instance, new kernel updates might change to versions like 5.15.151 or 6.1.80. Apps like Vanadium might jump to new versions like 124.0.6367.159.0.
They use tags to give updates for certain devices. For example, a tag like 2024040100 might mean a special update for certain phones. These updates are meant to make your experience even better.
Recently, they made sure that VPN apps can't accidentally leak your web requests. They also update apps like PDF Viewer to make sure they run smoother. These updates are all about making your phone more enjoyable to use.
GrapheneOS also pays special attention to certain phones. For example, the Pixel Fold might receive updates specific to its design. This keeps your device running well and safe.
They change settings to make your phone safer and easier to use. For security, a new memory tag setting is available. You might see different settings based on what phone you have, making everything more user-friendly.
Improving apps is just as important to GrapheneOS. Apps like TalkBack, which helps by reading the screen, might get better with version 14.1. These changes aim to make using your favorite apps a smoother experience.
They also make technical updates to stay cutting-edge. A recent kernel update, like 5.15.149, makes your device more secure and faster.
Even the Camera app and GmsCompatConfig (used for Google services) get updated. This ensures your phone is more dependable and full of new features.

Official Device Support

GrapheneOS officially supports many Pixel models including the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 5a. These devices let you make the most of GrapheneOS's features.
Some Pixel phones, like the Pixel 5, won't get any more updates. Yet, the Pixel 4a and 4 XL keep getting support, like better security. This means you can still use these devices safely.
The 8th generation Pixel devices offer top security levels. They're supported for 7 years from their launch with features custom-tailored to protect your device.
Pixel devices get different levels of support based on their generation. The 8th generation has a longer 7-year support compared to 6th and 7th generation models, which gets 5 years. This shows GrapheneOS's focus on lasting security and usability.

Future Focus and Community Support

The team behind GrapheneOS aims to make major improvements in device, system, and software security. Their focus isn't on supporting every device but on ensuring profound security.
GrapheneOS has a strong community that loves its security. This community's dedication to privacy drives the project's advancement and success.

2024.05.13 22:58 ShanghaiSlug Casa Bonita cult.

My god. I just about died laughing. My folks have been in Colorado about an hour north of Denver since '82. I'm almost in my 30s, and have lived in Colorado almost my whole life, except for a year in New Zealand.
My mother forgot about Casa Bonita until one evening when she when she was up late pricing Christmas ornaments and watching late night TV. One of the shows was the Casa Bonita South Park episode. This episode of South Park opened up a whole vault of memories. How it was a chain from OKC and now is the only one left is in Lakewood. A old friends sister who used to be a fire spinner in the late 70s. The flags on the table for the only edible food, the sopapilla. (Sopapilla: fried dough normally topped with cinnamon sugar and or honey, similar to a beignets, but also sometimes stuffed with savory fillings like Navajo Tacos.)
WELP. This started my mother to planning a whole day in Denver. We went to get my catholic school uniform because of course we had to drive to Denver to get my damn jumpers and skirts, so lets make it fun. It was a random Wednesday in the summer we took the aged truck down to Denver. (yes my mother was already working on Christmas durning the summer, retail!). Got my uniform and headed to Casa Bonita.
We pulled up to the pink building next to the 99 cent shop, and Big Sir Waterbed. I was unimpressed with the uniform I'd have to wear and now a strange pink builing. Honestly the water bed place looked more entertaining. But in we went. Like holy shit! Who knew this weird pink building had a indoor water fall! We could sit next to the cliff divers, and chat with them the whole time! There was also a gorilla who would chase the cliff divers . (We were also probably the only patrons there, maybe 8 other people max.) I got a raise a little flag to eat more sopapilla. There was the mines! And a jail! Seeing as there was no one there my mother just let me run around and be the little weirdo i was.
It's a fond memory. Years later one of the radio stations had "Nerfs LOL at 505" and they made a spoof on a Casa Bonita daycare for kids, this was probably 2012~13. It talk about the waterbed nextdoor and 'how it was ok for the kids to be in the kitchen because all they used is a microwave!'. It got me and my other friends talking about it and how we should take a trip. The trip never happened, but it was fun the share memories of our weird childhood restaurant that only the lower income kids or the kids who's parents worked too much went to.
Then 2019 (i think) rolled around and Casa Bonita was expected to close. One of the good things that happened in 2020 was the South Park guys buy the old pink building. It sparked talk on a Discord, a lot of NoCo folks on there. And i had the pleasure for informing the other folks on there that "yes Casa Bonita is real." And "No, the South Park guys did not make it up." I was so fun to let people know that it was a real place.
I've gotten a few regular at the bar I work at tell me about their trips down there, but non of them grew up here in Colorado, they only know it due to the show. They all have had a fun time, told me the food was edible and they enjoyed it, and they still have the sopapilla flags.

2024.05.13 22:58 Lumpy_Ad_5411 Seemingly hopeless situation.

My story: Back in the end of 2021, I went to a plastic surgeon and had scar revision surgery on my nose. Procedure was suboptimal and left me botched and with what I consider to be a facial irregularity/disfigurement/scar in the center of the bridge of my nose. Bad enough where people do double takes in public.
I used to have no problem getting jobs, but this has messed up my personality and communication a bit to where I don’t do the best at in person interviews. I’m working towards a degree in accounting and transferred to a bachelors degree program. I have been successful in landing in-person interviews. I end up getting too anxious to do the interview thinking that the interviewer will see my scar and already make up their mind right away and just go through the motions of the interview.
I applied to hundreds of remote accounting clerk and billing positions. I miraculously got one interview but didn’t get the job. I know the ins and out of Quickbooks as it pertains to bookkeeping transactions, as well as excel. I’ve been a top performer in each job I’ve had.
Anyone know of any office type jobs like processing transactions or roles similar to accounting clerk positions? Remote roles? I’m beginning to get hopeless.

2024.05.13 22:57 Skeeler100 Beginner/intermediate musicians for easygoing playing practice

Hello,
I play guitar and banjo not that well, and am looking for other not-so-great musicians to play with in a low-pressure environment! I can play okay but I'm far from being able to jump into a jam, and I haven't really played much with other people. I was hoping to find any people in a similar boat, who might want to try to mess around and try playing some slow or simple songs or progressions.
I like to play more rock, folk, bluegrass kind of music. I'm a 29 year old guy but down to play with anyone on any instrument. Let me know if this sounds interesting!

This was seemingly normal day in North Korea. It was cloudy some people were going to the work while some were trying to find whatever food they could get their hands on, like rats or pigeons. But there was group of people for who this was special day. Every single High schooler new that today was beginning of "Golden week", every year for 1-2 weeks glorious leader Kim Jong Un was abroad in Portugal visiting his childhood friend. Seemingly insignificant event, was long awaited for many high school students as during this period strictness in all schools saw massive decrease. Due Kim's commands caused by his nostalgia to childhood it is illegal to expel or punish any student during this "Golden Week" period, so usually obedient students turn into monster as this is only time when its possible to gain power over your and other schools, if person manages to maintain this power there is no way for anyone to oppose him once "Golden Week" is over and they are guaranteed smoothest High School life in NK, there are even rumors that if anyone manages to unite all 3 schools they will be send to South Korea as a reward by Kim Jong Un. No one managed to Unite even 2 schools yet though. Now lets take a look at people who awaited this "Golden week" for a very long

Si-woo (B,E,B+,F,B)
"hey where is my lunch box?"-Teacher screamed. As short student with scar on his face slowly walked out of class while taking bite of sweat bread, which looked suspiciously similar to one teacher had earlier
Junkeok Emanuel the III (F,C,A-,A-,F)
(kid was sitting in poor looking internet café as manager walked to him to tell him his time was up)
"oh okay I guess I will continue this project later"(kid said while closing tab that looked like some hacking software
Park Jin-Hyok (F,E,B-,A,E)
(kid was training in the woods)
"I can't wait for Golden Week to start! I can fight so much it will be very fun"
Lam Lee (F,F,B-,D,A)
Seonghan High School

2024.05.13 22:57 Nihon- [Web][Unknown/2000s] Old online game where you had to take care of a plant-like creature so it wouldn't die

I have been trying to find this game for a while now but I forgot the name.
It was a online game and I'm not sure of the year but I know it had to been around the early 2000s.
I vagely remember the creature being all white and having a leaf at the top of it's head. And I think depending on how well you took care of it it's leaf or something would change or wilt and it could die. I think there might have been different seasons in the game.
It was something I played as a kid that was hard, especially with keeping it alive. I think that was the main goal of the game. I also remember it being in a tall house? I'm pretty sure it was a 2D game as well.

2024.05.13 22:57 thriftsandthings False positive metabolic screening?

Has anyone had any experience with a false negative metabolic screen?
My son had the first test done immediately after birth and it came back normal.
He ended up going to NICU for 17 days and while there, they did another screen (not sure why since the first one was normal). That test came back abnormal for lysosomal storage disease. We visited the pediatrician today and she told us of the result. NICU had done a third test while he was there and we are now waiting a week for the results.
The pediatrician said it is likely a false negative. Has anyone had any experience with this? Of course I have been googling about what these disorders entail and am freaking out. The fact that his first test result was normal, should I even be worried?
Just want to know if anyone had similar results and what the outcome was!

2024.05.13 22:56 Sea_Watch9950 It feels like her Marriage Expectations Video All Over Again

Her segment on her marriage with Jordy feels very much like the video she did when she was with Brook called "Marriage: Expectations vs. Reality" video. The way she raved about Jordy and acted like he's absolute perfection in today's video felt so, so similar to how she talked about Brook in that video.
One thing that's particularly similar between both videos is how she claims her spouse always rushes to get stuff done around the house so she doesn't have to do it. In today's video, she claims that Jordy always jumps out of bed to empty out the dishwasher and walk Max. In the old video, she claims that if she made breakfast, he jumped up immediately to do the dishes. I really don't understand why this behavior is anything to rave about. He's an adult. He should be participating equally in the maintenance of their household. She wants us to fawn over Jordy doing the bare minimum.
She made it sound like marriage to Brook was absolute bliss and she did the same thing today about her marriage to Jordy. It was a lie back then and it's a lie now. I just don't believe anything she said during that part of today's video.
Part of me wonders if the reason she chose to devote such a large part of today's video to talking about how great her marriage is is so she wouldn't have to do a separate video similar to her old one and risk being criticized for it.

2024.05.13 22:56 spiceybeth Specific chemical situation

I have a built in cabinet/shelf/wall thing in my basement (constructed 1963). I have had issues with water backing up since I’ve owned the house, over the past 15 years (I keep thinking I have the problem sorted out). The water goes underneath this cabinet every time. Recently, after a water incident, it started smelling really moldy so I panicked, dumped a bunch of bleach on the floor, and squeegeed it under the cabinet. When the plumber came, he said I shouldn’t use bleach but should use a specific spray for mold and mildew. Thing is, I googled it and you can’t mix that with bleach. I have googled my brains out to find what I can use after bleach in this inaccessible space. It’s looking like maybe a solution made of water and washing soda would work and be safe, but there is conflicting opinion on the web. Do any of you have a definitive answesolution for me? Should I just tear the cabinet out?

2024.05.13 22:56 dark-souled-girl Opill

I am on the second week of the Opill, and I haven’t had many side effects till the second week. I just started bleeding today out of no where. I haven’t tried any other birth control methods besides Opill before this, so i think this is probably the normal “withdrawal bleeding” that people talk about, but i’m just worried about the horror stories i’ve heard about birth control. Many people i’ve went to advice to (that are on birth control) have told me the first month they had constant bleeding and similar things like that. Which honestly stresses me out. I know the side effects, symptoms, and experiences depends on the brand and type of birth control pill, but theres not lots of information on the Opill brand yet due to it being so new. Anyways, I would love to hear some feedback and potential advice from other opill users/progesterone only birth control users!!
(p.s: not to be tmi but I am visiting my long distance boyfriend at the end of the month, and dealing with a period amongst the visiting sounds stressful and just annoying)

Ideally i want to keep these accordions (clickable areas that open up more text) but just looking for a way to organize all these boxes so it didnt look like a bad interactive CV. Would appreciate any feedback or URLs to something similar.

2024.05.13 22:54 Frosty_Smell_7077 What Can I Expect

Hey everyone, So I got 514 on all my AAMCs. I did really well in B/B like and C/P like 130 avg in each. But my P/S and Cars were slacking. For the last AAMC I got them both up to 128s but my C/P and B/B dropped to 129 so it cancelled out 😭. Anyone have a similar situation and how’d you do on the actual. I want to score in the 515+ range and 517+ would be ideal. Can I expect that? MCAT is 3 days away and I feel pretty good about hitting that goal.

2024.05.13 22:54 Overall_Piglet_8288 Why are some peoples clearance timelines faster than others?

I guess there is no way to really know why some are faster than others but this is my story. Been waiting 14 months so far since my conditional job offer and 10 months since my background investigation was finished and submitted for review or whatever it means.
I am reading all the posts on here I get worried and wonder what could be taking so long? I have no weed or drug problems or any red flags or criminal issues, I image my case would of been an easy one to processed quick.
I remember the last words I heard was expect to hear back soon, was not sure if that was a joke or not.
I read it takes 8 - 10 months on average but mine is going past that. I read all the posts on here some have very similar time lines to me but I never got my final offer and all the other stuff.
I contact my point of contact they say they have no idea what is going on and best thing to do is just keep waiting. I dont know how that is the best thing they have to say?
Been thinking about reaching out to a congress person or rep for help on the securtiy clearance status but I am worried from reading other posts that might cause a new background investigation or for it to get "reset" or rejected because I read some post like that.
Any advice brings some comfort.

2024.05.13 22:54 _Revelator_ Clakson's Column: The general election doesn’t matter

Ignore the overheated geeks: the general election doesn’t matter
By Jeremy Clarkson (The Sunday Times, May 12)
I went to the finals of the Madrid Open tennis championships last weekend, where a spindly man from Russia was set to face an unseeded French Canadian, who turned up in a cowslip yellow version of the fetching playsuit that Sean Connery wore in Goldfinger.
The spindly man made a shaky start, and it looked like General Montcalm was on course for an amazing victory. But then the man with legs like pipe cleaners started to fight back. And you could sense the tension. In one corner of the stadium, you had Montcalm’s friends, family and trainers writhing in a cauldron of dopamine and serotonin, willing their man to hang on in there. And in the other corner, there was a tribe of Russians doing exactly the same thing.
It was a good match with some epic baseline rallies, a lot of nifty backspin dolly drops, and a palpable sense of infectious excitement from all the tennis fans in the stadium. Me included. It was gripping and fascinating, but here’s the thing: I absolutely couldn’t care less who won. I’ve no love for Russia at the moment, obviously, and I think the French Canadians need a smacked bottom. James Wolfe won: get over it and speak English. But watching the fight was tremendous. And of course, that brings me on to the general election.
All over Westminster, there are hundreds of people who are frothing at the mouth with anticipation of the forthcoming duel. Wonks. Journalists. Lobbyists. They love the fight, the game. They meet and gossip and when you see them huddled round an embarrassing Student Time YouTube clip that’s just emerged, you sense they are actually aroused.
They wait in a mummified state, like the flight controllers at Nasa when a spaceship is in the re-entry radio blackout zone, for someone on the front line to say something which is at odds with the party line. Or for a junior minister to appear on the BBC News programme and not know the price of a loaf of bread. Then that’s it. Their down-the-line winner.
Every small mistake, every bacon sandwich moment, is pounced upon with delirious glee. They wait, like Frost did when he was in the third round against Nixon, for Angela Rayner to admit she had two houses, or no houses, because that’ll be that in their eyes. Game, set and match.
Of course, those in the Sunak dugout will noisily explain that this is proof that she’s Ronald Biggs in a frock. While at the other end of the court, Sir Starmer’s gatekeepers will argue that she’s only human. And news of all of these titbits will be broadcast with squeaky glee to a wider audience than the one watching Baby Reindeer.
I usually care about a general election. And I certainly cared about the Brexit referendum. But this time round, you can vote for a party that’s useless by accident. Or a party that will be useless on purpose. So it really doesn’t matter who wins. It won’t change your life in any way, shape or form.
Cancel culture and a woke civil service means the Conservatives won’t even be allowed to say what they want to do, let alone actually do it. And the Labourites will be prevented from making the changes they want by the world’s financial markets, and common sense.
We are told that if the Tories win, non-doms will continue to avoid paying taxes, which won’t make a ha’porth of difference to you because you don’t even know what a non-dom is. And then we have news that if the Labourists win, people will no longer be able to buy their council houses. And that doesn’t affect you either.
Then you’ve got Sir Starmer on the trans issue. He implied last year that a woman can have a penis and immediately the Westminster fanboy bubble went bananas. “HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT A WOMAN IS,” they bellowed. And we all sat at home, sighing and thinking: “Yes he does. He just can’t say it, because unlike JK Rowling, he needs a job”.
We saw a similar thing with Mr Rishi when footage emerged of him saying he doesn’t have any working-class friends. Straight away the wonks were out of their seats, spitting with fury as they explained he only eats swan and that he uses his butler’s children as footstools. Meanwhile, you were thinking: “I really ought to mow the lawn.”
Doubtless there will be fans of the political system bouncing up and down in their seats right now, pointing to the recent council elections in which a Muslim chap, standing on the Green ticket, celebrated his win by saying it was a victory for Gaza, and referred to a local Jewish chap as a “kind of animal”. He sounds like the sort of chap who manages to be daft and unpleasant all at the same time, but he’s in Leeds and most of you aren’t, so what does it matter if his head’s full of silly nonsense? All he’s going to be able to do in the next five years is have a very small say on where the next park bench will be built.
It’s not a completely different story for whoever wins the general election. They may have the power to make changes, but only in the same way that they have the power to drop a nuclear bomb on Belgium. It’s not actually going to happen.
The fact is that we will be treated to a bombardment of promises and polls in the coming months. And it will be a good spectator sport. But it doesn’t really matter who wins because the pot holes will continue to give you punctures, the trains will continue to be unreliable, air travel will continue to be a nightmare, NHS waiting lists will continue to be barbaric, the navy’s missiles will continue to misfire, the small boats will continue to arrive, farmers will continue to get a kicking, bills will continue to land on the doormat, we’ll all continue to pay taxes and we’ll all continue to die.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
And here's the Sun column: "I’ll be staying in the UK this summer and not going abroad – here’s why."
Clarkson's columns are regularly collected as books. You can buy them from his boss or your local bookshop.
