Romanian House - Where the sun never sets

2012.11.17 19:35 RoHouse Romanian House - Where the sun never sets

Also known as Romanian Dance-Pop, Romanian House is a style of popular dance music originating in Romania which adds a Romanian twist to the global Dance-Pop sound. Hooks are often derived from traditional folk styles, with synthesised accordion and brass melodies being particularly common; lyrics are almost always sung in English. Following a string of major hits by artists such as Edward Maya, Inna and Alexandra Stan, the style has achieved widespread popularity outside Romania.

2024.05.24 00:40 maribugloml this might seem random, but if you’ve listened to stranger by olivia rodrigo do you think of fb?

when i first listened to stranger, i immediately thought of it because it just reminds me of the whole curse. when it broke they all cried and now it’s just “a stranger they know everything about” because they’ve lived with the spirits their entire lives. they’re so used to living this way that when that feeling is finally gone, everything feels foreign to them, including their animal spirit whom they once had a connection to.
“i had the strangest feeling of this weight off of my chest”
pertains to the empty but almost rewarding feeling of getting rid of something that’s been bothering you for so long and has been your norm.
“and everybody told me it would happen in time the fire would burn out and all the storm clouds would subside and I always believed that it was some comforting lie”
i mostly think of kyo when i hear this set of lyrics, but it relates to most of the zodiac and how they’ve already been resigned to the curse that they think there’s no possibility of being saved.
“and God knows that I am the girl I am because of you”
while not necessarily being the spirits themselves, the sohmas’ personalities and way of living have mostly to do with them being cursed, so they don’t know what life would be like had they not been under the curse to begin with, as it makes up a majority of their lives.
“you are the best thing that I'll ever keep so far out of my life”
my personal favorite lyric but what it’s saying in this case is that the sohmas are finally free and while the spirits did make up a large aspect of who they are, they’re ready to start anew and try to let go and move on from their pasts (no matter how bumpy the road may be).
i get that the song itself is about a relationship with a partner (as most liv songs are anyway) and saying goodbye to that person, but i just couldn’t help but think of fb on my first listen.

2024.05.24 00:27 ProfessorFrunk [TOMT] Song with the lyrics "I used to be a ladies man"

Looking for a song, probably from the 2000, and all I can remember clearly is that the music video is set in an old people's home and an elderly gentleman is singing along with the lyrics.
Only line I remember is "I used to be a ladies man", think it might be the opening line.
I've spent an evening looking for it on Google and YouTube with no success, any help would be appreciated.

2024.05.24 00:23 AccomplishedPop326 How do you guys manage to create lyrics without using someone else’s melody?

Hi When i’m writing lyrics first. I always find myself thinking about melodies of other songs, which results in my lyrics being more or less melodic copy of one i have been humming all along. Does anyone know how to clear your head during writing or is it a problem that i get my inspirations from already existing songs?

I couldn't make it to learning all the songs for the concert my future wife is been waiting her whole life for. Does anyone have a document (pdf or word or similar) with the lyrics she's singing? I know I can read them from many lyrics places, but it would be much harder doing so in the plane.

2024.05.24 00:14 Any-Fee-1868 Dance pop song by two emo looking dudes

Please dear people help me name this song. It was a one hit wonder from around 2010 I believe. The song was sung by two emo looking guys but the song was not emo at all. It had an energetic drop in the chorus. They were saying something about doors (I might be wrong). It was mainly about getting a girl. I the music video both dudes were singing to the camera on a dance floor with people in the background. Paying with love and maybe something more if you want XD

2024.05.24 00:03 1_threw_8 Started listening to more music

A big change for me with sobriety was branching out my musical taste and listening to albums I've never listened to. I kind of just stuck to my same playlist and same music ive listened to for years and was too impatient to listen to anything new during my drinking life.
Dream Theater was the band that kind of marked the start of my sobriety and I've been obsessed with them and have listened to their whole discography. Their drummer, Mike Portnoy, wrote the lyrics to a set of songs related to his struggles with alcoholism called "Twelve-Step Suite" that I highly recommend checking out.
Anyone have any albums they recommend or music that has helped them through their sobriety?

2024.05.23 23:56 Idittqe Playlist of songs that feel relatable to being Autistic

I made a playlist of songs where the lyrics felt like they connected to some aspect of being autistic for me. Some songs are rlly obvious in why they’re relateable, others are more “abstract” or specific to certain aspects of being autistic. I wanted to share! As well as am interested in what songs others see themselves/ their autism in :3
Music/ playlist organizing is a special interest of mine- so I also wanted to highlight a couple of songs specifically and why I included them (I could prob give an explanation for any song on the playlist):
Voice in Headphones by Mount Eerie- the song is about Bjork’s song “Undo” and how intensely the artist connects to Undo. Artistic expression of what art moves you deeply felt so perfect and relatable to how certain art feels to me.
Indiscipline by King Crimson- captures the intensity and joy and even stress that comes with hyperfocusing (specifically on making/creating something)
Give Me Back by Embrace - highlights the frustration in the specific experience of both being very aware of your own thoughts/ feelings, as well as feeling like you can’t properly express or access them.
A Punch Up at a Wedding by Radiohead- reminds me of all the times people make fun of my interests, or intensity, or even how upset people get when I no longer want to prioritize their wants over my needs. ( there’s like 10 Radiohead/rh adjacent songs on the playlist lol, can u tell i like them…)

2024.05.23 23:51 Immediate_Coffee194 My girlfriend (F21) might be bisexual and I (M21) don’t know how to process it.

So for context, my girlfriend (F21) and I (M21) have been dating for almost 6 months now. We met over a year ago and I fell for her the second I laid eyes on her. However, she did not develop feelings until we started to talk more consistently, which has always made me feel like our attraction and obsession towards each other (to a healthy amount lol) have never been at the same levels. This has led to some anxiety over her leaving me or falling out of love with me, which I do understand is something I need to go to therapy for and may be related to some childhood trauma I have yet to overcome. But this feeling has definitely calmed down recently until now.
She’s always enforced some gender roles onto our relationship which has led to some friction between us but nothing we couldn’t work through. Due to this, I always assumed she was straight. But recently she’s gotten really into Chappell Roan. Her favorite song is “Good Luck, Babe” which caused my anxieties to spring up again, especially since she is way more into the lyrics of songs and she probably resonated with the message of this song. I had my suspicions about this but I just simply thought I was overreacting. However, yesterday I sent a tiktok about Chappell to her and our conversation went like this: Her: “I don’t know she might turn me bi” Me: “Is there something you want to share with me?” Her: “Not yet” Me: “Okay, no rush or pressure” While her being bisexual on the surface is not an issue to me whatsoever, this immediately had me thinking about so much. Here are my main concerns (keep in mind that I don’t know if she is actually bi, and if so, when she even came to this realization or what made her come to it): did she realize this when she was with me? All I can think is that she has only ever been with boys. I understand that she chose to be with me and she loves me and wants to be with me, but if she came to this realization while she was with me, I’m scared that she’ll eventually want to experience what being with a girl is like. Maybe her choosing me was a way for her to avoid coming to terms with this part of herself. Is it reasonable to assume that she’d want to spend the rest of her life with me without ever experiencing this part of herself? I’m just scared.
What should I do? I really want to talk to her about this but I definitely don’t want to pressure her or make her come out to me when she isn’t comfortable doing so. But when the time comes, should I express these concerns with her? Should I ask when she realized this and what made her realize? Do I have some biphobia that I still need to work out? Is there anything I can do to put my anxieties to rest, at least for now? Thanks!
TL;DR: My girlfriend might be bisexual and the prospect of her realizing this during the time we’ve been dating has made some anxieties pop up for me and I need advice.

2024.05.23 23:45 Longjumping_Knee2241 Thank you tøp I’m so grateful for your music -/

I just really want to thank tøp for alerting being there for me even when I left you after loc came out. I can’t believe that almost 9 years ago I became a fan of your music and I’m so glad I liked your music and stayed for the next album.
When I heard Blurryface on the radio it sounded so special! The eerie feeling but with a great vibe and beat really got me to be a fan of your music and then when I heard vessel, RAB, and self titled in 2017 it sounded so good and that’s when I knew I was a fan and that you guys would be my favorite band ever!
Then trench came and when I heard jumpsuit I LOVED IT! The rock vibe and the scream was just so amazing!! I listened to the full album about a year later and it was so much better than Blurryface in my opinion!
Then loc came and I didn’t like it that much but it was still pretty good. And then a few months after loc came out I stopped listening and missed the banger album scaled and icy.
It wasn’t until late 2021 when I heard Saturday and choker and i didn’t really like choker but I loved Saturday. Then after that I stopped listening completely until summer of 2023….
I was scrolling through yt and came across RAB and I listened to it and it sounded great! Then I discovered NPI and that was even better because it had some lyrics from other songs yall made! Then I listened to the full SAI album and I really liked it…although it did take some time for me to like.
Now it’s 2024, I found a few of your older songs and unreleased ones like dollhouse, time to say goodbye, jar of hearts cover, twenty nine, lord of glory etc. And now just a few hours away from Clancy I can’t wait for the music videos!
Thank you so much for not only being apart of my childhood music taste but for also helping me through some difficult times in life.
Because of your music I’ve learned to stay alive no matter what -/
Thank you tøp
